a/n: omg Fyodor has been taking up too much space in my brain lately so I finally had to write for him <3 he's so pretty but in like a way pls hurt me way LOL

You hum happily as you spin around the dressing room, loving the way the expensive clothing fit your frame. It had been ages since your last shopping trip, and honestly you couldn't remember the last time you left your house. Ever since you and Fyodor had become serious, you have been living in the private manor he had built to suit your needs. Sometimes he would visit for a while, but often times he had other business to attend to. Despite not always being around, Fyodor always ensured your needs, wants, and safety were granted. The manor was filled with everything you asked for from private chefs who cooked whatever you wished, as many pets as you wanted to keep you company, and everything else you asked for. Not many people can understand your lifestyle, viewing your off grid manor as a cage, but this didn't matter to you. You were happy and in love and that's all that mattered to you.

A soft smile on your face as you imagine the sweet words your boyfriend will utter to you later tonight when you both are home and you get to show him everything from your shopping trip. Fyodor had been away on an extra long "work trip" these past few months, and you have been anxiously been awaiting his return. The excitement you felt this morning waking up to a letter detailing his return later tonight alongside a large sum of cash to spend before his return home continued to run through your veins as you tried on more clothes. You grab all the pieces that frame your figure perfectly, happily walking to the cashier before handing the bags over to the body guards accompanying you.

After hours of walking around the upscale mall, you were ready to head back home. You begin calling for one of the body guards to pull the car around until a certain store's display catches your eye. A wide smirk paints your face as your eyes scan over the angelic lingerie set the mannequin was dressed in, calling for the bodyguards to wait a little longer before leaving.

"You look beautiful milaya," your boyfriend offers a small smile with his praise as you twirl around the bedroom in your new outfits. Though he did not like when you left the security of his control by going out in public, his love for your little "fashion shows" after a day out shopping was much stronger. These moments belonged to only him, you belonged to only him. He hummed thinking about that fact as you raced off to grab your next outfit, your eyes sparkling as you ramble on about a movie you had recently watched. His eyes watched your every movement, eyebrow raised as you grab a bag and head off into the bathroom. "Where are you going off to?"

"This outfit is a surprise baby! You'll see in a moment," you call out from behind the closed door. He chuckled at your actions, attention returning to his laptop as he waits for your return.

His eyes widen as you reenter the bedroom, posing in your white lacey lingerie set. You climb onto the bed, closing his laptop and placing it on the nightstand before sitting on his lap.

"Surprise!" you chuckle, already feeling aroused watching his purple eyes scan your body. His hands grip your waist, fingers toying with the lacey strings of the lingerie set.

"My my, I don't recall instructing you to buy something like this in my note, milaya," he hums, hands trailing up and down your sides.

"That's the point of a surprise," you smile innocently. You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling your face closer to his to plant a soft kiss on his lips.

"Whatever am I going to do with you," he sighs, hands returning to their tight grip on your waist. He pulls you in for a deeper, more passionate kiss. You whine against his lips, trying desperately to break free of his grasp and grind against him. "Patience darling."

"Fyo pleaseeee," you whine. "I've been patient for months!! I've missed you!! I need you!!" You exactly what he wanted to hear, how to get exactly what you wanted. You prided yourself on being Fyodor's one weakness in this world.

"Mmm," he happily hums, mentally noting how you said all the right answers. He loved playing these games with you, and he especially loved how you always were able to keep up with him. You were his precious darling, his angel. "I'm not fully convinced," he teased, evil smirk growing across his face. Anyone else would be attempting to run away from him after seeing this expression, however you only became more turned on. He took quick note of this too. "Look at you ______," one of his hands left your waist and traveled down to your clothed core. You gasp as he pushes the lace away from your skin, fingers running up and down your wet folds. "Making a mess of my lovely surprise. That needy? How pathetic." You cry out as his fingers begin rubbing circles against your clit.

