fantasy name generator is genuinely my best friend. naming realms and gods is so hard when trying to come up with completely original names, so i decided to splice a few of the randomly generated names and mush them together to create some new stuff for my fresh start.
i'm really happy that i'm able to downsize and get to this point without getting lost in my own concepts. i want to be able to make this world into something i can build stories in. i wanted to share the names of the realms and gods that i've made!
for context: there's divine magic (light and dark, or angelic and demonic), natural magic (elemental, which includes the basic elemental light and darkness, which is fundamentally different from divine light and darkness), directionless magic (magic that requires an apparatus to perform), and cosmic magic (solar, lunar, or celestial magic that is exclusively used by the imperial bloodline).
with that in mind, there are four realms:
Bachomel, the demon realm. This is where Xouri (pronounced Shōri) reigns. She is the most powerful demon in Bachomel. There is a hierarchy of power that she stands at the top of, and it's possible for her to be defeated and overthrown, but nobody has managed to do so in several centuries. She is the daughter of Bachomel, the Great Demon King from whom the realm received its name. Anything coming from Bachomel is called Bachomellian.
(Note: I'll rename demons and angels because it's only appropriate to fully commit to originality. That's just their designation because their features are ultimately very similar.)
Next is Diosensys, the mortal realm. Goes without explaining, but all mortal creatures exist here. All monsters, inhuman species, and humans are mortal, meaning that their lives can come to an end. However, depending on their magical ability or inhuman status, their lifespans can be greatly extended. Denizens of other realm refer to mortals as the Diosensi.
The realm of angels is Azure Nexus of Etala. (Just Etala for short.) Humans worship Etalans (angels) and see angels as the messengers of "God". There's no "God" in the traditional Christian sense, but similar to Bachomel, there's a leader of the angels: Khalos. There's also a hierarchy of angels, and he can be dethroned at any point. He is actually newly appointed.
Finally, the realm of spirits, dreams, and reincarnation is called Viadrea, or the Viadrean Nexus. It connects all of the realms together and is the birthplace of the gods of magic; it is the origin and source of all magic in the mortal realm. Also residing here is the god of the realm, who judges souls and guides the flow of reincarnation. This god is a little like the Grecian Fates and Egyptian Anubis combined.
the deities are as follows:
Nivaris, goddess of the Sun.
Azuelle, goddess of the Moon.
Syarin, god of the Cosmos (Stars).
Qione and Yther, twin deities of magic.
Xirena, deity of souls and reincarnation.
Humans in the organized religious sectors on Diosenys commonly worship Khalos as "God" because divine light magic originates from the Etalan shores, but there is no longer any supreme deity in Etala. The divine light magic is the supreme deity – the supreme deity (or God) is formless, and is the source of all divine light magic. Etalans (angels) are born from this eternal fountain.
Similarly, in Bachomel, Bachomel himself sacrificed his form to become the eternal source of stygian magic. Demons are born from the River Axiroth, which is the form that Bachomel assumed.
So, just to be clear: Bachomel is the stygian river Axiroth, and Estre (who was once "God"), is the eternal fountain Clisomel. Both supreme deities have no form, no will, and no consciousness. They are merely sources of divine light and stygian magic, and where the denizens of their realms are born.
