worse yet is having said oc interact with the canon cast and being involved in their stories and worrying about messing up with writing the canon characters and their arcs bc of it. and once again being yelled at for it

the tokomaru relationship arc in UDG is so fucking good, do you know how much it stresses me out that i could potentially fumble it with the addition of a third wheel tagging alongside them

the desire to write a fanfic of "the events of one of the canon DR games but with the addition of a New Character That Is An OC" but the worry of undermining the core writing and thematics of the original game's story in the process and getting yelled at by the fandom at large for doing so

i'm 30 and this is an actual concern i have

#gen rambles #this isn't even going with what i wanna do with the WOH #i am absolutely going to make recurring boss masaru a thing. yes it will mean maka will throw hands with a child. repeatedly.#also a proper fucking ending for those kids because god damn #i have a lot of things planned for maka in DR1 and UDG and unfortunately a lot of anxiety with wanting to publicly discuss those things #or even write about them to post on the internet #and since i bring her up i might as well tag with #shsl rebel #i have a very diff cadence to how i wanna write DR compared to how others write DR fics #think among the lines of an adult swim show or ryu ga gotoku is how i ideally wanna go about it #i'm not good at writing mysteries but character interactions and comedy are my forte #ultimately it's self-indulgent and something exploratory of both myself and my experience with DR as a series #but i like making things for people to enjoy as well #people i talk to in dms really like maka but i worry about public perception of her #idk im rambling a lot but #anxiety sucks man!!! esp in regards to past experiences with other fandoms!!!#aaaaaaaaaaaugh!
