google maps on my android has been periodically becoming fully nonfunctional in the middle of me doing things that involve being very, very far from my house. it would be seemingly incapable of understanding where i was, and unable to pull up the location data for anything else, even if fed that data by another app. i could look up addresses, but the page to navigate wouldnt even open. resetting my phone, updating the app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, etc. have all done absolutely nothing to fix it.

turning incognito mode on, however, did.
