Note
For the 3 sentence meme; how about Lilia and or Malleus realizing Silver has romantic feelings for someone and feeling conflicted as they're worried their little boy may leave them.
[✐meme] three sentence fic meme [✐] ficlet frenzy
Silver has been far more distracted as of late — and Lilia is certain he knows why, from the way his son's eyes trail after a certain Kalim Al-Asim with a fervent longing in those auroral pupils, to the way he keeps talking about him, the conversation always swinging back to his friend one way or another.
And Lilia is... Well, of course a part of him is rather happy; there are far worse options in the world than Kalim, and due to their proximity as members of the Pop Music Club, Lilia likes to consider him as one of his own good friends. But all the same... it is quite the jarring realisation to look upon your own child and realise that you are no longer the centre of his world, that now there are other people entering his orbit — people he may care about just as much, if not more, than he does for you.
But he can handle these conflicting feelings. Malleus, on the other hand...
"You ought to stop glaring so obviously at Kalim," Lilia says, leaning over to whisper into Malleus' ear, taking note of where he is looking — at Kalim and Silver, a rare smile plastered across the latter's face as Kalim chatters on and on to him about something or other. "I'm aware that you can be rather territorial, but—"
"I do not wish for Silver to leave me." Outside, there is a flash of lightning accompanied by a rumble of thunder, and Lilia winces. Malleus does not tear his gaze away from the two boys for even a moment, not as he says, "Asim is not deserving of him."
Lilia sighs, leaning over to clasp a hand on Malleus' shoulder. "Unfortunately, Malleus, that is something that neither of us can decide. In the end, the most important thing is Silver's own happiness — and if Kalim makes him happy, then who are we to interfere?"
(And yet, Lilia does not wish to let his son go so soon.)
