A Failed Betrothal (6)
Here is a new chapter for you guys. I am terrible at writing feelings and this is my best shot.😅 Tell me what you think.
[Masterlist]
(PART 1)(PART 5)
-------
(Words in bold is French)
“Tch, Drake is going to be busy trying to find Hawkmoth. He can’t go around Paris, being Dupain-Cheng’s boyfriend. Besides, he can’t be a proper boyfriend even in his most lucid moments. I will be her boyfriend instead.”
Tim was glad he didn’t take a sip of his coffee when Damian volunteered to be Marinette’s boyfriend. But he still choked on air. Jason with his limited knowledge of french was confused. Damian didn’t do what he heard, right?
“No, you can’t. Chloe already told them about Tim. If I come in with a different boyfriend, they would get suspicious. We can work on Hawkmoth while we go on those dates. Besides, I thought you don’t like me. That’s not going to sell the image of a loving couple.” Marinette pointed out. (She also doesn’t want to do this fake-date thing. Not because she likes Damian and she had always been a goner for green eyes and totally would be date him if it weren’t for some stupid curse dictating her feelings for him and fake-dating him might get her catch feelings for him and she would get her heart broken when this is all over and she would stay single forever and be a lonely old lady with hamsters and cats for company.)
“Actually, Mari-bug, I only told the class how romantic your boyfriend is. I never told them what he looked like. Just in case, Timothy couldn’t make it. I have back-up favors to cash in.” Chloe explained.
Marinette didn’t even know why she was surprised at that, this was Chloe after all.
“You have more than one American boy around our age in your debt who you intend to be my boyfriend? Sounds like you, Queenie. So that also means that Damian doesn’t have to do it if he doesn’t want to.”
“My offer still stands. I will be your ‘boyfriend’ before I have to go back. I will be more understanding than those other American boys when you have to rush out for an attack. That is to assume that they can come here or agree. In our initial meeting, I didn’t like that weak girl act you put up. Recent events have made me realize that you are a much stronger person. (Careful Damian, that sounds like a compliment.) You are a decent partner to date.(Shit. Shit. Shit. That wasn’t a compliment, right?)”
Damian couldn’t see why Dupain-Cheng would refuse such a good deal. He supposed her feelings might be still hurt from his first impression of her. He would give her an apology when they are alone and away from his brothers who would make a big deal of it.
“Fine. At least, the curse will at least make this fake couple thing more believable.” grumbled Marinette. The light pink blush on her face is not because he said she was someone he would date.
Oh right, the curse. He swore internally, it had possessed him to be Dupain-Cheng’s boyfriend. He now would have to endure the hand-holding, kissing and staring into each other’s eyes, and try to resist the curse which will be much harder now. Somehow, he didn’t regret it a little bit. It sounds more bearable with him doing those things with her than her with Drake. This was just a mutual agreement to ward off her suitors and prove to her classmates that she was off the market.
Chloe clapped her hands,“If we have everything sorted out, you can start being a good boyfriend by walking Marinette to school today. We want to be on time now.”
The others started packing up their stuff or finished what they were eating. Marinette was dragged out of the bakery by an impatient Damian. Chloe and Alix picked up what Marinette left behind and followed out. The rest soon left right after, leaving the two boys in the bakery.
“Hey, Replacement, tell me if I am wrong but did Demon Spawn willingly ask a girl out?” Jason asked, stealing a croissant from Tim.
“Try making himself the perfect candidate to be her fake boyfriend out of many choices, including me, and get her to agree to it. Now he has to go on a few romantic dates with Marinette in order to ward off this really pushy guy in her class. Demon Spawn also has a crush on her and he’s in denial of it. We are not hallucinating either. I’ve checked.” Tim replied, sipping his coffee.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Damian. Let go. Hey, Wayne, are you listening to me? Let me go. This is not how you treat your significant other. And you are not even going in the right direction.” Marinette all but yelled at him.
He released his grip on her. “My apologies for manhandling you but I wanted to tell you this away from everybody else.”
“What?” She asked, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes.
I- This is a little difficult to say for me,” Damian started. (Why were his palms sweaty? It’s just an apology. He had done it before although it was mostly because Grayson told him what he did wrong and made him do it.) “But I am sorry for calling you weak, pathetic and every other bad thing I have said about you when you have shown that you are anything but those. I was mad at myself for being caught and took it out on you.”
Her glare softened.
“Apologies accepted. The school is this way.” She said with a smile and went towards the school. Damian walked by her side, his hands in his pockets.
Marinette looked at where his hands were, “If we are going to do this fake dating thing, I suggest we hold hands.”
Damian grabbed her hand and continued walking in silence. Her hands were so small and fitted perfectly in his. Oh God, it’s the curse again. Turning him into a sap. Do not think about her hands. And the fact that she took down a man twice her size with them which was an amazing sight to watch.
“Why are you so stiff? Loosen up a little. You are with the love of your life. Smile a little.”
Damian plastered on a fake smile, “Happy?”
“It looks fake. Being a model he will be able to tell.” Marinette remarked, “Are you sure you want to do this? We can still go get Tim to be my boyfriend.”
“I can do this. Drake wouldn’t be a better choice. It doesn’t help that you are relentlessly nit-picking me. Or are you that bad of a girlfriend?” Damian couldn’t help but sniped back. “Maybe that’s why Chat Noir left you.”
He found himself back against the world and her elbow at his neck. (He would forever deny that he liked it.)
“Look here, Wayne. You know nothing about me and you shouldn’t assume that you do. Chat Noir was revoked of his status as a hero for his behaviour. If you don’t act the part properly, I am going to have my former partner, who has absolutely no sense of boundaries, harassing me in my civilian life and I have already dealt enough of his advances to last a lifetime. I have given you so many chances to get out of this which you refused and yet, you are half-assing it. So are you in this 100 percent or not? Because I am at the end of my patience right now.”
“The boy who is obsessed with you is the former Chat Noir?”
“Yes, I will explain about that later but what’s your answer?”
“I will give it my best shot but I have never pretended to be in love.”
“Were you not taught in the League?”
“There were seduction tactics shown to members when they were old enough and I left them when I was 10 but I am not sure if those skills can be applied here.”(Slamming your opponent against the wall wasn’t one of them but she was doing a great job of it so far. No. No. No. He is not his father. This is different from whatever he has with Kyle.)
She released her hold on him and grabbed his hand, leading him towards her school.
“Well then, here are the basics. Everytime you look at me, just think of your favourite things to make your smile a little more genuine. Maybe call me by a pet name if you want. Keep your touch on me like you can’t keep your hands off of me and act really reluctant when you have to let go. You will only keep them my shoulders, arms, hands and waist or I will break your hand. I will do the same. If you are going to have to kiss me, give me a warning.” He looked into her blue eyes and nodded.
“Alright.”
“Oh. I almost forgot. In case they try to question our relationship. My favourite colour is red. My favourite song is ‘Fearless’ by Jagged Stone.(I love Taylor. Sue me) And we met online a few months ago. You came all the way to Paris to see me a month ago and asked me out. We will talk more that later. Oh, I also love designing and have dreams of being a famous fashion designer.-”
Marinette rambled on which Damian found a little endearing. He looked forward to knowing more about her. He added a few comments here or there about himself (because it was only fair.) and ways to improve their cover story about their relationship.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“We are nearly at school. Let’s start the act, Romeo.” Marinette whispered at him and looked at him with a bright smile that brought a tiny smile to his face. Okay, maybe he liked Marinette a little bit but that doesn’t mean he’s in love with her.
He moved her hand holding his to the crook of his elbow.
“Is this acceptable, my lady?”
She wrinkled her nose, (Adorable. No. Don’t go there) “This is fine. But can you not call me that? And princess too? I may have erased his memories as Chat Noir but it could be a trigger to bring them back.”
“Understandable. What about Malak?”
She blushed. Marinette had learned Arabic a while back and was very fluent in the language.
“It’s okay.” She said in a soft voice. She put her other hand on his bicep and leaned on his shoulder.
“You don’t look like a touchy-feely person so is this fine?”
“Yes.”
“Cool, let me tell you more about the atrocious lies that had passed her mouth.”
They walked into the school courtyard, arm-in-arm, for the entire school, especially Marinette’s class, to see. The perfect picture of a loving couple. Marinette’s blush from earlier was evident on her face, leaving no room for doubt about her new relationship status. (Many guys, gals and pals were upset over it.) As they both walked up the stairs, whispering and laughing about who knows what (gulliable and idiotic classmates they have to suffer learning with), two pairs of green eyes followed them.
In this case, the saying ‘green-eyed monsters’ was true. One was envious of the boy who held the girl he wanted in his arms and the other was envious of the attention the couple was receiving.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Damian escorted Marinette to her class. He gave her a kiss on her cheek and said, loud enough for the class to hear, “Bye, Malak. I will pick you up after school for our date.”
“B-bye, Damian.”
He took her hand, gave a kiss to the back of it and departed, leaving a very red-faced Marinette behind. The rest of the class parted the way as Damian walked past.
She rushed into her seat where Chloe sat beside it, grinning like a Cheshire Cat.
“Sooooo, Mari-bug, how was your date? You two rushed out of there so quickly and left your stuff behind. So eager to spend time with your boyfriend, eh? You enjoyed it very much by the looks of it.”
“Sorry about that, Chloe. Did you bring my bag and the cheese danishes?” Marinette tried to change the topic. And she also wanted to make sure a god of destruction doesn’t go hungry and angsty during school. “Yep, here you go,” Chloe said, handing Marinette her bag and a box of cheese-flavoured snacks for Plagg, “Your mom packed some for you.”
“Marinette. Where have you been the last two days? And you came back with a boy. I am honestly worried about your behaviour.” Lila played the concerned classmate wonderfully.
“Yeah, Marinette. This is a new low, even for you.” Alya added.
Marinette readied herself to tell the cover story Damian and her worked out on the way here.
“Lila, I appreciate your ‘concern’. But the last four days have been a little hard on me so excuse me if I am a little snappy today. You see, Damian disappeared and didn’t return home after school on Friday. So when he didn’t pick up for our weekly video call, I panicked and called his family and they told me what happened. They sent me a plane to get out of Paris so I can’t get akumatized.”
“Was that why you were gone on Saturday?” Chloe asked, playing along although she already knew why Marinette wasn’t in Paris the last four days.
“Yeah. Sorry for not telling you guys. It was sorta last minute. Thankfully, he wasn’t kidnapped actually. His biological mother picked him up but never told his father that she was taking him. I just came back last night. Dami followed me to make sure I am okay.”
“What a bunch of bullcrap.” Alya said, “I don’t believe you.”
Oh. The irony... “Alya, I don’t care if you do. My life is my own business. So keep your nosy nose out of it. Your opinions don’t matter to me anymore, stranger.” Marinette internally was tired of this silly routine and wanted this to end already.
Alya wanted to pick a fight with her over the smallest things she did for the past months. She wondered why her former best friend hated her this much.
“Lila told me that you were skipping school and you paid an actor to be your pretend boyfriend.”
Pretending to not hear what Alya said, Marinette turned towards Chloe, “Hey, you never told me about how you met Tim. I can’t believe that you two are friends.”
“We met at one of those charity galas-”
“Hey, we were talking to you.” Alya cut her off. To which Chloe glared at the ombre-haired girl.
“I thought our conversation was done. What else am I supposed to say?”
Marinette was frustrated and hid that fact well, showing any reaction would give the game away. If she had reacted, it would further fuel the fire of Alya’s self-righteousness, making her believe that Marinette was somehow guilty of what Lila told her about. Lila managed to turn nearly the entire class against her by appealing to their ‘hero’ side and outbursts from Marinette and the others made them more sure of themselves of being in the right. It was so deep-rooted that nothing would sway them to logical reasoning. Maybe except Phase 2. Phase 1 was made a little easier when Talia kidnapped her and made her miss a few days of school.
Phase 2 was to not acknowledge the lies or just appear uninterested. It would illustrate the point that people don’t have to listen to them if they don’t want to. If possible, sow little seeds of doubt to the ones Lila had a looser grip on. The more people they can slowly get on their side, the better.
Alya was confused, usually Marinette would throw a ‘temper tantrum’ about how she didn’t do that and Lila lied.“I-, you should-, You should apologize to Lila.”
Marinette raised an eyebrow, “For what this time?”
“For saying that she was lying.”
“Pray tell, when did in any of our conversations so far did I do that? I mean I don’t like the fact that she just accused me with little evidence of paying my someone to be my boyfriend but I am not going to fight with anyone over it. Maybe I did do that, Maybe I didn’t. Maybe there is a good reason I did those things. The thing is Lila should keep to her own business and I will keep to mine. And as should you. I know you are a reporter at heart but you should at the very least respect my privacy.”
Alya stayed silent, fuming. Everyone was looking at them now. She realized that the designer was right and if she pushed further, she would be the bad guy.
“I thought so. Now, go away. I have nothing else to say to you. Let Chloe finish her story of how she met Tim which you so rudely interrupted.”
“Who’s Tim?” Lila asked, wanting to know more about Marinette’s boyfriend to work on an angle to get him away from the ravenette.
“Mari-Bug’s boyfriend’s older brother. Now, shoo peasants, we are talking. Anyways, Mommy took me to when I was younger so I could mingle with all the other rich kids and get connections. Timothy was there and back then, he was still with the Drakes...”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lila and Alya returned to their seats, both were visibly upset although Lila was seething inside. When Marinette was not at school for the last two days, the Italian thought that it was the last she had seen of her. Today, she showed up with a handsome boy on her arm and by the looks of his clothes, rich too. If she manages to get ‘Damian’ to break up with that pest and date her instead, then she would have a rich, handsome boyfriend devoted to her and that brat would be so heart-broken that an akuma so powerful would be made that even Ladybug won’t be able to defeat. A two for one deal. Lila started planning (scheming) to take her boyfriend away.

