Since adults are the topic of the hour, I want to know which adult animations are your favourite. I know, not in topic with your blog, but I'm really curious!
Well, to maintain this blog's tradition, in the Magical Girl department, there are only three adult series that I liked:
Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt (basically, Japan making fun of the US and its gross western animation, with its own unique twist. Was supposed to have a second season, but the folks at Gainax couldn't keep their promise);
Bee & PuppyCat (if you ignore the lack of plot coherence and handle Toast's annoying antics, it should be fine for you to watch, I guess);
Super Drags (this one's brazilian! Yeah, it's rather crude and generic as an adult show, but it has some interesting queer topics to check out!)
Now, for the non-Magical Girl ones:
Inside Job (if you're depressed after seeing Velma's rendition of Fred Jones, Brett Hand will serve as a great palate cleanser for you);
Bojack Horseman (it starts off weird, but it solidifies as the time goes on and it gets quite philosophical, too);
Aggretsuko (yes, the one from Sanrio. Y'know, the kawaii empire behind Hello Kitty? Yeah, that's the one);
Tuca & Bertie (from the folks that have brought you Bojack Horseman);
The fifth and final season of Samurai Jack (the finale sucked, but the video game, Battle Through Time, has acted as damage control);
Harley Quinn (Velma tried to imitate this one, and failed so hard at it);
The earliest seasons of Rick & Morty (Seasons 1-3, imo. There's something about this show that tickles my wanderlust);
(Dis)Enchantment (haven't seen the later seasons just yet, but I loved it so far);
Daria (you'd be surprised at how relatable it has become in modern days. And people used to shame me for being cynical back then);
Futurama (haven't seen the new episodes, though. I'll stick to the classics);
Scoobynatural (ignore the fact that it's a Supernatural crossover. Seeing the Mystery, Inc. Gang have an existential crisis is always a treat);
Rob Zombie's The Haunted World of El Superbeasto (this one's a movie. Described as an "X-Rated Scooby-Doo", and you get to see nazi zombies being exterminated, predating South Park's The Stick of Truth);
Venture Bros. (again, this could act as a great palate cleanser if you've watched Velma);
Bob's Burgers (it's a better Nuclear Family-type of show than The Simpsons and Family Guy. 'Nuff said.);
I also remember watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Home Movies, The Critic and John Callahan's Quads as a teen, and they were quite solid from what I remember.
I haven't seen these ones, but I'm surely interested in Primal, Superjail!, Del Toro's Pinocchio, Solar Opposites, Peepoodo and the SuperFuck Friends and The Boondocks. I also wanna see Mortal Kombat's newest animated movies, they look so amazing!
Despite having S-tier animations, I absolutely hated Devilman Crybaby and Castlevania. Major buzzkill, those shows.
And I'm sure, positive and certain that Sam & Max: Freelance Police could've made a really neat adult show if Steve Purcell and crew weren't stuck dealing with censorship sensitivities (they were held back by Fox Kids censors back then).

It's embarrassing.
My favorite anime are all kind of embarrassing to admit are your favorites.
Kill la kill: known for its fanservice despite being a really cohesive show with a well paced plot, and really amazing female characters, and is also defended by super cringy male fans who just like titties and are pretentious about it.
Madoka Magica: I mean it looks girly and cutesy to outsiders, and others know it for subverting its genre, but it's still kind of something embarrassing to admit I like because to outsiders it just looks sooo kid friendly, and to people who know more about anime, it's still very genre specific and you have to know about the magical girl genre to really appreciate it.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: great anime, known for having cringe ass fake pretentious fans. Yeah. I can't associate with them, they're as annoying to me, an nge fan, as they are to the rest of you.
Devilman crybaby (Netflix version): so much nudity and sex and drugs and violence in the first four episodes that people dismiss it as being fanservice-y. Said sex and nudity and drug abundance actually has a purpose, which is to emphasize how human beings take easy and cheap pleasures over long term happinesses like love and commitment because these things are difficult and can cause subsequent emotional pain. Plus it ends in an apocalypse which really emphasizes how meaningless sex and drugs can take away a person's compassion and ability to empathize with fellow human beings. It also has a wonderfully whacky art style. But people will forever know it as the monster titty anime and thus I can never recommend it to anyone I know in real life or I'll be branded a sex pervert.
Those are four anime that I think are as close to perfect as they can be, yet I can't recommend them to people because of how specific they are.
If someone who's never watched anime before wants to get into anime, I sure as hell wouldn't start them with any of these, except perhaps nge because it doesn't get too weird until about halfway through.
And if someone does watch anime, I still won't necessarily recommend them because all of these shows except for Evangelion, are weird from the get go.
They're weird and not for everyone.
They personally are my absolute favorites but I'm a little weird.
I like anime that push boundaries and have cohesive plots that don't waste too much time on fillers. Anime where it really feels like the characters' arcs were thought out and their relationships with others were clearly planned or decided upon before they started making it, so you can see symbols or signs of what is to come.
People have the tendency to assume that because I'm asexual I hate sex in any form, but I don't mind it at all when it's got a narrative purpose.
I always have to remind people devilman crybaby is like, one of my favorite anime of all time and that thing was dripping in fluid.
Literally, in some scenes.
Anyway though, off topic.
There are other anime I really love, like anohana, Kimi no uso, Hellsing Ultimate, but these aren't embarrassing anime to admit.
And if I'm honest, I still like them but wouldn't say they're my favorites.
My favorites are apparently the very weird and rather self aware anime where the intention wasn't to make a long drawn out franchise that could produce consistent merchandise to churn money out of children's pockets, but tell an honest story about humanity and all its messy flaws, from sexuality, both hetero and homosexual and bisexual, to emotional insecurity to pettiness to greed, to selflessness.
I know that sounds so fucking pretentious but goddamn, i just really forget sometimes that there are anime out there that don't suck completely.
And are actually..............
Hm, can't say it cuz I may die. But you can guess what I was going to say.