"F-Fyodor!" you throw your head back, crying out his name. Your legs begin to shake as his movements grow faster, pushing you to your climax. "Fyo-Fyo I-I'm gonna," you cry and squirm as he kisses up and down your neck.

I will also give a shout out to @kirby-rarepair-tourney and I hope that Taransusie wins the entire tournament because imo it deserves it. I support it the most out of all the ships in that tournament.

Even if I personally don't actually ship them romantically and instead just do it platonically where they're close enough to almost act like siblings to each other. It's still a wonderful pair.

I think it's fun to interpret Susie just acting like a protective big sister figure for Taranza, lol, though there's times where she'll be the one feeling more down and he'll need to act as her emotional support.

Top 5 Hetty outfits - jk ahem. Top 5 ghosts dynamics?

Oh this is rough their dynamics are all SO good....aahhhh ok. Ok. Going to try my best to fight my brain fog and lack of articulation skills to briefly explain why I chose them! These aren't in order either because that'd be just too evil, lol. Ok.

Hetty and Trevor ...ok, this one is obvious, but they're just. So. Weird. In a way that you don't expect but that works absolutely perfectly. They're so similar when you get down to it and they bounce off of each other hilariously, I feel like that scene from Isaac's book where Hetty has created a scheme, and is so proud of herself for how devious she is, while Trevor rolls his eyes because he knows how stupid it is but he is still going along with it anyway because he knows if he does she'll give him a treat later (which she does!) sums up their dynamic really well. I love that they butt heads so much and think they have nothing in common when they so clearly do, lol. The way he's slowly shifted into being fondly amused by her vs aggravated is really cute- the way they're both so enthusiastic about what they get up to in the basement is so sweet, Trevor actively wanting Hetty to open up to him, to talk to him and be silly and let loose...that fond little smile she makes at him when he's being a goober during the pillow talk scene. Ugh. They do genuinely like each other but are just so stuck in their ideas about what they should want that they dig their heels in. This is the one I am the most mad about not being able to properly explain how I feel because there is just. SO. MUCH. Going on there with them. Why am I not good at writing, AHHH

Isaac and Hetty THE BESTIES! Oh Isaac and Hetty are just sooo funny like he watched her live her entire life, they are best friends, the two of them both think they run the house but they constantly default back to each other and are usually the only ones the other will listen to, he tried to romance her and then told her he was gay, he enables her bad behavior, he both refuses to take romantic advice from her but also desperately wants her advice, he deeply loves her but very clearly thinks there is something wrong with her, they have dates where they just stare out the window for hours, she clings to him constantly like he's a security blanket, she envies his ability to find love but also kind of hates his boyfriend who she encouraged him to get together with LOL, they're gossip besties, they both deeply crave the others approval, Isaac being happy Hetty found her stableboy but also not being sure why she's chosen Trevor, like. Oh my god. I love Isaac and Hetty so much that I can't find the words even more than the others. They're just so, so, so perfect together and you can always see Brandon and Rebeccas best friendship come through with these two, their scenes are always my favorite.

Sam and Hetty Wow, I wonder if there's gonna be a trend here with which dynamics I enjoy the most because it involves my blorbo, hmmm Something about Sam and Hetty finding family within each other and wanting to learn from their past mistakes and heal from their family damage with each other and then still falling into those same patterns they did in life but with the desire to fix it this time when they realize is so interesting. I love how even in the pilot Hetty warms up to the idea of her moving into the mansion so quickly despite claiming otherwise, and that even in as latest as the Halloween episode you can see them butting heads over Hetty's need to manage people to express care because she thinks she knows best and if she knows best, why wouldn't she tell people how to get what they want? And Sam lashing out when people do that to her because she wants her accomplishments to be her own and for someone to be proud of her for what she does.

