You know it won’t end well. But when Angela and Nolan bet you $100 each that you wouldn’t do it, what were you supposed to do? Say no? Besides, if it works (and you’re terrified it will), you and Tim will have over $1,000 to split. You just have to break his heart first.
When Tim gets out of bed before the sun comes up, you’re already awake. It seems like forever as you lay in bed and wait for him to leave. But, while you’re alone in the house and preparing to pull off the biggest April Fool’s Day prank of your life, you miss him. Angela’s genius idea to prank Tim by pretending to leave him was never a good idea but as the betting pool grew in the Mid-Wilshire station, you let the money convince you. Your heart and Tim’s are on the line, and you can only hope he knows you well enough by now to see what you’re doing and play along.
Once all your belongings are hidden in the spare closet and every trace of you is gone from Tim’s house, you leave a note on Tim’s nightstand and leave. You intend on returning, as long as Tim will let you by the end of the day. It was Nolan and Lucy’s idea to send you to Lucy’s apartment at the end of shift, the proverbial “cherry on top” to convince Tim that your relationship is truly over. As you walk to your car, anxiety builds in you, and you consider backing out. It would cost money but save your sanity and your relationship. So, you only have one question: What would Tim do? The answer comes to you immediately: lie to the bet makers and win even if you lose. Now, you just have to figure out how.
Entering roll call is everything you expected it would be. There are countless eyes on you, and your lack of greeting is what Nolan needs to know you’re going through with it.
“Honestly, I didn’t think you’d do it,” he whispers from behind you. “No offense.”
“That is the least offensive thing you’ve ever said to me,” you answer quickly. “But just remember that you have to ride with me tomorrow, and anything that happens to me today is your fault.”
Nolan’s eyes widen before you turn in your seat. Breaking Tim’s heart will hurt, but yours is already fractured just from the idea. When Grey enters and gives assignments for the day, you hope that work will distract you for as long as possible. If Tim doesn’t find out until he gets off, you only have to lie to him and avoid him for a few hours before the day ends.
Wade says your name and the smile on his face concerns you. You take a deep breath before asking, “Yes, sir?”
“Bradford needs someone to ride with him today. Now, you can say no.”
You open your mouth to say no, but he raises a hand to stop you.
“Or,” Wade continues. “We can double the current pool if you say yes.”
“Double?” you repeat incredulously. “That’s-“
“Over three thousand dollars. At the moment.”
You stare at the board behind Wade before nodding. “Okay.”
The room erupts into cheers and yells, but you drop your head into your hands and ask yourself why you’re selling your heart for a few thousand dollars.
“Bradford’s waiting,” Wade says as the room silences again.
“I hate all of you,” you mumble as you exit.
“Yet you seem interested in our money!” Lucy calls behind you. “See you at home later!”
Tim is waiting by the war room, and he smiles when he sees you. You don’t return the smile, not because you’re mad at him, but because you’re worried about everything.
“Are you okay?” he asks as you approach him.
You nod, but Tim doesn’t move. “Can we go?” you ask.
Tim’s smile drops as he nods. You lead the way to the shop, and Tim’s eyes are on you the entire way. Once you’re in the car and all the cameras are on, you hope he’ll stop talking and leave everything alone, but you also know that won’t happen.
“Why are you out on patrol?” you ask.
“Looking for leads on a gun trafficking case. We’ve got a few buyers who either don’t know or won’t tell who’s running the operation,” Tim answers.
You hum and look out the windshield. The computer on the dashboard has a few possible suspects, and you keep an eye open for them. Los Angeles is big, so finding three low-level gun sellers (alleged gun sellers) won’t be particularly easy. The long day alone with Tim would be a reward any other day, but not today.
Lucy’s voice comes through the radio as she says your name. You reach for the channel to change it, but Tim’s brows furrow, and you stop.
“Are you sure about this?” Lucy asks. “I mean, of course, you’re welcome to stay with me, but maybe you should just talk to Tim.”
“About what?” Tim asks you.
“Nothing,” you answer quickly. It comes out short and harsh, and you decide to take your anger out on Lucy. “No personal lives on the radio, Chen,” you demand.
“I agree,” Wade adds. “But no one wants to see either of you hurt. You’re with Bradford all day, just talk to him.”
“I don’t have to because he can hear you,” you snap before switching the channel.
Tim drives a few blocks in silence. He glances over at you every time he has to stop.
“Are you going to ignore me all day?” Tim asks. “Because I can go back to the station and get someone else to come with me.”
“Your choice,” you reply.
“Okay,” Tim says. His hands grip the steering wheel tighter. “Are you staying with Lucy tonight?”
“I’m not talking about this right now, Sergeant Bradford. You are my superior and this doesn't seem appropriate,” you say.
Tim knows something is wrong; you won’t look at him, and your answers aren’t really answers. He pulls into an alley and switches off his body cam and the dash cam.
“Dispatch this is Bradford, switching radio off to approach the suspect. Will advise,” he radios.
“Copy, Bradford.”
Tim gestures toward your body cam, and you ask, “Why?”
He rolls his eyes and reaches across the console to pull the cam away from your chest. His hands are gentle on you, but he tosses the camera haphazardly onto the dash after switching it off.
“No cameras, no radios,” Tim says. “Now what is your problem?”
“Yeah, because I’m the one with a problem,” you reply, crossing your arms over your chest. “We’re supposed to be working, Tim. Drive.”
“Not until you tell me why you’re snapping at everyone. Being grumpy is kind of my thing.”
“Clearly,” you say with a chuckle.
“If you’re mad at me, just say it.”
“This is not the place or the time.”
“So, I’m just supposed to deal with this attitude all day?”
“I deal with yours.”
Tim rolls his eyes and leans back in his seat.
“I’m not staying with Lucy tonight. I’m staying with her until I can find my own place, so you don’t have to deal with my attitude for much longer.”
Tim’s jaw unclenches as he looks at you. You’re looking down at your lap, but you can feel his eyes on you.
“What does that mean?” Tim asks quietly. His anger is gone; it disappeared when you said you weren’t going home with him... to him.
“I can’t keep doing this, Tim.” I can’t keep lying to you, is what you mean.
“Then don’t.” You shake your head, and Tim presses, “Don’t do this. Whatever happened, we can work through it, right?”
“Not right now.”
Tim falls silent and tears his eyes away from you. He can’t decide whether to be upset or angry, but he turns all of the cameras back on and shifts the car into reverse to back out of the alley. You snatch your body cam from the dash and put it back on, but you miss the feeling of Tim’s hands.
“If not now, when?” Tim asks as he stops at a red light.
“I don’t know,” you whisper. “Report.”
Tim glances over at you quickly, and when you move your fingers toward the radio, he realizes you’re talking to him as a cop, not as someone who loves him.
“Dispatch, I’m code 4,” he says quickly.
As you continue driving around Los Angeles, the minutes stretch into hours. Tim has stopped talking to you, and the radio has been quiet. Your fingers bounce against your thigh in rapid succession, and if something doesn’t happen soon, you may burst into tears and tell Tim everything.
“Bradford,” Angela radios, “switch to a private channel.”
He does, but when he pulls the radio to him, his movements make you flinch. “What?” he asks, his grumpiness returned in full.
“Are you alone?”
“No.”
“Okay, good.”
You hold your breath as you wait to hear what Angela will say next.
“We got a hit on one of your perps. Was seen near a cigar store somewhere off La Brea.”
“That’s not helpful, Lopez,” Tim snaps. “Anything else you can give me?”
“The Debonair Cigar Lounge,” you inform. “It’s on La Brea and there’s tons of reports of illegal back door sales. Nothing we’ve ever been able to prove.”
Tim nods and drops the radio.
“You seem in high spirits,” Lopez adds. “Your captain is waiting for your report.”
“10-4,” you radio.
✯✯✯✯✯
After a waste of time at the cigar lounge, you and Tim follow several more tips. The sun is going down and Tim’s shift is nearly over by the time you catch one that seems helpful.
“Don’t you need to get back to the station?” you ask. “We don’t have time to track this and for you to report to your captain.”
Tim ignores you and pulls into another alley. Why does LA have so many dirty alleys? And why are they Tim’s preferred argument location?
“You said it earlier, I’m your superior. If you’re not going to answer my questions, I’m not going to accept your advice,” Tim explains.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” you argue. “Me not wanting to talk about our relationship issues in the shop is not the same as reminding you that you have other duties.”
“Oh, now they’re relationship issues. That sounds like talking about them.”
You tip your head back against the seat and sigh. Something moves in the alley, and you lean forward to watch for it.
“Just tell me what is bothering you!” Tim says. You don’t answer, too interested in what is or isn’t moving in the shadows, but Tim takes it as you voluntarily ignoring him. “Fine, you don’t want to talk? I can wait.”
“Bradford, drive,” you say quickly.
“No.”
“Tim!” you yell.
The worry in your voice causes Tim to look forward, and the man you’ve spent the day looking for is standing in the middle of the alley and pointing a gun at you.
“Get down,” Tim demands.
You lean toward him over the console as he jerks the gear shift down. Before he can move, the man starts shooting. Tim leans over you as he backs out of the alley. While he gets you to safety, you radio for backup. The car slides to a graceless stop as a bullet takes out the front tire on your side.
“I’m going to Lucy’s because I can’t stay with you tonight,” you admit.
Your voice is raised over the continued gunfire, but Tim’s face is pressed beside yours as he drapes his body over you. His protectiveness is one of many things that you love about him, and as you prepare to tell him the truth, you’re more grateful for it than ever.