What Team? (pt. 2)
(yes, everytime i see “what team?” i think “wildcats!” and i just couldn’t help myself with the title heehee)
I hope this meets all of your expectations! if not then sorry i guess lmao. if there are mistakes or inconsistencies let me know(:
So I got a little carried away and this is much MUCH longer than the first part so... sorry? you’re welcome? idk but turns out the story has not progressed but it basically has so let’s say it did. I also got a little carried away with Alix meeting the waynes... (Also I should add I don't know squat about roller blading)
Part 1
Based on this post by @unmaskedagain
--------
Alix wasn’t stupid, granted her best friend was Kim and together they were pretty stupid, but Alix was not inherently stupid, Kim just lowered her IQ by a significant amount just by being around him, ok? Not her fault. But anyways, point being, Alix was not stupid, she could see the way Lila's face morphed to disgust when she looked at Marinette and thought no one was watching, or when she sneered at the backs of all of her classmates when they turned around, so of course she knew why Lila really tried to force "Lukanette" down everyone's throats, she wanted to be on top. Alix aslo prided herself in not having problems such as crushes, why bother yourself when clearly people are not… hot, attractive, sexy, ect. Alix didn’t understand how or why people so desperately wanted to kiss each other but not having that urge really brought light to her class’ situation. She had learned from the way Kim used to look at Chloe and the way Max looked at Kim and the way Marinette looked at Adrien, there were plenty more examples, like Mylene and Ivan, anyways, they all had the same look even if they were trying to hide it. Lila looked at Marinette with that same look but hidden under disgust, but then again she also looked at Adrien that way too, without disgust and hate though. But she also hated Marinette, plain and simple. Wait, definitely not simple. As for why she hated Marinette, Alix just hadn't gotten that far yet, but she was sure it had something to do with Adrien. And being a closeted gay.
As for everyone else it was no secret that Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Lila Rossi did NOT like each other but lucky, or unlucky depending on how you look at it, the class simply ignored the both of them when they tried talking about the other.
Marinette, picking up on the fact that she won that battle, stopped trying to tell everyone about Lila’s obvious lies. She knew the girl still had it out for her but she was completely powerless when it came to taking Marinette’s friends away. It was quite exhausting listening to Lila and not being able to say anything that would disprove her lies because no matter how sound her proof was her classmates wouldn’t listen. And Marinette honestly just wanted to sleep.
Lately she didn’t know what was going on, all week people kept whispering and would change the conversation when she arrived. She thought they were talking behind her back but they never gave her dirty looks, in fact they were even more friendly and she got a large increase of “morning Marinette!” and “How are you doing?” which was only slightly confusing. At least they were finally being as friendly and considerate towards her as she was towards them.
“Hey Marinette?” Marinette looked up from her sketchbook as her thoughts scattered to see Juleka nervously tapping on her desk with her nails while Rose stood behind her girlfriend with a look that could only be described as sparkly. Marinette raised an eyebrow but smiled kindly at them.
“Yes?”
“So, umm,” she cleared her throat nervously, “can you help me and Rose make shirts that say “Team Luka” on them?”
“Team lu- uhmm sure?”
Juleka gave her a rare smile and a soft “thanks” before returning to her seat with Rosa who squeaked “you're the best Marinette!” Marinette gave the girl a weak smile and a small nod of appreciation and just stared in confusion at the spot where the two girls stood previously.
What?
The heck?
“What was that all about?” Alya voiced Marinette’s thoughts and slid into her seat, poking Marinette’s arm to break the black haired girl out of her stupor.
“I'm... not sure....” She furrowed her brows in confusion. Who was Luka going against that required Juleka’s support? She hadn't heard of XY making headlines lately and Luka wasn't either, well she wasn’t really online either anyways. “They asked me to help them make Team Luka shirts.” She looked over to her friend and was brought to even more confusion. Alya looked… offended? But she quickly wiped the look off her face and pursed her lips together before turning to face the front saying,
“Interesting....”
After school Marinette, with Juleka and Rose, went to buy supplies before heading to the ship to meet with Luka. Together they made ten teal tie dyed shirts which they had printed “TEAM LUKA” on the center of it. Marinette tried asking what it was for but all three just redirected her so she eventually just dropped it.
As she was leaving Luka stopped her. “Thank you, Marinette,” he said softly, “you really are a wonderful girl, you deserve the world.” Of course that made Marinette blush, what was up with this guy and his cute, mushy words?
“Thanks, Luka. An- and don’t worry about it! Anything for you,” she trailed off for a moment before rushing to add, “and your family of course. Obviously.” She chuckled nervously while Luka just gave her an amused smile.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Have a wonderful evening, Marinette.” He turned and walked back onto the ship, leaving Marinette weak in the knees. She quickly steeled her nerves then chastised herself while walking away. Stop feeling for multiple boys. Stop feeling for multiple boys. Stop feeling….
---
Alya was not happy to find Juleka and Rose wearing teal tie dyed shirts saying “TEAM LUKA” printed on them. So they want to play THAT game. Ok. She can deal with that. In her desire to plan she missed Marinette’s rambles throughout class and the bell that signaling the start of lunch.
“ALYA!” she snapped her head to the source of the sound to find the one and only Chloe Bourgeois with a hand on her hip and pursed lips. She looked around the room to find it completely empty except for the two of them.
“Chloe!” she scooched over the bench and hopped up, accidentally almost bumping noses with the blonde girl from being too close but Chloe just gave a disgusted face and quickly took a step back. “Just the person I needed! Did you SEE those shirts?” Chloe huffed and rolled her eyes.
“Of course I did, Césaire. That is the only reason you will be spending more time than I am comfortable with in my presence. Come on.” She turned her heel and strutted out of the classroom while Alya scrambled to grab all of her belongings.
---
Not long at all after Marinette saw Juleka and Rose (Ivan quickly following suit) wearing the Team Luka shirts, Alya and Chloe, a pairing Marinette NEVER saw coming, walked in with matching shirts, orange for Alya and yellow for Chloe, with a fancy, clean font spelling out “Team Adrien” on the front and a bold “SUCK IT” on the back. Marinette watched Alya approach her seat with her jaw hanging loose.
WHAT WAS GOING ON???
“What is- you know what? Nevermind. I don’t want to know.” Alya smirked and slid into her seat. “You purposefully came last didn’t you?”
“Yep!” Alya replied happily while pulling her phone out and started typing furiously.
“Babe, where’s my shirt?” Nino had turned around and gave his girlfriend puppy eyes.
“Oh, here you go,” she pulled a green shirt out of her bag and tossed it to him while Adrien watched with interest. A sound of excitement escaped Nino when he caught the shirt and he opened it up to see the front which revealed the back of the shirt to Marinette. She felt the blood drain from her face and she lifted her hand to cover her mouth in horror. The back had a perfect snapshot of Adrien’s side profile from his ad for cologne when he was gliding through the air. Marinette glanced at Adrien and saw that his jaw had dropped and his face started to burn a deep red. Marinette just wanted to cry. Nino flipped it over and Marinette saw “Team Adrien” in the same font of Chloe and Alya’s shirts while Nino let out an unearthly squeal.
“It’s PERFECT! Adrien! Look!” he flipped the shirt over to show Adrien but the blonde boy had already curled in on himself and hid his face in his arms.
“Whyyyyy, Alyaaaaa.” Alya smirked and looked up from her phone.
“Don’t worry Adrien, we’re rooting for you.”
Marinette cried (internally) that night as she prayed to every Kwami she knew to save her soul.
---
Adrien didn’t know what was going on, at first when he saw Luka’s shirts he really wanted one too to show his support of his acquaintance. Adrien didn’t know the boy that well but he was very kind and any team that Luka was on Adrien wanted to be on too heehee. After his friends started wearing Team Adrien shirts he felt… conflicted. And slightly uncomfortable. He was happy his friends were supporting him but it just felt wrong to root for himself. So to counteract this he approached Juleka when the school ended and got his own shirt. The next day he changed into it after getting dropped off at school, obviously because his Father would make him burn the shirt if he ever saw Adrien wearing it, and when he came out of the restroom he found Lila climbing the stairs in her own Team Luka shirt. Her eyes shot up in surprise at the sight of him before a strained smile etched onto her lips.
“Lila! It’s great to see we’re on the same team.” He smiled kindly at her and gave a silent prayer to Plagg that she didn’t think he was flirting with her as she always seemed to assume.
“Indeed, Adrien.”
Everyday for the next week more and more people wore their own team shirts until the class was split in half, save for Nathanial, Marinette, and Alix. Adrien continuously tried to find out what the teams were for but someone always assured him that it was nothing to worry about.
It wasn’t until he saw Chloe’s retweet of Alix’s tweet that he realized that his class was warring over who was the better match, him or Luka, for one of Alix’s friends that apparently the entire class knew besides Nathanial and Marinette as they never picked a side. He wondered if he knew the person that the class was talking about and decided to logout of twitter before anything got out of hand as it usually did whenever Chloe was on twitter.
---
“We have a problem.” Dick stated to his two brothers and adoptive father.
“Ok, what’s new?” Jason asked lazily, polishing his gun.
“Marinette is trending on twitter.”
“What?” Tim pulled his phone out and started going through the app as Dick continued.
“Team Luka, Team Adrien, Lukanette, and Adrinette are trending on twitter. Take a wild guess what that could mean.” Bruce rolled his eyes and started to say,
“Dick we don’t have time for this,” but Dick cut him off mid sentence and spoke over him.
“These boys are getting fought over who would be a better fit for Marinette. OUR Marinette. As in Marinette Dupain-Cheng.” Jason stopped polishing his gun and actually looked at Dick while Tim gagged.
“What?” all three voices before him spoke up in unison. Dick was surprised that Bruce spoke up with a little more exasperation.
“No!” Bruce dropped his face into his hands and groaned. He was certainly taking this far worse than Dick thought he would. The older man raised his head and gave Dick a look he usually gave him when he was trusting him with an important mission, “take care of this, make sure none of those boys steal Marinette away from Damian.” Dick nodded his head once.
“Yes, sir.”
---
Marinette and the Waynes go way back, so far back that when Bruce let it slip that he and Alfred used to have a neighbor at a lake house who would repeatedly visit whenever Alfred was there the batboys KNEW they had to find the one and only Gina and meet her ENTIRE family. Marinette was ten at the time and was immediately enraptured by Damian’s “old man” personality and forced him to have fun like a child during his short stay. The Batboys, as much as they were scared of Damian and what he might do, immediately shipped them together, Jason (being the fanfiction writer/reader which he never admitted to anyone) deemed the ship “Daminette” which the others agreed to fervently. But now, five years later and three very determined Daminette shippers later, Damian and his brothers were on a plan to France to meet with Marinette.
“Momma Cheng! Papa Dupain!” Dick swung the bakery door open and sauntered in while the others trailed behind him rolling their eyes, except for Tim, Tim was excited for good coffee.
“Oh Richard!” Sabine walked around the counter and gave all the boys a quick hug and handed them off to her husband who cracked their backs with his monstrous hugs. Sabine reached Damian and pulled him into a hug before he could protest then held him at arm's length. “Oh my have you grown! Tom,” she turned her head to her husband while still holding onto Damian.
Tom set down Tim who stumbled and was caught by Dick before hitting the ground. “Yes, dear?”
“Hasn’t he grown so much? Such a handsome young man,” she let go and pinched his cheek which he pulled away from when suddenly he was lifted into a smoldering hug and felt the cr-rick cra-ack! of his spine. He wiggled in the grip finding he couldn’t get out but when he was placed back down he felt a little lightheaded and refused to stumble like an embarrassment Tim was.
“You fellas can grab some treats, Marinette won’t be home until pretty late but you boys are welcome to stay until she arrives” The boys all nodded in response and said their chorus of thank you’s and went to grab some pastries before heading to the inside of their home.
Jason quickly got restless and Dick followed him to babysit keep an eye on him while Tim pulled out his computer and started typing away. Damian got bored and decided to explore. He knew it was probably inappropriate but he politely asked Sabine if he could go up to Marinette’s balcony knowing she probably kept her garden growing up there when she started it out of spite of him after he insulted her capabilities to take care of another thing, much less herself. He was pleased, and slightly annoyed, to find a beautiful garden with an array of flowers, herbal plants and even a beautiful small tree.
After a while being by himself a ragged looking cat sauntered over to the balcony and Damian quickly made friends with the animal and deemed it sweet and good and no harm would ever come to such an animal under his watch. He decided she was worthy to carry the name Enibas and smiled as she curled up on his chest while they both drifted off to sleep on the deck chair.
---
Alix re-strapped her skates and got back up, ignoring the pain in her badly scraped hip and rolled out her shoulder while skating back uphill to the beginning of her obstacle course. She spun around and narrowed her eyes at the several cones placed strategically in front of her. She had set up her area by the Eiffel Tower and the locals already knew to steer clear as she had been doing this regularly for the past seven years ever since she got her first pair of skates. She blocked everything and anything out of her mind and focused on her breathing and steadied her body, with one more huff of breath she shot out towards the cones.
First: three cones placed closely together in a line and a fourth further behind, she spun in circles and lifted her heel of her right foot and toes of her and glided through the three cones quickly, she then jumped in the air and spun in a circle in midair over the fourth cone in a slight pirouette position before landed on her left foot with her arms out, bent over slightly, and her right leg sticking out behind her.
Second: she was still gliding very fast and twisting her extended leg gave her the momentum to face behind her, there were no cones but she knew what to do. She bent the leg supporting her and cut to the right and expertly landed on her padded hand and using the walled walkway beside her she pushed her left leg out to skate alongside and up the wall. Placing her other hand on the ground she pushed her body up high, higher than anybody should be able to do but given the fact she discovered Fluff gave her a bit of an advantage, she twirled and twisted to land on both feet. Once again Alix was facing downhill and even though she lost a lot of speed with the last move she was gaining again.
