The Royal Romance - Book 2 - Fanfic

This is from The Royal Romance – Book 2 – after Drake and MC confront Bastien…

MC – alone in her room on the train – So that was fun. NOT!! Drake’s statement that this conspiracy and set up goes all the way to the top is right. But it’s not Queen Regina like he thinks. This goes all the way to King Constantine. And the worst part of it, now that I’m really thinking about all of it, I’m pretty sure Liam knew the whole time.

(MC pulls out her laptop and opens it up.) I wonder if I my hacking skills from college can get into Cordonian palace security. (After a few minutes…) Wow, that was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Cordonia royal security is crap. I have full access to everything. Security cameras, past recordings, everything. At least they have good cameras in pretty much every possible location except bedrooms.

Now…how far back should I go? Liam started acting weird right after the Royal Regatta. Let’s start there.

MC accesses the security logs and finds one in a small dining room with King Constantine, Liam and Bastien. The video and audio are great. All color, full sound.

Constantine – Liam, I see you’re getting rather close to that commoner girl, Heather.

Liam – Yes father. I believe she is the one.

Constantine – You’re blinded by your heart son. Keep your eyes open to your responsibilities. Have fun with the girl for a while, do what you will with her, but she will not be Queen. Madeleine has been born for this, trained since birth. She will be your choice at your Coronation.

Liam – But I have no feelings for Madeleine father.

Constantine – Feelings have nothing to do with this, Liam. This is for the stability of Cordonia. You will make the correct decision when the time comes, or I will make it for you.

Liam – (hanging his head, frowning) Yes father.(Liam leaves the room leaving Constantine and Bastien alone.)

Constantine – Bastien, watch him closely. We need a plan to rid ourselves of that girl when the time comes, if she doesn’t leave of her own volition.

Bastien – Yes sir.

Constantine – I will think on this and let you know when we need to initiate a plan.

Bastien – Of course sir.(MC stops the video.)

So he did know. He knew this whole time. Drake was right, the royals just mess with people. This all makes so much sense now. He’s been trying to distract me, keep me off balance. Especially now on this engagement tour. “I want to talk about our future…come with me to this super romantic cave.” The trip to the Eiffel Tower. And even tonight at the speakeasy, wanting to take me on a midnight tour of Paris. He said he would use his resources to help me find out who set me up. Yeah right. He’s using his resources to mess with me and keep me away from the truth.

I can’t stay here anymore. I am done with being someone’s plaything. I need to let the others know I am leaving. (Picking up Jackson’s leash) Come on baby, I know it’s late, but we’re going for a walk. (MC packs up her personal things and leaves the train.)

(Down the street MC finds a decently lit park and sits down.)I can record messages to everybody and then send them all at once after I’m on my way to the airport or wherever.

MESSAGE TO HANA –Hana, you are such an amazing friend. I want to thank you so much for always being there for me since the day we met. I hope you realize how wonderful you are and how strong you really are. Never give up on your dreams. I wish I could stay and help you find your path, but things have gotten to be a little too much for me. Please keep in touch. You can call, text, video chat, whatever, any time. Take care of yourself Hana. Good bye.

MESSAGE TO MAXWELL –Maxwell, my little brother. I will never be able to thank you enough for taking me in and making me a part of your family. It’s been quite a while since I had that. I could always count on you to make me smile, no matter how bad I felt. I wish I could give you one last big hug, but I really need to be out on my own now. I want to thank you for everything you’ve done to help me with trying to clear my name. But, I’m done investigating. I just want to move on with my life. Take care of yourself, Bertrand and little Bartie. I hope you realize you’re the glue that holds the Beaumonts together. I will miss you so much. Keep in touch. Good bye.

MESSAGE TO LIAM –Liam. I don’t know where to even begin. You are one of the sweetest, most romantic men I have ever met. I truly thought we had a connection, even though it felt like I was a contestant on The Bachelor – Royal Edition. But, based on what I know now, I don’t know if any of it was real. If you did actually care for me, or if it was all part of the game. I know what happened, Liam. I know who set me up. And I know you knew about it. All of the offers for romantic getaways, all of the sweet things you would say when we were at different functions, the way you looked at me. It was all to distract me from finding out the truth. That may not have been the only reason, but it was a big part of it. You offered to help me find out the truth, but instead you kept keeping me away from it, lying to me. I feel like such an idiot allowing myself to be played like that. I actually trusted you and believed you. Let your father know he won. This “commoner” won’t be around to distract you any longer. Even after everything, I wish you the best. Take care of yourself and I wish you a long and happy marriage to Madeleine. Good bye Liam.

