hello!! I hope your having a new day🤗
um- this is the first time I've asked someone something but may I have some of the mha characters with a s/o (they/them) that laughs when nervous? the situation doesn't matter, they'll just laugh as a natural defense
sorry, if this made you uncomfortable😖
-🐌
(is it okay if I use an emoji to identify myself from other anons?)
BNHA GUYS WITH THEIR S/O WHO LAUGHS WHEN THEY'RE NERVOUS
w/ Bakugou, Kirishima, Dabi
a/n: hiiyyaaa :D dw this didnt make me uncomfortable at all but i did have quite a difficult time thinking of scenarios 🥲 thank u for the request tho mwah <3 + this was also rlly fun to make lol
navigation
KATSUKI BAKUGOU
so you guys are about to have sex, right. and it's your first time and so you're nervous but you don't wanna tell Katsuki that cause you're scared he might think you're being a little bitch or sumn
(he would never think that, he'd try his best to comfort you and make sure you're as comfortable as possible. JUST TELL HIM HOW YOU FEEL, COWARD.)
but anyways your legs are wide open and you're butt naked on the bed, ready for Katsuki to take you
he whips out his dick and he's huge like you thought that shit was only found in bad plotted porn but to think that you were seeing one in person...
your hands are getting clammy and your heart is beating against your chest
katsuki notices you staring at his downstairs and smirks and is all like "like what you see?" then he places it on your tummy
"see that?" he points at the part right above your belly button, "it reaches up to here."
something so big is bound to make you nervous as fuck
so you start laughing
it's nothing intentional, you just have this habit of laughing when you're nervous and usually you do this at the worst time. right now is one of those "times"
in the end the both of you don't do it cause katsuki's upset and embarrassed cause you thought he wasn't good enough and you spend the whole day explaining to him and telling him how much you want to do it with him and how much you love him :")
EIJIRO KIRISHIMA
this happens during an important meeting
eijiro is presenting in front and you're next. you feel sick, your hand is shaking uncontrollably and your throat is parched
"i'll be passing you to L/n Y/n. Show us what you got."
your boss as well as your boyfriend, Eijiro, helped you with this so you're both sure you don't have anything wrong in your presentation but you still can't help it.
you're standing in front of fifteen people and the introvert in you isn't enjoying this at all
"So today, I'd like to talk about the sudden rise of villain attacks. The percentage rose from ten percent to a whopping twenty-six–" you start laughing.
you're nervous about the presentation, plus what you just said just sunk into your head and now you're worried + nervous about the attacks.
you're laughing like an asshole and your workmates aren't having any of it
"Do you think this is a laughing matter, Miss L/n?" a girl who you know as Akkun asks, her glare sharp
of course you don't! but you can't help laughing when you're nervous! it's a bad habit and dear god you just wish you don't get into some very very bad trouble bc of your laughing
DABI
you're tied down to a chair with the members of LOV surrounding you
they're asking you to spill about Eijiro's plans but you don't wanna
when Dabi steps forward and ignites a blue flame around his hand, you feel your stomach drop and your sweat run cold
and then you start laughing
everyone just looks at each other silently asking what the fuck is wrong with this bitch?
when Dabi and Tomura threatens to give you back to your boyfriend with a missing arm and leg, you laugh even harder. translation: you're on the verge of shitting yourself.
at the end of the day, when Eijiro comes to save you with his sidekicks in tow, the LOV are warping you back to them rather conveniently
reason? Dabi pokes his face out of the warp gate, scaring the heroes. "We deal with crazy. But that bitch?" He points at you, "Bat. Shit."

Hi there. Another Muslimah here.
Hope you don't mind me sending you an ask. I read your fic about the BNHA boys with a muslim s/o. It was really good. I loved it so much. (There aren't many fics like this, which is a shame cause we like fanfics too. So this was very refreshing. Thank you.💚😉)
Could you do one for the Haikyuu boys, specifically Tsukishima, Kuroo, Sugawara, and Bokuto. But only if you want to, of course.
Hope you have a great and productive day.
Tsukishima Kei, Kuroo Tetsurou, Sugawara Koushi, and Bokuto Koutarou x Hijabi!reader
In which reader is a hijabi Muslim.
Warnings: None
Genre: Fluff
Notes: You're welcome to send asks anytime <3 I may be slow at getting through them but I will make sure to get them out! Thank you for being so sweet anon <3 I hope you enjoy this one! ^^ I’m sorry if it seems bland as I was slowly losing ideas.
Tsukishima Kei
His eyes would constantly drift to you during class hours, lips twitching into a smile as he would watch you struggle with the assignment sheet given during history class.
Would take that as a leeway to make conversation and help you out.
"Tsk, can't even do a simple history assignment?"
Just sits down next to you and points out what you did wrong while helping you out.
Flinches his hand away and mutters a sorry if your hands accidentally graze each others.
He knows how strict the dating rules were and he admired it, thinking it was a safe way to keep them away from harm and heartbreak.
Becomes your unofficial tutor just to spend more time with you.
Has the urge to flick your forehead most times when you purposely tease him.
Is worried when he sees you zoning out in the middle of class during Ramadan, you have to convince him you're fine and that you're getting your studying done despite the odd sleep schedule you've created.
He'll give you a small box of his favourite treat, strawberry short cake, randomly throughout Ramadan because he knows you crave more sweets during the days you fast than regular days.
He calls you a masochist when he finds you watching cooking/baking videos while fasting.
Will stop by your house to drop off pastries during Eid for you and your family because he wants to peak at you all dressed up as he's only seen you in your school uniform or in casual but modest fashion.
He feels a sense of security, enjoying the aspect of getting to know someone with no sense of rush.
Kuroo Tetsurou
He's such an awkward nerd please.
Wants to approach you but fears he might accidentally offend you due to his provocative nature, hence resorts to staring at you from across the room.
Would research more about your religion and would use that as a way to start small talk;
“Hey, uh, I was wondering how do you manage to pray Zuhr when you’re in school? Isn’t it bad that you have to miss it?”
“Oh uh, I usually run home as soon as I can or pray in my club room if there are meetings, my club members are very understanding.”
“Oh... I see.”
“That’s pretty cool of you to be concerned, Kuroo-san.”
Cue him asking you random but wholesome questions with genuine curiosity.
“Did you know men who oppress women are considered to not follow Islam? I find that really nice that women are equal to men in your religion!”
You smile at him and his interest in your religion.
Study sessions in the library because you both wanted to spend time with each other but he knows it is wrong for a male to be alone in the same room as the opposite gender so you both opted for the library where there are lots of people.
Gasps and immediately looks away when you unravel the scarf around your head to fix;
“Y/n! You can’t do that!!”
“I’m wearing an underscarf calm down.”
You rolled your eyes at the dramatic male but smiled at his respectful nature.
Ramadan? Catch him ruining his sleep schedule just to have movie nights with you through the phone and Netflix Party.
Kenma teases him about it because Kuroo used to yell at him about his own staying up late gaming obsession.
Likes it when you wear a cap on top of your hijab, he thinks it looks cool on you.
He’ll convince you to skip school during Eid if it falls on a school day, telling you that it’s important that you spend at least the first day of it with your family.
Overall, he’s the type to keep up with the Islamic calendar and learn new facts daily as he asks you to explain each and everything about your religion and lifestyle.
Sugawara Koushi
See’s you for the first time with Kiyoko when he went to excuse her from class for managerial duties.
Smitten from first sight.