Third: there was a little makeshift ramp, Alix huffed again and pushed herself downhill. She would make it this time. Going as fast as she thought was safe, she skated on top of the ramp and keeping her legs straight she let it lift her, Alix let herself fly for a bit letting her legs carry up as her upper body fell before tucking her legs in to quicken the flip. However, instead of flipping too fast like last time, slipping, and slamming onto her shoulder, she went higher than she anticipated and shot her legs out to reach the ground quicker and ungracefully swung her arms about to prevent her from falling backwards again. She thumped onto the ground but before she could celebrate her success of landing on two feet she tripped from the unbalance and yelled FU**!” before smashing into the ground.
Alix groaned from the pain and thanked the Kwami’s she always wore her helmet, if not she was sure she'd have much more than just a scratched chin.
“Are you okay?” a panicked man’s voice entered her ears and without moving to see who it was she gave a thumbs up.
“Holy sh** that was AWESOME!” another man’s voice invaded her ears again. Great. American tourists.
Alix pushed herself up to see who it was speaking to find, what most would call, a handsome gentleman with black hair and clear blue eyes filled with worry. She looked over at the other man who looked pretty much the same except with a weird strip of white hair and was typing furiously on his phone.
“Oi!” she pointed at the white striped hair dude, “di**head, did you take a video? Where are you sending it?”
“Jason!” the first with the blue eyes looked back at his… partner? “Don’t send that to anyone, alright?” The guy looked between the man in front of Alix then to her before shrugging.
“I wasn’t going to.” Alix still stared at him while he went back to his phone but walked up to the two on the ground.
“Are you sure you're ok, miss?” the man in front of her asked. She looked back at him and raised an eyebrow.
“I've been doing this since I was eight. I’ve had worse.” the guy nodded then smiled brightly.
“That was very impressive though.” He stood up and offered his hand which she took and stood up with him. “Do you mind if I join you? I would love it if I could. I’ve never actually done flips and stuff with skates but I think I can handle it. So can I?” His smile was so big and innocent that Alix laughed at him.
“I’m sorry but this isn’t exactly something you can just pick up and be good at, I’ve fallen enough times I won’t break a bone and while he,” Alix pointed at the other guy, “might be able to take a few crashes you don’t look like you’ve ever been in a serious harm. Like ever. No offence or anything I just don’t want some broken bones blamed on me.” She replied as nicely as she could but the man just started laughing.
“How about I show you what I can do on skates first and if you deem me unworthy I’ll take my leave.” Alix narrowed her eyes at him then gave him a slow nod. “Great!” he whipped out his phone and started texting someone while Alix just turned around and headed for her water bottle. These guys were weird.
Ten minutes later another guy showed up, Tim, as Alix was informed earlier, also had black hair and blue eyes except he seemed younger and was skinnier than the other two, and was carrying three pairs of new skates. Alix gawked at him, those were some of the nicest, most expensive pairs of skates in Paris and he had three. Yup. These were some rich fools.
Dick, as he introduced himself as (Alix laughed at him for such an unfortunate name), squealed and rushed to put on a pair of skates and wheeled around doing impressive jumps and moves that he really had no right doing while Jason yelled “I told you not to get me a pair!” the new boy shrugged and put his own on. Alix sighed and shook her head, accepting that these particular rich fools would be quite stubborn.
“Ok. I’m ready.” Alix turned towards Dick who looked at her expectantly.
“Ok. What are you waiting for, am I supposed to help you with something or?”
“Oh! Uh… can I do the course? He pointed downhill at her makeshift course and she nodded.
“Sure. Don’t blame me when you crack your head open, you should really get a helmet by the way.”
“Oh don’t worry,” he waved her off and smiled like he wasn’t in actual danger, “I do stuff like this all the time.” He readied himself and went through her course, not as dramatic as she had done but toned down motions and movements and when he got to the ramp he jumped as far up as he could but didn’t flip. He skated back up and went through again adding a little more complicated movements through it. Alix watched with interest as Tim skated up to her side and stuck a hand out.
“Hello, I’m Tim.”
“I know.” Alix accepted his hand shake, “I’m Alix,” she replied before returning to watching Dick go through the course.
“I hope we’re not bothering you too much. I saw the video and I really wanted to meet you and I knew Dick here would love to do some stunts of his own. Did he already tell you what you did wrong with that flip that made you lose your balance?”
“Huh? He’s good but I don’t think he’ll be flipping on skates anytime soon.”
“Oh, actually we all kind of do crazy stunts like this on a daily basis and he specializes in acrobats so I just figured he told you already.”
“Ok! I think I’m ready!” Dick called out after his fourth round skating up the hill.
“No,” Alix breathed out. “He’s not gonna do the backflip is he?”
“Yup,” Tim lightly chuckled. “Sorry we’re all a little crazy.”
“This is for you, Alix.”
“Wait, no-” but Dick ignored her and started through the course again. He skated skillfully around the cones and did a perfect pirouette over the fourth cone as if he’d been doing it for years and did his own little crazy stint with a backflip then raced towards the ramp and with straight legs he let his legs fly up and his head drop much longer than she was comfortable with, then tucked his legs in but not as much as she did and landed perfectly and glided down the hill with his arms raised up like a gymnast.
“What!?” Alix yelled. She was highly peeved. She’s been trying this for the past week and he tries and lands on the first try!? Unfair. So unfair.
“Can I try?” Tim asked. Alix whipped her head to him and scoffed.
“Not you too? You're going to just flip like it's nothing too? No. No no no. Dick!” she yelled out unintentionally calling him the American curse word in the process to the man who turned around and started towards them.
“Yeah?” Alix waited until he stopped in front of her.
“How did you do that?”
“I just waited a bit longer before tucking my knees in. I noticed that you tucked too early and brought your knees too close to your chest which made you over flip. And by waiting a little longer you would have dropped a little further so you wouldn’t have struggled with being too high.” Alix huffed in annoyance.
“Ok… ok…. My turn, I’m going to get it this time.”
Alix went to the beginning of the course and took a deep breath, blocking everything out and shot out. She did her tricks and jumps and when she got to the ramp she felt a rush of adrenaline from the slight fear. She went up as high as she could and her legs went up and her upper body dropped. She waited past her comfort zone and looked down to the approaching ground. Then everything clicked. She tucked her legs in, following Dick’s words, and straightened them out again until they were slightly bent and landed. She whooped and pumped her fists in the air. She’d finally done it! She turned back around to find Jason on the side with his camera out and cheering her on while Tim and Dick did the same but without their phones. She laughed and skated back up the hill.
“I finally got it!”
“Yes!” Tim held out a hand and she high-fived it. “That was awesome! You are amazing!” Alix grinned widely at the praise.
“Thanks! I just have to land at least ten more times in a row,” she said as she readied herself to go again.
“Wait, I can’t go yet?”
“My course, my rules.” Tim smiled and nodded his head.
“Good point.”
For the next two hours Alix skated with the two boys and conversed with Jason when she was taking a break. That’s how she found out they were in Paris because of Marinette and refused to have two boys fighting over Marinette when she was already taken, well not yet but they were determined to get their brother Damian and Marinette together. She then decided she liked Jason, despite him taking unwanted videos though they turned out to be fun to watch (she cringed when she saw herself faceplant in the first video). It was nice to see people like the three of them looking out for Marinette, heaven knows she doesn’t have a guardian angel because she gets into way too much trouble without even trying, though the three of them were also troublemakers and chaos was basically Alix’s occupation. It was 19 hours (7:00) when they had to go but Alix was very excited when they invited her over with them to meet Marinette who they hadn’t seen in several years.
---
Marinette sighed from exhaustion as she pushed the front door of her parent’s bakery open. She had been working nonstop with Jagged Stone on his new stage outfits, she loved the guy but he was a handful sometimes.
“Marinette!” She looked up and gave her mother a tired smile while the woman handed a pastry to a customer. “Have a wonderful day,” she told the customer before walking around the counter as the man left and hugged her daughter. “We have some guests who came to visit you.” Mrs. Cheng smiled brightly at Marinette who scrunched her brows together in confusion.
“Who?” Her mother shook her head and pushed her towards the entrance to their home.
“You’ll see.”
Marinette walked through the door to find Alix wrestling Jason Todd to the ground while the man was pushing her face away with a pillow and Tim Drake watching, but not really watching, as he sipped on something she assumed was coffee, and Dick Grayson who was ignoring them all, laying on the couch watching spongebob in french. She cleared her throat to get their attention but nothing happened.
“Excuse me.” she called out but again, nothing.
“ExCUSE me.” Nothing besides Alix’s ‘hmph’ as Jason flipped her over and stood up, lightly smacking her with the pillow while yelling. “Taste defeat!”
“HEY!” Marinette finally yelled out. All four heads snapped to her and everything was silent for a moment before chaos erupted and all the three boys started shouting and squealing (Dick) and clamoring for hugs.
“Mari!”
“Nettie!”
“MY FAVORITE SISTER!”
Marinette made a strangled noise as they all squeezed the life out of her. Marinette was smiling and laughing with them but was very glad when she was finally back on her own feet.
“What are you guys doing here?”
“What, we can’t visit our little sister?” Jason asked innocently and Marinette crossed her arms and looked at him with disbelief etched in every part of her.
“Ok so we heard about your situation in your class and-”
“Hey!” Alix suddenly cut in and stuttered when all eyes were on her. “I mean, hey, so I was just hanging out with these guys all day and they’re all hungry, let’s fix them something to eat?” She looked at Marinette in question then clapped her hands together and nodded once to confirm it with herself. “Yes.”
Marinette looked at her suspiciously then at her pseudo brothers who suddenly started nodding in confirmation.
“Yes, food.”
“Yup.”
“Hunger is a thing I have.” Jason’s stomach grumbled as if on cue which broke Marinette’s suspicion and she giggled at him.
“Ok, spaghetti it is. Blue Bird, you're on cutting duty, Tim-Tam, you get the ingredients, Jay-Jay…. Alix, keep Jason busy.”
After a few minutes bustling around the kitchen Marinette suddenly remembered something and she turned to Dick, “Where’s the old man?”
After dinner was made Dick bounded into her room claiming Damian was napping on her balcony which Marinette smiled to in triumph but when Damian came downstairs her triumph washed away along with her soul.
Marinette was doing fine all day. She was completely rational and fine. She was fine. Currently she is NOT fine. She is NOT ok. And as for Damian? He was fine alright. Oh boy was he fine. As soon as he walked down from her trapdoor her jaw dropped to the floor.
---
Alix shook her head, she was having quite the time watching Marinette’s reaction to her childhood friend but felt a rush of relief that she didn’t have Marinette Problems.
“Seriously, Marinette? Close your mouth.” The girl snapped her mouth shut and tore her eyes away from Damian to land on the skater.
“Alix,” she hissed, “why is he so damn hot?” Alix smirked at her friend’s rare use of a curse word and watched as Marinette’s face started to pinken and she ducked behind the kitchen counter. Alix leaned over the counter and saw the tip of her friend’s head.
“Relax,” she tried to be reassuring but couldn’t stop grinning. She heard footsteps get closer and whispered, “he’s coming,” before plopping back onto her seat.
Damian walked into Marinette’s view and stopped to look at her on the floor with a scowl that Alix was sure was not helping Marinette’s situation.
“What are you doing on the floor, Dupain-Cheng?” Alix snickered while Marinette shot up on her feet.
“He’s a male Chloe Bourgeois!” she said mostly to herself.
“None of your business. I see you haven’t changed a bit, Old Man.” Damian scoffed.
“Neither have you, it seems, Sunshine Face.” Wow. Bad nickname.
“Oh,” Marinette placed her hands on her hips and cocked her head to the side, “so you still admit my face is pretty?” Oooo, where did Marinette get her game?
“What? No. More like I can’t look at it for too long because-”
Marinette began waving her hands back and forth to get him to stop, “ok ok ok,” where was she getting this confidence? She was literally hiding from him five seconds ago. “When you explain it, it loses the humor, did you learn nothing all those years ago?” Marinette shakes her head and Alix silently agrees, “pity. Anyways, my cooking has improved, as well as everything about me, I have clearly surpassed you, and here is some spaghetti we made while you were napping.” She grabbed a plate and waved her hand towards the food still on the stove while handing it to him, “help yourself.” She walked by him and headed to the couch where Jason and Dick had settled and plopped between them while they played video games. Alix nodded in approval as she watched Marinette walk away. When she turned back she found Damian watching her as well with cheeks slightly tinted pink. Wow. Does every boy she talks to fall for her? Even Kagami, poor soul, had fallen for Marinette as quickly as she could say “Begone, Adrien.”
This is going to be a fun week.
---
Marinette groaned in despair. Nino walked in with a blue shirt with a white outline of Adrien’s face like he was some kind of pop star and a red hat that of course said “Team Adrien”
“What's next,” Marinette mumbled to herself while leaning back and crossing her arms, “Team Damian?” Marinette heard a gasp and turned to see Alix staring at her like she had the greatest idea ever.
Very suddenly things clicked for Marinette. Her classmates were picking sides of who she should date. Adrien or Luka. It was literally the only connection she could find between the two boys, they only had about one or two conversations together in their entire lives and Marinette was definitely terrible at keeping her crushes secret so there was no way that at least Kitty Section would know about it. And thinking about Kitty Section they were the ones who started it. Oh no. Marinette made those shirts. Does Luka know? Probably. Adrien definitely doesn’t. Wwwooowww. Some friends she has.
And now Alix.
That BRAT! She was typing something on her phone… oh no.
“Alix,” Marinette said slowly as if approaching a rabid dog while unraveling her arms from her body. “Alix, no!” She jumped from her seat and lunged for the skater over Mylene who merely leaned back in her seat as if she’d been through this a million times. Alix jumped back while continuing to type then very clearly pressing send. “Noooooo…” Marinette slumped onto Mylene’s lap who patted the top of her head in pity.