“You’re leaving me?” Tim asks.
“Tim, what day is it?” you ask.
A bullet breaks your window, and Tim pulls himself tighter against you as he raises his gun toward the opening. The man is nearing you, and Tim waits for him to get close enough before rising up so he’s visible.
“April Fools,” Tim answers as he fires a single shot.
He leaves you alone in the shop as he runs to the downed gunman. The bullet hit his leg, far from fatal, and Tim cuffs him before putting pressure on the wound.
“I can’t believe you just broke up with me while we were being shot at,” Tim yells angrily.
He winks at you quickly, a nearly invisible movement. His jaw remains clenched, though, and you can’t tell if he’s mad at you or the man who tried to kill you.
“Bradford!” Angela yells as she exits her car. “What happened?”
Tim pushes the man toward another Metro officer and turns away from you.
“Plenty,” he answers before walking away. “Give her a ride.”
You lick your lips as you watch Tim leave with Metro.
“You told him?” Angela asks. “How did that go?”
“He seems mad,” you answer.
“This may be better than expected. I’m taking you to Lucy’s.”
“But I need to-“
“Grey knows,” Angela interrupts. “Let’s go.”
✯✯✯✯✯
“Just sit down,” Lucy pleads. “Tim cares and he’ll talk to you eventually.”
“I told Tim that I was leaving him when all I wanted to do was tell him I love him,” you point out. “I’m not going to sit down.”
Lucy sighs and turns away. She had enjoyed the idea before this moment, but now that you and Tim are both understandably miserable, it isn’t as much fun.
“Incoming,” Tamara whispers dramatically as she opens the door.
“Where’s your stuff?” Tim demands as he steps inside.
“Not with me,” you answer honestly.
“Then let’s go.”
“Where?”
Tim fixes his eyes on yours. There’s a storm in them, and it’s a dangerous one. You decide not to fight him and instead walk toward him.
“Hey, you can talk here,” Lucy offers.
Tim doesn’t reply as he closes the door behind him. You walk wordlessly beside him as he takes you to his truck. Once you’re inside, he runs his fingers through his short hair before hitting his open palm against the steering wheel.
“I know you pointed out that it’s April Fool’s Day,” he begins. “But when I get home and all of your stuff is gone, it’s a little hard to believe it’s a joke.”
You glance at the clock and see that there’s still a little over an hour left until midnight. If you want the money, you can’t do anything until then.
“I put it somewhere,” you say quietly. “Until I knew for sure what I was going to do.”
“Are you going to give me a real answer?”
You look at the clock again, but this time Tim follows your movement. He sits back in his seat and turns on the radio.
“I’ll wait,” he offers.
“Why?” you ask. “After everything I did this morning?”
“Lots of words for it: love, stupidity, obsession. Take your pick.”
“April Fool’s Day was more fun last year,” you mutter.
Tim smiles as he remembers; you had tried to convince everyone in Mid-Wilshire that you and Tim hated one another and that any memory that had otherwise was a figment of their imagination. When you got home that night, Tim kept up the act until you threatened to take Kojo in the divorce, and then you got the attention you’d been missing all day.
As the clock inches closer to midnight, you lean back as well and simply sit beside Tim. Your phone rings and you sigh when you see Angela’s name.
“Hello?” you answer.
“Where are you?” she asks.
“Outside Lucy’s apartment.”
“Is Tim still with you?”
“Why would Tim be with me?”
Tim shakes his head beside you, and you remember when he told you about the bet with Lucy when she tried to set him up and failed. You met the next day and then Tim won the bet, he had said.
“Are you planning to call him at midnight?” she asks.
“Yes! I have been lying to him all day, Angela, of course I’m going to call and tell him.”
Angela sighs, but it sounds funny.
“What?”
“He blew up on his Metro team. There’s a chance he may not be able to forgive you, or… won’t want to.”
You glance over at Tim, and he cocks his head at your furrowed brows.
“So, he’s really mad,” you repeat softly. “And my apologies won’t be good enough.”
“I don’t know that for sure!” Angela soothes.
What actually works to make you feel better is Tim’s hand taking yours. The clock changes, and you hang up. 12:00 am, April 2.
“I’m so sorry,” you whisper.
The fear you’ve been pushing down all day appears as tears, and Tim cups your face to wipe them away.
“My stuff is in the guest room, but if you don’t want me to come back-“
Tim cuts you off with a kiss. He pulls you toward him as he leans over the console, but it’s uncomfortable, and he breaks the kiss quickly.
“Please tell me you won something for your success,” Tim says.
You smile and answer, “Nearly three and a half thousand dollars.”
Tim’s jaw drops as his hands drop to your shoulders.
“I was thinking we’d go see a Dodgers game, sit behind home plate. Or you can have it all since I did ruin your day.”
“Watching you get shot at ruined my day,” Tim corrects. “But as long as you go home with me, no harm, no foul.”
“I really am sorry. I do love you, and I’d never leave you like that.”
“I know,” Tim answers smugly. “I stopped by the house after you left, and Kojo led me straight to your stuff.
“You knew the whole time?!” you exclaim.
“I had an idea. Asked Grey to let me spend the day with you to see if I was right.”
“I felt terrible-“
“And you should have! Kojo and I will need lots of hugs and kisses to make up for the emotional distraught you put us through.”
You roll your eyes, and once you’re sandwiched between Tim and Kojo, they don’t seem to accept your apologies unless they’re punctuated with some type of physical affection. Tim also takes the opportunity to yell at everyone involved in the bet when he gets to work the following morning, but the promise of another night and a Dodgers game with you makes it worth it.

For anyone who likes a good alien romance with plot and smut👌👌 I
happily give some recommendations .
There's one which give me Miles Quaritch x reader/oc vibes 😏
Obviously if you love big blue aliens (Na'vi)
You gotta check out Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon
You can also go on the tag #iceplanetbarbarians and you'll find memes and art. It's a big fandom for this series.
There's a spinofff series of this called CORSAIR Brothers
And the first book ADIRON
Has a hilarious hero who's goofy and a himbo. Personal favourite 👌
Next if you want aliens who are very Na'vi like in culture but also don't hesitate to use technology then this one is for you
The Ash Planet Warriors
It's a spin off of the series Garrison Earth.
There are three races here the Vetusian, Jal'zar i.e The Ash Planet Warriors and Humans. The humans and Jal'zar are invaded by the Vetusians.
My favourite book in the spin off is this
Enemies to loves, political marriage. Here's a summary
I won’t touch her. But I will torment her soul. While the other warlords mate with the daughters of our enemy, I want nothing to do with these political marriages. Fate calls me north, searching for what the shamans say will complete my soul.
Now in the Garrison Earth series the last book is very interesting.
It's the Miles Quaritch x reader/oc fanfics but in a book 👇👀👀
Claimed
I conquered her planet and pillaged her body. Now I’m back for her heart.
A decade ago, I brought war to Solgad, home of the Jal’zar. I sacked the planet and slaughtered the people, all to save my race from extinction. Until one of their female warriors hissed defiance, promising me death at her hands no matter how her body longed for mine.
Each night, she came to end me, only to succumb to the raw urges of her mating heat. Each night, I gave her hungry womb what it needed, the way we coupled neither safe nor sane.
I was the enemy she couldn’t kill. She was the female I couldn’t have.
Together, we unleashed chaos.
Many solar cycles after the occupation, I return to Solgad, searching the ashen plains for her: my soulmate. This time, I will claim the Jal’zar female as mine, and nobody will get in the way.
Not even myself.
If you can, do read the entire series first if you want to know a little back story of the male character.
Now on to a villian from a different series
Zorus from Redeeming Zorus by Laurann Dohner.
Here's an enthusiastic comment about the character
Zorus, You Evil Bigot, M*ther F@cking, Sadistic Bastard!!! I have HATED You for SOOO LONG. Now I have to read your Love Story!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Anyway here's what's he's all about: Zorus is a member of the Ruling Council that governs cyborgs. His orders are law and must be obeyed. But Zorus is a sick bastard. He hates humans with a passion, and has been an evil terror to all cyborg males that have attempted to take a human female as a mate. He has gone as far as ordering them to be killed under the pretense that they were Earth Government spies searching for cyborgs.
But in a way his intense hate is justified. It's like if a Na'vi wanted to kill all the humans and Avatars (even the good ones), and all the hybrid children, because of what the RDA has done in Pandora.
Obviously this book is part of a series.
I'm sorry this spiralled into Alien villains but here's the last one
The Fractured Mate
Comments on the book:
Halian was so damned evil in previous books, I couldn't possibly imagine how he could be redeemable. But DAMN if our author didn't come up with the absolute most genius, creative, plot twist of an explanation!
Again part of a series of many interesting alien characters. Best to read those so you get an idea of how bad Halian is.
Now three other good alien books (not a villain main character)
Heart's Prisoner by Olivia Riley
He's not like anything Lana has ever encountered.
Asset X: Massive, deadly, a little terrifying to say the least. A devilish warrior. And a killer. Captured on a hellish world after attacking a military campsite and now imprisoned in a state-of-the-art cell inside one of the military’s top bases--Lazris.
And Lana has been assigned to "study" him. To learn his secrets and gain his trust, if he is ever allowed to set foot out of his cell. As a top behaviorist, it is the biggest hurdle of her career.