Begs Kiyoko to let you be her assistant manager.
He keeps a distance from you during your first introduction and conversation because he didn’t know what you were comfortable with.
He was in awe to find out there were sports hijab when he saw you sporting one to play a short game with an over-enthusiastic Hinata.
“Here, stay hydrated.”
Hands you a bottle of water along with a towel, a newfound respect for playing in hot weather conditions fully covered.
Due to the chaotic nature of the first and second years, Sugawara would run to cover your eyes with his jacket or hover his hands in front of your face whenever Tanaka would rip off his shirt to swing around whenever he spiked.
Sugawara had to stop himself multiple times from clapping his hand onto your shoulder, resulting in him just smacking either Asahi or Daichi when they mention him almost touching you.
Outings between you two is always monitored by the third years, Asahi smiling proudly at his friend Suga while Daichi and Kiyoko would sneakily take candid pictures of you both.
“What’s one verse you hold dear to your heart?”
You look at him from the warm mug of drink you are holding, tilting your head as you look at him in confusion. Sugawara felt the tips of his ears go red at the cute expression you held, and explains his question.
“Ah,” you thought long and hard before giving him an answer, “ ‘Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear...’ I find that part of the verse very reassuring in times when I feel like I’m overwhelmed.”
Sugawara held onto every word, finding the beauty behind those words, he felt at peace. “I’ll keep that in mind.” He smiles.
It felt like he was more excited than you for Ramadan.
He would read out loud the Japanese translation of the Quran after you read out the Arabic words in a beautiful and soothing voice. He wanted to understand and learn.
He was hooked onto the peaceful energy the month brought despite life going on normally.
This man would wear a formal Kimono when your family invites his over for Eid, he wanted to make the best impression despite already meeting them in passing.
Suga had a sense of security and comfort around him and you felt lucky to have met someone such as him.
Bokuto Koutarou
Oh God.
Akaashi had a field day trying to stop him from initiating any and every kind of physical affection when he first introduced you to him.
Bokuto is a man who expresses himself with affection, so he was lucky for Akaashi to explain to him why he shouldn’t initiate any physical affection without asking for what you considered crossing a boundary.
He knows he can’t drag you to the gym to watch him play volleyball by hand, so he asks you to hold onto the end of a pen, which you took, confused as to what the male exactly wants before realizing he was holding the other end and using that to drag you to where the gym was.
It was oddly endearing.
“Did you see my spike, Y/n?! Didya see?!”
“Yes, Bokuto. It was really cool!”
Cue a chest puffed up Bokuto who grinned with pride.
Invites you to eat lunch with him and Akaashi on the roof.
Having to refuse his food because you weren’t sure if there was pork in it or not.
This made Bokuto stop bringing in food that contained pork, not knowing even aside from that, he had to have the halal form of chicken or beef.
Akaashi had to explain everything to him when he asked him once.
Tried to go vegetarian one day, failed the minute he took a bite out of his food.
Feels bad when he eats on days you are fasting, so he tries finishing the meal before you come up to their usual meeting spot, resulting in him giving himself a stomach ache.
Brings you tuna filled onigiri to take home so you can eat it as a snack during the night after breaking your fast.
Sends you spam messages minutes before having to break your fast;
‘Are you excited to eat?!?!?!’
‘What are you having today?!?’
‘If you want to get any snacks later let me know! :D’
‘ONE MINUTE LEFT!!’
He’s so wholesome please.
Wants to skip school with you for Eid, but pouts when you tell him you’ll be spending it with family.
Asks you to send an OOTD pic so he could be your hype-man.
Bokuto is always willing to understand more about you and your religion, making sure to note things in his head for future references.

Shoto x reader | one shot

Warnings: cussing
Synposis: When Shoto realizes you’ve been particularly lonely without him during the holiday season, he decided to get you an extra special gift

“Shoto-do you really have to go?”
You asked, a pout on your lips as you gazed at your boyfriend.
You were still cuddled up in your shared bed, the heat from Shoto’s skin already dissipating out of the sheets.
You pursed your lips, sitting up crossed leg as You watched him slide each button of his shirt sleeve into their slots, his washed, bi colored hair slightly wet from his shower.
“You know it’s not fair to look that good and then just leave,” you gave him a fake, stern look, earning a small smirk from the man.
He continued working up the shirt, looking sleek yet-well-delicious.
Shoto was just too handsomr for his own good-sharp jawline, perfect skin, piercing bi colored eyes, not to mention his amazing body….sometimes you had to wonder how you were able to get such a flawless man to end up with you.
He finished with his other sleeve, peeking a look at you as he slicked his hair back with his right hand, the strands mixing and framing his face perfectly,
why’d he have to look that good?
“It’s not as if I want to leave, dear-but I do have work,”
You cuddled deeper into the sweatshirt you were wearing, your hands dissappearing in the sleeves.
“But you’re always working-you cant take one day off?”
Shoto chuckled at your obvious neediness, making his way over to where you were sitting. He leaned across the bed to be in front of your sulking form, brushing a piece of your bed head from your face as he laid a gentle kiss on your lips.
“Evil doesn’t take a day off love,”
“Why do you always have to be so-so stoic all the time,” You giggled, playfully placing your hand on his chest and pushing him back.
Even though you and Shoto had been living together for over a year now, it never ceased to amaze you how much the man worked. After working at an agency after UA, Shoto had been incredibly busy-and being the #3 hero, you could see why. If it wasn’t a late night call, he was patrolling, interviewing sidekicks, training, teaching students on their hero studies, interviewing with magazines….he always had something to do.
You couldn’t get mad at him though-he had warned you in the beginning, but you were also accustomed to the hero life as well- well, somewhat.
You had gone to UA to be part of the hero suit course, and had become suit designer for the top heroes (hence how you met Shoto). You witnessed day in and day out how difficult it truly was to be a hero, even if you weren’t one yourself, so you didn’t mind when Todoroki was gone all the time. Yes, it got lonely at times, especially during the holiday season, but you made sure to keep a smile on for him.
“Don’t forget, I did take Christmas off,” Shoto gave you a small grin, his bicolored eyed searching to please you.
You smiled back, your heart thumping out of your chest as you poked him gently in the chest.
“After I asked you too,” you corrected, a teasing tone in your voice.
-And thank god too, I would have so lonely by myself,” you tried to chuckle at your remark, making the situation light.
Shoto knew you too well though-something about your voice didnt sound as happy and light as before. When you joked with him, your laughs were more cheerful and your smile was brighter-but something about you right now felt strange...as if you were holding something back from him.
Shoto’s grin turned into concern, his digits cupping your cheeks gently and guiding your eyes to look at his.
“Have you been feeling lonely lately?” He asked bluntly, your eyes growing wide.
Man-you couldn't hide anything from him.
You chuckled nervously, looking to the side, guilt beginning to fill your chest.
“I-I, no, it’s fine, really, I was only kidding,” you chuckled, your voice taking on a higher pitch.
“You don’t seem to be kidding,” Shoto bite the side of his lip, trying his best to make eye contact with you, “if you want to tell me something, you don’t have to be afraid.”
“Be afraid of the number three hero-“ You rolled your eyes playfully, a soft smirk on your lips, “-never.”
Shoto gave a small grin, worry still in his eyes. He knew something was strange about you lately, the way you seemed to be always craving for him. He hated to admit it, it boosted his ego somewhat to have you were so desperate for his touch- but he knew it wasnt healthy for you to be always missing him.
