Hyahime presents: That time when a jsk became an ironing board cover..
Today i'm sharing a classic from cgl many of you have definitely heard about: The ironing board fiasco. The story of a girl, her dad's fiance and many feels.
Tumblr media
Everything started when OP shared this image and said the following:
Due to some unusual circumstances, I'm currently living in a partially-renovated house with my dad and his fiancé.
His fiancé is a very sweet lady who is very thrifty. She makes all her own clothes and and will usually find a practical use for something, rather than throw it out (i.e recycling old bottles and jars to pot plants).
I had a Baby The Stars Shine Bright Strawberry and Cherry Ruffle jumperskirt that I didn't wear anymore, so I was planning to sell it. From memory, it cost about $400.
I put it out in the main room next to a pile of clothes I planned to donate to Good Sammies, so I'd remember to take photos of it for the sale. I then went away for a week to visit my grandparents
When I came back, I noticed the pile of clothes had disappeared. Cool, my dad and/or his fiancé had donated them for me. But wait… Where was the jumperskirt?
It was then that I saw the sight portrayed in the uploaded. My dress had been cut up to to make an ironing board cover and a tablecloth. I don't know where the rest of the material is.
It appeared that my dad's fiancé had assumed the jumperskirt was part of the donation pile, and thought there was no harm in 'recycling' it for her own uses. In her efforts to pretty up the concrete-y wasteland of a house, she had unknowingly destroyed an expensive brand dress.
Literally the only thing I could do in that moment was stare blankly. I can't even be mad at her, she had no idea.
So now I have a BTSSB ironing board and table cloth.
the story immediately caught the attention of users as they scrolled. Some found it terrible, others couldn't help but laugh..
Though some were quick to say it must've been fake.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So.. did OP fake this for attention? Let's investigate.
It is very unlikely the fabric was gathered from a replica, judging by the print details and the fact that this isn't a very sought-after or popular piece you'd see everywhere.
Tumblr media
But how did one dress result in so much fabric? Although it looks like a lot, one anon pointed this out:
Tumblr media
But she knew she'd get the attention, right? ...yes, but I don't think anyone would come up with this specific odd way to recycle a lolita piece and make the community react.
OP responded to the questions and thoughts with the following:
Tumblr media
At this point, some anons were pretty much just fighting over if it's okay for OP to be so calm or not. Which.. is a little bit weird. Others were more emotional about this than the victim themselves.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what you may not know is.. there's more. There's more to the Kawaiironing fiasco.
Op comes back.
Tumblr media
I queried the whereabouts of the remaining material and she showed me. She said my dad told her I was "throwing them out" (I have no idea where he drew that conclusion as i specifically said I was donating a bunch of clothes, so at the very least he should have assumed I was, you know, donating them), so she thought it was fine to cut up. My fault anyway, didn't separate the "sell" pile from the "donate" pile. HOWEVER… There were a few other brand dresses I was planning to sell. I assumed they had been donated with the rest of my clothes, as they were nowhere to be found. I was a little sad about that (they were valuable Angelic Pretty, BBSTB and Metamorphose), but oh well. Then I looked in her material bag and found they had also been cut up… When dad said I was "throwing THEM" out, he did not state a plural by accident… Pics to follow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
If anyone wants individual versions of those pics lemme know.
The loli gods frown upon me today for my unbecoming carelessness in handling burando.
Op decided to keep the truth a secret: ignorance is bliss, and her stepmother did not deserve to feel the guilt of ruining so much burando.. or to know that so many lolitas were in shambles knowing about her crafts.
..Although, anons said this wouldn't stop her from doing it again. Maybe she should know so she doesn't cut up even more dresses.
Tumblr media
One thing is certain. that's a really cute ironing board cover. Maybe the fabric could become even more random burando stuff: headbows, little makeup bags, cup coasters, mats.. oven mitts?
Lolita home goods for all! we demand a cute life!(✧∀✧)/