She laid there for a moment taking in Mylene’s silent comfort before slowly standing up and ignoring everyone’s stares. She straightened her clothes saying a polite, “thank you, Mylene,” and a nod at her before focusing her gaze on Alix. “You’re dead, Kubdel,” she said then turning around and sitting straight backed on her seat trying desperately to ignore another snapshot of Adrien in a Gabriel line of workout clothes showing off his muscles on the back of Nino’s new shirt.
Marinette was slowly losing her mind.
---
The next day Alix walked in with a black shirt with green bold font saying “TEAM DAMIAN” on the front and she could feel Marinette staring daggers at her. She purposefully exposed her back to the class so they could see the “FIND YOUR OWN GIRL” printed on the back.
Alix ignored the stares while pulling out her school things until she heard Lila’s sickening sweet voice call out to, “who’s Damian?” Alix waited for a beat to make sure everyone was listening before smiling smugly, she couldn’t help it, and shrugging.
“Damian Wayne, obviously.”
---
Marinette would deny it but she felt a sick sort of satisfaction when Lila’s face paled.
BONUS:
“Plagg!” Adrien sounded exasperated and the little god chuckled evilly. It was such fun to tease his holder. The boy hadn’t caught on that his infatuation with Ladybug was just that: infatuation. He couldn’t see that he merely admired the girl, his father saw to it that Adrien was so sheltered that he couldn’t separate his feelings of the different types of love.
“Just saying, I know what you're doing there, “chaton”,” plagg mimicked Luka’s voice perfectly on the last word which instantly made Adrien become very red in the face, “you and I know what team you play for.” He threw the boy a wink and cackled before leaving him to ponder his words as he searched for more Camembert.
---
Felix rolled his eyes at his phone and quickly pressed the unfollow button on his cousin. What an embarrassment. He had absolutely no clue what he was throwing away because of his naïvety.
---
“I can feel your rage from here, Kagami.”
“Sorry, mother.” Kagami’s mother nodded her head as an acceptance of her apology.
“I’ve heard about that pesky little feud Gabriel’s child is in.” She stayed quiet for a moment but Kagami didn’t break the silence. “You are a Tsurugi, Kagami. No hesitation.” Kagami couldn’t stop the little smile that slid onto her face.
“Yes, mother,” she said quietly.
-------
Team Luka:
Lila, Juleka, Rose, Ivan, Sabrina, Adrien
Team Adrien:
Alya, Chloe, Nino, Kim, Max, Mylene
Team Damian:
Alix, Dick, Tim, Jason, Bruce
some long ass notes:
I didn’t add kagami and felix into the mix because it would really complicate things but for clarification in my mind Marinette and everyone is between 14-16 and Marinette doesn’t know it but she does have feelings for kagami but she's focused on the other two boys, she knows she likes boys and doesn't want to think about girls since it would complicate her situation and open a door to many more problems with her poor little teen heart. Kagami knows she likes Marinette though, she took one look at marinette and said “nope. Bye Adrien.”
SO i think it be pretty cool if whoever wants to can reply with their own versions of whatever ships they want and the characters interactions with them. I won’t be actually putting any characters together as to leave the imagination up to the reader but if you want you can go ahead and add yourselves to whatever team you want (:

 Success is the Best Kind of Revenge
I didn’t want to feel smug, I really didn’t, but I just couldn’t help the pin prick of smugness. My entire classes sat around, horribly disappointed in our Lycée classroom. Many of them had gotten responses for Universities jobs, and internships over the winter semester. They hadn’t turned out well.
Alya had applied to a job at a newspaper, applied to three internships and sent four university applications out. She lost every one of them. Nino hadn’t gotten his internship either nor did he get into the music school he wanted. Kim had a scholarship and college acceptance revoked, and the two other Universities who had been offering swimming scholarships pulled their offers back too. Ivan and Myléne had both been under investigation over the break for charity fraud. Though they were cleared, no other charities wanted their help and their university had pulled their acceptance out.
Rose’s eyes were still red and raw looking. Prince Ali had cut all contact with Rose and she was denied from her music schools. All of Max’s scholarships and every since school he applied to, all fourteen of them, pulled back their acceptance. Nathaniel’s comic strip was no longer being printed and there was a pending copyright suit. Sabrina was under investigation too, for theft, breaking and entering as well as illegal photography. Her university denied her as well. She assisted Lila and Alya in harassing me over the past few years. Adrien was sitting in his seat, a numb sort of look over his face as Nino patted his shoulder. Lila, however, was the only happy one in the class. She had a firm grip on Adrien’s arm as she chatted to an unset Alya about how she helped catch Hawkmoth with Ladybug.
The only reason I knew all of this was because of their parents. Despite their children no longer speaking to me, my classmates' parents and siblings were still in good relations with my family. Their parents had described their disappointment and confusion to my parents after all of the university issues.
I was sitting in the back with a sad looking Juleka, an annoyed Alix and an over smug Chloe. A weird sort of girl group that formed as the rest of the class refused to grow up. I wanted to feel bad, I really did, but honestly, they made their own graves. I tried to warn them, I tried to keep them from this. They choose the fool’s gold.
Alix, Chloe and Juleka came to the light. Chloe figured it out the quickest, many of Lila’s lies had holes in them. Chloe saw the holes quite easily. Juleka became wary of Lila after Luka met her. Apparently, Lila’s inner song is like nails on chalkboards and dying kittens. As for Alix, she had asked Lila about the Rabbit Miraculous only for Lila to tell her that it was wielded by a man in the future. Either way, they all saw what was really going on.
Mrs. Bustier walks into the room just as the bell rings, a large smile on her face. “Hello everyone. I hope you had a good break. Did everyone do their homework?” Most of the classmates looked down at those words. Our winter break homework, making a list of options for after Lycée this year. Normally we’d have private meetings about all of this today, while the rest of us worked in the library. Mrs. Bustier decided that our class would share our options with everyone else.
“Well, would anyone like to start? Alya?” Mrs. Bustier gives a big smile to my former best friend.
Alya’s face pales and she mumbles for a second before clearing her throat. “I, ahh. I’ve decided to take a year off, to do a year of work. There’s a grocery store that has some openings for me and the Zoo where my Dad works is hiring summer people for the gift shop and concessions.”
Mrs. Bustier’s smile drops. “Alya, what about your internships at the newspaper, or the one at TVi?”
Alya looks down. “I didn’t get them.”
“What about Goldsmith University in London? Or Cardiff University? Of the University of Amsterdam? Or ESJ Paris? You were looking forward to all of the programs these schools offered.”
Alya’s hand on the desk clenches. “I didn’t get in.”
Mrs. Bustier’s smile was completely gone now. “What?”
“All four Universities denied me. I didn't get into any of them.”
“Oh.” Mrs. Bustier blushes a deep red and looks around to the room before settling on me. She nudges her head towards Alya, telling me to comfort my classmate.
I raise an eyebrow at her, causing her blush to deepen. She did that everytime I reminded her, either subtly or not, that she couldn’t put all of her responsibilities onto a child. Regardless, I spoke up. I really did feel some pity for the class. “I’m sorry about that Alya. Try again next year. A job or something might help boost your application.”
Alya whips around and glares at me. “I don’t need your pity! I’ll be fine! Unlike you, you’ll just be a nobody. I bet not a single University in the whole world wanted you!” I sigh and glance over at Mrs. Bustier. She remained silent as Alya rips into me. Typical.
Chloe lets out a small laugh. “You’re one to talk.”
Alya’s face heats up again and Mrs. Bustier finally cleared her throat. “Well, let’s move on. Nino, what about you? What about that school in America?”
Nino rubs the back of his head. “I, uh. I heard back. They don’t think I’m ready to start at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. I didn’t get the internship either, the one in Hollywood. My parents are letting me keep my DJ work up next year, but I have to find a job.”
Mrs. Bustier’s smile is obviously forced now. She’d spent the whole break bragging about her classmates on social media and in an interview. So far, the class was not doing so well. “Rose? How about you? What music school are you going to?”
Rose immediately starts to tear up. “None of them! Julliad didn’t want me! Neither did the Royal Academy of Music or Royal College of Music in London. They said my music wasn’t good enough!”
Rose was just about sobbing at this point in front of me. Juleka looks even more sad and I agreed with her. Rose’s lyrics were actually pretty good, until Lila got a hold of her. Now the music was less inspiring and unique.
Mrs. Bustier looks up at me. A desperate plea in her eyes. I look away almost instantly, pulling out a small thing of tissues. I pass them over to Rose’s shoulder, getting a soft thank you in response. Juleka pulls out her phone and starts to text. More than likely offering a shoulder for Rose to cry on after class.
Mrs. Bustier fumbles with her hands for a minute, looking around the class. “Sabrina, what about you? Do you still want that social justice degree?”
Sabrina drops her head into her arms. “No. I’m not going to University next year. My father wants me to stay in Paris with him until next year. He’s...worried about me.”
Mrs. Bustier’s eyes are a little more frantic now. “Myléne! Ivan! How about you two? Where do you hope to go to University next year?”
Myléne sinks in her seat. Ivan glances around the room like he’s hoping someone will help. No one does. “We’re ah, taking a year off too. Our summer volunteer trip in Africa fell through also. So, we’re sticking around for a while. Looking at our options.” Myléne nods.
“Oh, good for you.” Mrs. Bustier looks around the room again. She avoided us. No surprise. Unlike the rest of the class, we really didn’t get much time to discuss our future with Mrs. Bustier. She seemed to be focusing on the students she believed would be going somewhere. “Kim! How about that swimming scholarship?”
Kim flushes red too. “I uh. I’m not going to be swimming in the fall. I’m thinking about some basic classes at a local university.”
“What about the scholarship?”
Kim’s eyes darted around, briefly looking at me, before continuing on. “I lost it. There were some issues, I didn’t qualify anymore.”
“Nathaniel! What about you? Did your new comic strip kick off?”
Nathenial’s head drops to his desk and he moans. The whole class stares in shock. Nathenial shakes his head on the desk, another moan emitting from below the red hair.
“Max!” There’s a look of comfort in Mrs. Bustier. Her smartest pupil would come through, wouldn’t he. “How about you?”
“I got denied. All fourteen schools denied me!” Max had a slight crazed look in his eyes. As I looked closer I could see how unkempt me was. His suspenders were a little askew, his hair wasn’t quite as controlled as usual, and his glasses weren’t straight. “Me, the kid who made an AI was denied from MIT, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, Berkeley, University of Tokyo, ETH Zürich, California’s Institute of Technology, Technical University of Munich, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Nanyang Technological University, Princeton, and Grenoble Institute of Technology. All of my scholarships, gone!” A hysterical laugh rips through Max as he sits in his seat.
Mrs. Bustier franic look was back as she scanned the room once more. She briefly looks up at the four of us then shakes her head. Alix rolls her eyes from across the row. Obviously Mrs. Bustier thought we’d all be failors too. Instead, she looks at Adrien and Lila.
“Adrien, what about you? Any University plans?”
Adrien’s mouth opens and closes a few times. “I’m moving in with my Aunt. I plan to teach piano to some kids in the fall. I have some… stuff to do with my father’s company this summer. I don’t think I’ll be going to a University anytime soon.”
“Lila!” Mrs. Bustier’s voice is high and cracking. “What about you? Still doing charity work? Going to University?”
Lila gives a huge smile to the whole class. “Yes. I’ll be working in Achu for a little bit this summer. I got into a few schools in the U.S, France, England and in Italy. I’m not sure where I want to study yet, but I’m sure I’ll be the next best thing in Fashion. Opps!” Lila looks up at me. “I’m sorry Marinette! I didn’t mean to offend you.”
I give a small, fake smile. “Don’t worry Lila. It’s fine. Maybe I’ll see you next year? What schools did you get into?”
Lila’s fasade drops slightly. “I, uh. Parson’s in New York, and um, Central Saint Martins in London, and um Accademia Costume e Moda in Rome. I decided to go to Central Saint Martins.”
“Impressive. I didn’t send anything to the Accademia in Rome, but I’m happy to see someone else got into Parson’s and Saint Martins.” My smile is a little sharp. I could afford to fake my congratulations when I knew that Lila’s tower was about to collapse underneath her.
“Marinette, you got into Parson’s and Saint Martins?” Mrs. Bustier’s smile was back and slightly crazed. “Which one of those will you be going to?”
“Neither. I did get into Parsons school of design in New York, as well as Central Saint Martin’s in London, but I’m not going to either of those.”
“What school will you be going to?” Mrs. Bustier’s eyebrows are furrowed.
“The London College of Fashion. I got into ESMOD in Paris, Istituto Marangoni International in Milan, as well as Parson’s School of Design and Central Saint Martins. I thought about staying in Paris, but I just wanted a little distance. You know, spread my wings.  I didn’t feel like going to New York either. It’s pretty far away. I almost agreed to go to the school in Milan, but I think I’m going to hold off on that school until I go to get a Master’s Degree. So, it was between London College of Fashion and Saint Martins and I just liked the London College more.”
“Oh, that’s fantastic Marinette!” Mrs. Bustier’s enthusiasm returns in full swing.
Alya snort ruins the moment. “If she’s even telling the truth.”
Lila blinks and then looks back up at me. “Yah, that’s true. How do we know you’re not lying. You’ve been doing that alot the last four years.”
Mrs. Bustier smile turns into a frown and she instead gives a glare meant for a child. “It’s not nice to lie, Marinette.”
A smirk earns its way onto my face. “I’m not lying. I don’t care if you believe me or not, but I’m not lying. I’ll be in London, come Fall, studying to be a world class fashion designer.”
Alya snorts again. Mrs. Bustier gives me an exasperated look, but freezes as she meets my gaze. Any sort of appreciation or respect for my teacher was gone, replaced by annoyance and I hold Mrs. Bustier’s gaze for over a full minute, causing the woman to fidget.
