for whatever reason i have found myself reading..... multiple korean yaoi webtoons now

im actually super into this one im reading rn, ostensibly about a dude who thinks a deaf guy’s voice is hot and the deaf guy gets turned on by dude’s signing; that silliness and the sex scenes i scroll past aside, it has a nice overlying message about treating people w disabilities like normal-ass humans instead of helpless babies, good points on healthy relationships, communication, and apologies, and is just generally kinda sweet for being, well, a comedy/smut comic

anyways point is i finished (caught up on) the other one i read so reading this one now im noticing little....similarities? and im curious if its like, korean tropes or something im not culturally aware of. for instance, in both stories, the main character is a young college-aged guy who is working part time while attending school (in this one, hes on a break from school until the second ~season~ tho), who meets an older man in the place of one of their employments, and falls for him (MUCH LESS AGE GAP IN THIS ONE THAN THE OTHER LOL). they start out with a purely sexual relationship, and then through trials and tribulations of life, eventually fall in love. both stories’ main characters also have close friends who are a male + female couple where they’ve known the girl longer, who are either in college w them or were.

ADDITIONALLY both stories have one side character with a... very specific look and attitude i dont know the Term For but must be some sorta Thing bc its kinda uncanny

villain genki? wide, narrow eyes, high brows, either menacing or friendly with little in-between; start out as an antagonist and then realize they dont wanna hurt him and instead become buds with the very forgiving MC

anyways theres no real point to this post im just puking thoughts while enjoying silly gay romances

Thats entirely fair i don't think anyone trusts tumblr to work correctly tbh. Ive just been feeling the seasonal blues a bit. Ah heck why do teachers always do that instead of letting up on the workload. I do have a bit of chill time coming up thankfully which will be great because i need rest & to holiday shop. Oh heck i cant imagine that like. Americans are a mixed bag of overly friendly & minders of their own business but a place where its all overly friendly would be a culture shock to me. That feels like the universal experience with talking to native spanish speakers just. Yeah we can guess kinda what's bein said through context & gesticulating. Finding a few recipes you can do & rolling from there is just how it goes i imagine. But ive been cooking for many years so i had to branch out to keep some variety otherwise meals would be boring. I have wireless earbuds but only because like. People talk to me often when im not expecting it & it bothers me a lil because the mental illnesses so its easier to listen to stuff & use that as my reason for not hearing them. Australia truly is the land of wild shit. Its got that category on lock. Wow thats like. Complete spectrum opposite teachers? Almost? Maybe? ANYWAY COMING BACK linguistics will always be fascinating to me....... especially etymology. i love etymology. AND YEAH SAME i thought the day would never come in which i would care about a genshin guy and yet. also hey were matching......... i used to also always forget to level up talents but since traces are a bit more accentuated in the star rail tut it kinda carried over to genshin for me i guess. 7 am classes have caused me to go through all stages of grief but, just like those, i have reached Acceptance. at least theres less people on the bus so i can sit down. as with himeko, i wouldnt consider myself an Expert on seele lore [if you have any further questions and/or want a more in-depth analysis of her, i would redirect you to tumblr user crowties] BUT i do know it. decently well. it goes without saying that this is also gonna contain massive spoilers.

so, seele's [as well as bronya's!] backstory is mainly showcased in the azure waters manga [although, do be warned that it features themes such as: physical and psychological abuse, child soldiers, pedophilia, and [minor on minor] attempted sa]. but moving on from all that.

seele grew up in cocolia's orphanage, in siberia, where she also met bronya after she was picked up by cocolia. she was also born with a certain condition, being a natural stigma [stigmata in the honkaiverse are manifestations of honkai energy which people are very rarely born with, but schicksal for example uses artificial ones to boost valkyries' combat capabilities]. that very stigma belonged to the herrscher of death in the previous era and is fully sentient! im gonna call her veliona so that its harder to mix them up but do know that theyre both referred to as seele in the game [and its actually a pretty important part of their identity that theyre both seele]. now the thing about seele and veliona is that you think theyre gonna be a terrible did stereotype and then theyre. Not. as in veli, at first, does act like "the evil alter" but shes actually just pretty mean but wants to protect seele. since seele is just. Very fragile due to being, you know, a timid 12 y/o.

