1. It’s your birthday! What did you ask for and did you receive it?

Uh, well—on here, I asked for nothing and received enough love to get me through, like, the whole next year tbh 🥺 Irl, I always make my mom a little list of ideas, my favorite of which was a trench coat! My grandma picked it out, and it’s now my new favorite piece of clothing!

2. What was the last song or album you listened to?

123456 by Fitz and The Tantrums (it’s a really bright, catchy song!)

3. What is your go to snack when you’re hungry or bored?

Almonds, pineapple, apples with peanut butter, chips, + more haha

4. What is your morning routine?

It varies based on the season. Right now, it looks something like waking up, doing basics like washing my face and making my bed, checking my major notifications, drinking a pint of water, making coffee, and listening to music.

5. What mythical/cryptid creature would you be?

I dunno—maybe an itty bitty dragon? Something not very flashy, but still fun!

6. How do you interact with someone that you don’t like?

I’m pretty reserved IRL so not much is changing. Depending on how much I dislike them, of course! If I really have something against someone, I just make myself scarce. But that’s only, like, two people atm, so... idk haha 😅

7. How do you define a toxic person?

Someone who is selfish, all the time, who continually makes other people’s lives worse

8. Have you ever been to a concert or fanmeet type of event? If not, would you want to?

No kpop concerts for me, but a few for Western artists! Musicals are a big yes, and fanmeets no. I would love to go if I went with a friend!

9. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?

Sort of. I think my chart is very, very accurate, and I think a lot of people’s charts I’ve checked have been pretty accurate, too. But I think it’s not as all-encompassing as people sometimes treat it and certainly believe it’s just for fun!

10. If you had only one sense (hearing, touch, sight, etc.), which would you want?

Sight. I would really, really miss hearing, but one of my first loves was reading, and sign language is becoming more and more common! Plus, I need sunsets and stars more than music, at the end of the day.

11. Who is your favorite celebrity or idol?

Boo Seungkwan (see: profile pic haha)

12. If you could talk to your favorite celebrity(s) for a limited time, what would you tell them?

I think Seventeen is a group very intent on being themselves and following their passions. So I would tell them that I see that in their work, and that they’ve inspired me to do the same. I would hope that, to them, those words might be one of the best compliments.

13. I’m taking you out on a date and it’s your choice. Where are we going and what are we going to do?

We’re driving to a cute town a few hours away, listening to our favorite songs and eating our favorite snacks. Wander around; take some pictures. Go back home, pulling over to watch the sunset. There’s a heart-to-heart at some point.

14. Do you like sweet or savory foods?

Both, but I would go sweet if I had to choose

15. Do you have any band merchandise or merchandise from any of your favorite artists? If so, what?

So, I have a ton of Hamilton stuff. I feel like that should count. For kpop, I have a Seungkwan signed copy of An Ode, and a signed copy of Heng:garae on the way!

PLOT CALL

hey y’all so i’m finally done with stamina which means i can stop just hoarding replies and get some actual character development rolling on this little man, so to help jumpstart that i’m gonna be doing a plot call! under the cut i’ll put some plot and relationship ideas i’ve been stewing over the last couple days and i’m super open to brainstorming as well if nothing suits you/your muse’s fancy! hit me up in tumblr ims if you don’t have my twt or discord so i can share those with you, or just hit me up in ims to plot there! most of these plots require further plotting, so definitely talk to me!

anyways, fun stuff under the cut.

oo1. special request - so my close good friend carly keeps talking about how woong would make a hot drummer so if there’s any other drum playing muses out there, wanna give a boy some lessons? it’s unlikely that he’d seek it out himself without an ulterior motive of some sort or being cajoled into it tbh, but maybe he’s trying to get closer to your muse (a fleeting crush mayhap), or lost a bet or something. open to other instruments as well, since he’s absolutely useless at fcking everything.

oo2. way back when - childhood friends plot. preferably around the same age as woong, ‘00-’97ish range, male or female. the two of them grew up in the same neighborhood and your muse knew the soft, good woong before the rather traumatic way his parents split up and he became the bitter boy he is today. somehow they’ve managed to stay friends to this day, and this friend helps woong to be a little softer. bonus: did one ever have a crush on the other?