With him being a pro hero, he had quite alot more duties than most could imagine- which sadly left little for him to indulge in his own personal life. Shoto felt deeply lucky to have someone like you who understood his busy schedule, never batting an eye when he had to cancel yet another date or leave you by yourself on countless nights...but it still left a gnawing sensation of guilt sitting in his stomach.
“Im fine Shoto,” your voice broke into his thoughts, your tone gentle and sweet like a sun kissed cloud, “really.”
Shoto sighed, his thick lashes fanning his cheek. You were stubborn at times, especially when you wanted to reassure him-which only affirmed that you really werent feeling all that great as you said you were. But Shoto didnt want to push it any further- maybe you were really okay, and he was overthinking it….and he was going to be late if he didnt leave soon-
“Go kick some ass for me, kay?”
you gave him a wide smile, placing another quick kiss on his lips.
Shoto blinked a few times, a rush of adrenaline filling his body as he felt your skin against his. His lips tingled from the agonizingly quick touch-he took it upon him to give you a deeply intense kiss, the rush making you breathless.
Shoto pulled away, his eyes having the rarest glint of mischief as he stared back into yours
“Of course love,”
。・:*:・゚★ 。・:*:・゚★
“Ya ready Shoto?” You grinned, your body snuggled into your comfiest pair of pajamas and your fingers warmed by a hot cup of cocoa.
Christmas Day has finally came, and thankfully, Shoto kept his promise-he would be staying the whole day with you with no interruptions.
You were just so excited to finally have one day to selfishly love your boyfriend, and on a holiday too!
The room almost felt surreal-it was early morning, the Christmas tree you two decorated light up like a Star, class Christmas music playing in the background, homemade cookies littering the apartment in a sweet aroma and the room in a romantic warm haze of lights.
It just felt so unbelievable perfect and comfortable, Shoto looking sheepishly excited and nervous.
“I think you should go first,” you smiled up at him as he sat down next to you, black coffee snuggled into his hand (in a DynaMIGHT mug, of course gifted to him by the hero himself).
Shoto bit his lip, seemingly trying to hide a smile as he set his mug down on the coffee table.
“Not to be rude love,” he grinned, his hands gently grabbing a large box from under the tree. The paper was a shiny golden hue, snowflakes on the paper reflecting like glitter from the lights on the tree. He slide the box against the wooden floor, being strangely gentle with the contents.
“But my gift cant wait.”
Your eyebrows were knitted together, a confused grin on your lips.
The box was pretty big-what did he get you now?
Shoto never seemed to give you endlessly expensive gifts, having no concept of what was considered fancy or exorbitant- trips to places you could only dream of, hefty amounts of clothes and jewelry, merchandise from your favorite shows...hell you had to talk him out of buying you a car one time-this guy would drop anything to get you whatever you wanted.
And that made you guilty as hell whenever he did-so what did he give you this time around?
Your mind was racing as you looked at the box, trying to read whatever he was thinking about on his face.
“I swear to god Shoto if you bought me that expensive gaming system-“
He chuckled at your obviously guilty face, shaking his head as he smiled.
“No, no it’s nothing like that-“ he said, giving you a mischievous grin, “I think you’ll like it much better than that.”
You blinked a few times, your mind going completely blank.
What could be better than a PS5, Xbox, or Switch?
You looked down at the box, feeling strangely nervous as you obeyed Shoto’s wishes, slowly opening the top lid….until it rustles.
The box.
Moved on its own.
You squeaked out in surprise, your hands slamming the barely opened lid back down and looking at Shoto for help.
He had never seen you look so adorably confused in his life, a rosy hue on his cheeks as he looked at you with a loving expression.
“It’s okay,” he whispered reassuringly as he wrapped his hands nervously around yours.
You felt him guide your hands up, you both now lifting the lid off the large box.
Shoto took it and placed it gently on the ground, sitting back to watch you look into the box.
The box rustled again, your mind so utterly confused….what could make a box do that?
“Shoto I-“ you tried to ask, but all he did was nod to the box, signaling for you to just look.
You did as you were told, getting on your knees to peer inside…
A gasp left your lips, your heart beating out of your chest as you looked inside at the sweet little baby kitten playing with their bowl of yarn in the box.
“Hi baby,” you cooed in awe at the little baby, your hands scooping them out and snuggling them to your chest.
They were so soft and warm, their fur as white as a snowball with rosy pink paws.
“Oh my god-Shoto-you really didn’t- are they really-?” You were in such a state of shock, you couldn’t seem to form any coherent words as you looked at your sheepish boyfriend.
“I-I didn’t know exactly what to get you...but after seeing how much you missed me throughout the day, I thought it was fitting to get you a companion for when I’m gone,” he smiled, his digits nervously fidgeting in his lap as he waited for your approval.
You petted the little creature on your chest, it’s big doe eyes staring at you with such confusion you couldn’t help but giggle.
“Shoto…it’s perfect,” you smiled at your boyfriend, leaning in to plant him a kiss on his lips.
You giggled at his expression, clearly not expecting your show of affection as his cheeks turned a fiery red.
“I-I’m glad to here that,”

Once Upon A Dream *4*
Bakugou X F.Reader
Sleeping Beauty x Fantasy BNHA AU
Words: 2,000+
Notes: you should know that this was supposed to be a one-shot.... oh well here’s the final bit :) enjoy
.
.
The Beautiful Queen took a seat at her throne, giddy for her dauhger to join the party. Everyone else in the grand hall was still starting to wake up, groggy from their unscheduled nap. Except for the guests from the Dragon tribe who were already deep into the feast, lounging as they drank from wine goblets and ate turkey legs.
“Mina!” Eijirou called out as he ran towards his mate, her black and gold eyes widened as she spotted him and gleefully jumped into his waiting arms.
“Eijirou! I thought you were with Katsuki meeting his mate.” Mina asked as she nuzzled into the red dragon shifter’s chest.
The boy gave her a bright smile and told her to ‘just wait’ which made her pout.
The rest of his friends jumped in, demanding information and the three queens only giggled at the young folks’ antics.
“Wh.. When did you get back, darling?” The King Nadir stretched as he woke up, looking over at his Queen.
“Just now, dear, now straighten yourself out, it’s a big day.” The Queen got out her handkerchief and wiped away some drool at the corner of his mouth.
“Oh, yes. Where is our daughter? Is she back? Where are those fairies?” The King straightened up and looked around the large ballroom.
The trumpets blew, and the King jumped up in his seat, the anticipation killing him, the women all giggled as King Nadir reminded them of a child on his birthday.
“Come along, we’ll watch from here.” Momo guided her comrades to a stone balcony overlooking the ballroom. This was the moment they had all been waiting for, for 18 years. It was bittersweet, they would no longer be with (y/n) in the cottage in the woods, but at least she was happy and safe, her Prince by her side.
“Wait... isn’t that... Queen Mitsuki? When did they get here.” The King asked as he suddenly noticed a few other Dragon folk.
“We have a bit of catching up on dear.” His Queen comforted, giving his hand a tight squeeze.
Everyone watched the large staircase as the Dragon Prince walked with the Princess, her hand wrapped around his bicep, a shy smile on her face. The Princess’s cheeks were rosy red as Katsuki wore a cocky grin, whispering something in her ear, which only made her hide her face with her free hand, a large ruby and gold ring resting on her ring finger. Katsuki only laughed before kissing her cheek as they continued down the broad staircase.