Very alien looking hero and mostly from the FMC point of view so there's a whole lot of mystery around him and what he's thinking. When we talking alien this dude is very alien. Also, it's a slow burn. Definitely no attraction at first sight. Actually we're all terrified 😂
Next is Classified Planet: Turongal of The Darvel Exploratory Systems
Cottonwood by R.Lee. Smith
Have you seen District 9? If you haven't please do..one of the best Sci fi alien movies out there. Anyway this book has the same kind of aliens. And a sort of similar plot. It feels like a fanfiction if that movie but it's different from the book too. All the characters are well written and brilliant plot. If 'Hearts Prisoner ' hero is a 7 on the "how alien does he look?" scale, the aliens in this book are a 9.
Argurma Salvager #1 Broken Earth
☝️ Hero's features inspired by the Predator in Alien vs Predator movies.
Saving Askara #1 Saving Askara
This has :
First contact
Slow burn (almost all the books i mentioned are slow burn)
Learning the cultures (Ash Planet also is about learning a different culture.)
Anyway these are some of my favorites and the best sci-fi alien romance i love till date ❤️ obviously there'are many more that I've probably forgotten 😅

AA 4-1, Turnabout Trump, is the best opening case in the history of Ace Attorney. Bar none.
(To be fair, 1-1 and 2-1 fucking spoil the killer for you in their opening cinematic because they think new players are stupid and 5-1... 5-1 makes me shake with homicidal fury at the shit it pulled. So the competition isn't very steep.)
4-1 had the unenviable task of breaking the audience in to a brand new status quo. Seven years after the events of the original trilogy, we have to introduce our new protagonist Apollo Justice. The easy way to do this would be to have Apollo sign up to work for Phoenix and then have Phoenix mentor him.
Screw you, let's get fucking crazy, PHOENIX IS A HOBO and his law career is DEAD. Oh, and he's not the mentor. He's the defendant. Buuuuut he's also still the mentor because he's smooth now.
Incredibly bold of them to go this route. They had to have known that players weren't going to like this. Phoenix's law career ended in disgrace five minutes after Trials and Tribulations ended!? He's been fucking disbarred for seven years!? WHAT!?
What do you mean he has a daughter!? What!?
And she's a precious cinnamon roll!? What!?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE'S OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE IT'S ONLY BEEN SEVEN YEARS YOU ARE FUCKING WITH ME NOW FOR FUN
This case took a sledgehammer to the Ace Attorney status quo. This was a huge gamble. People don't like it when you tell them that their favorite characters promptly got kicked in the nuts after the credits rolled last time. They like the idea that everything worked out and it was great. And they riot if you tell them otherwise.
Did it pay off? Uh.
In terms of reception? No. Everybody hates this game. It offended the AA fandom on a deep and visceral level.
But me, I love it. I think this kickstarted an interesting shift in the core identity of Ace Attorney. And the biggest mistake they made was going back on it.
And it starts here with this magnificent bastardry of a scheme.
Phoenix does fill in the mentorship role for Apollo in our Tutorial to Ace Attorney case, but it's... twisted. Because Apollo is apprenticing under a professional attorney and close personal friend of Phoenix's, Kristoph Gavin - But Phoenix has made the curious decision to request Apollo's representation over Kristoph's.
That's not to say that Apollo's doing this entirely alone, as Gavin pitches in to lend his struggling protege some mentorship on the job.
But that's the trick. Phoenix has, throughout his career, successfully identified murderers among various witnesses, two prosecutors, and two investigating cops. But this unique setup allows him to do battle with a defense attorney. His own defense attorney, at that.
(He hasn't had to pin down a judge yet but HO-HO he will get to that in two games' time!)
There's shades of 2-4 buried in 4-1. So much so that they even cite the main theme of Justice For All while they're at it.
Literally what Justice For All is about. Dare I say... Apollo Justice for All?
2-4 fractured the relationship of trust that exists between attorney and client, that the trilogy is built upon. So much of the series is about believing in your client and giving your all to their defense, and 2-4 took a crowbar to that case by asking, "What if the client is untrustworthy?"
4-1 sets the stage for the new status quo by introducing the opposite question: What if the attorney is untrustworthy?
This isn't the kind of question that an AA game asks. It's... unsettling, given the franchise's romanticized view of defense law. The notion leaves an ominous discontentment that can be difficult to place, and sets the stage for what will become known as the Dark Age of the Law.
And yet, this is the kind of over-the-top legal nonsense that can only emerge from the realm of Ace Attorney storytelling, which does not give a fuck. A murder has been committed with Phoenix in the crossfire, and he has successfully created a scenario where the killer is not only in the courtroom, but is defending him in court.
Well. His protege is, anyway. Phoenix was very careful not to allow his representation to fall directly into Kristoph's hands, after all. Instead, he takes Apollo under his own wing instead.
What gets me about Phoenix and Kristoph's relationship is that Kristoph is genuine about wanting to help Phoenix.
We've seen plenty of murderer frame-ups throughout the series, and even one case of a murderer entering the courtroom as a defense attorney to ensure their fall-gal gets convicted.
Kristoph isn't planning that. Rather, he has a different target in mind that he can pin this murder to. His relationship with Phoenix is much too professionally valuable to let Phoenix go down like this.
As with 2-4, we have a perfectly adequate suspect to accuse in the defendant's place. A reasonable case could be made for Olga Orly's complicity instead of Phoenix's. Phoenix could go free by letting the wrong person be convicted.
But he's going to shoot the moon instead.
And he's going to do it, he's going to defeat the untrustworthy attorney, by putting his faith in a trustworthy attorney instead. The same way he defeated an untrustworthy client years ago.
4-1 has met with some criticism for the way so much of this comes down to Phoenix vs. Kristoph, with Apollo relying so heavily on following Phoenix's breadcrumbs. But for me, that works fine. Phoenix can light the course but it still falls to Apollo to navigate it, and that works for me as Apollo's very first case in his career.
After all, Mia leaned on Diego plenty in her first case. And Phoenix leaned on Mia a lot throughout the entire original trilogy. This case serves as Apollo's introduction to the Wright method and its unconventional approach, as Phoenix makes sure that special attention is paid to the kind of small details that unraveled prosecutions in his own time.
Ultimately, Apollo is as much a part of this as Phoenix is. None of this would work without him. We see him torn between his mentor and his hero as Kristoph realizes what Phoenix intends, and the jaws of the trap begin to close around him.
But ultimately, Kristoph's presence in this room leaves him cornered like a rat in a cage. Phoenix already saw to that.
Thus, one mentorship is fractured beyond repair while another is forged in iron. Phoenix even finds a moment to squeeze in foreshadowing for the final confrontation in 4-4.
This is such a fantastic introduction to the new status quo of post-timeskip Ace Attorney. It hints at the darkness inherent to the new world of law following Phoenix's disbarment, while also building the relationship between our next-generation hero and his predecessor, and serving it up alongside the maddest gambit ever to hit the courtroom of Ace Attorney.
And Also Payne is nearby but who gives a shit. XD
The prosecutor is less relevant in this case than any other in AA history. He just stands there uselessly at his booth and watches Phoenix's masterpiece unfold.
That this helpless performance is Winston's swan song, to be replaced by Gaspen in future games, is just the icing on the cake. So long, Winston. You won't be missed.

on a whim i looked up the Templin Institute (a worldbuilding-focused youtube channel I dropped because I was horrified at a video they made where they claimed that the Men of Tolkien's Legendarium aren't REALLY human because they're not vicious enough, cruel enough, or obsessed with war) and I was miffed to see that apparently since I dropped them they made a video arguing that everyone in the MCU should be living in constant fear and that it would be better to live in the universe of The Boys (because the super serum is qunaitifable) and Warhammer 40k (since in that one, everyone is a zealot who believes that the God-Emperor protects them and thinks that all aliens are inherently evil)
and it sort of illustrates a thing that... I don't think sci fi fandom or writing IN GENERAL is like, but it is enough of a common element to bother me, and its when people treat cruelty, systemic brutality or man's capacity for evil as an inherently positive aspect.
This ties into the video that caused me to drop them; the channel made the claim that the Rohirrim would have been doing better if they had been genocidal and brutally attacked anything different enough from them (in the sense of "maybe if they had killed all orcs on sight for being nonhuman, Rohan would be doing better"). and its like... why?
I honestly can't fathom why anyone would consider that a good thing, or even think that it SHOULD be expected to hate and fear anything different from you, and to got to the extreme that NOT being xenophobic by default is some kind of failing, or imply that not wanting to kill all other forms of life makes you different from humans, or that being more bloodthirsty or willing to hurt others is an advantage.
What, I can't help but wonder, is the appeal in lionizing the worst parts of ourselves?
You see a lot of this in sci fi, and i think its because a lot of those look at the factions involved as characters in their own right, so they don't really feel much when stuff like 'by performign x social policy, the Human Dominion allowed 42 percent of its people to starve to death on purpose' is considered a fairly neutral detail.
Mindless fanaticism is often prized in these settings, to the point where the most common fandom memes is numbing stuff like 'FOR THE EMPEROR' and 'PURGE THE XENOS'. quite literally stuff all about turning your brain off and being happy about being a murderous garbage-animal that acts like a walking personification of the 'maybe the people who say all humans are inherently evil animals and that it will be a blessing when we all die and no longer poison the universe with our cancerous capacity for evil' idea.
i find it really, REALLY fucking creepy when this stuff gets popular, and more to the point, when the idea of 'humans are naturally warriors/soldiers' becomes so prevalent that you have people hating the idea of some universe where we don't automatically try to kill things for not being like us. its just exhausting, and tedious and...
