i used to think the love confession scene btwn aragorn and éowyn in the films was so bittersweet and lovely but now i know how that scene goes in the books and i'm like "omg she would never say that."

#i hate how it reframes everything éowyn has going on #to be about her crush on aragorn #when in the book #it's about a) her long-time depression and b) her desire to fight #there is no reference to either of their feelings about each other #she asks him to take her with him on the paths of the dead !!!!!!!!#TWICE!!!!#but he refuses and leaves her behind #which PAINS HIM TO DO IN THE TEXT #anyway i just #always :( about that scene in the films now because of this #it's a nice scene for aragorn & really reaffirms his kindness & nobility #but dear lord. look at how they mischaracterized my girl.#re; éowyn of rohan. ( strong she seemed & stern as steel )#meta; éowyn.
