cw: arranged marriage, fluff, neglect at the beginning, ratio falling hard, pining, ratio being jealous of aventurine, unedited bc i wrote this with my heart not my brain
my brain has been thinking about an arranged marriage fic with dr. ratio...
he isn't kind to you at first, less than happy to share a life with a mere acquaintance. he's heard about you before in passing, noting your achievements with a grain of salt because nothing about you particularly mattered to him, irrelevant against the mass of scrolls and books he needs to read.
you don't really disturb his normal routine too much. you move in to his estate with a fair share of your belongings, but none of them crowd his house too much. you have your own room, pristine guest room unearthed by your artistic touch.
aside from dinners, you don't get to see each other too much. he starts his mornings early, getting up at the crack of dawn to exercise and start his day with a hearty meal. you wake up later, partaking in a slow morning, and if you glanced out the window, you might be able to see your husband running laps around the expanse of his gardens.
you admire his dedication and routine, it's fascinating to live beside a genius. everyday, the chest table that sits in the living room changes, the black and white pieces never remaining where you last recalled. the size of his blackboard is impressive, and yet too small to fit all of the formulas his brain remembers, hands effortlessly dancing along the surface to scratch number after number.
a frequent order of his estate is chalk. a new pile is delivered every three days, and he goes through them without fail every time.
during dinner, he tries to spare some conversation with you. you don't tell him too much about your day, not wanting to bore him with your menial chores. he's only half-listening either way, so you'll feign understanding about his work when he explains what he's up to.
ratio is not an attentive husband, but he doesn't mistreat you, either. he allows you to spend his assets without too much care, doesn't police your everyday tasks, and also doesn't bat an eye at other men or women. his pursuit of intelligence is important, and your wellbeing would not come in between that.
your monotonous, distant routine changes one autumn dusk. you're perched in the front yard with an easel set up before you, the sky in front of you now a blend of pink-purple hues. he returns home earlier than you expected, carriage stopping at the front of his estate, and he witnesses you in your tranquil state.
the paint strokes on the canvas before you are skilled, and show years of dedication to the craft. you're so invested in the piece before you, that you don't even hear him approaching until he calls your name.
"the night turns colder with each minute. shouldn't you come inside before you fall ill?" the scholar greets, and you're snapped out of your creative reverie, looking over at him.
"oh, i had not realised. let me clean up here, first." you take your canvas off the easel, but to your surprise, your spouse kneels down to organise your oil paints back into their box.
"make haste, then," he urges.
during dinner, he can't help but be curious over your hobby, the stubborn splotches of paint clinging to your hands visible to him. that night, you engage in uninterrupted conversation, and discover that he's an artist himself- a sculptor. it calms him, and all the statues reside in a removed room, adjacent to his study.
despite your years of matrimony, you had never once dared enter his study, but the design is so fittingly him. it is organised (well, as organised a genius can be), with shelves and shelves filled with books, discarded scrolls lay around the room, but even then, his taste for greco-roman aesthetics are seen. roman dorics act like stands for little plants, and his many certificates are displayed, along with other achievements.
(his study is overwhelmingly filled with them. though you knew of the merit of the man you were arranged to be married to, you had never known just how expansive the list is. perhaps, that only made him more intimidating to you, standing beside a genius does not feel so light to say anymore.)
he shows you his sculptures, and though many of them are... self portraits... the likeness is disgustingly accurate. it was as if he had casted himself in plaster and displayed it proudly. you wonder how long he must have stared in the mirror to perfect their appearance.
but, there are also various other formidable statues. some of people you recognise. you compliment his skill and don't get to see the blush that spreads along his cheeks.
it seems that you've chipped a way into his heart, because between brushstrokes and chiselled marble, he falls in love with you.
ratio knows he didn't start off being the best husband, but he tries to now, and begins by being present. asks you to dine together where possible, listens when you're talking about your day, and the two of you can be seen venturing downtown together; an unbelievable sight for those who believed that ratio was romantically inept.
perhaps, an even more unbelievable sight, was the soft smile on his face that glanced at you very adoringly, and how you remained unaware of his affections.
and, maybe a jealous veritas ratio is just as unbelievable.
he is practically glaring daggers at the side of a certain blond's head. ratio has never been fond of the scheming businessman, aventurine, and is even less so of the fact that you seem so close to him, more than you are with your own husband. you're speaking with him like how one would with old friends, a peaceful visit to the markets turned sour by his presence.
when you finally, finally, finally, bid farewell to aventurine, who gave ratio a look that signified he was up to no good, your husband held your hand in his gloved one with an unforgiving grip. his mood is dampened for the remainder of the day, and is only made better when you enquire about his sudden glumness, visiting his office to see if he was alright.
you leave him with a kiss on the crown of his head, and a whisper of 'goodnight', before retreating to your chambers, and the only thought that circulates in his head for the rest of the night is you, and how he's going to sweep you off your feet.

YANDERE! RE2 LEON KENNEDY X READER
WARNINGS: stalking, sub leon, ooc leon, slightly nsfw but not smut, leon is a creepy masochist, kidnapping, no use of y/n or name, gender neutral reader, not proofread bc it's 2 am for me rn
SUMMARY: you were never very close to leon, but you harbored some feelings for him. but your entire view on him changes when you get invited to his place and you find out how he truly feels about you...
A/N: remember when i used to be a havik account? good times. also it's been a hot minute since i played re2 so if it's ooc i apologize.
Tumblr media
leon thought you looked so pretty in your sleep. you looked completely peaceful and unbothered. your bedsheets covered your entire body except for your ethereal face, which he could stare at all day. the moon provided a dim glow through your window, giving leon a clear view of your entire bedroom while you slept. sure it may be creepy or a bit stalker-ish of leon to watch you sleep, but he couldn't help it! you were just so irresistible. if only you knew how much he loved you, and how he was capable of protecting and providing for you. he has the potential to be the best boyfriend to you. but you didn't even know him that well, and he was fully aware of that fact. so that's why he suddenly got an idea while he watched you sleep that night. it was a brilliant idea. he could invite you to his place and gain your trust! leon didn't want to waste any time, so he would immediately ask you first thing in the morning.
when you woke up that morning, you got a call from leon a few minutes after you got out of bed.
"i know it's a bit early in the morning, i hope you weren't sleeping... if so, i'm really sorry. i mean, i didn't know when to call you because i didn't want to bother you but at the same time i just really wanted to ask you something." leon rambled.
"no worries, leon. you could never bother me. besides, i just got out of bed. this was so perfectly timed, it's almost as if you memorized my sleep schedule." you joked.
"oh, yeah, that's crazy. imagine that," leon chuckled nervously. "um, anyway, i was just thinking... would you like to come over to my place later? i just thought that we know each other a little bit, but i'd like to get to know you more, since i think you're pretty cool and stuff, so, uh, yeah..." he trailed off, waiting for an answer.
upon hearing his proposal, you lit up in excitement. you always thought he was cute and wanted to get to know him, but you were too nervous to make the first move. this was a great opportunity.
leon was nervously fiddling with his fingers as he waited for your response. the longer you took to respond, the more his anxiety grew. he could feel the sweat forming on his skin and his chest tighten. what if you weren't interested in him in that way? was he being too forward? were you too busy?
you took a deep breath before you finally responded, mustering up the courage to say something. "i'll visit in a couple hours. i'll see you then, leon." you responded quickly, hanging up the phone and getting ready to see him.
leon's heart almost jumped out of his chest when you finally responded. he dropped his phone and immediately got to work, cleaning his place and hiding the pictures of you sleeping and your old clothes in a box under his couch.
he worked very hard to tidy everything up, wanting it to be perfect for you. only the best for you.
when he finished cleaning, he sat on the floor in front of his door like a puppy waiting for its owner. he patiently waited for you to knock on the door and come in, even though it would be a couple more hours until you arrived.
after a few hours of leon not moving a single inch, you finally arrived. as soon as your knuckles grazed the door to knock, leon swung it open with superhuman speed.
"thanks for coming! i hope the weather wasn't too harsh on you." leon greeted, stepping aside to let you in. he didn't actually know if the weather was harsh or not, he just said the first thing that came to his mind to start a conversation with you.
"thanks... and uh, the weather isn't bad at all. it's just a bit windy." you responded, awkwardly standing by the door.
leon was trying his hardest to act calm, but his heart was racing and he could feel his palms getting sweatier and sweatier. you were standing right next to him! and you were alone together! he could've just died right then and there. instead of watching you through your window, you're right in front of him! instead of breaking into your house and stealing and sniffing your clothes, he can just smell you right by him! he was in heaven.
for a couple hours, you both spent time together by watching movies and chatting, getting to know each other more and more. leon even ordered dinner for you both, and somehow he got your favorite food, and he claimed it was just intuition. it didn't even feel like hours had passed, since you were both enjoying yourselves.
"so, uh, do you like this movie?" leon awkwardly spoke up, as you both sat on the couch in front of his tv. you simply smiled and nodded, too tired to respond. it was a random film that you weren't familiar with, and you watched it in silence next to him. you were both clearly tired after that long day, but leon didn't want you to leave just yet. so he started awkwardly starting new conversations or asking you questions, hoping to keep your attention on him. he loved the amount of attention you already gave him that day, and he was still giddy that you agreed to visit him in the first place. all he needs to stay happy is for you to look at him. but you were literally sitting on his couch and spending time with him, and it just made him so overwhelmed with joy. it gave him hope that you could work as a couple someday, and you would never know about his unorthodox antics to get to this point.
or at least that's what he thought.
at some point, leon excused himself to the restroom and left you boredly swinging your legs back and forth on the couch. but you felt your leg kick something hard underneath the couch. when you decided to investigate, you found a hidden box. curious as to why it was hidden, you decided to open it and look inside.
big mistake.
you found some old clothes and underwear that you thought you lost, pieces of your hair, various pictures of you sleeping, a few grocery lists and paperwork that you thought you threw away, and even pages ripped out of leon's journal describing his dark fantasies of you. some of it had some mysterious white stains on it. it was disgusting, and it made you sick to look through it. you thought leon was just a cute sweetheart, but it turned out he was a stalker and a creep. you were so shocked, that you didn't know what to do. should you run? call someone? but it was unsafe, because he clearly knew your address and a lot of your personal information. you had no idea what to do, so you stayed frozen in shock.
when leon returned, he saw the horrified look on your face and saw the box in your hands. his heart dropped. you knew his secret.
"shit. oh my god, uh, it's not what you think. i swear, i just, uh, fuck..." leon stammered, dropping down to his knees in shame.
"what the fuck is this? how long have you been stalking me, you fucking creep?" you yelled, standing over his shaking form.
"haah.. i... uh.." leon seemed to be breathing weirdly, and you weren't sure if it was out of anxiety or pleasure.
"and this," you picked up one of the pages from his journal and waved it in front of his face. "what the fuck is this? you are so fucked up... are you in love with me or something? or is it just some weird ass sexual obsession?"
"i.. i do love you! of course i do! this isn't how i wanted you to find out, but i really do love you! please don't take it the wrong way. i don't want to hurt you, i just want to be with you. i want to feel you and- and spend every waking moment of my life with you.. please don't hate me." leon begged, grasping onto your leg pathetically.
"you're sick in the head. and you're nothing but a pathetic stalker." you scoffed. all the trust and affection you had for him went out the window after you opened that box. there was no way he can get your trust back. hell, you were willing to cut contact with him and move to another country at that point.
"fuck... okay, maybe i am.. but, uh... shit." leon struggled to get his words out, as he felt aroused by your degradation. he never thought it would feel so good to have you yell at him. he could barely even speak, it just felt euphoric for you to scold him for his actions. you expected him to panic, but he seemed to have mixed feelings about the situation. he was still horrified that you discovered his dirty secret, but he had stars in his eyes the more you screamed at him.
"oh my god... you're a masochistic freak, huh? you like it when i yell at you? god, you're so fucked up." you spat, grabbing his collar and lifting him up to your level.
leon whimpered at the sudden contact, not responding to your degredation and simply squirming at your touch.
you sighed. "are you going to explain yourself? or are you just going to keep babbling nonsense?"
after getting no response, you dropped him and started to grab your things and leave.
"i.. i love you so much!" leon blurted out. "please don't leave! i promise, i can make it up to you! i'll do whatever you want! i can uh... i can provide for you! you won't have to lift a single finger for the rest of your life! and uh... i can cook and clean! sort of. i'll learn how to take care of you. i'll show you that i can be a good boyfriend if you let me! please, just love me! i did all these things for you and i promise i will stop if you want me to! please, don't leave."
leon stood in front of the door and desperately held you in place, not wanting to let you leave.
if you chose to stay, leon would be overjoyed. he would keep his promise and make it up to you, spending the rest of his life protecting you from harm and doing anything to keep you happy. your well-being is his number one priority, he'd make himself look like a fool if it meant getting a smile out of you. just let him love you. you don't need to give him anything in return!
if you chose to leave, leon would be a sobbing, sulking mess for about an hour or two before he decided on what to do. he still had all of your information. he knew pretty much everything about you. he would probably do something to force you into being with him, such as faking your death and kidnapping you. you have nobody else now. you have to be with leon now. he is the only one that still loves you and will keep you happy. even if you're mad at him now, he has hope that someday you will warm up to him and be willing to have a relationship with him. he'll wait patiently for that day to come.

