dahlia & petunia?
oooh good ones!
dahlia- has a death scene ever made you cry? if so, which one?
you asked the right person!! not because i cry alot but kinda because of the opposite lol. im surprisingly very detached when it comes to main character deaths like spottedleaf, bluestar, ect.
however the deaths that really caught me off guard and hit my emotions were random background characters that were never mentioned again. yeah i know weird- here’s a few!
i know bumble is a semi important character in dotc but man her death hit me like a truck. i think i was more angry than sad because it felt so unfair and pointless :(
smokepaw!! that random apprentice that falls off a cliff on the journey. idk what about of it got me so hard because that was the only time in the book i remember him but it might’ve been the suddenness of it or something. me and a friend actually theorised that he survived the fall and joined skyclan. i think i had a dream about it- now u know why hes on my fave character list!!
longtail’s death just. killed me. not even so much his death but mousefur’s reaction and the suddenness of it all.
smallstar, wolfheart and runningstorm and that whole novella/story absolutely destroyed me. also i like it because it spits in goosefeather’s curse determinism face.
badgerfang and snowkit also killed me but thats a given.
lichenfur!! my girl!! :(((
shaded moss!! idk why but this scene had such a vivid atmosphere for child me
while i didnt read these, coming back to the series and finding out billystorm, echosong, purdy and spiderleg were all dead made me sad.
petunia- which arc is your favourite?
im guessing no graphic novel arcs so i’d have to say,, dawn of the clans?? i havent read the books in ages but this is the arc i have the most memory of reading because i was doing so as it came out and funnily enough the sun trail was the very first warriors book i read!
i honestly remember being able to create such a visual image in my head while reading it. the cover art especially really stuck with me and my tiny ten year old self felt so engrossed in the world like i was imagining myself alongside these cats and everything felt so huge. this is definetly my nostalgia speaking but it was wonderful. it was also the only series i read in order

ok so uhhh overall thoughts on bluestars prophecy:
the beginning? cute love it an her sister's interactions
the amount of death an trauma this girl had to go through god damn
its so trippy , nostalgic, an almos sad watchin an seeing cats you remember from the main arcs just growing up an jus realizing how old they are
i love crookedstars an bluestars brief friendship
her an oakhearts relationship felt kinda rushed but its still kinda cute
goosefeather an thrushpelt deseve more love
i fucking hate leopardfoot an pinestar together
ok the whole thistleclaw thing in this book bothers me so much, its jus blatant that they quickly made him evil cause they needed a villian an reasoning for bluestars prophecy or whatever
bluestar could of probably easily still been able to become deputy, if sunstar knew bout thistleclaw jus by assumption he obviously wouldn make him deputy, if anythin he may have jus made a temp deputy like hed been doin an waited a bit, plus jus cause shes in the nursery doesn mean she's immediately useless???
spottedleafs heart jus pisses me off more cause it's completely pointless, give us a thistleclaw pov novella instead or atleas get a better reasoning for her becoming a fuckin med cat
idk what else to add but uhh yeah bluestars prophecy 8/10; its okay but..definitely got some annoying stuff an issues

December 2019 Wrap Up
Tumblr media
So I didn't completley finish my TBR but I already knew I wasn't gonna make it cuz December is crazy busy for me.
1. A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) by Sarah J. Maas
🌟🌟🌟
I mean it was something, I do appreciate they made the whole romance super extra consensual, but like Tamryn was a whole ass new character, and I liked Rhysand more since book 1 but idk this book villified Tamryn and like it wasn't necessary, also this has no plot at all, it was a gigantic info dump and most of the real action happened until the end of the book, so I didn't like it as much as the frist and I will only read the next one that's it, I'm never reading the novella or the next trilogy.
2.- Ruin and Rising (Grisha Trilogy #3) by Leigh Bardugo
🌟🌟🌟
I just didn't like it :( I mean there was lots more action, and the plot advanced more naturally, but like I wanted something better for my girl Alina, the ending she got was quite sad given the fact that in book 2 and part of this one she expresses her ambitions and embraces her powers and to lose them so she and Mal can be together (or maybe it's cuz i don't like Mal all that much)
3.-Legendary (Caraval #2) by Stephanie Garber
🌟🌟
Ammm I will finish the series cuz I want to know what will happen with the world and the characters but this book didn't capture me like Caraval did, the romance was pretty bland in my opinion and the whole "Julian is Legend, wait no Dante is Legend or is he??" got boring pretty fast, the worldbuilding and the magic were pretty intresting but the romance and family angst went against it.
4.-Dear Mrs. Bird by A.J Pierce
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Ok this kinda really made me cry, it was a really good heartfelt story, it was simple and straightforward but also charming.
5.- Unmarriagable - Soniah Kamal
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hands down my favorite read of the month!! I am always a sucker for Pride and Prejudice, and this one is so great cuz it brings the Pakistani culture into the story is amazing I just loved it so so much and I definitely recc it.
6.-Queenie.- Candice Carty-Williams
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
It was a great book, maybe I was more in a Contemporary fiction mood this month, but I thought it was amazing, a lot like Bridget Jones Diary but with an added complexity when you deal with racism and mental health issues. I really enjoyed it a lot and I am looking forward to reading more by Candice Carty-Williams.
7.- A River of Royal Blood by Amanda Joy
🌟🌟🌟
I liked it, the worldbuilding was pretty good as well as the magic system (I mean I am not much a fan of u can only use the type of magic u are born with but it's ok), but I feel the 'heirs to the throne have to fight each other to death" is not my thing, cuz it simply seems a pointless tradition so I was like whyyyyyy tho?? Like I could get behind it but I feel none of the books of the same style I've read so far has really justified such a practice. I was pretty meh about it, it was enjoyable but a bit forgettable like I can't see myself reading a whole ass series so I won't be reading the next one.
8.- Miriyam by Silvia Veccini
🌟🌟🌟🌟
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought, the story was pretty simple and was endearing even if there were some elements that made me cringe (Joseph and Mary's ginormous age gap) it's a short cute Bible retelling.
9.-Oksana Behave! by Maria Kuznetsova
🌟🌟🌟🌟
The humor in this book is my kind of thing, I like memoirs a lot and this pretty much reads like one so I enjoyed it a lot, it kind of ended in an awkward place but overall it was a good read.
10.- Daisy Jones & the Six
🌟🌟🌟
So ummm I had big expectations with this book but I didn't like it as much, it is a fairly short read and the format helps to get through it in no time, and also serves as an intresting devise making most of the characters unreliable narrators, but I also felt it very superficial it had lots of things to really grip the reader's emotions but they pass by to move to the next anecdote, the characters were so bland they were caricatures of the 70's rock stars and Daisy read a lot like a 'manic pixie dream girl' and I don't care for that stuff nor for her wierd "feminism", so for a book that was entirely character driven it kinda put me out, I do think however this book its perfect to be adapted into a movie or a miniseries.
11.- War (Horseman of the Apocalypse #2) by Laura Thalassa
🌟🌟🌟
I mean it is what it is, the book is just as smutty as the last one but I did not love War like I fell for Pestilence, still the book was a fun time and well let's see how the next one goes.
