Despite her initial reservations when befriending people in Portum, Kahlan had over time become more comfortable with approaching people. After figuring out her concerns stemmed from the misunderstanding and fear of the unknown, she forced herself to ignore all the oddities and focus on the people themselves. Learn who they were at their very core, and build from that so she wouldn’t drive herself mad. Seyfi had been a great help in that department. Teaching and guiding her from the very beginning, which was something that he had absolutely no obligation to do, so that she could move past her fears. There was so much for Kahlan to thank when it came to her favorite person. But quickly another had taken form in her heart. 

Her friendship with Hansa was still pretty new. A mere year in comparison to that of others in her life, but in that year Kahlan had found a person she could no longer imagine a life without. “I just know you cannot be in bed still, I left here two hours ago!” she called out, walking into the home as if it were her own. One of her friends' many snakes made an appearance right around the table Kahlan placed the bag of snacks on. “I was able to find everything you asked for and then some extras. What movie did you end up picking out?”

Ann crouches beside the other woman with a small frown tugging at the corner of her lips as she hears the other speak. Some people might be inclined to reach out and offer a reassuring touch on the shoulder or hand, anything to offer comfort and a sense of companionship. Ann does NONE of those things. She knows better than the majority of the population that while such actions could help some people, there was also a high probability that it could trigger fear or worsen the stress this woman was already under. It would be better to not risk worsening the situation any more than strictly necessary,

" Try to take a few deep breaths. In for four seconds and out for four seconds. " Ann instructions, her voice calm and composed despite the situation. Losing one's cool would do nothing good for anyone, but Ann cannot fault someone for needing a moment to breathe in light of the horror of a new situation. ( And truly, hadn't they all reacted the same when they'd first arrived? One minute they'd been living their ordinary lives. The next, almost everyone in the city had suddenly disappeared and left them in a desolate version of the world they knew).

Ann slings the backpack off of her shoulder and opens it up, rummaging around in it before she pulls out a sealed water bottle and offers it to the other. " Do you think you can drink? If you can, drink this. It should help. " Zipping up her bag, the other woman casts a glance around and then shifts her attention back towards her. " Take as long as you need. You're not injured, are you? "

Logan had invited Karina to one of his christmas gatherings at the cabin, to get her out of the stress of the agency, out from under those prying eyes. He was pleased to say it had worked, and now that his family were leaving for the evening before the snow got any worse, he padded into the kitchen to find her gazing out the back porch french doors. It didn't take him much longer to wander over and wrap her in his arms if only for the comfort of the gesture really, setting his chin atop her head for a moment before she moved and he watched her eyes turn upwards.

Taking a peek himself, he found the sprig of mistletoe there and smiled softly. Logan didn't have to think twice as he gazed into those eyes, brushing some hair back behind her ear. It's not like they hadn't kissed before, but this seemed a bit more sweet. Lifting her chin up with his fingers delicately placed there, Logan leaned down and kissed her tenderly, nothing too deep but also nothing too chaste either. It's Kassa after all...his dearest Kassa.

Once the kiss ends, he might as well go in for another quick one simply because he doesn't want this moment to end. But he allows it and rests their foreheads together, staying in nice and close with his eyes closed, noses gently nuzzling.