Hetty and Flower and Alberta Look I said there was gonna be a trend but I'm squeezing the Lady Ghost Society into one group so that my last 3 answers aren't all for them, lol. The way the lady ghosts interact is so fun and I love that they're all different- Hetty and Alberta being all over each other this season despite their huge conflict at the end of s2, the way Flower and Alberta were the ones who volunteered to be roommates originally, Flower not realizing Hetty didn't understand what good sexual stimulation felt like and then being distraught when she realized Hetty didn't know what happened to her on the washing machine and Hetty feeling comfortable enough to come to Flower to confess her sins and Flower helping her work through it, Alberta having forgotten Flower's name in season 1 but then in season 2 she's the one who makes sure Flower remembers what her name is, it's just so...!! The fact they have a Lady Ghost Society Council is so cute too, oh my god.

Isaac and Trevor Oh my god one that doesn't involve Hetty, what the hell Isaac and Trevor are so interesting...they're kind of similar to H-Money in that on paper you don't think they'd get along, but their interactions are so?? I think Isaac envies Trevor in a way because he's so easily "one of the guys" which is all Isaac ever wanted, buuuut he also thinks Trevor is kind of an idiot, lmfao, because Isaac just thinks everyone in the house except for him and Hetty aren't particularly intelligent I think. (Also he can't get past the pants thing.) Trevor and Isaac both so very, very desperately, just want people to like them, both of them make up these stories about cool things they did to fit the persona they so badly want the others to believe...The Liquor License is such a good episode for them, the way Trevor is content to tease Isaac when he thinks Isaac is having fun doing his snooty thing but then as soon as he realizes Isaac got left alone he goes to find him...they're just really, really fun to pair up together and I'm looking forward to this next episode with them being a duo! You can really see Brandon and Asher's friendship shine through in their scenes together.

Isaac and Sam Isaac and Sam's relationship is so weird and I absolutely love it. Isaac shadowing Sam all day in the new episode and kind of making fun of her "Yogaaaa!", them doing yoga together and her ditching him when he fell asleep...there was an interview back in December where Rose talks about the Sam and Isaac dynamic and how weird it is saying Sam just really seems to want to serve him and his best interests and that there's something going on with Sam for her to want that out of Isaac LOL, she really does seem to cave into him the most out of any of the ghosts because something in her just seems to want to impress him? But at the same time he annoys her. It's fascinating. That little heart to heart they had about not needing outside approval but then immediately dropping it as soon as they got approval for her book was SO funny and they really just want everyone to like them and be proud of them and it makes for such a fun relationship to explore.

Phew! Ok, that was long, and I'm frustrated I can't properly say what I actually want to say or feel for any of these but hopefully that all comes across decent enough! <3

I think it was in God Only Knows where I wrote an exchange between Brittany and Rachel where Britt rationalised her tolerance of Rachel by saying Santana didn’t like Lord Tubbington but looked out for him because she knew he was important to Brittany. Then Rachel was like ‘um are you comparing me to your cat?’ And yeah, that honestly sums the two of them up for me. It’s like everyone is so focused on the fact that Santana and Rachel are yelling at each other they don’t notice a) the fact that they’re holding hands while doing so and b) Brittany is quietly and contentedly setting all of Rachel’s stuff on fire somewhere in the bg. And if I had any artistic talent whatsoever I totally would’ve drawn that scenario and posted it in response to your ask instead of blabbing on and on like an idiot, but oh well.

As for other friendship headcanons, I could go on all day and probably have a few in my Santana tag already. But just for fun, and because he so rarely pops up in my fics, a fave little wildcard of mine is that Miketana actually text the most often out of any other friendship pairing. But it’s hardly ever about anything important. Mostly they just exchange super dark memes, or random videos but then sandwiched between those are random sprinkles of life updates like “I broke up with Brittany” or “Rachel and Kurt kicked me out.” So they basically always have the headline info about each others lives but rarely unpack it enough together to know the finer details because soon enough Mike will be like “anywayyys here’s this cool ramen recipe I found.” Or Santana will send a video of guy break dancing or doing something crazy with his body like ‘anywayssss is this you?’ then Mike will reply within a few hours with a video of himself doing it perfectly like ‘no but this is’ and Santana is like ‘👍.’ Then she immediately sends another message about how she’s going as an absent father to Rachel’s Halloween party because she’s 100% certain Mike will understand that means she’s not going at all and respond with “Me too 😂😂😂.” If anyone asks, they hardly know each other. But no one ever asks, so…