oo3. your smile - a first love plot. male, ‘00-’97ish age range. woong liked your muse so much once upon a time, but it never worked out. maybe it was a crush that was never requited (for any reason, maybe your muse wasn’t also gay, maybe they just didn’t feel the same way at the time), but it was probably for the best that it fizzled out. the two have recently reconnected and they’ve found out they still make stellar friends. maybe they still think about what could have been?

oo4. high school was so last season - male or female, ‘00-’07ish. could be from his high school or another school. for whatever reason, these two just did not get along back in the day. they argued at every turn, never to the point of fists but sometimes tensions did get quite heated. it might have been a rivalry gone awry or just a collection of misunderstandings. woong went to a private all-boys academy, but even if your muse went to another school maybe they kept running into each other at other public spaces. as for what’s going on now, maybe they can reconcile. or maybe they’re just destined to argue and fight until the end of time.

oo5. kept in the dark - ex plot. male, ‘00-’97ish range. woong’s profile right now mentions his short-lived fraud of a relationship with a girl, but maybe at some point he had tried again, only this time more honest to himself. sorta. he was in the closet the whole time the two were in the relationship, refusing to budge even an inch. maybe that’s why it ended, or maybe there were other things going on, different places in life or goals or something else entirely. in any case, it didn’t end as well as it should have. now, maybe they’re trying to be friends again. how will it go?

oo6. a little less useless - any gender or age. woong as a muse was designed to be almost entirely uninterested in music or the idol industry, but since his closest friends keep getting signed and leaving him, he’s suddenly had the motivation to try to join them in their fancy little companies. to do this, he needs to learn how to sing or dance or something. this plot is open to multiple muses: anyone who’s helping him work toward any sort of performance skill. maybe your muse is dragging him along to dance classes, or maybe they’re giving voice lessons themselves, or even just bringing him along to indie/underground concerts and performances to encourage him. a super flexible plot and probably the most important one on my list!

oo7. event help - any gender or age. along the same lines as the last plot, woong isn’t good at anything and wasn’t interested in being good until recently. someone make him do that dance competition, one way or another!

oo8. i’m your fan - for the idols or public trainees out there, perhaps woong could stan. even just casually, since he’s lived in korea his whole life of course he’s heard kpop on the radio or in malls and shops. he’s more likely to be familiar with idols than trainees, but perhaps he can meet someone he enjoys music from and get a little excited and starstruck from meeting a celebrity in person. and no, haknyeon, you don’t count as a celeb. woong knew you before then.

oo9. not a fan - similar to the last plot, but the opposite. he actively hates this idol or trainee, going so far as to say so on public social media accounts. what’s he gonna do when he actually meets this person, this figure he never thought he’d ever be in the same room as, face to face? is he gonna own up to his words now that they’d have to be spoken in person? honestly, knowing woong, probably.

this is all i’ve got for now but at least it’s a start!! i’ll add more and reblog this post as i think of them and add them!

ok like I really didn’t want to write this essay but I’m just itching to say this and have been holding it in for a very long time haha. BIG DISCLAIMER is that im not defending them but i want people to understand why exactly they watch their idols commit these acts time and time again. please understand i am not defending but merely helping you guys see it from a different point of view. again not excusing their behaviour. understand??? ok.

okay so people from the west are always like but you should know by now!!! doing a is racist or doing b is racist. it’s 2019!!!

but the question is why? if I am a person from Korea, a monoethnic, racially homogeneous country (less than 5% are non-korean and top two nationalities are chinese and vietnamese which are u kno same skin colour basically), why would I personally take the time to know that or more importantly, how? I do not see people who are different from me (skin colour wise and also general culture) on a daily basis, I do not see their struggles on the news. I do not know these struggles exist at all. woke tweets/twitter threads/discourse on Twitter don’t reach me because 1 I most probably do not know English remotely well enough to understand it and 2 who is gonna retweet English stuff on my tl anyway. moreover, their news source is like naver articles and im v sure naver aren’t talking about this stuff. also big news outlets like vox or vice that typically talk about things like this certainly don’t have their articles translated in korean so I ask again, how?

now I won’t speak for people who have been called out on doing blackface and then apologizing and saying they understand only for them to turn around and do something racist again but for the general population I can promise you that they watched the news of trudeau getting called out for his blackface pics a while back and a lot of people in Asia went … that’s racist? yeah, most people didn’t know it was. and here’s where I want to say that it comes down to ignorance.