in the orphanage, another one of the kids was sin mal! she exists solely to be a terrible person but i heard that wasnt the case in guns girl z so i defend her anyway. sin was jealous over the fact that bronya and seele became so close despite seele being weak, so she PUSHED BRONYA DOWN THE FUCKING STAIRS AND BROKE HER LEGS???? shes that kind of person i guess. seele actually saw it happen but she was too scared to do anything. which, understandable! sin is extremely volatile.

seele then gets Kidnapped by child sex traffickers but bronya singlehandedly finds her and murders everyone responsible. seele is pretty horrified because 1. bronya [also 12] just killed a bunch of people in front of her and 2. she saw a manifestation of veliona that made her feel Happy that this is happening. veli is not very good at communication and also genuinely considers herself a terrible person at that point in time so that doesnt help with the evil alter allegations but oh well.

then. cocolia, at the request of anti entropy [allegedly?] starts carrying out child experiments, meant to make people achieve 100% honkai resistance. the people selected are bronya and sin, but seele volunteers in bronyas place since theyre pretty dangerous. right before that, however, sin attempts to assault seele, which veliona does Not let slide, so she rips out sins tooth and then traps her consciousness in an illusion in which she pushes her down the stairs and then slices off her fingers. good riddance.

however, the x-10 experiment Fails and seele falls into the sea of quanta, going missing. tho right as its about to happen, veliona actually uses a lot of her power to let seele see the sea, because she made a promise with bronya that they would go together someday. right as shes about to reach bronya, her power runs out and they completely disappear into the sea.

when bronya finds out about about this, she wants to take the x-10 test herself to try and find seele. cocolia doesnt want to let her go so that SHE DOESNT LOSE MORE CHILDREN, but bronya shows that shes gonna kill herself if cocolia doesnt agree and so she goes. during her test, she. actually manages to reconnect with seele for a while! they kiss and make a promise that theyll see each other again. however, due to bronyas legs still not being fully healed, she actually gets pretty badly hurt [with her legs needing prosthetics, as well as damage to her emotive circuits] during the test and is forcefully disconnected. seele manages to manifest bronya a robot project bunny. somehow. it helps her move and is also a giant cannon.

after this, seele and veliona float in the sea of quanta for 4 years. they grow quite close to each other during this, tho still maintain some distance because veli is just. not very sociable. veliona also makes a deal with an entity called the serpent [which i believe was confirmed to be kevin? but dont quote me on that] because he promises that hell get them out of the sea if they help him escape as well. veli is fully aware hes taking advantage of her but she has to try everything. when bronya jumps into the soq during the herrscher of reason arc, she manages to find seele! at first, velis deal with the serpent forces her to fight bronya, but during cyberangel seele and bronya end up working together. seele is also the one who makes bronya survive contact with the core of reason. as theyre escaping from the sea, bronya almost gets left behind, so seele and veliona achieve full unity during dual ego [IM INSANE ABOUT THEM. I AM INSANE] and they leave the sea.

after that, seele is admittedly Not that present in the main story [tho she does appear a couple of times!] until the moon arc and later the salt snow holy city arc, which is also the best part of the game because i said so and i am always right. SERIOUSLY THO SALT SNOW ARC IS MY FAVORITE IT IS SO GOOD IT IS SO-

anyway. seele and veliona are the protagonists in this one! i would so happily tell you the story but im also unfortunately too tired to give a detailed description of THE ENTIRE ARC so ill keep things short. when dispatched for a mission in nagazora, seele [and susannah! susannah is in this arc. i love her] gets dragged into a bubble universe by misteln [who, due to some events in the moon arc, veliona has extreme beef with]. but its actually a pretty bad thing because, due to the unique structure of the universe [that being, its actually two universes overlapping, one acting as the normal world and the other as the afterlife], seele and veli get separated. this causes significant mental distress to both of them. however, eventually they manage to reconnect! which also accidentally makes them the sage of the universe [a special role, usually reserved for one person] since they fulfill the criteria of being able to traverse between life and death. the problem is, theres..... already a sage....... and the universe starts collapsing. after a fight, the previous sage gives up her powers and seele gets sealed in her tower to act her role. it turns out that her becoming the sage wasnt what actually triggered the collapse, and so the team [consisting of seele, veli, susannah, kira, niggurath, senti, misteln, prometheus, vita, and schrodinger] works together to try and prevent it in another way. a Bunch Of Shit happens which i love very deeply but would also take way too long to explain, and seele gets separated from veliona, eventually becoming the herrscher of death [but, vita decides that seele is a far too gentle person to be called that, and so she becomes the herrscher of rebirth]. they manage to save the universes, and also free vita from being a pawn to sa, the force destroying the universe. they get to return home after that :)

