one mistake, no matter how costly it may have been, shouldn’t erase all the good that araujo has done for the team. i can only imagine that if the fans are feeling bad, then araujo probably feels a thousand times worse. i hope he knows that real barça fans are right behind him and supporting him no matter what.
While he certainly isn’t exempt from criticism and this stupid action should rightfully be called out — unquestionably it turned the match on its head and some have drawn comparisons between this and the BVB/Atlético game, two different decisions from both defenders with two different outcomes — it irks me to no end to see culers run the sell him ‼️‼️ all his fault gimmick. More so when you can go to 95% of these accounts, type « Araujo » there and be faced with dozens of posts praising him for the numerous times he saved our asses over the past months. If he’d been inconsistent I’d get it; but this is not the case. He’s been one of our most reliable players for months. It was his first quarter final; he made a horrendous, idiotic mistake. He’ll learn. He’s not the only one to single out from this game, doing a comeback at 10 v 11 is hard but certainly not impossible — at home and with a 1 goal lead. The team collectively failed.
Setting the sexta silliness aside for a moment, we’re most probably headed towards a white season, no trophy, nada. It was hardly going to be our year. We were in Europa 2 years ago; in the round of 16th last year; in the quarters this one. Isn’t this what we aimed for? Slow progress, but a steady one. In those 7+ minutes and despite being lead by 2 goals we saw more agressivity from our players than we’d ever seen 3 years ago. We used to be proper abysmal. Right now, we leave the tournament something to work on. Whether we will use our Liga and UCL run as a hard learned lesson and prop ourselves upwards now isn’t so much up to the players — I’ve got no doubt about them — but our board. Xavi’s most probably leaving; Laporta and co have to make the right call. As ever with this club, it’s not so much the ability of the guys running on the pitch but rather of those in suits I doubt.
So yes. All the love to Araújo.

to all that “xavi out” plastic fans i hope youre happy. im sorry but our fanbase is genuinely the stupidest one ive seen, like okay.. xavi left, what now? do they not realize that even if we get a new coach its going to take at least a season for him to get used to barca and the players? these “xavi out” fans expect a new coach to just come along and miraculously flip us around, which realistically is impossible if our players continue with this mentality. and im sorry but every single one of our players deserves these losses (except for a few exceptions), because where tf is your passion! every time we lose a match some of them dont even care! (or at least thats what i think) i think a lot have forgotten what it means to play for barca, and if you cannot give your all to this club, you dont deserve to be here. last point, our fanbase is the problem, some of these fans are genuinely so toxic its sickening. blaming players like yamal, pedri, and even blaming xavi was wrong. if ur a true culer you should genuinely try reading the comments under our insta posts because theyre actually sickening. ive said this before and ill say it again, we shouldve stuck together and supported this team, yes their season has been shit but this fanbase has also contributed to that, and i hope they know that by hating, it wont do us any good. it shows how unloyal some people in this fanbase are, because if you cant support your team through dark times, then maybe you shouldnt deserve being there when theyre at their best.
the fanbase and the spanish media have always been fc barcelona’s worst enemy. simple as that. xavi even said that he and his family has suffered the last 2.5 years. it’s the worst job in the world.
i agree, culers need to be more supportive, but the vitriol from sectors of the fanbase is a disgrace and those who are disloyal don’t deserve to love this club.