I’ll be very honest and say that I didn’t know blackface was a problem until I came to America to study. I didn’t know that the n word was derogatory until I was maybe 16. my country didn’t even censor the word when it was on radio until around 2013. Africans are few and far between in east Asian countries therefore there aren’t any people in our local population to tell us like hey that’s wrong. we learn what we learn about these things through tv & movies (which tbh doesn’t do a great job anyway and i’m sure you’d agree) and honestly you will be shocked to know how many people living in Asia still do not know that the n word is a derogatory term. I promise you that if you ask them they’ll tell you they think the word means bro/dude/homie and nothing else. i learned what i learned about the n word through movies and i know y’all are gonna laugh but i learned from things like django unchained, the help and etc. maybe learnt it from when a celebrity who got called out for using it. so i think you’ll understand now. if anything i blame their PR person for not educating them because surely they see the comments whenever they get into one of these situations.

but regarding the general population, they say we should know about slavery and thus how the n word came about because white Americans used it as a slur in that time and it still continues to this day. but to them I want to say how many of you listen to kpop and know even a sliver of korean history? how about the big one, the history between Korea and Japan? yeah I don’t think many do know or even if you do it’s barely surface level. (i’m talking in general, i know one or two of you are probs v smart and know all of this) maybe they’ll argue we should know about america and their struggles because they’re a powerful country, an economic powerhouse and to that I say what about China which is obviously an economic powerhouse of their own. do you know anything about China;s history or the country in general other than a lot of things are made there??? ye I’m pretty sure the answer is going to be no. sometimes i understand people going like wait how can you not know but then again if you put things into perspective, you’ll then understand why they don’t know. when you’re from your country, your news is the biggest news. likewise, in my country my country’s news is the biggest news too. we have our own problems and issues too that seem like the biggest things to us. that’s not to say american racial issues are not important but it’s just in the scale of things, maybe not as important as the immediate issues someone is facing. it’s like if i were asking an american to care about the korea vs japan thing. you wont because you’re not there, you know? or palestine vs israel, the racial or rather religion issue, war, killing, land issue (im oversimplifying the issue but i’m sure you get my point). again, NOT DEFENDING but put yourself in our shoes and you’ll see why some people don’t know it’s an issue even if it’s 2019.

so then comes the issue of cultural appropriation. i would like to say that it is a western concept or rather moral belief and teaching. I don’t think it exists in the east asian part of the world because they are again largely monoethnic/racially homogenous countries. see when you go to Korea and Japan they don’t mind if you wear the hanbok or kimono. in fact they encourage it lol like in korea you get free entrance to gyeongbukgong palace if you’re in traditional wear. thus it’s always odd to them when Asian Americans get upset over things like a white person wearing their traditional wear. (again not dismissing or dictating how Asian Americans should feel but merely trying to explain the difference in mindset.) take the white girl who wore a cheong sam/qi pao aka Chinese traditional wear to prom in America… Asian Americans got really upset meanwhile people in China were like yeah that’s cool that she chose to wear it!!! and that’s because we didn’t grow up in America and we didn’t get made fun of when we wore our traditional costume or when we brought our food to school. Thus, the concept of cultural appropriation is hard to grasp in that part of the world. So when we see other people wearing our stuff we’re like huh that’s nice/cute.

Even multicultural and multiracial countries like Malaysia and Singapore, we often wear each other’s traditional costume for celebrations and weddings and sometimes just for no reason. It’s normal to us so to this day cultural appropriation remains a very foreign concept. Mostly because we don’t know what it’s like to be made fun of for simply being us. So for us it’s like we see something we like, we wear it. it’s never been a problem so we never think to ask the question: should I not be wearing this? they say we should know that cornrows, gel twists and etc. belong to the black community and they are discriminated against when they have it but when white people have it, it’s okay but again… i’m not in your country, i don’t see your struggles, so therefore, i don’t know. i think the problem is people say like hey it’s racist, it’s cultural appropriation and that’s usually the final message that reaches them and never really the explanation. so they’re like hmm they say it’s racist but i don’t really understand why so i don’t see why it’s wrong and i’m going to keep doing it. AGAIN, not defending, just explaining. (also, for some reason cornrows are a thing to get on beaches in thailand. don’t know why… it’s just a thing and that’s honestly where i’ve always seen cornrows so for a very long time i didn’t know it was wrong to do it? still struggle with it too because my experience with cornrows has nothing to do with african americans, you know?) and this could be the same for many people. again, just explaining, not trying to say it isn’t wrong.

