Art Summary 2023

shoutout to the one month were i drew fanart and then everything else was just dnd content again lmao (also shoutout to me being late to posting this haaaaa)

2023 wasn't the best year for me personally. between money problems and job searching, health issues, mental health issues, unintentional discomfort at my new job, and the overall issues of the world it just hasn't been great and I felt it heavily in my creativity. I never really had any creative highs this year outside of artfight (and even then i felt like i didn't do well) which only fed into some of the issues I was having.

But looking back I am really happy with most of what I made! Sure I didn't draw much but hey I think I popped off when I did!

So here is to 2024! Already off to a good start in the art department and even if I slow down at least I've had fun so far!

(i was gonna put me gushing about things in tags but its a lot so i'm doing a read more this post is already so damn long lmao i'm sorry)

okay i'm here to gush about two pieces at a time and their contents cause then make me happy to look at so lets get started on that with march and september 'cause hey! look at the relationship development of my little goblin guy!

march was when kk (tic's best friend and now boyfriend) first appeared to the rest of the party outside of just tic talking about him. literally the entire party could see that kk was in love with tic and was just like "oh buddy sorry about that" 'cause tic was a dumbass and romance was just never something he thought about until meeting the party. then we flash forward to september where the two confessed to each other after what really felt like the end of tic's story arc. at least it felt that way to me 'cause he reached his goal of killing groll and becoming the king of goblins but i know he still has shit to do I'M LOOKING AT YOU TRAVELLER AND RIP! but yeah that was the whole reason he left and it was done. he did it! but it almost cost him kk and the two ended up having a really important talk about it. kk chewed tic out and spilled his guts and i still think about it a lot holy shit it was so good omfg but it was in that moment that it clicked for tic. that if he had actually lost kk he had no idea what he would do, that he felt like his whole life would fall apart without him. and just man it was good wholesome content. congrats to the goblins for being the first canon relationship! (even tho they were not the first confession that one goes to rhami!)

now that that block of the text is out of the way we get to more depressing ones, those being january and october with my guy, dr. cecil wilfree.

its just.... man. what do i even say about him. january was probably the last moment before his life went into a full downward spiral, eventually leading into his demise. that piece isn't even anything major but rather something like a reminder going "hey, remember when wilfree had two normal eyes? good times!" and just man (-insert that image of a horse standing on the beach-) compare that to where he's at in october and knowing what happened in those 10 months? january he still had trust and hope, he believed that he was going to get back home and help river out with his plague, maybe even get aster home if she'd let them, maybe find a way to cure himself and help casey. but by the end there was no hope and he found out that he had been used, was nothing more than a tool for someone who he trusted, despite knowing that he really shouldn't have. river was dead and it was his fault (at least in his mind it was), he had failed to protect aster and traumatized both her and willow, and he could do nothing to save an entire population from being wiped off the face of the map. and he caved under the guilt. he gave up. its sad to see him alive and pissy in january and then look at december and see a shell of the same man, no more thoughts in that head as his mind got disconnected from his body and self.

and then for extra sads we've got december which was his birth month, so i drew something from a time before the campaign. back when he was alive and well, no soul curse and unknowing of the horrors yet to come, and receiving a gift from someone whose life he could soon destroy due to his own hubris.

anyway! pay no mind to may! i didn't draw a damn thing that whole month!

4 weeks ago I received the best news I could ever ask for and then 3 weeks later I got the worst news of my life. My world has literally been bad news and more for the last month and I couldn’t see the color or light in anything anymore. Like I said in a previous post the Best way to get your feelings out is doing what you love and mine is drawing.