hi, thank you for the ask!! i am currently in soukoku hell (in a good way) and have been since the bsd season 5 finale. its just...... everything about their dynamic makes me INSANE- the way they understand each other flawlessly and use it to deliberately push each others buttons. the way theyre direct opposites which means they perfectly cover each others weaknesses but also cannot stand each other. the fact that chuuya trusts dazai enough to ever even entertain the idea of using corruption, let alone the fact that he uses it after dazai defected from the mafia and resurfaced as his fucking enemy?????? they have so much HISTORY and theyre so in denial about how much they actually care about each other its literally the best dynamic ever

corruption is what really gets me (especially bc i just read that chapter of the manga today lol). it feels like its not enough to just say chuuya puts his life in dazais hands or risks his life in hopes that dazai will save him. its more like he throws himself off a cliff and trusts that dazai will catch him before he hits the ground. and not only has chuuya done this more than once - he does it even after dazai has given him many many reasons NOT to trust him. chuuya knows damn well that he shouldnt trust dazai, but he does anyway. and like, we dont get to see much of their history together, but that alone tells SO MUCH. especially knowing their backstories and that they clashed from the very start - that trust didnt come out of nowhere. theyve been through so much together they have absolute faith in each other but theyre so goddamn dysfunctional that all they know how to do is bicker. im going to scream

halfway through writing this i remembered that dead apple exists. dazai put an antidote in his mouth before he was poisoned because he knew chuuya would punch him in the face as soon as he found him. chuuya used corruption when dazai was PRESUMED DEAD, knowing very well that if dazai was actually dead then using corruption would be a death sentence. dazai was put into a deep sleep and then chuuya rescued him from a dragon in a castle - getting a little heavy handed with the prince charming imagery, dont we think? and then they shared the most tender dialogue theyre capable of - which means both refusing to acknowledge the fact that the only reason theyre both alive is because of their unwavering trust in each other, and fiercely denying the possibility that they could have any kind of positive or even neutral feelings toward each other. and of course lightly bullying each other. like this movie really just sums it up doesnt it. they loooove to talk about how much they hate each other but when the chips are down they would do anything for each other. fuck man

this isnt even all of it - i didnt mention anything from season 5 but this post is already long enough and its getting late. but one thing i will say - i need an au where dazai dies and chuuya has a fucked up and repressed breakdown about it. its barely more than a concept in my head but the angst...... oughhhh its so good. ill probably ramble about it properly at some point but thats all i got for now

no because genuinely, those lines perfectly sum up their entire dynamic. 1950s hawk is closed off and emotionally guarded because he’s convinced anyone who loves him is doomed (literally and figuratively) because he will always, without fail, end up hurting them and tim being ready to face that hurt over and over again because he’s such an intense person in his beliefs and therefore so thoroughly devoted to hawk.

in the ’60s it’s kind of flipped though, we see that tim has now immersed himself fully in his faith and is fighting to block out everything else in his search for a “bigger truth” and hawk is now the one grasping at him.

in context (’80s) it’s absolutely grating though, because you find yourself asking “do you think he still feels like that?” and despite everything he’s been through and the anger he obviously feels, you just can’t be sure.

