While watching Sailor Moon with my daughter (we are deep into the 5th season of the 90s Italian version), I am remembering more and more why I shipped Usagi with Seiya.

I never particularly loved Mamoru, to be honest, mostly because in the anime he was kind of a inconstant dick to Usagi and, despite the whole "reincarnation/destined to be together" thing they had going on because of the connection between Silver Millenium and Golden Kingdom (which is absolutely one of my favourite trope ever), I failed to appreciate the romance they had.

I very much preferred Seiya with her, instead, because he seemed to make her happy and to make her laugh more (plus, lemme be honest, I also had a huge crush on Seiya and Haruka when I was a child, so that could also be why I was SO ON BOARD when both of them were flirting with Usagi. Like, YES GIRL, GET IT).

Like, the whole dynamic of "Two idiots that are just so good together it's a sin they are not" was everything to me.

It was fun to see them together, and dear gods, I remember wanting to see Usagi happy finally, fml.

like, fml, I wish I had enough mental spoon to spare because I would love to write about them together. And you know me: I SO RARELY ship canon characters together, so you know how huge they were for me.

And fuck it, lemme share my fave Senshi characters because I can lol (also, they are not in any particular order, I am just listing here the characters I love the most).

1)SAILOR MARS. Mandatory, since Mars oversee my astrological sign. (It's pretty much the same situation with Saint Seiya and the arc of the 12 Houses. Doesn't matter if your favourite was Ikki, Hyouga or Seiya: when you get to the 12 Houses, it's MANDATORY to cheer for your Saints of your astrological sign). Also she is spunky as hell and pretty much like yours truly, she got one rough relationship with daddy dearest, so DUH, I ADORE HER. lol

2) THE OUTER SENSHIS. All together. What therefore Naoko Takeuchi hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (but seriously. They are my most favourite, I cannot just choose one. Hotaru is my beloved, so is Setsuna, and of course Haruka and Michiru who are my OTP).

3) SEIYA KOU/SAILOR STAR FIGHTER. My precious bebe. my darling goofball. The cinnamonroll of it all. Adorable. (Plus, the Starlights uniform was DOPE as hell) *holds so gently*.PRECIOUS BEBE. PRECIOUS.

4)BLACK LADY Chibiusa is definitely NOT character that I loved, as a child, and I never appreciated how she was characterized tbh (especially not with all the weird shit with Mamoru, please, dear gods no). But Black Lady, being all evil, with her swag and the character design was EVERYTHING to me. She was such a bitch, but I adored her.

5) QUEEN NEHELLENIA, DEAR GODS, QUEEN NEHELLENIA MY BELOVED. I ADORE HER. SHE IS MY EVERYTHING. (to the point that I paired her up with my own Sailor Artemis and their story was so sad fml I cannot. I just cannot. Imma find my old artworks and share them here lolol. Now i need).

6)HUMAN!LUNA. There was just *something* about her design that made me so happy. Like, I am generally not a big fun of yellow as a colour, but omg Human!Luna was BEAUTIFUL. Her design was seared in my mind for YEARS afterwards.

7) and of course. NEO QUEEN SERENITY HERSELF. Like, forget about Disney Princesses and whatnot. forget about them all. For me, Serenity was THE Princess (first) and then THE Queen. And I am not going to lie how much I coveted her dress. Like, seriously, to me, it's one of the most beautiful design ever created. PLUS, USAGI IS MY SILLY IDIOT CINNAMON ROLL, AND I WILL DEFEND HER FOREVER.
