valgrace except it’s two days before new years. modern au for drabble purposes.
jason left america to visit italy. he and reyna haven’t seen each other in a while so after christmas, he had booked a flight, said his goodbyes, and boarded the plane. leo had stayed, driving from new york to texas with will so they can both see their mothers, introducing the women who just hit it off so well leo and will were a little nervous about their influence on each other.
it wasn’t all bad. just embarrassing childhood photos and stories leo had to suffer through before he and will went on tangents about the kids they’re counseling at camp.
during the days, jason and leo still kept in touch. they texted every single detail about their adventures to one another, even the littlest details. like how the ruins in rome would have annabeth with heart eyes, cafes here and there she would also like as well. sometimes they’d call to help each other pick out clothes, which colors would look good with which, reyna and will’s running commentary in the background.
they would just talk and talk that there wasn’t a moment they weren’t on the phone.
then leo and will drove back to new york on new year’s eve. the counselors set things up for the kids who didn’t have homes to return to, spend time with the others but within every hour closer to midnight, leo checked his phone. jason was supposed to come back but there was nothing. no phone calls, no texts, just silence.
needless to say, leo was anxious. and he was stressed.
and as they’re ready for the countdown, crowded by the bonfire with fireworks and food and drinks and games at the ready, leo’s name is called five seconds in.
he whipped around to search for the direction it came from because even in the loud chanting, the laughs and the giggles, leo can hear jason’s name anywhere. he spent so much time committing that soft voice to memory, the smile, how he’d say leo’s name.
and he runs off.
he runs like hell is on his heels and collides into jason who meets him halfway, arms around each other as the fireworks are set off and the clock strikes midnight.

My Sunshine Girl: A Healing Home
Masterlist❤️Previous Part
Summary: Having Benny around changes things for the better.
Themes: Family drama, underlying grief, and finding comfort in your favorite person
A/n: I didn't realize I was writing in first person and by the time I noticed I was already too deep in the process 🤷♀️LMK if you wanna be part of a taglist for this series, or for all my works!!
The weeks following the fight at the bar were a blur of quiet days and slow healing. Benny had told me to stay home until the bruises and scrapes faded, though he never really explained why I needed to lay low or how he planned to smooth things over with the cops. I didn’t press him on it. I trusted him enough to just listen, even if the silence that came with being cooped up sometimes felt too heavy to bear.
I called my uncle to let him know I was taking a few weeks off, spinning some story about needing to clear out the attic and sort through old boxes that had been collecting dust since my childhood. It wasn’t a lie, exactly; the attic had been long overdue for a cleanout. But what I hadn’t expected was how many old memories would come flooding back during those quiet weeks at home.
Some days, the house felt haunted by the past—pictures of my mom tucked away in forgotten corners, trinkets from a time when life felt simpler. I’d find my old pookie bear, the one my ma had made me, and all at once, the grief would hit me hard, like no time had passed at all. I’d crumble under the weight of it, tears streaming down my face, and Benny would be right there, no questions asked. He didn’t pry when I broke down, didn’t push for explanations. He just wrapped his arms around me, letting me cry it out until the storm passed.
He was my buffer, my anchor, the one constant in a sea of emotions I wasn’t always prepared to deal with. And even on the hardest days, he made it easier just by being there.
But it wasn’t all sadness. Sometimes, between the dusting and sorting, we’d stumble onto something that would break the tension and remind me that joy still had a place in this old house. Like the day Benny found my middle school diary—tucked away in a box of yearbooks and scribbled notes, full of awkward confessions and childhood crushes. I was mortified, scrambling to snatch it out of his hands as he held it above his head, flipping through the pages with a devilish grin.
“Number one: Mr. O’Connell, your eighth-grade math teacher? Really?” Benny read aloud, his tone dripping with mock horror as I jumped, trying and failing to grab the diary back.
“Oh my god, Benny, stop!” I begged, my face burning as I reached up, but he just laughed, lifting the diary higher, making a game out of it.
“You had a thing for math, huh? Or just guys with glasses?”
I groaned, mortified but unable to keep the smile off my face. “Give it back! I swear, I’ll—”
Benny kept reading, amused at my futile attempts. I shoved a nearby box over, using it as a makeshift step stool, only for it to collapse under me, sending me tumbling to the floor. The crash echoed through the attic, and for a second, everything went silent before Benny’s laughter broke the tension, deep and infectious.
I looked up, sprawled on the floor, and started laughing too, the kind of uncontrollable, belly-aching laughter that leaves you breathless and teary-eyed for all the right reasons. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d laughed like that in this house.
We spent the rest of the day making new memories, each corner of the attic becoming less about the past and more about the here and now. Benny helped me pack away the old pain and fill the empty spaces with something lighter, something new. The house felt different by the end of those weeks, less like a museum of all the hurt I’d carried and more like a home that was ours.
Every time I looked at a corner that used to be filled with sadness, I felt gratitude instead—a quiet, blooming joy that wrapped itself around my heart. I wasn’t forgetting my mom or the pain we’d both gone through, but I was finding a way to make room for happiness too.
The midday sun streamed through the kitchen window, casting warm, golden light across the countertops as I moved around the stove. The smell of homemade tomato soup filled the air, mingling with the buttery aroma of the grilled cheese I was making for lunch. I knew Benny was supposed to be out the door over an hour ago, but here he was, his arms snug around my waist and his head resting comfortably on my shoulder. I could feel the soft, steady rhythm of his breathing against my back, his presence grounding me in a way that made the entire world feel right.
“Weren’t you supposed to leave an hour ago?” I whispered with a giggle as he kissed the sensitive spot on my neck, his lips lingering just long enough to make my skin tingle.
Benny hummed, his voice low and lazy, full of that warmth that always sent shivers down my spine. “You’re holding me hostage,” he murmured, nuzzling into my neck like he had all the time in the world.
I scoffed, flipping the sandwich in the pan, the bread sizzling as it turned a perfect golden brown. “I hope that’s not what you’re tellin’ the boys,” I teased, trying to keep the smile off my face as his kisses grew more persistent, more playful.
“They’d believe it,” he said, his lips brushing against my skin as he grinned. “You were a sight of fear for them that night.”
I nudged him gently, still caught off guard by the way he made me feel so seen, so known. “No way they fear me,” I said, laughing at the absurdity of it. The idea of those big, greasy, tattooed men being scared of someone like me was ridiculous. I was a lot of things, but intimidating wasn’t one of them—not to them, at least.
Benny chuckled softly, his voice a warm rumble that I felt all the way to my bones. “You were a force,” he said, and I could hear the pride mixed with amusement in his tone. “Five women tried to pull you off, and you broke through them—teeth, nails, and limbs flying everywhere. Like a little monkey.”
I gasped, feigning offense as I pushed him back playfully, though his hold on me didn’t loosen. “Rude!” I scolded, my cheeks warming as I turned the sandwich again, trying to focus on the task at hand despite the way his words made my heart race.
Benny laughed, the sound deep and peaceful, wrapping around me like a favorite song. “I never want to think about that night ever again,” I sighed, shaking my head at the memory. I’d gone to the bar looking for some fun, but it had turned into anything but that. “Eat your grilled cheese and leave me alone, Benny Cross. You’ve made enough rude comments for one day.”
He dipped lower, his lips brushing my cheek, then my jaw, peppering soft kisses along my skin until I was practically squirming from the attention. “I’m waiting,” he murmured, his voice smooth as honey, and I knew he was enjoying every second of this.