Chloe finally nudges me and clears her throat. “Well, I finally decided where I’ll be going in the fall. I even have a roommate picked out.” She nudges me with a smile.
“No way you’re going to University.” Alya’s teeth are bare as she all but growls at Chloe. “Who would want you?”
Chloe shrugs. “Oh, you know. Harvard, Stanford, Cambridge, Oxford, INSEAD, Bocconi University, and the London Business School. I’m going to the London Business School. It’s ranked third in the world for Business studies. The only places above it are Harvard and INSEAD, but I don’t want to move all the way to America quite yet and I was not staying in a town less than an hour from you all.”
The whole class looks at Chloe in surprise. That was something they never realized. Chloe didn’t put work in when she was younger because she didn’t have to. Everything was given to her until Lycée when our teachers finally started to push Chloe. Now, she was a budding business woman already helping me with my MDC company.
“No way!” Max looks up at Chloe. Anger in his eyes. “How did you get in and not me?”
Chlor rolls her eyes. “I’m fluent in French, English, Italian, Spanish, Mandarin, as well as Portugese. I have a 4.00 GPA and perfect grades in all my classes. I got all A* grades in my A level exams to get me into the Schools in London. I even took the ACT and SAT for the Universities in America. I got a 33 on the ACT and a 1520 on the SAT. I have been helping my Daddy with the hotel for over three years and I’ve had three different internships.”
The whole class is staring at Chloe. They wanted to argue, but Alix cuts them off first. “Well, if we’re done arguing about how Chloe got into top Universities. I’m attending Cambridge in the Fall, just like my Dad and brother. I’m also tagging along on a dig in China this summer. There’s this old temple the Louvre is investigating with several other museums and colleges.”
The class just stares at her, completely complex. Alix shrugs and looks at Juleka. “Juleka, your turn.”
Juleka pulls her hair back and clears her throat. “I’m attending Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London. I’ll be studying music and production arts. I’ve also been signed to a modeling agency in London, so I'll be doing that too.”
“So, you’ll all be living together?” Myléne looks at us curiously.
I shake my head. “No, Alix and Juleka will be living on Campus this year, in the dorms. Chloe and I will be sharing an apartment however. Our schools are only 30 minutes apart when walking.”
“We’ve already found a place. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a large kitchen. Mari gave me the Master Bed and Bath so she could convert one of the extra bedrooms into a studio.”
Alya scoffs. “You doing anything else this summer?” She tries to sound strong, but it comes off a bit flat.
“We’re all doing a Graduation trip to Italy, you know, because we couldn’t go on the class one. Juleka’s mom and Marinette’s Grandmother are chaperoning. We’ll be touring all of Italy over a month.” Alix gives the class a smile as someone knocks on the door.
Mrs. Bustier gives us a small smile and goes to the door. There’s a gasp and Mrs. Bustier slowly backs up. There’s four police officers just outside the classroom door along with a small collection of people. Two of the people have a strong resemblance to Lila, and another person has an Italian look. Another three people all standing together, looking over the class. Principle Damocles is present as well, looking very pale. More people are filtering in and I realize it’s the parents of most of our classmates. Each set of parents comes and stands next to their child or sits on the bench with them. Juleka’s Mom gives me a little wave as she sits next to her daughter.
Principle Damocles clears his throat. “Students, if I could have your attention please. There have been some... issues over the break that need to be addressed.”
Alya perks up. “Have you finally come to deal with Chloe and Marinette? They’ve been bullying poor Lila for years.”
“No.” One of the women who had been surveying the class turns to look at Alya. “We’re here for a variety of reasons. First of all, several students in this class are under investigation for a variety of charges. Second of all, almost every single one of you has ended being denied from every college you applied to. Lastly, We’re here to deal with the improper and naive mindsets that your Principal and Teacher have. Especially considering Ms. Rossi. Speaking of which.” The woman turns to Mrs. Bustier. “I’m not even going to touch your bluntly stupid way of dealing with bullies. That will be handled after all of this. Right now I’m going to ask why you threw every single rule about parental contact and special privileges out the window. You do not give students special privilege for medical conditions if they do not have doctors notes. You do not just ignore the fact that you can’t contact one of your students parents by anything but email. You don’t ignore when one of your students disappears willy nilly when every she feels like it.”
Mrs. Bustier opens and closes her mouth. “Who are you? I’ve been in contact with all of my students' parents.”
“I am Amelia Vaux, the Superintendent of Education in France. And no, you have not been in contact with all of your student’s parents. The email Lila Rossi gave you is an email she set up. Mrs. Rossi has never spoken to you, received an email or signed anything for the school. The woman is still operating under the assumption that your collége closed down for months at one point.”
“I, what?” Mrs. Bustier looks completely lost.
“Lila Rossi gave you a fake email and a fake phone number for her Mother. Lila Rossi’s father is not asstrange, despite what she has been saying. Lila Rossi has a clean bill of health according to a doctor's visit over break. No tinnitus, no arthritis, no sprains, no breaks, no vision issues, no hearing issues at all. The worst thing she’s had was a bad case of influenza when she was 11. Of course, this is ignoring the fact that the girl was diagnosed as a pathological liar and with antisocial personality disorder when the girl was 13 years old. It’s in her medical file and her student file, along with a warning about the girl’s bullying habits.”
Everyone was staring at Mrs. Vaux up front, the parents looked sick and my classmates were staring in disbelief. “No,” Alya is shaking her head. “This can’t be true. Marinette is the liar.”
Mrs. Vaux turns from Mrs. Bustier and look at Alya. “Actually, Mrs. Dupain-Cheng was telling the truth and has unfairly suffered for it for years. From what I understand, most of this class had vandalized Mrs. Dupain-Cheng’s belongings or stolen things from her. All on the words of Ms. Rossi, who’s lies could have been proven false by a google search. Jagged Stone is allergic to cats. Prince Ali only runs children’s charities. I could continue.”
One of the women in the room clears her voice at this point. “If I may, I am here on the behalf of several people of various nationalities.” She sets a pile of papers before Lila and Alya. “These are cease and desist orders for the both of you. The Ladyblog must be shut down and deleted on the ground of libel, slander, and a violation of rights. As for Ms. Rossi, you have multiple charges of libel, slander, illegal photography, and a variety of charges you order to be sent to famous people who don’t know you.” Lila was paling quickly. “You also have a case of breaking and entering, theft, copyright violation and assault.”
“I have diplomatic immunity. All you can do is kick me out of the country.” Lila stands up from her seat, a smug look on her face.
“No!” A woman with a heavy Italian accent frowns at Lila. “We have revoked your diplomatic immunity. You will be charged here, in France, and will serve out your sentence in a French Prison. Italy already made a mistake when they let you have therapy for your original incident instead of time in a juvenile detention center. We will not make that mistake again.”
A police officer clears his throat and looks over at Lila. “Lila Rossi. You are under arrest for breaking and entering, theft, copyright violation, assault, destruction of property, libel, slander, charity fraud and terrorism. Hawkmoth had a camera in his lair. We have videos of you visiting his lair. He also confirmed that you willingly took akumas, helped him akumatized people and a variety of other things.”
Lila stands frozen as the police officer cuffs her hands behind her back. She finally snaps out of it as she looks towards the other two Italian people. “Mamma! Pápa! Do something!”
The woman takes one look at Lila and then bursts into tears. She’s full on sobbing into her hands. The man simple lays a hand on Mrs. Rossi and levels his daughter with a deadly stare. “No Lila. We cannot help you out of this mess.”
Lila gaps and then glares at her father. “Why not?”
“You’re not a child anymore, Lila! You’re over 18! There’s video evidence of your crimes! That blog is filled with your lies! You can’t lie your way out of this. You can’t get off scot free! You’re being charged with terrorism!”
Lila gaps for another minute then screams. A blood-thirst, angry scream as she whips around and glares at me. “You! This is all your doing Dupain-Cheng! You stupid bitch!”
I level with Lila’s glare. “Yes. I got the ball rolling. You see, when you broke into my room before break and stole my designs so you could add them to your portfolio for University, you didn’t realize that I had a video camera set up. I got on camera, breaking and entering, theft, and copyright violation. I gave the evidence to the police. I didn't expect all of this, but I’m not sorry.”
Lila screams again and starts to fight the police, forcing the second cop to help grab Lila and drag her from the room. Lila’s parents follow them out, with the Italian woman giving the class a nod before following. The lawyer gives Mrs. Vaux a nod and follows after them.
The other two police officers exchange looks before one clears his throat. “When investigation Ms. Lila Rossi, all of you were brought up. Most of you have broken a variety of laws at the behest of Ms. Rossi. Whether you knew that you were breaking the law or not doesn’t matter. Most of you destroyed the property of one of your classmates, more than once. You also physically assaulted her on more than one occasion. We have the video footage to prove it.”
Several parents were moaning now, forlorn looks on their faces as they started to realize the consequences of their children’s actions.
“Oh, my god!” We all look over at Max who looked a second away from hyperventilating. “I wrote my University admissions paper about a project Lila worked on. She gave me all of the data!”
Max’s mother moans. “You didn’t look up any of it!”
Max flushes. “She said it hadn’t been published yet.”
Max’s mother mumbles under her breath. “This is why all those Universities denied you! This is why you lost all our University acceptances and scholarships! Because you took the word of some Italian classmate above your own common sense.”
“Max thought that a napkin could cut his eye.” Chloe starts to file her nails, ignoring Max’s mother, who was now staring at her. “And he wears glasses.”
Max’s mother moans once again, and slumps onto the steps next to Max’s seat.
The police officers exchange looks once again. The first one continues his speech as if he hadn’t been interrupted. “Due to the fact that most of your crimes were committed when you were a minor and were against the same person. There will not be any fines or jail time for any of you.”
There’s a large collective sigh through the room. Nino’s mother looks like she’s praying. Mrs.Vaux clears her throat. “While that may be true for legal terms, you are all on probation. One step out of line and you will be expelled from this school. You will also all have to complete anti-bullying seminars to graduate. Mrs. Bustier is also no longer your teacher. Mrs. Aveline will be your homeroom teacher for the rest of the year.” She gestures to one of the women behind her. “Mrs. Fortier is your temporary principle for the rest of the year. Mr. Damocles is no longer your principle.”
Rose hesitantly raises a hand. “Why are you firing Mrs. Bustier and Mr. Damocles?”
Mrs. Vaux’s frown deepens. “None of this would have happened if the two of them had done their jobs. Ms. Rossi’s habits were clearly outlined in her student file. If either of them had bothered to do their job correctly four years ago, we wouldn’t be in this position.” Rose nods meekly, sinking back into her seat and leaning into her mother.
The police officer clears his throat again. “Now, while none of you will be fined or be serving jail time, you do have to serve a certain number of community service hours to complete within the next six months. If you don’t complete the service hours, you will be fined for the crimes. Your parents have already agreed to the terms we will lay out for you. However, because all of you are over 18, you can try to bring this to court.”
Alya turns and glares at me. “This is all your fault!”
Alya’s mouth grabs her by the shoulders and jerks her around. “Alya. You will complete these service hours. If you get convicted you’re looking at thousands in euros of fines and almost a decade of jail time.”
Alya gasps. “What did I do?”
The second policeman glances down at a clipboard. “Libel, slander, damaging of property, theft, and assault.”
Alya stares at the man, going slack in her seat. It was like the consequences of everything she’d done of the past four years were finally hitting her.
The second policeman clears his throat once again. “Alright. Rose Lavillant, Ivan Bruel, Mylène Haprèle, Nathaniel Kurtzberg and Max Kanté, you will have to serve 50 hours of community service over the next six months. Nino Lahiffe, Lê Chiên Kim, Alya Césaire, and Sabrina Raincomprix, you all will be serving 100 hours of community service.”
“Ms. Césaire, by court order, your Ladyblog will have to be deleted as well.” Alya gaps at the officer and goes to stand, but both of her parents hold her down.
Mrs. Vaux sighs, and moves her gaze up to the four of us at the top. “Ms. Dupain-Cheng, Ms. Bourgeois, Ms. Couffaine, and Ms. Kubdel, you will be switched into Ms. Mendeleiev’s class for the remainder of the year. I believe it would be best for you to be out of this environment.”
All four of us nod and start to pick up our things. The rest of the classmates stare at us. “But, who’s going to be class representative now?” Rose looks close to tears again.
I shrug, pulling my bag over my shoulder. “The job goes to the deputy now.”
The whole class shifts to look at Alya, who pales once again. The four of us walk down the stairs to the near silence of the room, our parents trailing after us. As soon as we were out the door several people started yelling in the room.
I knew I should care, and part of me did, but I just felt happy that most of this was all over. It took four years, but finally, everyone knew about Lila. I hadn’t felt this light in years.

I got a story idea earlier today, I posted two chapters on my wattpad today. Basically it's a story idea where Chloe has a twin sister. But the twin is actually nicer than Chloe and only does what Chloe tells her because she makes her. This is Stoneheart Orgins Part 2.Because of text limit I'll add two parts. If anyone has any questions about missing plot points you can just comment or I might post the first chapter. Also Chloe and Cameron aren't identical twins, they have the same hair color, but they have different eye color, they are fraternal twins even though they are the same gender. (If I got any facts about twins wrong please tell me.my mother is an identical twin so I don't really know much about fraternal twins as I've only met one set)
Cameron's POV:
On the TV:
Nadja: (standing to the side of a picture of one of Stoneheart's minions, tablet in hand) The stone beings are scattered all over Paris, and for the time being, they are showing no signs of movement. (a variety of pictures is shown) Police have cordoned off the area.
Father: (on television alongside officer Roger) We won't stop until we find a way to get these people back to their normal selves, but for now, we're not making much headway.
(The camera flips backs to Nadja standing next to a photo of Ladybug and Cat Noir.)
Nadja: Paris is relying on our new guardian angels, Ladybug and Cat Noir, to save us all. Our lives depend on them.