I don't know, but it doesn't really sound right with archaelogical evidence for us.
I'm thinking about how ancient graves from our own ancestors and our neanderthal cousins both have many signs of caring for the ill, the elderly and infirm. the remains of children with severe Down's syndrome who survived until at least five years old, well cared for by others. Lots and lots of bodies with healed fractures and broken legs, which means someone took care of them; a running animal, and a hunter, with a broken leg is a dead animal. A healed leg is someone who was taken care of.
I think about how on the island of Cyprus, they found an truly ancient burial. In it, they found the body of a long-dead human, and beside them, the body of a cat, laid to rest with ceremony and by all signs, love.
The burial is around 9,500 years old; almost ten thousand years ago.
This predates the first confirmed use of writing by at least 3000 years or so. 3000 years before the epic of gilgamesh became one of our first stories (a story, I note, about a king who grieves the death of a friend and desperately tries to find the secret to immortality, and in time makes peace with the inevitability of death, and becoming a story we still know today).
War goes back a long way; there's no mistake about that. But I think about how friendships and love for animals that loved us too, and long-dead people still showing the signs that people cared enough about them to keep them alive as long as possible, is probably much more integral to the concept of being human, or perhaps what it means to be a thinking entity at all, more than our capacity to hurt each other.

Lmao, for sure. I mean, "he became a deeply protective and caring creature" or whatever they said in Roast of the Monkie Kids, and I sat there like....you mean. you mean the guy Tripitaka often agreed with, *insert some allegorical thing for persuasions of the heart, and that post on their similar nature* the one who get getting Wukong in trouble and stole fights at the end? Mmm, yeah he would push you off a cliff. But bc he's different here, we're contractually obliged (not personally, but when discussing objectively in fandom) to acknowledge those differences. I dislike JTTW Tripitaka, but I understand he's a different dude here. Also woah, didn't know that was something Tripitaka got hate for??? Most Wukong fans I hang around tend to like him. But 100% its genuinely funny Macaque gets the "bUT in jtTW" treatment bc in any other fandom it would never happen. But maybe its exactly because he clicks all the boxes of the fandom's villain fav that there's this push and pull to balance what someone thinks is a "lack of criticism" so they turn to the book and say "well if this was the BOOK he wouldn't be as popular" that is, of course, besides the people who genuinely have their lore all mixed up and with full confidence throw out incorrect facts. Also ughh, Macaque and the monkeys is one of my favorite running gags in this show and I really hope you're right because that means he maaaaay have been there during the Burning of Flower Fruit Mountain, if they keep that in since Erlang Shen is in the show. And it's right after the LBD incident. And yes, it's quite possible. To add on to your points, Wukong says "its time to give back what you stole" in s1 ep 9 and this show loves its parallels. Macaque's eye twitches then, and I wouldn't be surprised if he said that in their 2nd fight as he also stole their supplies. Oooh that IS interesting, I thought the fire sealing happened after the journey. I know a few people theorized that this was an AU where the circlet got taken off sooner, makes you wonder why? Honestly yeah, if they actually grew to get along then makes a whole lotta sense why Wukong would be upset. There's a thousand layers of tragic, because Imma be honest. I really struggle to see Macaque as being possessive or jealous. He'd going to need a serious trigger to do that, and it would have to be either serious resentment over Wukong not being there (FFM burning) or "Because normally you just RUSH to my rescue." being internalized and acted upon when "Monkey! No violence!" happens. The 1st fight def haunts him as it haunts Wukong bc we see him say "I need to stop dragging you into my mess" post s3. "But no! Wukong doesn't listen to anyone, doing whatever he wants and dragging everybody into his mess." Their fight drives me insane bc for the life of me, I can't imagine what motivates Wukong to throw shade like "always had a sidekick kind of vibe." and "on brand for you to have a worse version of everyone else's powers" and "that's a relief. I thought it was somebody important." or why Macaque wanted to kill him so bad "its going to be soo satisfying killing you with your own powers" why always the power reference? because all this over the MONK??? Nah. What caused them to spit hypothetical vitriol in mystery fight 2 so bad their relationship fractured into this. "It's great to see ya, bud!" being mocked again that time implies their 2nd fight had a heavy connection in bringing up the 1st as well if Mac is literally resurrected bothered over it instead of fight number two. "Looks like our own friend, the Lady Bone Demon" (s3 ep 1??) is ALSO weird af phrasing, because it sounds like Macaque was there during the LBD fight when we know he wasn't..........right? with the close timeline of events and her involvement in Mac's revival + the Diyu also freeing Azure + both of them initially hating Wukong, makes you wonder if its orchestrated to get back at him, like literally every villain thus far. Maybe for erasing his name from the book of life and death?
Especially with the trailer out.
I have a feeling the 10 kings are covering up their crime of releasing Azure and blaming it at Wukong.
Which despite it not at all being his fault, there’s too much evidence against him that unfortunately frames him as the one who released Azure or something…especially since all 10 kings are in a position of power.
Maybe this Season is more on trying to prove Wukong is innocent or something?

Will/Hannibal, “things you said when you were drunk”
Hi anon! Thank you for the ask. It was fun to write Hannigram again. I will always love our fandom!
I had fun with this. I hope it's close to what you asked for.
Warnings: NSFW, mild dirty talk, mutual masturbation, alcohol.
Based on a prompt from this list (I'm still taking requests!)
It was 10:38 according to the clock in his office. The night outside the window was a velvet shroud, save for a few pinpricks of swirling snow.
He hated Will had to drive in that.
In a perfect world, where teacups always came together, Will would never leave. Or better, he would leave with Hannibal. They would return to his home, Will’s little hovel in Wolf Trap forgotten. In this fantasy the dogs were there too, somehow, in Hannibal’s home waiting for them to return.
Hannibal walked to the liquor cabinet and poured himself two fingers of whiskey. He’d shared two with Will, not an hour before, but the pleasant warmth of the alcohol had all but worn off.
He settled in front of the fire with his glass and the bottle.
Will was becoming a preoccupation, having moved up from distraction ages ago. He had been a distraction in Jack’s office, with his unruly curls, the dog hair covering his clothes, and his darting, timid gaze. Hannibal had wanted him then. He was starving for him now.
He had drank his tumbler and poured another two fingers. He had nowhere to be tonight, in particular. His house was dark and empty, just like his bed.
Hannibal stared into the fire. The session they’d had tonight had been revealing. Will had talked about his parents, and most importantly, the mythical mother figure that had been so absent in his life but so present in his thoughts. She’d left Will at a tender age, mind fractured by the responsibilities of parenthood. A short psychiatric stay turned long term, her dissent into madness making her surly, dark-haired little boy skittish of psychology and terrified of his own peculiar mind.
How Hannibal would love to soothe those hurts.
He drank. He pondered. His body grew warm, and not from just the fire. He held his phone in his hand, tested the weight of it. The compulsion to reach out to will floated to the surface of his subconscious, but he tamped it down. It would be foolish to show his hand, with him so vulnerable. The bottle of whiskey was half gone. He wondered when that had happened.
Hannibal opened his message and clicked Will’s name. The message box looked so inviting…a blank canvas for his thoughts. Blearily, he thought of a reason to text him.
Ah, to check on his safety. Of course. It was snowing and Will had just had an emotionally strenuous appointment.
I trust you made it home safely.
It was innocuous. Kind. Friendly. Safe. He stared at the message until he began to see double.
I would drive you, if you ever have need. All you have to do is ask.
Fuck, he thought. A double text. If Hannibal hadn’t been so needy, so utterly lonely and smitten over Will, he would’ve never sunk so low. The alcohol, also, had loosened his inhibitions.
His thumb hovered over the call button and fuck all, he pressed it.
Will answered on the third ring.
“Hello.”
Hannibal smiled. His barely-there drawl floated settled warm in his belly. Hannibal felt his cheeks heat. How he would love to hear that same drawl whisper his name, or call out to a deity he didn’t have any faith in in the throws of ecstasy. How Hannibal would love to punch those little sounds out of him, to pour honeyed words over his skin.
“H-hannibal?”
Hannibal realized he hadn’t spoken in several moments, lost in his revelry.
“Will. I…I’m sorry for calling so late. I just…well I guess I was thinking of you.”
God, he was drunk, and this was a bad idea. He’d said too much already.
Will swallowed, his face taking on a tinge of pink. “Oh,” he said. “Thank you, I guess.”
Hannibal took another drink; the whiskey had quit burning quite a while ago. Now there was only a pleasant warmth. A swirl of heat I his belly.
It was part alcohol and part something else.
Hannibal laughed, leaning back in his chair, his legs parted. He let his palm rest on the inside of his thigh, feeling the soft fabric of his fine trousers.
“I’m sorry you had to drive home in such weather. Are you home yet, Will?”
Will grunted, and only then could Hannibal hear the scrape of wiper blades. “Not yet. The weather held me up.”
Hannibal frowned. His drummed his fingers on the inside of his thigh. He pressed his lips together with a pop, wish they were latched to the side of Will’s neck.
“Any time you don’t feel up to driving, allow me.”
Will furrowed his brows. “I feel fine,” he groused.
Hannibal’s hand traveled higher. He discreetly unzipped his fly, slipping his hand beneath his pants and palming his erection. He was achingly hard just at the sound of his voice.