MESSAGE TO DRAKE –Drake – I hate having to say good bye to you like this, but I can’t stay here anymore. Not after tonight. Well, the part before the bar with you. That part was amazing. You have been so wonderful this whole time. I told you before that you were the one I want to be with. I meant it. You see yourself as always being in Liam’s shadow. I see him being in yours. You have been there for me every time I needed you. You saved me from the horse at the Derby. You helped me on the boat at the Regatta. This is when I started getting feelings for you, by the way. Getting to spend your birthday with you. And then the night with Tarek. That night I knew you were the one for me. I would love to be able to stay here with you, and only you, but I think it’s better if I leave, go back to the States somewhere, I don’t know. You were right, Drake. The royals love playing with people’s lives. And I was their latest target. So, I’m taking myself out of the game. Constantine is the one who set me up. And Drake, I know Liam is your best friend, that you trust him, that you have been to hell and back several times with him, but he knew, Drake. He knew the whole time. I thought he was offering to take me on those romantic excursions because of his feelings for me…which I pretty much blew off all of them to spend time with you by the way. But now I realize he was doing it to distract me. Get my mind off the investigation, take blame away from him. I’m sorry, Drake. I didn’t want to tell you like this. I hope you know this epiphany has nothing to do with how I feel about you. I hope you know how much I care about you, how much I…how much I…how much I love you, Drake. Bye.

MESSAGE TO OLIVIA –Hey Olivia. Well, I know how much you hate when I text or call you, but you’re just going to have to deal with it this time. I’m leaving. The information you need to finish the investigation we’ve been on…it’s Constantine. He’s the one that set us both up. He wanted to make sure that Liam chose Madeleine. He used Bastien to set me up, and he had the information on your parents ready to release against you. He would have been the only one who knew the truth that they were trying to assassinate him. In a way, after all this, I see why he has so many enemies. I think your parents were right to try to stop him from his major power trip. Use this information however you wish. I can search through the security videos again if you want true confirmation, but you’re smart enough to know it’s the truth. Take care of yourself Olivia. I know you don’t like letting people in, but I do consider you a friend. Keep in touch if you want. Good bye.

Well, that’s done. It’s 6:30. Everyone will be waking up soon. Might as well hit “send all”. (MC pushes the SEND button on the phone.)Now to find a cab so we can get to the airport Jackson.-

Inside the train – phones begin to beep.

Maxwell – hmmm, it’s little early for my alarm. Huh? Voice message. (He listens to the message.) Woah. I’m her little brother!! Awww. Wait…she left? (Maxwell comes out into the common area of the train.

Hana – Heather’s gone? What happened last night? (Hana comes out of her cabin and finds Maxwell.) Maxwell…what happened? Heather’s gone.

Maxwell – I know. I got a message from her. I know she and Drake talked to Bastien, and then they disappeared for a while. I haven’t talked to either one of them since.

Liam – sitting on the edge of his bed, he pulls his phone out and sees the message alert. He pushes the play button and hears Heather’s sweet voice. But the words she says to him are not so sweet. She knows. She knows all of it. Well, not all of it. He wasn’t trying to distract her, only spend time with her. He still loved her, even after everything that had happened. He hated having to keep the truth from her. It took all his willpower not to tell her. Maybe he should have told her. He would have lost her anyway, but at least it would have proven how much he cared for her. She hated him now. He should have seen it. She had been avoiding him lately. He sets the phone down and puts his hands over his face. Tears stream down. He just lost the one bright spot in his life. And there was nothing he could do about it. No apology could ever fix this. Slowly he regains his composure and walks out of his cabin. He finds Maxwell and Hana talking. Apparently Heather left them goodbye messages as well.

