•LOVES to show you off (much to your dismay) in more of a “Look at my s/o! Aren’t they so pretty/handsome!” Way. Definitely tries to build up your confidence a bit but he won’t force it

•Date nights with him would probably consist mostly of cuddling up on the couch/bed, binging shows (mostly starlight knight) at each others homes or going to eat in a secluded part of the city.

•Billy is DEFINITELY going to struggle picking up on behavioral cues from you, he may not be able to tell straight away when something’s wrong so communication is extremely important for him! You’d have to speak up about any issues you have with him or he’s gonna be clueless until it hits him in the face.

•As for physical affection, he LOVES holding you/having some sort of physical contact with you most of the time. Whether it’s a hug, hand holding, cuddling, as long as he’s close to you he’s content. "Thank you again for arranging all of this", your mother in-law thanked you, "I'll let you know when they pick us up".

Oscar's birthday coincided with the race weekend, and since it was the first one after Lucas was born, you thought it would be nice to have everyone together in the same place to celebrate your husband's birthday.

"Are you packing up?", Oscar said as he saw you pack Lucas' toys in the diaper bag, "yes, he's really fussy so I think we have to skip qualifying today", you kissed his cheek as he helped you, "you need a quiet nap, little one? You do, don't you?", he asked Lucas, bouncing him on his hip before he let you take him from his arms and into your sling, wrapping him safely against your body, "you and mummy enjoy yourselves and then I'll join you, okay?", he kissed the top of his head before kissing your lips, "stay safe, I love you", he smiled.

"Stay safe as well, okay? We love you and we'll see you at the hotel", you kissed his lips again, lifting Lucas' arm so he could wave at his father.

Arriving at the hotel just as Chris sent you a text saying they were on their way to the hotel, making you go up to the room and settle all your things, change Lucas' diaper and putting him back on the sling so you could go downstairs when they arrived.

"Grandma and grandpa are downstairs, my love, let's go meet them!", you spoke, grabbing the room card and heading to meet your in-laws.

"Look at the little one, he's gotten so big!", Chris was the first to speak as you stepped closer them as the man at the reception desk finished the details so he could hand them the card for their room.

"He looks so much like Oscar, but the lips are all you, Y/N", Nicole said, kissing your cheek, "how are you, dear?".

"I'm good, did you guys have a good flight?", you said as you stepped into the elevator, rubbing Lucas' back over the sling as he was fighting sleep, "He's been wide awake just taking in everything around him, but around this time yesterday, he started fussing so it actually works best to be here anyway - I can't wait for Oscar to see you guys!", you beamed.

Oscar arrived at the hotel and bid goodbye to the rest of the team before swiping the card on the door, ready for some cuddles with you and your little boy when he heard a laugh way too similar to his mother's, "hey, I'm back", he announced.

Chris got the small cake you got with the two candles, singing happy birthday as Oscar hugged his parents after gasping in surprise, "Happy Birthday to you!", Chris sang before Oscar blowing the candles, "what are you doing here?", he mused.

"Y/N flew us over so we could spend your birthday together", Nicole offered, kissing his cheek.

"Look who's up", Oscar cooed as Lucas looked up at him, stretching his arms so his father could pick him up, "hey, buddy, we're having a little party of our own, aren't we?", he gushed.

Nicole offered to put Lucas to sleep while Chris unpacked their stuff in their room so you and Oscar could go to the hotel restaurant and enjoy a meal together without the baby, "thank you for doing this, love", he kissed your knuckles.

You had been going down to Cousins for as long as you could remember. You always came down with the Fishers and would stay for only half the summer. Then when the 4th of July hit, your mom would come down to hang out at the beach house before taking you home. However, that changed this summer since your motm wanted you to participate in the Debutante Ball with Belly.

Things had changed since a couple summers ago. You ended up in a messy relationship with one of the football players at your high school, Lucas. The two of you broke things off since neither of you could provide what the other wanted. It broke you. Your friends comforted you, sure, but Conrad’s comfort was the only thing to get you through the break up.