“I’m…I’m sorry I called you, Will. I don’t mean to be a distraction. You should concentrate on the road.”
Will sighed. “No, no it’s alright. It’s kind of nice to have company on the long drive.”
Something unfurled in Hannibal’s belly, and his cock twitched. His cheeks flamed, with arousal and alcohol both. He took a breath, removing his hand from his pants only to down another drink.
“It’s nice to have company here, too,” Hannibal revealed, not even sober enough to cringe. “I miss you Will.”
Will sucked in a breath. Hannibal sounded…different, he surmised. Looser. Less guarded.
“Are you drinking, Hannibal?”
Hannibal laughed, throaty and fond. “Not now,” he said logically. He placed the phone on speaker and pulled out his cock. “My hands are otherwise occupied.”
Will made the turn into his long drive at Wolf Trap, blinker on even though no one was behind him. His gut clenched. “What are you doing if not drinking?”
Hannibal scooted down in the leather chair, opening his legs. He squeezed around the base of his cock, then up to spread the precum down his shaft, easing the way. “Touching myself,” he admitted, “and talking to you.”
“Fuck,” Will audibly swore. “Hannibal. Hannibal listen to me. Ok?” He fumbled with his keys, dropping them twice on the porch. His hands were shaking. The lock snicked open and he opened the door…the dogs were all sitting at attention, waiting for him.
He gave them a cursory pat and headed to his bedroom.
“You need to hang up the phone, Hannibal. You’re drunk. You’ll regret all of this in the morning, if you even remember it.”
Hannibal made a little noise. “Won’t regret it,” he murmured. He was stroking himself languidly, slow and with steady pressure. “Won’t regret you.”
Will cleared his throat. His cheeks were ruddy and he was half-hard. “I uh—just lemme. I don’t know. Fuck,” he cursed, flustered and aroused both.
He shucked off his pants and shirt, pulled a fresh white t-shirt out of the draw and shrugged it on. He could hear Hannibal’s grunts, breathy and quick. In the background, the wet slide of his hand on his cock and the crackling fire.
Will’s mouth grew dry.
Perhaps, this was ok, he reasoned. Hannibal won’t remember it, anyway. He lay down, phone tucked into his ear. “What do you need from me, Hannibal?” His voice had dropped low, Hannibal’s name soft in his mouth.
“Need you,” Hannibal breathed. “Your body. Your mind. You stretched out in my bed.”
Will cleared his throat. His erection strained against his boxers, but he did not touch himself. “How would you want me?” he asked, his face flaming.
Hannibal hummed. “Any way you would have me,” he said softly. He quickened his hand, his cock twitching in his palm. He was close…so close already.
“In a perfect world. Then how?”
Hannibal caught his breath. “On your back, so I could look at you. On your knees, your back arched”—unh—“or looming over me, seated deep inside.” He thumbed the head of his cock, giving it a tight squeeze. His breath hitched. “Any way at all, Will, as long as you wanted it. Wanted me.”
Will breathed heavily on the other end of the phone, his breath stuttering out. He closed his eyes. “I would like that,” he said. “I would like you.”
Hannibal groaned, coming hard in his hand. He stroked himself through it, milking the last bit of seed. He looked at his stained pants and wished it had been Will’s skin.
“I miss you, Will,” Hannibal said when he’d come down from his high.
Will smiled. “I know,” he said. His erection throbbed. He was not sure what to do about it…touching himself felt far too much like crossing a line. He slipped his hand beneath his boxers and tugged them down over his cock. The cool air felt good. His fingers felt better.
They’d crossed that line already, he reasoned.
“Good night, Hannibal.” The room was dark, the moon shining through the bare windows. He simply held himself, not yet moving his hand.
Hannibal’s breathing had slowed, and he grew drowsy. “Good night, Will.”
Before Will could say anything else he would regret, he ended the call.

I’m a newer Larrie and pretty naive about the One Direction days because I didn’t listen to that type of music during the time they were a band. I started liking them individually and somehow found myself in this fandom. I guess my question is why do fans compare them constantly? They all came from the same band, they all seem to support each other at least privately if not publicly and appear to be pretty grateful to have had that same experience. I’ve seen some some solo Harry fans really attack Liam and Louis negatively with even comments on their looks. They constantly compare them to Harry and how they’re somehow losers because they don’t currently have the kind of commercial success as Harry. I’ve seen other solo fans also go after Harry for all kinds of reasons too, which is just so sad to see. Was it like this in the band too? Or has this all heightened because they all went solo? They all have different sounds, so why compare them? Am I missing something maybe?
Hi darling. Welcome to the hellhole fandom. So, no. When they were in the band it was actually unusual for anyone to ever voice a dislike for any one of them. People had their favorites, but publicly everyone supported everyone.
1DHQ started the fracture with the constant pushing of Harry vs the band. They really wanted to position Harry as being separate from (and better than) the other guys. Then Zayn left. There were people who were disappointed/angry with him or who no longer cared about his career, so we started having OT5 vs OT4 discourse. Then babygate started and we had the next fracture where people began to think maybe Larry broke up or Louis cheated on Harry. This was when people became houies (people who thought HL has dated, but now has broken up). Then that was followed by the hiatus and Harry/his team pushing the separation of Harry up a notch.
There were still many OT4 supporters until HS1 dropped and then there was a whole faction of people who flipped out over Harry’s lyrics and image not meeting their expectations and I think that was when houies really divided into harries and louies. There were still larries and antis. But now there were also louies who were only interested in Louis and “rad louies” (radical louies) who hated Harry and thought he was the reason Louis’ career was being “sabotaged”. And there were also harries — some of whom hated Louis because they thought he cheated on Harry and some also bought into the idea that Harry was just better than everyone else.
The fractured nature of our fandom really went into overdrive with the popularity of Fine Line and quarantine. Thousands and thousands of people entered the fandom and many had zero interest in 1D. Harry’s het image was in overdrive with Watermelon Sugar and the idea that Camille broke his heart (thus, being inspiration for the album). Holivia, DWD, As It Was, Harry’s House and Harry’s growing fame really made things worse in that department.
It seems as though a lot of Harry’s newest fans see any link back to 1D or his former bandmates as being a step backwards or as the other guys trying to “use” Harry as a way to promote themselves. And until recently, Harry spoke very little about the band and had very little public interaction with them, so unless you paid very close attention, it was easy to think he didn’t care much for or about them. I think many fans do this weird thing of needing their fave to be “the best” — as if that somehow reflects on them, as well. Like, the way many Harries went overboard making sure Lloyd won best tour photographer only because they didn’t want Louis’ photographer to win. It’s ridiculous.
Some of the hatred towards Harry is rooted in jealousy because people feel he had an unfair advantage over the others, thus having a success the others could have had just as well. Some of the hate is people feeling as though he has the power to do whatever he wants in terms of his image and stunts, so he must be fake and only cares about fame and money. Some of it is people buying into the idea that Harry ended the band because he wanted to be a star and he’s actively trying to ruin Louis’ career. There are a million different reasons people send hate his way.
As for comparing the five of them, as you say, they all have different sounds and none of them compete with each other. But I do think Sony very much wants Harry to be the Justin Timberlake and be the only one who reaches that huge level of success. And the media doesn’t help because many of the articles are written in a way that praises Harry and puts the others down (for no reason at all), so fans feel defensive and lash out. I tend to think Liam, Niall, Louis, and Harry all care about each other very much and are supportive of each other. And I really doubt they like the articles that do that nor would they support the nasty way some of the fans behave.
Sorry this was so long. And at the same time, this barely touched the surface, but I hope it helped a little.

6, 7, 8 for the hater poll? (star wars)
6. which ship fans are the most annoying?
after that ship poll recently? codywan. like we're all being a little annoying campaigning for our faves, but that annoying is all in good fun; these guys, though, definitely started to cross a line a few times. and before that, even as a prequels stan, neither codywan nor its fandom were really on my radar.
7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?
the answer to this is still kylo ren, because i actually really enjoyed him as a character in the force awakens; he had a lot of potential as a very unhinged, entitled villain, but the fandom woobie stuff got out of control so intensely so quickly.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
star wars is such a fractured fandom that you don't really find uniform consensus about most anything, but! i definitely end up rolling my eyes at a lot of people's takes on the jedi; they're neither flawless beings who can do no wrong nor are they wholly corrupted and evil, they're an institution with good intentions but they're flawed, as all institutions are. i'm very excited for the acolyte this summer, considering what it's going to explore about the jedi order, but i definitely feel like this discourse is going to get especially more rancid after that drops lol

Tagged by my fellow angst-lover @hakunahistata! Thanks for the tag, this was fun!
How many works do you have on ao3?
11!
What's your total ao3 word count?
247,209... Okay, okay but ~119,000 of that is collaborative work so really that's just 127,671 words that are only mine... (holy shit. Seriously??)
What fandoms do you write for?
Good Omens!
Top five fics by kudos:
Of Kings and Kids - A Good Omens Christmas Story: Self explanatory! :D
A Little Life : AKA the dementia fic that I wrote for Good Omens Song & Poetry Exchange. Human AU
Return to Eden - Aziraphale and Crowley return to where it all began in an attempt to help Aziraphale remember the real beginning.
Ostinato - Written for the Sex Pollen Event. Crowley performs an ancient ritual steeped in music to force Aziraphale to return from Heaven.
Fractured - Aziraphale grapples with the immediate aftermath of the War in Heaven.
Do you respond to comments?
YES! But sometimes it takes me a little while.