“Your plate was already made,” I said, my tone dripping with disbelief as I tried to keep my composure. I pointed to the counter where his sandwich and soup were sitting, perfectly plated and ready to eat. “Right there.”
“For you,” he whispered against my ear, his hands roaming my sides in a slow, soft caress that sent jolts of pleasure through me. He was relentless, every touch deliberate, every kiss a gentle tease that made it hard to think straight.
I bit down on the wave of heat that spread through me, refusing to give in completely. “If I hear someone make a comment about me keepin’ you hostage the next time I’m at the bar, I swear I’m chucking an 8-ball at ‘em,” I warned, trying to sound stern, but my voice came out breathless, betraying the effect he had on me.
Benny grinned, his lips brushing my ear as he whispered, “Let ‘em talk, Sunshine. You’ve got nothing to prove.” His hands continued their slow exploration, skimming over my hips and up my back, a mix of comfort and desire that made my knees weak. “Besides, I like being held hostage by you.”
I couldn’t help but laugh, the sound light and free, bubbling up from somewhere deep inside me. “Yeah, well, you better behave,” I said, turning just enough to look at him, catching the mischievous glint in his eyes. “Or I might just let you go.”
He pulled me closer, his grip firm but tender, holding me in place as he looked down at me with that lazy, cocky smile I’d grown to love. “You couldn’t get rid of me if you tried,” he said, his voice low and rough, filled with something deeper than just teasing. “I’m right where I wanna be.”
I leaned into him, letting the warmth of his body and the comfort of his words wrap around me like a blanket. His stubble tickled along my neck with each kiss he placed. I shivered and inched away from him with a giggle, "At least let me finish plating my dish."
He grumbled as he stepped away, grabbed his plate, and moved to sit at the table. I glanced over my shoulder and found him staring intently at me, his eyes dark and.. "Oh my gosh, Benny, are you pouting??" I squealed, "I'm so telling-"
My teasing quietened as a rapid knock broke our moment. The knock wasn’t just loud—it was aggressive, rattling the walls with an urgency that made my heart jump. Benny stood up from the table, his easy smile fading as the tension in the air thickened. I watched as he walked to the door, his shoulders squared and ready for whatever trouble was waiting on the other side. I barely heard the door open before a booming voice echoed,
“Where is she?”
Uncle Harold boomed, his voice filling every corner of the room. Benny instantly stepped in front of him, his stance protective and his jaw clenched tight. I could feel the anger radiating off Harold in waves, each word landing like a blow.
“You need to back off, Harold,” Benny said, his voice edged with warning as he kept his body between me and my uncle. “You can’t just come in here like this.”
But Harold was past listening. He shoved Benny aside, his eyes searching the room until they found me, just as I stepped around the corner from the kitchen. I froze, the intensity of his glare pinning me in place. Benny quickly moved to close the door behind Aunt Gina and stepped in front of me, blocking my uncle’s line of sight. His broad back was a shield between me and the onslaught of Harold’s rage.
“What’s going on?” I asked, my voice shaky but defiant. I tried to look around Benny, but he held his ground, his presence a firm line of defense.
Harold’s face was twisted with anger, his fists clenched as he pointed at me. “You’ve got this boy living in your mama’s house!” he shouted, his voice cracking with emotion. “And I’ve got Old Man Harry telling me you’ve got a bunch of Vandals vouching that you weren’t in a fight when six women described you in detail!”
The words hit like a slap, the sheer force of his anger pressing down on me, but as his accusations rang out, something inside me snapped.
Benny glanced back at me, his eyes searching mine, but he didn’t move from his spot in front of me. He was there, steady and unflinching, even as the storm raged on. “Harold, you need to calm down,” Benny said, his voice low and tense. “She doesn’t need this from you.”
I stepped around Benny, frustration boiling over. “DO YOU EVEN HEAR YOURSELF RIGHT NOW?” I yelled, my voice trembling with fury and years of bottled-up hurt. “You used to be a biker too! You still have your bike! You know what that life is like!”
“That’s different,” Uncle Harold snapped, his anger flaring again as he tried to reel himself back, but I wasn’t about to let him off that easy.
“No, it’s not!” I shot back, my voice breaking. “When you met Aunt Gigi, you’d just gotten out of jail! She still gave you a chance. She saw something in you that no one else did. How is it any different for me and Benny?”
Harold’s face tightened, his anger battling with the guilt that flickered briefly in his eyes. “It’s different because your mama made me promise,” he said, his voice straining, shaking with unspoken grief. “She made me promise that I’d protect you. I gave her my word that I’d be the father you needed.”
Pain gripped my chest, sharp and unforgiving. My throat tightened as I tried to hold back the emotions that threatened to swallow me whole. “Don’t bring her into this!” I shouted, my voice cracking under the weight of it all. The mention of my mom felt like a knife, twisting deep. The hurt was suffocating, choking me with memories of promises I never asked for.
Harold’s face contorted with pain and fury, his voice shaking as he continued. “You’re running around with this boy, getting into trouble, doing things you shouldn’t. You aren’t the little girl we raised.”
I took a deep, shuddering breath, trying to steady myself, but the grief and anger were a tidal wave, pulling me under. I tried to step around Benny, desperate to confront my uncle face-to-face, but Benny’s arm shot out, his hand gently tucking me behind him. His body was a shield, protecting me even when I was ready to charge headfirst into the fire.
“Harold, enough,” Benny said, his voice like steel, unyielding and protective. “You don’t get to judge her. You don’t get to make her feel small.”
I peeked around Benny, the tears burning in my eyes as I stared at my uncle. “You never knew me,” I said, my voice cracking with the raw truth I’d kept buried for years. “Because the little girl you raised was broken, scared and angry. You never saw that, did you? You never saw how hard it was to keep it together, how much I was hurting.”
The room was thick with tension, the air heavy with the weight of unspoken pain. Aunt Gina stepped closer, her face etched with sadness as she watched me unravel. “Sunny, we’re just trying to help,” she said softly, her voice a calm presence amidst the chaos. “We love you. We don’t want to see you get hurt.”
But I was too far gone, too tangled up in my own grief and anger to let the words soothe me. “I know you love me,” I said, my voice trembling as I fought to keep control. “But you don’t get to decide what’s best for me anymore. You don’t get to come in here and throw around all your guilt and promises like they’re weapons.”
Harold’s face fell, the anger draining away, leaving only the hollow ache of regret. His shoulders sagged, and for the first time, he looked at me not with fury, but with a kind of desperate sorrow. “I’m scared, Sunny,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’m scared I’m failing her. Failing you. I don’t want to lose you.”
The admission hit me harder than any of his accusations. I could see the guilt and fear that mirrored my own, the weight of promises made in grief and love and uncertainty. But this wasn’t just about him, and it wasn’t about my mom. It was about me.
I took a shaky step forward, Benny’s hand still resting on my shoulder, grounding me. “You’re not failing me,” I said, my voice softening as the anger ebbed away, replaced by something gentler. “But you’ve got to let me live. You’ve got to trust me to make my own choices, even if they’re messy.”
Aunt Gina reached out, squeezing Harold’s arm, her touch a quiet anchor pulling him back. She looked at me, her eyes filled with a sadness that was heavy and old, and nodded slowly. “We just want you to be happy,” she said, her voice choked with the weight of everything left unsaid.
