a little going out to a movie theater for the first time in headspace, and them and their CG are caught offguard by how excitable and hyper they are to be in a "brand new place!" they're constantly looking around, excited by every little thing. they have to get popcorn and a soda, bc that's what all their storybooks and cartoon characters do when they're in movie theaters!

when they get to their seats, the previews are still playing, which gives the little plenty of time to get their wiggles out before the movie starts! however, with not much else to do while they wait, the little can't help but to start on their soda and popcorn, no concern at all for the amount they're consuming

by the time the movie does start, they've made a sizable dent in their salty popcorn, which of course led to them drinking plenty of their refreshing drink

their wiggling slows at the production company logos, finally sitting still as the movie is truly underway

until... all that soda sits heavily in their abdomen, taking almost no time at all to reach their bladder

this is their first little movie tho, and they don't want to miss anything!!

so, they stay seated, continuing to sip their soda and munch on their popcorn with less enthusiasm than when they started

it doesn't take long for their wiggling to start up again, but instead of being because of excess energy, it's now because they're attempting to shift any pressure off their bladder, which is slowly beginning to ache

this wiggling isn't very subtle. but, their CG is also trying to enjoy the movie - so when the wiggles start up again, especially if they're big enough that some popcorn may be spilling as the little adjusts and adjusts the way they sit, the CG, eyes on the screen, leans over and whispers to the little that "big kids can sit still through a movie - you're a big kid, aren't you?"

the little immediately stops their wiggling, blush hidden in the dark. they are a big kid, they are. they're potty trained and everything, big kid pants on - they're not a baby who needs diapers

except diapers sound pretty good right now

or, bare minimum, the pull-ups kept in their closet, for when they wake up with wet sheets or they're going on a long car ride or or....

or how their CG asked before they left if they wanted to wear one "just in case," but the little had shook their head innocently and said, "I'm a big kid!"

now aware that they can't just wiggle freely, the little reaches below their bag of popcorn and holds onto themself, hoping that they can last until the end of the movie

their legs still shift, but not enough to be distracting

uncomfortable, the little wishes they were at home - how they could pause the movie and go potty without missing anything

this isn't like home though, there's no pause button!!

they risk a glance at their caregiver, disappointed to see that they're fully engaged in the movie

the little doesn't want them to miss any of the movie either

they think about getting up and heading to the bathrooms, but they shrink in on themselves when they remember how far away they are, how'd they'll have to walk down the stairs, then walk down the hallway, then go use a stall all by themselves, wipe all by themselves, and flush all by themsleves, then wash their hands, then dry them, then come back to this exact theater

what if they get lost? what if they forget a step? what if the toilet flush is really really scary? what if someone tries talking to them?

no, no - they're simply too little to go to the bathroom all by themselves. they need their caregiver with them

but they'll be so disappointed to miss the movie :(

as the minutes drag on, their bladder aches and aches, all that soda the little kept sipping having to go somewhere

a whimper escapes from the little, and their caregiver's head snaps over to them

as they take in the sight of their hunched over little, one hand disappearing underneath their popcorn, legs twisted together, the caregiver hesitating grabs the soda from the cup holder and gives it a little shake

ice clinks against one another and the caregiver can feel that more than half has already disappeared

immediately standing to their feet, caregiver grabs the popcorn bag with one hand and their little's arm with the other, hauling them up

the little stumbles, but finds some relief that they no longer need to make a decision as their CG leads them out of the theater

a gasp is let out as all the movement causes the little's bladder to find some relief itself, big kid undies immediately getting wet

the caregiver doesn't slow down their pace, dragging, then pushing their little into the family bathroom, careful to lock the door properly behind them

when they turn around, they watch as their little is hunched over the drain in the ground, a pattering noise audible as the little is unable to hold it even for a few more seconds, the grown-up potty only a few steps away

as the caregiver leads the little out of the movie theater and into the parking lot, the little instructed to hold their bag of popcorn in front of them to hide the worst of the damage while they stand closely behind them, they make a promise/assurance to their little:

they'll catch the movie when it comes to home video

I know I've asked about First before, but how does he relate to Sky, exactly?

Well, in lu we don’t totally know yet, though I do have some guesses. More on that in a minute though.

First is Sky’s predecessor, according to the manga (which is questionably canon, but isn’t everything in zelda?) at the back of the Hyrule Historia. He’s a good man, but is wrongfully imprisoned for several years before being freed, and is then chosen by Hylia to use the Master Sword to help defeat the demon armies currently trying to take over the land. Hylia rides a crimson loftwing, and it ends up choosing Link as it’s rider as well later on.

