Yeah. The plague mask + steampunk aesthetic works really well together. I remember when steampunk was first getting big in the USA years ago, plague masks were a favorite addition to cosplay and costumes.
It's very reminiscent to the WWI gas masks in some ways, only with the beak rather than a ventilator or a hose connected to a ventilator.
You should do it if you have the opportunity. I would talk with more cosplayers to get some ideas, bc there's some really creative people in that space.
