literally cannot believe that Star Trek: Ongoing co-opted the inherent eroticism of TOS Jim/Spock playing chess and having Jim beat Spock at chess to create the crux of whEN SPOCK FELL IN LOVE WITH UHURA to promote the herterosexual agenda

#star trek aos #star trek #so i kinda fuckin hate these comics tbh #one big reason being they did this shit #my roomie pointed out they had the actual unique angle of spock and uhura both being music lovers #but no #they stole the spirk thing of chess #they also made jim a chess novice and im so mad #they turned comic jim into fuckin basic whitebread jock #hate it so much #for all that aos seems to get a lot of flack #i got a lot of depth adn opportunity from those movies #i like these versions of thema nd the potential #and these comics are so fuckin shallow #its like cardboard cutouts of the characters being puppeted around #tbf i sorta hate the comic industry because of the storytelling i see like this #i do think its cool that all the characters get little backgroudns and shit from the comics #expansion fo their characters #but the uhura/spock feels really basic bitch they're jsut there to do the classic straight people romance #and they made jim dumb #the movies literally call him a genius out the gate #and they squandered it by making him the most milquetoast motherfucker #i also hate their explanation of how he beat the kobiyashi maru #thansk for coming to my ted talk imd efinitely gonna bitch more later
