Epel knew that Ruggie could be running errands at this time, so he decided to approach his senior during club hours instead.

The young boy spotted his senior coaching the other Magift club members on their warm-up. He was about to call him when he realized what he was wearing. Dismay flitted across his features. He would definitely get made fun off because of his clothes. Epel would need to think of a way to only get Ruggie’s attention.

Right when Ruggie was about to follow the Magift club members with their laps, he caught sight of a paper airplane. It flew right over him and landed on the ground. It would have been crushed under the shoes of the athletes if he were not so quick on his feet.

“Now where did you come from?” Ruggie mused, turning the airplane around to see if there is any indication of a name. From the outside, it seems like there is no signature, but it is addressed to him.

“You can come out, Epel,” Ruggie chuckled, turning around to spot the first year discreetly leaving. Epel stopped in his tracks. Shoot, he thought, I’ve been caught!

Well, better explain it to Ruggie rather than leaving without notice. When the second-year student approached Epel, he had a teasing grin on his face. “A love letter, huh? Who is it from?”

“Eh?” Epel blinked. “But didn’t they wrote their name on the letter?”

“Did,” Ruggie replied, looking over at the now-opened paper airplane as his eyes skimmed over the letter, “but it didn’t really narrow down to who.”

Epel noticed Ruggie’s crinkled nose, obviously holding back a snicker at what he is wearing. He tugged on the straps of his wings consciously. “Well, Rook-senpai wanted—well needed our help in spreading “love” this Valentine's,” Epel explained. “We were tasked to hand out gifts and letters to whoever it is addressed to. I think the gesture is somehow sweet even if you have little idea who wrote to you.”

“Then will you give them this?”

Epel held out his hand and received a folded piece of paper. It looked like it has been quickly ripped from a notebook. He looked up at Ruggie a bit confused. The beast-folk looked lax, his hands propped behind his head and a grin on his face. “I’ll admit, the sudden confession surprised me. But keeping an admirer waiting anxiously is somehow a dick move on my part.”

Oh, the thought dawned on Epel that he made a slight bounce when he realized. “Oh! Yes, I’ll deliver this to them!”

“Shishishishi~ make sure that after you do, you come back and practice, yeah?”

The first-year nodded, smiling at his senior. “I will! I’ll be back as soon as I can, Ruggie-senpai!”

Ruggie watched the first year run away, ears twitching earnestly as he recalled what he wrote in the letter. A fluttering feeling tickled his nape that made him chuckle.

“Yo. This is probably the least romantic letter I’ve ever written…well probably because I never written a letter before nor even received a confession. It’s completely unexpected.

I’ll be straightforward: using the hierarchy of hyenas as a metaphor is a little oof for me, but I get what you mean. I think it’s p cute.

3 PM, Cafeteria. Why don’t you treat me first before saying I love you? It’s unfair you know some things about me when I barely know some things about you.
