#i hate event exclusive pokemon just as much and leaving shiny locked legendaries to only be available through those SUCKS

Man, Gamefreak really seems to hate the idea of soft resetting for shinies. Besides the obvious fact of I don't believe any switch Pokemon games even have the option to soft reset (specifically not in Pokemon, other games like FE: Three Houses can still soft reset), but currently in Scarlet and Violet apparently all static encounters are shiny locked. Whether they're gifts, the starters, or any static overworld encounter every static spawn is shiny locked.

Like jeez, as much as I think shiny locks are stupid, I expected the box legendaries to be locked... Not every single static spawn in the game. Hell looking back on every switch game since, they really just don't want shinies to be available unless they say they're available, locking most shiny legends to events (sometimes region locked events too) for a full generation for no good reason.

Not to mention they decided to shiny lock Type Null in SW/SH for no reason despite it being not shiny locked the game prior...