Warnings: Kissing, short?
Leah Williamson x Reader:
Title: Two Weeks To Love
MasterList
Leah Williamson slouched into her seat at the coffee shop, her smirk as self-assured as ever. The late-afternoon sun poured through the windows, highlighting her sharp features and the cocky gleam in her blue eyes. You, seated across from her, were doing your best to focus on your latte rather than the ridiculous proposition she had just thrown at you.
“Say that again,” you said, setting your cup down.
Leah’s grin widened. “I bet I can make you fall in love with me in two weeks.”
A laugh escaped you, loud enough to draw a few curious glances from other patrons. “Leah, you’re ridiculous. What makes you think you could possibly pull that off?”
Leah leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. “Because I know you. Better than anyone else does. And I’m pretty irresistible when I want to be.”
You rolled your eyes. “Your confidence is astounding. But fine. Two weeks. Show me what you’ve got. But when you lose—and you will—you owe me dinner at La Stella.”
“And when I win,” Leah said, extending her hand with a grin, “you admit I’m irresistible and you pay for dinner.”
“Deal,” you said, shaking her hand.
As her fingers lingered just a little too long against yours, you couldn’t help but wonder if you’d just made a terrible mistake.
The first morning of the bet, you were greeted by a soft knock on your apartment door. Groaning, you shuffled to the entrance in your pajamas, only to find Leah standing there with a bouquet of your favorite flowers.
“Morning,” she said, her tone far too cheerful for such an early hour.
You blinked at her. “Flowers? Really? You’re starting with clichés?”
Leah leaned against the doorframe, unfazed. “It’s only a cliché if it doesn’t work. And judging by the fact that you haven’t slammed the door in my face, I’d say it’s working.”
You rolled your eyes, taking the bouquet from her. “Thanks, I guess. But this doesn’t mean anything.”
Leah smirked. “We’ll see about that.”
By the fifth day, Leah’s charm offensive was impossible to ignore. She texted you every morning with a cheerful “Good morning, beautiful” and ended each night with a thoughtful message that always left you smiling.
That evening, you found yourself at her place for a movie night. It had started innocently enough, with popcorn and a debate over what to watch. But as the movie played, you became acutely aware of how close she was sitting.
When Leah reached over to tuck a strand of hair behind your ear, her fingers grazing your skin, your breath caught.
“Am I making you nervous?” she teased, her voice low.
“Of course not,” you lied, your heart racing.
Leah’s smile softened as she leaned in closer, her gaze dropping to your lips. “Tell me to stop,” she whispered.
You didn’t.
Her lips met yours in a kiss that was soft and slow, yet it sent sparks shooting through your entire body. When she finally pulled back, her eyes searched yours.
“Still think you’re going to win this bet?” she murmured, her voice laced with confidence.
You swallowed hard, your mind spinning. “One kiss doesn’t mean anything,” you managed to say, though even you didn’t believe it.
Leah smirked. “Sure it doesn’t.”
On the seventh day, Leah took you to a rooftop overlooking the city. The sky was painted in hues of pink and orange as the sun set, the buildings glowing in the golden light.
“This is beautiful,” you said, leaning against the railing.
Leah stood beside you, her gaze fixed on your face rather than the view. “It’s nothing compared to you.”
You rolled your eyes, though you couldn’t stop the warmth spreading through your chest. “Do you ever stop with the cheesy lines?”
“Not when they work,” Leah said with a grin.
The air between you grew heavier as silence fell. Leah hesitated for a moment before reaching out to brush her fingers against yours.
“I brought you here because this place means a lot to me,” she said quietly. “And so do you.”
Your breath hitched at her words, your heart thudding in your chest. Without thinking, you turned to face her fully. Leah’s eyes searched yours, and before you could talk yourself out of it, you leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss.
This one was different—deeper, more purposeful. When you finally pulled away, Leah’s grin was soft but triumphant.
“Does that mean I’m winning?” she teased.
You laughed, shaking your head. “Don’t push your luck.”
By day ten, Leah’s relentless charm had worn down your defenses. Every small gesture—from the way she remembered your favorite snacks to how she always made time for you—felt entirely too genuine.
One night, as you walked home together after dinner, she slipped her hand into yours.
“You’re quieter than usual,” she said, glancing at you. “What’s on your mind?”
You hesitated, your emotions swirling. “You’re… different than I thought you’d be during this bet,” you admitted.
Leah raised an eyebrow. “Different how?”
“More real,” you said softly.
She stopped walking, turning to face you. “That’s because it is real,” she said, her voice steady. “It always has been.”
Your heart skipped a beat, and for a moment, you forgot how to breathe.
The final day arrived, and Leah took you to the same rooftop where she had first opened up to you. The city lights twinkled below, the cool night air wrapping around you like a blanket.
“So,” Leah said, leaning against the railing, “two weeks are up. Did I win?”
You turned to her, your chest tightening. This was it—the moment of truth.
“You’re impossible,” you said, shaking your head. “I fought it so hard, but… you won, Leah. You didn’t just win the bet. You won me.”
For a moment, Leah stared at you, her expression unreadable. Then she broke into a grin so wide it made your heart ache.
“Finally,” she said, stepping closer. “For the record, I’ve been in love with you long before this stupid bet.”
You laughed, tears pricking your eyes. “You’re infuriating, you know that?”
Leah cupped your face in her hands, her smile softening. “Yeah,” she said, “but you love me anyway.”
She kissed you then, slow and tender, as if she had all the time in the world. And in that moment, you realized she did—because she had you.
The bet might have started as a game, but what it brought you was far more real than anything you could have imagined.
Sitting on Leah’s couch weeks later, her arms wrapped around you as you laughed at one of her bad jokes, you knew one thing for certain: two weeks was all it took for her to change everything.
And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

«Heart On The Window» Cho Hyun-ju x Male!Reader Part 1?
Tumblr media
Cho Hyun-ju x Male reader!
Summary: Y/N has always had a crush on her neighbor across the street, Hyun-ju. He has never had the courage to speak a word to her. Until one day they meet again in the most unexpected place.
«English is not my first language and I'm sorry if I get some words wrong» 😔🤍
The sound of the alarm clock early in the morning woke Y/N from a deep sleep. When he opened his eyes, he felt an empty feeling in his chest, like an inexplicable nostalgia.
He got out of bed, got dressed, and put the finishing touches on his uniform. However, the sky was overcast and the weather seemed as gloomy as his emotions.
Just as he was about to leave the house, something caught his attention: the neighbor across the street was leaving her apartment. It was Cho Hyun-ju.
Although they had barely ever spoken, Y/N always saw Hyun-ju from her door or sometimes they passed each other in the elevator, every day at the same time. His gaze would linger on her and his heart would race slightly.
But he never found the courage to approach her and talk to her... He didn't think he was someone handsome, someone who could catch someone's attention because of his beauty. He just wanted to catch someone's attention and that someone was only Hyun-ju.
That morning, Hyun-ju seemed to be taking longer than usual. Her gaze was lost, as if something was tormenting her. Y/N watched her from afar, growing increasingly worried. What could be tormenting this beautiful girl?.
He gathered his courage and approached her cautiously. “Oh, hello Hyun-ju…” He greeted her in a soft tone with a shy smile. Trying to feign confidence, him nervously grabbed the straps of his backpack as he stood beside her to wait for the elevator as well.
Hyun-ju turned around upon hearing his voice. She looked a little surprised to see the Y/N greeting her. She smiled slightly, but it was clear that she was distracted from something else.
“Hello…” She replied in a soft tone, and returned her gaze to her phone in hand.
"What a busy day, huh?" Him asked timidly. But he mentally scolded himself for the somewhat silly question.
It was obvious that he was having a busy day but he didn't know what to ask anymore, the words wouldn't come out. And he let go of the straps of his backpack to play with his hands, it was a hint of nervousness that he usually had.
And he tried to start a conversation but he was probably being stupid.
How could he not be when the pretty woman was by his side and made his heart beat faster with just her presence.
Hyun-ju sighed deeply. Her seemed a little exhausted and distracted. “Yeah, too much…” She said, her gaze fixed on her phone.
She was short on time and the elevator was about to arrive, so she was aware that the reader was trying to be nice.
Seeing her, he tried to lighten the mood a bit and maybe make her feel comfortable.
“I understand… as my grandmother used to say, after the storm there’s a rainbow right around the corner.” He said jokingly and laughed softly as he looked at her.
Him was trying to take the awkwardness out of the conversation, but he was probably being a weird jerk. If she saw him, his grandmother would surely scold him for how silly he was acting.
Hyun-ju laughed softly, her expression relaxing a little at Y/N joke. "I hope so," she replied with a small sigh.
The elevator arrived, and the doors opened in front of them.
The two of them entered the elevator in silence. It was the opportune moment to continue talking, or to stay quiet and keep their distance.
After a silence, I turned around to look at her and admire her at the same time.
That was the effect Cho Hyun-ju had on him.
"You know... ehh... I know we don't know each other very well but if you need help with something... you can knock on my door, you know... between neighbors we help each other." He joked the last bit and fell down a few seconds later.
*You're acting like a weirdo, react*
He told himself mentally and looked back in front of him. He had surely made Hyun-ju uncomfortable and maybe ruined it with a few words.
Hyun-ju seemed a little surprised by Reader's offer, but soon sounded grateful. "Thank you," she replied softly, as her gaze met his. And she gave him a gentle smile.
At that moment, Y/N could see that beautiful sparkle in his eyes. And she almost fell over if it weren't for the fact that he was gathering strength to maintain the composure of a love-struck fool.
It was the first time she had conversed with him seriously, and his presence had already lightened her mood a little.
The elevator was close to reaching the lobby and the door was about to open.
They both disconnected their conversation and headed to the lobby of the building. As they headed towards the door of the place, silence filled the space again.
Would he have the courage to say something else to her? The moment was still there, waiting for a word, a question, a gesture, an acknowledgement of the other's presence.
It was his chance to invite her to eat something or something she liked to do. He had to muster up the courage and do it. It was just a few words and that was all.
Could he do it or not?.
Because everything seemed to be so difficult for him.
Without further ado, his steps stopped at the door of the small hall and he looked at Hyun-ju.
Before he could say anything else, her words simply played a trick on him.
"Goodbye Hyun-ju..." He reluctantly said goodbye to her.
Hyun-ju stopped at the sound of his farewell and turned to look at him.
His gaze finally connected with Y/N's, and a sort of sense of recognition flashed across his expression.
"Bye, Y/N. See you later." She said as he gave her a small smile.
Though there weren't many words, that brief exchange of goodbyes seemed to have dissipated some of the tension of the moment.
The connection felt brief, but meaningful...
As Y/N walked away, the feeling of sadness and self-loathing settled in his chest.
He knew he was a fool for not being able to communicate with Hyun-ju properly, for not having the courage to get closer to her.
What would have happened if he took more of a risk?.
Doubt flooded his mind, and the weight of the lost opportunity became more visible with each step he took away from the building.
But only time would tell, he just had to gather more courage and try to start more conversations so she could get to know him better and feel comfortable talking to each other.
I had to keep trying.

minho falls in love with you four times a year.
minho falls in love with you in the spring, over blooming cherry blossoms and vibrant daffodils that greet you on your weekly sunset walk. over the feeling of your fingers intertwined with his own without soft fluffy gloves getting in the way, now that it's finally warm enough to retire that extra layer of protection for the season. over the sun coming out of hibernation and filling your days with golden light, falling upon your face and casting you in a magical hue. over the remnants of winter that still leave behind a palpable chill in the air early in the morning or late in the night, that has you reaching out for the comfort of his warmth. over your delighted smile when he brings home a bouquet of tulips after a long day at work. over your glassy eyes, reddened nose and flushed cheeks as he takes care of you when the seasonal allergies kick in.
minho falls in love with you in the summer, over picnics in the park where you both lay on blue gingham picnic blankets, your head on his chest, as you watch the clouds overhead drift peacefully. over watermelon gelatos passed between teasing lips, the confectionary melting too quickly for your liking under the blazing sunlight. over spontaneous drives to the beach even though neither of you can swim, but you go just for fun, just to build sand sculptures in the shape of your cat babies and stand on the edge of the water to splash at each other. over long naps on the couch on days where you're too lazy to venture into the outside heat, preferring to stay cuddled up together under the air conditioner with niki playing in the background.
minho falls in love with you in fall, over shared slices of pumpkin pie as you watch the leaves turn yellow and red right outside your window. over the adorable way you hide your face behind your hands on nights where he puts on a horror movie because he insists on honoring the halloween spirit. over your off-key rendition of taylor swift's all too well (the 10-minute version) for most of the season because you adamantly claim that it's autumn's official anthem. over weekends spent attached at the hip, baking sugar cookies for hours on end. over your crestfallen pout as you take note of how the days keep getting shorter and shorter, already missing warm sunny weeks with all your heart.
minho falls in love with you in winter, over matching scarves and beanies, even though he often has to carry them for you because you have a bad habit of forgetting them before you go out. over the first snow of the season because they say that if you witness the first snowfall with the person you love, then you will stay together for a long, long time. over sweet cuddles in bed as a bad christmas movie plays on tv, and you fall asleep on his shoulder about half an hour into the movie despite being the one to select the movie in the first place. over your return from a shopping spree with your girlfriends with nothing for yourself but everything for soondoongdori, from christmas themed clothes to treats and toys.
but then again, maybe it's not entirely accurate to say that minho falls in love you merely four times a year. if he wants to be precise, then he would say that he falls for you anew every morning he wakes up and sees you asleep in his arms like a delicate miracle granted by a star he once used to wish upon. if he wants to get technical, then he falls in love with you with every smile that you send his way, which is a terribly sappy thing for him to admit but it doesn't make the statement any less true.
minho loves you every day of every week, of every month, of every year. he's loved you before he even met you, when you were just a romanticized idea in his head and hadn't yet walked into his life like the angel he was always meant to find. he loves you every minute of every hour; there isn't a second where you're not on his mind, not a single beat of his heart that doesn't spell out your name. he loves you throughout the seasons and a million times in between.