“Is that?” Sero asked as she immediately recognized the Dragon Prince.
“Yep,” Eijirou confirmed
“With the princess?” Denki’s mouth dropped open.
“Yep.”
“Look how cute they look!” Mina practically squealed as she jumped up and down in excitement. She had to resist from morphing into her dragon form and roaring in delight.
When the handsome coupled reached the bottom of the stairs, (y/n) leaned up and whispered something in Katsuki’s ear, and it was his turn to go red as the Princess giggled and left his side to greet her parents.
The Queen wrapped her arms around her daughter and then led her to the King, happy tears in his eyes.
“Father.” The Princess slightly bowed her head and reached down to lightly graze his feet, uncertain what to do, and the King only laughed and embraced his daughter for the first time.
“Welcome home.” The King whispered, a gentle smile on his lips as he patted her dark locks.
The three faires watched the reunion from above, Izuku was in danger of flooding the balcony with all the tears leaving his eyes and Momo was quick to hand him several handkerchiefs.
Katsuki walked to the King and Queen and (y/n) returned to his side. The Dragon Prince bowed respectfully to the majesties.
“... Is this?” King Nadir asked his wife, who smiled up at him, reading his mind.
“Yes, dear.”
“Well then, Son, thank you.” The King wrapped his arms around the young Prince, clapping his back, and Katsuki coughed tried to hide his pain, (y/n) ’s old man was stronger than he looked.
“.... Do they not have shirts where you are from?” The King jested as he pointed out the very exposed Dragon Prince’s chest, who rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, not sure if he was making a good impression on his true love’s parents.
“Son? Nadir, you can’t be serious.” An angry man that (Y/n) had never seen stepped forward and basically towered over, his teal eyes glaring at her and her Prince.
“THis is outrageous!!! You think I’m going to stand by and let this savage-”
Katsuki let out a yell of defiance was ready to teach the rude red-haired man a lesson, but someone beat him too.
(y/n) in a small rage curled up her fist and sucker-punched the tall man square in the jaw, her large engagement ring leaving a lovely red mark on the right cheek.
“That’s my future husband, you are talking about.” (y/n) huffed, ready to take down the intimidating man a notch if needed.
“That’s my girl.” Katsuki smirked as he took the hand she had used to sucker punch into his hand to check on it, kissing her knuckles tenderly as she smiled at him. Her hand and the ring was fine, Enji’s face on the other hand... well maybe it was an improvement.
“Sorry, King Enji, true love conquers all, even betrothals.” Queen Sabina smirked at him, and Enji sneered before stomping off.
“Oh that’s right.” (y/n) gasped and looked around for the Prince she was promised too, catching sight of a two-toned prince standing with his snow-haired mother.
She lifted her royal blue skirt and rushed over.
“Prince Shouto, I presume.” (y/n) asked as she stood in front of the Prince.
“Yes, Princess. I’m glad that you are well. I apologize I didn’t introduce myself upstairs, there was.... a lot going on.” He said, giving her a polite smile.
“Thank you. I thought I should say... I’m sorry that I must break the betrothal. But I hope we can move together in friendship.” Princess (y/n) hoped that the Prince was nothing like his father.
“I would like that.” His smile grew and lightly took her hand in his, the future of the neighbouring kingdoms would seem to be at peace.
“Beat it Half N’ Half.” Katsuki barked at Shouto as he grabbed (y/n) ’s hand and dragged her away. The beauty smiled apologetically at the red and white-haired Prince, who just blinked owlishly as he watched.
She didn’t make it far till she felt her body ripped from Katsuki’s grip, and the Princess was looking into black eyes with gold iris’s.
“Oh my god! You’re her!? You’re the one that had Katuski tearing apart the treasury! You’re gorgeous! And wow, nice right hook! Hey, how did you two meet? What do you like about him? Wha-” The excited girl with pink scales was ripped away.
“Fuck off raccoon eyes.”
“Boo! Your no fun Katsuki!” Mina pouted as she crossed her arms, slightly fuming that her girl-talk was interrupted.
“Don’t mind him, babe, he just doesn’t want to chance anyone taking his girl.” Eijirou stepped up and threw his arm over his mate’s shoulder, trying to keep his two favourite people from causing a scene.
“Princess (y/n), this is my mate, Mina. Mina, this is Princess (y/n).” Eijirou introduced the two, (y/n) curtsied to the pink dragon shifter, but Mina just rushed forward and bear-hugged the Princess.
“We should go flying soon, I’ll show you all the spots. We’ll have a girls day and visit the hot springs and -” Mina rambled until Katsuki had enough and threw his sunshine over his shoulder and ran away to the other side of the ballroom before anyone else could take her away from him.
The orchestra started up and (y/n) patted Katsuki’s back as she still being hauled like a sack of flour.
“Dance with me?” She requested.
“Only for you.” Katsuki placed her down on the floor, and her delicate hand slid into his large, rough as he placed his other hand on the small of her back, his fingers softly feeling the exposed skin in the space between her cropped blouse and skirt.
The two danced across the marble dancefloor, the crowd watched in awe how in sync and graceful the couple danced as if they have done this times and times before.
As they danced, Katsuki leaned close to (y/n) ’s ear and sung softly, and she joined, only loud enough for the two to hear. For it was their song.
I know you and walked with once upon a dream
“Why, Izuku, what’s the matter?” Momo asked as she caught the green fairy trying to hide his sniffles.
“I just love happy endings.” He wailed, and Uraraka just giggled at her emotional friend.
“Oh, don’t they look lovely.” Uraraka gushed as she swayed with the music.
“Yes very- blue?!” Momo gasped as she couldn’t believe she had let the Princess walk in anything but pink. It was merely the superior colour in the red fairy’s eyes.
“Make it pink.” Momo waved her wand and (y/n) clothes changed from the royal blue to bright pink.
“eh! What?! Make it blue.” Uraraka jumped in shock before retaliating and changing it back.
The two tried to out spell the other while Izuku just enjoyed the dance, knowing that he wouldn’t be able to stop the two.
Momo missed her target, and Katsuki’s cloak turned bright pink.
“Pfft.” (y/n) tried to hold back a giggle, but Katsuki just growled, even (y/n) ’s parents laughed lightly at the sight.
“Ya damn fairies!!” He snarled as practically bared his teeth at the three on the balcony.
“Whoops sorry!!” And the fairies all hid from view while Katsuki ripped his now pink cloak off his back.
“Here, I’ll take it from you, buddy.” Eiji said as he jumped in, and Katsuki threw it at him.
“I thought that colour looked quite nice on you.” The Princess couldn’t help but tease as she laid her hand on his shoulder, fully able to admire his jewellery and muscles now that his cloak was gone.
“Get over here, I’m not done with you.” Katsuki smirked and took her around the dancefloor in a waltz once more.
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, that gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it’s true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you’ll do
You’ll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream

“and they lived happily ever after.” The beloved and trusted Uncle finished
“What happened to them?” The children protested to the end of the story, what happened next?
“They lived happily ever after. What more do you need?”
The door creaked open, and everyone froze, all three wore guilty looks on their faces.
“You were supposed to be asleep hours ago.” A woman with long dark hair top with a gold crown, her massive red and gold skirt gliding across the ground.
“aww Mama, Uncle Eiji was just telling us a story.” The young girl pouted, her large ruby eyes working their magic.
“was he? What was it about?” She asked as she sat down on the soft bed.
