Killervibe with 32?
Killervibe + a kiss to wake up
~.~
"I think she needs to be put to rest," Cisco told the King.
This Sleeping Curse won. It was far time the castle accepted it. The King could throw at Cisco all the new suitors to attempt to wake the Princess that he wanted, but they both knew it was a ruse. True Love won't work here. Princess Caitlin's True Love, Prince Raymond, was dead. Everyone secretly knew that. Earl Julian and Baron Mark, Duke Dominic, did, despite their valiant efforts to try.
Dark Empress Amunet knew it too. It's exactly why she cast the curse in the first place. It was easy. It was simple. It was impossible.
Cisco wasn't ever getting his best friend back. He turned away to wipe at his wet eyes. He didn't want to give up on her. He didn't want to let her go. But there was only so much of this he could take, the year of going through everyone Princess Caitlin had ever known and inviting them to the castle had worn him down.
"Please," Cisco appealed to the King, voice cracking. "Let's just celebrate her life."
The King nodded from his throne. "I think you're right." His sigh was just as weary. "Fine," he said, addressing one of the scribes. "We'll prepare the glass coffin for a burial and rites."
Cisco turned away once dismissed, crossing his arms against his tunic. It was his own suggestion, and it was for the best, but hearing words like burial and coffin made his vision blurry. He rushed up to her tower before it would get crowded, slipping past the pink curtains.
The last suitor, Sir Ramsey, left in a fit when his kiss resulted in nothing.
Cisco sat at the edge of Princess Caitlin's bed, glancing at her frozen features. It reminded him of when they had played by the river as children and Princess Caitlin slipped on the bank, tumbling into the current. Her heavy skirts weighed her down as she sank. For ten terrifying minutes after Cisco pulled her out of the water, she was fatally frigid and fragile. He really thought she was dead.
Cisco might've only been her childhood best friend, but he loved her dearly his whole life. His hand brushed against her sleeve, smoothing out a crease.
"I'm sorry for letting you down, Caitlin." He thought about all of the suitors who had got her last touch. He brushed his thumb over her mouth to wipe her clean. He took a deep breath and kissed her forehead softly, then tucked it back under the bed. "Goodbye."
Princess Caitlin's eyelids fluttered open. The first sight in over a year brought a startling breath to her empty lungs, the shadow of her True Love, slipping through curtains.