Okay, so this is me relating each and every reputation song to the marauders because it's my fav album for a reason

...Ready For It? - okay so canonically (meaning the space the canon gives us) this has jegulus written all over it (just know, I'm going to say that about almost every song), but I can't help but think about crimson rivers dorlene, like "knew he was a killer first time that I saw him" it's obviously from Dorcas' perspective, because "in the middle of the night, in my dreams" we know she's simping for Marlene from the very beginning, so that's her imagining being with her, "Knew I was a robber first time that he saw me" is her talking about her own background with the phoenix and later on she's saying that no one (not even Lily) compares to Marlene, "Are you ready for it?" I feel like the question is directed at herself because, no she's not ready, she doesn’t want Marlene to know about the phoenix so yeah

End Game - Starchaser!!! "You and me would be a big conversation" damn sure they would, because they are a Potter and a Black (both having a big reputation), "and I heard about you, oh, you like the Bad ones, too" is basically Reg noting that James likes Sirius (a Black, a 'bad' one if you will) so maybe he's going to like reg, too?

I Did Something Bad - okay so this can either be about Sirius or Regulus...in Sirius' case it's obviously directed at his family/parents and how he eventually leaves them (which is bad in their eyes but feels good to him), in Reg's case it's also directed at his family, but at Dumbledore as well.

Don't Blame Me - obviously a jegulus song, very much reminding me of their dynamic in Choices. I have this headcanon that Reg went Horcrux hunting for James, feeling crazy for betraying his family like that but "love made him crazy"

Delicate - again, very much jegulus. "My reputation's never been worse" I imagine Reg thinking that right after Sirius left. James still loved him even though Sirius surely didn't like him very much at that time. In the Refrain Reg (or James, honestly, it's fitting for both of them) overthinks the time he's spending with James, afraid that he'll scare him away

LWYMMD - again, this works for several people but I'm going to go with Regulus..imagine him faking his death in the cave after Dumbledore made it clear that he would never trust Regulus in any way, basically painting him as the bad guy since he is and always will be a Black and Regulus is hunting down all of the horcruxes in secret, totally slaying while doing so. It also works for Sirius, who is talking about his family and how he hunts them down as an order member (I also see Pandora or Dorcas in this song after Reg/Marlene die but I'm trying to keep this as short as possible)

So It Goes... - to me this is screaming MacEvans just because this song is about two people who make each other a better person and know that they like each other. Idk I just feel like this song describes them perfectly (from Lily's perspective)

Gorgeous - okay so this Sirius to Remus or Regulus to James because I think it just sums up how the black brothers act around their crush perfectly

Getaway Car - James, Lily & Regulus, though I'm not sure how I like it better; Regulus being the Getaway Car or Lily. In the end neither of the relationships work out just like they fail in canon (by being murdered lol). It also reminds me a little of Remus, Sirius & Grant, or maybe (and I might actually like this one the best) Regulus leaving Barty for James

King Of My Heart -this is Regulus to James. "Late at night, the city's asleep" pretty much them in choices, only ever neeting when everyone else is in bed. "Your love is a secret I'm hoping, dreaming, dying to keep" from his family because they ruin everything.

DWOHT - Again, Starchaser all the way. "I loved you in spite of deep fears that the world would devide us." Literally James & Reg since they knew they were on different teams in the war. Generally, I think this is Reg's perspective just because then he's the one who keeps having a bad feeling and whose "love had been frozen" before they got together.

Dress - MacEvans, MacEvans, MACEVANS! It's literally them when they realize they have a crush on the other. They're flirting without anyone else noticing, everything hidden away because it's still so new to them. "I don't want you like a best friend" HELLO??? That's them. Period.

TIWWCHNT - this is Sirius "the Drama queen" Black. I have no idea who he's saying this to but it's him. For sure. (Although it also works for (fanon) Barty)

CIWYW - this is wolfstar from Sirius' perspective. Sirius who made out with quite a lot of girls before realizing he has a massive crush on one of his best friends and now (some) people are talking shit about them but Sirius doesn't care he has Remus and that's great. Also, this song is about independence in the relationship which just makes sense for Sirius, considering he grew up in a controlling house and probably wants to feel free after escaping Grimmauld Place

New Year's Day -again, wolfstar. They just...idk it just fits. They're together while the World around them is messy and at times that mess finds a way into their relationship but they try to work through it

Also I like the angst that comes from Bucky pining after Steve, a man who abandoned him, because I like inflicting emotional trauma on my favorite characters