lastly, conservatism. yes namjoon speaks of things like gender identities and feminism and yoongi wanted the bt21 characters to be gender neutral and he hinted at how he doesn’t care about gender. ok but that’s two out of 7 of them. and then take the whole population. is lgbt frequently represented in their media? no. is marriage between lgbt partners legally recognized? no. does the average korean know what pansexual, asexual, gender fluid and so on means? probably not. they’re also still fighting feminism in Korea. ask an average guy what they think about feminism and you’ll get disgruntled moans. they don’t even see why there should be a female only carriage on their subway system. they think it’s a waste. even after the whole stabbing case in gangnam. and the prevalent problem korea has with hidden cameras and girls getting recorded unknowingly when they’re having sex. e.g: the burning sun scandal which of course had to do with WAY MORE than just that. then again korea has some sort of law where they can put a man in jail if they look at them in a way (probably like sexually e.g: ogling) or so my friends tell me. my korean guy friends were complaining about it, and i think it’s in a larger context of workplace harassment but yes that’s what they took away from it, which is telling of what they think about the feminism issue. also just ask the females in korean society how sometimes their brother is preferred over them. East asian cultures typically prefer males over females because the son will pass on the family name. the son will be the breadwinner etc etc etc. korea struggles with workplace equality too.

hierarchy is a big thing in Korea. age matters. just one year older and you have to use honorifics. don’t use them and they might actually physically fight you. if the older person serves you a drink, you must turn to your side before you drink from the glass. especially in workplaces if the older person says you’re wrong, then you’re wrong. arguing is discouraged. and it’s a very famous case but Korea airlines used to be one of the worst performing airlines (meaning there were a lot of crashes) and it was for this very reason. because of the cockpit gradient, meaning co-pilots felt they couldn’t tell their pilots something was wrong because the pilots are more senior thus they couldn’t argue. Google it.

in Korea filial piety is very strong. what your parents say is very important. disobeying them is almost like asking to be disowned. education is big. getting into SKY is the dream. largely unattainable if you are not the cream of the crop but there’s a loophole. if your kid studies overseas for 12 years, when they come back, it’s easier to get into SKY or uni in general. so for 12 years usually the mother and the children go to countries like Malaysia and send their kids to school there just so they can get into a university more easily. imagine that. parents willing to spend 12 years of their lives outside of their home country just so their kid can get into a good uni. and they want to go to SKY to end up in big firms like Samsung and the like. it’s why people do literally anything to get into SKY. and yes that includes going for extra classes until like 12 am. doesn’t matter if you don’t wanna study. you just gotta do it. a lot of pressure in korean society.

Koreans as a society are very herd-like. they all mostly think and dress and wear makeup the same. I know it sounds like I’m generalizing but if you were in Korea 2 winters ago literally almost everyone was wearing a long black puffer winter jacket. the kind that went to your ankles. and when I say almost everyone, I really mean it. there are pictures of it and even videos. and with a lot of trends it’s the same. the straight eyebrow trend. the pink eyeshadow trend. the permed hair trend for guys. Asian societies are taught to blend in rather than stand out. Americans for example reward individualism. that’s not really the case in Asia. in school a good student is a quiet student. not the outspoken student. again herd mentality isn’t exactly exclusive to korea and i dont know how to explain it but it’s quite next level in korea haha. if you’ve lived there or you know korean people, you know what i’m talking about.

then there’s the sogaeting trend… aka the blind date thing… anyway you gotta be a part of it when you’re in college. when in college it’s expected of you to find someone to date. everyone wants to be cc aka campus couple which is actual korean slang. feelsbad if you’re single. on the topic of dating, a lot of people especially older gen don’t like it when you date someone who isn’t korean. even those in our gen also. i’ve also heard it’s hard to make true friends in korea like they’ll always be surface friends but nothing more. i’ve heard this from friends who are fluent in korean too so it’s not really the language barrier. maybe cultural? sometimes they’re ignorant towards other cultures like if you’re from SEA and they haven’t been there before they’ll ask if they live on trees in the country you're from. this is a true story, happened many times.

