Had a dream/barely-lucid thought (indistinguishable to me) last night of a Fates AU where Anankos' soul/human form just....didn't die, I guess? Like he somehow just made it through the events of Hidden Truths? But it was six months after the end of the Conquest route and Anankos had managed to get out of Valla and escape his insane dragon-self. He went straight to Nohr, knowing that's where he sent the Awakening trio and that Lilith followed as well.

Meanwhile, in Nohr, the royal siblings are working on rebuilding their country after everything Garon did. Then some hooded stranger shows up at the castle asking for an audience with Princess Corrin, and saying that some of the royal retainers can vouch for him. (Live Laslow, Selena, and Odin reaction: "oh fuck".)

Anankos...ended up introducing himself as Corrin's father, I think? Xander in particular didn't exactly believe him and was demanding proof of his claims. Anankos also tried to explain that he knew what it was that possessed Garon and where that evil power came from. Corrin could corroborate the existence of the hidden kingdom, but Corrin also kinda started having a mental breakdown when she realized she had to tell Anankos what had happened to Mikoto. And Lilith. And then Anankos was deeply disturbed to learn about Azura disappearing too.