Least Favorite Character: I was going to copy/paste the Jurgen Leitner rant and replace him with John Walker, because that perfectly sums up how I feel about that smug bastard, but it was too long. Watching him get the shit kicked out of him was an amazing feeling, and I hope if they include him in the MCU going forward, he has many brutal ass-beatings in the future. FUCK I hate him. Second place goes to Raynor. Hate her, but her face doesn't provoke the same visceral reaction that Walker's does

Least Favorite Ship: Bucky/Zemo. People really looked at one character who psychologically destroyed the other in the most malicious possible way and went "Yeah I'll ship that." I mean, ship whatever you want, fiction is not reality, etc. etc., but it's on my blacklisted tag list for a reason

Reason Why I Watch It: I'm mentally ill and imprinted on Bucky Barnes like a baby duckling the second I saw him slide across a highway and dig his metal fingers into the pavement, and then they introduced the dynamic he had with Sam and I was just absolutely smitten. SamBucky my beloved. Let them kiss

Why I Started Watching It: I mean, I was hyped about Bucky being in the show, and then that trailer came out with that knee thing and just *gay screaming*

but srsly tho i loved how the new one rlly explored cartman & clyde’s dynamic and friendship and actually gave clyde something to do for once and gave him depth. i never rlly cared for clyde much before but he was complex af in the special. i like how even tho clyde is considered the dumb one he still had enough common sense to realize those cred drinks were pointless and stupid, but he couldn’t help but fall for the peer pressure which sums up his character perfectly bc he always tries too hard to be cool just like cartman lol. ANNND they revealed that one time clyde is the second fattest kid so he prob has A LOT in common with cartman personality wise too and is prob the more mild version of him. this episode reminded me of “lice capades” and followed the same formula sort of. both episodes are about clyde hiding something from the other kids bc he was afraid of being singled out and made fun of. it was also nice seeing cartman hang out with a new group of friends rather than stan & kyle for once. bc it was obvious butters, clyde, and tweek were actually nice to cartman and treated him with respect unlike stan & kyle who are fake friends and constantly put him down all the time and just use him for shit. cartman needs people in his life who are gonna APPRECIATE him for his rizz and leadership qualities and how much he pulls through for the people around him. i also feel like we got to see that a bit in “dikinbaus hot dogs” too when cartman & kenny were hanging out and kenny actually ENJOYED being around cartman. and then bitchass kyle wonders why cartman and kenny are sooo close. like no der ofc cartman wants a friend who’s actually gonna be NICE to him and kenny wants a friend he can have fun with and fuck around and not worry abt trivial things all the time. honestly i feel like the reason why kenny is so damn shy & passive is bc he hangs out with stan & kyle too much and they’re terrible friends to him and just treat him like he’s the least significant one in the group (as they do with cartman too, but when cartman aint there kenny is their punching bag). so yeah it’s no wonder why kenny feels insecure af and doesn’t even feel comfortable SHOWING HIS FACE and talking & contributing. i feel like cartman helps him open up more and have more fun & let loose. so is it rlly a surprise kenny prefers cartman as a best friend over stan & kyle?

Headcanon/theory: Kai had no friends pre-pilots and suggestion: all his arcs are focused around his dynamics in the team and honestly should have got more focus.

So Kai’s arc in the pilots show him having to learn to work in a group dynamic. He takes up a lancer/loner type role who has to learn to put aside his own first impulses and work with the team to tackle the problem. His true potential in s1, is also about him putting aside his own ambition to be the green ninja to fulfil his role in the team as one of the teachers and protectors of the green ninja.