i am extremely normal about seele and veliona [they give me mental illness]

pat’s mom is vietnamese and was an immigrant, his dad is reg yt

his dad actually served in the military during the vietnam war and was stationed there. he eventually met pat’s mom and they had a relationship

long story short, his dad brought pat’s mom to america before american troops left saigon

they married in america and lived in a few bases while pat’s mom got her green card and learned english over time

pat’s dad is originally from maine but not derry, eventually the couple moved to derry after his dad became ex military

pat’s mom became fluent in english at this point but she had an accent which people in town made fun of her for 

also were at times racist against her

but dad put a stop to that when he was around or when she brought it up to him

they do like the small town life, prefer it better than being in the big cities or on a military base for sure

soon pat was born and pat’s mom became a stay at home mom most of his childhood, only when he was in middle school to high school did she get a part time job at the library

dad works as a clerk at an office

NOW FOR THEIR PERSONALITIESS

pat’s dad is more calm and laid back although friendly, is a more open minded individual, can actually speak vietnamese!, he doesn’t speak about his military time except if it has something to do with his wife like a memory or smth

pat’s mom is the more extroverted one but not wildly so ambivert maybe?

is DEF the one that will say her opinion if she disagrees with something tho whereas dad will let it pass but she doesn’t express it in an aggressive way (kinda like “i dont agree with that because such and such”)

has no problem chastising pat on chores i.e. washing dishes, laundry, cleaning his room/the house in general lol its kinda funny to see her telling him to do something and he does it with a scowl on his face every time

there are times where she is a bit hard on him, it’s mostly due to how she was raised since in viet culture, a lot of pressure is put on first born sons esp

she does feel bad at times for that though and lays off for awhile

this is also due to avery’s death

since avery died and pat is now their only son, both mom and dad let pat get away with ALOT OF STUFF more than he should esp when it comes to school problems they just feel guilty

and yep u guessed it he takes advantage of that we’re not surprised here

but they are loving parents much to pat’s annoyance lol 

pat’s mom conceals her viet accent in public tho, due to comments ppl in town have made about it 

but at home she doesn’t care to keep it up

she tried to teach pat viet, still hoping he becomes fluent at some point lmao but thats a pipe dream and she kinda knows it loool

she talked to pat in viet when he was a baby, and to this day he understands what she says in viet but he just responds in english (cant write viet either)

its cuz he’s lazy and doesn’t see a point in learning it its for the culture u bastard omfg

VERY RARELY he will reply ONE WORD to his mom in viet (like she asked to pass her the salt or some shit and he says “yeah here” or smth) and she smiles every time he rolls his eyes

if she has trouble understanding something, his dad will translate in vietnamese for her 

yes she makes viet food including pho but she has to replace trad ingredients for whatever replacement she can find at the store

pat’s mom was originally catholic, his dad wasn’t but they all go to church together so pat was raised catholic (i think it mentions in the book that he is but idk and am too lazy to look it up again ealfvneakv)

he’s baptized, received first communion and is confirmed and yes there are pictures of it in his house lmaooo but he’d rather die then talk about it so not even the bowers gang know about it

his parents love him obv cuz they good parents

he’s rather annoyed by their existence and its not overly friendly nor overly mean to them

they’re just kinda... there.. at times to him

like roommates lol its sad but they dont realize his true feelings obv

however he doesn’t like it when ppl in town make racist comments about his mom or his dad being married to her and death glares at any person that makes a comment

both his parents try to blend viet and american culture in their household

they like the other bowers gang bois and are very nice to them, they give them advice when needed, they usually leave the bois alone tho if they are hanging out at pat’s place while they’re there

they also tell the story of how they met and left vietnam together and got married every anniversary to pat and he feels like his soul is being ripped out of his skin every time alskvnarlab he doesn’t care AT ALL

lmao aw ily, you can always come to me if u want my opinion related to anything stanford (stereotypes about dorms, sports teams, greek life, a cappella ??) because i have A Lot Of It - i only wish i was more integrated with the school cuz most of my opinions are hearsay instead of personal experience

major stereotypes….hmm thats hard cuz there are So Many majors but i can just go with the most common ones and group some together, etc

engineering:

aero/astro - small department full of space nerds, most of them are in SSI, drones, i personally consider them very brainy and if i were better at engineering i would be aero/astro cuz i think it’s the next frontier. there should definitely be more women in it for sure

bioe - my ex was bioe, they’re a bunch of nerds but they have good enough hearts. they care about curing diseases and shit