Barbie 7:14PM I miss you ☹️
Haechan’s phone buzzes with your incoming text as soon as he steps into the hotel room, immediately making him grin at the screen despite his exhaustion.
After a long day of tedious networking—with people he isn’t particularly interested in beyond business—he’d managed to escape Johnny’s invitation for dinner in a fancy restaurant in the city to return to the hotel instead, planning to crash your morning with a video call to see you.
You’ve always joked that he had both impeccable and terrible timing, though today his ability seems to be serving you.
7:15PM Oh my 😀😀😀😀😀 Is my baby missing me???? You aren’t supposed to be up yet What time is it over there now?
Barbie 7:15PM It’s 5am here Are you at the hotel already?
7:16PM Just got to my room Are you okay? Why are you up so early?? Don’t you have today off?
Barbie 7:16PM I do I just woke up and couldn’t sleep anymore Can I see you please? I’ll facetime
7:16PM My baby wants to see me??? 😀😀
The text’s marking read when a picture of you takes over the screen, a smile tugging at his mouth as Haechan accepts your call, sinking into an armchair by the window of his room.
As your face appears, he can’t help chuckling fondly at the sight—bundled up in a blanket, your sleepy eyes immediately beam upon seeing him. The room’s still dark save from the dim light from a lampshade, his heart skipping with a few familiar details around you.
“Hi, Barbie,” he greets animatedly, curious eyes squinting at the screen. “Are you at my apartment?”
A hint of bashfulness takes over your face as you smile back, nodding at him. “Yeah.”
“You look so cozy,” Haechan teases, smiling mischievously upon noticing the extra pillows around his bed. “Are you missing me so badly that you need to sleep at my place?”
With a huff that sounds more playful than anything, you shoot him an eye-roll. “You’re so annoying,” you answer, the quiet voice lacking the bite from your words. “Did you have a long day? You look a little tired.”
“You know I hate this kind of thing.” Haechan exhales a half-hearted laugh, running a hand through his hair. “If it wasn’t for Johnny, I’d be just around talking to the artists instead.”
You hum softly, smiling at his complaint. “Sounds like you.”
As he brings the phone closer to his face, Haechan raises a curious eyebrow at you, back to his playful self. “So… how’s everything over there? Are you taking good care of my plants?”
“They should be my plants since they’re only still alive because of me,” you argue, a smile soon following your half-hearted huff. “Alia’s still going crazy over the wedding plans, your mom asked me out for lunch earlier this week, work’s still work… same as always.”
“Oh, yeah, I saw the pictures of your date with Mrs. Lee,” he jokes, chuckling as you confusedly stare at him for a second. “She told me you were going out together, so I asked her for pictures. I’ll tell you that she did not disappoint me.”
“Oh my God, is that why she took so many pictures of me?” You frown, visibly surprised at the twist. “It felt like I was shooting for a magazine or something.”
Haechan grins, offering you a coy wink. “I made a new album in my gallery just for them.”
“You haven’t told me how’s the hotel yet,” you start, purposefully disregarding him with a hint of a smile on your face. “Is the city still the same as you remember?”
“The hotel is fine, just boring,” he complains, taking a glance around the place as if to suddenly find anything interesting. “I haven’t seen much of the city, though. My mom probably has an entire schedule planned to go as soon as she lands.”
“That’s so cute,” you reply, adjusting under the blankets with a soft laugh. “She does seem really excited about it. She couldn’t stop talking about the last time you guys visited your family at our lunch date.”
The conversation pauses for a second as Haechan lets himself watch you, holding back a smile at the little peek at your pajamas—a t-shirt that’s been missing from his closet for a good few months. Though as something suddenly moves underneath the blanket, seemingly walking right beside you, his face immediately shifts to a puzzled frown.
Haechan shifts on his seat, eyes squinting for a second time. “Do you have something to tell me, Barbie?”
That’s all it takes for a pair of fluffy ears to slip out, followed by a rather loud protest at the screen before a white and brown-ish cat climbs over you, settling comfortably on your chest as Haechan watches in a mix of bewilderment and adoration.
You glance at the camera for a second, biting your lip. “Surprise?”
“We have a cat?!” he asks dumbfounded, laughing in disbelief as his eyes shift between both of you. “Do we suddenly have a cat now?”
Giggling at his reaction, the cat suddenly meows on your chest, bothered by the movement. “It’s not ours, Hyuckie,” you explain, fingers carefully running through the fluff. “It’s Yangyang’s cat. His name is Coco.”
Haechan huffs playfully, shaking his head. “Well, it’s not Yangyang’s anymore.”
Moving the camera to a better angle, you snort when noticing him taking a screenshot. “He had a family emergency but his roommates aren’t in town, so he texted me asking if I could take Coco for the weekend.”
With a hum, Haechan furrows his eyebrows at the cat through the screen. “So Coco will spend the entire weekend with you at my place?” he asks, suddenly letting out a dramatic sigh at your nod. “It’s really tough seeing someone else living your dream.”
“Stop,” you counter, holding back a laugh at his antics. “Have you eaten dinner yet?”
“No.” He shakes his head, looking around for the hotel’s menu. “I’ll order some if you stay with me.”
As both of you exchange idle chit-chat about the trip, Haechan orders his dinner with yours and Coco’s company, soon moving to the table with the phone propped in front of him. With the food’s aroma spreading through the room, a happy groan escapes from his mouth, almost making him forget the attentive audience of two on the other side of the screen.
Amused at the delight on his face, you can’t help chuckling. “Did I make a good choice?”
“You make the greatest choices always, baby,” he says, already between a mouthful when Coco meows again. “Yeah, yeah, you too.”
The silence stretches for a second too long as Haechan finishes the meal, the lively mood of your little comments fading into a quiet, sudden pause. Though neither of you are usually bothered by these moments, something in the way you’re watching him makes Haechan pause.
“Uh-oh, it looks like you’re thinking too much,” he starts, smiling softly despite the tip of worry lacing his voice. “What’s wrong, Barbie?”
You hesitate for a moment, sighing quietly before speaking. “It’s just weird not having you here. I didn’t think it’d feel so… empty.”
As he clutches his chest theatrically, Haechan slumps into the chair with a groan. “Is my baby really missing me?” he taunts, the attempt to draw a laugh out of you succeeding upon your giggle. “You could’ve come with me, I told you I’d sneak you into our meetings.”
More playful than anything, you give him an incredulous glance. “I told you I have a job.”
“That’s just details, Barbie.” He shrugs, rolling his eyes exaggeratedly. “You know Mrs. Lee wouldn’t mind giving you a few days, right?”
“Well, she did ask me why I didn’t go with you…” you confess, the tone of your voice subtly changing to a teasing one. “You probably wouldn’t get any work done with me around, so it’s probably for the best.”
As he stops a protest short at your glare, Haechan nods solemnly instead, feigning defeat. “Ok, fine, maybe you’re right,” he admits, suddenly grinning as realization clicks in his eyes. “Oh, I got some stuff for you, by the way!”
You let out a half-hearted groan, watching fondly as he disappears into the hotel room. “What did I say, Hyuckie?”
“To not get you anything,” Haechan calls aloud, an edge of playful offense laced to his voice. “That’s the lamest thing you’ve ever asked me, baby. I’m not going home to you empty-handed.”
It only takes a moment for him to return to the screen again, leaving you visibly stunned while he juggles a ridiculous number of shopping bags into the frame. The rustling sound makes you laugh, bothering Coco enough that he meows grudgingly, moving to nestle himself against a pillow instead.
“Hyuck, what the hell?” you exclaim, bringing the phone closer as if to get a better look. “How is all of that fitting in your luggage, baby?”
“I haven’t gotten that far yet,” he answers casually, a grin instantly growing on his face upon spotting a specific bag, one of the biggest ones around him. “Oh, you’re gonna love this one—close your eyes for me, hm?”
Raising a suspicious eyebrow, you resist a smile by biting your lips. “Why should I?”
Giving the camera a knowing look, Haechan huffs mischievously, shaking his head at you through the screen. “You’re usually really good at obeying my orders.”
You scoff indignantly, visibly flustered at his words despite the annoyance. “You are with mine too!”
“I’m a good boy,” he agrees nonchalantly, your astonishment earning a smirk out of him. “Come on, Barbie, close them.”
With a small sigh, you oblige, squeezing your eyes shut. “Donghyuck, if you’re playing a prank on me—”
“Shhh, no talking,” Haechan interrupts, eagerly pulling the gifts from the bag before holding them closer to the phone. “Okay, open now!”
A hand immediately flies to your mouth as you gasp, taking in the sight of the two cute bears taking over the screen of your phone—behind Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma, Haechan can’t help laughing at your reaction.
“Oh my God, Hyuckie!” you start, eyes alight as a wide smile grows on your face. “They’re so cute! How’d you know I wanted them?”
He shrugs, though his grin gives away a hint of satisfaction. “I actually listen to my girlfriend like a good boyfriend should do.”
“You are the best,” you mumble, voice softening as a pout forms on your lips. “I love you.”
“You do, don’t you?” Haechan teases instead, ignoring the warmth spreading over his neck by shuffling through the shopping bags again. “You’re gonna love me even more with this one.”
As he holds it out, your jaw immediately drops at the designer name on the bright, startlingly pink bag in his hands. “You got me a Barbie bag?!”
“Obviously,” he says, mockingly serious as he nods solemnly. “I’ll receive my gratifications in the form of kisses and cuddles.”
You giggle, fondly shaking your head at his words. “I’ll kiss you for as long as you want,” you promise, holding the phone closer to your face as Haechan sets the plushies next to him. “They look a little bit like us.”
“They do, don’t they?” Haechan agrees, snorting a laugh with a look at the pair. “Mark said the same thing. He said I should’ve picked out matching outfits for them too.”
“Oh my God, we are absolutely doing that,” you beam, giving him a mock look of determination. “Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma need proper clothes as representatives of our relationship.”
He nods through the screen, visibly amused by your excitement. “Anything for you, baby.”
You chuckle sheepishly at the words, the sound warm and easy despite a subtle mood change as the moment draws for a second too long. There’s a pause as both of you just look at each other through the screen, charged with unspoken feelings.
“So… what’s your plans for tomorrow?” you ask, breaking the quiet with a lighter tone. “More boring meetings?”
“You should’ve come with me,” Haechan grumbles again, wrinkling his nose before leaning closer to the screen, as if to tell you a secret. “There’s still time, baby. Just say the word and I’ll book a flight right now.”
“You’re insane.” You shake your head, laughing for the nth time at how serious he sounds. “As much I’d love to, one of us needs to be the normal person in this relationship.”
Noting the hints of sunlight already slipping through the curtains at his place, Haechan watches you stretch under the blankets, a yawn escaping from your mouth just as he glimpses at the clock on the wall of his hotel room.
“You should take a nap,” he murmurs, smiling as the cat beside you mimics your motion on his pillow. “Coco seems to be filling my spot well, huh?”
“I have a feeling that he’d hate you,” you joke, playfully narrowing your eyes at Coco. “It took a few hours for him to warm up to me after Yangyang left.”
Haechan chuckles, his eyes softening the longer he watches the screen. “Hey, I miss you too, alright?” he says, gently taunting you. “How many more days until I’m back?”
“Ten,” you reply instantly, timidly avoiding his gaze for a second. “Not that I’m counting or anything.”
He grins, tilting his head with a click of his tongue. “Sure you’re not, Barbie.”
“I should let you go,” you sigh, coming off a little reluctant despite your firm nod. “It’s getting late for you and I have to set up Coco’s breakfast soon.”
With a hum, Haechan leans towards the camera with a hand over his ear. “How many more days?”
Despite a half-hearted eye-roll, you sound nothing but sweet as your voice drops to a whisper. “Ten, Hyuckie.”
“That’s right,” he says, his smile softening into something warmer, almost with a reverent touch. “I love you, hm?”
A smile spreads across your face, nodding through the screen one last time. “I love you too.”