Maxwell – Liam, there you are. Heather’s gone. She left me and Hana messages saying how great we are and then just goodbye.

Liam – She left me a message as well. I…I need to get ready for today.But just as Liam is getting ready to head to the boutique car to change, Drake comes out of his cabin. Anger all over his face. Before Liam can say a word, Drake punches him in the face.

Drake – You son of a bitch. You know this whole time. You covered for your father, you lied to her. You lied to all of us. I hope your satisfied. Watching us all run around like little rats in a maze. I thought you were actually real. You’re an even better actor than your father. You’re going to be a wonderful king. And just so you know…the nights you kept inviting Heather to come spend time with you…the reason she never showed…she was with me.

Drake walks away as Liam stands with his jaw on the ground, rubbing his sore face. Hana and Maxwell, just stare, speechless.Drake leaves the train and starts walking down the street.

A Roundtable of Hackers Dissects ‘Mr. Robot’ Season 4 Episode 4: ‘File Not Found’

The fourth episode of Mr. Robot’s final season left a lot to be desired, but still gave us a little bit to talk about. We discussed [SPOILERS, obvs] social engineering, audio surveillance, signal jamming, operational security, encrypted chat rooms, and more. (The chat transcript has been edited for brevity, clarity, and chronology.) This week’s team of experts includes:

Emma Best: a former hacker and current journalist and transparency advocate with a specialty in counterintelligence and national security.

Jason Hernandez: Solutions Architect for Bishop Fox, an offensive security firm. He also does research into surveillance technology and has presented work on aerial surveillance.

Harlo Holmes: Director of Digital Security at Freedom of the Press Foundation.

Trammell Hudson: a security researcher who likes to take things apart.

Micah Lee: a technologist with a focus on operational security, source protection, privacy and cryptography, as well as Director of Information Security at The Intercept.

Dark Army Surveillance

Yael: So, uh, how obvious is that white van?

Harlo: I'd just like to say, really appreciate that Audacity hasn't changed in over a decade. Van guy definitely had it open.

Yael: So the best way to get audio surveillance is to put a bug in the actual room and then sit in a white van outside the building?

Jason: Yeah, seems like the kind of wireless microphone setup you can buy at a spy shop.

Harlo: We're seeing some terminal stuff for rtl_tcp, which is SDR (software defined radio) software. So yeah, it's a bug.

Yael: I guess one would think that if you were going to do this, you'd be discreet, so maybe it’d be less obvious breaking and entering and hanging out in a blue van or a green van or something. Something other than a white or black van. But maybe the point was for him to know he was being listened to?

Jason: I once had a chat with a DEA agent about surveillance and he said he preferred minivans—"nobody pays attention to minivans."

Emma: If you wanted to be discreet, you wouldn't even break and enter. You don't need to plant bugs inside buildings anymore.

Yael: How would you bug them?

Emma: For Elliot's situation, the window is a perfect vector. It's glass, I'm sure. Dark Army has access to the kinds of lasers and sensors needed to bug the room from that alone.

Yael: It sounded like when the "mic went out" they just had the bug too close to the speaker, but it's really hard to find bugs.

Micah: I think maybe while Elliot was talking, he was starting to jam signals at the same time to cause the Dark Army guy to get out of the van and investigate.

Yael: How do you do that?

Micah: Well, he'd have to know what frequency to jam, which you're right, isn't easy. But he could use an SDR radio himself to do the actual jamming.

Trammell: Maybe he was messing with the antenna. I think he had pulled the bug out from somewhere. It was sitting on the table with the note "they're listening. " So when Darlene came into the room, she saw the note and the bug.

Yael: I thought if he pulled the bug and brought it closer to the recording device, it could make that noise, but not if he left the bug there. And also I don’t know if that's true; I just know it happens sometimes with mics too close to recorders.

Harlo: I want to look at the man pages for that program, because if I recall correctly, the only options supplied were an IP address and a port for listening.

Cyprus Bank Op

Yael: So Darlene said Olivia was not authorized to transfer anything— “all their authentication goes through a proxy and everything else in their domain is read-only.” So they need to break into Virtual Realty. But I didn’t quite get what Virtual Realty was.