“A beautiful princess, and dragons and curses!” Her four-year-old son, with his father’s ash blonde hair, crawled his mother’s waiting arms. She had been in exhausting diplomatic meetings all day long, and she was in desperate need for a little cuddle time.
“My, now, where would he get such a story?” The woman teased as she rocked her young son in her arms, and the red-haired man gave a guilty smile.
“C’mon, time for bed.” She tucked in her children and placed a kiss to their heads, promising them that they would go for a picnic the following day.
“Sorry My Queen, they asked for a story, and I couldn’t resist those big eyes.” Her long-time friend apologized, but he was smiling as he did so, hos sharp teeth on full display.
“Nothing to apologize for, thank you for looking out for them. How are the hatchlings?” She asked as he walked her to her chambers.
“They are starting to use their wings, it’s a bit hazardous but really exciting.” His broad proud grin was infectious.
“If you and Mina are free tomorrow, then perhaps we can all go for a picnic in the meadow by the cottage where I grew up. Maybe without scaring the deer this time.” Queen (y/n) proposed, and Eijirou nodded.
“Mina would love that. Though I can’t promise the little ones won’t try and catch a squirrel or two.” Eijirou mentioned and (y/n) giggled, Eijrou’s kids were just curious, she knew she didn’t have to truly worry about the safety of her animal friends.
“Goodnight, my friend.”
“Goodnight, your majesty.” He gave her a small salute before running off, eager to make it home to his own family.
The woman walked into her bedroom, the guard opening the large ornate door for her.
She hummed a song as she removed her crown, heavy earrings and bangles, only leaving on her wedding ring, a gold ring with a large ruby guarded by a gold dragon.
As she brushed out her hair, she let her heart’s song slip from her lips.
(y/n) wondered how Eijirou told the ‘infamous’ tale of Sleeping Beauty. He probably dramatized it a bit, but she was certain it was better than the way her husband told it.
“This Bird-beaked bastard was in my way to you. So I demolished him. Easy.”
She slipped her choli over her head and arms wrapped around her from behind, and warm lips kissed her bare shoulder.
“I can never get enough of you, why is that Sunshine?” A husky voice spoke into her ear before laying another a kiss on her neck.
“BEcause you are insatiable- eep.” She squealed as the man pinched her bottom.
“How are the brats?” Katsuki asked a gentle tone despite the gruff term of ‘endearemnt’ for his kids.
“Looking more and more like you every day, it’s not fair.” (y/n) pouted as she turned around in his grip and threw her arms over his shoulders.
“I’ve got strong genes. Maybe the third one will look like you.” Katsuki loved that his kids looked like little tan versions of him, and they had her smile, the world needed more of that precious sunshine she created.
“Insatiable.” (y/n) teased as she removed his cape and let it fall to the floor, her bare chest touching his. Katsuki’s fingers fidget with the tied knot holding up her skirt before pulling on it slightly, letting the heavy red and gold skirt slip away to the floor, leaving his Queen bare and vulnerable before him.
“Or the fourth... Or the fifth.”
“You just want your own little army of Dragon Princes and Princesses.” She teased as his hands traced up and down her bare back before resting on her hips, playfully giving her soft skin a squeeze...
“You gotta problem that?” A devilish smirk crossed his lips, but his ruby eyes held nothing but adoration for his Queen.
“Not at all.” She easily gave in and leaned into his strong form, resting her head against his chest, listening to the beat of his heart.
He subconsciously patted her hair and started humming a familiar tune, swaying from side to side in an intimate dance, pressing a kiss to the top of her head as his true love close.
(y/n) kissed the skin around his heart and then leaned up to meet his lips in a tender kiss, a tenderness that only she brought out of the Dragon King.
But if I know you, I know what you’ll do
You’ll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream

children are meant to be cradled, not placed in wars

chapter two
YN was dreaming.
She knew this because she was in an alleyway, and felt much shorter than she actually was. It was a weird feeling that reminded her of an out of body experience, or waking up at three A.M. and only vaguely remembering it in the morning.
Either way, she was facing a beaten and bruised man. He held his side, but despite his efforts, it was obvious he was bleeding out. He had a strange scar that stretched from the left side of his scalp and down to his throat, like someone had dragged a knife down the skin. It was ugly, but that was the only thing that seemed to make him stand out.
“Nine would stop you, Demise. You don’t stand a chance.”
Not-YN held up a hand, a light sparking from them before a small ball of light grew in her palm.
“Where is she?” Not-YN’s voice was ragged, like a chainsmoker’s, and threatening. “You know goddamn well that we all saw her come home.”
“This isn’t her home, you know. Not to her.”
“This is her home. It always was.”
“She’s hiding. Hiding from you, from Nine, from Shigaraki, from All For One. Smart kid...she’ll always hide.”
“Shut up. You are in no position to talk shit.”
“I’m not, unless you consider the truth shit.”
Not-YN was silent, before shoving her hand out. The light disappeared and lit up inside the man’s stomach. He looked down with a mix of horror and resignation before his stomach imploded, blood and bile scattering across the walls and concrete. Not-YN took her hand back before spinning around and leaving the alleyway. Two men were behind her, but they had masks that looked like a geometric fox and a snake. They were stiff and had their hands behind their backs.
“Very good, ma’am.” The fox said.
“A merciful death,” The snake murmured.
“You are kind, ma’am.” Both said simultaneously as Not-YN entered the daylight.
“As fitting for the new god.”
YN sat straight up in her bed, panting with a feeling of bile in her throat. Her palms supported her, but her arms were shaky and her lungs burned.
“Good morning.”
YN popped her neck from turning it with such force. The woman from before, Recovery Girl, sat at a desk nearby, and she realised that she was in a medic’s office.
“Good morning,” YN felt confused, wondering when she came here, and if she even was supposed to be here. “Where am I?”
“My office. I decided you needed to be around me more than my average patients, considering your means of arrival. To keep an eye on you.” She gave a benign smile.
YN went silent, glancing around at her surroundings.
The room was pristine, and there was a window to her left. A potted succulent bathed in the sunlight and YN squeezed her eyes from disbelief at her situation.
There was a subdued knock at the door. Recovery Girl rose to get it, but it opened when she was a foot away.
“Midoriya’s broken his finger!” There was a girl’s voice, and YN’s entire face turned into half confusion, half excitement. She remembered the name from the boy that had saved her, and she peered beyond the curtain at her bed.
A girl with extraordinarily round brown hair that curled around to her chin supported the green-haired boy, and though his finger looked more burned than broken, she didn’t seem very phased. Recovery Girl looked disappointed.
“Midoriya! You need to take better care of yourself!” She scolded.
“Sorry, ma’am…” Midoriya sounded actually regretful.
“Miss Ochako, could you please tell Aizawa that he’ll be here for the rest of the period?” Recovery Girl sighed. Ochako saluted, nodding.
“Of course!”
“Thank you, dear.”
The girl left, and Recovery Girl began fussing over Midoriya. It seemed like Recovery Girl had forgotten that YN was in the room, and she started wrapping his finger. It was mutilated, and dark brown and veiny red lines coursed across the wound.
“You have to stop ruining your limbs! Next time I see Toshinori, I’m giving him a piece of my mind!”
“Yes, ma’am.”
YN fell back against the bed, wincing when it made a creaking noise. She felt like she wasn’t supposed to be in there, that she was an outsider. That she couldn’t be caught.
“Huh?” Midoriya made a sound of confusion. Recovery Girl chuckled.
“Was someone eavesdropping?”
