do you think there’ll ever be another fallout game, and will it live up to its legacy? ik they announced/confirmed it or whatever, but that doesn’t mean shit in the game industry
I think there will definitely be seeing that the show is doing well and we know studios like Bethesda will beat the horse until it's dead and then some.
I feel like the game won't be bad but will have the same sentiments that Fallout 4 and 76 got in terms of comparison to both the show and games prior. I think it will be even more commercial and appeal to the newer not die-hard fans and be more similar to 4 with a pre-backstory protag and may run a risk of getting rid of a gameplay aspect like how traits are in Fallout 4 :/
I don't want to believe it will be bad or lackluster but it definitely is going to be different and feel stale for long-timers as the franchise will def be trying to make the game easy to get into (including the lore) by simplifying things or establishing things that may have been forgotten or trying to keep people who purely got into it from the show.
I feel like the issue with Fallout is that you kinda need to move away from the barren wasteland aspects but that only is interesting and on brand if you've been there awhile. Hearing about a game based in the aftermath of a nuclear war and seeing like little evidence outside creatures and some toxic waste feels like a cop out even if you know each game has society getting better and better.
It really is the question will Fallout 5 or whatever it is feel like something new?
#i enjoy the lore the most so I can excuse a lot of gameplay if its good#but since a lot of themes and events keep getting set back to zero its hard to justify what is taken away with what is supplemented#ask#anon#fallout#i have hope just because no game has been AWFUL but theres a semi aggrience that theres been declines in quality or recongnizablity in#a few areas