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
....*cackles* Personally, I think my angstiest ending is Choice.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Happy endings? What're those? Nah, I think my Christmas fic, A Carol Conversation has the happiest ending. It's the closest thing to fluff I've ever written, it's basically a Hallmark movie.
Do you get hate on fics?
I haven't yet!
Do you write smut?
I try to Yes, I do, but it's something I'd like to get better at.
Craziest crossover:
I've never written a crossover! But, the brain worm for Good Omens x The Good Place is definitely brewing.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of
Have you ever had a fic translated?
No, but that'd be so cool!
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I worked on Coming Home and A Very Clippy Christmas! @the-literal-kj and I have a major collaboration called Bitter Things in the works, too!
All time favorite ship?
I mean, how could I betray our Ineffable Idiots? Though I do have a perhaps unnatural adoration for Lucifer/Angel Crowley ;)
What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The very first Good Omens fic I ever started told the rest of the story of 1941 and how it shaped events going forward. It started as a one-shot (that is on AO3) and has five more chapters sitting in my google drive, unfinished.
What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm pretty good with metaphors and setting scenes. I've been told I'm decent with plot.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Smut and dialogue, also managing word count...
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
If it fits the story, absolutely!
First fandom you wrote in?
Good Omens is all I ever posted in, but I have a partially written Shadow and Bone fic from before I knew that what I was doing was writing a fan fic.
Favorite fic you've written?
A Little Life. I'm proud of that story and the response it got from those who read it. <3
No pressure tagging: @adverbian, @tawnyontumblr, @dbacklot99, @harlotofupdog, @doonarose

Shipping is fun and it gets the fandom involved but when the fandom tries to force others to think their way or fights with the studios or the actors that’s the real cringefest. Us carylers need to stop creating friction and enemies by being negative with others who don’t agree with what we see. Or use slightly racist rhetoric which I take offense too as my adopted son and daughter are Vietnamese. No one thought my wife and I were a romantic fit but we were until we weren’t so no one had to see it or agree but us. that’s what my last anon ask was about. we make ourselves look stupid when we pick apart stuff like the big 3 thing. That’s meaningless bs that makes us look bitter and crazy and like canon is all that matter when we all know we may not ever get canon anyway. I’m an old x files shipper who knows how ridiculously fun but bad this can get especially if we let the bitter people who fight about everything that doesn’t match their vision for our ship make everyone hate us We can’t have nice things if we make everyone hate us including the actors and studios
I'm not the best person to speak on fandom politics because I don't really participate. (I post fic very occasionally and I have this blog.) It feels like a waste of time I don’t have—I’d rather be writing said fic than argue with strangers about something as subjective as what TV characters to like. I have posted about racism before and my short-version take on bigotry is: it's not okay, regardless of who happens to share their casual -isms with the crowd.
I have a huge issue with the recent interviews Norman did in Japan. It's problematic to say that, because “we” (what ‘we’ is that, Norman?) wanted to write a ‘real’ French show, the WOC showrunner got fired in favor of a white American man. I’m confused: what uniquely qualifies Zabel over Kang? 👀
In one of the after-episode snippets, Clémence said the show has “all the French cliches.” (I wish I could post a link, but I don't have time to search. If someone knows where to find it online, please let me know?) S1 has all the American jingoistic tropes and the French characters act culturally American. With streaming services offering a variety of European TV shows, anyone can do a comparison to see if DD feels more French/European (like Norman claims) or like prettied-up American network TV.
I'm aware of the “big 3” debacle and disliked the incendiary nature of Valhalla’s post. I also disliked that some fans went out of their way to replace Michonne because of course there can only be one girl who's important 🙄 There appears to be a lot of internalized misogyny in the fandom. Both women are vital to the franchise, and Gabriel's character development was amazing and brilliantly acted too, so why doesn't he make the big three? Rankings are useless because they're arbitrary and encourage division between fans. A fractured audience is not a good thing.
Studios don't hate anyone. It’s a business and the programming execs spend zero seconds pondering what fans say. That's a different department, but I’m not sure AMC employs qualified marketing strategists. The official SM accounts look like they’re run by interns with “on the job” training. Part of the (legacy) issue is that under a previous showrunner for the flagship show, this dog-eats-dog behavior was encouraged simply because it mirrored the bleak setting of TWD. It's not an ethical approach, nor is it a good ROI to scare away the people who’d pay for merchandise and provide good word-of-mouth for the show(s).
The DD EPs want to make a show they think looks cool/epic—it's all about the visual esthetic and some of them are so burnt out they don't even care about the plot at all. A fanfic author writes to please themselves, but a screenwriter has to please their audience. The viewership are paying customers, so they have the right to an opinion on what they're willing to buy. I'm deeply uncomfortable with the idea that women should be quiet and behave like good little girls, so the men in charge might reward us with “nice things.” I’ve seen that show before and there’s no treat awaiting the docile at the end.
Based on the latest slew of interviews, the buzzword du jour seems to have moved on from ‘cool’ and ‘epic’ (probably because they gained ridicule instead of traction) to ‘romantic.’ It's a hard sales pitch to the very audience Norman normally complains about. The ‘crazy and bitter’ women of the fandom are the proverbial hand that feeds him and he needs their approval, not the other way around.
I'm aware, though, that some fandom behavior has spiraled into a never-ending ship war. That's the environment AMC/TWDU has created by not encouraging an atmosphere where they lift up all their characters and by not writing female friendships into the show. Everyone's worst side is on display and nobody “wins.”

Why are people this fandom telling others to touch grass whilst referring to Tommy as Buck’s ‘partner’ and acting like they’ve been together for months?
It’s totally possible they’ll have a short relationship, but it’s so weird to me that people are acting like they’re in a super deep relationship (or one at all) right now. The breakneck speed to define Buck’s first bisexual experience is odd. I feel like there would be a lot less tension in the fandom right now if BT shippers would be normal about it. Like, ship away by all means but don’t act weird when people don’t buy into your personal headcanons about where Buck and Tommy stand with each other this far on the show🤷🏻♀️
You're right, it is ridiculous that people are acting as if Tommy and Buck have a full blown relationship. They've had two date (one that ended badly) and a kiss. It is a bit over the top to already be calling him Buck's partner.
But the thing is, personally, I think there are few possible explanations for what's happening rn.
Some people have been carried away on the high of canon bi buck and finally having representation.
There are multishippers who really are just having fun (Which is cool for them. Ship and let Ship. Just stick to your lane and don't be a dick. Which goes for both sides )
There are new fans joining the fandom post kiss who have no idea of the history of the show or buddie, and see Tommy as Buck's canon boyfriend and a potential endgame relationship, and probably don't understand why we're so against him.
There are those that have always hated the idea of Buddie and/or Eddie (He got a lot of shit after the bare knuckle fighting stuff) who would rather see Buck with anyone but Eddie and they are jumping on the Buck - Tommy "relationship" with all their might.
There are trolls who just love to shit stir, and have seen a fracture in the once strong Buddie fandom and are now taking advantage.
The thing is, there's nothing we can do about any of these things. Our only solution is to stay strong as a fandom, let the buck - tommy base have there fun (while it lasts), and cultivated our corner of fandom. The block button exists for a reason. We just have to wait and see how things play out, and continue fight for our endgame.
Thank you so much for your ask anon. 💙 Have a lovely day.

Chicago PD fanfic
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Chicago PD (TV) Rating: Not Rated Warnings: Major Character Death Characters: Hank Voight, Erin Lindsay, Trudy Platt, Alvin Olinsky, Antonio Dawson, Kevin Atwater, Kim Burgess, Adam Ruzek, Jay Halstead, Hailey Upton Additional Tags: Snapshots, Reflection, Canon-Typical Violence, Canonical Character Death, Angst, Sad Ending, Implied/Referenced Character Death, Implied/Referenced Suicide, Stabbing, Implied/Referenced Drug Use, Kidnapping, Racism, Panic Attacks, I Don't Even Know, Intelligence Unit as Family (Chicago PD)
Summary:
Snapshots through the years, as Hank watches the job slowly destroy his team one by one.
Notes: This was a little hard to tag but I tried my best. This is also a new formatting I'm trying with snapshots, so I hope everyone is able to follow/understand it okay.
Enjoy!
Hank had only been running the Intelligence unit for two months when Jules Willhite was murdered. That’s the first time Hank saw his team start to fracture. He saw how the grief affected them all, specifically Antonio and Erin.
How more arguments and disagreements started happening through his unit, more accusations. Less trust and his fragile team he’d started building, started splitting.
And that was just the beginning of the end. That first year was hell for all of them.
First Jules was killed, then Diego was kidnapped, Antonio was shot and nearly lost his life, then Jin was killed. And each time his team suffered the price.
…
Erin.
Hank had always been proud of Erin. How she turned her life around from when he met her as a tennager, and became a great cop, a detective he was proud of. And then Gregory Yates happened. Hank watched as Erin slowly spiraled. First Nadia’s death then Bunny back in her life. Hank tried, but Erin was too far gone, too far in Bunny’s grasp and her grief.
Even when she eventually came back to Intelligence Hank still saw the haunted look in her eyes that never seemed to leave.
Soon Justin would be dead and a year later Erin gone. One of Hank’s greatest fears had come true and he saw how the job destroyed Erin like he always feared.
And he’d been too late. Too late to fully save Erin. Maybe New York would be good for her. That’s all Hank could hope for. After she stopped answering his messages and calls he hoped she’d just found a better life.