I'm going to go to bed for the night.. I just hope tomorrow will be better.
Ladybug and Cat Noir.. I believe in you. I trust you. I know you can save us.
--------------------------------------
Morning
I better get dressed before Chloe complains..
"Cameron! I set out your clothes!" I hear Chloe call out.
"Oh yay. What would I do without you?" I say sarcastically
"You would do nothing without me, because I always outshine you." Chloe says
"I'm just gonna get dressed." I groan
Tumblr media
I rush downstairs to the hall and am the first to see father.
"Hey dad." I say
"Cameron. Are you okay? You're not scared about everything going on right?" He asks
"No father, I trust you, Ladybug and Cat Noir. I know they will save us." I say
"Thank you sweetie, I'll do everything in my power to keep you and your sister safe." He says
"I know you will." I say giving him a hug.
---------------
A few minutes later..
Chloe comes downstairs.
"Hey is Jean whatever his name is ready with the car?" Chloe asks
"Yes, and remember to be safe dear." Dad says
"Yeah whatever. Come on Cameron!" Chloe says
I follow after Chloe and get in the limo.
-------------
In the limo
"And you better remember what we talked about last night." Chloe says
"Of course Chloe." I say
I forgot to write in my diary about the whole Stoneheart thing last night, but I guess I can do it later today. When Chloe isn't bothering me.
----
"Okay we're here." Chloe says
We exit the limo, greet Sabrina and enter the school.
"Woah look, it's Ivan." I say to Chloe.
"Let's go and see what the crowd around him wants." Chloe says with a suspicious looking smirk.
Oh no.. she's up to no good. She never is.
Especially when that look overtakes her facial expression.But I can't do anything no matter what she does... She warned me what will happen if I mess up again today. I just hope that she decides to be not so harsh for once, but the likelihood of that happening is slim to none unfortunately.
We walk over to the group.
"So you don't remember anything that happened? Alix asks Ivan.
"You were going ballistic! It was so cool!" Says Juleka.
"You were gonna crush me or something!" Says Kim
"I'm so sorry,  I wasn't myself." Ivan says
"I'm sure Ivan didn't mean to-" I start
Chloe Elbows me.
"What did we just talk about Cameron?" Chloe asks
"Oh right sorry. " I say sadly
"Once a monster, always a monster!" Chloe says
Ivan growls and storms off.
"Oh and don't let the door hit you on the way out!" Chloe says laughing
-------------------
Third Person POV:
(I TOOK THIS FROM THE TRANSCRIPT AGAIN)
Scene: Hawk Moth's lair.
Hawk Moth: Yes… feel the burn of those words. Lose your temper, Ivan! Your akuma awaits you. (taps on the cane that is holding the akuma)
----------------
Cameron's POV:
"How could you say such horrible things to Ivan? You're the real Stoneheart!" Alya yells at Chloe
"Yeah, I'm the one who broke Sabrina's dad's arm.Back me up Cameron." Chloe says
"Just because you got that dumb footage of those superheroes doesn't mean you should get all high and mighty." I say
Chloe laughs and blows a bubble in Alya's face.
I do feel bad for what I said, but if Chloe ever catches me apologizing, it will be the end of me.
"Ugh! You little brats!" Alya starts
"Look everyone! She's angry! She's gonna split her underwear and turn into a huge muscly monster!" Chloe says
Alya growls and storms off.
Suddenly I see Adrien appear and wave to us.
"Hey Chloe, hey Cameron!" Adrien says
"Hi Adrien." I say
"Adrikins! You came!" Chloe says running over to him to hug him
I see a bunch of people who recognize him start to gush over him.
-------------------
"Isn't it amazing that you, me and my twin sister are all in the same class?!" Says Chloe
"Yeah, it is, I already have two people I know." Adrien says with a smile.
"Wow you look a lot like your mother." I say in awe.
"What?" He asks
"She said nothing." Chloe says while glaring at me.
"Cameron?" He asks
"Yeah, Chloe's right. I said nothing." I say
"One more slip up Cameron." She threatens
"I'm sorry, it won't happen again." I say
"Yeah, it better not." She says
I could've sworn Adrien passed a shocked look at Chloe, but that could be me just hoping someone heard her for once.
As we enter the classroom and Adrien finishes giving random people his autograph, Chloe rushes in front of us.
"Look Adrikins! I saved you a seat right in front of me!" Chloe says
"Thanks Chloe." Adrien says sitting next to Nino.
I sit in my seat behind Sabrina.
"Hi." Adrien says looking at Nino
"So you're friends with Chloe and Cameron?" Nino asks suspiciously
I feel bad for him anyway..
Suddenly I hear Adrien making an issue of something, I turn around and see Chloe and Sabrina putting gum on Marinette's seat.
"Woah, what are you doing?" Adrien asks
"The brats who sat here yesterday need some attitude adjustment, so I'm gonna teach it to them." Chloe says
Adrien gets up.
"I really don't think that's necessary." Adrien says
"Adrikins, no offense but you have a whole lot to learn about school culture." She says
"Didn't you already insult Alya in the hall?" I ask outloud on accident.
"Cameron what was that?" Chloe asks threateningly
"Nothing important." I say
"That's what I thought." She says
I look at the top of my desk sadly.
-------------
Suddenly I hear the familiar voice of Marinette shout.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" I hear her say.
I look up and see Adrien picking at the gum on Marinette's seat.
Oh poor Adrien..
"Um-" he says
Chloe and Sabrina laugh.
Chloe glares at me for not laughing, so I just go along with it.
"Haha so funny you four." Marinette says
"Wait, I was just trying to get it off!" Adrien says
"Sure you were." Marinette says
Chloe and Sabrina keep laughing.
"Ugh, you're friends with the terrible two huh?" She asks
Honestly I don't blame her for that comment, but it still hurts everytime someone compares me to Chloe.
"Why do people keep saying that?" I hear Adrien quietly and sadly ask.
Marinette covers her seat with a tissue, and the two sit down
"See what I mean about respect?" Chloe asks
Adrien sadly sighs.
"Hey where's Ivan?" I ask
"How should I know where that brute is?" Chloe asks
"Why didn't you tell them that it was 'The Terrible Two's' idea?" I hear Nino ask
"I've known Chloe and Cameron since I was little... and while they may not be perfect, I can't throw them under the bus, they're my only friends. And I'm starting to think Cameron might not really have much to do with Chloe's plans.." I hear Adrien say.
He's the first person who has ever said anything nice like that about me..
"The terrible two are a package deal my man.. but I'm Nino, and it's about time you made some new friends." I hear him say
He deserves good friends. I wish I was allowed to have friends...
---------------
Third Person POV:
(FROM THE TRANSCRIPT)
Scene: Hawk Moth's lair.
Hawk Moth: Yes. This is what I've been waiting for. You know the way, evil akuma. Track down your prey! Fly away and evilize him!
(The akuma held in Hawk Moth's cane exits it and flies out the window.)
-----
Scene: The locker room. Ivan is upset. The akuma flies in and infects Ivan's wadded-up song lyrics.
Hawk Moth: (from his lair) This is your second chance, Stoneheart, and this time you have extra help. No one will stop you from capturing the love of your life. Just remember, I'll need something in return.
(Ivan is akumatized into Stoneheart again. He opens his eyes and all the other stone beings across Paris start waking up.)
I'll link the rest of this chapter when I post the rest of it.

Step Into the Sun
Emptiness.
She was walking in the black void of solitude. She brushed her fingers on the grasses of heart wrenching aloneness. She ran her hand on the reeds of weeping desolation.
There wasn’t a single day that Marinette spent without feeling worthless, lonely, and deserted. At the end of the day Marinette felt ennui, she walked the same route home and would face the same harassment everytime.
The day she stopped walking in the void and started running was a bitter, rainy day when she was walking back from school. As she walked down her usual route she felt the other side of the road beckon her, a turn she had never taken before.
She heeded the call and crossed the desolated street while shielding herself from the rain with her coat. When she finally arrived on the other side she began walking aimlessly but with purpose.
The road was quiet, eerily quiet. Marinette heard a soft shuffling in a bush near to her. She leaned forward towards the bush creeping closer and closer.
Suddenly, Marinette felt a harsh tapping on her shoulder. She spun around after feeling the jolt and spike in her heart rate.
Lila, the one who isolated her, the one who caused all of Marinette’s grief, was standing before her.
“Hello Marinette.” She said sweetly, but in a sickening way, Marinette felt her stomach drop, “How are you enjoying your new experience in class?”
Marinette dodged Lila’s gaze, “That’s a shame.” The liar smirked, “Because it’s your new reality. Soon, you’ll have nobody left, not even your parents.”
Panic flashed through Marinette’s eyes, “W-w-we’ll are about that Lila.”
“We will.” Lila chuckled darkly and smugly before leaving Marinette and going in the opposite direction.
Marinette’s hands were still shaking as she walked into her parents’ bakery, she had been in such a daze that she didn’t even hear her parents call her name as she walked up the stairs to her room. Marinette opened the door to her room and clambered into her bed, she just wanted everything to be over.
“Marinette?” Asked a small, squeaky, meek voice. Marinette flipped her position on the bed. “Are you ok?” Tikki asked with worry in their eyes.
Marinette didn’t respond.
“I’m always here for you, you know that right?” Tikki gulped, “You can talk to me about anything.”
The kwami was met by silence and a glazed expression from Marinette.
“Y-you know, I bet Plagg could cataclysm Lila for you.” Tikki joked, she let out a dry laugh, “If you gave him enough cheese.”
Marinette felt her expression soften.
Maybe she wasn’t as alone as she thought…
She heard the abrupt creaking of a door and a new voice whispered to her, “Marinette? You up here?”
Marinette peeked her head out from her bed. Alya was standing next to it. Alya sat on the bed next to her as she patted the bluenette’s back. “Do you want to do something? If not, I understand.”
Marinette looked at her best friend, that’s when it hit her as she saw Alya’s comforting smile, no one was truly alone.
“What’d you have in mind?” Marinette asked feeling a small smile creep to her face.
“Well...some other people came along with me to say hi.” Alya said, “You guys can come up!”
Another creak of Marinette’s door followed by soft chatter filled the room.
“Hi Marinette!” Adrien greeted waving a hand. Marinette blushed, “H-hi Adrien.”
“Hey dudette!” Nino said as Marinette sat up in her bed.
After Nino followed Juleka and Rose, Marc and Nathenal, Ivan and Mylene, Max, Alix, Kim and then Auore.
“Y-you guys all came to hang out with me?” Marinette asked hesitantly.
“Of course Marinette, you’re our friend!” Rose said embracing her.
“We care about you a lot Marinette.” Nathenal rubbed the back of his neck.
“We’ve noticed you’ve been feeling down and wanted to cheer you up like how you always do with us.” Ivan said.
“You’re a cool chick Marinette.”
“The probability of that statement being accurate is 100%!”
“W-what about Lila?” Marinette asked.
“Lila is nice, but you’re our friend too, like Ivan said, you’re always here for us so we won’t desert you in your time of need.”
“You guys are the best.” Marinette said wiping a tear from her eyes.
Suddenly a ray of sunlight came in through the dark, empty void and everything was a little brighter, maybe not by much, but her world was no longer pitch black.

The citizens of Paris watched as their beloved red clad superhero landed gracefully by the Louvre pyramid with a little girl—the akumatized victim. A group of reporters were there, ready to question her with multiple things, but Ladybug was only there to take the girl back to her parents. She didn’t have time to deal with the reporters. Not now, anyway.
She had phase two to tend to.
“Ladybug, LADYBUG!”
Hearing someone from the group shout her name, the masked heroine turned and spotted a very familiar redhead with her phone in the middle of the group of reporters. Once Ladybug’s attention was caught, Alya quickly pushed through the group of people and started questioning the savior of Paris.
“Ladybug, what an amazing save. Mind leaving a few words for the Ladyblog? Where’s Chat Noir?” Alya asked, recording.
“I, uh...—“
Beep beep
“Your blog, it’s amazing, really, and I’d love to talk some more, but I really gotta go,” the teen superhero answered, smiling and waving in Alya’s direction. “Bug out.”
And with that, the heroine threw her yo-yo at a nearby building, giving her just enough momentum to swing to one of the Louvre’s wings where her partner was waiting. They had chosen a rooftop not too far from where the reporters were gathered, making sure those people down there can still see them continue to phase two.
“You know, I could’ve taken the girl to her parents, right?”
The girl straightened from her crouching position. “Oh please, kitty. I know you only want the attention of those reporters.”
“You saw right through me, My Lady. As always.”
Ladybug chuckled, walking over to where her partner stood. “I’ll let you answer the questions next time, Chat.”
“You sure about that, My Lady? You wouldn’t want it to be cat-astrophic, would you?”
This boy, I swear, Ladybug thought.
She crossed her hands in front of her chest. “If I remember correctly, a certain kitten wanted the attention of the media.”
Ladybug walked another step forward, making them stand so close, Chat can feel her breath on his neck, making the hairs at the back of his neck stand on end. Chat Noir didn’t know how to feel about this situation. A part of his brain is melting into a puddle of goo. Another part is telling him that Ladybug certainly has the best pair of irises. And another part is just urging him to kiss her.
Sure, they were supposed to run phase two, but he’d have to wait until the moment was right.
“Well if you want the attention of the media so much, why don’t you go run phase two right now?”
Chat Noir nearly choked, hearing his partner say those words, as if reading his mind, craning her neck forward. Chat swore he could even feel her breath against his face now. He started to feel his face heat up and thank god it’s nighttime because if it wasn’t, he was sure Ladybug would’ve seen his face turn beet red. He was losing it. He was losing it. He was—
“My Lady, if you wanted to be kissed so much, all you had to do was ask, you know. I wouldn’t mind.”
