There's a difference between shipping two characters and acknowledging the intense (usually gay) bond between characters. You guys get what I mean, right? Like I'm not just going insane?

Like a BSD example:

-I casually ship Louisa X Lucy because I feel like their dynamic could work in a romantic context and because I love it when girls are in love and they both deserve to be happy 🩷

-HOWEVER Chuuya and Dazai have an intense bond, they are one soul in two bodies, written and designed to compliment the other, Chuuya trusts Dazai with his life and vice versa, Dazai believed in Chuuya's humanity from the very beginning, their old and sorted dynamic, Chuuya being like the only one who understands Dazai's motives, and so, knowing all of this, I simply have no choice but to acknowledge their homosexuality because if I don't then I'm just being willfully ignorant

Or a MHA example:

-I somewhat ship Dabi x Hawks because it's hilarious whilst also having beautiful potential for angst

-BUT Bakugou and Midoriya quite simply just are gay as shit for each other and I have no choice but to accept it. Rivals constantly pushing the other, their complicated history and how they've both grown because of it, their understanding of the other, Bakugou basically trusting Midoriya with his fears and insecurities, Bakugou being the first to know about One for All, Kaachan Bakugou.

Or a MTP example:

-I guess you could say I ship Microsoft X Albert because I think it's sorta very funny and extremely plausible.

-MEANWHILE William and Sherlock are like the only person who understands each other and can keep up with them and Sherlock is diving off of buildings and cradling William's head as they fall (in love).

Or a JJK example:

-I kinda ship Maki X Nobara because I can and I want to and they could work

-ALTERNATIVELY Gojo and Geto where each others one and only best friend, best friend they ever had, knows his smell, his heart and soul know otherwise. They're just disgustingly in love and I hate it but there's nothing I can do about it except cry

Or a Haikyuu example:

-I do ship Hanamaki X Matsukawa because lord is it hilarious and the fanon presentation of a romantic relationship between them is always the funniest thing ever and the fics are so good

-YET Hinata and Kageyama are exactly what the other needed, Kageyama found his better half, their constant pushing of the other to do better, promises fulfilled and matches won, casual moments and casual touch. I did not choose to see them in a romantic light, they forced me to. I am a victim

Or a Merlin example:

-I dabble in shipping Percival X Gwaine purely because I can and no one is gonna stop me

-ALTHOUGH Merlin and Arthur are so gross and icky and care about each other so much and repeatedly risk their lives for the other and Arthur asked Merlin to hold him whilst he dies and Merlin spends forever waiting for Arthur's return. I just can't view them platonically or something after everything I've seen them do and I don't believe anyone who says that they truly don't seem them as romantic or at least something other than platonic or brotherly because how could you not??

Or a Doctor Who example:

-I could ship the Doctor X Jack because that's actually class

-UNFORTUNATELY that would be asking me to ignore the Doctor and Rose. He burned up a sun to say goodbye. He loved her. She loved him, was willing to never see her mother again if it meant she stayed with him. I'm sorry but cmonnnn

Nah but you get what I mean, right? Like I don't 'ship' these people, they're just IN LOVE and I hate them for it.

Everything I'm about to say is pretty much just what everyone else has said but like- it all ties together I feel, YA KNOW? I just think it's wild that in a community where everyone has collectively decided that living up to societal norms is dumb and lives by the whole "we are cringe, but we're FREE" meme, that we've somehow normalized making snap judgements about and ostracizing each other? and treating those who don't participate in those witch hunts like they're criminals of the worst degree themselves? I-? HOW? It's just all very juvenile to me, and I'll admit it's made it hard for me to want to reach out to people and make friends here still.