Emma: They didn’t say what Virtual Realty is yet. That was dangerously brief surveillance—only one day. Darlene only saw one shift of security officers; you can't generalize schedules off of that. And no prediction for Xmas, really. It's blind faith. Not that they have a choice.

Trammell: What was going on with Darlene’s OpSec? I realize she was venting and planned to erase the voicemail, but screaming the entire plan to the world while standing on the street was a serious WTF.

Harlo: VOICEMAIL. That's our lil OpSec fail. Maybe she’s on coke? Thus the rant? Then she realizes what she said was really really mean…

Trammell: V O I C E M A I L? Even in 2015, that's such a faux pas.

Harlo: LET'S TALK ABOUT OUR CRIMES ON AT&T'S VOICEMAIL PROGRAM. Like, I have never even left carrier metadata between me and my best friends. Because that's why Signal exists.

Emma: The whole thing was very poorly done on Darlene’s part, but realistically so, given the circumstances. They're all cracking, and they're not playing a long game anymore. They know they aren't getting away clean.

Yael: Yeah, I kind of feel like they're careless because they have nothing left to lose.

Emma: Nothing to lose and they HAVE to proceed, it's now or never.

Encrypted Chat

Yael: Do we, uh, want to talk about Dom’s Adium chat room?

Micah: Dom was using Adium as an IRC [Internet Relay Chat] client, but it also used to be a popular Jabber client for Mac that people would use for OTR-encrypted chats. But she was talking to the person on IRC, which doesn't have built-in encryption, and there was no sign of her using OTR in her private messages

Jason: Yeah, I think she connected to Freenode, which has publicly available/searchable chat logs.

Harlo: The screen shows a little lock icon.

Lost in the Woods

Micah: This was very much a 404 File Not Found themed episode. Mr. Robot had this monologue: “Seems like we're always thinking of ourselves when looking for something that's lost. But we never think much about the lost. Whatever, whoever is unable to be found. Whether it’s a set of keys left somewhere and forgotten, a couple guys wandering aimlessly in the woods, or someone who's disappeared inside himself. What if that's what they wanted all along? Not to be found?”

Emma: Can we talk about the attempted social engineering at the gas station and the three different tactics they each used? Desperate and reserved, straightforward and insistent, and finally just snapping and losing his patience.

Yael: I feel like they COULD'VE used some social engineering. She totally would've given them a ride.

Trammell: There was an interesting minor point about what happens in a cashless society when the internet goes down. Always online systems fail in very brittle ways.

Harlo: I kind of like the idea of overusing the term “social engineering.” Like, where does one draw the line between social engineering, and saying-whatever-because-I-just-want-you-to-shut-up?

Yael: WHAT IS THE GODDAMN SHORTCUT?

Trammell: The shortcut was a bit tropy…

Yael: I just have to say that Tyrell telling Elliot he “didn't care” because he was wearing the standard hacker uniform (black hoodie) instead of an overpriced suit really pissed me off. As if everybody in expensive work clothes gives a shit.

Emma: I got the sentiment. I just think it was expressed poorly. To me it was Tyrell talking about how he thought he and Elliot/Mr. Robot were a team. But Elliot was never of that mindset and would never see Tyrell as his equal—which I felt was the other betrayal. Tyrell has always presented himself as someone with technical chops. In his first appearance, there's the bit about him still using Linux and surprising Elliot. But while he's far from incompetent, he's not on Elliot's level. And that realization hurt, along with learning that he didn't get the E-Corp position on his own. It was because of Elliot.

Yael: Oh, did he figure that out?

Emma: I thought he did from the discussion with Elliot, that it's Whiterose’s maneuvering, not him being recognized as valuable. And at this point he knows he's going to die. He's lost everything. His wife is dead, his son is gone…

Yael: I don’t even know what to say about this scene. Even before he got shot. Like… learn some survival skills? You're probably not going to die because it's cold out and you're walking for an hour? Also one of the things they teach in survival schools is "what's going to kill you first." You make decisions based on what will kill you first—so like, yes you might drink possibly contaminated water if the alternative is dying of dehydration. So, like, you don't bleed to death because you're worried about Dark Army at the hospital and how they'd kill you. Also, you're telling me there's no first aid supplies in that van? Like what the fuck.