He could feel the superheroine standing in front of him tense and when he caught sight of her face, he could see tints of pink on her cheeks, just below the red mask covering her identity despite the darkness. Ladybug wasn’t easy to coax, but Marinette was another deal.
The blue-haired heroine on the other hand, was thinking hard, finding a way to return the attack. Her hands hung loose on her sides, no longer crossed firmly. But before she could even find the right words, her partner had spoken up again.
“With your permission, My Lady.”
She looked up at those pair of green eyes she knew all too well. She smiled before Chat stepped in, closing the gap between them, not forgetting to entwine their fingers and put his free hand on her waist.
And the reporters have never seen such magnificent news before today.
~~~
“GUYS! HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS?”
“YES! I HEARD LADYBUG AND CHAT NOIR KISSED!”
“AHH HOW ADORABLE! I knew they were in it for each other!”
“Who doesn’t?”
“WHO CARES? THEY KISSED!”
“Without having to save the other!”
“Without getting their memories taken!”
“This is it, guys. LADYNOIR IS OFFICIAL!”
“We’re in endgame.”
Marinette came in a bit late for class, as she was up all night thinking of the ‘phase two’ she and her partner had managed to pull off perfectly last night. She had babbled on and on and on to Tikki until the ladybug kwami got too tired and accidentally fell asleep on one of Marinette’s scarves. But even after the girl tucked the kwami to bed, Marinette still couldn’t sleep. She barely got a wink.
She kissed Chat Noir.
Chat Noir is Adrien Agreste.
She kissed Adrien Agreste.
Her cheeks heat up everytime realization hits her, no matter how many times it did.
“MARINETTE, have you heard the news?”
She raised an eyebrow. “What news?”
Alya scrunced her forehead. “Seriously, Girl?”
“Uh, I must’ve missed it this morning. My bad. Anything exciting happened recently?”
“YES! Check this out!”
Alya immediately took out her phone and showed Marinette a video of Ladybug and Chat Noir, taken just last night. There they were, on the rooftop of the Louvre, Ladybug with her hands crossed and Chat Noir standing in front of her. They chatted for a while until the heroine craned her head forward. Chat Noir then places his hand on Ladybug’s waist and—
Marinette looked away, already knowing what will happen next. She knew the news. She didn’t have to watch the news to know about it. She didn’t have to ask everyone in the classroom about what’s going on between Ladybug and Chat Noir. She didn’t have to urge Alya to show her the Ladyblog video. She didn’t even have to be present between the sea of reporters at the Louvre last night to know about the news.
Marinette was the cause of the news, after all.
Well, half of the credits go to her. The other half—
“Good morning, everyone.”
Marinette stared as Adrien came walking through the classroom door calmly, looking well-rested, tidy, and perfectly calm as if today is just another day despite the zoo that broke out in their classroom. He silently slipped into his seat, just in front of Marinette’s table.
Alya turned her head. “Hey Adrien, have you heard? Ladybug and Chat Noir kissed!”
Adrien’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. “No way—“
Man, this boy is a good actor, Marinette thought.
“Yes way,” the redhead slipped in the seat next to Adrien, sandwiching him between her and Nino while showing him the same video she was showing to Marinette just moments ago. “FINALLY! About time, don’t you think?”
“Yeah, definitely,” Adrien nodded, his eyes still on the screen. “You were at the Louvre last night?”
“Yep, and I had the privilege of seeing this kiss in person,” Alya swooned. “You should’ve seen it.”
Adrien chuckled, looking back down at the phone in Alya’s hand. “It really looks like Chat Noir enjoyed that kiss, huh?”
Marinette swore Adrien didn’t say that because of the video Alya showed him. A familiar heat started to burn on her cheeks and she’d be in trouble if the three people sitting in front of her caught it. She propped her chin with one hand and decided to look away.
I kissed Chat Noir, Marinette thought.
I kissed Adrien Agreste.
Despite the fact that it was just them messing with the entirety of Paris, Marinette realized that she would’ve kissed Chat Noir last night even if they didn’t have to run phase two. The momentum, it was perfect. But maybe they would’ve chosen a way more private rooftop where nobody could see them and detransformed and kissed longer and—
“Marinette?”
The girl snapped her head so quickly, her neck cracked. “Uh—what?”
The three people in front of her had turned their heads, Adrien chuckling. “I was asking your opinion on this big news.”
Her eyes widened. “I—uhm. Uh...”
“Tell me,” Adrien started, twisting his body so that he was facing the girl now. “Don’t you think that Ladybug enjoyed it too?”
Marinette tried her best to regain control. She was not going to give in. She was not going to become a messy puddle of blushing and stammering anymore. Those old and corrupt days were over.
She smiled back. “Of course she did.”
A bright smile blossomed on Adrien’s lips, intensifying the heat she felt on her cheeks earlier.
“Hey, Alya! Alix wants to see that video!” Called Mylene from the other side of the room.
“I’ll be right there,” the redhead called over before turning to her friends. “Be right back, you three.”
Marinette watched as Alya approached Mylene and Alix’s table with her phone, excitedly retelling the scene she was lucky enough to witness last night. Marinette propped her chin with her hand and watched as the news of Ladybug and Chat Noir getting together broke out in her class.
The girl in pigtails chuckled.
How oblivious can humans seriously be?
~~~
“Nathalie, is father around?”
The woman looked up from her clipboard.
“He’s a bit busy right now, Adrien. But he will certainly join you for dinner shortly.”
“Tell him I need to talk about something.”
Nathalie nodded to Adrien before the blonde entered the dining room, taking his place at the end of the table.
He recalled the conversation he had with Marinette the other day, about telling his father first. Unlike her parents, Adrien knew his father’s barrier isn’t easy to penetrate. Extra effort needs to be done in order to finally get to him, and Adrien knew by experience. If you misstep, you might be farther away from your goal than when you started.
The better plan was not for Marinette to immediately come to the Agreste mansion, but for Adrien to give the introductions first, weaken the barrier before they penetrate it. It wasn’t just about their plan. This was serious. The plan aside, Adrien really wanted his father to know about his girlfriend and accept her.
He was giddy just thinking about it.
So he waited.
Patiently.
The head of the table was still empty.
Minutes passed. The food has gone cold. No signs of Gabriel anywhere. Adrien was sick of waiting.
He only wanted to talk. Just this once.
He stood up, dragging the chair he was sitting on earlier backwards, making Nathalie look up from the clipboard in her hand.
“Adrien, I—“
“He’s in his office, right?” the boy asked, taking the plate at the head of the table. “I’ll take these to him.”
“No, I’ll take those—“
“Stop it, Nathalie. I just want to talk to him.”
The woman’s gaze softened, making Adrien smile. He looked at her for another heartbeat before stepping outside the dining room, making his way to the door just across—his father’s office.
Adrien didn’t even bother knocking.
“Father, I need to talk to you.”
Gabriel Agreste didn’t answer, his back facing his son in the doorway.
“It’s important.”
The man in the white suit sighed and turned, finally meeting his son’s gaze.
Adrien slowly placed the plate in his hands on the glass table. “You didn’t come to dinner.”
Gabriel looked at his son softly. “Nathalie could’ve done that.”
“Yeah, but I’m here to talk.”
Gabriel waited, his hands kept behind his back formally.
“I have a girlfriend now, and I’d like you to meet her if that’s okay.”
Adrien studied his father’s face as the man scrunched his eyebrows.
“Adrien, I’m sorry but if it’s Miss Rossi—“
“No, Father. It’s definitely not Lila,” Adrien quickly cut him off. “It’s Marinette.”
Gabriel raised his eyebrows. “The young designer? The baker’s daughter?”
Adrien’s heart started pounding. He wasn’t sure if his father asking questions was a good thing or a bad thing. Either way, he was starting to get nervous and giddy at the same time.
“Yes...?” He replied with a questioning tone.
Adrien flinched, getting ready for defeat.
One heartbeat.
Two.
Three heartbeats.
“Bring her over sometime, Adrien. I’d like to have a little talk with the young designer,” Gabriel finally said. “I quite like her taste when it comes to fashion.”
Adrien lifted his head, a wide smile on his lips. “Or course, Father. How about tomorrow? After school?”
“Nathalie?”
Adrien turned to find Nathalie standing behind him in the doorway, eyes focused on her clipboard. Before long, she looked up at Grabriel and nodded politely.
The man turned to Adrien. “I can spare a few minutes.”
Adrien didn’t care anymore, he immediately took off and leapt into his father’s arms.
“Thank you, father.”
~~~
Oof, I’m weak for Agreste family bonding.
I had to go over and look up what Gabriel’s office looked like and found out that there’s a random glass block just sitting in the middle of the room. What it’s for, I have no idea. I’m going to assume it’s the table so that glass table i mentioned earlier is pretty much the glass block. He doesn’t even have a table in his office he just has a glass. Block.
Good job, Gabriel.
Again, thank you so much for the positive feedbacks you all gave on the previous part. I wasn’t sure you guys would like it. I’m still really inexperienced and English isn’t my first language so I wasn’t expecting it to turn out good.
Did you enjoy this part? Should I continue to part three? Please, I’d love to hear from everyone.
ML Fluff Month Day 3: Summer Love
ML Fluff Month Day 3: Summer Love
Ship: Adrienette/Ladynoir?
AU: anon!/nonsuper!
Words: 1889
Rating: G
Summary: Love in the age of the internet? More likely than you’d think.
A/N: This was kinda rushed so I apologize in advance but I was really busy today and didn’t have a lot of time to write because of work! (hope you enjoy anyway!) { @miraculousfluffmonth }
Day 2 ~ ao3
ChatInTheNight is online.
Marinette smiled, as she pushed aside the dress she had been working on, and opened up the private chatroom she shared with her online ‘friend’. She really wasn’t sure what she considered him. They talk all the time, but she has no idea who he is or what he looks like. For all she knows, he could be catfishing her. But she trusts him, oddly he seems trustworthy. They’ve skyped before, but they had created an odd rule to stay anonymous.
Chat: Good evening, milady. Sorry I’m late for our date ;)
Marinette rolled her eyes, before typing back a witty response. The good thing about talking over the internet is you have a chance to think about what you want to say, before you say it. If only she had that luxury with Adrien.
LadyLvck: In your dreams, kitty cat. This bug has standards.
Chat: Meowch. For all you know, I could be a hot model with rock hard abs.
Adrien chuckled, as he held his laptop on his lap. Talking to Ladybug was one of his favorite pastimes. It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with her, but she constantly talks about this boy who is not him. She really cares for him. Adrien gets a little jealous as he thinks about the boy who has her heart, but he brushes it off as he waits for her reply.
LadyLvck: Pics or it didn’t happen ;)
Adrien wasted no time responding.
Chat: If I did, you wouldn’t be able to resist me. But if you insist...
LadyLvck: HA. You’re bluffing. I knew it.
Adrien decided to play along, even though he really was a hot model with rock hard abs. It was best if Ladybug thought he was hoking, because Adrien didn’t want to come off as that self-involved.
 Chat: All right you caught me. I’m even hotter.
LadyLvck: Yeah and I can fly. Nice try, Chaton.
Chat: I thought Ladybugs could fly?
 After that, Ladybug stopped responding for a while. It happens sometimes, she has a life to get to. Sometimes it’s dinner with her family, or her best friend arrives unexpectedly, or last minute babysitting. But she always comes back eventually. So Adrien just put his laptop off to the side, and rolled out of bed. Despite his incredible room, Adrien had trouble finding anything to do to pass the time. He wished he could spend his Friday evening out with his friends, but his father refuses to even let him set foot outside unless it involved school, fencing, or modeling. He hates being locked up in his house all weekend, but it’s not all bad. It gives him a chance to talk to Ladybug. When she’s around at least. Adrien had proceeded to staring up at the ceiling when his laptop beeped, signalling a message from Ladybug. He reached behind him, turning the laptop to face him, and he read it slowly.
LadyLvck: Hey, I really need to get out of my house. Are you free tonight?
Adrien couldn’t believe what he was reading. Would he... really meet Ladybug. Then maybe would be a good time to confess his feelings for her.
Chat: Is something wrong, milady?
Marinette had tears streaming down her face, so she couldn’t read the screen very clearly. She managed to type out an ‘I’m alright. Just bored :)’ to satisfy Chat, but in reality she was sick of the secrets. She needs to know who he is.
Chat: As it turns out, I am totally free tonight. Purrrrfect for you.
LadyLvck: I guess my luck prevails today. If we were to meet at the park by my school, how would we find each other?
Marinette knew what he was going to say before the typing bubble even appeared on her computer screen.
Chat: Wear my sweatshirt I sent you. I’ll be able to sniff you out, bugaboo.
LadyLvck: What about you? Not that I don’t trust you or anything...
Chat: Trust me, bugaboo. I’ll know when I see you. Because you’ll be the prettiest person in the park. ;)
By now, the sadness and hoplessness she had felt only moments ago, and was replaced with a blush and a smile. Chat was the only one who seemed to notice her. To most everyone else, she was invisible. Except for Chloe. Chloe had come into the bakery, and her snarky comments finally pushed Marinette to her breaking point. But Chat and his flirting helped her to feel better about herself.
LadyLvck: Can’t wait to meet you again Chat Noir.
Chat logged out first, and she followed not long afterwards. Standing up, she moved to her closet, pulling Chat’s sweatshirt from the floor, and pulling it over her head. It was a little baggy, but surprisingly, it fit her well. It was just a black hoodie, with cat ears on the hood, and a green paw print on the pocket. Marinette pulled the hood up, and slipped out of her house. She avoided the bakery, mainly to avoid her parents, and started off towards the park.
Adrien couldn’t decide what to wear. His first meeting with Ladybug. He wanted to look his absolute best, but also look recognizable. She needed to be able to recognize him. So he pulled a red blazer with black accents from under his bed, and he grinned like a cat. It was perfect. Slipping the jacket on, he opened his bedroom and slipped out, unnoticed. His first time sneaking out of his house. It was exhilarating, honestly. He hurried along the busy Paris streets, towards the park next to their school. Ladybug didn’t know this, but he had found out one day that they go to the same school. As Adrien walked, he tried to figure out his Lady could be.