“I am happy,” I whispered, looking up at Benny, who watched me with those steady eyes that had been my rock through it all. “Because I’m finally living for me.”
Uncle Harolds expression softened, the lines of his face deepening as he looked at me, his shoulders sagging under the weight of his own failures. “Forgive me,” he murmured, his voice breaking with raw vulnerability. It wasn’t just an apology for tonight, but for everything—for every time he’d let his anger and grief overshadow his love for me.
Harold bowed his head, the pain etched deep into his features, and without another word, he turned away, his broad, hulking figure seeming smaller, more fragile as he walked toward the door. He moved slowly, like he was dragging the weight of the world behind him, every step heavy with the sorrow of a man who’d tried to do right but hadn’t always known how.
Aunt Gina lingered for a moment, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and quiet reassurance. She reached out, squeezing my arm gently, her touch warm and grounding. “We’re still here, Sunny,” she said softly, her voice laced with a kind of fierce love that made my chest ache. “No matter what, we’re still here for you.”
I nodded, feeling the sting of tears that I refused to let fall. “I know,” I whispered, my voice catching as I met her gaze. “Thank you.”
Gina gave me a soft, reassuring smile, the kind that spoke of years of shared memories, both good and bad. She glanced at Benny, her expression shifting to something like cautious hope, and then back at me, her eyes full of unspoken promises. She turned to follow Harold, her footsteps light but purposeful, and with one last look, she stepped through the door, closing it softly behind her.
With the door closed and my aunt and uncle finally gone, the weight of their words hung heavy in the air, settling deep into my bones. The playfulness of our earlier mood had completely vanished, replaced by something darker and more somber. I stood in the middle of the room, feeling lost, unsure of what to do with myself as the emotional turmoil that always seemed to follow me crept back in. I had thought I’d managed to escape it these past few weeks, hiding in the warmth of Benny’s company, but now it was back, clawing at me with a vengeance.
I sniffed, trying to swallow down the lump in my throat, the familiar sting of tears threatening to break free again. “I need a nap,” I muttered, my voice barely above a whisper. I couldn’t even bring myself to look at Benny, my gaze fixed on the stairs as I rushed past him, desperate to get away, to hide from the flood of emotions crashing over me.
I stumbled into the bedroom, shutting the door behind me and collapsing onto the bed. I curled up into a tight ball, pulling the blankets around me as if they could shield me from everything swirling inside my head. My uncle’s voice echoed, relentless and unforgiving, each word like a dagger twisting deeper. ‘I promised your ma I’d take care of you.’ The guilt, the pressure, the overwhelming sense of being a disappointment—it all wrapped around me, suffocating and relentless.
I buried my face into the pillow, my chest tightening with each shaky breath as I tried to keep it together. But it was no use. The tears came anyway, hot and uncontrollable, spilling over as I silently sobbed into the fabric. The pain of my past, the weight of everyone’s expectations—it was too much. All the anger, the sadness, and the unresolved grief came rushing back, drowning me in a wave of emotions I didn’t know how to handle.
I didn’t hear Benny come in, but I felt the bed dip as he sat beside me, his presence a quiet, grounding force that I hadn’t realized I was desperate for. He didn’t say anything, didn’t ask me to talk or try to pry me open. He simply wrapped his arms around me, pulling me close, his body fitting around mine like a protective shield. I felt his head nestle into the crook of my neck, his breath warm and steady against my skin.
He didn’t let go, didn’t pull back when I tensed, just held me tighter, his arms firm and unyielding. Benny’s embrace was like an anchor, something solid and real in the middle of my storm. His touch was gentle, each stroke of his thumb against my shoulder a silent reassurance that I wasn’t alone, that I didn’t have to carry all of this by myself. I felt the trembling in my body start to ease, the frantic beating of my heart slowly matching the calm, even rhythm of his.
Benny’s presence was more than just comforting; it was life-saving. He grounded me in a way that nothing else could, pulling me back from the edge of my own despair. The panic, the guilt, all the things I kept locked away—they didn’t feel so unbearable with him there, holding me through it. I closed my eyes, letting myself sink into the warmth of his embrace, feeling the tension slowly begin to drain from my muscles.
He kissed my shoulder softly, his lips brushing against my skin in a gesture so gentle it almost broke me all over again. I felt the tears well up once more, but this time they were softer, less frantic, as if Benny’s presence was slowly unwinding the tight knot of pain inside me. I turned slightly, pressing my face into his chest, breathing him in—the scent of leather, smoke, and something uniquely his that always made me feel safe.
“I’ve got you,” Benny whispered, his voice low and hushed, like a secret meant only for me. His hand moved up to cup the back of my head, his fingers threading through my hair as he held me close. “You’re not alone. I’m right here.”
I squeezed my eyes shut, the words breaking through my defenses in a way that nothing else had. Benny didn’t try to fix me, didn’t pretend that he could make everything better, and that was exactly what I needed. He was just there, unconditionally, holding me as I broke down, no judgment, no expectations—just a quiet, unwavering support that made me feel like maybe I could keep going, even when everything felt impossible.
I pulled back just enough to look up at him, my eyes puffy and wet, but his gaze was soft and full of something that made my heart ache. I saw the way he looked at me—not with pity, but with an understanding that went deeper than words. He brushed his thumb across my cheek, wiping away the last of my tears, and I felt the flood of emotion rise up again, but this time it was different, warmer.
“I love you,” I whispered, the confession spilling out before I could second-guess it. It was raw and unguarded, the truth laid bare in the quiet space between us. For the first time, it didn’t feel scary to say. It felt right.
Benny’s face softened, and a smile tugged at his lips, gentle and filled with a quiet joy that made my heart flutter. He leaned in, pressing his forehead against mine, his eyes closing as he let the words sink in. “I love you, too,” he murmured, his voice thick with emotion. “More than you know.”
I melted into him, my arms wrapping around his neck as he held me tighter, his embrace a sanctuary from the world outside. The chaos, the pain, my uncle’s harsh words—they all faded into the background, replaced by the steady, calming presence of Benny beside me. I buried my face against his chest, letting myself be small and vulnerable, knowing that with Benny, I didn’t have to be anything but myself.

another thing i hate about the tekken fandom is how some ppl call jin a "gary stu/mary sue" (then again since when has any comfort character i love ever NOT been called that ex. superman from dc comics and aizen from bleach). like if he really was a gary stu, he would've kicked kazuya's ass in the start of tekken 8 and then kazuya throws a temper tantrum or something. but no, my boy got his shit rocked and got washed badly. kazuya doesn't cry like a baby when he loses to jin. also he fucking loses to hwoarang and miguel. jin also has character flaws like being a tad anti-social due to trust issues by heihachi betarying him and fear that those he cares about might get hurt in the crossfires of his dangerous life. like wtf...then again like i said, literally every character i adore is called that guess i'll just continue to get used to it while enjoying my pookies.
the thing about gary stu / mary sue is that people had completely forgotten what it meant and now believe it means any powerful / strong character. even though the original definition of gary stu / mary sue wasn't Strong Character, but it meant a character that never had any losses, always wins and is good at everything, even skills they realistically wouldn't have, character that has zero flaws (or if they do have "flaws," they're not really flaws / they're likeable flaws) and a character that is virtually liked by everyone (except the bad guy and usually that's just because the bad guy is either jealous or somebody to be hated.)