Emma: The metrics of success are different here than in the usual survival situations. In the survival situations that those schools cover, your ONLY goal is to survive and help your cohorts survive. The remnants of FSociety see it as a struggle to save the world. Survival becomes secondary to success.

Yael: I think it was just badly written for Tyrell to go from "you don't care!" to, like, not caring.

Emma: Definitely a rushed final arc for Tyrell that could’ve been handled and explored better.

Final Major Project - Evaluation

Research:

EGX 2017 Rezzed (Public Event): Though I did get some nice information and details about a few developers and games, I feel like I did not get the most out of the time I had at the event, I did spend a while talking to the OCTAHEDRON developer about his game but hardly spent as much time talking to the makes of speed Jogging or EaldorLight. I even missed out the careers section which would have been really good for looking at alternate careers if working alone doesn’t work well. – I wasn’t feeling good at all there either later, so I was slowed down for the event even more.

I will improve my research in public events by stopping by and talking to more people, visiting as many various areas as possible and writing so many more notes down like what kind of games and companies you can find here.

Starbound: I researched another game called Starbound, which I picked because of its numerous similarities to my game such as its target audience and themes.

Looking at this game was a very effective research for me since it taught me effective ways to make combat less violent and various details about biomes and environment (freezing cold places were not just a desert of snow and ice, they had trees made of ice and crystals shining).

Source code: One of my great research areas that would be the most challenging but helpful was source code analysis, where I could develop greater knowledge of coding in GameMaker: Studio (GM: S for short). There was previous a humble bundle offer where if you donated a certain amount of money, you’d receive various codes for things, a GameMaker bundle came up offering GM:S Pro, various modules and a bunch of games with their source code. I took this bundle and looked at the source code for their most popular game, INK, because it was an eye-catching platformer. I first adopted INK’s coding standard for labelling, if something is a sprite then its name starts with s, objects start with o etc. I looked at the code and tried to determine what things meant and how they worked, but I fell back badly here. What I did in the end was try to understand some bits of code there, and if I’d try to apply that code to my game, this was mainly gravity and movement which looked very basic and simple, I thought I could type it up in a notepad doc and put it in my game but it didn’t work and set me back a little in production.

From this, I now know that I need to be much more professional when studying source code like this. I should write down notes and log about areas, take snippets and talk about them like what they mean and what they do – and If I don’t know what they do then I should teach myself via YouTube or the GM: S help menu

YouTube: One of the most useful research sources was YouTube, where I watched tutorials made by Shaun Spalding who has loads of knowledge, skill and experience with GameMaker: Studio. The tutorials he had that I used for my game included platformer tutorial, camera tutorial.

I watched these tutorials only when I needed them. I could and should improve this by watching Shaun’s tutorials on other things, like particle effects, in my own time which should help me develop even more knowledge and ideas in my games.

So, I have looked at various research sources that cover a variety of areas of my project, I looked at public speakers, similar products and tutorials, and I have researched my age rating, my theme and the software that I’ll be using. I feel like I could have done a lot more research though, like looking at more sources whether they’re new or old to me, and look more into parts of my game in general.

Pre-Production:

What you did: Pre-Production started off developing the basic idea for my game furthermore with details such as where the game is based exactly (A huge island in the middle of the Northern Atlantic Ocean, I chose here after I looked into locations and ecosystems like this via wiki). I made a Gantt chart to help plan and coordinate my time, however I didn’t stick to it all that well at first. Soon I updated it by colour coding the tasks to label the progress or state of the work, such as later, to begin, near completion, complete or progressing. -This proved to be exceptionally helpful as I could open up the Gantt chart at the start of a lesson and straight away know what I need to work on. I’d update it once I complete said work or the lesson finishes. As of for ‘later’, I’d label things I don’t need to work on yet as ‘later’ such as production and evaluation tasks. *I also cut off a couple tasks that I originally added but were not relevant to my project.

