Amy Rose “One Love”
LET’S START AT THE VERY BEGINNING. A VERY GOOD PLACE TO START. It started with a song, a very passionate little 5-year-old girl and a dream that one day the whole wide world would know her, like the world knows Dolly Parton. Country Music was my passion, and with the support of my parents, that passion turned into reality. This 5-year-old little girl spent years of hard work and dedication perfecting her craft. I have toured the world, singing everywhere and anywhere, that would allow me. At the age of 13, I scored my first record deal and went on to release my first full length album, Amy Rose “One Special Girl”, (A Gospel Album). I have always been a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Every story has a beginning, middle and an end. In life, every ending is a new beginning. After many incredible opportunities, that I will forever be grateful for, I made the decision to part ways with the label. Country Music has always been my passion and that is where my heart was. This was my new beginning. This was a way for me to explore the creative vision and follow that dream. A dream, a 5-year-old Amy Rose had, to be that country singer, just like her idol, the Amazing Dolly Parton! I team up with producers Marty Beecroft and Glenn Coulson, founding members of Canadian/ International pop group V.I.P. This leads us to write and produce my first worldwide radio release together “Party Like a Redneck”. With this song showing promise, moving up the country charts in many countries, we decided it was time to shoot a music video for the single. The music video for “Party Like a Redneck” would be picked up by CMT along with many other music video networks around the world, making some noise for this Redneck Princess. This eventually landed me a nomination and a win at the Nashville Universe Awards, Music Video of the Year for “Party Like a Redneck”. With 2 Music Row Top 100 songs, 4 NMW Top 50 songs, two of those songs going all the way to #1 under my belt, this Redneck Princess is ready to show Country Music exactly what she is made of. NOW LET’S FAST FORWARD. March 17th, 2020, schools in Ontario, Canada are shut down for two weeks to “Flatten the Curve” and that was when the world stopped turning. Schools were closed. Restaurants, bars, basically cities were shut down, including the music industry. Recording music was almost impossible. I was halfway through my project with Grammy Award winning producer, Dale Oliver, when this happened. Travelling to Nashville, TN, was now impossible. COVID-19 had taken hold. Healthcare was now the priority, and I was up to the challenge. Returning to my previous EMT position, mostly transporting COVID-19 patients. For over two years this was my priority, as well as my family. Then the break through, the light at the end of the tunnel. Restrictions are lifted, borders are opened, life is slowly returning to normal. Now it is time to get back on track. April 2022, project moves into high gear. Trips to Nashville are planned. Production is moving forward. With the wave of the magic wand, (figuratively speaking of course), the final version of “Amy Rose One Love” is born. Written by Joshua Keeler Ramsay, of Marianas Trench, this power ballad showcases all what Amy Rose has to offer. This is my labour, (labor for the American’s), of love. I hope you enjoy this song, as much as I enjoyed making it for you. Week In Review: New Songs / Music Videos You Need to Check Out (September 29-October 5, 2019)
Another week has come to an end and with it came a lot of new music. This week saw some great new songs and music videos from the likes of Dan + Shay, that dog., Chapel and more hit the internet.
Vinyl Bay 777, Long Island’s music outlet, loves new music. That’s why we’ve once again scoured the internet for the hottest new tracks released over the last seven days. Here are seven (and a few more) we think are worth checking out this weekend.
1. Chapel, “Friends”: A song about trying to find the perfect work-life balance, “Friends” attempts to warn that pushing people away too much can be detrimental to one’s own happiness. Though sad, the band doesn’t wallow in self-pity, instead opting to remain upbeat. The synth-pop tune’s steady drum beat and cheery guitars keep it rolling on, underlining its catchy melody. (video)
2. Dan + Shay feat. Justin Bieber, “10,000 Hours”: Dan + Shay released a heavily teased new song this week. “10,000 Hours,” which features pop pretty-boy Justin Bieber, is another pop-country hit with that signature Dan + Shay sweet, swoon-worthy sound on full display. Bieber’s voice assimilates well with Shay Mooney’s and doesn’t drag the song in his usual dance-influenced pop direction. For a group that loves love and regularly puts their own wives in their videos (see “Speechless”), the addition of Bieber’s new wife into the fold on the “10,000 Hours” video is very timely and sweet. (video)
3. Marianas Trench, “Don’t Miss Me?”: Lyrically, “Don’t Miss Me?” finds lead singer Josh Ramsay wondering if a former flame misses him as much as he hints that he misses her. Subject matter like that doesn’t usually translate to upbeat love song, but Marianas Trench makes it work with a very catchy and repetitive pop melody that makes you dance while still remaining sympathetic. (video)
4. that dog., “Just The Way”: The latest single from that dog.’s first new album in more than 22 years, ‘Old LP,’ “Just The Way” is an upbeat punk / alt-rock tune that’s catchy, fast and loud. The video, published by Funny Or Die and starring Jack Black and Maya Rudolph, is a twisted take on ‘Three’s Company’ where the roommates (played by the band) take their pranks too far and instead try to kill each other with disastrous and, unfortunately funny results. (video)
5. Michael Stipe, “Your Capricious Soul”: Former R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe has released his first solo song. “Your Capricious Soul” is a quiet, low-key track with a steady bass line and piano accompaniment. There’s not much flair to it, but it is a nice track to chill out to and do some good. Proceeds from the track go to climate change activist group Extinction Rebellion. (video)
6. Anti-Flag, “Christian Nationalist”: Brutally political, Anti-Flag take aim at today’s atmosphere of bigotry and hate on their latest single “Christian Nationalist.” The song is a catchy piece of melodic pop-punk with bitingly direct lyrics that easily get their point across. (video)
7. Kele Okereke, “Between Me And My Maker”: I don’t know if I’ve ever heard a song about death be so melodic and uplifting. “Between Me And My Maker” has a comforting, spiritual feel to it that makes it a pleasant listen. (video)
Further Listening / Viewing:
· Bambara, “Serafina”: (video)
· Great Grandpa, “Bloom”: (video)
· Anna Meredith, “Inhale Exhale”: (video)
· Brix And The Extricated, “Dinosaur Girl”: (video)
· Poppy, “I Disagree”: (video)
· Halsey, “Clementine”: (video)
· Foster The People, “Pick U Up”: (video)
· Craig Finn, “It’s Never Been A Fair Fight”: (video)
A lot of great new rock and pop tracks were released over the last week. With the weekend here, now is the perfect time to take a look back at some of the best. Check out some of our favorites above and let us know what tracks you’ve been digging this week in the comments below.