for the fashion asks: 1, 13, 15 💕
I already answered 1, so I'll do the others! 13: first ever purchase?
First unofficial Lolita purchase was the original "The Hot Topic Dress", it's so old literally no one remembers it. First actual Lolita purchase was from Fan+Friend, and it was I think several different dresses? First brand purchase was a blackxblack shirred JSK, tote bag, emblem charm, and memo pads from BTSSB in 2006 or 2007.
15: do you have an unpopular opinion about the fashion?
I have no idea if this is still unpopular any more but I think that petticoats aren't that important and people make too much of a fuss over what shape they are and the differences are so minimal that the weight of your dress usually ends up squashing any difference between A line and Cupcake pettis. And also if someone doesn't want to wear a petticoat, as long as the coord is still good, it's still fine. Another unpopular opinion is a lot of cheap Lolita stuff on Amazon is fine. It's all the same quality and price as stuff we used to buy from reputable Ebay sellers, or Bodyline, or even later Taobao, just easier. You just have to know what's clearly a stolen stock photo. It's mostly just a pain in the butt finding plain pieces? I needed a new blouse quick, and it's like impossible to find a blouse that isn't overdesigned to the point of absurdity.

Things That Should Be Said In Lolita More Often
There are NO RULES in Lolita.
There aren't. None. Zero. Guidelines maybe, but rules? Nope.
Lolitas in Japan do not care and neither should you or anyone else.
Let's just take a look at ACTUAL lolita fashion in Japan using a search on a single blog @tokyo-fashion
Tumblr media
Stuff on head. 7/8 have skirt. Few seem to have a petticoat, sometimes the ruffled skirt is just giving that vibe without having one. Some VERY vibrant makeup on a few. Bright red lipstick? *gasp* Above the knee skirts on most. Types of shoes are all over the place and none seem to be "lolita shoes" except maybe the BtSSB girl. I don't remember seeing her footwear.
Tumblr media
Bonnet absolutely askew, giant tulle petticoat that is too long, random plushie belt and murdered teddy bear shoes with dark pink ribbons that color match NOTHING else in her ensemble. Perfection, no notes.
But is it lolita? YES
You could make arguments that it's lolita because it has the correct silhouette and blah blah but once you start taking things away from what is considered lolita, is it really? Once you start bending the rules, do the rules even matter anymore?
It's the dress? The THEME?! You can easily find a camo print, sulky fur cow-print dresses, bathroom toiletries, LAUNDRY SOAP PRINT for crissakes.
Were they ever rules to begin with?
Here's one of my fave rules that I absolutely HATE:
Tumblr media
"NO CHEAP LACE!"
*stares at dress and bag*
*points*
And yet, she is BEAUTIFUL.
I have had this particular post sitting in my drafts for years from this blog. Because it's inspiration.
No cheap lace? I take that as a challenge.
My point is, wear whatever the frick you want to wear. If someone tells you it's not right, give them the middle finger and proudly be a lolita your way.

