katsuki's whole deal of wanting to become someone izuku can always rely on is everything to me. like i love the self-assessment of i don't measure up. despite the posturing he knows this intimately. and still being like. im gonna get there because i have to. my own physical limitations arent an excuse. deku has to be able to trust im not gonna just get killed when he's not looking.

and like... also being proud of being someone that deku is close to. closest to. growing into actively seeking out his attention and the starry-eyed gaze he couldn't handle when they were kids.
