Two Jaeris thoughts:

What if the youtube landscape he came from was less like our 2012 angry critic youtube landscape and more like 2016-2018 leftist video essay youtube? So everyone used colorful lights and had weird art references and Jaeris was part of a popular meme like "What notes are we allowed to use, Ben? Fucking A-sharp?" Like the hbomberguy meme here?

And maybe the reason that Jaeris's friends weren't compatible with his universe was that they were from different mediums/biological makeups? I mostly just want him to have fought alongside a Spider-noir style figure from ink and paper drawings lol, maybe his first dimension hop looked a bit like Take on Me?

Ooh, maybe one of them had fire or ice powers because their bodies worked on a different liquid than water? Like if their blood was mercury, they could have a sustainable body temperature much lower than ours and maybe that could be a weapon of theirs? I dunno, superhero logic lol.

do we even know if The Magnificent 9 (in the Tragic Video Logs jaeris says "this like the magnificent 7 but theres 9 of us!" ive literally taken notes on this) were critics, is the thing i think of the magnificent 9 as like, jaeris' comicrew? like theyre just a bunch of guys. like they can have cool costumes and backstories and know how to to magic or be tech geniuses but they're all just kinda. people.

the blending of completely outlandish sci fi and magic stuff and the domesticity of a found family who just like. live in a house has always been a HUGE part of what makes at4w so charming to me? the idea of them being like. just a group of weirdos who have each others backs is really compelling. plus then you can really lean into jaeris and linkara being ~foils~ like. guns and sorcery places such an emphasis on "boy i sure i am glad i have my friends, i'd be a mess without them!" and then you have jaeris. who does not have the luxury of a wacky found family to rely on when the going gets rough. thats just!!!!! OOH MAN! LOVE THEM PARALLELS!

(also we know that 2 of jaeris dead friends were named Evette and Tanner, thats another thing i caught during re-watch)