Alix, Rose, Mylene, Chloe
... Adrien cringed at the last one, and continued down the line.
Juleka, Alya, Sabrina, Marinette.
His mind lingered on Marinette a little longer than he liked to admit, but he pushed the thoughts out of his head, because it couldn’t be her. Adrien had never known the girl to be sarcastic or teasing. Marinette was too kind to be that way.
The park was growing closer, and Adrien’s pace quickened with anticipation of finally meeting Ladybug, the girl who he can’t seem to ever stop thinking about. He noticed the girl wearing his hoodie almost instantly, and his heart rate went crazy, and he knew his cheeks must be bright pink. From where Adrien stood, he couldn’t see the girl’s face, and she was scribbling furiously in a notebook. Adrien broke out of his trance and moved towards the girl. The girl looked up suddenly, and locked eyes with Adrien, who exploded in a deep blush. Ladybug is Marinette. She has been the whole time.
God, I feel like such an idiot
Adrien thought to himself, as he brought up one hand to wave at her. Marinette just smiled shyly, closing her notebook quickly.
“Hey, Adrien,” She paused, a tense giggle leaving her lips. “What are you doing here? Well, Im not saying you can’t be here because you can, and I am really happy you’re here! But it’s not like you came here for me, no of course not. I just...” Marinette silenced herself, groaning before looking up at Adrien, who was just smiling weirdly at her.
“I’m here to see you.” Adrien managed to choke out, and Marinette gasped and blushed darkly, turning her head away from him to hide her blush.
“You WHAT?! I mean... sorry.” Adrien knew this was probably the most awkward conversation he has ever had and probably will ever have, but he doesn’t care. His head is in the clouds, he feels like he’s flying.
Marinette is Ladybug
.
And she’s sitting RIGHT THERE. And she is wearing my hoodie.
Adrien could die happy. But he knew that he couldn’t tell her he was Chat, Not yet at least.
“Well, I saw you sitting there alone and thought you could use some company.” Adrien couldn’t help the suave tone his voice took on as he spoke. He had a strange urge to impress Marinette now. Even more so than before. Marinette looked around, and Adrien knew she was looking for him. Well Chat Noir.
“I- I’m actually waiting for someone. A-A friend.” Adrien smirked, and bumped her shoulder with his own.
“Does Marinette have a date?” Adrien was hoping for a positive reaction. He needed to know if she truly felt the same way. Marinette giggled, a faraway look in her eyes. Then she giggled again, but the affectionate smile that crossed her face gave Adrien all the answers he needed.
“No...” She brushed him off, another giggle escaping her lips. “I mean, maybe? It’s complicated.”
“How so?” Adrien slid into the spot next to her on the bench, and she pulled the hood over her face, which Adrien guessed to cover another blush.
“Well, for one, I have never met him in person,” Marinette paused, as if she were waiting for a response from Adrien, but he willed himself to stay silent. “But also, I’ve never met anyone, besides maybe my parents, who cares so unselfishly for me. Like I complained that my room was cold and he literally
sent me this sweatshirt
. In the mail.” She turned to meet Adrien’s gaze. Marinette has had a crush on Adrien for years now, and everytime she would look at him, her brain would malfunction. Now, that awkwardness had faded. She still loved Adrien, but the way she felt about Chat was completely different.
“He must really love you.” Marinette coughed, and turned to narrow her eyes at Adrien, who was just smiling warmly at her.
“W-Why do you think that? We’ve never even met?”
“Does that matter?” Adrien knew this whole situation was very ironic, but he was enjoying every second spent with Marinette. With school approaching soon, he wanted to spend the year with Marinette by his side. If she would let him. Marinette opened her mouth to respond, but just closed it again when she caught Adrien staring at her.
“Well, if he were here, I would consider this a date. But I’ve been waiting for almost a half hour and he hasn’t shown, so I think I got stood up.” Adrien hated the way her voice cracked with insecurity. Whatever had happened today had really hurt her self-esteem. And Adrien planned to fix it.
“Marinette.” Adrien pulled the hood away from her face, revealing her tear-stained cheeks and puffy eyes. She sniffled, before looking up at him. She tried to smile, to show him that she was ok, but she clearly wasn’t.
Chloe had shown up at the bakery and decided to treat her like a servant, only to not buy anything. Normally, Marinette can easily put up with Chloe, but her day has been pretty unlucky, which is why she needed Chat to cheer her up. In person. But the one time she needs him the most, he doesn’t come. Was it all just a lie?
“Marinette, who do you think you’ve been sitting with this whole time?”
“Uh... You? Adrien Agreste.” Marinette clearly didn’t understand the question. So Adrien just leaned in and kissed her forehead gently.
“Nice to finally meet you, milady.”
Wintery Warm Drabbles - 14th “Secret Santa“
Ao3 / FF.net
“I’m your Secret Santa, Alix! Happy holidays!”, Mylène announced happily, hugging Alix and giving her a gift. The smaller girl beamed and hugged her back as someone skipped past them, up the stairs.
“Happy holidays, Nathaniel! I’m your Secret Santa, you lucky child!”, Kim yelled, almost scaring Nathaniel off his bench. He recoiled but laughed at the poorly wrapped present, already thanking Kim. Meanwhile, Sabrina skipped over to Nino, presenting him a smaller gift.
“Hey Nino! I didn’t exactly know what to get you sooooo… I just winged it. I hope you like it!”, The boy grinned widely in return, taking the gift from her.
“Really cool from you, Sabrina!”
“Roooooooose!”, Marinette shouted, turning to the back, “I got something for you!”
“Really, Marinette?! Ooooh, how sweet of you!”
In the midst of all the hectic running around, giving and receiving gifts, Alya sat on her seat, grumbling. Of course, of course Chloé had drawn her. Well, she should’ve known and better her than Alix who would protest, or Rose who would be sad.
But still.
While she had already given Ivan his present and had gotten back the brightest smile of him that she had ever seen on this big boy, the dumb chocolate bar sat in front of her on her table. It was almost as if Chloé had generously given her alms to satiate her.
And yes, while Alya had never been much of a gift accepter since she liked giving gifts more, she had at least wanted a ‘Happy holidays’. Or at least the tiniest bit of effort. Chloé had already given signs to better herself but this? This was sad.
Alya sighed, resting her chin on her crossed arms while watching Marinette giving Rose a rose themed shirt. Juleka gave Max a present behind them, Sabrina just unwrapped a portrait of herself, drawn by Nathaniel. Everyone had a smile on their face. Even Chloé, who had gotten a present from Max.
It wasn’t that she felt left out or anything. It was just that she didn’t really feel the vibe of Christmas coming her way while the others looked like they could immediately jump on Santa’s sled and yell ‘Silent Night’ from the top of their lungs. Eh, who needed a Secret Santa anyway…
Miss Bustier just opened her gift from Alix, laughing as she revealed a small rollerblade-keychain. So that she would never forget her coolest student, the small girl claimed.
Alya huffed and rested her temple on her arms. She hadn’t slept very well anyway so she could just as well get some rest now. Miss Bustier had officially declared the first two hours as a class intern Christmas party so she would have enough time to close her eyes a bit, slip off in the land of dreams and forget everything around her. Just as much as she had been forgotten.
Alya wasn’t sour about that, no. Or, well, maybe a little bit.
She just felt like something was missing. She didn’t want a gift, necessarily, but at least a kind gesture? Something telling her she was at least wanted here.
She sighed silently as she felt Marinette leaving their bench, off to ask everyone what they had gotten. Such a sweet soul.
Always out to care for others. And hell, how she had already cared for Alya! She was incredibly grateful to have found Marinette, to have her in her life. Before she had come to Collège Françoise Dupont she hadn’t had many friends. Well, she hadn’t really been interested in friends, honestly. She had her comic books, her sisters, one boy from school with who she could always geek out about Majestia and well, that had been enough for her.
Until she had gotten to know Marinette. She had also begun valuing Adrien as a great friend, no matter how much of a crush her best friend had on him.
And Nino… Well, that was a totally different story. For a few days now at least.
She smiled lightly when she thought about his golden eyes shining when he was excited, or transforming into molten caramel flowing around his pupil everytime his gaze softened, everytime he pulled her close and was just about to kiss her…
Her lips tingled and she couldn’t quite suppress a bigger grin.
She opened her eyes, turning her head again to see him standing with Rose and Juleka, grinning broadly. She hummed at his sight before turning away again, not wanting to be caught staring. He just adjusted his red cap when she closed her eyes again and the image played in her head all over again.
He loved that cap. He never took it off outside even if his hair was so silky and soft that she was sure at least a few people would wanna touch it. She knew she wanted to.
His laugh ringed in her ears and she hid her smile in the crook of her arm, her chest feeling fluttery and her heart suddenly so light. Every negative thought from her forgotten Secret Santa was gone as she filled her mind with his grin, with his eyes, with his smooth, soothing voice. Somehow, her ears filtered away all other noises and she was concentrating on him alone.
“Woah, that looks really cool, Rose. I bet you’re gonna wear it all day long now, huh?”, he said, a happy undertone in his voice. And definitely a good piece of pride. Pride for Marinette.
She knew Nino and Marinette were childhood friends. Basically that they grew up together.
They had re-established a really close friendship as Adrien and Alya had joined the class but Alya knew from Marinette that she had been inseparable from Nino once.
She had to smile again.
They were so cute together. Marinette had shown her a few old photos and Nino’s chubby cheeks always got her cooing. He had been so cute next to the absolutely adorable beauty next to him. Well, she couldn’t blame him – Marinette had always been a beauty.
Just as Alya was about to doze off she felt a hand on her arm, though. The hand was a little too warm as always, but not sweaty. She opened her eyes and found Nino’s smiling eyes just a bit away from her.
“Come with me, Al.”, he whispered. A little groggy, she sat up and blinked.
“Where to?”, she yawned.
“Just come with me.”, he smirked, a conspiratorial expression flashing over his face. She got up and watched with a certain satisfaction how Nino inconspicuously swiped the chocolate bar a bit further onto the table, away from her.
He had seen it. He had understood her.
She followed him out of the door, her hand lying in his, protected and warm. She giggled a little as they were out of the door, feeling like they just snuck out of an important lesson even if they were free to go through the school at the moment.
“What’s up, Nino?”, she asked, not really expecting or wanting an answer. She wanted to be surprised.
“Just follow me.”, he winked over his shoulder, his teeth flashing in a joyous grin.
She grinned and kept up with him, letting him pull her into the locker room. Nobody was here.
They passed all the lockers of their classmates and went to those of students in a higher class, passing them, too. She now understood where he wanted to go.
This corner was mostly used by students of higher classes because it was in their corner of the room but since their class was mostly in the middle they didn’t have such a corner. And since Nino didn’t want to go to the younger kids’ lockers, he decided to pick the one that already had a reputation. A kissing reputation.
She bit down a giggle and tried to ignore the feeling of a thousand butterflies fluttering through her stomach as they got to the place where Nino wanted to go.
There was nothing really special about this corner, really. Apart from the fact that it was well hidden from the entrance and all the other lockers safe for the ones on this side it was just, well, that. A corner.
But within the students it had kinda become the place where people would go to kiss. As tenth graders they were a bit on the younger side to use the corner but Nino didn’t seem to care. Especially since nobody was in the locker room anyway.
He turned to her, grinning with his cheeks slightly reddened. Was he just as excited as her? Well… They had shared a few pecks, yes. And they had also kissed for a bit longer, back when her mom had walked in on them. But this corner and the fact that they were in the school made it all a bit more-… Rebellious. Mature. Also, a bit more exciting, almost as if they were breaking some rules.
She watched him talking both her hands, slowly turning around and pulling her in a circle around him to let her lean in the corner. She willingly stepped past him, pulling a quick pirouette in a flowing motion as if it was a dance. He grinned as he remembered where she had last done that.
Alya’s shoulders gently bumped against the wall on one side and the lockers on the other, one foot still on the floor while she propped one against the junction between locker and wall behind her. Nino smirked as he stepped closer, still holding both her hands, their fingers loosely interlaced.
“So, what’re we doing here?”, she questioned, tilting her head to indicate she was mockingly oblivious. He laughed, taking her knee between his legs to be close enough to her, his sneaker lightly bumping against the shoe with which she was still standing.
“Well, I saw how Chloé gave you that chocolate bar as a Secret Santa gift.”
Alya psh’ed and shrugged.
“Yeah, that was very Christmas-y and nice. I practically felt the Christmas Spirit and kindness radiating from her in tsunami waves.”
Nino snorted, now pulling away one of his hands to wrap his arm around her shoulders, leaning against the wall behind her in a close hug. His chest laid flat against hers and she smiled as she used her free hand to reach around him, grabbing his shirt and letting her arm relax in that position.
His nose softly bumped against hers and he nudged her, his fingers between hers closing to hold them tighter.
“Well, I figured you needed a real Secret Santa gift. Well, not so secretly from me but hey, at least we’re in secret here.”
She laughed at that, pressing a quick kiss to his nose.
“You mean I’ll get a real Secret Santa gift here?”
“Well…”, he smirked, “I could always run for Marinette’s Santa hat that she’s wearing and when we return you claim that you don’t know who kissed you anymore. But yeah, I thought about giving you a real Secret Santa gift.”
She giggled, his breath mingling with hers and flowing down between them to their necks.
“I like the sound of it…”
And with a hum he leaned in, eager to give her the best Secret Santa gift she could have. Which she claimed to be true, even after seeing that Adrien had given Marinette, being her Secret Santa and all, a gift card for a cinema date.
Because even if everyone else had gotten something thoughtful from her classmates, she had gotten the sweetest attention from her boyfriend that she could’ve ever asked for.