I feel like I'm walking on egg shells ALL the time. You can't like, reblog, or follow ANYONE without jumping through hoops first and if you don't and follow the wrong person or reblog from someone who's stupidly specific DNI you happen to fall under, then you're suddenly the biggest asshole known to man. You're on a list, or getting gossiped about, or you're getting cancelled, whatever. That's assuming they don't have their DNI's plastered on every post they make, which wouldn't be so off putting maybe (big maybe) if people weren't so freaking rude. "DNI (enter whoever here) you're scum get out of here you're not wanted" OH OKAY? HAVE YOU TRIED NOT BEING SO ANGRY? I'm not trying to harbor an unsafe or unwelcoming environment for ANYONE on my blog, so no I'm not going to reblog stuff like that even if maybe I wouldn't want to interact with whoever they're excluding either.

Also, the things people get called and the disgusting things people get accused of around here willy nilly for literally no reason other than others disagree with them? Yknow the ones. Not gonna say it here, but oh my GOD that is so NOT okay. To do THAT to someone is disgusting. I just don't get what happened to treating a social media, like social media. If you don't like someone? Block them! If you get an interact from someone you don't like? Block them too! Don't want to see certain posts? Mute the tags! Don't like who someone ships with for whatever reason? Hey there's that block button again! It's so easy. It's free. It's like- dead ass the most simple thing in the world. And yet we've chosen to normalize making the entire community a frigging minefield. It's so overwhelming that if I hadn't found a way in via my own support blog back in the day, and instead tried to enter as just anyone else, I would have turned tail way before I met the friends I do have here (and my wonderful amazing lovely girlfriend cough). It's stupid, my dude. Having this opinion alone gets me shoved into certain boxes I didn't even ask for. And as far as people getting butt hurt over blocks, I don't even NOTICE when it happens, let alone do I care so I just. Cannot relate. I can't fathom it unless they were someone I was close to.

Current TDiplo theories - finished ep. 4

My favorite: Lenkov (Russian mercenary, sounds like a Prigozhin standin) is framing Russia for framing Iran for the ship attack. Whether Russia or Iran is the culprit, this could give him more ways to amass power. This theory is based on me hating Prigozhin

My least favorite: it's the Russian government and everyone is on board. Cmonnnn this show has been so accurate so far (I even made the same cracks as Hal about people getting novichuk'ed in the UK) so I'll be really disappointed if they take this route, especially because they KNOW there's tension between Prigozhin and Shoigu.

Iran attacked the UK on purpose and is now blaming Russia (doesn't make much sense but it's possible)

Iran attacked the UK on accident, freaked out, framed Russia, and killed their own ambassador so he didn't snitch.

It was President Rayburn, for some reason (makes sense from a drama perspective but not from a realism perspective so I'm entertaining this theory but not taking it seriously considering how much research this show has done)

It was ISIS the whole time and nobody bothered to check (not plausible, we've definitely got them infiltrated enough to check)

It was China the whole time (not plausible; they're harder to get intel on than ISIS (in my amateur opinion) but it just doesn't make sense and also that's not the message State would want to promote anyway

As said no. 1 is probably my favorite and it's the one I'm leaning most heavily towards. I'm really anticipating episode 7 and 8 so I can finally see how the show treats the Russian delegation, but I don't want to skip to it in case I'm disappointed

How I feel about this character: SHE’S SO FUN AND LOUD. Like definitely a Lawful type character given her dedication to KND rules (she just... ignores that she went to kindergarten with nigel, clearly the same age... cause the computer said they were all 13. On the same day. I imagine she was invited to his birthdays back then too so like.... I lvoe her) ALSO SHES TOUGH TOO!!! Took a papercut and just yelled at her tem for being babies. Her genuine admiration for 362 its a crush cmonnnn? Her respect to Abby AND Kuki? Amazing. She may rant about hating boys but its obvious it wasnt always forever and she definitely didnt seem to feel the same toward Maurice. Also I kind of love that she was a Medic? ANd then Head of Decom (yknow where they erase memories. Brain Surgeon hedcanons yo) She’s genuinely a good operative, despite her bias she’s still doing her job. Not to mention her love for girly things. Like.... I love that Nigel makes a comment she owns more rainbow monkeys than Kuki. KUKI? The Slumber episode was great and cute.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Moonbabes aka Rachel/Fanny like cmon its great. Also OT3 cant forget that. I dont think i have anymore from the top of my head. I do have Negative 86 and Eizzil somewhere.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: OT3, thats right it also works just as well platonically (you ship that any way you want anyway). I do have her and Lizzie being friends in my teen story. Kuki for sure! More of them chillin with eachother. Patton, this goes into the ot3 but ill say it separately too. I think theyd be good friends, looking out for Rachel at times (cause uh... rachels anxiety and also they have found her passed out around the moonbase at times). Let them join forces.