You then had to reciprocate that same comfort after he and Nicole broke things off because of an unknown reason. Just like what happened after you and Lucas, you comforted him in the beach house bedroom. The only difference was the outcome of your care. That's when the pattern of hooking up as “just friends'' started. That's when your true feelings for Conrad finally emerged.

Now here you two were, making out to TV Girl’s “Lover’s Rock” on his bed. It was truly romantic in the most platonic way possible. You laid on top of Conrad as his hands ran up and down your thighs gently like you were fragile. Your mind strayed off during the long period of kissing.

The Deb ball was coming up in the next couple of days and it seemed like all your Deb sisters had an escort but you. Now that both you and Conrad were out of your complicated relationships, it left you with an open opportunity to ask him.

You then thought about how Belly would react to that, she’s always had an obvious crush on Conrad. Would that be betraying her? No because she started dating Cam and now she’s going with Jeremiah. Why would she care if you went with Conrad when she’s obviously occupied with other guys?

You pulled away from the kiss and looked down at him, clearly distressed. Being only friends didn’t feel right to you anymore, frankly because your crush on Conrad grew to the point where it was hard to ignore. He furrowed his eyebrows and cracked a smile. “What?”

You got off of him and flopped down onto the mattress next to him. You laid on your side and met his gaze. “Conrad?” you mumbled.

He chuckled, “Yeah?”

You took a deep inhale and looked up at the ceiling. The tips of your ears felt piping hot, the words hung in your throat ready to escape. It was just one simple question. You finally blurted it out, “Would you… Would you like to be my escort to the Deb ball?”

Your heart raced as you met his gaze again. His expression shifted from playful confusion to pure authentic confusion. “What?” he asked. “Why?”

That wasn’t the reaction you were hoping for. You didn’t expect him to flat out say yes, but you didn’t expect him to sound so… confused?

“Well,” you started, “I don’t have an escort yet and I just thought now that you and Nicole aren’t a thing and Wes and I aren’t a thing that we could go… together.”

You couldn’t picture yourself going with anyone else. You couldn’t picture yourself with anyone else, period. Only Conrad. It was always only Conrad.

“Y/N, be honest,” he sighed. “Do you have feelings for me?” You suddenly felt feverishly hot as your cheeks flushed with embarrassment. You transferred your gaze down to the hem of his t-shirt as an excuse to not look him directly in his eyes. All you had to do was say no, but the silence was his answer. “Y/N, I thought we were gonna keep this strictly just being friends.” He pinched the bridge of his nose while letting out a long exhale,

“Yeah, well have you met you?” you argued. “It’s pretty hard not to fall in love with you and your mysterious persona.”

The seriousness on his face melted away as he chuckled. “Mysterious persona?” He laughed harder which eased your nerves slightly. You cracked a nervous smile and he collected himself before speaking again, “How long have you felt this way?”

Your feelings for Conrad had always been hidden deep in your heart, but they didn’t become known until that night at Shayla’s party. “The first night we fucked after Nicole dumped you.” It wasn’t unbearably long, but it was still too long to keep a secret that big.

His hands cupped your cheeks, lifting your chin up so you could meet his eyes. “I like you, don’t get that mixed up,” he said, “but relationships are really messy. I just don’t want you getting hurt.”

You brought your hand up to meet his and cracked a small smile. “I know, but if we don’t try something, we’ll never know where it could lead us to?” You felt your heartbeat accelerate. You had only ever done this one before and that was with Lucas. “At least tell me what you think we should do. You’re the smartest person I know.”

He knew how breaking things off with him affected you mentally. He didn’t want to be the reason you ever felt that kind of pain again. Conrad smiled and leaned forward. He placed a light kiss on your lips, “Is the dance still the same?” You giggled and placed your forehead against his. “I hope that means yes.” His thumb stroked your cheekbone. You closed your eyes and savored the contact.

“Yes,” you laughed, “it does.”

His warm breaths mixed with the feeling of his soft yet firm hands on you made you feel secure. He was your safety net. The person who could always make sure you were okay even when things weren’t looking up. He was yours to keep.