most people cite tekken 4 as to why jin's a "mary sue" because he was able to defeat kazuya and heihachi. but like. it's important to note that heihachi has been defeated by kazuya at least twice in canon now - so defeating heihachi isn't the Biggest Feat that his fans like to make it out to be. and also heihachi is a strong human, but in the end, he's just a human. and then like, kazuya couldn't even beat paul (they also fought to a draw) and kazuya has canonically lost to heihachi once as an adult. and then we saw how lars has held up his own to kazuya (also just a human). so... we've seen how kazuya can struggle against mere humans before, why is it so shocking he'd lose against a mishima + hachijo (devil) + kazama descendent? also despite being related to one powerful bloodline, and two bloodlines with supernatural powers, it's not like jin is an Expert at Fighting because the lore Said So, jin worked fucking hard to earn his skill. jin spent 4 years straight doing nothing but strenuous training to fight a god. i'm not gonna belittle kazuya's efforts either, but heihachi probably did train jin harder than kazuya given the circumstances (there was likely a time limit as to when heihachi wanted to lure ogre in with the tournament, and he knew he was gonna set jin up against a god/beast. kazuya never ever had to go up against anything like that in tek1.) then after this, jin went another 2 years straight training to learn karate. jin trained, probably virtually nonstop and pushed himself to over the edge, for 6 years. jin is also an expert in three styles of martial arts, which is more than many of the, if not most, of the fighters. we've seen him earn this. it isn't like he didn't do a damn thing and is just good because the story Wants him to be!
tbh it's probs noncanon that jin lost to miguel as most tek endings are noncanon. but still - jin did lose to hwoarang (err... at least came to a draw with him. devil jin canonically lost to him tho LMAO) i guess he lost to lars, too in tek6 as well? and so on - jin has had many losses. there's a reason i often call him a Failboss. and jin's flaws probably outweigh his pros so like... no way jin's a mary sue and i just find it annoying when people try to insist on it. especially when these fans tend to be the type who think heihachi or kazuya can never lose to anyone else haha
i just wish people would realize that powerful characters, even characters who are very skilled in fields, aren't mary sues / gary stus. a character can be powerful and talented and still be a compelling character who isn't perfect.
#✏️ - ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏsᴛ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏsᴛ // (ooc)#✏️ - ᴡʜᴀᴛ ᴅᴏ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ? // (inbox)#// honestly the biggest insults ppl use for jin is calling him a mary sue#// OR calling him edgy#// when both are terribly inaccurate#// the latter for the most part if we ignore the tek6 era at least :/

'Lonely ghost serie'
Proposition and Accord-part VII
"Ghoooost! Good noon!"
"Hello!"
You opened your eyes slowly, barely awake from the deep sleep you had. The grogginess in your voice shadowed by the abnormal deepness of the voice changer.
"Hey, ghost."
"Corpse! Always pleased to hear you."
"Always ,ey?" Toast picked what you said in a more suggestive tone, teasing you with it.
"Cut it ,man."
You didn't bite on the trap however.
" Anyway, mind if I bring a friend?"
"Of course!"
"Sure why not."
"Okay,brb."
"So ,Corpse..."
"To early for that ,Toast."
Near the white astronaut Ghost had, a new little one came. It was black with a pair of headphones and a Wall-e companion. On top the name Charon was displayed.
The others started circling the new mate as Corpse's pink character stood unmoved by your side.
"Good evening!" A low and mature voice came from a woman. It didn't had a mechanical effect to it so it was coming in naturally.
"Hiiiii!"
"Hello!"
"Guys this is Andreea, Andreea this is the Peanut gallery."
"Ha,nice. Good to meet you all."
"Likewise."
"You too."
"Your robot is cute." Corpse remarked.
You smirked when your phone immediately lighted up. A message from Andreea written in big bold letters: 'HIS VOICE IS HOT!'
'I know :)))'
"Andreea , you know how to play this game?"
"Y-Yeah ummm..."
"Sykkuno."
"Sykkuno! Yeah, I know me and Y- I mean ghost sometimes play it. "
"You play together?"
"Well yeah, we play Fallout together, sometimes Minecraft even Eyes the horror game. Speaking of which ghost?"
"Yeah?"
"My place tonight?"
You smirked knowing what's to come.
"Time to corrupt another soul?"
You laughed was intentionally made to be interpreted by the others as evil and dark. In the inside you cringed, you sounded so stupid.
"Umm,guys?" Sykkuno asked for clarification, to which he will not receive.
"YOU GUYS LIVE IN THE SAME CITY?" Pooki asked all excited for some reason.
"Yeah?"
"Same city? We leave in the same apartment building." Andreea told ,a pleasant hiss rang as her long nailed hands opened a Pepsi can.
'Cola is better'
'Fuck off, Y/n'
':))🖕'
"That's so cute!"
"I guess,but she's a pain."
"A pain? Moi? Please, I am only in pain not one."
The others chuckled at your shenanigans, the humour between you and Andreea being based in play fighting, cursing each other and bumping as hard as you can into each. Considering how much of a height difference is between you two, everything just gets more interesting.
"Maan,I want to stay in the same building with you guys also." Corpse pouted.
You two sounded really nice to be with, especially you. You were fun to talk witg and your natural voice was a godsend to his anxiety and insomnia. It made him sometimes slip into a blissful sleep, especially when you began reading to him Doom lore in the late hours of the night.
' "The Maykrs' need for the Essence is prime. Without it they must suffer the monstrous fate of Transfiguration, and see their wisdom and faculties slither from their twisted forms. By bidding of the Khan Maykr herself, the Order of the Deag has devised a method to improve and accelerate the production of the Hell aura. What once took eons for the savage beasts to attai...oof. Wait."
Corpse heard you move in the bed, your body getting its pressure off it before settling back in.
He wanted to start to ask you to read again when he was interrupted by the sound of smooching ? You were kissing somebody?
You puffed and smiled as Sergiu bombarded you with another waves of kisses, a tradition in your group. You all were touched starved creatures so you showed your platonic affections through hand holding, sudden hugging, cuddling- sometimes propping your cold feet on the other person's back just to be dickish- and rains of kisses.
Sergiu was the most affectionate out of all of you, the rain of kisses being something that his mother used to do before she left to work. 'A kiss on the forehead to brighten your thinking, two on the cheeks so no one is lonely and one wherever you want.'
"Alright! Alright! I get it, you are leaving!"
You laughed as you pushed the cuddly golden retriver of a man away.
His chains attached to his black leather belt with grey 3d rombes running all over it clicked as it bounced. His hair smudged on the worn out black leather jacket and his face all but a smile. He was happy and you love to see it.
-Vrei ceva? ("You want something?")
-Umm...PIZZA PĂTRATĂ DE LA DEDEMAN ȘI MOUNTAIN DEW.("Um...SQUARE SHAPED PIZZA FROM DEDEMAN AND MOUNTAIN DEW.")
The man laughed at your antics, roughing up your freshly washed hair and closing the door as he left.
"Corpse? You still there buddy?"
Corpse felt a pang in his chest, you sounded like you have much more fun with the other person. He knew it was stupid but he couldn't help feel jealous and worried at the same time. He wanted to be the reason to make you sound so happy and he didn't want to be worried of being replaced anytime soon.
"Corpse? My petit orchid? Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah,I am fine."