YN bit back a snarky remark about how it was hard not to eavesdrop, to the point that it wasn’t even eavesdropping, but she gave a hum. It came out more like a growl and even sounded pissed off, and she sighed.
“...No.”
Recovery Girl walked over and ripped back the curtain, making both YN and Midoriya jump. He, again, made a pose of surprise.
“It’s you!” He cried, a blush making its way across his face.
“Yes.” YN felt like a dumbass, but she didn’t know what she was supposed to say. She kind of wished that choices could have come up like in one of Soma’s video games.
A tense and uncomfortable silence fell across the room, and Recovery Girl glanced between the two. They were averting each other’s eyes like the plague, and the pro hero made a ‘oh’ sound.
“Midoriya, this is the girl that you-”
“Yes!” He shouted, and YN winced from how awkward it was. He was cute, yes, but he didn’t seem like he was much in the ‘meeting new people’ department.
Recovery Girl gave a smug smile, with her entire face scrunching up and a giddy glint in her eye.
“You know, I think that I had a bandage delivery coming this afternoon. I have to pick it up. You keep her company, Midoriya!”
Before either of the teenagers could say anything, she left with speed that an elderly woman shouldn’t be capable of, laughing the entire time. Even when the door was shut, YN could hear the faintest hint of chuckling.
“I thought…” Midoriya began, confused. “That any deliveries come here?”
There was a tense and awkward silence, and YN bit her lip. She looked out the window, trying everything in her power not to come off as creepy, angry, and mean, while not being creepy.
Meanwhile, Midoriya had done the same thing but was eyeing the door. He would glance at the strange girl every couple of seconds, the intensity and frequency of his glances increasing as time went by. He hated the idea of giving the girl the wrong impression of himself for any number of reasons, but the biggest one was right in his face.
Jesus Christ. She was pretty.
He didn’t really notice it before since they were in a potential battleground, but now that it was just them in the white medic’s office, he saw it.
She had her face turned to the window, and her hair was accented by the gentle, falling sunlight from the window. There was a mirror adjacent to her, and he could see her face in the reflection. Her eyes, with the light hitting them just right, seemed to be in layers, and the thin white curtains blowing in said open window gave the entire thing a ‘Hollywood American blockbuster romance movie’ kind of feel.
Midoriya felt a bad taste in his mouth from the silence and cleared his throat.
“Uh…” The girl jumped, and he looked at the ground. “What’s your quirk?”
A safe icebreaker! Good job!, he thought.
The girl turned, and her mouth opened.
“What’s…” She paused, and Midoriya turned to look at her in the eye. Her voice was gravelly, but badass, in the way that tsundere gangster anime characters sounded.
Her brows had furrowed.
“What’s a quirk?”
Midoriya just about felt his soul leave his body, and the entire corpse go cold.
“You...don’t have a quirk?”
Abort! Abort! Mission failed!
“I dunno.” She looked away, sheepishly rubbing the back of her head. “I don’t know what a quirk is.”
Sheltered! Cute but sheltered!
“Uh, a quirk, is, uh…” Midoriya grasped for straws trying to find a way to convey what a quirk was to her without making her feel bad.
“Is it like a superpower?”
Midoriya looked up, completely surprised.
“Yes! That’s exactly it! How did you figure it out?”
“Well, it seemed like a lot of the folks that were at the, uh, crash site, they had different qualities about them. It reminded me of Marvel and DC.” She smiled, vaguely. “I just kind of put it together.”
“Ah! You’re smart! Yeah, that’s right. Do you have one?”
The girl frowned. “No. Should I?”
“Well, I mean…” Midoriya paused. He didn’t want her to feel bad, but she was one of the few that didn’t have quirks. “Kind of? I mean…”
“Most have them?”
“Yeah. There are people that are quirkless, like, I used to be! But then I got my quirk.” He smiled, thinking to when All Might told him that he was going to inherit One For All.
“Yeah?” She gave another smile, this one much softer, and Midoriya felt his cheeks heat up. “How did you get it?”
Midoriya felt his heart stop.
“I, uh, well, I, um, can’t really, uh…” God! He felt like he could tell the girl, but he had just met her, and All Might’s identity couldn’t be revealed. The conversation was going great, and then she had to ask the one thing he couldn’t answer.
“Oh.” The girl looked like she had stepped on a landmine. “Sorry if it’s personal! You don’t have to tell me. It’s okay.”
Midoriya hid his face in his free hand. “Thanks.”
“Yup.”
The conversation dropped off, and Midoriya sighed. He glanced at the door, hoping that Recovery Girl would drop in, but then he heard the girl.
“Thanks.”
Midoriya jumped. “What for?”
“Saving me.”
Duh? What else would it be?
“That was...incredible. And I would’ve died. So thank you.” She turned, with a smile, and for the second time that day, Midoriya felt his heart stop, though for different and far more pleasant reasons altogether.
“You’re my hero, Midoriya.”
Midoriya remembered back to when he was still training with All Might to inherit One For All. He was talking about how All Might always pushed on, no matter what, and how did he always want to protect people?
Toshinori Yagi had an answer.
“Well, I have someone I want to protect. And I think of them with the collective.”
He told Midoriya that he would find that person and that he would understand it when it happened. He said it was like feeling a hot arrow through the chest, melting through. That it was a thought of ‘That’s who I want to fight for!’
And Midoriya Izuku, talking to a girl he had pulled out of the sky and known for only a day, felt that hot arrow like it had been waiting the entire time. Like it had just been hovering, and as soon as she said that, it flung itself at him with the frenzy of sixteen years.
He let out a feeble ‘oh’, with all the breath knocked out of him, and nearly toppled out of the chair when he took a breath. His head spun.
Recovery Girl walked in, beginning to babble about something before snapping her eyes between the two teens. Her eyebrows raised into her hairline, and a smirk came over her face.
“Did you two have a good chat?”
Midoriya whipped his head to look at her, and YN went back to looking out the window. Midoriya shook his head wildly, flailing his free hand.
“It’s not like that! Not at all! We just kind of talked!”
“I never assume anything, Midoriya.” Recovery Girl had a twinkle in her eye, and she gently guided Midoriya off the chair. “The period is over, so feel free to get back to class. But absolutely do not put pressure on your finger!”
“Yes, ma’am.” He turned to YN, and his voice caught in his throat. “See later you-you later-be safe-”
“Go! I have to check up on her!” Recovery Girl shoved Midoriya out the door, laughing at his blabbering. YN gave a shy little wave, smiling.
“He’s nice.” YN’s eyes followed Recovery Girl, watching her fuss around with some medical tools.
“Yes, he’s quite kind. He could use restraint with his quirk, though.”
“What do you mean?” YN tilted her head, and Recovery Girl approached her.
“Whenever he uses his quirk,” The elderly woman hummed. “It breaks whatever limb he’s using.”
“What?!” YN yelped.
“Yes. I thought he would have mentioned it.”
“He didn’t. Obviously.” YN glanced out of the corner of her eye at the chair he was previously in, squinting. She didn’t intend to sound pissy, but that meant that he probably hurt himself when he caught her, and that made her feel even worse.
“Now, my dear, please raise your arms.”
YN lifted them obediently, with some of her arm muscles bunching together from the sudden gravity.
“Do you work out, dear? You seem quite strapping.”
YN held back a laugh from the use of ‘strapping’, as she hadn’t heard that word used that way for years, but nodded. “I took tae kwon do when I was younger. I quit about a year ago, but I still try to work out.”