I went onwards to produce some concept art to show off some ideas for my game, one of a ‘fragment’ and another of a ‘gemstone’. Producing these helped shape more ideas and concepts for the story and gameplay, I went onwards to produce documents like my One Sheet, Game Design Documents, Character Profile, Script, Mind Maps, each progressed when looking at my Gantt Chart but took longer than I thought they’d take which made times spill over and got a little stressful once production was coming close. The other extremely useful document I made was a list about all the aspects and mechanics of a game that I intended to add, and all the visuals that I would require for the game too. Just like the Gantt chart, this made it very easy to pick up where I was and what I needed to do.

I could avoid time spill-over by working on documents as soon as I can, and avoid leaving things to do exactly when I say to.

Production:

What you did: In production, I created 2D platformer game that went fairly well. In this, I develop a greater understand of GameMaker: Studio and its programming language, GML, The start of the game worked very poorly, as I produced a lot of code based off of the source code of a game I researched, this code followed different coding standards than I was used to, since the programmer must have been an insanely more experienced than me. Since I wasn’t all too sure about the code and functions I used, the game hardly worked to start off. I however quickly overcame this by watching Shaun Spalding’s YouTube tutorial for a platformer. I followed a production list of everything I needed to make, game with its mechanics and everything plus what key decisions did you make There weren’t really many ‘key’ decisions that I made.

Challenges and overcoming them:

The usual challenge that came up for me was setting up mechanics that I’ve never done before, usually I would look up previous work for functions that I could use, or the f1 key in GM: S which brings up a whole help menu that comes with an index that I use to search up functions and aspects of GM: S – This help menu was a vital asset I used for learning various functions but it’s downside came to having to search by the keyword, it could either bring you exactly the function you’re looking for or some random feature of GM: S. I also only used the index in this menu, so in future I should try looking for other things.

End product and audience: I find that my final product is very suitable for my audience, the game and its controls are easy to understand and follow End product and initial idea: My final product ended up very similar to my initial idea, the main differences were that I missed out some of the small ideas and concept that I thought of, they were cut due to running short of time and focusing on more important parts of my game.

Improvements to end product: My production could have been improved by performing more research on relevant software before production began, and tested the new code I wanted to use before production. I did not include audio for this project again, I focus really hard on developing my game and it’s mechanics in class while I spend ages at home creating the pretty visuals, leaving sound as a forgotten aspect. In future, I need to use sounds from royalty free sound sites, quickly go on field trips with my phone to record more sounds, and edit them with Adobe Audition or Audacity.

What to do next time: Next time I make a game, I would have most likely done my research looking at lots of new elements and areas of GM: S (like the tutorials from Shaun Spalding), so hopefully I would have expanded my knowledge greatly which should allow me to both create mechanics I made before even faster and probably better, and create mechanics that are new to me.

Conclusion: What I learnt: From this project, I’ve learned of new documents that are necessary, or just helpful to the project, such as beat charts and Gantt Charts. I’ve also developed some more knowledge for digital art in Adobe Photoshop from friends in lesson which got me into viewing tutorials on YouTube. I also need to stick to YouTube for researching code for the time being, later I will start to look at source codes of other games and develop a stronger understanding of their logic.

Favourite Part: My favourite part was watching people playtest my game especially when it was nearly complete. I believe the game is the most important thing about a project like this because it is the fruit of your labour, still all the production documents and drawings are pretty neat to look at but the game is what people are mainly after. I enjoyed seeing how people were amazed when they saw the trees grow when they walked past them, it’s like magic to them but it’s so simple to me because I made it. -I’m usually very critical of my work, so praise helps me appreciate my effort a little.

Most challenging part of the project: The most challenging was the problems in coding that I discussed earlier.