also most college dorms have curfews and men and women live in separate buildings. and have you ever watched korean dramas and stopped to wonder why hugging is always such an omg moment? can you ever imagine a western rom com series and the cliffhanger of the episode is that they hugged? y'all would laugh. but that’s just what it’s like in Korea. girls and guys dont typically hug unless they’re dating. will never forget my korean friend bringing her other korean friends to their first ‘American’ party (meaning all the past parties they were at, there were only koreans in attendance) and they saw us hugging our guy friends and they’re like wait you guys aren’t dating and y'all hug??? and then they said 와 외국인 스타일… aka wow foreigner style. yes this isn’t everyone but it’s mostly everyone. that’s why celebs don’t hug each other because it’s not normal for them and ya their fan base would literally have an aneurysm. but u kno guys and guys are ok and girls and girls are ok. typically very touchy towards same gender. not sure why lol. also one night stands are also 외국인 스타일. and tattoos are sort of illegal. don’t get me started on drugs. you saw what happened with TOP. to them WEED = BAD. they’re like not weed NOOOO. it took them so long to allow it for medical use. yeah and abortion is a no. lots of christians in korea. also tons of very cult-like christian type of things. you’ve probably seen them shouting at myeong-dong if you’ve been.

that’s not to say korea is superbly conservative overall. i’m just saying it’s not a liberal happyland either. there are lgbt people, there are people who go for one night stands (apparently that’s what clubs are for lol they go there to pick the prey of the night) etc. etc. etc. i know this comes off kind of harsh but i like korea and a lot of my friends are korean and there are many wonderful things about the place and the people. but this is just the topic of discussion for the day thus it came out that way. disclaimer again that my intention is not to excuse their behaviour. just giving a different viewpoint. you may understand and still not agree. that’s cool. i’m always down to learn so if you intend to educate i’m always down to listen. no name-calling and stuff pls. doesn’t get anyone anywhere.

So I'm writing to you cause you seem like a genuinely nice person and I kind of want someone's opinion who actually likes BTS and their music. Don't you ever feel detached from them and their music, because of how corporate the kpop industry is? It's hard for me to sometimes see them as actual people because of how they are portrayed by the media and it always leads me to question how much of it is real and how much is fake.

Like when we look at the resent drama about how unhealthy they look and how they constantly look on the verge of collapsing, I remember how cruel the idol world is. For some reason reading the lyrics to 땡 sort of triggered it for me. I don’t really know why. The boys are so talented and sometimes I just wish that we could see behind the screens and know if they truly are the people that the media makes them into. Also I kind of just want to wral them all in blankets and feed them properly tbh…

These asks really dont have enough words and I’m sorry for sending three lol. But yeah, what are your feelings on this whole thing? I also hope I didn’t come across as rude or something, that was never my intention.

i know what you mean in terms of struggling to see them as real people because they’re obviously celebrities and so they’re put on a pedestal for the tiniest actions that they do. in a way, i know bts try to keep it pretty real compared to western artists and all that, but seeing them grow since 2014, bts has definitely stopped being as open and honest with who they are and showing their true selves to fans as much over time, which is understandable in its own way: back in 2014 the fans were less in number and while we were a dedicated, loving bunch, we weren’t nearly as……….intense (the word i want to say is crazy, honestly). with millions of fans now, their tiniest actions are overanalyzed and watched and calculated and nobody in that position can afford to be their ‘true’ selves surrounded with that kind of pressure. you know the lyrics of ‘the truth untold’ kind of sums it up pretty well. the fact that bts has to wear masks (figuratively of course) to talk to fans, even though they love them and can’t show their true, more dark, broken or hurting selves but just have to painfully smile and keep their emotional distance.

about the way bts has become a commercialized asset, i once made a post about it here and honestly, my thoughts havent changed much since then. the entire idea of fansigns themselves make me kinda ill.

on your point on the idol world being cruel, even though i don’t advocate it in any way whatsoever and dearly and desperately wish they were treated more humanely by their companies, i have to be honest: not just bts but nearly every idol group undergoes that terrible overworked and dehumanizing treatment. it’s definitely not only bts and bts themselves also dealt with it even when the weren’t famous.