Link fights the demons, and ends up in a battle with a leader (its probably Demise, but it’s a bit unclear), and First is grievously injured. First ends up using the Master Sword to send his people up into the sky (this eventually becomes Skyloft) but is unable to join them because of how badly he’s injured, and finally succumbs to his wounds.

I’m mostly cutting out the bits with Hylia, but she does come here and says her whole plan of being a mortal so they can meet again in another life... which I have some lore issues with but you know. Questionably-canon manga. The story then goes to many years later with little sksw Link, who meets the same crimson loftwing First once rode, evident by the marks on its beak, and becomes its new rider.

So. The biggest connection between them, aside from the reincarnation thing (which I’m ignoring because Jojo said for lu, it’s not exactly reincarnation between the Links), seems to be the crimson loftwing. Who, in the manga anyways, is the exact same bird, ridden by both First and Sky.

Lu doesn’t seem to be going that exact direction though. Here’s my thoughts.

Remember the crimson loftwing? In the manga, it’s the same one between First and Sky, but in lu that isn’t the case. We see Sky cuddling with a baby Crimson in these doodles, so my guess is that the Crimson Sky has is actually a descendant of First’s.

My biggest proof for this? Well look at them next to each other.

Notice something similar between them? Aside from the color and all that?

The same beak markings, only fainter on Sky’s bird (which adds again to my theory of the birds being descended from each other theory).

It might just be a neat reference, but we all know how much thought Jojo puts into everything in this comic. And First, though he hasn’t been entirely confirmed to be in lu, has been hinted at more then once. (I actually have a post around somewhere that points out all the hints to him and how it’s likely he will be in lu).

Everyone always talks about how Robin and Will should meet and connect in season 5, and yes I definitely agree, but—

Imagine her meeting Mike. Her seeing his closed off feelings. Her seeing the way he looks at Will. Her seeing how defensive he gets at the mere idea of him being intimate with a man, even if it wasn’t intended to be romantic (“we’re friends, we’re friends!”). She seems him. Really sees him. She knows what it was like to be young and in denial. In fact, she was about his age when she finally started to connect the rainbow colored dots, and things would have been a hell of a lot easier if she had someone to talk to it about.

So she gets close to him. Or at least, she tries to— Mike is a bit suspicious of her constantly running up to him or inserting herself into his conversations (and well, Robin isn’t the best at talking to people). But eventually, Mike warms up to her a little. He starts talking to her about dnd and even vecna, and if Robin were being optimistic, she’d say they’re friends. After awhile Robin starts dropping hints about her sexuality. (“Oh my god, Phoebe Kates is so hot, don’t you think?” - “I guess so— wait, you think Phoebe Kates is hot?” - “Hell yeah, are you kidding?!) Though it’s the 80s, she’s not scared. She’s talking to someone like her after all, even if he doesn’t know it yet.

But Mike doesn’t seem to be getting it. So she tells him about her crush on Vickie. At first he’s confused and asks her if Vickie is short for Victor or something like that, she tells him no. Vickie is the cute redhead that helps make the sandwiches. He’s shocked to say the least. He stands there wide eyed and mouth agape for about two minutes. Robin wonders if he’s going to run away or make some sort of “you’re going to hell” retort (she wouldn’t blame him for it, she went through that phase in elementary school). But he just… starts talking. Asking questions. Normal questions, like “how’d you guys meet?” or “are you gonna ask her out?” Robin is surprised about how casual he’s being. She had fully prepared herself for a meltdown or for him to not speak to her for weeks, but he just acted… normal. Maybe that’s what he wanted to do. To pretend, even just for a second, that being gay wasn’t such a bad thing. That it wasn’t satanic or disgusting or the cause of diseases, it was just normal. That he’s normal.

Weeks go by as the group tries to figure out how to defeat vecna, once and for all. Robin continues to tell Mike about Vickie, eventually telling him how they’re now happily dating (which she could tell Mike tried his best to not smile at). Mike doesn’t tell her about himself though, and she doesn’t expect him to. The road to self acceptance is long and rocky, with lots of bumps and turns on the way— and sometimes you never reach the end of it, though you hope with all your heart you do. Robin just wants him to know that being himself is okay, and that if he ever needs her, she’s right here.

It was a cold and rainy afternoon when Mike found Robin in the shed, visibly sweaty and conflicted. He looks left and right about fifty times before he mutters, barely above a whisper:

“Hey Robin?”

“Hm?”

“How did you know you were… different?”

Robin simply smiles, the warmest she possibly could, and tells him to sit down.