And just to let you know...Zeke is coming back, WOOHOO! [-Just to let you know, Sucker Punch has said the Infamous Second Son is an origin story! So this, is a sequel!-] Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene ALL go to Curdun Cay to break out the conduits in there. It may be possible that you get to continue from Good or Evil but we'll see. Delsin then takes the power from the nearest conduit and their memories reaveals information about Celia and her plans plus as a bonus the new power you get is Glass! But the conduit you got the power from is brutally killed by the military. And Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene all escape from Curdan Cay! So Delsin now has to find Core Relays to master his Glass power. Suddenly, ALL conduits are now running from Curdun Cay while some are fighting the military but then...Something weird happens and ALL military are retrieving and a lot of conduits are running away too. But then, Zeke is there in a helicopter to tell you to get away because the government is going to nuke Curdun Cay! So after he tells them, Delsin and the crew get in the helicopter to go away as fast as possible! ---- Now here are some of the Karmic Choices that would've affect your Karma! Good Karma : Tell ALL conduits to get out and run and to not fight so they can all live! Bad Karma : Tell ALL conduits to fight while some of them escape! --- After that, Zeke explains that he has a plan to make conduits and humans live together in peace. And Zeke has a friend who works in the military and who told him that Curdun Cay was going to be nuked. And his friend also told him that a BIG change was going to happen in New Empire City that was will determine the future of both conduits and the world! That means that the government is rebuilding New Empire City into a 50/50 Futuristic and a 50/50 regular city. BUT, the government is actually rebuilding New Empire City for a purpose...For The First Sons and so that they can continue their work from before. So, New Empire City was built on top of the old New Empire City so that means that The NEW Empire City is a futuristic thriving utopia! But that actually means that the new utopia is heavily secured and monitored. Now...We are introduced to a whole new character! Dr. Adam Powers : Atomic How A Conduit : Activated from the Beast (John White) Before Conduit : Brilliant Scientist After Conduit : Part of the First Sons and government saw him as a opportunity to continue their conduit research Objective : End all conduits or at least make conduits less dangerous Now about the RFI...The RFI was supposed to kill all conduits and cure the plague but because of the incident in Infamous 2, when Zeke grabbed Cole's AMP and smash it. But because of that it didn't kill all conduits. As a side note, conduits have been around since the beginning of time. BTW, the RFI killed conduits but it must have actived conduit positive genes which make people conduits. Plus, in Infamous Second Son in Cole's Legacy, it foretells that the government was able to turn regular people without the conduit genes into conduits! Now, back to the story! So Delsin arrives in New Empire City and it's all peacful and calm. And when the story picks up Delsin and his crew plus Celia and her new Paper D.U.P start to fight the military so that means that New Empire City goes to being a shiny new utopia into a dark gritty version of that city. Sometime soon, the government evacuates the people and after that the government sets up a quarantine zone and yet again people are not able to escape. A few days after, the conduit army is in victory and the government is thinking about nuking the newest Empire City but they can't because the First Son's Lab is in there! So the battlefield is leveled and the First Son's Military begins to show up with soldiers and units with Anti-Conduit weaponry and armor so now they match the stats of conduits! Then Zeke is there with special health upgrades and gives them to Delsin, Fetch, and Eugene so they don't have a hard time fighting the First Son's Military. After that, Zeke is now thinking about fix this conflict in which it has gotten way out of hand! No side is going back down and his dreams of living in a world where conduits and humans can live together but is not very likely at this point so...Also, Zeke gets the hang of Conduits Technology! ---- Now lets talk about Karma and stuff!... The 2 Main Karmic Paths... Good : Join Celia's Army Evil : Join the First Sons But, there are alterations of many karmic choices and more specifically, MORE endings! In general, the way the story is highly affected is as if a certain group of characters die...From all to none. It's your choice...But the old karma system is back! So don't worry about losing one of your best upgrades but there is a level up system so theres that! Also you get bonus upgrades for being all the way evil or all the way good. So now you don't have to worry about losing your good or evil karma upgrades! Also, based on wether the choices you make it may depend on how the characters feel or think about you. But there are choices in the game in which one conduit likes but the other doesn't and, if you choose one that the conduit had but the other conduit didn't have...They may have to fight you...And after the fight, you have a Karmic Choice! Good : Spare Them Evil : Kill Them So yeah...I'd rather spare them than kill them...But that also means the plot could go in many other directions as well as affecting the gameplay and even the story itself. ---- Wohoo! Lets move on to Gameplay! Layers. From top to bottom, there are specifically 5 layers. 