#i just neeeeeeded to rant this made me feel crazy.

watched that animated movie‏‏‎ ‎ron's‏‏‎ ‎gone‏‏‎ ‎wrong‏‏‎ ‎at my grandparents' house the other day because there's almost nothing else to do there if you forget to bring books (which i did) other than read their books which are about gender essentialism and how it is good. also bible verses for children. anyway the movie was awful. like surprisingly bad. i should have known from how i saw literally zero about it online from any sources but jesus. if they were trying to make the robot cute and quirky they failed on every level? he kidnapped a baby. like a literal infant. and somehow this never becomes an issue that is EVER brought up after the scene it happens in? and he made a thirteen year old jump off a cliff literally for shits and giggles. the movie ends with these kids being tormented by their robots and laughing about it for some reason. the message could have been good but it was literally like "okay so you know how phones spy on kids and make them feel like they constantly have to be palatable to an online audience? okay so we invented a new phone that doesn't do those things but it decides what apps you can download and it hates your interests and hobbies. also it can literally attack people. also there are zero installable safety features (this also came up as something that would reasonably be a major issue but was brought up once and never again). have fun giving these things to your children!" also. they tried to make me sympathize with a billionaire tech bro and a guy who makes prank videos. the prank video guy was a child yes but he physically harasses his classmates and is a white boy who dresses like a wannabe rapper so i have no doubts he will grow up into the most insufferable person anyone he knows will have the misfortune of meeting. literally watch the‏‏‎ ‎mitchells‏‏‏‎ ‎vs.‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎the‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎machines‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎for everything this tried to do but better.‏‏‎ ‎or‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎‎invader‏‏‏‏‎ ‎‎zim‏‏‎ ‎if you want a little robot gone sillay. i know it's an animated movie i know it's for kids i know the last animated movie i saw was‏‏‎ ‎across‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎the spiderverse‏‏‎‏‏‎ ‎so i'm setting an unfair standard but oh my god i still cannot believe i actually watched that and they wanted me to root for that thing. ‎also a character looked like me and it was scary. she had a classic toxic yuri thing going with her ex friend which was i guess one of the few good things about the movie.

oh my god i forgot the robots might (it was super unclear) be able to buy you anything online at no charge and hack any video game with access to the internet? this world you have created is INSANE and literally nothing is treated with even a semblance of the gravity it deserves. oh and they had a joke character whose one personality trait was believing an antisemitic conspiracy theory. my god sorry i had to rant this movie made me insane in a BAD way.

oh my god this is literally‏‏‎ ‎m3gan‏‏‎ ‎if it wasn't played for horror and the movie ended with every kid having a‏‏‎ ‎m3gan.‏‏‎ ‎
