Not to debate with anons, but fiyeraba to me is much improved over the stage version. For one we already know he doesn’t care that she’s green and they make that clear from the start. They make it clear he has no animosity for her, in the musical he’s a total asshole to her only up until the lion cub basically whereas in the movie he comes to school and he waves at her without a single care for how that would be perceived. The “dislike” they have for each other is barely there honestly, it’s moreso that Elphaba is just annoyed with his act (and like I said Fiyero has no issue with her from the start). The other thing is the way they meet is very clearly a meet cute, so it’s obvious from the beginning he’s her love interest. It’s been funny watching people react to the movie and pick up on that right away. I also just think Jonathan and Cynthia have a sweet chemistry: All of this to say, I actually think they’ve done a great job of setting up the obvious jn terms of them liking each other and it already feels more improved than the show. And the other thing is people do actually love the ship lol, there’s a lot of fans on twitter and tiktok so hey :). Just here to offer a contrasting opinion to some of the negativity around the ship, I hope that’s ok!

totally! and i am all ears for people's thoughts and also love the meet cute in the movie in a narrative sense. the musical meeting is more comedic to me but the more intimate meeting in the movie and loook into how Fiyero interacts with an Animal like Feldspar is a cute one!

I love the ship as well, multishiper but i do tend to feel more creative/drawing fiyeraba over my other wicked ships. I love that we are all able to duscus it w/o bashing either ship bc i dont see the need or want to (that tends to happen when discussing ships even tho its not helpful)

all this to say i just hope they keep this dynamic up more into part 2/act 2 as well because as much as book!fiyeraba is my fav, movie!fiyeraba is beating out musical!fiyeraba (for me personally n i cant wait to see their "as long as you're mine " bc omg that song <3)

and ty it is refreshing to come on here away from the negativity of other apps not only shipping wise but like i kinda rambled before and im sure others have too w/the "hot takes" some have on characters that its like yk they havent seen/heard act 2 n i feel like theyd get more clarity once part2 comes out only because of how story/character archs end as oppose to rn where only half has been shown so far.