…
Trudy.
Trudy had always been the strongest of them. Out of Hank, Trudy and Alvin, Trudy had always been the one who could bounce back the quickest.
Even as they got older and Trudy suffered a career ending injury and was forced to desk duty, she was always a force to be reckoned with. So finding her about to kill the man who murdered her father, shook Hank a bit. She’d never been involved in that sort of revenge the same as Hank and Alvin were.
“He killed my dad”. Trudy sobbed and Hank could only hold her.
“I know, I know he did, Dee. But you wouldn’t be able to live with yourself”. Hank knew he couldn’t.
Trudy wasn’t the same headstrong woman he’d known for almost thirty years after that.
…
Alvin.
The next person Hank watched the job completely destroy was Alvin. Hank had been watching the live drain from Alvin’s eyes for years. There wasn’t much of a spark there when they met and Hank had just seen it dim as the years went on.
After that day with Pulpo, Alvin had never been the same. After Lexi was killed, Hank was honestly surprised Alvin didn’t kill himself.
Hank had seen the way Alvin would look at his gun, with longing almost, in his eyes. Hank started taking Alvin’s gun at the end of the day even though Alvin would never hand over his backup no matter what Hank said or threatened. Hank and Meredith came to an understanding that year as Hank was over there so much making sure Alvin had survived the night.
Over the next year Alvin turned into a shell of himself, a man Hank barely recognized anymore. And he hated it. So much.
So he wasn’t surprised when Alvin took the blame for Bingham’s death. Alvin was loyal, always had been, but Hank knew it wasn’t just that.
“I got this, man”. Alvin rasped but as Hank looked into his dying best friend’s eyes, he knew the words were full of shit.
“I know, they're going to fix you up, your-your going to be alright”.
Lies
Lies
Lies
…
Antonio.
Hank’s not sure how he missed it. That Antonio was doing drugs. But there he was holding Antonio as he cried and tried to explain what had happened, how he’d developed an addiction to painkillers.
“It’s okay, it’s okay”. Is all Hank could mutter as Antonio cried.
But it wasn’t okay, it never was.
Hank watched as Adam was arrested for Antonio’s crime and good god did he want to shake Adam for doing something so stupid like following in Alvin’s footsteps.
Adam got home safely in the end but Antonio resigned and was gone before Hank could even convince him to stay. Maybe it was for the best.
Another cop this job had destroyed.
…
Kevin.
Hank knew this wasn’t the first time Kevin experienced racism. And that it wouldn’t be the last. But that doesn’t mean Hank didn't see how it affected him.
Antonther member of his team was shot, injured that year. Hank saw the fire dim in Kevin’s eyes after that. Even when things had quieted down Hank knew the damage was done.
Kevin still came to work everyday, did his job but Hank was stuck watching another one of his cops, who had the potential to be a great police officer, suffer.
…
Kim.
Since Kim joined Intelligence, Alvin’s words that day were always at the front of his brain.
“This job is going to rip her heart out and I don’t want a front row seat”.
Alvin was right. It had. And Hank had the front row seat to watch it all. Sometimes over alcohol while feeling miserable for himself in his empty house, Hank thought about Kim. How eager she’d been to join Intelligence. Her smile that day in the hospital, stitches in her face when he offered her Erin’s empty spot. And her smile again the second time he offered her a spot in Intelligence and she accepted his offer.
How that eagerness and her smile faded as the years went on.
Instead of Alvin, Hank had to watch as this job destroyed another one of his cops, how PTSD slowly turned her into a hardened cop. Hank didn’t want that, not another cop with a bright spirit hardened by the force.
Kim eventually came back to work, but Hank knew this might’ve just been something she couldn’t fully put behind her.
…
Adam.
Adam. He’d been too naive, too wild and immature and Hank wasn’t surprised when it didn’t last long. He thinks it might’ve been his arrest that fully mellowed Adam out. Maybe Alvin’s death.
Hank just knew that putting Adam undercover with the Beck’s years later was one of his biggest regrets.
“I don’t have PTSD”. Hank had almost laughed when Adam said that.
“You need to get help, Adam”. They’d met up later over a drink after the case was closed and Adam had talked to Kim.
“I’m fine, Boss”. Adam replied avoiding eye contact.
“You're not fine. You need help”. Hank left soon after that. There was no point in going back and forth, Hank had learned that a long time ago.
Hank couldn’t lose another one. Not Adam.
…
Jay.
Hank wanted to say he was surprised when Jay handed in his resignation but part of him wasn’t. He headed to the airport hoping to catch Jay before he boarded his plane.
Hank knew there was no changing Jay’s mind so he just stuck his hand out. Jay looked at it for a moment before shaking it.
“Stay safe”. There’s so much Hank wanted to say. But he couldn’t. He didn’t think Jay would want to hear it so Hank didn’t even bother.
“I’ll try”. Jay replied and they exchanged a nod before Jay walked away.
Another member of his team, his family, is gone.
…
Hailey.
Hank knew he dragged her down with him. Jay had been right that night. After Roy, she changed. A shell of herself and Hank knew it was his fault. As much as he tried telling himself that he had tried to get her to leave, and she chose not to, he knew it was his fault.
“Hailey?” Hank asked as he walked into the locker room finding Hailey having a panic attack as Jay tried to calm her.
They both looked up at him as he spoke. Jay glared before turning back to his wife while Hailey just stared at him before gasping for breath again.
“I’m fine, I’m fine”. Hailey mumbled as she shrugged Jay’s hand up and sat up, wiping her tears.
Hank didn’t say anything as Jay aimed his glare back at him. Hank just nodded before heading back to his team. He’d clearly caused enough damage.
He destroyed Hailey like he’d destroyed Alvin, Erin, Antonio, Kim, Adam, Jay.
Maybe it wasn’t just the job.
…
Hank.
The job had been slowly killing him longer than Hank would admit. The long years of watching others suffer, knowing you were failing the people you are in charge of. Losing Camille than Justin, Erin, Alvin, Noah, had all taken its toll on Hank. But he couldn’t complain because it was his fault. .
Hank could only hope, tied to a chair in whatever warehouse he’d been brought to, that Trudy would look after the unit. Take better care of them than Hank could.
“You have one call, Voight”. Frank Matson said as he reentered the room where Hank was slowly bleeding to death from the three stab wounds he’d already sustained.
“Go to hell”. Hank refused to make a call. He wouldn’t do that. His team had already suffered enough and even if calling meant they’d be able to track the call and find him, Hank wouldn’t risk their lives again.
“You know I’ve been watching you. You're all alone”. Hank turned Matson out as he looked down at his shirt that was slowly soaking through with blood.
Matson wasn’t wrong.
His silence seemed to tick Matson off as he was in front of him with the knife again. This time Hank fought unintentionally injuring himself further. Or maybe it was intentional. Before Matson got tired of his refusal and lured a member of his team into danger.
As the world went dark and Hank’s head lolled forward, he knew he was another person who this job had destroyed. Hank didn’t like thinking of his first few years on the job. The bittersweet memories of his family. But one thing Hank knew is he was happier back than.
It wasn’t just the job that destroyed his team. It was Hank. He knew he couldn’t blame the job anymore. Hank hadn’t protected them as much as a sergeant should and they all paid the price.
Hank’s final thought was that maybe the team would finally heal now.

So I saw a post about tumblr wanting to try this 'communities' thing, and I just gotta vent/say my piece. (the tl;dr is 'fuck that shit')
1. I really hate the current trend of fracturing and fragmenting things down into little pieces so they can be categorised into boxes. That's not natural. (Also, discord pushing threads, which I already detest for 1) making me feel like I'm gonna hurl from the violently dissonant, ugly layout, 2) the severely narrow topic problem, and 3) how neurodiverse-hostile they are.)
Like, naturally conversations meander. If you're only allowed to discuss one topic, it's gonna be stifling. You WILL run out of things to say. Making another little box isn't going to fix it, it'll just add to the clutter
2. Quite importantly, honestly, just stop fucking changing shit. It's unnecessary
3. It's not going to be neurodiverse-friendly. As if fandom hasn't changed enough to become increasingly unfriendly to people who are just here to enjoy their hyperfixation and/or special interest. I don't need another thing to learn to navigate. I don't need another place with different rules to carefully traverse. Yes, I'm fandom old and salty. I'm AuDHD and a spoonie with about half a spoon to spend on a good day. I do not have the energy to do all this switching about and jumping from thing to thing. It's exhausting. I want everything where I can find it, and where I can be passionate without having to perform tasks like it's some customer service job, or job interview
4. FOMO shit is toxic. This whole 'be a part of the thing!' necessity if you want to 'engage' or see the conversations and 'content'. Why? I guess it's a social media model that drives engagement, but the stress of it is going to fuck people up. What if you don't have the time, energy, health, spoons, social skills, etc? I have no idea how much interacting will be expected with other people in the 'community' but I can see it becoming a twitter-like circlejerk, and if you're not one of the 'in' crowd doing your required interaction/reblogging/commenting then you might as well not exist to that fandom/group
5. From the description, it looks like these things will be ripe for drama, toxicity, clique shit, becoming echo chambers, etc. because 'semi public' means you gotta opt in/join in some way and whatever's said isn't visible to any old user
Like, who is going to create and mod these things? Who decides what the rules are? What if your fave is 'problematic', or your kink is 'gross' (if nsfw is allowed at all), your take doesn't fit with fanon, or you are just a bit weird and people shun or turn on you for that?