CS - oh boy. ohhhhhh boy. here we fuckin go. honestly CS is barely even a sterotype at stanford cuz its such a dominant culture…..the people who decide what stereotypes even are, are probably CS. it’s gotten to the point where if i meet someone and they aren’t CS it’s worth noting. it’s gotten to the point where, in my psych/literature/communications/education classes, i expect the other people to be CS. i have so many Opinions on CS Boys because CS Boys are such!!!!a!!!type!!!! (and different from just, a boy who does CS). they worship the trinity of google, facebook, and microsoft. their junior summer internship is at least one of these. they buy into all silicon valley startup culture and they love elon musk and talk about venture capital when its really not welcome. they love talking about how much work they have and how little they sleep. all INTJs. probably virgos. there is also a subgenre of CS boy who didnt come into stanford wanting to do CS and ended up switching because its easier to be a CS Boy at stanford. they criticize the culture all the time. to this you can say, “it’s all right, craig, i know you just want to make money.”

CME - people major in this when they dont love themselves

design - i personally think this major is fuckin cool and considered it before i realized physics was a pre-req. the d school is thought to be d for douchey though because their whole shtick is so ~ideate~ ~prototype~ ~We Are Quirky and Put Post-Its On Walls~ but i dug it as a frosh. they can be kinda condescending, but theyre by far the most interdisciplinary dept in the engineering major (although its also full of white men who think theyre hot shit cuz they can use photoshop)

EE - again for people who lack self love, its supposed to be so fuckin hard

MS&E - white frat boys who glorify jordan belfort

ME - similar to design. live at the PRL. stay up till ungodly hours carving wood. somehow this is enjoyable. also white male heavy

who knows how the f to categorize this:

education - if i could do stanford over i would major in this. usually very diverse, woke, often come from underprivileged backgrounds so they want to make it better for other people and reach communities that arent currently benefited (unlike silicon valley or wall street :) ) i respect them because they do what they love and not to make $ although if educational engineering were a thing im certain people would jump ship. it’s also not in the humanities dept so i feel like theyre Above the stanford hegemony and i love that

earthsys - i considered a minor in this. usually sweet, earth-friendly people. white but woke. possibly queer. granola loving hippies and maybe some frathletes who want an “easy” major but not sure (im not shitting on easy majors. i have one. love ‘em)

generally i like girls in any of the engineering depts because they are dealing with sexism and doing it. the boys are oftentimes extremely self-congratulatory and will usually say something dumb about the humanities. even the girls will hit you with the “oh i wish i could study that!” about any non-engineering discipline, and it’s implied that what they’re really saying is “but i care about my future too much!” 

humanities/sciences:

AAAS/chicanx studies/asian-american studies/CSRE - woke poc who use lots of buzzwords and say things like folx

art - the people who major in art are usually more quiet than you’d think. we have an Artsy Type at stanf that are kind of extra (theta chi/EBF types, also very woke QPOC) but i dont think theyre art majors for the most part. i barely know any actual art Majors. lots of engineers just do art on the side

bio - i love bio majors because they are sciency but also get shit on by engineers so we’re in solidarity. they are sweet and study all the time and just wanna make the world a better place. there’s also the pre-med kind of bio who i would hate if i were also pre med but since im not i just kind of admire and fear them

chem - i like chem people much more than i thought i would. again a very small major and they just live in lab and have varied non chem interests. this year i accidentally became friends with like 6 people from the chem fraternity and i was surprised how much i liked them

complit/english - i was this major! english in creative writing are usually chill, interesting people. complit and english in literature…….it’s a shakespeare circlejerk and they hit you with the Discourse. overly educated white people. avoid the boys specifically but the girls can also be incredibly self-satisfied. maybe 50/50. but if you take a creative writing class instead of a lit class, the CW kids are usually awesome

taps - our drama department. they’re nice, but extra and intimidating. (also stanford theater is…..okay….not really as good as they seem to think it is yikes that was mean but) however, like with english, take an introductory class and you’ll meet very cool non-taps majors.

econ - oftentimes wonderful people! outside of class that is

femgen - same people as the AAAS/CSRE crowd except whiter. queer girls with undercuts. upperclassmen are intimidating to many. everyone shares their opinion even when its not warranted. my honors is in this

film studies - this was almost my minor and if i werent CW i might have doubled in film and comm! i dont know any film majors but if they arent a cole sprouse im sure theyre fine (they are probably a cole sprouse)

german/italian/french/spanish language or studies - spot the person who studied abroad!