Terzo, after a particularly boring meeting, walked out of the office with eagerness. Today was no regular day. Today was his stellina’s first day of kindergarten, and he wanted to hear all the details. His stride came to a sudden stop when he heard faint sniffling and the sound of your voice saying,

“No, baby… that’s not true at all.”

Was his sweet Violetta… crying?

After a brief pause in his tracks, Terzo’s paternal instincts kicked in as he instantly began heading in the direction of his daughter’s pained voice, desperate to fix the source of distress. As he turned the corner and headed towards the crying, he noticed your shadow, just barely visible beyond the doorframe of your daughter’s room.

“I think Papa’s here, sweetie. I’ll be right back.” He heard you say, stepping outside of Violetta’s room with teary eyes as the heart-wrenching sound of her crying continued.

“What’s wrong? What happened?” Terzo frantically questioned, placing his hands on your arms, desperate to know what was making his sweet girl cry.

“She… the kids at school were mean to her. About her birthmark.” You explained in a choked whisper, rubbing tears from your eyes.

Your daughter, Violetta, was born with a red birthmark adorning the right side of her face. You two had discussed the struggles and judgement she may face when entering school, but were not at all prepared for the outburst you were witnessing.

Without thinking twice, Terzo entered Violetta’s room, and was faced with a tragic sight: his precious, perfect, beautiful daughter sitting on the carpet, bawling her eyes out.

“Papaaa…” she wailed, tears running down her face, holding out her arms so her daddy would hold her.

“Oh la mia stellina, come here, Papa’s got you…” he cooed, scooping her up into his arms and holding her against his chest.

A familiar ache began to grow in Terzo’s heart and throat, one that meant tears would soon follow.

“Papa… I’m ugly…” she cried against his neck.

Ugly?

His sweet, beautiful, perfect girl thought she was… ugly?

Who even taught her that word?

How could someone say that to her?

And why?

Terzo had never wanted to cry so much in his entire life. And he did. As he held his sweet baby girl in his arms, he couldn’t prevent tears from rolling down his face as well.

“They wouldn’t let me play with them because I scared them… They said I’m ugly.” she cried into his jacket.

Terzo was heartbroken. But that didn’t matter. What mattered is that she was.

From the moment Terzo layed eyes on his daughter, he knew he would make it his life’s mission to protect her from the cruelness of the world.

Her heart glimmered, like glass, but was fragile as well. He knew a heart as precious as hers was bound to be broken more than once. But he swore on his life he would always piece it back together somehow, no matter how much it hurt. No matter how badly the cuts from the shards stung, no matter how bloody his hands got, he would fix it. For her.

“La mia Violetta, la mia dolce bambina, tutto il mio mondo,” he began, taking a seat on her bed and holding her on his lap as you followed and sat beside them.

“You are not ugly. You are beautiful, la mia stellina. The most beautiful girl in the world.” He said, kissing all over her face. “You are the prettiest girl in the world. Do not let their mean and untrue words hurt you.”

Terzo continued to hold his daughter as you stroked her hair and rubbed her back, giving her words of reassurance and love. After the crying began to slow down and she had time to let out her tears, Terzo decided to enlighten her on a secret.

“You are a big girl now. You are… four years old now?” Terzo asked, knowing the answer.

“Five, Papa!” she said, holding up her little hand to show five fingers.

“Ay, five?!” Terzo dramatically said, placing his hand over his heart and drawing back in false shock. There is no way my little girl is five already! Well, if that’s true, I suppose you are big enough to know…” He contemplated, tapping his chin with his finger.

“Know what?” She replied enthusiastically.

“A very special secret.” He replied with a wink.

“Please, Papa, please!” Violetta begged, her eyes, similar to your own, gleaming with curiosity and wonder.

“Okay… between you and me-“ Terzo slyly looked to the left, and to the right.

“Your birthmark is what some would call the mark of Satanas.” He explained, leaning into her ear with his gloved hand cupping the side of his mouth.

“Mark of Sa…tan…as?” she struggled to pronounce, tilting her head to the side.