Hello!!!
Today I wanted to post something about me and my wardrobe, I think is clear because of this coord that...I'm wearing a replica!!!! hall of SHAME for me, honestly. That's everything I could afford at a time where I wanted to dress the way I do now but I had other priorities, a.k.a my toy collection, but now that j-fashion is my main priority I've been spending on brand pieces and slowly but surely constructing a new wardrobe with pieces that do not harm what I love which is lolita fashion. Currently, I own a whopping amount of 5 (five) brand pieces!! I know it's little, but this year is the year that I've been focusing the most on building a wardrobe with actual pieces, and not just a "meh, I like it and it's whatever" thing. I'm actually putting effort and investing now.
Thankfully, now I own more brand pieces than replicas, including BTSSB, Emily Temple and Cornet (which was my first lolita piece actually! back in 2018 when I was 15, I've been exploring jfashion since my teenage years but not taking it seriously until now, I guess you could still say im a novice lolita) most of them bought second hand including the replicas, actually the one I'm wearing in this picture I got from Facebook marketplace and what I can say about this specific piece is that quality is clearly not the best, I'd put it almost paring with my bodyline pieces but at a lower level, and the construction....you can't see from this pic but the heart, does not look like a heart at all!!!
What am I going to do with these pieces? Well, they're still clothes at the end of the day and I'm still looking to get the real deal, that would be BTSSB heart apron in sax and BTSSB Millefeuille JSK in sax too (That one is way better constructed than the heart "apron" replica, which is not an apron in any way but a full on JSK) I will wear them in the meantime, but once I get the authentic pieces I will recycle them or just say goodbye, there is no resale value for them and I don't want to continue the cycle of replicas floating around, and I also love sewing. So, I'll probably make new things out of what I already have.
The only positive thing about having these dresses that I can say is that it was like a testing stage for me to see if I actually liked how these pieces looked on me, I loved 2 and ended disliking one which is my babydoll replica, I know now that I don't like how that JSK fits on me and for a black and white piece I will rather go for the lace frill jsk or cul de paris jsk, both currently on my ISO list. For the millefeuille and heart apron, if I felt pretty wearing a shitty replica I know I will feel like a real life princess once I get the nicely constructed real pieces, and once I get them it's time to say goodbye to my old versach-universal studios lolita pieces.
It's hard to build a wardrobe on such a tight budget like mine, and now I'm saving up for a Vivienne Westwood bag, and that is not friendly for my pocket at all, but I know at the end of the day it's going to be totally worth it to invest in genuine clothes, the key for me is going to be: patience.
The coord pictured is all offbrand except for the OTKS which are bodyline.
Thanks for reading!

@20dollarlolita inspired me to get a pick glass and do some brand dress fabric comparisons. I'm gonna rank them bc why not.
Format will be year, brand, print name, fiber content, fabric name (as listed on lolibrary), my opinion and rating
Tumblr media
2014 AP magical night theater, 100% cotton (printed Burberry)
Feels nice and crisp, however the print runs and the gold on the print oxidizes so I'm terrified to wash it 6/10
Tumblr media
2019 AP dream cat go round 100% polyester (wooly viyella)
Feels like a garbage bag especially the op. So lightweight in a bad way. 2/10
Tumblr media
2022 AP lemonade float 100% polyester (chiffon)
Poly chiffon is fine poly chiffon is nice 7/10
Tumblr media
2022 AP Sunny smile laundry 100% polyester (grosgrain)
This is a heavier weight than dream cat so it feels a lot nicer and imo drapes better 6/10
Tumblr media
2018 AATP mrs Halloween apple’s strange banquet 100% cotton (baniran)
Super heavy with a nice texture 9/10
Side note I completely misremembered this print name 😅
Tumblr media
2021 BTSSB trump cards Alice 100% cotton (butcher)
This is lighter than AATP dresses but still nice 9/10
Tumblr media
2022 AATP spiderweb lace jsk 100% polyester (natural stretch)
A nice twill but still poly 7/10
Side note I have a green sample that was never actually produced this fabric might be slightly different from the lolibrary listing
Tumblr media
2020 Meta magical artefact (100% polyester) printed fabric
This is chiffon why can’t you call it chiffon. Very nice 8/10
Tumblr media
2021 Meta royal crown cat ribbon (100% polyester) printed fabric
This also just says printed fabric but it’s heavier and softer than the chiffon 9/10
Since this is getting long might do a part 2