What would’ve been a great arc for Kai in s4 would’ve been him having more of a role in getting the team back together. I mean s4 was framed like a Kai season, it was about the team getting back together, the start of the season highlighted Kai’s reoccurring character flaw of feeling like he’s on his own or he’s the one (when he says it should’ve been him to be sacrificed to the overlord and Lloyd tells him that he’s only thinking about himself - I’m reading that scene as not Kai being selfish per say but Kai only being able to consider himself in the picture, he doesn’t think about relying on his friends or being there later for the rest of his friends, and that he thinks he can solve things on his own, idk if this makes sense lol), we even get a revisit of Kai’s green ninja gripes, and ofc Chen perfectly foils Kai’s togetherness arc by being the guy who drives people apart.

And then we have s5 where Kai promises to protect Lloyd (in place of Garmadon) which kinda shows how far Kai’s come in terms of his relationship specifically with Lloyd. I will say in general also but I know someone’s going to say that Kai already does this with Nya so it’s not like this is new or proof of character growth. I think this is character growth tho, and I don’t think he was as idk parental of Nya in a sense that he had to take care of her and was put in a position of authority over her because idk they’re what, two years apart (also they had a babysitter who looked after them, so like Kai didn’t just parent her at age 4 yknow)? And apart from the pilots, in which she got kidnapped, Kai hasn’t really needed to be protective or really, parental with Nya. He’s very chill when he finds out she’s Samurai X, in the first few seasons she kinda acts like she’s older just because she’s a little more put together (I mean, she studied engineering in her free time). In fact I’m pretty sure Nya had more friends than Kai, since she mentions knowing people in s2, where as Kai’s character arc seems to be him getting friends and dealing with it. And when Kai promises to watch over Lloyd, he mentions how Nya watched over him, not the other way round. So to sum up that side tangent, Kai’s dynamic with Lloyd is definitely different to his dynamic with Nya, and that Kai is only starting his nurturing and guiding brotherly nature in s5. Although I think s5 is supposed to conclude Kai’s teamwork arc, since I don’t think it’s all that relevant in the rest of the show.

So yeah I think it makes sense that Kai didn’t really have friends pre pilots, as a lot of his arcs can be seen as him working on that area of his life and getting used to being with other people. His character arc was becoming friend shaped.

Anyway I got into Inuyasha like a year ago (or maybe two years ago i dont remember <3)

But then i kinda fell off it as i do once i finish things. usually after i finish something the most I'll do is like look at fanart, watch clips, and occasionally listen to the ops and eds.

But for some godforsaken reason

I got back into it. And i decided to read the manga

And I've been enjoying it a lot. (Apart from some minor things that haven't aged too well.. looking at u, miroku..) I enjoy the Inugang's dynamic and the found family they created.

Also let's talk about that Love Triangle..

Kikyo vs Kagome..

After reading the manga.. It's not a competition. At all 😭

The first time i watched Inuyasha i thought kagome was in the way. And i think i quit watching it for a while.

But eventually i started it back up, and after kikyo died for the umpteenth time i was begging "Please let her rest in peace, please"

Now reading the manga.. I think it's more clear that Inuyasha's more guilty about what happened with Kikyo. He's happier when he's with Kagome. And both of the relationships are both pretty different.

With Kikyo, it's two lonely people finding solace with each other. Inuyasha, because he's a half-demon. Kikyo, because she's the protector of the shikon jewel. Their love is intense as first love is (.. i would not know tho lol) But ultimately they go into it too fast. Kikyo immediately thinks the shikon jewel can be destroyed if Inuyasha wishes to be human and Inuyasha goes with it. This way Kikyo can become a normal woman and Inuyasha.. well, he gets acceptance. Of course this never comes to fruition (because Naraku is a petty bitch™️). But ultimately, the issue was undoubtedly, their lack of trust.

They didn't really know each other.

Anyway, let's move onto the relationship with Kagome. Basically the relationship starts off rocky (probably because seeing someone who looks exactly like your dead ex-girlfriend [and is her reincarnation] who you thought betrayed you will shake anyone up I think. Also Inuyasha is kind of a buttmunch in the beginning.) But, his old feelings for kikyo eventually start to show as he sees her in kagome.. at first. And Kagome starts to wonder if she's a replacement for Kikyo.