My unpopular opinion about this character:  19th century. I get the joke was that he had predjuice about girls and Fanny vice versa and all but I’ll never accept this. Its not even enemies to lovers trope. She decommed him with no regrets. Plus hes from the 19th century. I... dont think she’d be in TND either. Not everyone can be.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.: GKND, MORE RACHEL AND FANNY INTERACTION?? IDK. Funny how we dont have Fanny and Patton interacting in canon but a lot of people collectively thought theyd argue alot. Personally, I dont think i see them doing that very often. In fact I think theyd work together more. Also the parallels between Patton training cadets versus fanny decoming operatives. Nice. Fanny also like... LET HER CALL RACHEL HER FRIEND IN CANON. Rachel called her by her name!!! I dunno yknow just in general? Fanny content, GKND and their decom? She’d have an opinion on that.

Aight so, these do be ideas that (hear me out now) if we’re written the way I’m thinking would actually make good like stories or fics.

Firstly, you gotta hear me out on these because they sound stupid but I’m thinking of the PLOT okay. So ignore if it’s based off cartoon fish because we’re looking at the plot, and if it was written with human characters in place of the original, it would make more sense.

WAIT HEaR ME OUT MAN!! If they were humans it could totally work right!? Now a live action wouldn’t rlly work but as a fic on ao3 or smth yk it could! Like the main character works at a car wash, being in the wrong place wrong time ending up lying about killing of the head mafia’s kid. And Yk the rest of the plot of shark tale- it would work okay!!

(EXAMPLE) so take idk the staubrey ship from pitch perfect (bear with), this story is now about two women in love (can be any ship if u want I don’t mind, this jus an example). Stacie Conrad as Oscar, Aubrey Posen as Angie. This can now be seen as a mafia au with a people working at a car wash! I’m👏talking👏about👏the👏plot👏aight?👏-

THE PLOT OKAY THE PLOT IS WHERE IM AT. So an arrogant race car driver ends up at a town in the middle of nowhere, learns more life lessons- makes friends and falls in love!! Cmonnnn if someone actually wrote it, it’d be so good mannn.

Now this is one of my fav ideas okay because it can work as Mr and Mr or Mrs and Mrs or a hetero one if you want. BUT CMON IMAGINE ANY OF YOUR SHIPS AS THEM ITS SO GOOD RIGHT??

- Hear me out on this one lads: Charlie’s angels (2000), the one with Lucy Liu, Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz.

So you can do this however you want- you could literally just copy the plot of the movie or you can have two of the angels fall in love (depends on what ship you’re using) I honestly don’t mind, personally I just think it could work.

Okay Ik it’s about penguins and all that but if u stick with me here, lemme explain. Could totally work- have it as the main character living middle of nowhere getting the chance to go to Hawaii or another surf capital of the world for the competition. (It’s the plot man! THE PLOT!!) Learns life lessons, falls in love, surfing!!

Just imagine your favourite girls as them. Cmon- best idea ever right?

- COYOTE UGLY!!!

Okay so absolutely love this one too because you can either re-write it with the characters already in it possibly with the main girl falling in love with someone who works at the bar instead or maybe not having a love interest at all idk- I like the idea of her falling in love with a girl instead but that’s just me. Anyways, it can totally kick ass as a fic because if you’ve watched Coyote Ugly, you’ll know why cuz it’s already a smashin movie!

- Whip it (2009)

Amazing movie, would just be great to have with whatever characters you want. Keep the love interest or dump them, or even make the main character fall in love with someone else- I don’t mind man