BFF so morning fluff with jude (waking up and stuff) nd you are in his hoodie wearing nothing underneath ... then you're in the kitchen making breakfast and he's behind you, running his hands inside his hoodie your wearing to find out you're still wearing nothing underneath and it turns him on (slight smut)
BESTIEEEE!!! "nothing but shorts skirts around the house" ** 🤭🤭 // here's my treat to you!! like always hope you enjoy! 🤍
the rain hitting and tapping the windows woke you abruptly, squinting your eyes and looking around the room, quiet and dark, beside the 6ft man who slept sound asleep next to you. jude had his arm wrapped around your naked body, his chin on top of your head snoring slightly. brows drew in as his lips pursed.
jude's hand twitched pulling you closer to him as if nothing happened. recalls of last night played in your head as you remembered how the long night was filled with shared love and lust. kisses, moans, reassurance, and giggles of 'i love you's". he never failed to make you feel special and wanted.
you scrolled on your phone for a bit, replying to messages and emails, and going through your shopping cart to see what needed to be bought and or returned. it had been a long and hectic 2 weeks for jude, playing football and training, so sleep was exactly what he deserved and needed.
you gently moved his secure arm from you, hearing him groan but then turned over to tuck himself on the other side, not once waking up. jude was a heavy sleeper, and when he slept, he slept. the thunderstorm from outside wouldn't even wake him, let alone if it got worse throughout the day.
after brushing your teeth, you slip into a black hoodie he wore once to a basketball game, no undergarments underneath since the hoodie fits you loose, and is bigger than a dress. it went almost touching your knees, and the sleeves had to be rolled up. you grabbed your phone and headed to the kitchen to brew some coffee.
you yawned, stretching your arms and legs, feeling the cold floor beneath you, as you turned on the kitchen lights. you checked the security cameras to ensure nothing had happened over the night, and made sure every door was locked because you never know. you attempted to blend the coffee quietly, quickly putting it into the filter and began to brew it.
it was still early, and jude had the day off with you. he promised he'd workout and then spend the rest of the day with you, either cuddled up or doing last-minute shopping, although the last time that felt impossible with everyone recognizing him. you laugh at the memory, pulling out the carton of eggs, some veggies to add, and fruit to cut up.
you quietly played music in the background, dicing the fruit first, taking two small bowls out for each of you. you hummed quietly, making sure you wouldn't cut yourself as you cut into the jalapenos, cherry tomatoes, and onions to add to the eggs. jude walked down still asleep and groggy, scratching the side of his head as he approached you.
he wore black plaided pj pants walking shirtless. "hi babe, good morning," you greeted leaning up to meet his kiss in a quick peck. jude groaned feeling you pull away and return back to what you were doing. "coffee just finished, and now I'm making some eggs," you say, feeling jude come behind you and tug you into his chest once again.
"my favorite way," jude cheers, looking at all the veggies spread out in the pan sizzling. "gosh I'm so tired, my legs are killing me from the game yesterday," jude complained, not letting go of you once even when he reached to get the two mugs.
he grabbed some scooby doo cookies, dipped them into the warm drink, and ate them. the two of you conversed about yesterday, and plans for today, agreeing if that the storm got worse you'd stay in and recover here.
you squirmed around your space, giggling, as you felt jude teasingly running up his larger hands on your thighs and sides. his fingertips drawing shapes and lines as he ran them under his hoodie, just to find out you wore nothing underneath. "jude?" you asked, feeling as he went quiet and stopped his movements.
"hmm?"
"are you okay?"
"you're not wearing anything under my hoodie, darling," jude points out, his left hand going all the way up to slightly grab your boob, fingering rolling around the bead feeling it get hard. "i know i just didn't want to waste clothes again since I was-s-s going to s-s-shower after," you stutter gulping the small moan you wanted to let out.
you felt soft and silky, and smelled like vanilla and cherry as jude placed wet kisses all over the nape of your neck, biting and sucking at times. "you're distracting me jude," you whined trying to pull away, "what did you expect? you're wearing my hoodie with nothing underneath angel..."
he grabbed a strawberry, placing it between his lips as you watched his every move. he turned you around, grabbing your face gently with one hand as the other one gripped your ass cheek. his eyes went hooded, observing the way your breathing rapidly changed as he traced the red juice of the sweet fruit all along your top and bottom lip.
jude took a bite placing the half un-eaten piece into your mouth, chewing it softly as he sucked his finger to wipe any extra juice. you looked so torn, licking your lips pondering whether to continue with breakfast or let him take you right then and there. his skin trailed with goosebumps as you dragged your hand all the way up to his throat, gliding it behind his neck.
"you're distracting me," you raised your brow playing with fire growing bold and confident. "and you're making me crazy," jude smugged as he leaned down once again to kiss your jaw, pulse point, and now corners of your lips. "you always drive crazy, whether it's you sitting down and doing work or you wearing my clothes in our home. tell me what did you expect?"
"nothing..." you joke watching him pull back with a "don't play with me" look, "but i do expect you to let me finish breakfast?" you said sweetly, an innocent smile playing at your lips. jude hears you giggling and pleads to put you down as he picks you up and takes you to the couch.
his fingers traced from your sides to between your legs, feeling you already wet as he stroked his fingers around your entrance and throbbing clit. he kissed you profusely, still being able to taste the strawberries on your lips and tongue as they danced together. he gently inserted his fingers into you, your back arching at the sensation. jude smirked, kissing your chin, before sinking his didgets deeper.
"i think i can have my breakfast and workout right now... all at the same time..."

[𝐜𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐞] Chamber x Reader One Shot
Summary: You’re an agent for the Valorant Protocol who deeply values their morning routine of drinking coffee alone. That is, until, the new guy gently disrupts it.
warnings: trauma from missions, insomnia, mostly comfort/fluff though
Tumblr media
You woke up abruptly in a cold sweat, an experience that's common yet seldom talked about within the Valorant protocol. Mission after mission, kill after death, it's bound to take a toll on one's psyche eventually.
Alas, you were up now, which was slightly less upsetting than returning to your dream. You checked your clock; you rarely got enough sleep, but maybe today you've gotten lucky and achieved Sage's recommended 8 hours.
"5:30?" you muttered to yourself, "Typical." With a groggy stretch and yawn, you dragged yourself out of bed. Skye and Deadlock have probably already left for their morning run, and you were sure the other agents wouldn't be up for a few more hours. Might as well just keep your pyjamas on then, surely no one was going to see you anyway.
You got ready for the morning and left your room to find the communal kitchen. It was a bit early for breakfast but you figured it was as good a time as any for an absurdly large mug of coffee.
You put on a pot, plopped down on a nearby chair, and rested your eyes as you listened to the coffee machine slowly do its work, drip by drip. These mornings were quite peaceful, all alone as the sun slowly greeted you through the windows. You were used to working in solitude, so switching to cooperating with Valorant has been quite a struggle. The agents were kind for the most part and you were grateful to be a part of such a caring team, but you still cherished every moment you had to yourself.
Moments later, that time alone was interrupted by footsteps making their way towards you. You let out a sigh of annoyance and opened your eyes to witness a complete stranger wander into the kitchen. They were possibly the most attractive and elegant man you've ever seen, and it admittedly took a moment to stop staring.
"Um," you started, before realizing you were still in your quite revealing pyjamas. You cleared your throat in a meagre attempt to gain your composure, "I... don't believe we've met. You must be the new recruit I've heard about. Chamber, I think it was?"
He was already at the coffee machine, searching  for the biggest mugs he could find. He glanced over to you, admiring you for only a moment before going back to searching the cabinets.
"That's right. It's a pleasure to meet you, chérie." He didn't ask your codename, probably because he's heard about you already. "Do you take anything in your coffee?"
You blushed at the pet name he's assigned to you so casually. Despite the intrusion, it's quite nice having someone make you coffee without you asking.
"Cream and sugar, please." He nodded and silently prepared both coffees before handing you your mug and sitting across from you, and you briefly caught scent of his expensive cologne. You took a sip of your coffee; he prepared it perfectly. You thanked him again and placed the mug down.
"So, Chamber," you started, "What are you doing awake so early?"
"Ah, I'm a weapons designer, you see. Sometimes inspiration strikes, and sleep must have to wait. Not only that, but it's rather hard to sleep comfortably in a place like this, no? I'm much too used to my home back in Paris." You nodded along, but you were only partially paying attention. You were already distracted just by his voice, and you nearly didn't hear his question, "And you? You seem quite tired, chérie, I worry you should be sleeping."
"Oh... I'm a bit of an insomniac is all," you lied, "Today I just got unlucky." In reality, you wanted nothing more than to go back to the days when your dreams weren't plagued with the horrors of the battlefield, but that's a bit heavy for a man you've only just met.
The silence was surprisingly comfortable, only occasionally making small talk but consistently enjoying each other's company. You were both mostly lost in thought, sometimes glancing at the other just to appreciate their beauty. Neither of you had really noticed.
"So," You break the silence. By now your coffee is only half full. "How do you bring your weapons into battle? The protocol has a policy of only buying from our manufacturer." You see his eyes light up at the mention of his passion before summoning a sidearm from the tattoos on his body. He chuckled at your bewildered expression before returning his gun back to his skin.
After a moment to take in what you just saw, you finally responded.
"That's... unique. Um, if you don't mind me asking, just how many of these tattoos do you have?"
"Would you like to come back to my room to see?" He flashed you a devious smile, and you almost choked on your final sip of coffee.
"You're quite the flirt."
"Only for you, chérie."
You rolled your eyes, but your smile didn't waver. "You know how to flatter too. But the others don't trust you, and unfortunately, I'm sure there's good reason for it. It's going to take more than some smooth words to get me into bed, I'm sure you understand." you stood up and took his empty mug before washing them both and putting them away. You were too focussed on the mugs to see the look of frustration on his face. He was a perceptive man, but he didn't know the others thought so poorly of him they felt they had to warn you of his existence.
"I'll see you around, Chamber." You gave him one more smile before leaving to return to your room.
"I look forward to it, chérie."
---
You never would have guessed it, but that brief conversation with the frenchman had changed your morning schedule ever since. For the first time since you've joined the protocol, you truly looked forward to having your alone time interrupted.
You didn't know it, but the reason you've met Chamber so late was because the other agents actively prevented it. You were smart and independent, but your friends simply loved you too much to leave someone like you with someone like him.
Luckily for Chamber, you were both early birds, and no one was awake to keep you two apart during your morning coffee. Maybe he hasn't been the most... transparent man in the past, but he's made it his mission to prove to you he's someone you can trust. It didn't take long for him to fall in love with so much more than just your appearance, and even the others had noticed he'd stopped flirting with everyone except you.
Today, like any other day, he woke up early. Though he didn't need it, he had set an alarm for 5:30 ever since your first morning together to ensure he was able to make you coffee on time.
He put on his typical suit you mentioned you liked, and quietly made his way to the kitchen.
As usual, he'd made you both coffee and had sat down, but for the first time in months, you were nowhere to be seen. He waited as long as he could, but he eventually got worried. Did you find something out about him? Were you scared of him because of it? He shook his head in an attempt to silence such thoughts, but he couldn't even finish his coffee before promptly heading to your room to make sure everything was okay.
He hesitated for a moment before building up the courage to knock.
"Ma Chérie?" His voice was gentle, "Is everything alright?"
No response.
"May I come in?" He asked after a moment. He was hoping you were just sleeping, but you've mentioned your nightmares before and how they're even worse than what most of your coworkers experience. He heard the faintest choked sob from the other side of the door, and took it as permission to enter.
There you were, crying silently on your bed. You were too exhausted to even be embarrassed by your now best friend seeing you like this.
"Oh, chérie... What's the matter? Is there anything I can do?" Chamber cautiously made his way to the bed. He wasn't used to comforting people, as he's never had as close a connection as he had with you. All he knew was that he desperately wanted you to feel better.
"It... It was just another dream. It's nothing." You tried so hard to mask the fear and sadness in your voice, and Chamber saw right through it.
"Can you tell me about it?"
You didn't respond. How could you tell him that his imaginary death is what brought you over the edge? That you've fallen in love with someone so deeply the thought of them leaving is unbearable? Especially when that someone is an attractive millionaire with thousands of potential girlfriends to choose from? The last thing you needed to hear was his smug laugh as you fuelled his ego.
But his ego was the last thing on his mind. More than anything, he just wanted you to feel better. "Please?" He asked, softer this time.
After a while, you finally answered. Your voice was hoarse and you could barely speak. you must have been crying for hours.
"You died. We were on a mission, and I couldn't help you. Sage couldn't save you. You were gone." The tears returned, stronger this time. "I was alone again."
Chamber was shocked. First of all, him? Dead? Impossible, he was simply too good. Second of all, he couldn't believe the mere thought of his death was affecting you like this. He was quite confident in himself, but to him you were magnificent, and he had figured you could never care for him the way he cared for you.
"There's no need to cry, mon amour. I'm here now. You know how safe I am on my missions, I'm not going anywhere." He sat down on your bed and grabbed your hand. You squeezed it tight, thankful for the reassurance. After a minute, he spoke once again.
"I have dreams like this too. About you." your sobs went quiet as you tried to focus on what he was saying. "I wouldn't be able to go another day without you, chérie. But I know how much of a menace you are on the battlefield. And even if things get... complicated during these missions, I will always put you first. I'll die if it means ensuring your safety. That's what I tell myself whenever I have dreams like these." He paused. He's a flirtatious man, but he's never said words like these out loud. He wasn't sure if now was a bad time, but maybe it would at least distract you from your dream.
"I love you too much to ponder you leaving me. It'd be torture." He finished.
Your eyes went wide. You were too stunned to speak. You both stayed like that for a while, you curled up in the fetal position with the now slightly disheveled man sitting beside you, holding your hand.
with a shaky breath, you finally spoke. "Can you please lay with me?"
He was surprised, but happily obliged. he loosened his tie and got under the covers with you, before gently placing an arm around your waist. He treated you like glass, or like you'd disappear if he did anything more.
"I love you too, Vincent." you smiled, and your tears slowly halted as you felt sleepiness take over.
He pulled you ever so slightly closer to him, and a single tear escaped him and found its way to the pillow under his head. He was grateful you were turned away and couldn't see.
Tomorrow, you will both be sent on your next mission. You'll both have to kill. You'll both have to see the person you love more than anything get shot at. You'll have to report back to Brimstone once it's over and pretend to be unaffected by the violence.
But that's the last thing on your mind. Today is the first time in months either of you had stayed in bed past 6 am. Chances are, you'll both wake up hours later, your bodies finally catching up on some much needed rest.
For the first time in months, you won't suffer from nightmares. He won't lay awake, fearing the other agents will finally convince you to avoid him.
The coffee he brewed for the two of you will get cold. For the first time in months, it will sit abandoned in the communal kitchen, for all the agents to see and wonder where you both went. And the two of you couldn't care less.