It came out shaky and too abrupt for your liking. Something's wrong and you didn't want to overstep your boundaries but you couldn't let him go about his day while having something munching on his good mood.
"Hey,hey Corpse."
"Yes?"
"Wanna see my cat?"
"YOU HAVE A CAT?"
"Yes,so do you..."
"Hell yeah. I mean...sure I am cool with that."
You shook your head and became giggling, it's good to know you weren't the only one who didn't know how to cover their slip ups.'
"Trust me Corpse. You don't want to live with this anxiety filled owl."
"HEY! My anxiety adds spice."
"Oh my god!"
"Guys, guys. Can we start the game please?"
"Oh for sure."
————————————————————
"Watch out for the wall, ghost. Watch out for--GHOST! Oh shit ,I lost her guys! Ghost, where are you?"
His character ran in desperate search to find you. When it left the snowy environment from outside , it stopped abruptly. You were there in the office with Sykkuno ripped apart body in front of you.
"Oh shit! Sykkuno!"
His thoughts ran wilde as they hurried to reach a consensus. He knew that you will probably kill him also as you waited for those 10 seconds to pass.
His premonition was proven true went you shut the doors of the office , your character moving slowly towards him.
"Ahhh! Guys ,what the hell do I do?"
His eyes clenched shut as his finger hovered the report button.
The sound of a meeting went off, forcing him to let out the breath he's been withholding. His hands shook as he relaxed himself when his friends started discussing aka screaming at each other.
Someone else called in another body.
You held your fingernails between your lips, leg bouncing from the nerves. You knew Corpse will snitch you out, after all you did killed Sykkuno.
I am so fucked...
Your body covered in a white and black hoodie contorted itself into a smaller position. You ignored the pain that your dead thighs were trying to emit while being in a cross position. Head to busy with anxious thoughts of what Corpse may do.
"Phew, Jesus. I am too nervous for this game."
Andreea's words caught you off guard. She nervous? It's more likely than you think.
Your feelings long forgotten as your protective nature sprung out of the shell.
"You? Nervous? Andreea you are a freaking talented tattoo artist."
"It doesn't matter, my hands are sweating like they are the Danube river."
"Wait ,are you a tattoo artist?"
"Yeah ,I am. I started tatto--"
Mission accomplished! Your goal wasn't to comfort, you knew you sucked at that but to distract. To take her mind away from whatever cause her pain ,then to secretly totally not obviously attack the shit of whatever upset her even bad vibes. Fuck them bad vibes! You and your friends are bad bitches not second hand embarrassments.
"It will be nice if I could do henna also but this hoarding gremlin was only calm enough when she did them. So basically it became her summer job."
Ah. Your mind realised she was telling them how you two met.
You wanted to get some henna tattoos, see if you liked the way the look at you. Andrea was just a beginner when you entered the tattoo shop and her life.
You weren't always an anxious person, the situation changed when your math teacher decided to be a bitch and humiliate you for not knowing geometry. Since then you were always out of breath when you spoke in public, always bouncing your leg when stressed , biting off your nails and having a constant dread when it came socialising with others. And when you are a big girl that amplifies considerably.
People are just shallow like that and you learned a long time ago that their intolerance towards you was a THEY problem rather than a YOU problem.
It's hard thought, sometimes their words and disgusted glares burn you from inside out. Make you feel inhuman ,that your anger, sadness and your passion don't mean anything ,that they are not valid, that you cannot be yourself and liked at the same time nevermind seen as a romantic interest.
But I digress, when it came with Andreea ,everything when abnormally smooth, you joked and laughed, bitch about people and so on. You hit off immediately.
So when you wanted to make a bit of cash ,Andreea didn't hesitate to teach you how to do temporary tattooing.
"That's so nice guys, the body was in specimen room by the way." Dave said.
The others for some reason started blaming Rae , you didn't said nothing as you were still waiting with your breath tight for Corpse to rat you out.
"Corpse? Where were you by the way?"
Here comes the expose.
"I ..uh...wait. I was in the storage then I met Sykkuno in the office but left with ghost."
What?
"Ghost? Can you collaborate his story?"
"Yeah , me and him left Sykkuno. I think orange was with him last time we saw. I am done with my tasks by the way."
"What?"
"LUDWIG! HOW DARE YOU KILL SYKKUNO?!" Corpse growled.
You muted yourself as you squealed. You couldn't believe him. He really took your side!
You took a sip of your green tea, patting yourself on the back for being calm and getting back in the game.
————————————————————
"How could you ,Corpse? I trusted you and you stab me behind my back." Sykkuno exclaimed, pout evident in his voice.
"I am sorry Sykkuno..i-it's just...I...uhh.."
Your microphone was not muted this time so when you burst in laughter you dominated the whole discussion. You laughed ugly but happy as you always did, holding your lower abdomen as it clenched muscle you didn't know you have.
"It's NOT funny, ghost!"
"It'S nOt FuNnY, GhOsT! Bwahaha..."
Despite laughing ,deep down you worried you may have offended your new friends? Nah, too early to call them that.
"I think I know why Corpse did what he did." Grease started in a dramatic sober voice.
"You mean cheated on Sykkuno."
Ludwig ignited couple of laughter from the group.
"Yeah. He did it....drumb rolls please. "
Sean provided the suspenseful roll.
"Because he is a SIMP."
"WHAT?"
"No way..."
"You heard me."
The group went wilde. You didn't know what you could say, your mind crazy yet also numb. Poor Corpse.
"Hey, hey. Guys, please calm down. If you want to come for someone, come for my neck."
Your hands flared up into a peaceful backing sign, you knew of Corpse's bad anxiety and you didn't want to cause him distress by bringing the limelight into his face.
"It's alright, ghost. I am a big boy, I can take it."
You tried to keep it short, you really did but your mind wanted to say one more thing.
"Just like you can open foil?"
You heard a breath intake. You lowered your volume, thinking of what he may do.
"I FUCKING HATE FOIL!"
————————————————————
"Tonight was fun." Corpse said after taking a sip of water.
"Yeah, it was."
You watched your dark hair moving in the air as you played with your toes.
"Sorry again for bringing all the...uh...attention on you."
"It's fine,ghost. I know you didn't mean it."
"Y/n."
"What?"
"My name is Y/n."
Ah!
His heart jumped a bit ,you told him your name that means you trust him right. Lily doesn't know your name so he is the first to know. The first to guard this special information.
"Ghost was kinda wearing down, you know?"
"Y-yeah,...uhh..I mean no! Yes? No? Fuck...It's a pretty name,um...Y/n."
You haulted, getting used to him saying your name will take a while.
"Heh,thanks Corpsie."
"Mhmmm, did you have time to think about what I told you?"
Couple of nights ago,Corpse proposed the idea of starting your own Youtube channel. You were hesitant.
"Corpse, I told I don't think people really like me. I think they just like the voice."
"Non sense. You watched our stream?"
"Noo...? Sorry,I didn't really have time to..."
"Hey, it's okay goofball. Anyway, they were asking more videos with you. Maybe some of them like you because of your voice but most of them like you because they like your personality, gh- Y/n."
"Yeah, I guess..."
"Look you don't have to do it if you don't want to. I just feel bad for all the fans that want to talk with you or sometimes I found something funny and I want to send you or tag you. It's stupid I know."
You didn't like the sad tone of his, your heart tightened and your worries worsened.