“The birthmark on your face is the devil’s kiss. That means you were chosen by Satan himself, you are special.” You explained gently.

“Satan chose me?” she beamed.

“Yes, you.” Terzo continued, gently pinching his daughter’s soft cheek to elicit a giggle.

Although you two raised Violetta Satanist, you knew she would not have any chance at making friends if the other kids were to discover this. You deeply valued your faith, but you also valued your happiness and safety.

“But remember, this is a secret. You are a very special girl, chosen by the devil himself, but the other kids may not understand this. So when somebody asks what’s on your face, you just tell them, ‘I was born with it.’ And you say it with pride.” Terzo advised her.

“I was born with it.” Violetta repeated.

“Yes, you were. And you should be proud.” he replied.

Terzo looked up from his daughter’s eyes and then into yours, exchanging a loving gaze with you, before you said,

“Your Mama and Papa are very proud of you.”

“I have the devil’s kiss!” She said excitedly.

“Sí, but remember, la mia stellina, nobody gets to kiss your adorable little face more than your Papa.” Terzo said, beginning to kiss all over his daughter’s face, as she erupted into a fit of precious laughter.

“No kisses for me?” you joked, raising an eyebrow at your husband.

“No. I already used all of them on my baby bat here, I apologize.”

This made Violetta giggle and kick her legs excitedly.

“Okay… Maybe I’ll give you one.” He said, planting a quick kiss on your cheek.

“No! No! Me!” Violetta squealed, insistently tapping on her father’s shoulder as the three of you laughed together.

To the world, it was a birthmark. To doctors, it was a diagnosis. But to you, it was something deeper. Something much greater. A gift. A dash of color in a monochrome world, another pigment in the portrait of your life, another shade of glass in your kaleidoscope. She allowed you to see the world differently and beautifully.

She was beautiful.

One day she would realize it.

With parents as amazing as you, how could she not?

I discovered you through your mlb megumi series and immediately fell in love with them. i often find myself checking your blog to see of you’ve released anything new, and i cant help the excitement i feel whenever you announce a new release! the way you write is absolutely breathtaking and i hope you never stop writing.

the way you write the chemistry between characters and the reader genuinely makes me, the reader, feel like i have a real connection with them. i love that you’re still able to capture the characters personality. you write emotions so well and it feels like im in the story, not just reading. its crazy how accurately you portray the transition between emotions.

Hiiiii everyone!! This is so exciting!! Welcome and congratulations for such an amazing opening! ❤️

I’m nico (or nicole), they/them - and i am SO excited to meet and plot with everyone, especially anyone associated with the labs!

jinah was raised nearly from infancy in the labs, and they’re all she’s ever known, but these days she’s pretty disillusioned (pun on her abilities there 🥁) and has some alcoholism issues that are carefully kept from her bosses (we think) from trying to cope these days.

she works officially as an outreach coordinator for n.e.p.a., but really as a general medical assistant (though n.e.p.a. did actually have her put through university for nursing), using her power to help make experiments more compliant, or to create their desired testing environments in the safe and contained space of the labs in order to do better testing. there’s a good chance if you’ve been in the labs you’ve met hani, the single name that gets uttered within earshot of any experiments, though she may not be easily recognizable to the unfortunate victims of the labs. she hates her job, but tries to show kindness and empathy to anyone she comes across in the labs - after all, she grew up in them, and knows exactly all too well what it was like.

so her main is illusion creation which is pretty trippy in and of itself, and while she definitely got up to some pretty nasty pranks during her time at pinnacle (2006-2011), these days she doesn’t really do anything with it outside of work and showing chauvinistic assholes at the bar that they’re not that great. she has minor abilities of memory reading and appearance manipulation, which can be all too useful at times, and also make for some ‘haha funny story moments’

— abilities aside, jinah somehow has a very soft heart and a reputation for being incredibly kind, despite her outwardly stoic/sometimes standoffish demeanor. she recognizes all too well the harm that n.e.p.a. does and while she hasn’t found her way out of the system yet, she does her best to change it from within, or at the very least be the tiny bit of kindness that everyone needs in their lives