history - like english, can be cool, more likely pretentious

humbio - the other premeds! actually humbio gets shit on alllll the time for being easy or having a fluff major, bio majors think they’re soft. thus, i like them. their course catalog is awesome and its a huge major but all the scary pre meds are straight up bio and humbios are softer but in a good way its a lot of sweet girls

intl relations - one of my favorite majors. usually very down to earth, the best of the IR/poli-sci/pub-po trinity. however, they can also be self-congratulatory for being So Woke and also they love to educate you when You Didn’t Ask

linguistics - weird, diverse people. very small major. similar to anthro, my old major. i love small majors they always have cute dinners together

MCS - a hard fuckin major. not as “Look How Smart I Am” as a bad CS. mostly quiet and stay in and study their ass off

math - love to wax poetic about the beauty of math. fun when drunk. not when sober

philosophy/MTL/classics - avoid. classics can be okay if it overlaps with archaeology because theyre just a bunch of nerds and they get really excited and its cute. phil majors would rather just educate you about how free will is fake and youre like tim can you please just get out of the way we’re in the dining hall and you’re blocking the cornbread

physics - Avoid. they think all other sciences are lesser. women and POC are ok

poli-sci - hit or miss. generally pretty friendly. very talkative. fun to talk to about Not Politics

psych - the best major hehe. generally liberal and woke and often queer. however, non-psych people in psych classes can be a nightmare (unlike english, taps, etc) and problematic as fuck. also sometimes psych majors are extra (exhibit a: me)

pub policy - probably in student government. im biased against it, but go in with hesitation. student government is by and large not as effective as they seem to think (however, a “woke” person in pub po might be cool because they will campaign for sexual assault awareness and economic diversity and good stuff)

STS - ohhhhh man. probably the major that gets most shit on at stanford. i think engineers think it’s fake. (humbio, design, and STS get shit on the most i’d say, because they are interdisciplinary STEM majors, so engineers think that they’re for people who arent smart enough to do hard majors. whereas with english or IR, engineers know they couldnt do it because they havent written an essay since 2009, so they offer grudging respect) a frathlete major. i personally like it because i dig interdisciplinary shit, but i don’t dig frat boys or athletes so i avoid. some of their courses are great but it does seem kind of scrapped together as a major and i dont know how people outside of stan see it

urban studies - skaters? who knows. i respect them tho. i think they care about….like….architecture? and city development? its a very niche thing and i feel like it’s pretty hip n happening