"I think I am going to sleep. Goodnight, ghost."
"'Night,Corpse."
You were left in the darkness of your room, at the end of the bed with your long fingers reaching towards your knife, your personal fidget spinner. You chew your nail as you moved the blade unconsciously.
Corpse's account:
.ghost added you. Add them back?

PART 7
———
“Alisha,” Baldwin handed the photos back to Marcus and turned to give her a look of concern, “you need more sleep, it’s still early.”
“I can’t sleep anymore, I need to do stuff. What’s that about?” She nodded to the items Marcus was now hiding in his bag.
“Family matters, very dull and very much not your problem.”
“But-“
“You’re hungry,” Baldwin cut her off walking over to stand in front of her, “you didn’t eat a lot yesterday.”
“I’m not hungry.” She assured him.
“That wasn’t a question.”
“What aren’t you telling me?”
“Alisha!”
She sighed, knowing that she was pushing against a brick wall. If she was ever to find anything out, she had to abandon this route.
“I guess I could eat,” she relented, “and clearly you both have something to talk about so I’ll leave you to it.” She took a step as though she was headed to the kitchen but he caught her hand.
“And where do you think you’re going?”
“To make breakfast. Is it stupid to ask you both if you want anything?”
“I’m more of a liquid breakfast guy.” Marcus joked.
“We’re fine and you are doing no such thing. Go take a long, relaxing shower and I’ll have something you’ll like ready for when you’re done.”
“Go take a shower? Do I smell so bad?” She asked them with a hint of offence.
“If only,” Baldwin mumbled to himself, “now please, do as I ask?”
“I need clothes!”
“Walk-in, first wardrobe on the left, I had some delivered yesterday.”
“You bought me new clothes?”
“Don’t worry, I didn’t choose them, Christina did!”
“I’m such an asshole, I didn’t even ask, how is she?”
“Still a vampire, so mostly recovered. She’ll be by later, wants to check up on you.”
“Good, I’d like to see her, and maybe also see what’s on Michael’s drive?”
“Long day.” Marcus commented.
“One thing at a time,” Baldwin answered pointedly, “go.”
“Yes, my Lord.” She hit back with sarcasm with an awful curtsy.
“Don’t say that, he might like it!” Marcus scrunched up his noise in disgust.
“Might?” Baldwin didn’t look at Marcus but instead gave Alisha a mischievous wink followed by a nod of the head in the direction of his huge walk-in closet.
“She seems better than yesterday at least.” Marcus commented when she was out of earshot.
“It’s been a long, hellish, few days for her. She’s strong, she’ll survive this!”
“Then, what? You just wave her off after her testimony at the congregation? Wish her well and go your separate ways?”
“I can feel you straining for a point Marcus and it’s painful to endure. Out with it!”
“Last night was a mistake! When she does finally go face Gerbert and Domenico, they will smell you all over her. I don’t care how long or relaxing a shower she takes, your claim is very much on her!”
“And I believe I told you not to discuss matters you don’t understand. I have put no claim on her, I have neither fed on her, nor have I possessed her in any other way!”
“You didn’t even hesitate, when Guillermo had her by the throat. I saw it, you didn’t weigh up what killing him could cost.”
“Just because it appears I act without thought, does not mean it’s not happening.”
“I know your mind works fast Baldwin, I’m telling you, there was nothing going on but animal fury. I’ve seen you in battle, and fighting with Matthew but I have never seen that expression before. You weren’t calculating, your brain was not engaged, it was primeval!”
“Please drop the poetic flourish. Like I said, he harmed someone under my roof and protection, yes, I was angry!”
A beep from a cell phone nearby alerted his attention and he picked it up to see the caller ID.
“Fuck,” he swore, “of all the things I don’t need right now!”
“Who is it?” Marcus asked but Baldwin had already hit the button to pick up the call
“Agatha.” Baldwin answered.
“Where is she?” The daemon responded, just as curtly.
“Miss Black is under the protection of the Knights of Lazarus, she will be delivered to the Congregation when it is safe to do so, given the attempt already made on her life.”
“Michael was killed by one of your kind and you expect me to surrender Alisha to your hands. Also, you owe me, unless you’ve forgotten. If it wasn’t for the daemons you’d be a pile of ash!”
Marcus frowned at this overheard statement.
“Do not play games with me Agatha! We both know the only reason you helped me was for your son and his family, all of whom are right now taking refuge in my family estate.“
“Are you threatening them.”
“I am no more a threat to them as I am to Alisha.”
There was a sharp inhale at the other end of the line.
“So it is true? I was told of your indiscretion with the girl by her orchestra master but I didn’t believe it until now. I did think you were above that sort of thing however, keeping a Nightingale is a move Gerbert or Knox would make.”
“Do not call her that!” Baldwin answered sharply and Marcus could swear he heard her heartbeat skip in fright over the bad line.
“What should I call it when a vampire or witch take whatever they want with no regard to the consequences.”
“If memory serves, you actively assisted Matthew and the witch, why are consequences suddenly such a concern to you?”
“Like you said, that affected my family and, from what I saw, your brother genuinely cares for Diana Bishop. I have no issues with her, she can take care of herself and she is not one of my own. Alisha is, and she has no defence against whatever game you are playing.”
“You’ll have to take me at my word that she is safest with me.”
“Is she a prisoner?”
“No.”
“A thrall?”
“I’m not Gerbert.” Baldwin answered through gritted teeth.
“No-one has seen her in the past two days Baldwin.”
There was silence on the other end of the line.
“Knox has contacted me,” she continued, “with completely fake concern for her. If you don’t provide proof that she is alive and well there is every chance they will take that as pretext to move against you.”
“They?”
“I don’t trust Domenico and Gerbert may well be Satan himself, you at least have a code of honour. The daemons will not move against you in this matter if you promise me, right now that she is both alive and well.”
“She’s alive. Gerbert’s lackey Guillermo almost drained her but she’s mostly recovered from that. She’s lost someone dear to her so, again, it’ll take time.”
“When you arrive in Venice, I want to see her first, before the Congregation!”
“Understood.” Baldwin hung up.
“What was that about the daemons helping you?”
“Gerbert making a power play is what I call a Tuesday, Marcus, it is nothing to be concerned about. He was trying to use my refusal to hand over Matthew and Diana as grounds to replace me.”
“What now, they want to see her?”
Baldwin pulled up the Calendar on his phone.
“They will! There is something I have to do first.”
———
Alisha stepped out of the shower and dried off before dressing and exiting the bathroom to an empty apartment.
She followed the alluring scent of breakfast to the kitchen and found a post-it note beside a silver plate cover.
Eat.
Christina will be over soon. I’ll explain everything later. B x
She wondered what someone who didn’t even eat would need a domed plate cover for.
Entertaining guests, obviously.
Not long after she’d eaten, the sound of the door opening alerted her to the fact she was no longer alone.
“Alisha!” Christina called out.
“Christina.” Alisha followed her voice to the main room and noticed three other women behind her. She moved to hug the vampire but noted her freeze for a second.
“What?” Alisha asked.
Christina just shook her head and pulled Alisha into a hug.
“What’s happening?” Alisha asked, noting the the rack of stunning dresses being wheeled in behind the strangers.
“Baldwin is taking you to a silent auction. He was invited some time ago, had no intention of attending.”
“Why is he?”
“I think he wanted to get you out of the house.”
