Hey so I was reading your analysis on Inko Midoriya and first of all amazing analysis by the way. I feel like I could understand things a bit differently because some parts I could relate to by being raised in a traditional Bangladeshi home and some parts were completely new.

I was wondering what you thought about the whole Bakugou family situation. I definitely understand the whole tough love argument but if the bakugous were truly abusive then horikoshi would have shown in wouldn't he. So I would like to know your opinion about it, if you don't mind of course.

Is Bakugou Mitsuki abusive?

If it's this post that you're talking about I first want to make sure credit is given where it's due. The analysis is similar to something I've posted on another platform, but this specific post is originally by psychomurderz.

I can however answer the question.

Personally, I don't believe that Bakugou Mitsuki is abusive, but she couldn't exactly be considered the best either. She cares for Katsuki and wants what is best for him, and even acknowledges her own parental shortcomings. Plus, there's the matter of Bakugou's point of view.

In Ep 79 of the anime, Todoroki and Bakugou were discussing ways to handle the children, leading to the famous "Bakugou, they're just kids" line.

Something that isn't shown in the anime, however, is that Bakugou was thinking about when he overheard Todoroki's backstory during the Sports Festival Arc. When saying "that's how i was raised, and I ended up fine," he was specifically (albeit internally) pointing out that he did not view his own childhood as abusive. Bakugou knew the differences between how Mitsuki and how Enji act, and is acutely aware their situations aren't the same.

As for Mitsuki herself, she has explained that being harsh on Katsuki is her way of trying to combat his crude behaviour. She acknowledges that her own parenting has been inadequate, and she expressed that she's failed Katsuki in his upbringing. Mitsuki knows that attending UA is healthy for him, and she does want what's best for him. Her methods of combatting his attitude is definitely not the best, as he still shows signs of feeling inadequate even while shouting to the rooftops that "he's the best". These were only speculations until he voiced them to Izuku in their fight.

Let's not forget that the yelling is not one-sided. Yes, the shouting matches they're gotten into have been reactive, with one feeding off the other, but not hateful.

Mitsuki is almost Inko's polar opposite as far as good mothers go, but she's still that- good.

In conclusion: Mitsuki Bakugou is not an abusive mother, but she does have her issues. She cares about Katsuki and knows where she failed at raising him, and what she needs to do to fix it. Yes, she yells, but the key here is that she and Katsuki know it isn't venomous.

It Won’t Cost Much... | Ch5 Trial Event

"Huhuhu..." Was that a desperate cry? No... It was... a chuckle. Noriko Morishige chuckles again. "Do you think you have won? Do you think you have defeated me? You may think that you people ought to prevail and be tucked some place all safe and sound. Sorry to tell, peeps, but there's no happy endings, not here and not now: this tale is all sorrows and woes. You dream that love and friendship win the day, but, guess what?"

"That's not how the story goes! Do you want to vote for me as the killer of the annoying Sous Chef? Well, well! Go ahead then! I don't mind at all! But wouldn't be funnier to consider something else? I mean, an extra variable being put on table that will certainly make you think more carefully about this whole story? Here we have it..."

Chuckling, the pink-haired girl reaches the inner pocket of her black coat, taking a pen off. This pen seemed to be... quite different from the rest. It was black, seeming to be made out of a strong material. This one was topped by a skull-shapped cap, which the girl removed after unlocking something on the side of it. Carefully, Morishige put the skull back inside her inner pocket and looked back at everyone.

"You might be thinking... What is this, Noriko-chan?" She asked in her cutest, most high-pitched tone. "Well, my braindead kids, this is my Special Pen. You might be wondering now why is it so special... Well, the answer is quite simple and I'm sure sure you'll love to listen to it."

"I'm a pretty curious person, you know? So curious that every information I get from people I get to put into something very special back at home: My Database. Basically, every single person in the world that purchased one of the luxurious Morishige Luxury Pens are under my monitoration! Huhuhuhu! The Little Prince