Recovery Girl nodded sagely. “Good, good. It’s important that you can protect yourself. Especially since you’re such a young woman…”
“Ah, thank you.”
The conversation stopped since Recovery Girl was tugging at different parts of YN, before pulling away.
“You are in wonderful condition, my dear. Since all you got from that fall was a migraine, and even then that’s gone away, you seem to be quite resilient.”
“I’m glad.”
“I think one of the pro-heroes are talking about taking you in for the time being, until we can get more permanent housing for you. I assume that you don’t have family here, at least.”
YN looked out the window, eyebrows furrowed. “I don’t think so.”
This entire place, she realised, seemed like perfection. It was quaint for a city, with clean air and kind people. And people had superpowers. This world wasn’t her own.
This world wasn’t...her own.
She looked back at Recovery Girl, more serious than before. “Thank you. Is it okay if I leave, walk around?”
“Only a bit, dear. Don’t wear yourself out, stay in the school, and come back when you’re done.”
“Thank you.” YN smiled, shaking off her seriousness and placing her legs on the side of the bed. The cold tiles hit her feet, and a shiver went up to her spine. Recovery Girl came back with some shoes that looked like slippers.
“Wear these. They should fit you, and if not, I keep all kinds of sizes.”
Thankfully, they did fit, and YN rose. She looked down at Recovery Girl (by God, she was short) and smiled.
“I’ll be back.”
“Be safe, dear!”
YN pulled open the door and stepped out. Large wide glass windows were in front of her, and she realised that, indeed, she was inside a school (what kind of school was nearly this large?) and that the gates were just outside the glass, several floors down. In the distance, she heard a clock or a bell toll twelve, and the faint sound of teenagers talking.
She was in a high school. That makes sense. Vaguely.
YN blinked lethargically, feeling a strange sense of being both displaced and weighed down. It felt as though the weight of the world was on her shoulders, and she had no one to share the burden with. This was her trial, she thought, before realising that she was acting like she was dying. Sure, it was an unfathomable situation where she had to completely fix the way she acted and accommodate a completely different society. But there was nothing she couldn’t do.
YN nodded to herself. She was going to approach the sources of the sounds, and then try to integrate herself with the conglomerate, so to speak. And then...well, YN figured, she would fight those battles.
YN took the turn and began walking.
Midoriya was preoccupied.
He was in the dining hall, a bowl of katsudon in front of him, and his eyes focusing on a floating piece of scallion that bobbed around the pork. Iida and Ochako were talking animatedly about a severe essay that Aizawa had assigned, especially with it only having been a week since the villain attack at USJ. Even moreso, the Sports Festival hype was beginning to gear up, only making students more restless. But Midoriya was restless for a different reason.
His mind had been almost exclusively on the girl from earlier, and just how quickly he became so whipped. Part of him said that it was just a crush on someone he thought was attractive, but the rest said that he was most definitely willing to get on one knee and marry her on the spot. The thought, as delusional as it seemed, made him flush and bright red. It crawled up his neck and onto his ears, and he placed a hand over his cheeks. He huffed, before realising that Ochako and Iida had stopped talking. He opened his eyes to see them staring at him. Iida was wide eyed and concerned, but Ochako had an almost conniving grin.
“What’s the look for, Deku?” Ochako hummed, tilting her head. Her hair bounced along, curling and hitting her chin. “You’re on fire!”
“Indeed!” Iida said, his voice sharp and almost booming. “If you believe you have caught something, then it is best to explain to a teacher and take approximately three days off, as to take care of yourself and not infect anyone else.”
“You aren’t sick, are you?” Ochako looked smug, crossing her arms. “It’s a blush!”
“A blush?” Iida looked at Ochako. “But that would-”
“I-It’s okay! I was just thinking…” Midoriya stammered, hoping to backtrack from the conversation as much as possible. “It’s nothing important…”
“Is it a girl?” Ochako grinned though it seemed the smallest bit forced.
“How did you know?!” Midoriya yelped before looking around to make sure that no one else (read: Bakugou) heard his voice jump six octaves. “I mean...how did…?”
“You look giddy.” Ochako pointed a finger like Foenix Right. “I guess you have a crush on someone from in our class!”
“Well...not quite.” Midoriya hugged himself. “She’s not from 1-A, but she’s here? Like, not attending but she-”
“Who is it?” Ochako seemed to be jumping her seat. Iida frowned.
“We cannot pressure Midoriya to say anything he doesn’t want to! Peer pressure is a very serious issue that cannot be allowed in U.A.! Despite you thinking-”
“He wouldn’t tell us if he didn’t want to!” Ochako giggled. “Who is it?”
“She’s, uh...she…” Midoriya gulped. “She’s the...girl…”
“What? Speak up!” Despite his warnings, Iida leaned in with Ochako. Midoriya felt like he was about to faint, and tried to avoid Ochako’s wide eyes with all his power. His own eyes wandered, before he glanced upon fell on one of the side entrances.
The girl stood there, towering over most and eyeing the entire cafeteria in wide-eyed wonder like a child at Christmas. He noticed that her eyes lingered on people like Mina and Shoji who’s quirks were more obvious. His entire face lit up in a blush when she barely turned to face the section that he and his group were sitting in, and he ducked under the table with a yelp. He had no idea how to act. And this? This definitely wasn’t it.
Ochako looked over at where Midoriya had spotted the girl, and when she saw the girl, her face split into a maniacal grin. A cruel chuckle sounded over the table, and when Midoriya peeked up over the table at her, he paled.
“Hey, what are you planning?” Midoriya felt his stomach drop. “She’s-that’s-!”
“Hey, miss!” Ochako yelled, waving a hand and even floating a bit. She sat back in her chair when, against all the odds in the crowded and deafening dining hall, the girl heard. She seemed confused, pointing a finger at herself before Ochako nodded with vigor.
“Yeah, you! C’mere!”
The girl weaved her way over, and Midoriya couldn’t help but stare at the way she maneuvered. It was fluid and lithe, like a dancer, and Midoriya didn’t even realise he was staring until her face was suddenly much closer, and it had lit up in a smile. He jumped before looking at the table again.
“Hello, Midoriya!” She looked at Ochako. “Did you call me over for something?”
“Yeah! Deku was talking about you!”
Midoriya looked up, hoping that she was looking at Ochako, but she was staring right at him. Her head was tilted, slightly, like a puppy might do, and a sudden mental image of her with floppy German Shepherd puppy ears swarmed him. He reared back. Her eyebrows furrowed.
“Are you alright, Midoriya?”
“See!” Ochako cried. “Even she’s noticed.”
Iida nodded and the girl glanced between the two with curious eyes.
“I’m sorry, but...who are you two?”
“I am Iida Tenya! It is a pleasure to meet you!” Iida rose and bowed, and the girl seemed taken aback. She gave a shaky smile and a wave.
“I’m Ochako Uraraka! But just call me Ochako!” Ochako gave a little grin and a peace sign. “What’s your name?”
Midoriya suddenly narrowed in on the conversation, realising that he didn’t know the girl’s name. The girl was about to speak, the beginning of something sounding, when the ten minute bell rang. Iida jumped.
“While we both wish we could speak with you more,” Iida pointed at a mounted clock. “Our lunch break is coming to an end and it is unacceptable to be late to our classes.”
YN hummed. “Of course. Hopefully, I’ll see y’all around.”
She waved and left, before Ochako and Iida turned to Midoriya with malicious grins (though Iida’s didn’t seem as nearly conniving as Ochako’s).