1. What is your dream piece? 2. What was your first piece? 5. What lolita staple do you hate? 8. What are some details you wish to see more of? 10. What is an underrated print/design motif? 12. If you had to change one thing about modern lolita fashion, what would it be?
1. What is your dream piece?
Metamorphose temp de filles 2003 Bridal OP was a massive dream dress for me (lolibrary)
Tumblr media
I never thought I would see it, definitely not in person or online but 1 managed to pop up a few weeks ago and I broke my no buy so fast! It's a lesser known mtdf release (so it wasn't that expensive) but the flocking pattern is so gorgeous and the type of silk used has a unique texture/pattern to it. I plan to make a replacement sash and some accessories for it. I got it in black, which is the last colorway missing on lolibrary so maybe I'll take some nice photos and submit it. :)
I have some other minor dream dresses but this was the big one.
2. What was your first piece?
The first piece that came in the mail was Baby the Stars Shine Bright's Kuma Kumya Marine Island II in pink!
Tumblr media
When I got it I immediately put it on, I had a blouse and everything from the socks, shoes, accessories- all I was missing was a petticoat and I remember being stressed out by how it looked on me. I was really second guessing my decisions and how quickly I jumped in, then my petticoat came in and I was immediately reassured. This is a piece that absolutely needs to be worn with a petticoat or it can be kind of jarring.
I like pink but it's not a color I wear, so I don't see myself having a lot of pink in my wardrobe. I would love to get this print in a different color (navy/mint mostly) in the first cut since I find it more flattering for me.
But I love all things sea critter related, I wanted to be a marine biologist for a while and dabbled in marine ecology for a time so this print is a favorite for sure.
5. What lolita staple do you hate?
Those chunky bead bracelets, when I see them on other people I think it can look really nice but I don't like them on me at all.
8. What are some details you wish to see more of?
More variety in the structure of main pieces, I feel like recent-ish Angelic Pretty falls into having a lot of the same structure that can lead to some of their pieces looking the same to me
(Although BTSSB's JSK I and II cuts do this too)
10. What is an underrated print/design motif?
I would love to see more things like embroidery, the 2 toned/color screen prints/designs
Tumblr media
(Angelic Pretty's Aqua Princess)
12. If you had to change one thing about modern lolita fashion, what would it be?
Remove the use of plastic leather especially for bags. Not only is it really hard for these items to hold up over time, but as they degrade and shed they add plastic to the environment.
More things like canvas bags which can or can not include leather or other natural fiber embellishments would be nice, that way there would still be some variation in color or design but in a more sustainable way.
Tumblr media
(BTSSB's Alice in Fun fair bag)
Thank you for asking and for reading!!

Frederick's 30 Days
Day 5: Do you have any off brand/atypical lolita pieces that you use often in coords?
I'm a thrifty person when it comes to my everyday clothes which influences my lolita purchases as well. I'm always on the lookout at op shops/thrift stores for blouses, shoes, bags and jewelry that could work in lolita either as is or with some adjustments. My go to gothic style boots (as seen in my first coord here) were from an op shop as well as a red cropped cardigan that I use to bring out the red in prints.
I also make my own pieces such as the dress on the right in the above linked post, my own version of btssb's shirring princess. I'm currently halfway through crocheting a pair of wristcuffs and planning to make an op pretty soon, I've had the fabric sitting in my 'to make' pile for a few months now.

not to keep only posting abt things i’m doing in japan BUT
Tumblr media
i did a little lolita pilgrimage the other day!! i reserved a whole afternoon of my tokyo trip for this and it was so nice ;-; seeing the brands’ storefronts in person really changes how you look at them though bc btssb’s boutique was this gorgeous sunlit room with floral wallpaper and pretty decorations and two very sweet ladies working there who slowly and carefully wrap your purchases in pink tissue paper before sending you off (i can’t stress how slow and careful the tissue paper wrapping was) and then bodyline looked like a theater prop closet where you could turn around from the racks of lolita and practically already have your nose buried in a sexy school uniform with nightcore disney covers playing and an employee squealing greetings in an eardrum-piercing anime voice for minutes on end. whiplash
#lolita fashion#i actually hated being in the bodyline store so much that i was like okay i need to go like find a store that's nice to cleanse that away#so that it doesn't irreversibly damage how i remember this entire day#but overall i had so much fun i felt so at peace lolita fashion felt very real and important in a way it hadn't before somehow#the jsk is axes femme which def cemented them as one of my favorite brands#(the axes femme boutique was really nice too it was in laforet which i looooved and the lady was wearing the op ver of the jsk i bought)#(so we chatted a little bit abt it and how the waist tie detailing is cute and etc)#bc of that all of this was actually pretty cheap#it came out to like $170 usd all together which isn't bad considering how prepared i was to drop more than that on one angelic pretty dress#if i saw one that i liked while i was there which. i didn't#well that's a lie bc i was thinking about buying one of the new lemon line ones but seeing it in person i was unimpressed#the accessories i got from btssb after buying the jsk so i had more of an idea of how i'd wear them so maybe going to angelic pretty#first was a mistake#if i'd had that sort of idea maybe i would've gotten something there#you don't think abt how much thought goes into every single lolita item purchase until you're surrounded by them#i could have bought more but like on a metaphysical level could i? could i have handled having bags and bags of lolita in my arms#only regret is i didn't bring a petticoat with me and i had multiple chances to buy one but they were all expensiiiive#i'm too used to $30 etsy petticoats#even the bodyline ones were expensive but also i swear bodyline's prices are cheaper online than in person#i would go back to any of the other places i went...i don't think i could go back to bodyline#sorry bodyline i know you're trying to change your reputation but are you really#still like your products though#but hehe yeah i'm happy i put so much time aside for this it was very special#personal