;; spending the morning together
honey-dyed light slips through the thin drapery over the window as the distant shrunken circle of golden rises to the sky portraying the morning that comes. the birds sing a gentle tune outside, serving as some sort of alarm that wakes him up, eyes fluttering open to the sight of the familiar ceiling, the feeling of warmth beside him.
although the dawn’s early night was never a pleasant welcome to him as it only indicates the things that he has to do and have to do for the remainder of the day, anticipation comes at the mere thought that he’ll get to start and spend it with you—everything becomes a little bit better like a weight on his shoulder has been lifted.
in the stillness and silence of the morning, there you are besides him; his gaze lingers at your sleeping form—tranquility seen on the edges and corners of your being—, eyes deep and swirling with feelings of affection; he doesn’t even know how soft his expression becomes whenever he looks at you until someone would inform him of it. strands of your hair were tangled and messy, some of it obstructing your face as it fell over your forehead, and the feeble light shines itself on your skin, basking you in a warm golden glow. everything feels like scenery, something out of a claude monet painting. how did he ever become so lucky to have someone as lovely and wonderful as you in his life?
the moment doesn’t last forever, however. as if a fleeting one, a groan was heard from you and you stir yourself awake.
“good morning, lovely. did you sleep well?” his voice, tender and filled with affection, pierces through the gentle silence of the room. he presses a small kiss on your forehead as he greets you, brushing the strands of your hair back as he did. you slowly blink your eyes open, the sight of him greeting you and immediately, a small smile graces your lips. “good morning.” you reply and having just woken up, your words came out as a whisper only for him to hear.
“do you want to get out of bed?” you only shook your head as an answer, snuggling closer to him. face buried on the curve of his neck, you inhale his scent—faintly cloying yet pleasant. he laughs shortly, “we can stay in for a little bit more then.”
for him, the thought of waking up with you to the soft glow of morning outweighs every trace of his not-so-morning-person personality; he’s not a morning person but if he gets to spend every morning under this light with you, he wouldn’t mind it.

;; watching everything outside the window
it was just a small thing that you would do together, mostly when one of you is bored. sitting by the window, looking out of it, watching every person that passes by, and creating some sort of story behind them—a not-so-true reason behind the passing strangers’ actions. it’s really just a simple way to pass time and to entertain yourself and you love it, especially when you’re doing it with him.
“do you see that man over there?” you start, referring to the man on the street who seems like in a rush, and his gaze follows the mentioned person. “he’s walking—no, wait, he’s running because he’s on the way to meet someone.”
instead of a mere indulgence in gossip or prying into the affairs of others, it transforms into a serene narrative, delicately unwinding the threads of each moment that passes—people watching, the art of noticing. everything felt like a movie with each of the scenes unfolding before you.
he takes a sip from the cup that he was holding, eyes showing a hint of interest. “perhaps he’s on the way to meet the love of his life.” he chimes, his gaze then darting over at the sight of a woman with their dog. “how about them?”
you hum, “maybe on the way to the vet?”
“sounds like a plausible reason.”
the moment stills, the both of you quietly observing and noticing everything outside—like how the plant displayed outside the window of the shop was a different one compared to yesterday or how the cat across the street always sits and waits on that one spot until an old lady comes to feed them. in essence, yesterday was different to today; in a way that yesterday, there were less people than today or that yesterday, the sun whispered its golden tales to you as to today, it wears a different hue as clouds gather in quiet conversations.
“oh, look there, the cat has a companion.” you say, breaking the hushed moment being shared between you two, tone with a faint of excitement in it as your eyes flickered with the same note. “do you think they’re a couple?”
“they look alike, perhaps siblings.”
“that’s silly, you know a lot of cats look alike.”
and yet, despite all the small shifts and subtle differences painted on his moment before and currently, his yesterday was no different than his today, perhaps it was because you were there with him. many people experience today in a different way and for him, he experienced today with you—and he could only silently hope that it remains that way forever.

;; making plans to spend more time together
there’s just something so intimate in doing things together even if it’s just as mundane as making plans together, to see if one has time for the other on a certain day so that you can have a small date with him or to see if he could accompany you out shopping. perhaps, it is one way of saying that the time you have right now is not enough, never enough, and you can’t wait to see spend time with each other again even if the two of you are right there besides each other currently—a shared anticipation that whispers of the inadequacy of the present moment, always leaving you yearning for more time in each other's company.
“do you want to go out tomorrow morning?” he asks you, his voice gentle like the soft beating of his heart against your ear. you lay besides him while your head is resting on top of his chest and he has his arm encircled around your figure which urges you to nestle into the curve of it; your forms were intertwined with one another in bed, his fingers going from tracing the delicate of your back to playing the strands of your hair, twirling and combing through it.
“to where are we going?” you answer, head tilting up to look at him and his eyes meet yours in that moment, a soft gaze full of adoration for you and only you. he hums, as if going into thought, “there’s a newly opened cafe down the street, do you want to have breakfast there or do you want to have it here instead? we can cook something together. which one sounds more appealing to you?”
he gives you a set of choices, giving you the freedom for your own comfort and desire—something that you greatly appreciate. you’ve contemplated on your decision, taking just a few seconds to do so: “the former.”
“in a cafe?”
“yeah, i feel like going out tomorrow. can we wake up early so that we could, like, take a walk and go to the park?” he doesn’t give it a second thought, nodding and agreeing to what you have asked: “i don’t mind. maybe we can have a picnic there?”
“next time we can.” you answer in which he responded with a hum. silence then settles in the air between you two yet it doesn’t last long as he spoke once more: “can you move closer? it feels like you’re not that close enough for me.” he says, earning a chuckle from you.