Buda buda Budapest we are NOT on a drinking fest

So I dont wanna brag or anything but I am writing this piece at 11:30 after a lon hot day on a bus after a deceptively stressful start to the bus journey. God knows what's in store for the rest of it... But let's rewind, I'll finish on this little tale after I start at the beginning. So we have been in Hungary for the past four days. More specifically Budapest. Shock. Tourists going to Hungary and only visiting Budapest. Hmmm who would do that..? Sorry a slight lack of inventiveness on our behalf. But no, there is a reason we all visit buda and pest, they're sick. What? Buda and pest. I thought it was just Budapest. Ok. A little history lesson for y'all. Budapest used to be two towns, buda and pest, on either side of the river. They merged though and made Budapest. Nice eh? Pretty cute I think. So Budapest. I've been her before woooo. Back in the day before I had a beard and long hair. When I was 17. Yes I know I still look 17 but I swear I'm not. On that note I looked about 15 on that trip. I may look back at photos actually that may be funny, although, being only boys on the trip I reckon I won't have many photos. One of the great things about girls. They photo document life. Actually that's also one of their worst features. Too much camera. So our stay here started poorly. Pur hostel was a fake. Or at least we think it was. It wasn't in the building it says it was and no one had heard of it.... Hmmm. Some mice backpackers pointed Us to a new one though and we made it. Bad start. Annoying start. Whatever, we survived. This day was long. Little sleep in the bus followed by lits of heat meant we were drained. We took a nap in the park next to the river. Yep. Took full advantage of Budapest's culture. Budapest is another lush city. Gorgeous buildings. Not too busy. Everyone's friendly and lots to do. We liked it. Only issue, its a wee bit touristy. People are always selling and asking for money. I HAVEN'T GOT ENOUGH TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING, I'M SORRY. there's a lot to see in the city. A citadel, parliament, more churches, a monument, a palace, in short lots. And I am here wondering do y'all give a s**t about that stuff and my adoring description of it all? Answer probe not. And I may not be a mind reader but I reckon I know exactly what you are all thinking. HOW MUCH DID BEERS COST? Ah I'm glad you asked Karen. They were more expensive than Poland waaaaaaa. I had To go to Aldo, urgh. But seriously Budapest is lush. Having forgotten everything from my school trip 6? Years ago it was a new city. We even saw a (slightly underwhelming) cave church especially if you've been to coober pedy (amirite dad??) He he he. We made one drastic mistake than I will take the blame for. Our decision to go on a "hike"/walk on the hottest most humid day. Urgh. It was tough and tiring but we made it. The longest sight seeing day and it was boiling. Urgh. But beautiful nevertheless. However spirits were low and tensions were high. Oh side note, the palace. You can wander round the grounds and I think go inside. A PERFECT example of exactly what should happen at Buckingham palace (amirite Hannah). A tourist attraction better and more interesting than merely looking at it through metal gates and last armed gates. The ability to feel and experience the history and not feel like a peasant with a class so low they cannot be within 100m of " her majesty" oh god. I can't believe I just wrote that even or it was sarcastic. Its a joke. Get jezza in power. Actually make him king. Then he'd rescind the monarchy and make it a republic. Knight jezza I agree. The monarchy is archaic and undemocratic, anyone who disagrees please fb message me for a chat. Xoxo. So I have evaded a crucial activity we undertook during our stay at this lovely city. Please keep me focussed guys. Don't let me rant especially about the monarchy I won't stop. Side note 2: I have realised my three most passionate subjects for discussion are: the abolition of the monarchy, the legalisation of drugs and my dislike of social media. Call me if you want I debate. I love these topics. Anyhow. My next point. A trip undertaken yesterday. Very enjoyable. A day at the Turkish baths. Oh yeah. Yeah baybey. It was lolz. Bathing in different pools, different temperatures, different sizes, different depths, different currents, different weird creepy old people and different overly excited annoying kids. All lots of fun though. I felt relaxed afterwards. Like proper zen. There was also a sauna and steam room. We sweated put all our regrets and mistakes. Slash beer. A true cleansing. Post bathe new skin new me kind of vibes. At the end I even did a wee bit of skin therapy. 2 mins cold pool then 30 secs warm pool and again. Good for the pores. My body is a temple I know. It was jokes but sadly we picked the one day that wasn't only not hot, it was actively cold, great. Cheers god. I went to loads if churches and this is what you give me? Grrrrrr. I'll surrender 9 fattened calves to Gain your favour again pleaseeeeee. Lol. Sorry calves. No worries. So on to this bus journey. It started (the stress) 2 hours ago. We leave the hostel. Stroll to the train stop. Tickets pre bought nothing can stop us. Its closed. What? Ye its closed. We panic. Bus leaves in 35 mins. Ok fine still time. But the next stop is too far to walk especially with no guarantee it'll be open. Dilemma. Do we risk it? No silly. Taxi. Owww I hate taxis. So expensive. Looking at the metre is also so stressful. You're money just ticking away we make it, 5 euros worse off grrrrr. We find the bus with 5 mins to spare easay. I go to put the bags in the bus. A man there. 1 euro per bag he says. Um no. F off. I've bought my ticket and have no more cash. He takes my bags out and rips off the label. Hmm. He means business. I call his bluff, he just wants pocket money. We chat to some people they've all paid. Ah. We check the ticket, 1 euro fee on arrival for under bus luggage. Ah awkward. We scramble for two euros. 60c short. Eek. Two guys in front offer help, legends. They have 50c. We all search desperately for the illusive 10c it evades us. What'll happen? No big bag? No bus? Deportation from the country? Prison sentence? Death penalty? Your guess is as good as ours. I dont know the Hungarian justice system well especially with gringos. But no. An angel sent by god arrived. In form of a backpacker who beard our strife. She perked up and offered her 10c. I virtually fainted with relief. A true moment of heroism and solidarity amongst tourists. I strutted to the man handed the money with a smirk. His look was passive I may as well have not been there. But we're here. On the bus and on our way to Belgrade. Woo Serbia, new country for the list, exciting. Anyhow 40 mins later its now 12:10 and bed time for George. Sleep tight everyone. G.