The anime for some reason didn't include this, but Inuyasha basically tells her that Kagome is herself and that there is no replacement for her.

And his relationship with Kagome also helps him open up and form relationships with others. (i.e. Shippo, Miroku, and Sango)

He's not lonely anymore.

But Kikyo's resurrection complicates things. Especially when she wants to drag Inuyasha into hell with her at first.

Basically, Inuyasha starts thinking that he doesn't deserve to feel happy because of Kikyo and her demise that was orchestrated by Naraku.

But Kagome shows him otherwise. She decides to stay by his side because she loves him and wants to see him happy.

A YouTuber by the name of Bonsai Pop made a video about the series and I think summed it up perfectly.

Kikyo is his past. Kagome is his future.

Kikyo is the choice to die, Kagome is the choice to live.

(Don't take this as me hating on Kikyo by the way. Her character is pretty interesting and it's extremely tragic what happened to her.)

The start of the series is a nice metaphor for this. Like when Inuyasha is stuck to the tree by the arrow.

The arrow in a way represents his regrets with Kikyo. He's stuck to tree, unable to move forward in time. But Kagome pulls that arrow out. He's able to move on now.

And i think that's so beautiful.

I think most VC fans agree with Anne's take on Lestat though, they see him as faultless which the narrative validates cause no one ever challenges his version of events, like we are all just supposed to assume it was Louis who lied and nothing else, that's why they're all up in arms about what happened in the show cause "he would never do that". Hell even with the show some of them think he didn't deserve the murder and fully blame Claudia for causing the rift.

yea, its tricky cuz no one not the meta narrative or in universe actually challenges lestat when it comes to his response to louis’s interview, but id say characters in tvc absolutely challenge lestat’s character [his disposition, ways of thinking, actions& shit] & get on his ass heavy. so i feel like that implicitly should put his perspective in question the same as any other character’s [at least it did for me] but ur rite in that the vc fanbase esp the OGs do fall in line w rice’s own opinions. it certainly didnt help that shed get on ppl’s asses for writing fic, disagreeing with her, had a wide variety of contradictory, differing opinions on her own work& ppls interpretation of the text that didnt agree perfectly w/ however she felt at the time.. yk the whole interrogating the text from the wrong perspective essay on amazon reviews lol. yet certainly we are all bonded in discussing an adaptation of her literary canon which says sum yk. i think expecting a visual medium to perfectly adapt a book line by line is impossible if not borderline ignorance, but an excellent adaptation will show what made the source a good, veritable commentary on humanity. i dont think ppl should fly into deranged clear the searches campaigns when amc does use the merits of rice’s work & interrogates lestat’s crueler ways more than his cruel actions that was glossed over in the source [bc rice had diff intentions/views on it]. i think the nature of visual adaptations done decades after the source mean as viewers, we are already exposed to multiple threads from tvc (tvl, tva, allusions to the mayfair family, the talamasca, the whole impending vampire apocalypse which may or may not be a red herring this time, claudia’s diary, etc) that show this is not only louis’s interview, but a question on the fruit of memory itself. what is recollection to an immortal creature but a drop in the ocean? what does it mean to be immortal, if not living the same live over. and over. and over. again? anyways likeeee tbf at least anne rice had an excuse for why she was so crazy about lestat, he was her muse & based off the man she stayed with all her life. honestly if i made a trio based off me, my old work& our abortion and it blew up like this id delete my presence from everyone’s minds lol. but. them fans dont have an excuse cuz thats not what lestat means to them. ofc these books & lestat’s chara may have been pivotal in their coming of age but i also think as now adults, they should accept w the infamy of tvc & its adaptations mean varying ppl w different frames of reference will have different takes on this. yea, as kids we cant articulate an understanding of dv and intimidation tactics , but as adults u should be able to re evaluate fictional dynamics & have mature discourse w/o flashing out on ppl or going on clear the searches campaigns. i guess the existence of rl martyrs for these fictional vampires answer the question ppl had yesterday on antoinette too? lol