I bought the Spoonflower Sample Pack and here’s my analysis of what is good for lolita fashion.
I’m going to start with what I considered the definitely no, because you don’t really need pictures of them.
Minky, Fleece, Sport Lycra, Belgian Linen, Cypress Cotton Canvas, and Dogwood Denim are in my nope pile. The three wallpapers they offer are also in the nope pile, but that probably is obvious. The Organic Sweet Pea Gauze is also a no. The fabric isn’t totally bad, but they can’t print it on the grain consistently. The Celosia Velvet is an upholstery velvet, not an apparel velvet, and you can tell in the way it drapes, so taht’s also a no.
***
The definite yes pile (who’s up for pick glass shots. You know you love them and it’s been a while):
Tumblr media
Of the knits, we have Modern Jersey on the left and Performance Pique on the right.
The Performance Pique is also a moisture-wicking fabric, so if you need stretch and also don’t want to be sweaty, it’s a good option.
The Modern Jersey is my choice for if you need a 4-way stretch.
Tumblr media
The Cotton Spandex Jersey is fine as a greige, but the quality of the print did not impress me. This picture is Modern Jersey on the left and Cotton Spandex Jersey on the right. If you’re buying from Spoonflower, I assume you’re going there for prints, and the Cotton Spandex Jersey ones just don’t really compare with what official lolita brands are putting out.
Tumblr media
Cotton Poplin Ultra, Organic Cotton Sateen, Lightweight Cotton Twill
Next up is the group I’m going to broadly call “woven cotton,” despite that being an extremely vague term. These are your fabrics for older lolita, back before polyester fabric was common on lolita dresses. The twill is very similar to my pre-2011 AP and BTSSB dresses. The poplin and sateen could be used where you’re use a lighter cotton, and on things like shirting.
Tumblr media
Now we have the sheer and silky: left is the Poly Crepe de Chine and the right is the Chiffon.
If you need chiffon in your lolita dress, you know it, and if you need printed chiffon in your lolita dress, Spoonflower’s is pretty darn good. The edges of the dots are not as clear as they are on some other fabrics, but it’s still a pretty good print (chiffon is extra difficult to print on, too).
If your inspiration is a more modern polyester dress, using the Crepe de Chine and a lining will work pretty well. It’s got a very fine wrinkly texture (that’s what makes it crepe) and a really nice drape.
Tumblr media
If you need a crisp, saturated polyester prints, the Silky Faille is my choice. It’s about the same weight as the Poplin Ultra and it’s about as opaque, but it’s got a bit more drape and a clearer print. It has luster, but it’s not super shiny.
***
And now we’re on for the MAYBE and UNDER SOME CIRCUMSTANCES category:
Tumblr media
Satin (top), Petal Signature Cotton (left) and Linen Cotton Canvas Ultra (right)
If you’re making a lolita dress that needs satin, you know that you need satin, If you’re not sure if you need satin, please hang up and try calling again put the satin down and just be assured that you don’t need it. It’s not a thick satin and it’s not a matte satin, but the print quality is quite nice.
Petal Signature isn’t bad, but it’s largely a quilt fabric. There’s many other cottons here that would work much better, which is why it’s not in the definitely usable category.
Linen Cotton Canvas is good if you know you need canvas. If you’re making a bag, it’s probably your best bet. Otherwise, stick with the twill.
Tumblr media
Neither of the Pro Member Exclusive fabrics (Longleaf Sateen Grand on left and Perennial Sateen Grand on right) impressed me as much as the Cotton Sateen did. However, these are both available in 116″ wide, so if you NEED that width AND you have $250 a year for the membership, they will both work just fine for lolita.
Tumblr media
Neither the Cotton Spandex Jersey (Left) nor the Organic Cotton Knit Ultra (right) impressed me with their dye penetration. There’s better options available, so these didn’t make it into my definite yes category.
So there we go, if you’re looking at Spoonflower for buying lolita fabric, here’s my list of what does and doesn’t work. I honestly didn’t look at the prices of any of these; I just went off what the fabrics look and feel like.
Getting fabric custom-printed is not inexpensive, but if you’re planning on doing so, here’s some info I can give you. Now go make pretty things.

