time for more ouat au Lore! this time: steddie edition

this is how steve dresses in the real world. in the real world he’s a teacher at the school (honestly debated on teacher or keeping him at the family video but i think teacher worked better) keeping in with actual ouat lore, he’d be the one to give max the story book.

in the enchanted forest/fairytale land. steve was a prince. a prince who was originally supposed to marry nancy (and uh. that didn’t go as planned) but he’s like, the prince. (he resents being called prince charming but, it’s the truth!) but these are his outfits/outfit references for prince steve

in the real world, eddie is a mechanic. he can fix any car (or really, anything you bring to him) but he’s also a DM for his dnd group and he plays guitar/sings for his band, corroded coffin. but when he’s not working in the auto shop, wearing cuffed/rolled up coveralls, he’s wearing this

in the enchanted forest/fairytale land, eddie is a blacksmith! he and wayne work on weapons and such. until one day he decides he’s had enough of royal tyranny and their oppressive reign. so he decides to rob the princes carriage (steve’s carriage) turns out, he meets steve and though he’s incredibly reluctant to admit it, it’s true love. they go from enemies to lovers, fighting off curses—the biggest one being the sleeping curse. eddie is put under a sleeping curse, and wayne, thinking he’s dead, gives him a glass casket. but steve knows better, and he knows he’s the one who has to bring eddie back. and he does! so these outfits range from eddie’s ‘bandit’ outfit to ‘holy shit i’m with prince steve harrington’ outfits

I found my old list of ST fic ideas, circa September 2022. The current status of all ideas:

Robin & Jonathan 1983 Friendship Story: this is Tomorrow’s a Long Way Off, which is almost done.

Mid-twenties single parents Jancy AU (+Steve): this is still an idea that might be written.

AU where Jonathan stays in Hawkins S4: I abandoned this because I couldn’t really make it make sense to myself. Some ideas from this story migrated to other fics, though.

S3 Stoncy where Steve tries to fix Jancy breakup: this is still an idea, although it’s really more like “Steve wants to get back together with Nancy but he also wants to be friends with Jonathan but he thinks Jonathan’s kind of hot now but he’s kind of pissed off at the possibility that Nancy didn’t even dump him for her True Forever Love.” He’s very confused.

S4 AU Fake Jonathan death: I didn’t write this because it was too sad/complicated.

Trilogy—no monsters AU—Nancy gets tired of popular girl life. Rebels. Lesbian?: this became a few separate ideas (Nancy Wheeler Can’t Win, where she is not a lesbian, and a few one-shots where she’s bi and hooks up with a girl).

Trilogy—no monsters AU—Jonathan struggles with depression and first gen college probs, Barb and Nancy friendship?: this is part of my Stonathan IU idea.

Trilogy—no monsters AU—Steve learns stuff at college, hooks up with Jonathan: ditto.

Very Sad AU where Will dies and Joyce goes crazy—Jancy version: this morphed into Tonight, Tonight.

Same as above but no Jancy. Teen runaway Jonathan: ditto.

Sad Jargyle rebound fic: this got folded into my Jancy breakup duology fic idea. It’s not actually that sad!

Steve Is Bummed Out That Jonathan Doesn’t Care More About S4 BS: I still have this idea.

Tommy has gift of prophecy: I also still have this idea. He doesn’t straightforwardly have it, though.

AU where Jonathan goes missing instead of Will: I kind of did this in Put This Silence in My Heart in a Better Place.

S2 AU where Stoncy are all friends…and then more: I forgot about this one! The idea is that Nancy breaks up with Steve shortly after Christmas 1983 but also gives up on reaching out to Jonathan for the time being, so they’re all in their separate spheres when S2 rolls around and forces them to hang out together. I don’t actually get a lot of mileage out of rewriting seasons (in fic form) in a way that I think would have actually worked on the show, which is probably why this didn’t go anywhere.

I finally made a list of all my ST WIPs and fic ideas, and they basically break down into five categories (Cute, Regular, Weird, Dark, and Super-Dark) and three lengths (oneshot, short multi-chapter, and long multi-chapter). Here is the list of working titles:

Nancy Wheeler Can't Win: no-UD AU but Nancy has to figure out how to navigate high school cliques and family stuff and the Annual Turkey Trot is tomorrow!!! Jancy eventually.

Life During Wartime: companion to above about Jonathan and Will. This is the one with the Lonnie funeral and Will’s clueless girlfriend. Jancy Byler.

Horse Girl: my nice Stoncy idea where Jancy break up temporarily in S3 and Steve kinda wants to get back together with Nancy but also wants to make friends with Jonathan finally (maybe more) but also is weirdly bummed that they broke up…can he have it all?

How Well I Remember: Jonathan/Jason, kind of, between S1 and S2. Not that weird tbh.

The Sin Eater's Prom Date: Jonathan/Chrissy, AU where he never got with Nancy in S2 and she never got with Jason and also the supernatural stuff ended much sooner, but the point is that they’re going to date and weird everyone out so much. Feat. a Cunningham family dinner where Jonathan heroically does a terrible job eating corn on the cob to get Laura off of Chrissy’s back.

Silver Threads and Golden Needles: moderately dysfunctional Stoncy, between S1 and S2, feat. a passive-aggressive cornfield handjob.

Ugly as Sin (finished): my Hellcheer one shot.
