Give me the cathartic resolution where Oon finally admits to the terrible thing that she's done, and May says she already knows. She's always known. But even though this wasn't Oom, May too let herself pretend. Because this person who wasn't Oom had the same face and the same voice, she said all the right words and did all the right things, she was attentive and caring and kind, like the Ob-Oom that May had in her dreams. And just for a little while, she let herself have this fantasy, where they were happy, even if it was all a lie.

Okay, so I just watched the first three episodes of Pluto and my theories so far:
Ai-Oon is a gay disaster.
May KNOWS that Ai-oon is not Oom and already was in love with her
The grandma deserves to die.
Oom didn't deserve such a wonderful girlfriend like May.
May pretends to be blind (the shower scene helloooooo)

Is it only me who thinks tantai jin and ye bingchang is different sides of a medallion? Both were seen lesser and discriminated against and (possibly) abused*. Both were klnot liked by their family to begin with. Both want more power to save themselves and also ensure they won't be trampled on. But they their methods are different. TTJ is looking for power himself while YBC thinks she can only attain it by being nest to a powerful man.
One has no love thread, the other has two. And it is very interesting to watch their interactions and feelings, how they regard the people around them. While TTJ is seen as heartless and a monster he only takes actions towards people who harmed him, he has a sense of loyalty to people who helped him. And even if he doesn't have a love thread initially he starts to grow feelings (with help of course). YBC wasnt born 'heartless' and she even stole anothers thread so people would love her. But even with the love people showed her she remains closed towards them, only acting the part. She will throw away anyone if she thinks they are of no use to her anymore - and that includes her husband.
Both are constantly scheming and always have masks on. But their masks are very different. TTJ is hiding behind indifference and sometimes he uses peoples misperceptions of him and even elaborates on them. On the other hand YBC is playing the weak but lovely, pure hearted maiden always acting according what she thinks men would like.
It is so interesting to watch their similarities and how they contrast each other. How their lives take different paths despite that. How their past has shaped their future.
*I dont remember if the show mentione she was abused but it is possible since she grew up with ye xiwu.

I would have killed him
an underrated detail in pride and prejudice is that elizabeth bennett was home alone on the day darcy proposed because she had a headache. can you imagine. this was in the pre-painkillers era. you're at home with a headache and then this asshole walks into the room and tells you he loves you and wants to marry you even though he hates your whole family and you're beneath him. imagine having to deal with that while also having a headache. she doesn't even have ibuprofen

gotta give it to the percy jackson fans, you really do love your main character. for other franchises, fans usually place the #1 blorbo title on a specific side character. but in percy jackson you really love your percy jackson

Yesterday, my mother bought a Harry Potter quiz. It has 500 questions, I think. I'm not a fan. I haven't even read the books (except for volume one, but that was years ago). And yet, surprisingly, I could answer quite a few questions, which my mother was confused about.
The answer is simple: Fanfiction. I've been reading a lot of "Harry Potter characters read the books" fanfiction. The most entertaining way to read the books.

Hoarding can be a trauma response because one of the things that trauma can do to a person is make decision making difficult. Throwing things away the "right way" (has to be recycled, or upcycled or sold) confuses the issue of what should be a simple binary "should I keep this or get rid of it" decision and the objects becomes more important than your right to exist in a clean, organized space.
I have struggled with hoarding my whole life because I grew up in a hoarder house. Kondo's TV show gave hoarders like me, obsessed with the correct way to get rid of an object, an out because you have a whole ritual to go through, to thank the object for its service.
When I go through difficult times, I hoard more. I try to keep it confined to one closet, or failing that, one room of the house. Even going in there is traumatic and triggering to me, but I schedule little bouts of "hoard busting" (25 minutes or less) to tackle a single pile or whatever. I make distinct piles, "filing" (for important documents, etc.) "recycle" "goodwill" or "garbage." That covers the easy stuff. The harder stuff is where I get hung up a lot. I ask myself if it sparks joy? A lot of time it does, but it doesn't fit me anymore, or it needs repair or I simply don't have room for one more of these things in my life. Taking the time to sit with the object, say goodbye and thank it for its service sounds incredibly silly but if you're like me, you feel guilty getting rid of things that might be useful, might have sentimental value or have just been there a long time.
Following Kondo's method of organizing drawers has been a godsend for me because I have no idea how to organize things. Drawers in my house growing up were filled with random junk for the most part. You might find a screwdriver or an old piece of jewelry when you are looking for napkins. Her method allows me to fit a lot more stuff into each drawer and to see what I have. This makes me not have to get rid of so much stuff. But at a certain point, something has to give and I have to purge some things. But doing this a couple times a year is very doable compared to agonizing over it every time I do the laundry.

I don't know exactly how "blind" May is meant to be in Pluto, but I think a lot of people misunderstand what being blind means and what blind people are able to do. I work with someone who's considered legally blind (he tells me there are shapes and colours but it's not distinct) and he can get around our office fine without his cane. In the office he knows where everything is, and he is able to navigate without issue, though he would never go out on the street without the cane (one time the company rearranged the office furniture for an event and he ended up knocking over a display, had to use the cane that day). If you live in a place with stairs, try going up or down with your eyes closed. I bet if you've lived there a while and you hold the railing you'll be fine. Don't run, but you already have an idea in your head how many steps there are and what the shape of the stairs is, and how far you've gone.
Similarly, this person is able to work at the same job as me in an IT/technology field using a computer all day. He sets his display to high contrast, very big font, and he zooms in on everything, and he has a screen reader, but he's able to do the job.
Finally, I have never seen my blind coworker bandage a wound, so no direct experience on this one (thankfully), but it doesn't sound that crazy to me. He is perfectly capable of eating his lunch, or using the coffee machine, or the photocopier, or (arguably the most difficult even for someone with working eyes) the goddamn security scanner to get into the building in the first place, all on his own. Having another person to talk you through a task would probably make it easier.