Drew my self insert Ness and her Hubby/lover in this 3 piece panel. As much as the world seems dark and sad and nothing good can come from everything that’s happened to me, Gohan has been my light in the darkness when I get sad. As corny as that is to say, he has helped me through so much and even tho what I’m going through is hard, he’s always there to bring the light and color back into my life. I really love how the poses turned out and Ness looks so small in the bottom panel! 😭🥰

anyway i think age regression as it has become popular online is the biggest fucking red flag i’ve ever encountered because this is YET ANOTHER person who engages with that who is an adult and is out there going ‘ohhh of course pedos are bad and scary. anyway here’s my self insert i came up with to ship with the kid from paw patrol and the fanart i drew of them. its fine because theyre not having sex. here’s my horny megaman fanart that i’ll claim isn’t horny despite shit i’ve reblogged that makes it obvious i’m sexually attracted to the fictional 12 year old’. they just let that guy stay there because they have no fucking standards or backbone or morals and because they’d had friendly conversations with him before. and then they have the nerve to be like ohhh so sad you’re not drawing art for us anymore synth... :( you’re not gonna give us your art for free anymore :(( it must be because it was just too much work and you got burnt out (i was like 85% of the way done with the fucking thing you KNOW that’s not why i don’t want to give it to you people to use!!!)

i am doing everything in my power to not go apeshit. the other people on the server’s stupid shit comments where they ‘didn’t see a problem’ and were like ‘well i guess we can take it down if it really upsets you but don’t talk about it anymore’ really did get to me, where i was like “oh no people are going to think i’m crazy for being upset by this, this is gonna come across as stupid petty tumblr callout culture drama and i’m gonna look like a bully”. i’m SO mad

what got you started writing fanfiction?

oh man good question!!!

okay so when i was a wee bab i discovered fanfic after reading the las volume of dbz and fruits basket at my local library. we only had one computer at home and it was Off Limits Because Of Work reasons. So i did all my reading at the library and i stumbled on the ff.net. 

i used to be a big death note fa. i wrote some cringe twee fics and they were bad bad bad bad but i got the taste for it then. i got some nice reviews and i enjoyed it a lot

and then stopped writing for like… five years?

i started again once i fell face first into the self insert/ oc fic pile. people like me???? having adventures with their favorite characters???? saving the day???? being badass?? sign me the fuck up my dude!!!!! haters can see the door because that means more for me!!!!

The first oc fic i read was a girl in naruto world and all i remember about it is her name was grace, she lost her toes from garra or something and her hair was purple. i drew bad fanart yall. the next one i read was a fma one called re: sinheart (which got a rewrite and l still love it to this day!!!! it’s not updating anymore!!! i’m still upset about it!!!!). i dove through them where ever i could and then i reached the bottom and there were no more fics to read. i was so sad.

then i was like: what if… I write… my… own…?? 

and i did –  it was a super bad transformer:prime oc. (even back then i was obsessed with the question ‘what makes a human a human?’) i lost the draft for it somewhere between computer transfers, though.

 I wrote off and on for years, kept notebooks full of ideas and never published a damn thing up until i stumbled back on my rough draft of chapter one of I Don’t Want To Live On the Moon, the AnY fic. And i reread it – and it was pretty good! readable, even! 

and it clicked in my head – hey I can *post* this. 

Then I did, and the rest is history!!!!

Technically my sonic oc I made when I was like what, 8?  

In all seriousness, I think it’s Kara. She’s can shapeshift into a wolf.

I’d gotta say it’s probably Chase. He’s pretty upbeat and I think about what stupid things he’d get into.

Kara. She’s apart of a story i’m trying to make and therefore if she’s popular than my other characters would be by association.

Chase and Mike. When I first did their designs freshman year of highschool they looked almost the same, thankfully I’ve fixed that a bit. Just in case though it gave me an excuse to pretend they’re brothers of sorts.