“Are we ready?” Asked a woman with the measuring tape around her neck and a pin cushion bracelet around her wrist.
———
Brian Cassidy closed the door of his office and the sound of musical practicing a few rooms over.
That’s when he felt it, the cold creeping into his bones from the focal point between his shoulder blades. The uninvited guest was behind him.
He glanced at the door handle, calculating his chances.
“Your dismembered hand would reach the corner of the room before it made it to the handle!” The voice answered his unasked question.
“Step away from the door and turn around, slowly!” The voice commanded, his tone as cold as his stare.
Brian did as he was ordered, his expression one of fear upon seeing the surprise visitor.
“De Clermont,” his voice shook, “here to kill me like you did poor Michael?”
Baldwin gave a theatrical sigh.
“Now, why would I do that?”
“The girl, just like the witch your brother abducted, you De Clermont’s-“
His sentence was stopped by the acute lack of air caused by his being lifted inches from the ground by the throat.
“I don’t hear the phrase ‘you de Clermont’s’ come out of your mouth a second time. Do you understand?”
The daemon nodded and Baldwin sat him back down on his feet, choking for air.
“Who did you have spy on Alisha Black and why?”
“There was no spying,” he explained, “Michael was friend, I was doing him a favour!”
“By threatening her?”
“An idle threat, I assure you. Regardless of her choice, it was important to Michael that she be kept safe!”
“Is that why you told Guillermo?”
“Who?”
Baldwin stared at him for a moment before realising his confusion was real.
“The vampire who killed Michael and almost killed Alisha!”
“Is she alright, where is she?”
“She’s safe, answer the question!”
“Of course I didn’t talk to a vampire. I told Agatha Wilson though.”
“I’m aware.”
“I had to,” Brian answered with mock concern, “fraternising between species is prohibited under the covenant.”
“I get it-“
“Much in the same way that daemons gathering together is also against the coven-“
“You’ve made your point!” Baldwin cut him off.
“And you’ve made that girl a target.”
“Believe me, her life was endangered by whatever it was your friend was involved in.“
“It was always in danger, you brought her to their attention.”
Baldwin’s eyes narrowed in understanding.
“Why would a daemon be a target, what did Michael know?”
“You’ll have to kill me because I would die before I put her in further danger by telling you anything!”
Baldwin cocked his head to the side and approached slowly, like a predator sizing up it’s prey. Despite his fear, Brian stood resolute.
“No matter,” Baldwin shrugged, remembering the drive Michael left Alisha, “you clearly have concern for her. Worth keeping you alive at least.”
Baldwin walked towards the door.
“De Clermont.” Brian called after him.
Baldwin stopped but didn’t turn around.
“As much as I loathe you and your family for your part in the daemons struggles, I care about her more. We’re not capable of standing against your kind or the witches. Agatha means well but you can’t let her take the girl-”
“No-one is taking her from me,” Baldwin cut him off and turned to fix the daemon with a cold stare, “stay in New York where I can find you. If I have to hunt you down I cannot promise to be as merciful! again.”
Alisha glanced down at her plunging neckline, barely concealed by the lace that covered up the bodice part of the dress, with trepidation.
“Am I being auctioned off?” She half-joked.
“Stop it, you look amazing!” Christina scolded, fluffing out the skirts, made up of what had to be thousands of soft black feathers that made up the bottom part of the gown.
“Black tie event, black dress.” Geraldine, the seamstress, explained as she buttoned the last fastening at the nape of Alisha’s neck.
“It’s crazy soft.” Alisha ran her fingers through the feathers.
“Almost done.” Helen, the hair stylist pinned the last braid into the updo she’d fashioned for the event, leaving just two wayward curls to frame Alisha’s face, the rest swept up into a complicated latticework that would be impossible to replicate on her own.
With Christina in front of her, she knew Baldwin had returned with the cold sensation of his gaze upon her.
“Well,” She asked without turning around, “will I do?”
“You’re perfect.” He answered and she noted the satisfied glances between Helen and Geraldine.
They said their goodbyes and well wishes for the evening and left.
“Will there be any other vampires there tonight?” Christina asked Baldwin.
“More than likely.” He admitted.
“Then tell her, she doesn’t know the rules.” She chided him before turning back to Alisha.
“I won’t see you for a few days. I’m heading to London but I’m sure we’ll catch up again soon.” The vampire told Alisha, giving her shoulder a sympathetic squeeze before giving Baldwin a farewell nod.
With Christina gone, they were alone again.
“Look at you!” Alisha grinned, admiring the bow tie and tuxedo combination.
“Trust me, no-one will be looking at me tonight!”
“Where’s Marcus?”
“He had to leave, urgent business at home.”
“Any other nieces or nephews around?”
“Well, there’s Gallowglass. He will be attending this event.”
“So I get to meet more members of the De Clermont Clan?” She smiled.
“In time.”
“Even your infamous brother?”
“Not if I can help it!” He answered decisively, his tone failing to disguise the suppressed shudder.
She frowned.
“You don’t get on?”
“That’s...putting it mildly! Matthew has issues and I have no intention of putting a warmblood in his path!”
She nodded, deciding not to push.
To say she’d figured out how to ‘manage’ him would be wrong but she knew when to retreat from a line of questioning. If she pushed too hard she’d get nothing and he’d be more reticent to provide further detail in the future.
“Sorry,” she gave him a contrite smile, “I didn’t mean to pry.”
“Happily forgiven,” he approached and took her hand in his, “we have to discuss the rules.”
“That sounds ominous.” She retorted, recognising the topic shift.
“I know but it’s actually very simple. Do not offer your hand in greeting to anyone tonight. If they are human, they will offer theirs first.”
“And if they’re a vampire?”
“They won’t touch you.”
“Guillermo did.”
“That was then.” He answered quickly, his thumb lightly stroking her wrist just above her pulse.
“Given what you did to him I can understand someone else been wary about trying the same.”
“There’s more to it than that.” He admitted
“I’m listening.” She prompted gently.
“It’s not easy to explain, its...” he trailed off, trying to buy himself time to think, “vampires are driven by instinct, as civilised as we may appear, and territorial. When Guillermo bit you, he left his scent on you-“
“Do I still smell like him,” she interrupted in a slight panic, “what did he even smell like, is it bad?”
Alisha rubbed at her neck, over a now mostly healed mark.
“That’s weird, it feels...different!”
“I healed the wound with my own blood, just a few drops. It repaired the damage and erased what he did. You don’t have his scent on you, just-“
“Yours?”
He nodded slowly as though reluctant to admit it.
“Last night, I shouldn’t have stayed.”
“I asked you to, and I’m glad you did.”
“You were upset, you weren’t thinking clearly and I should have been. I fucked up, I let you down.”
“So, you think that being an uncaring asshole would have made the situation better?”
“Being genuinely uncaring where you’re concerned would not be possible but, yes, I should have made a performance of it.”
“Do you know why I was so upset last night?” She asked, taking him aback.
“The pen drive, Michael’s name for you. I’m not the most sensitive male you’ve ever met but I’m not completely hopeless!”
“Why last night? Why not the night it happened, before Guillermo showed up?”
“Shock.”
She shook her head.
“No, it’s the same reason I actually managed to sleep last night. It was the first time I’ve felt safe since this whole thing started,” she admitted quietly, “if that’s what being ‘yours’ means, I can live with that.”
“Alisha-“
“We should go.” She stopped him with a hand on his arm, not needing a response.