I’m the Win Win anon!! I rarely use Tumblr and just like looking through the hashtags, but thank you for your long response! I agree with you! I also found out about NCT around October 2020 and through 3 months of unemployment tried my best to learn and become familiarized w the group! WinWin was the first one I knew of because he’s three days younger than me! I was shook people my age (Jaehyun and Sicheng) were doing something like this. I was also just learning more about KPop. But the situation with the unfairness he was experiencing definitely interested me. Some interesting things I found out was that SM literally begged him to come to them while he was in China. He didn’t discovered them or audition for them - they discovered him and went to him, even at one point he rejected their offer. I didn’t see much personality from him looking through previous variety or music videos until I came across the lovely choreography he did with Ten and I was astonished. No one could ever. The emotions and movements he made were beautiful. And that dancing compared to the harsh (still beautifully artistic) movements from, ex. NCT127, were oil and water in a way. Like you said, learning a second language. But there must’ve been something SM wanted so badly from him to have him come and even become part of 127 from the beginning. I understand language barrier and such, but it’s become apparent how his treatment seems different from the other members. And like you said, the China x S. Korea tensed relations - yet that doesn’t stop Chenle and Rejun from showing themselves as individuals. I think I’ve heard as well that SM wants WayV to be big in China so they’ve removed “relation” in a way to make the group seem more individual, even if they’re still part of NCT. But still. All the other WayV, specially Ten, seem to have bundles of opportunities to work for SM. I mean, look at SuperM. OH and about the image fit with NCT ... if I’m not mistaken, I believe this was during that one VLive of NCT Resonance 2020 - there was a moment that he said something like he will try to change his personality more. Something like that. And I began to notice a change in how he communicated via VLives and interviews etc. Obviously people grow and become accustomed to things plus it’s his job. But I did see a change. I did enjoy seeing him more and having him communicate via his Winformation and VLives he’s been in. Anyway, while I’m sure these people are more genuine behind cameras to what their true self is, I do think he’s someone that does not try much to be something he’s not. And I think that even his members see that, that’s why I wish the best for him. I don’t want him to know we pity him, but more so we want him to shine with his talents more and be taken into appreciation for that! Anyway, thank your for your responses! I hope we have a nighter and bigger year of NCT!❤️

OH gosh their Rainbow V Lovely choreo is so :')))) such beauty and you said it exactly right anon~ no one could ever hahaha Modern dance is much more fluid compared to urban dance, so I feel like it was easier for him to, you know, dance/choreograph that. Or if you look at his movements vs. Ten's, you can kind of see a difference--this isn't something I observed by myself, I once watched a youtube video about how his natural movements are different, but he's a lot more languid and sweeping and wide & open and just,,, It just has a whole different sort of flow, you know? 2. What would you do if you had a million dollars?

i’d probably travel a bit, buy a nice place to live somewhere, go to a few concerts i’d wanted to see, buy stuff that my family need, maybe use some of it to start a business or smthg ajkdhaskjhkh idk;;;; i’d probably put some of it towards a charity, something focused on either environmental problems or curing diseases

3. Are there any years in your life you would like to do over?

probably last year at uni?? there are a couple things i would do differently, like living with different people bc Mistakes Were Made

i’ve only been hungover like twice in my life bc i just don’t get hungover when i drink;;;; the first was st. patrick’s day last year (i haven’t been able to touch Bailey’s since) and the other time was at my cousin’s wedding 🙈🙈 i usually have peppermint tea for the nausea/stomach ache, lots of water & apple juice (and some pain meds;;; also stay away from citrus/acidy drinks) for the headache, and i’d stick to bland foods like bread and bananas

6. What’s your favourite kpop album and why?

this is such a loaded and difficult question oh my days ashjdajslkl

honestly, if i had to pick just one (and i could literally only do this if there were a gun pointed to my head), i would have to pick Noir by B.A.P;;;; every single song on that album is so uniquely good and beautiful i was just so impressed the more i listened to it

1 who is your bias group? why?