He Canceled Hot Girl Summer 🔥
18+mdni series master list
Tumblr media
The night before Aries season…|
You paced back and forth in the hospital room, trying to walk through the discomfort of early labor. Your mom and dad had traveled to see you and be with you during the birth of your son. Your dad, being the man that he was, couldn't stand seeing his baby girl in pain and went to harass the nurses to do something about it (despite your mom saying it was all in God's hands).
You sit down on the bed and groan in frustration. You start crazy laughing. It was only five hours in, and Omari was taking his sweet time. “He's such a drama queen.” You huff, “Of course, his little ass is doing things on his terms, like I'm not sitting here hungry for more than ice.”
Your mom just laughs and shakes her head, “It's the only time he's ever gonna be able to tell you to wait, and you gotta.”
“But if I let him call the shots now, he'll expect to keep calling the shots.” You grumble and rub your back.
“Sweetie?”
“Yeah mom?” You look at her, and your breath hitches at another contraction.
“How are you feeling? I know the last few months you and Ricky haven't been the best.” She says.
She's not really asking how you are right now physically, she's got four kids, she knows. You roll your eyes and look up at the ceiling in thought, “Dad is just being Dad, I don't even care for real.”
“You know he just didn't want this for you, neither of us did.”
“Yeah, but my baby is almost here, and Dad, I suppose, is deciding to pay my rent for the year instead of apologizing to me for what he said.” Your voice wavers slightly at the memory of what was supposed to be the happiest moment of your pregnancy. Telling your parents they were going to be grandparents.
“He's here now, and he wants to make it up to you. Ya know he never stopped, during that six month stretch, never did he stopped asking about you and the baby.” She moves to sit next to you and holds your hand. “Pray on it and forgive him.”
Your eyes close, and you chuckle sadly, “Prayer doesn't fix other people's shitty actions.”
Your mom opens her mouth and closes it multiple times. She's trying to say something, anything profound to smooth over an already tense relationship. Rehabilitate, like most mothers do when their family has been smashed on the rocks.
You hope that Omari doesn't ever have to pray for the strength to forgive you. You'd rather eat hot nails than ever guilt trip him for your actions. You think briefly that having your father here instead of his father may be his villain origin story. So maybe it's already in motion. Who knows?
Another contraction takes hold of you, and you pray for a healthy baby that will never need to be told to pray.
Chapter 4: The thing about video calls…is that you can hang up. 📱
Tumblr media
It's been two weeks of Johnny inserting himself into Omari's life and, by extension, your life, too. On days that you don't work from home, he's at your apartment and helping you by getting Omari ready. You can always hear him speaking that strange language to him, and when you asked Johnny what it was, he told you with a sly smile.
“Gaelic chuilein.” He then went back to softly speaking to Omari as if you're not even there.
And you thought Aaliyah spoiled Omari? (Despite her telling you to send him to glory in the beginning, she comes over, and when she does, her first greeting is “Where's Big Mari? Aunty has a gift for him.” And then she produces another pair of baby Jordans that he will grow out of.) Johnny goes absolutely wild with daddy duties. The man doesn't even like the idea of his mini me being even slightly uncomfortable or upset. He bought a towel warmer just so Omari wouldn't have to leave a warm bath and use a cold towel. He didn't like that Omari's nursery had street facing windows (and the only reason his nursery faced the street is because you and him would people watch on Sunday morning) and while he fussed and complained, he got privacy film so his baby and his woman could see out but people couldn't see in.
He applied that film to all of the windows.
And then he bought you a ring camera doorbell for his peace of mind.
You've heard him on the phone with his mom or one of his three sisters. All of them sounded cheerful about Omari, asking to see his chubby little face and cooing about his features and how he looks like some man named Johnathan (who you correctly assume is his father). His mother, a sweet woman with bright blue eyes and a warm smile, speaks to you each and every time she's on the phone. She'd asked about your diet, admonished you about not eating enough, and then promptly began scolding Johnny about the importance of making sure you ate enough. She explained that a breastfeeding mother needed to eat hearty and healthy and that she was sending him a list of foods for him to get and cook. The whole time, Johnny sat there nodding his head, cheeks flushed pink, and a little bit embarrassed.
You give him credit though, you thought he'd give you bland British Food, but he was making family recipes, and they were surprisingly good.
That's when he asked if he should know your parents. Which led to you calling them up on Skype one Saturday afternoon and your mom answering with a smile.
“Sweetie!” She smiles, “And how are you doing? Are you still having trouble with your depression?” She's asking before you can even shake your head no and switch the subject. “And did you speak with your therapist and psych about getting on new meds?”
Johnny is in the kitchen, Omari strapped to his chest (once again, that baby doesn't sit on his own ass…ever) and he's looking at you with concern. His blue eyes are unreadable, but you spy the clench in his jaw as he quietly listens along. He's warming up a bottle on the stove since Omari is more demanding for being fed more often, and your nipples are too sore to handle his little gummy gnawing. It's clear from the looks he keeps giving you that a conversation will be had.
“Nah, mom. I haven't seen them in the past three weeks since work picked up and stuff.” You lean back on the sofa and situate the laptop on the coffee table.
Your mom frowns and opens her mouth, but then she stops when she hears Omari start crying offscreen. “Where's the baby? Is Autumn with you? Tell that boy that he needs to call more.”
“No, Autumn isn't here…” You take a deep breath, “Omari's father John is here.”
She stares for a moment, “now don't you going pullin' my leg.”
“No really, he is. It's a long and interesting story, but we, and really I mean Aaliyah, found him by accident, and he wants in.” You try to sum it all up neatly, and the way you purse your lips, clearly say you won't be explaining much more.
“Ricky!” Your mom gets up and calls for your father, “Richard Knights!” She's walking offscreen, and you can hear the familiar squeak of the screen door and the distant sound of the lawnmower.
Johnny comes over and sits down. He's got Omari eating. He's a bit tense, and you understand him, meeting Davina over FaceTime was stressful. The woman wasn't the same as happy and go-lucky as Johnny or his other two sisters Fiona and Blair. You chalk it up to her being the eldest daughter as she acts similarly to Aaliyah.
“How does mah hair look?” His free hand messes with the front of his hair. The bottle is leaning against his chest.
“Johnny, you're holding your son, and you are about to meet my father and mother, and you wanna worry about hair?” You smack his hand away and fix it right for him. He leans into your touch and smiles at you. That smile makes your stomach flip, and he knows that it does because the smile becomes a bit devilish.
“Chuilein,” He whispers, his eyes are half lidded, “You smell nice.”
“I smell like milk.” You playfully push him away.
“You smell like a mother, and I'm trying to hold myself back from making Irish twins with you.”
“John really?” You shriek. At this time, both of your parent's are sitting down, and you're praying they didn't hear him. (The angry look on your father's face says otherwise.)
“What did you call me in here for Portia?” Your father says.
“She saying that this is Omari's father.” Portia smiles, “Hi darling, I'm Portia, and this is my husband Richard, but we call him Ricky.”
“You can call me Colonel.” Your father flat out denies Johnny of any familiarity. You can only groan and roll your eyes heavenward.
“Daddy, please don't be difficult.” The sigh you let out can be no less dramatic if you try.
“Nice to meet you, sir, Sergeant John MacTavish.” Johnny sits up straighter, and you are reminded that he is indeed an army soldier. He fell into the roll so easily.
“Hn.” Ricky grunts and nods his head once, “a sergeant? Can't say I'm displeased. Better than what I initially thought only by a margin.” His arms are folded across his chest. He watches from beneath his heavy brows, and his eyes squint just slightly. “Can you say what branch, or are there a bunch of NDAs involved?”
“Daddy would you-”
“A bunch of NDAs, but I do serve in S.A.S. sir.” He answers coolly. Omari starts to whine and cry slightly, and Johnny is immediately tuning into what he wants. He whispers softly to him and asks if he's tired of eating and wants to burp. Your mom is smiling and looks moved. Your father not so much.
“Hm.” Ricky nods his head again, “At least my daughter got pregnant by a decent man. Can't wait to see and learn if you're respectable and responsible.”
“Ricky, be nice.” Portia frowns, “He's here now, and it's a prayer answered that she won't be on her own and Omari will have his father.”
“He's black ops. I know their kind.” He doesn't budge, and he looks down at your mom with a knowing look.
“Anyway-” Portia rolls her eyes, “John, are you planning to come to the States for Omari's baptism?” She smiles at him, “Unless you and my daughter have decided to not get him baptized.”
“ah'm actually a Catholic ma'am.” He sits Omari up after burping him so he can see the screen.
“There's Mimi's little fat man!” Portia squealed, “and you're Catholic? I'm not all that familiar with the Catholic faith, but I suppose a baptism is a baptism for you all, too? Does it matter the denomination?”
“Mom, I still haven't decided if I want to get Omari baptized.” You try gently reminding her. You've all had this conversation multiple times, and you really don't wanna go all the way back home for a baptism.
“You know your GiGi already started picking out fabric for his suit.” Portia sighs.
“She's sewing it? Good lord.” Ricky huffs, “That sewing machine is gonna catch on fire. It's so old.”
“Point is, Sweetie, that we gotta schedule the baptism soon. Don't want that baby coming up on six months without it.” She says.
“We aren' doin’ a baptism.” Johnny says before you even open your mouth, he's still smiling down at Omari and tickling his little toes.
“Huh?” You and your mother speak at the same time.
“Yea, me an’ mah chuilein are more focused on get'n tha family thing right.” He looks up. His eyes are bright, but his smile is more like a tight grimace. Then, without prompting, he leans over and kisses you on the cheek. “‘Sides” He continues, “wouldnae be right to baptize him if his his mum an’ da are livin’ in sin aye?”
“Wait, he's living with you?” Your Dad growls.
You quickly go right into damage control, “No he ain't. It's an expression.”
“Aaww” your mother is crying now, “he's a God-fearing man, I was so worried she'd end up with a heathen.”
“Portia please…” Ricky sighs, “not every man who has religion is God-fearing…” he's trying to console her cries and praises of ‘Won't he do it.”
Johnny is watching the two of them with a raised brow and a crooked grin. He looks at you and nudges your side. “The're quite tha characters.” He whispers to you. He's leaning close to you, the warmth of his breath on the shell of your ear. “An’ donnae think we aren' gonna talk ‘bout yur depression an’ mental health.”
You meet his serious gaze, and those blue eyes aren't as playful and sweet. Instead, they are worried and his lips in a firm line. The moment is tense, and you feel sorta like you're in trouble, but that can't be right. It can't be right because you're a grown woman and who the fuck is he? So before you can even stop yourself the words come out of your mouth.
“John,” you say, the corner of your lip raised a bit, “last time I checked, I'm grown.”
He doesn't say anything, and his grimace only tightens. He won't be backing down on this one. His best mates all have abysmal mental health, and while he's semi adjusted, he too suffers, and he knows it's no joke. Your mom breaks the tension with a wail, and you just now realize the woman has started speaking in tongues.
“Mom, what?” You say watching the woman cry and sob. Some of the words are ‘Thank you Jesus.’
Your father is rubbing her back, “we will talk later, Baby girl…seems your mom has decided to work herself into a frenzy.” He looks at Johnny and hums. “Give him my number, I'd like to chat with him one on one.” And before you can rebuff anything, the screen goes blank.
“Does she do that often?” Johnny asks, clearly confused.
“She's probably in the middle of a spiritual psychosis episode.” You say with a sigh, “also please don't call my father Colonel. He's retired. And on a second note, when you inevitably meet my eldest brother Junior, don't call him anything but Junior.”
“Yur family sounds fun.” He laughed.
“They are…but we all love each other. Also, did you mean what you said about the baptism thing?” You ask.
“Aye, ah did.” He looks back at Omari, who at this point has decided to chew on his shirt and doze. “Alla tha stuff can be handle’ later. Mah own mum an’ sisters ‘ave been hintin’ at a catholic baptism an’ already itchin’ about first communion.”
You watch as he rocks and soothes the baby to sleep. He's really different from what you remembered. He didn't seem like the party boy that drank shots off of you and had dipped his tongue into your navel while you laid on the bar top. He didn't seem like the good fuck that spit in your mouth and made you call him daddy (and boy was that a self fulfilling prophecy). Johnny didn't even seem like some army dude, though he was somewhat paranoid about the windows and the front door and balcony door, even though your place was on the second floor. Right now, he painted the pretty picture as a guy who just wanted to take care of his son, affectionately whispering to him in his mother tongue the tune of some lullaby.
Your phone is out, and you've already snapped a photo.
“Don't post it to your insta.” He says just as you opened the app.
“Why not?” You ask.
“Because…” there is hesitation in him as he looks at you, “yur da mentioned he knows mah type.”
You scoff, “He knows the military, I guess.”
“He specifically ask'd ‘f ah was an NDA soldier or a regular one.”
“Okay and? So you can't talk about your work? How's that a big deal?”
“Chuilein…we gotta talk ‘bout mah job, an’ safety, ‘an we gotta talk ‘bout how I wan’ tae keep ya both safe an’ move ya both somewhere safe.” He is tense now and watching your face for every bit of reaction. Slowly, you understand what he's referring to. Your own father was that type of secretive, never spoke about work unless it was just your mom. It only became worse after he made Colonel. It really didn't relax until he retired, and everyone changed their last names to Knights.
You groan and place your head into your hands. Not only did you fuck a army boy, you fucked a spec ops army boy.
“You have gots to be fucking with me.” You whine.
Because, of course, your baby daddy is a shady war criminal, NDA soldier.

A/N: Plot in this story? Say it ain't so. Lol, IDK how the plot showed up, but it's still comedy and a hint of drama. There won't be any kidnappings or his job coming back to physically harm the reader and Omari. Thank you all for following.

"Mom, mom, it's Christmas day!", Katie shrugging my shoulders to wake me up. A smile painted on my face just at the sight of my kids. The past few months with John have been challenging. He was held captive for six months and was on the brink death just hours before he was hanged. The good news is that Tommy was able to arrange for his release, though under quite tense circumstances. But Tommy still has my anger because he enabled my spouse to rot in prison. That's why the kids, John, and I are here right now. We've moved out of Small Health and into the country in our new house.
"Alright, Katie. I'm awake .. I'm awake. Happy Christmas," I greeted. I looked around the room and saw that John was nowhere to be found—just the kids and I. When I asked Katie where John was, she replied that he was just making breakfast downstairs. "Thank you, love. Let's go join your Dad now, eh?" I kissed her forehead and joined her to come downstairs.
I met John in the kitchen downstairs, breakfast was already placed on the table. He was in the kitchen, I assume he was still making some hot tea. "Happy Christmas, John," He walked toward me and planted a kiss on my cheek as he said, "Good morning and Happy Christmas, love. I made breakfast. Decided not to make you busy on Christmas day." I laughed at his answer. He gave me a cup of warm tea. He grabbed his metallic pouch full of cigarettes and took one. Lighting it before inhaling the toxic air.
"Bit too early for a puff, darling?", I asked, taking a sip of the tea that John made. "Just want to. Besides, it's Christmas day, y'know," he replied, releasing the air from his cigarette. I shrugged off. It was fine with me since I am a smoker as well plus he's right. It's Christmas.
A car caught my eye as it approached our house. I don't know why, but it felt like a familiar car. The Changretta's are still out there, tracking us one by one. Well- I blame my husband for it.
"John? There's a car coming by our house. We're not expecting visitors.." I looked at the window, moving the curtain a bit with my fingers. John smothered the fire and removed his cigarette right away. He reached for his weapon, which was kept under our kitchen counter table's cabinet. He immediately grabbed my arms. I startled at his touch, I asked nervously, "John, what is it?"
"Get the kids and hide. I'll check who it is," he ordered. My hands found his cheeks as I cupped them. My eyes were slowly filling up with water. "How about you John? I already lost you once and I'm not doing it again."
When his head was already in the noose, I thought I had lost him. awaiting the death angel's arrival to welcome him. I want my children to have a father in their lives. I wish to avoid loneliness. Also, I don't want him to be alone.
"You won't and I'll be back. Just go and hide for me. You understand, (y/n)?" he kissed my lips before going outside. I grabbed the kids immediately, telling them to go to the attic first. My son asked, "What happened, mom?"I got on my knee, now the same height level as my son. I brushed his hair with my finger. "It's nothing to worry about, love. Just go and keep your siblings safe in the attic? I'll be there in a while, okay?" My eldest son nodded in agreement, taking his other siblings up to the attic, and keeping them safe.
I followed John outside. Holding my sheriff gun tightly on my dominant arm.I saw him talking to someone. He put his rifle down, making a conversation with the person. I can't help but be curious and follow him. I sighed in relief, turns out it was only Michael. But that doesn't mean that there's going to be bad news.
"Michael, what are you doing here on Christmas day?" I can't help but ask, I was just beside my husband.
"We need to go now." Michael said.
"To whom?" my husband asked.
"To Tommy. He told me to tell you," he responded.
Fuck. Tommy again. What does he fucking want this time. I can't help but simmer in frustration, my mind fucking with annoyance and exhaustion. After what happened last time, I'm not going to risk my loved ones safety again.
"'Tommy told me' What are you, his fucking parrot?" I argued, my brows knitting together in frustration and in anger. "It's the fucking 'Black Hand'! The mafia! The New York fucking mafia!" Michael debated.
John and I's eyes widened.
The New York fucking mafia? Fucking mafia? Well, fuck us.
John noticed a wagon full of hays stopped exactly in front of our house. 3 men appeared wearing suits and a black hat. Guns out, pointing at the three of us.
"John, no!" Michael shouted but John didn't listen.
John cocked his rifle, shooting the three men. Michael and I did the same. One of their men got hit by our bullets and immediately fell. I was so preoccupied with aiming that I failed to notice that Michael and John had already been wounded and were lying on the ground with blood dripping off of them. I gave them a look. My eyes grew wide with terror and shock. I cried out while squeezing them together. With bullets squeezing his leg, John moaned in pain.
My heart stopped instantly. It seemed as though I was the one going to die. Time and gravity seemed to have stopped. My world came to an end. In front of me, time appeared to be motionless and lacking any sensation of reason or meaning.
Bringing back to my senses, I immediately tore my dress and tied it around my husband's leg, applying pressure to his wound. I did the same thing to Michael too, but John's wounds were much worse than his.
2 men stopped shooting and were heading towards my direction. I grabbed my gun, pointing it at them. "Stay where you are or for God knows what, I'll fucking shoot the both of you." I irritably said.
The two of the men can't help but laugh at what I said. Did I make a fucking joke?
"Very funny. You're a Shelby but you are also a woman. A woman can't shoot! I bet that gun isn't even loaded. How funn-" The man suddenly stopped speaking. His body fell to the ground, blood pooling out of his head. His eyes still opened.
I shot him, directly on the head with no mercy, guilt, and remorse after.
"Well, I'm afraid you lost your bet."
The remaining man was about to shoot me but my actions were more faster than his. I shot him multiple times, emptying the bullet chamber of my gun. "For your information, I shoot better than anyone in the Shelby family. I am a former assassin," you said to the dead bodies in front of you.
Before I left, I said,
"And you don't fuck, with the Peaky Fucking Blinders."
I went back to John and Michael, reassuring both of them that they were dead and that I'd call Tommy and an ambulance right away. John looked at me, and he slowly smiled, "Well that was offensive." I chuckled at his response but hey, it was true. I do shoot better than them. "Stay with me, John. And you too Michael. God doesn't want you guys above there yet."
I ran like there was a race, I reached out for the telephone, calling the hospital to get an ambulance. After that, I called Tommy, rage feeling in every part of my body.
"Black hand, the Mafia, the Changretta's. They were here Tommy. They were fucking here. John and Michael have been shot!"
I hung up the phone and gave it an aggressive touch. I groaned and clutched my hair in a fist. I almost lost my husband again. I quickly made my way to the attic and told my kids they could leave since it was now safe. I told them about their father and uncle while simultaneously assuring them that everything would be alright.
Later on, the ambulances came. They took Michael and John and I went too. The kids stayed with the kids. "Thank you, for backing us up, (y/n). I don't know what to do without you." John thanked me, and his hand grabbed my palm, stroking it with his thumb. I kissed his forehead, muttering an 'I love you'.
"I'm always here, John.
Always."

