The Bookworm Tag

1. Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
Probably in pre-school when I had this big book of classic children’s stories. I remember reading Madeline over and over again. And then I was obsessed with Dear America books in elementary school.
2. Where do you usually read?
Preferably in a big, cushiony chair.
3. Do you prefer to read one book at a time or several at once?
One at a time.
4. What is/are your favourite book(s)?
Pride & Prejudice.
5. Do you have a least favourite book?
Uh... I never made it through Hatchet in 5th grade or Beowulf in 12th grade. Those were not my slice of pizza, if you know what I mean.
6. What is your favourite genre?
This is pretty broad, but 19th-century European lit. Love stuffy, wordy books.
7. Is there a genre you won’t read?
Not yet.
8. What is the longest book you ever read?
Anna Karenina.
9. What book are you currently reading?
I’m actually reading two (despite the above answer): The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
10. What was the last book you finished?
The Kite Runner.
11. What was the last book you bought?
I picked up The Night Circus along with The Devil in the White City (Erik Larson), American Gods (Neil Gaiman), and The Stand (Stephen King) during my last trip to Barnes and Noble.
12. Do you have a favourite book quote?
Oh jeez, not off the top of my head. I love the language of Pride and Prejudice, Crime and Punishment, Anna Karenina, and Jane Eyre. Definitely love the first line of P&P (duh).
13. Do you prefer library books or buying books?
Buying books. I basically use the library for movies only.
14. Where do you buy your books?
Last Exit Books, Barnes and Noble, and Amazon.
15. How many books do you buy a month?
I usually buy a couple every few months.
16. How many books do you own?
I couldn’t tell you, but I can tell you they were a massive pain when I moved last winter.
17. How do you feel about second hand books?
Love not spending a butt ton of money. Don’t love not having a fresh, clean book for myself.
18. Do you prefer E-books or physical books?
Physical. I don’t think I’ve ever read an e-book...
19. Do you prefer paperback or hardback?
Hardback all the way.
20. Do you prefer to read trilogies/series or standalones?
I definitely read more standalones, but I don’t know that I have a preference.
21. What is the weirdest thing you’ve used as a bookmark?
Nothing weird comes to mind, but I love using ticket stubs.
22. What is more important to you: characters or plot?
Both?
23. Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
Every time. Oops.
24. What’s the most beautiful book you own?
I have a lot of fancy classics collections - Dickens, Austen, Bronte sisters, etc.
25. What is your favorite book to movie/tv adaptation?
Pride & Prejudice (2005).
26. What is the best beverage to drink while reading a book?
Coffee.
27. Are you looking forward to any book release? If so, which one?
I don’t follow upcoming releases, so I’ll go with a recent-ish release: Born a Crime by Trevor Noah.
28. Recommend me a book :3
Pictures at a Revolution by Mark Harris.