1 = REALLY tall skyscrapers 2 = Tall Buildings/Rooftops 3 = Street Level 4 = Below New Empire/ Destroyed Old Empire 5 = Sewers of the Old Empire City So just like Infamous there will Side Missions plus Cops, Criminals, Enemys, and so much more! And as a side note, you'll be able to take back territory for the faction and if you take it all/have it all taken then your faction leader will reward you with. There. Power! Plus even as a Side Mission you'll be able to take back some territory. But there's a down side...It's either Celia's Paper Power or Dr. Adam's Atomic Power. So uh, choose up! Side Missions like the ones in Infamous and Infamous 2, are coming back! Ones that you help others and ones that Fetch help with and Eugene...Side Missions like that, YOU GET THE POINT! Also Audio Logs, Stecip Art, and other things are coming back too! Collectibles like shards and audio logs and stuff like that will be coming back as well! But, something new has been added! Video Logs! And no there not like video. There logs but Delsin can use his Video power to go into them! You basically, get to play through what has happened in the recordings in the past. Jackets! More jacket designs and they come back! More Story Time! Apparently, First Son's have a giant base under the sewer tunnels and has new rebuilt labs plus it even has Kessler's old labs. Delsin goes into the one of the labs and finds out that Cole is alive and to find out that Cole is a puppet master and is controlling Dr. Adam and Celia to get what he wants. After seeing Cole ALIVE, Delsin then takes Coles Powers so now delsin has the power of Electricity! But, he starts to see Cole's flashbacks and how he is alive in that world! Let me explain this in a Timeline! - The Cole in the good ending in Infamous 2 is dead but this is a different Cole! So leat me explain...VERY SIMPLY! - The First Sons are created - In the late 1800s, Richard becomes the leader of the First Sons - Years later, Alden becomes the leader - Eventually, Cole gets his powers because Alden was experimenting on Cole to help build the Ray's Sphere -Soon, Cole marrys Trish and have kids and when the kids are 2-3 years old...ish...The Ray's Sphere is completed - A conduit known as the Beast is activated - The Beast starts destroying humanity and cole and his family run -Eventually, Cole's family is killed by the Beast and a new power from Cole activates...Time Travel! - So Cole goes back in time to when before Alden was the leader of the First Sons and Changes his name to Kessler - So everything before his powers activated has not happend - So Kessler kills Richard and kicks out Alden so he accelerates the development of the Ray's Sphere - So he uses it to give his former self powers so then COLE gets his powers - Infamous starts... - Comics happen... - Infamous 2 happens... - After the events of Infamous 2, Cole joins John meaning Cole turns into the Beast - Cole sets out to activate all conduits and is leading to conduits ruling the world - Eventually, Cole comes across...Delsin Rowe! - Delsin takes Cole's power - Delsin is now a Beast which means that Both Cole and Delsin are now invincible - Karmic Choices of fighting to save humanity or leading the First Sons - After Delsin took his powers Cole's Time Travel power activates so that means Delsin doesn't have the Time Travel power and goes back between when the Comics happen and Infamous 2 events - Everything AFTER the comic events never happened - SO THEN, Evil Cole starts to pull the strings and makes his former self make the good choices and activates the RFI - Eventually, all conduits are activated and get their powers - The D.U.P is set up and First Light happens - And then Second Son happens... - And now...Second Age... - Begins So now Cole has to defeat Delsin in order to properly rule the world and all the conduits in it!

(Movie studios and publishers are notorious for their shady accounting practices, which are designed to pay the writer as little as possible…)

But Then, My Whole World (And My Income) Radically Changed…

The game changing moment was when I learned about “online marketing,” and how people who weren’t even writers were making millions of dollars by selling digital information products over the internet – basically, ebooks which teach people about a topic.

One guy made $20 million selling “dating advice” ebooks to guys.

Another guy made $40 million by selling ebooks that taught women how to get in shape.

So I decided to start selling one of my books through a simple website that I cobbled together…

I knew nothing about marketing, or how to get traffic to my site…and even so, I started making a few sales here and there…

But now, instead of receiving a few pennies per sale from a book publisher, I was keeping ALL of the dough.

And instead of spending 6-8 months slaving away on a screenplay (which might never get sold or turned into a movie), or a book (which I might never see another dollar from, once it reached book stores), I could release whatever I wrote immediately...