Kara, Jasper, Bellona, and a couple others i’ve yet to name. They’re the ones that actually have a kind of story going on. still working on the others

Kara and Jasper. Their family and possibly clan were wiped out by a witch and wizard. Jasper takes care of Kara like a little sister and feels responsible for both their families fallen because he could have given a better warning. Since the attack, Kara has nightmares and if she get’s too emotional (anger, fear, sadness) something else takes over.... talk about cliche

Only ones that promise not to judge how terrible they all are

I don’t really ship any of my OCs together. I’ve tried making someone for Chase and Mike but...relationships are complicated and so is OC making

Chase is a singer. He’s the lead singer of a little rock band he make called Rising Phoenixes (It’s a work in progress people). I made him when I first heard the song The Phoenix by Fall Out Boy. So his voice would be something like Patrick Stump with maybe a bit of Chester Bennington from Linkin Park and Michael Barnes from Red.  Obviously he’s really into rock music and he likes rap as well as some pop. 

21. Your most artistic OC

Technically Chase. The rest of em are goons. Elliot doodles somewhat but that’d when he’s not paying attention in class or procrastinating

22. Is there any OC of yours people tend to mischaracterize? If yes, how?

I wouldn’t know since not many people know about them 

23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like?

With complete honesty, none of my OCs have really changes much since I’ve made them. Design, yeah, but they have the same personality and goals and stuff. 

24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why?

Elliot or Chase. They’re both dumb and I love them.

Kara. When I made her in elementary I was basically trying to make myself seem more interesting...

Nope. All the changes I’ve done are my own choices.

Buddy, a lot of my OCs are based on songs. My problem is that I don’t remember most of them...

Realistically, Mia. She’s a spy and analyzes all situations with caution. 

Fantasy wise, Bellona and her brother. They use their magic with little to no regard for other life. 

29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going?

I would say Elliot but he’s a little turd so he’d tell everyone just to act like a tough guy.

30. Which one of your OCs would most likely have a secret stuffed animal collection?

Mia. The semi stoic ones always have a soft side.

31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really)

Chase would have a social blog that probably promotes his band and there’s a bunch of selfies with him and his bandmates along with audio posts of their songs. Some grumpy Mike pictures are included.

32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why?

Mia. Since she’s a spy she’s got all the training to survive and she’s been trained mentally to adapt to situations. There’s a chance she’ll scream at some point though. 

33. Your shyest OC?

Elliot. He’s very socially awkward.

34. Do you have any twin characters?

Debating wether to give Kara a twin brother. I dabbled in wether I wanted a girl or boy and I can have both if they’re siblings. Still indecisive about it though. 

Might be repetitive though since Bellona and her brother are twins as well.

35. Any sibling characters?

Mike and Chase aren’t related by blood, but they have a sort of bond like siblings.

36. Do you have OC pairs where the other part belongs to someone else (siblings, lovers, friends etc)?

I’m not sure I understand the question. 

37. Introduce an OC who is not quite human

Kara and Jasper are both shapeshifters. Kara originally turned into a black wolf but after the attack on her family, her fur is black and white. Jasper can turn into a red wolf. Bellona and her brother know magic and are able to turn into dragons. 

38. Which one of your OCs would be the best dancer?

I’m thinking that Mike was sent to ballet or some sort of fancy dance classes. Meanwhile I have another OC that GETS DOWN AT THE CLUB. 

39. Introduce any character you want

Jasper isn’t talked about much so uh. Yeah he’s a shapeshifter and acts much like a protective older brother towards Kara. He’s got a hint of Jakob from Fire Emblem Fates to his personality when it comes to Kara. He’s a typically polite young man and he tried to hide his emotions a lot of the time. He can be very caring and kind depending on the person though. 

40. Any fond memories linked to your characters? Feel free to share!

When I first drew Mike, my friend said he was hot. It was during theatre my freshman year.

I’m gonna be honest, I consider all of my OCs attractive and I would probably date the dudes. I’m guily of same face syndrome too probably.

I usually create OCs based on songs, even if I can’t remember them all. There are a few songs that i’d relate to my OCs and think of them when listening to them. Kara is basically my self insert into the fiction world and I am ashamed but it’s too late now. I hope they all don’t have the same kind of personality too....