‘Sweet’ came on over the speakers and it reminded me of this..
In Kyoto in September of last year, I decided to go to a bar. I had spent the previous few days in a daze, staying out until early morning, chain-smoking, and drinking more drinks than I could count on my hands. I would wake up late in the afternoon as the sky began to dim. It was hot and humid out, but I liked the feeling. In Kyoto, I didn’t take public transport once. I walked everywhere; the bar was 20-ish minutes away, and it was around 11:30 p.m. when I had decided to go after rallying myself up. The bar was nondescript and inconspicuous; you couldn’t find it just wandering around. There was no signage. I made my way through a dark alley, unsure of the route Google Maps was prompting me to take. I passed by the spot and circled back around a moment later after looking at the reviews. Thankfully, someone had left a review detailing how to locate the place. I took a set of steep, narrow stairs to the second or third level, I don’t remember. The door was ominous, dimly lit with a single light above the frame.
This was the place; I knew it.
I stood in the stairwell taking a few deep breaths to calm my nerves before I quietly pulled open the door. Low music enveloped the space; it was dark, lit only with tea-light candles. I was greeted pleasantly once my figure came into the low light. They guided me through where to put my bag and encouraged me to sit. I took a seat in the corner between the bathroom and the bar. There were 2 open seats next to me, but the corner felt right. There were a few other guests: a man sitting alone who was chatting up the bartender and owner whilst snacking on popcorn. A couple who were partly engaging in the man’s conversation and a group of foreigners in the back; I could hear their rowdiness. I ordered a gin and tonic. The bartender placed a bowl of popcorn in front of me too. I remember being quite hungry; I ended up eating 3 bowls of popcorn and drinking 3 gin and tonics that night. I listened to the man’s conversation; he was talking passionately about anime. He spoke fast, so it was hard to fully understand the conversation, but I tuned in nonetheless. A while later, the man left, and so did the couple. The owner encouraged me to move closer; he said I was too far away and looked a little uncomfortable. I laughed and obliged. We talked for a long while about many things in a mix of Japanese and English. He told me there was a song he loved but didn’t understand; he was going to play it for me and wanted to know if it was a sad song. I nodded and lit up the end of my cigarette. Sweet by Cigarettes After Sex played in a low hum over the speakers. I smiled softly; he asked if I knew it.
I said, ‘Of course, this is a great song. One of my favorites.’ He nodded, striking up his cigarette and blowing the smoke out the open window.
He left me alone for the duration of the song; I think he could tell I just wanted to soak in the moment. I recorded a short voice memo of the track over the speakers and sent an excited text to my dear friend J. When the song ended, he asked if it was sad. I took a moment to answer before I replied, ‘Not inherently. It’s melancholic because of the melody, but it’s a love song. You have good taste.’ He smiled softly at me and asked if the music well suited the space. I enjoyed the music, how it fluidly switched up from something like ‘Sweet’ to minimal techno. He seemed satisfied by my answer. He let me play a few songs for him. Somewhere in our conversation, my hobby of DJing came up, and he asked to hear one of my sets. I told him it was on SoundCloud, and he promised me that he’d figure out how to use the app and play one of my sets in the bar one day. I was a little flustered at the thought and assured him it was nothing special and he shouldn’t bother, but he was adamant and insisted. I stayed a while longer and made small talk with a few other patrons. A man came in alone somewhere in the middle of my conversation with the owner. He had 2 drinks before he left without saying more than 3 words. I tried not to stare too much, but I wanted to talk to him. Something about him intrigued me. Not to mention he was very handsome. I didn’t end up saying anything. I was too nervous and didn’t want to come off weird. What would I even say? How would he react to being approached by a foreign girl who clearly just wanted to be alone with him? I'm not the type to approach a man anyway. He passed me once to go to the restroom, he didn’t even blink in my direction despite my lingering gaze. I took that as a sign not to bother him. He seemed quite content all to himself a few seats away from me.
When it was my turn to leave, the bartender turned on a dim flashlight to ensure I made it out without toppling over. He and the owner waved and shouted after me with well wishes. I thanked them graciously, bowing repeatedly with deep appreciation until the door shut behind me.

Sleigh Bells Ring (Are you Listening?)
❄️❄️Midnight's DCA December Day 16❄️❄️
Another cute fluffy fic for you all, what a surprise amiright? Anywho, really tried to capture the scenery with this one, personally a big fan of cold snowy winters mhm, and also kissing robots-WHAT WHO SAID THAT anywho, enjoy!
Prompt: Oouu bats my little eyelashes,,i have a request!!💥💥 i think going on a sleigh ride with the dca would be fun!!!
Word Count: 1796
❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
Your feet hit the floor with a quiet thump. You stretch, yawning as you check the time on your phone. Still early, but the smell of food cooking downstairs has made you wide awake.
You twist to look outside, seeing a white, rolling landscape looking back at you. You walk over to the window, putting your hand on the cool glass. There's a bit of snow still falling, not as hard as the past few days, but enough.
When you first thought of the idea of returning to your family's old farmhouse all those months ago, you'd been hesitant. Mainly because you weren't sure how the attendant would react to such a stark contrast in environment compared to the Plex, and then your small cramped apartment. Two very different locations in terms of size, noise level, and population.
However, after the devastation that was the fire, and the months of recovery that followed, you think a change of pace would be what was best for all of you. And, you were right.
Both Sun & Moon had seemingly loved every minute of being on the farm, cleaning things up, taking care of the animals and the land, and so on and so forth.
You walk downstairs, the old floorboards creaking with each step, the air getting just a little warmer as you enter the main floor.
You spy Sun in the kitchen cooking breakfast. He turns to you as you enter.
"Good morning, Sunbeam! Did you sleep well?'
You nod, pouring yourself a cup of coffee. "Yeah. You guys been up long?"
"Just a little bit!" Sun walks over, depositing a plate of pancakes, bacon, and other breakfast goodies in front of you. You don't ignore how the food resembles a smiley face, commenting on such. His rays spin at your words.
Mid-bite you speak up. "I'm thinking after we check on the animals we clear out the back of the barn. There's a bunch of stuff back there that either needs fixed up or thrown out already. It'll be an all-day activity, if you're up for it."
"You know how much we love organizing!" Sun claps his hands.
"Great. Let me finish breakfast."
The air nips at your nose, hands in your pocket as you make your way over to the barn. Sun's ahead of you, stopping every so often to examine the snow in detail, or to drop to the ground and make a snow angel. If you weren't trying to stay warm you'd join in, you were having a competition and you were losing severely.
Upon arrival, the animals greet you. Cows mooing, goats bleating, and what have you.
Before you open up the doors a bit further and hit the lights, you watch Moon retrieve a spare carrot from his sleeve, giving it to his—supposedly not favorite—favorite horse, Opal.
"You're spoiling her." You say, unlocking the big doors and starting to push them apart.
Moon scratches the horse's head with both hands while she revels in the attention. "Nonsense. She needs it."
You scoff, but smile as the two continue to admire each other.
You allow all the animals that want to out to roam in their yards for a bit while you and Sun work on cleaning and feeding them. With the help it takes very little time at all. Allowing you the chance to get started on your project in the back.
It's as messy as you always remember it being, your grandpa wasn't a hoarder by any means, just a collector rather. Among the old farm equipment is random knick knacks and quite frankly, junk. No disrespect to the old man, but what use he saw in a five foot tall chicken statue, that was between him and the statue you supposed.
You make good progress however, getting about half of it at least organized in piles before lunch time.
You're about to head back inside and shut the barn up again for a bit when Sun calls you to the very back of the barn.
"What's this, Starlight?" He points to a large mass half covered in shadow and a sheet.
You furrow your brow and decide the best course of action is to just pull the sheet off. After the dust settles, something clicks in place in your memory.
You can't help the grin that splits your face. "Hey! It's the sleigh my grandpa used to take us for rides in when we were kids." You take a step closer, hand ghosting over the brass trim. "Man, I completely forgot about this. Didn't know he kept it all these years. Still in good condition too."
It's true, it was a lot better than you would have ever expected. The dark green painted wood has only a few minor chips and scratches. The leather seats and have no cracks or tears, just a fine coating of dust. Even the brass that decorates and lines the edges of the sleigh look good, you can see your own warbly reflection in places.
"It's beautiful..." Sun says beside you, his own hand hovering just above it, like he's afraid to touch it. "Would, would it still be useable?"
You shrug, looking back to the sleigh. "I don't see why not." You knock the side a couple times. "Wood doesn't seem to be rotted, meaning it should still be pretty sturdy. Why, would you guys want to go for a ride?"
"Please!"
You look up to him, slightly surprised.
Sun fakes a cough, rays flitting. "I mean, if we could, we really, really want to. Pretty please."
You laugh. "Okay, yeah. Shouldn't be too hard. Let's drag it out to the front and we'll clean it up after lunch."
After a bite to eat, you and the attendant work to clean up the old sleigh. Wiping it down, polishing, sharpening the blades and so on. It's tedious work, but you enjoy it and the conversation you share.
By mid-afternoon, the sleigh is ready to go and both Sun and Moon are more than ready to go for a ride.
"Sun hold on, I need to adjust the reins to make sure they're comfortable." You have to shoo him away from you so you can focus.
His rays spin as he whines, but retreats to sit down in the sleigh. "I know, I know, but we've been waiting alllll day."
"And you've been so incredibly patient." You respond, adjusting the bridle on Marshmallow's—named by your cousin's kid—nose.
"Exactly!"
With a laugh, you double check everything before walking behind the horses to the sleigh. Picking up the reins you turn to the frantic bot beside you. "Ready?"
"Yes!" He clasps his hands together. "Please, Sunshine. I'm begging you. Let's go."
You sigh, long and dramatic. Then, you grin. "Alright, let's go." You click your tongue, tugging on the reins once and you start to move forward.
The wind blows all around you, cold against your face. But, you're having too much fun to care.
You swear Sun's eyes are sparkling as he takes it all in. Head whipping back and forth as you travel along. It's peaceful, the crunch of the snow under the horses' hooves, the skating of the sled. Despite the weather it's a gorgeous scene as you cross the countryside.
The snow thankfully isn't too much for Opal and Marshmallow to handle, and you think they seem very content and please to not be cooped up in the barn.
Besides the cold on your face, it's pretty cozy inside the sleigh, the two of you are wrapped up in an old fur blanket you'd found in the attic, and if you weren't so happy that they were having such a good time, you'd be burning up at the thought of sitting so close with them.
Sun's knee bounces against your as he taps his foot, hands fidgeting with your coat sleeve as he has no other way to expel his energy.
You spend a good hour or so out in the snow, even stopping by some of the neighbors places to check in. You return home, cold and hungry, and Sun is happy to usher you inside and cook up dinner.
While cleaning up, you check outside and are pleased to see that the snow has stopped for now, leaving way for a clear night with a full moon. Just like you were hoping.
It takes a moment of convincing, but you pull the boys back out into the snow, stating that it's only fair that Moon should get a ride too.
Soon enough, you're back out in the world, the peace of the night just a pretty as the day. There's only a few stars out, but the moonlight is so gorgeous as it illuminates your path that it more than makes up for it.
It's somehow even quieter out now. The wind blowing only every so often. The lantern you'd set in the back seat casts a yellow hue of the back of Moon's head as he enjoys the ride. While not as fidgety as Sun, he does stick close, hand having somehow intertwined with one of your own, rubbing small circles into the back of it every so often.
All of the sudden, you feel his head rest on your own, it causes heat to grow on your ears.
"Thank you for indulging us and our insistent demands today, Star." He sighs, snuggling closer to you. "This has been lovely."
You duck your head a moment, then clear your throat. "Yo-You're welcome."
Moon's chuckle reverberates against you.
"Could you stop for a moment?" He asks after some time has passed.
You nod. "Sure."
It takes a second, but eventually you're sitting still, waiting for what he's going to do.
What you don't expect is Moon to shift, using his free hand to move under your chin and turn you to face him.
"Wha—"
He bends down then, pressing his smile to your lips, pulling away after a moment.
"That's all, you can keep going now." He snickers, sitting back in the seat.
You blink, taking a moment to process before protesting. "Are you serious? You think you can just do that and not say anything more?"
"Opal wants to get moving, she has carrots to snack on when we return. Marshmallow too."
You hook the reins around part of the sleigh, twisting to face Moon fully. "Opal can wait. I have a few things I'd like to say first." You use both hands to pull his faceplate down to your lips, kissing him again.
And as you sit there, kissing—one of—the bots you love, you can't help but feel a little more grateful that you'd found the sleigh.
So, very grateful.