I hope I'm wrong and either these things never happen or they're not as bad as I fear, but fuck sakes I have the above worries because it's shit I've seen happen time and time again, and I don't want to see given a place here
Also, genuinely, what the fuck is tumblr going to be like if you can't/don't want interact with these community things?
Quickly, 6. it creates an 'us' (in crowd) vs. 'them' (not part of our gang)
And then 7. who is going to be dominant in these 'communities'?
Yes, I'm upset right now, because tumblr was just fine (well, fine enough) until this point. I mean:
We have the ability to make sideblogs! (My Star Wars sideblog from... well a decade ago oops... is still out there, I don't touch it any more but I left it up for people to go through). Tumblr even made it so we can reply with sideblogs, which was a very neat update.
Tags!! I don't think it's as usual these days for people to go through tags to find new content, but that's how I do it, how I've always done it, and how I always intend to do it. I'm not following everyone who makes an SAS:RH post. I love you guys, but no. My dash would cause me to have a panic attack. It's already too much for me most days.
EFFORT!!!! I can be here every day full-time doing Stuff if I want! Or I can zone out for weeks if I want/need, materialise and contribute a silly meme, then drift off into the sunset again. If I 'miss' anything, I can go back through the tags, or scroll someone's blog. But honestly, who notices/cares on here if someone lurks or goes afk for a bit. It's super low pressure, because I'm doing what I can/want when I can/want
I want to opt in/out on my own time and terms. The thought of having to be part of a 'community' so I can see/not miss Content TM is freaking me out. I don't want there to be an 'appropriate' time window to interact with things like there is on other social media sites.
So, idk how the shit will look, but I don't agree with making things harder for people to access/find. I won't be posting stuff 'semi-privately'.
And you know what's super upsetting? The thought that I won't be able to see conversations and creations for things I love, because they're hidden away behind some complex new social thing I can't navigate. (Which is already an off-putting, ostracising problem on discord.) That's not how fandom communities should be.
The thought of there being less stuff 'out there' because it's in some 'community' somewhere... really not the direction I'd ever hope this site wold go in
I'm fuckin exhausted. Just lemme do my fandom whateverness without having to perform to some arbritary social interaction standard/requirements that I neither understand nor can do
#i want to murder discord threads because this feels like similar bullshit that's just gonna exclude people#JUST PUT SHIT WHERE PEOPLE CAN ACCESS IT EASILY#aim to be as inclusive as possible with as wide an audience and engagement as possible!#why is that so damn fucking hard?#also lol how long until they'd turn communities into a subscription thing or something#they keep changing shit and the newer people to things like discord and tumblr and fandom in general have no idea what it was like before#things have not always been this bad!#they were bad in other ways but nothing as exhausting as this social-media-model bullshit#yes i'm very fucked up over discord's update#i detest threads with a violent passion there's no fucking need to separate everything out until nothing is left in the channel#i can't even turn the ugly icon off in servers i own#i miss irc#i miss forums#i didn't like lj that much but goddamn#i miss pre-jumbled-up-tags tumblr#i miss pre-threads discord#we do not fucking need this change but it's being shoved down our throats because investors want to see new shit#i'm off to see if i can fix discord so i don't nearly throw up when i open it#the horrible thing is that it looks faintly passable in light mode but i can't read in light mode and you get light or dark and nothing els#personal#vent#just in case anyone hides those tags idk this has been a vent post#i'll go back to rogues soon

tagged by the lovely @crepuscularqueens sorry I always take sooo long to get these done, lol
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
144
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
527,412
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Mostly Roswell New Mexico! Though I dabble in The Vampire Diaries and accept prompts for Lockwood and Co, Fate the Winx Saga, Riverdale and Hadestown
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Something to Celebrate- a short little Chenford dancing scene
Can I lead You Astray?- a rivusa get together fic
Wanna See What’s Under That Attitude- Hallmark Christmas movie fake dating Valevans, which is only so highly rated because I wrote it at fandoms peak interest in the pairing
Swing Life Away- rnm all human au, this was and still is my passion project
Like the Sky- a short missing scene from Lockwood and Co, and an exploration of Lucy’s feelings for Lockwood and Norrie
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I wrote for the community so it’s really cool to discuss the characters
The only exceptions are rude comments get to sit- unless I think it’s a misunderstanding than I’ll respond with a simple redirect and thank you
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Angst is NOT my thing, but probably do you remember? which just has Michael fall asleep before Max can ask about Alex, so it ends in their still fractured pre-show relationship
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
All my fic has happy endings pretty much! But the one that probably felt the most joyful to me personally ours which was my first foray into malexa and just ends with the sweetest big group moment
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope! Not since I moved into the rnm fandom, barring like one comment on a Forrest fic all I’ve ever gotten is really really nice interactions <3
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Haha yes, all kinds. From the softest vanilla euphemism full sex to weak ass bdsm (sorry I haven’t quite got hardcore there yet- like I keep blushing and backing out on letting Max wear a collar)
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Not really- I have one crossover written and another in the works. Rnm/Tvd which kinda writes itself.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I’m aware of
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope- ik I would be terrible to work with cause I’m super particular, but I’m not against the idea.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
You’re not gonna believe this- Echo
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
The Joniz kidnapping fic! I started back during s3 and formatted the entire thing, only for them to reveal more info on Jones so I had to replay it, and then he actually kidnapped Liz, fed her and dressed her and I was like ‘this is my fic!’
16. What are your writing strengths?
Idk- I think I put a lot of care and effort into making the characters actions and reactions plausible and realistic, cause I studied psychology for a bit and it’s one of my interests, so I just apply it a little too hard. Which feeds into a weakness cause it means I always feel incapable of characters pov’s I don’t think about an absurd amount
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
New POV’s and commas
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I love it personally- but the little Spanish I did retain from highschool isn’t enough to actually write it (so I use google translate) but I’m hoping once I have more free time to take up duolingo and actually learn it
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Doctor Who
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Swing Life Away- it’s like a child to me, however poorly written
no pressure tags @lilshitwayne @morganadw @ajna-eye-cogitations @beautifulcheat @ladynox @maeglinthebold and anyone who wants to!

20 Questions for Writers
Haven't done one of these in ages so let's have a go, thanks for the tag @capybaraonabicycle :D
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
207
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
2,039,066
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Doctor Who (179) first an foremost. <3
Some of the others include:
Holby City (12) - that was a long time ago lol
Last Tango In Halifax (8)
Happy Valley (TV) (6)
Collateral (TV 2018) (5)
Spooks | MI-5 (2)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
It's called Marriage, Honey (1064): A collection of River/13 oneshots.
Home For Christmas (760): My first advent calender fic! River/multiple Doctors, mainly 13.
When The Doctor Comes To Call (696): One of my first River/13 oneshots but a bit of River/11 thrown in.
When the Wind stands fair (489): My first River/13 multi-chapter and library fix it.
World Enough, And Time (485): A pretty elaborate River/13 fic in which River had a child with 12 on Darillium but hidden it from him and gave it to Vastra and Jenny before heading to the library. Only, the baby gets kidnapped and 13 is the one who deals with the fallout.
5. Do you respond to comments?
Absolutely! When someone took the time to comment, it's only polite to at least say thank you!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I think probably Drowning and Fracture.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Almost all of them have happy endings, I couldn't possibly pick!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really, thankfully.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes. .... occasionally... spanning quite a range of femslash.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes, though I wouldn't call them crazy. I like writing AUs of other worlds, i.e. Liv/Helen versions of Chess, Bodyguard, Lord of the Rings, Tár, Hijack, London Has Fallen... But actual crossovers would be writing Happy Valley/Collateral together (cause it just makes sense!). I also once wrote a pretty mad crossover of multiple Big Finish ranges (8DA, Gallifrey, UNIT, DoRS, War Master...) and put them in the Land of Oz so that was fun.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so and hope it stays that way.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
No. I could translate them myself into German but don't really see the point when most people read English anyway.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yeah, done quite a few with @calunalilly now, like our most recent project, a Doctor Who-Lord of the Rings AU :D Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Liv Chenka/Helen Sinclair. There is no contest. 179 of my fics are them and will continue to write for them!!
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Years ago I had started a Liv/Helen Hogwarts AU The Shape Of Things To Come but as it's since become unacceptable to engage with that content anymore. I doubt I will get back to it sadly which is a shame cause I hate leaving something unfinished but alas.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue I think? Seems to flow very easily but action too, I think, when I want to take the time for it. I'm always surprised afterwards with how exciting it is :D
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Writing enough grounding around the dialogue. I have to remind myself to do that half the time.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
If there is a point to it, sure, but not just to show off you speak multiple languages lol.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Harry Potter.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
That's a tough one... there are a lot I am very proud of for different reasons.
A Numbers Game for probably being my biggest achievement to date in terms of length and complexity. I spent so much time on that fic and love it!
What The Future Holds packs such an emotional punch, I cried writing it. And it's the only way I can make sense of the ending of Stranded and fix it properly.
The Bodyguard and the following sequels just work so so well as an Alternate Universe, I'm super happy with how it all came together and it just works.
But I think, overall, my favourite thing I've ever written and that I'm proudest of is Romance In D Minor. Just in terms of how well it's written, I've really thought about it, structure, pacing and it's just- Yes. It's the one.
Tagging some people I think might be interested but anyone who sees this and fancies it, please fell free! @calunalilly @meluisart @sircarolyn @elizabethshaw @serenbex