two can play at that game | kim taehyung
↬ summary; payback is best served with a smile
↬ genre; just some crackhead mature fluff, viagra prank, youtuber!couple,
↬ warnings; cursing, inappropriate language
• •
6/7
the only problem with dating kim taehyung, a member of the infamous Bangtantv YouTube channel, was the pranks. taehyung was the king of pranks. he was always doing anything he could to create content for the channel, which meant most of the time you got caught in the crossfire being his significant other.
sometimes the pranks were funny and even had you laughing in the end. but the most recent one? when he and the boys pranked you with thinking he was cheating on you. it really hit home for you and honestly he had to do a lot of talking with you before you just let it go. well, so he thought.
the boys were soon to go on a business trip and you thought that was a perfect opportunity to get him back, why not right?
“hello army! it’s y/n here! today is taehyung’s day to vlog and he actually left it to me to vlog cause he’s lazy and to edit his video once he leaves so I thought - hmm this is the perfect time to play a prank on him.”
you laughed giddily to yourself then shook your head,”he’s downstairs actually making me cookies to make up for the last prank he pulled on me and he thinks I’ve been recording all day because I’m going to miss him which is like partially true but anyway, he doesn’t know what’s coming for him!”
you reached over to your side table for the viagra pill packet and showed it to the camera,”so I bought the viagra extreme pill so I’m just wondering how bad this will be for him.”
humming in thought, you turned the package in your palm”recently I got tae into taking vitamins. his health wasn’t too great a while back and I suggested him taking them with me and he usually just takes what I give him because well - trust. so I’m going to slip the pill to him with his vitamins and I guess you guys will just have to see what happens!”
right as you were grabbing taehyung’s vitamins, you heard him calling you.
“baby! come love me!”
you hopped off the bed and took the camera with you, almost running to him. when you got to the living room, he was laying down on the couch and he had his arms open for you.
“the cookies are cooling on the counter whenever you’re ready for them,”he said motioning for you to come to him. smiling, you aimed the camera at him and he pouted,”come to me and give me love.”
“I got your vitamins, you haven’t taken them today,” you said in response but still made your way to him. when you were finally in arms reach, taehyung pulled you down onto his lap and wrapped his legs and arms around you. you both making weird faces at the close proximity of the camera.
snaking your arm out of his embrace, you held out the vitamins - and the pill - and taehyung just held his mouth open. compliantly, you dropped them on his tongue. reaching for his water bottle, he took a swig and he swallowed the pills without hesitation before he snuggled himself into the crook of your neck making you smile.
“I’m going to miss you pookie.”
“ew, I thought you said you weren’t going to call me that on camera,”you complained leaning your head on his. taehyung giggled and pressed a kiss to your temple,”I know but I’m going to miss you so I’m sadly being really cheesy,”he looked into the camera and grinned like a kid,”isn’t she so pretty? I’m gonna miss my baby,”
you fake gagged and leaned forward to set up the camera on the coffee table, “it’s only going to be a week or two,” you said slipping out of his grasp only for him to hold you tighter,”babe I just want food I’ll be right back.” reluctantly, he let go and settled back on the couch, his puppy eyes followed you to the kitchen and when you came back, you pecked his lips before jumping over the couch and settling in his arms again.
chewing on a piece of cookie, you smiled at the camera as taehyung began peppering your face and neck with kisses.
you played it cool though you could feel his semi-hard on on your lower back.
“hmm you know it’s gonna be a while before I leave,” his large hands gripped your thighs, rubbing them tenderly,”have I ever told you that you have beautiful thighs?”
the feeling tickled you and you squirmed away from it,”you tell me all the time actually.”
“well can I show you?” he whispered, camera long forgotten as he pressed his body closer to yours. you gave him an innocent smile and shook your head,”nah babe I’m good,”
taehyung dropped his head on your shoulder but you got up quick and grabbed the camera. “you still gotta finish packing and you’re the one supposed to be vlogging,”
you started towards the stairs but he was hot on your heels, “okay you can vlog this, I’m sure it’s nothing none of them have ever seen before,” taehyung wrapped his arms around your waist and kept your bodies close so you were basically dragging him up the stairs.
“y’all need to get your boy, trying to be all freaky and stuff on camera.”
“but babe! just put the camera down for like ten, fifteen minutes - ah fuck when did these pants get so tight?”
you giggled, pulling out of his grip to enter your bedroom. you put the camera down on your tv stand and it gave a good clear view of the entire room.
taehyung came in soon after and grabbed your arm, pulling you to his chest. he cupped your face brushing his lips against yours. you tried to lean back but he was capturing your lips in a kiss, his lips moving expertly in sync with yours.
as much as you wanted to continue, you pulled away biting your lip,”so what’s the business meeting going to be about?”
taehyung groaned and tried to pull you back in for a kiss but you backed up towards his discarded suitcase that had more clothes surrounding it than in it.
“I don’t know it’s a meeting about the channel, a business deal or something. now can you come back here? oh my shit.” he groaned but you bent down to start finishing his suitcase.
“tae tae, no means no.” you replied innocently, not looking up at him. you didn’t realize he had taken off his shirt and you glanced up in surprise when the shirt landed beside you.
“is it hot in here? or just me? did you turn on the heater again?”
you had to stifle a laugh at the sight of him trying to adjust his jeans but failing.
“I’m going crazy in here, oh my god this shit hurts.”
you acted like you didn’t hear him, continuing to fold his clothes. “so I was thinking when you come back we can go visit your parents, I’ve been meaning to see your mom so we could cook together again.”
“yeah, yeah babe whatever,”he replied impatiently kicking off his pants, you looked up a bit in shock at just how hard he was. “y/n, my dick is fucking throbbing. is this normal?” you bit your lip watching as he crawled onto the bed as slow as turtle, groaning the whole way.
“stop being dramatic tae,”
taehyung laid on his back, opening his legs as if he was going into labor, doing a breathing in and out loudly,“I’m dying, this is it. my death certificate is going to say: death by implosion of the penis!”
laughing, you stood up from the floor and joined him on the bed, sitting just a bit away from him.“I doubt a viagra pill will make your dick implode.”
taehyung stared at you wildly,“I’m sorry, come again my love, you said a viagra pill?”
smiling innocently you shook your head,”how’s your dick feeling right now?”
“like it’s about to fall off! y/n l/n why in the fuck would you give me viagra?” he gasped dramatically holding a hand to his chest, before harshly whispering,”are you trying to criticize my performance in the bedroom?”
“to that I have to say you’re doing a fine job but nah, this is just payback.” you confided, as coolly as possible.
you hopped off the bed just as he was moving to grab you. he rolled onto his back again painfully as you picked up the camera and smiled happily at it.
“y/n! I have to meet the boys at the airport in an hour! I said I was sorry!”
“guess you should’ve thought about that before you pranked me.”
“babe I prank you all the time!” taehyung stared down at his boxer briefs in disbelief, “you’re so evil to me.”
you angled the camera to him, catching the way he rolled off the bed and began waddling to the bathroom in a painful way.
“turn the camera off!” he yelled making you snort in laughter before smiling at the camera
“have a nice rest of your day guys-“ taehyung started yelling a string of profanities from the bathroom, yelling that you started a war you couldn’t finish.
“we’ll see about that babe!” looking back at the camera you shrugged, “see you guys later!”