⋆ 𖤓 𓂃 ࣪˖ BUT CAN YOU SEE IT TOO? THE WAY THE SKIES ARE TURNING BLUE . . . ft. OSAMU DAZAI
Tumblr media Tumblr media
⟢ SYNOPSIS. a dream constantly on repeat…you wake up in the arms of your lover after weeks gone by not spending time with each other, greeted by the serendipity of the blue hour and his content, honey-bathed gaze.
Tumblr media
ᡴꪫ a/n. schedule changes have caused me to wake up so early. + i haven’t been able to rest well lately so i dread getting up, but the one i do like is the calmness of deep-blue tone light seeping through the windows. :)
ᡴꪫ info. fem!reader. fluff; a pinch of angst. sleepy mornings. reuniting. poetic, yearning dazai. ノ wc. 1.3k+

Lately, the land of fantasies had appealed to you the most. Busy days without a moment of quiet serenity ravaged through your schedule unannounced, and before you knew it, half the month already passed.
The only way time stopped was in your dreams. Places where your life didn’t have to be so chaotic—you could control the fact you didn’t have work on a day; you could control if you wanted the weather to shower the blossoming flowers or have not a single wispy cloud in the sky.
“I have a cheat code to lucid dreaming. I’ll only explain if you promise to take me with you, though.”
Above all, you could assure Dazai Osamu was always by your side. That he did not have to leave for days—weeks on end for missions, risky missions. In dreams, he would never have to gamble his life again. Never would Dazai have to feel the level of heartache he was so familiar with.
However, not one soul could stay in the land of fantasies forever. You were soon forced to open your eyes to the empty space in your bed. Another morning without your lover and another lingering thought of being unknown to what he was going through.
So, you longed for the day you would instead wake up in his arms.
You were aware you were in a moment between unconsciousness and awake. Lazily, you shifted positions into a more comfortable one, but instead, you landed in someone’s embrace.
“Osamu.”
It was not framed as a question. Your eyes were closed, but you recognized his touch—the way his hands lovingly cuddled you, slipping under your pajama shirt to warm your back amid the bedroom’s intense air conditioner.
“Good morning, ‘bella,” Dazai said.
Oh, how his drowsiness affected his speech. His voice was noticeably a few notes lower than usual.
He moved his fingers up to your face to move strands of hair away from your features. With that gesture, you slowly opened your eyes.
A good morning indeed. You were not blinded by bright sun rays, but rather coaxed into soft, relaxing blue hues of aurora.
And Dazai’s charming face. He looked like a prince, even just woken up. Your faces both reflected the cerulean light in the room, except his caramel eyes that contrasted against it. You kept his gaze for a few undisturbed moments before he spoke.
“‘Guess beauty-rest is a real thing. You look beautiful.”
You giggled before replying. There was no way—you thought you looked like a mess whenever you got up.
“And you look handsome.” The brunette’s wavy hair was even more disheveled than usual, yet he somehow looked more attractive.
“Only because I’m here with you. I got my beauty rest because of you.”
He gently nudged his pointer finger on your chest to empathize. Meanwhile, a sensation of warmth suddenly flowed through you—a mix of bittersweet joy and affection.
“You were able to sleep?” you whispered.
“Yeah,” Dazai replied and then held up his finger to his mouth, as if he wanted you to keep the fact a secret.
He had been gone for almost a week this time. Who knows how long he hadn’t had the opportunity to sleep?
Dazai shifted, and for a second, you thought he was getting up to leave. In a moment of panic, you tugged down on his shirt to keep him down.
“Wait-”
“‘m going nowhere ‘bella, don’t worry,” Dazai chuckled, amused. He laid your head on his chest, where you were calmed by the soft beats of his heart.
“It’s far too early to, anyway. The sun hasn’t even risen yet.”
You slowly nodded. “What’s the day today?”
“It’s the weekend, darling,” he replied. “Even if not—I’d make sure you’d miss work.”
“I wouldn’t plan on going,” you smiled. How could you miss a precious day with your favorite person?
“How was your week? Any stories for me?”
“Lonely. It was pretty uneventful, too. I just missed you,” you replied. You inched closer to Dazai despite already being pressed onto him, nuzzling your face into his neck.
“How about yours?” you asked as his fingers ran through your hair.
“Don’t worry about that.” He couldn’t see your frown. “Just the typical mission.”
Still, he sensed your unease. He gently kissed your forehead. “I promise I wasn’t in danger. You forget how strong I am sometimes, hm?”
You pulled back so Dazai could see you roll your eyes. “Strong enough to beat all the big bad guys,” you responded, a statement he constantly repeated to jokingly lecture you.
“Exactly!” he winked. “To protect you, of course.”
He held up your hand and clasped it between his, once again making you re-realize the indigo light of the morning.
You turned towards the window whose curtains had been drawn away probably earlier in the foreday. The view was completely uniform in color—the sun had not yet arrived to paint the sky with various shades.
“If our love had to be described in a specific hour of the day, I’d say blue hour.”
You turned back to see his eyes on yours, slightly squeezing your hand. You had zoned off for a few minutes in relaxation.
“Why do you say that?”
“Multiple things,” Dazai smiled. “Such as the deep blue stretching across the entire horizon representing the depth of our love. And how the calmness of the hue reminds me of the way you never fail to give me peace when I’m with you,” he responded.
“How poetic,” you teased, but you couldn’t hide how touched you were by his unexpected sentiment.
“I have more.” His blush did not go unnoticed. “This time of the day is rare to catch. Only appearing in dawn and dusk and only lasting minutes—you’d be lucky to come across it. I’ve stumbled across the most gorgeous girl in the world; I’d had to have some luck. She’s more beautiful than the sunrises and sunsets, and I’ve never met anyone like her.”
Dazai lifted you up, and you straddled his waist. He moved his face towards yours until your noses were touching.
“And finally, in this hour, we are in between night and day. The moon is still visible, yet the clouds are too. Helios has still yet to wake, but there is enough light to point out all your divine features.”
He stole a quick kiss on your lips before continuing.
“A dream surpassing the boundaries of night. One that I haven’t woken up from. You remind me of this very moment.
“Do you know why I asked you to take me with you in your dreams?” he asked.
You cusped his face in adoration. Of course, you knew. He seldom slept, and in turn, he hardly experienced life’s gift of reverie.
“I want to be by your side wherever you go. In every universe, in every moment of time. Not a second goes by when I’m apart from you where I’m not reminded of you.”
You’ve had this dream many times before. A longing for Dazai told your mind to conjure him at a peaceful hour of the day, in the warmth of his arms. You’d repeated this scenario so many times that you’d sometimes forget it wasn’t actually real.
However, you were hit with a realization that, for the first time, this was real—Dazai was home; you would not be woken up to an empty side of the bed.
You knew this because, just as you recognized his touch, you felt seeps of rare vulnerability through his kiss. His human emotion of yearning your consciousness couldn’t single-handedly recreate—the warmth of his body and heart as Dazai pulled you close.
You remind me of this very moment, Dazai had told you once. Whether in dream or the present moment before you, there was something extraordinary about your souls. He knew every experience with you.
Dazai found wherever you were among the cosmos. He transcended night and day—space and time, until he would see your face once again.
He did not need to visit the land of fantasies. You were one already real, his solace and love.

Babe!!! I’ve fallen in love with Timothee! Wonka. May I request a Wonka x reader where the reader tries to make something for Willy’s birthday (a cake or something) and she is anxious that he won’t like it but he thinks it’s so sweet and it’s all fluffy and cute ☺️
𝒞𝒶𝓀ℯ
𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭
A/n- haven’t we all?? Anyways I love this
Warnings: established relationship, fem! Reader, other than that it’s all fluff
Tumblr media
You stepped back as you looked at the cake. The chocolate cake with chocolate icing was perfect for him, you thought. It had some of his own chocolates crushed on top.
You pulled aside Noodle one day at work, bringing her into the room you had it in.
“So, what do you think? Do you think he’ll like it?”
She smiled and nodded. “I think he’s gonna love it. Did you make it yourself?”
You nodded. “I did.”
“It’s perfect.”
——————
His birthday was today. Everything needed to be perfect. You made sure that he stayed in bed late so the others could set up his surprise at the shop.
“Can’t we just… stay here for a little longer? The shop can wait.” You mumbled tiredly, and how could he resist? He would never say no to staying longer in bed anyways.
“Happy birthday, my love.” You said, pressing a kiss to his lips when he crawled back in bed with you. He smiled against your lips as you both laid there, rubbing a hand on his bare back, the light pouring in from the window.
He held you flush against him, he couldn’t have had a better birthday already.
“Mmm.. we should get up.” He said after a while.
“Yeah. Yeah you’re right.” You replied, giving him one more kiss before you both got up and changed into work clothes.
You held his hand as you both walked outside, you were excited to see his reaction to his surprise. The morning birds chirped at you both, it was quiet in the early morning.
He unlocked the door and expected to be met with the darkness of the building, and instead was greeted with streamers, confetti and his friends all there, with a smile as they stood next to the cake you had created.
He turned to you, you had a smile on your face as well.
“You shouldn’t have-“ he started.
“I wanted to.” You gave him a kiss on the cheek, and ushered him forward to say hello to everyone and to open his gifts.
“Happy birthday, Willy.” noodle said, he smiled down at the girl, giving her a hug.
“Did you help with this?” He asked the girl as he nodded to the cake.
She shook her head, “Nope. She just asked me if it looked good, and of course it did. I set up all the decorations and wrapped the presents, though.” She sent you a smile and you smiled back at her.
She was like family to you both at this point.
“Well, thank you, both of you. I don’t think it can get any better.”
He cut the cake and you handed out a slice to everyone. You did end up smashing a piece in his face to which he replied, “at least it’s chocolate.” You rolled your eyes and laughed at the man.
You all sat down at a table, a table he had set up for things like birthday parties or the sorts.
You sat next to him, he held your hand under the table and sent you a small smile every so often. You just smiled back. He was the happiest he’s ever been, and he wouldn’t trade any of this for the world.
“You know, I was kind of scared you wouldn’t like it.” You said once you entered the house, he hung up his coat and hat and furrowed his eyebrows.
“Why would you think that?”
You shrugged.
“I like anything you make, simply because you made it.” He said, coming up from behind you, hugging you from behind and pressing kisses to the crook of your neck.
“Happy birthday, my love.” You told him again.
“It’s the best I could have ever imagined.”
