#i just want a powerful af Aether who refuses to use his power for anything bad

I have this headcanon that Aether was absolutely ruthless before he was summoned from the pit

Like, strategic killer. Did whatever he had to to survive, just a complete machine.

But on the surface, he chose to leave that behind and relishes in the fact that he never has to be like that again.

However, every once in a while, it builds up so much that he snaps- and you want to be anywhere but the receiving end of that.

(Once, the group lost track of time while playing around in the woods, and Aether was the only one who didn’t go. When they returned well past midnight to Aether pacing in front of a now-cold dinner, that’s the closest they have come to seeing his true power shine through as he absolutely just lays into them about responsibility and worrying those who love you and about telling people where you’re going when theres crazy people out there, damnit. No one talks about how their visions slowly darkened so the only thing they could literally focus on was Aether. Or how they could feel his worry and rage pass through them like their bodies didn’t exist. Or how they see him have to consciously keep retracting his claws as they appear without consent. Or how dizzy they all got the longer he went on or how purple sparks surge and singe the edges of their consciousness)

(They all get lots of cuddles that night.)