In the middle of my not-so-busy-but-have-oh-so-many-things-to-do time, I kind of stealing the time to watch a movie. This movie is based from a book, my favorite one. And it's called The Little Prince. Aku suka baca dongeng, rasanya seru aja dan terkadang, cerita anak-anak tuh lebih meaningful dibanding cerita orang dewasa. Dan film animasi ini salah satu animasi dengan cerita yang meaningful banget. And I think, film ini juga wajib di tonton juga sama orang tua, bukan cuma sekedar hiburan untuk anak-anak. Kalau dibandingkan dengan buku, ada sedikit perbedaan. Di buku benar-benar menceritakan si pangeran kecil, sedangkan di filmnya muncul tokoh baru, dimana si tokoh tersebut nantinya diceritakan tentang kisah si pangeran kecil. Jadi ceritanga ada seorang anak perempuan kecil, she's smart, and being trained by her mother to be ready for the grown-up world. By mean being trained adalah, ibu muda ini benar-benar secara tidak langsung menjadikan anaknya 'robot', semuanya terjadwal dari mulai bangun tidur sampai tidur lagi, perempuan kecil itu tidak memiliki kesempatan untuk bermain, ibunya sangat ingin anaknya masuk ke sekolah yang prestis, ibunya melakukan ini semata-mata karena menginginkan yang terbaik untuk anaknya, tentu, ibu mana yang tidak?. Dan perempuan kecil ini yang tidak memiliki imajinasi, mengikuti semua yang ibunya inginkan, dan berpikir bahwa itu juga lah yang dia inginkan. Hingga pada akhirnya ibu dan anak itu pindah dan kebetulan memiliki tetangga yang nyentrik. Singkat cerita, hidup anak ini berubah ketika bertemu dengan kakek yang nyentrik ini. Gadis kecil itu akhirnya memiliki imajinasinya lagi, and her mommy was not so happy about it. Dari kakek nyentrik itu lalu diceritakanlah tentang si pangeran kecil ini. Petualangannya dimulai saat itu. I'm too lazy to tell it, you should watch it by yourself, it's great imo. Yang aku suka dari film animasi ini adalah bagaimana kita diperlihatkan gambaran tentang "society nowadays". Semua sistem yang ada seolah dibuat untuk menciptakan robot-robot masa depan. Semuanya harus sama, ketika ada yang berbeda, maka perbedaan itu dibuat sama. Seperti anak kecil yang dahulunya bermimpi untuk menjadi astronot, presiden, dan art-ist, dan hal-hal besar lainnya Semakin dia tumbuh dewasa semakin kecil mimpinya, dengan dalih.. 'Yaudah sih realistis aja'. Aku tidak meng-generalisasi, gak semuanya seperti itu, tapi sekarang kebanyakan mindset-nya kuliah-lulus-kerja. Like I do, I confess. Dan film animasi ini seolah menyindir kehidupan saat ini. Di film ini juga ditunjukkan banyak rupa sifat manusia, si tamak, si sombong, si bijak dan masih banyak lagi. Dan pangeran kecil yang saat masih kecilnya benar-benar memiliki jiwa petualang yang tinggi, setelah dia beranjak dewasa he's becoming another grown-up man. Banyak hal yang bisa aku pikirkan lewat film ini, khususnya aku yang sedang berada di masa quarter life crisis, yang entah soon-to-be-a-job-seeker, or soon-to-get-a-master-degree, (Or maybe soon-to-be-a-wifey 😝). Like really.. Dulu mimpiku besar, sempet ingin jadi arsitek, but I'm suck at drawing. I used to (and still) wanted to be a singer, but my voice is not that good, pernah ingin kerja di multinational company, and go abroad mewakili perusahaan, pernah ingin jadi pengacara, but my heart just too soft to handle the argue. And then I kind of stuck in my campus as an economic majoring student. Tapi ternyata, seiring berjalannya waktu, I found out what I really wanted to do. I want to be a good wife and a mother. And people was like "seriously shel?! It's 21st century and you're still just wanted to be a housewife?!" Seolah menjadi seorang ibu rumah tangga, adalah hal yang aneh. It almost sounds like a shame. Maybe because they think that people will get married eventually, so why do you even bother to make it as the thing you wanted to do? But really, doesn't mean I never try to find what kind of future that I want. Aku pun selalu mencari, jenis pekerjaan apa yang aku inginkan, yang sesuai dengan minatku. But It doesn't fit anywhere. Aku pun ingin kerja, tapi kalaupun kerja, it just because I'm obligated to do so. goals yang ingin ku raih bukanlah jabatan, I don't want to reach the highest peak on my carreer. Aku hanya ingin pengalaman, dan mungkin pundi-pundi dollar untuk di tabung. But that's it, jika dirasa sudah cukup, I would gladly quit. Karena akan lebih menyenangkan melihat anak-anakku tumbuh dibanding perusahaan tempatku bekerja yang tumbuh. Terdengar sangat sederhana, bukan? Hahahaha. Meracaunya kejauhan ya, dari film jadi kesana-sini. Tapi serius that movie was great. Tentang anak kecil dan dunia dewasa. Gambaran kecil tentang bagaimana kita secara tidak langsung dibentuk. Bagaimana kita menanggalkan mimpi-mimpi besar kita yang terkalahkan dengan satu kata realistis. And please, don't forget about the power of dream.