I'm reposting this here because I spent way to long on it for it to go icnored, this au takes up every waking moment of my thoughts
NO ONES GONNA KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT BUT IM POSTING IT ANYWAY AAAHHHHHH
-I don't know if either of these groups are big enough to understand any of this but like, here we go!
-Lihn is a classic/gothic lolita and goes to too many teapartys. She likes big extravagant headpieces lots of jewelry and never wears wigs.
-Tam is Lihns ouji accessory, and Tam is just begrudgingly accepting of it. all of Tams sets are gothic. No color. Nope. None. Black.
-Tam buys almost exclusively from Moi-Meme-Moitie, and Lihn is a total BTSSB brand whore.
-Biana likes fairy kei and just really likes cording big fluffy jackets. She also pretty much exclusively wears purple, pink and yellow. Sometimes she needs outher colors, in that case she raids Sophie's wardrobe.
-She likes chunky sneakers, hair bows and cute hair colors. Biana would totally dress Iggy up and bring him to meets.
-Binana is a total lifestyler.
-Sophie got converted by Biana to fairy kei, but then desocoverd classic lolita and down the rabet hole she went. She still likes cording pastal colors tho.
-Every once in a while she'll go out in OTT sweet lolita. Also because she's basic, she's been trying to get her hands on honeycakes in her size for a year and a half.
-she likes brands like lily of the valley and lady sloth
-When Sophie wears lolita, she likes to wear like, 200 Pettis. So she's just POOF.
-Biana, Dex and Lihn had to have an intervention for Sophie about her Beret addiction. It's getting seriously out of hand.
-Dex likes casual styles. He mostly dresses in pastels.
-Dex likes more indie brands. He orders these massive pastel tow bow hauls once every couple of months. You'll just see this mile high stack of boxes and think, "aw heck he's done it again."
-Dex really likes Dimond Honey
-Dex tried to convince Tam to do a style swap once. It did not go well. We don't talk about that day anymore.
-Dex likes bracelets and big chunky necklaces. He says he likes how he rattles when he walks down halls.
-Sometimes he'll let Sophie dress him up in sweet lolita. Everyone agrees he pulls it off really well. He loves milky planet and steals bianas jsk way too often
-Fitz just follows Biana and Sophie around to carry bags. He takes photos for everyone. He is the coms designated photographer.
-Lihn wants him and Tam to do a matchy look but Fitz dosent want to, mostly because he doesn't like Tams style
-Marella wears off brand lolita a lot, but not as offten as everyone else. She's to afraid to buy brand because she's afraid shell set it on fire.
-Marella is also the meme lord of the group. She pumps out Mr. Yan memes faster than dex can make tow bow orders.
-Marella owns 12 different pairs of teapartys.
-she really hates it when she can't find matching headbows
-Keefe went through a INTENCE ita phase.
-He spent a long time building up a sweet/classic wardrobe for a few years, before is style morphed into more party kei. He still kept a lot of his stuff tho.
-He still has a lot if AP skirts. Keefe rocks the skirts. Lihn hates cording skirts with a passion, and is eternally impressed with Keefe's abilitys.
-Stina wears old-school, and likes rocking horse shoes.
- she's the person newbies allways cause of being it's, but is actually like, the most skilled in the whole comm
- rectangle head dresses up the wazooo
-I would write more about her but I hate her so I'm not giving her any more attention.
-Sidenote, Della totally collects irregular choice heels 😏
If you know what the hell I was talking about feel free to add on. Also expect art soon. 😅