BANGTAN SONYEONDAN AKA MEME SQUAD !!!!!!! honestly they just make me so beyond happy wow holly nobody ever says that about their favs ur original a LOOOT of music is centered around love these days and not to say bts doesn’t do that with a lot of their music but they also tackle a lot of societal issues and I really respect them for that. From 21st century girls w politics, spring day mv and the ferry sinking, suicide in the I need u mv and many other things I feel like they take risks for the sake of portraying what they hold true to their hearts/morals not necessarily what will sell best and I can’t name many other groups who do that as well :( also my boys cute af I love those dweebs IM SO WHIPPED HAH

4 who do you look up to as a role model (in the kpop community or not)?

there’s no person in particular that really sticks out but I will say I’ve always admired jungkook, and really all trainees for that matter, who leave their families to start training really young because its a process thats hard physically, emotionally and mentally for late teen/early twenties trainees but there’s sO many kids who enter in their pre-teens and idk how they survive also I realized this doesn’t answer your question at all I'm sorry its 1:28 AM I’m just waiting for the DNA mv to drop

5 whose concert would you go to if you could and why?

I LOVE TOO MANY TALENTED PEOPLE also I would say bts but although there are countless amazing beautiful armys there are def some crazy scary ones that are known to be horrible at concerts so

I’d absolutely love to be in the entertainment industry and I think the staging, costuming, group dynamics and publicity (variety shows, fan service/interations) in the kpop industry are all really cool but I honestly don't think I have the mental strength to do it lmao idols go through so much and I don’t think I could handle it regardless of how much I enjoy singing/dancing/performing etc.

8 what languages do you speak, and which do you want to learn?

english and some spanish??? I understand a lot because quite a bit of my family speaks it but my conversational skills have gone downhill recently because I haven’t had a lot of opportunities to practice :( with that said, I’d like to be fluent in spanish and - BEFORE YOU COME FOR ME READ IT ALL OK - I’d like to learn korean BECAUSE!!!!! when I was little before I moved I would go to a farmers market by my house and a lot of the older ladies there spoke korean and little holly though it sounded so pretty and I always wanted to chat w them ok THATS WHY I’m not a creepy koreaboo this has been a thing since before I even knew what a kpop was ok bye

I love the interactions that they have both with each other and with their fans (of course watching them interact with other groups too warms my heart). But they are so cute? And precious? And when they are themselves it makes me so happy? Their laughs are pure perfection? Their passion is also SO admirable.

Who are your ultimate bias wreckers? lol, this is actually a good question ‘cuz i think i’ve been really good lately! ever since i’ve accepted jimin as an ult, life has been calmer. but tbh, johnny from nct 127 has been making me feel some typa way and i really thought my biases in nct were mark and ten ok. i’ll add in haechan as a wrecker ‘cuz that punk came outta nowhere too.

10. What do you wish for the most to happen? to have a steady income so i can support my family and be independent. mostly the independence part. i feel trapped sometimes.

When did you get into kpop and how? ok ok, sooooo, the first song i ever heard was nobody by the wonder girls when i was approximately 7-8 years old. i played that song like crazy, then i fell out of kpop until around middle school so 12-13. this was the hype and i sort of just went with it, so i ended up listening to a lot of big bang, snsd, 2ne1, shinee, super junior, and jay park. throughout high school, i was in and out of the kpop scene until october 2015 - that’s when this guy from my high school showed me bts and now i am here.

12. What made you decide to have a tumblr blog? well, it was the hype of 2010, so i made one just to see what it was like and well, here i am.

13. Favorite colour? baby blue and rose gold.

14. Favorite animal? um, i would say a wolf. or a fox. lol i’m not good with these unless dogs also count.

15. What are your interests? writing, reading, dancing, music, running, and overall exercising lol.

16. Would you prefer music or movies? jkdsfhsjhfjkd this is so hard!!! ‘cuz i love both of those things!!! but i’d go with music just because i listen to it all the time.

tbh i never even saw their faces before they took pics with bangtan, but i have heard their songs (like how can you not? those songs are HUGE and i don’t even follow american music tbh) and heard about them as people… eeh… yeah… i’d call them and their sexism problematic way more readily than what halsey is doing right now