Marella wears off brand lolita a lot, but not as offten as everyone else.
She's to afraid to buy brand because she's afraid shell set it on fire. Marella is also the meme lord of the group. She pumps out Mr. Yan memes faster than dex can make tow bow orders.
Marella owns 12 different pairs of teapartys.
Keefe went through a INTENCE ita phase.
He spent a long time building up a sweet/classic wardrobe for a few years, before is style morphed into more party kei.
He still kept a lot of his stuff tho. He still has a lot if AP skirts.
Keefe rocks the skirts. Lihn hates cording skirts with a passion, and is eternally impressed with Keefe's abilitys.
Stina wears old-school, and likes rocking horse shoes.
I would write more about her but I hate her so I'm not giving her any more attention.
Sidenote, Della totally collects irregular choice heels 😏
Honestly I have no idea how Many people I. The fandom will understand this, but the idea came up and I couldn't not. Expect. Art soon😏😅

On August 19th, there was an Alice and the Pirates Harajuku Tea Party. The theme was "Summer Princes and Princesses", so I went with pale colours and flowers. I only have two AatP/BtssB main pieces now, so I didn't have much choice. I hadn't worn lolita in a long time due to the extreme heat and humidity we have in Tokyo this summer, but the merciful gods of lolita gave us a beautiful 27°C day for the first time in forever. Dress: Alice and the Pirates (collab with Versailles) Underskirt: Innocent World Lace top: Boutique 1861 Hat: Handmade by Copetillo Arts Beads bag: Vintage (from Kiki2) Shoes: Fluevog Parasol: Alice and the Pirates Jewellery and long gloves: Vintage Tights: B-Be-Bee

i did mean the latter, yeah! :D thank you for answering, your opinions are so cool and detailed <3 you're also so right abt the difference between btssb and angelic pretty tbh- also i dont have a lot of thoughts abt the topic myself, but one thing i was thinking was that iori probably either has an angelic pretty dream dress or an ap dress hidden somewhere in the very back of his closet?? i just think he'd like their vibe ((and then is shocked when riku inevitably finds it and tries it on haha))
BESTIE OH MY GOD YOU'RE SO RIGHT
alss;df;lk;las iori WOULD SO have an ap dress stuffed in some dark corner of his closet, and which one? two words. nakayoshi. bunny.
Tumblr media
and of course he'd have the utterly ridiculous (complimentary) matching bonnet

People have been posting some then and nows in Lolita and it got be curious and made me look back at some old pictures. The left is me in 2009. It's the opening Tea Party for Baby, the Stars Shine Bright SF. That was the only Baby dress I owned at the time. My closet was very small, I didn't even have matching accessories. I made the bunny bag, because otherwise I had nothing to match. The next year I became a shop staff. The picture on the left is me this year at Tokyo in Tulsa. Now I have...... a lot of Baby dresses and accessories. I still work for Baby, but I'm a Brand Representative and I work their convention booths and special events. Style wise not a whole lot has changed, besides the bigger closet and I do sometimes wear Gothic and Hime style too. What have you noticed about yourself then an now? Has your style changed?