“So that’s the girl! She’s adorable!” Ochako gave a less evil but still concerning smile, clasping her hands together.
“She seems quite polite.” Iida nodded, beginning to polish off his food. Midoriya sunk into his chair, embarrassment wanting him to be swallowed whole.
But, hey, he thought. He almost got her name. And he definitely wanted to see her around.
YN pulled back into the hallway that she came from, figuring that she might as well head back to Recovery Girl’s office and see if she couldn’t find something else to do. Maybe she had colouring books, or something. She could burn time until something came up.
The halls had long emptied by the time that YN was at the second to last turn to the office. The students were in their respective classes, and YN was just a single child trying to worm her way back to Recovery Girl.
YN was snapped out of her thoughts when she saw the back of a student. He didn’t wear the uniform, but he looked to be about the right age.
“Excuse me...shouldn’t you be in class?” YN called out, beginning to walk up the boy. Blonde tufts of hair stuck out in the back, and she saw that there was a tan on his ears. “Sir?”
The boy popped his neck, slowly and methodically, and she heard him breathe deeply and sigh. Her nerves began to buzz, and the hair on the back of her neck rose. She stopped walking up to him.
“Sir?”
“You…”
His voice came out like a wheeze. YN stood a little straighter, about to touch his shoulder.
“Hey, are you ok?”
His head spun around like a bullet, his neck cracking from the force. His entire face was some sort of hollow blue void, and she could feel it sucking her in.
“You did this.”
“H-Holy shit!” YN yelped, falling onto her back and scrambling back. The boy stepped closer, a hand reaching out, before his head turned seventy degrees to look at the upcoming right turn. The boy, the thing, it wrapped a hand around her throat and drew her close.
“Stay away from Mizuki.”
It disappeared with a blue burst of light, and Recovery Girl hustled around the corner to YN. Immediately, she began to check her for injuries, but YN stared absentmindedly at the ceiling.
“Dear? Can you hear me?” YN barely recognised Recovery Girl waving a hand in front of her face, everything beginning to blur together.

Chapter 2: Hahaha I Do That
Hero school doesn’t suck as much as I thought. Probably because my aunty Midnight is still there teaching and she makes me feel like I’m my own person. Everyone else just compares me to my dad, love the man but I’m here to spite him. It’s my mom’s birthday today, I hurry home to see what my dad was planning for her. I get home to see my dad comforting my mom on the couch, I stay quiet to drop in on what they’re saying.
“Darling, everything’s alright”
“I know but it’s been 26 years! I want to go home.”
“Please don’t lose hope, I don’t want to hear you giving up!”
“My heart hurts, I can’t think.”
“Go recoup in the office, I’ll handle things here”
“Okay...I love you.”
“I love you more.” They kiss and mom warps out as my dad stands up. He spots me “Oh Lili you’re home! I didn’t hear you.”
“Is mom okay? She was crying” I was concerned because mom is usually so composed and cool headed “did something happen?”
“Its, a complicated concern” Dad hesitated on his words, eyes shifting to the stairs that lead to her office “but why don’t you help me with dinner?”
“Alright, let me change out of my uniform” I trot my way to my room and see that my little sister was also home but probably in the boys room to pester Tensei. I change quickly and get back down to the kitchen to see my dad scolding my brothers.
“Boys! Stop eating cookies or you’ll ruin your appetite!”
“You don’t tell me what to do old man!” growled Tensei as he took 3 cookies from the platter and warped away with Iwa.
“What are you making dad?” I walk up to him to help.
“I’m making ceviche and other raw cuts with sushi rice” he whispered “it’s your mom’s favorite as a child” he pointed at the vegetables “can you help me chop up these?”
As I cut the ingredients, I watch how shifty my dad was getting “Dad, can I ask you something? About mom?”
“Of course!” he turned off the stove “what do you want to know?”
“When was the last time she went to her home country?” I put the knife down “I know she’s from America and all her family is there, but doesn’t she visit when she’s homesick?”
“Oh dear” he sighed in defeat “your mother hasn’t been in America since she came over here at the age of 15.”
I was in shock “Why hasn’t she gone?”
“Lili, there’s a lot of things your mother has been through that she doesn’t like to share” his eyes shift to the family photo in the dining room “it was traumatic and heartbreaking, but she had to leave her home to protect her family and herself from all the violence back home” he put his hand on her cheek “it’s just not safe for her to go back but she’s not alone anymore. She has us to fill the void of home in her heart.”
Things sort of made sense “Does ever miss her old home?”
“All the time!” he laughed “your mom would tell me stories about her home when we were in high school. She lived right behind the high school she attended but she wasn’t allowed to teleport in so she’d have to walk like everyone else!”
We continue making dinner as he told me mom’s stories, but I was tempted to eat a cookie “Did you make these cookies dad?”
“I did! They hold a very special significance to your mother and I”
“How?”
“You see, I met your mother on her 16th birthday and she made these cookies to celebrate with us but she got shy and didn’t say it was her birthday” he reminisced “so we all thought she was being nice. It was the most delicious cookie I’ve ever had and I had to talk to her after class to thank her. So when I did, I saw her face up close and I didn’t know how to act” he blushed “I accidentally made her cry and got in trouble by Midnight but if it wasn’t for this cookie, I wouldn’t have known that your mother was my soulmate.”
“Soulmate? How did you know she was your soulmate?”
“Every time I see her smile and laugh, it makes me happy. When I talk to her, my mind blanks and I lose my cool” a smile cracks on his face “When I hold her in my arms after a rough day, it feels like I have the world in my arms. And when I held her hand for the first time, I felt my heart skipping beats. That’s when I knew that she was someone special and I would be a fool to let go.”
I meditated on those words all through dinner and into bedtime. If my dad could figure it out, I can too! I decided that tomorrow I should tell Maru that I don’t have feelings for him.
-The next day, Lunchtime-
“Yah know Togata” I started as I looked at them down their rice “I still can’t figure out where I’ve seen you and it’s bothering me.”
“How so?” they said with their mouth full
“Like, I’ve told my mom about you and your dad” I recalled “she said that she doesn’t like working with your dad but she knows that he has 2 sons and a daughter. But she doesn’t remember the last time she’s seen the kids.”
“Yea, since mom died, my dad has been very protective of us” they wiped their mouth “if you didn’t know us before that, then seeing us now would’ve been a weird surprise.”
“Well what about your sister?”
“Let’s just say, she’s not dead but no longer with us.”
“Huh? What do you-”
“LILI! Mind if I sit here?!” Maru yelled, interrupting me.
“Oh um, I rather if you don’t Maru.”
“Why not?” he pouted “I haven’t spend anytime with you since the first day!”
“Well I’m getting to know my classmate here” I gesture toward them “now if you don’t mind, we were in the middle of something.”
“Oh right! Sorry to bother!” he backed away when he saw Hoshi “I see you after school?”
“Yea, see you later!”
Hoshi gave me the wide eyes “You didn’t tell me you and the number 1 hero’s son are like...that.”
“Oh god no!” I gagged at the thought “I’ve known him since I was born and he’s just my friend” I huffed “he looks and smells like a Brussels sprout!”
Hoshi bursts out laughing “A brussels sprout?! Oh man I’m dying!” he fans himself “I didn’t know you were so funny Iida-san!”
I don’t know why, but their laugher sparked joy and it made me soft. When school ended for the day, I waited for Maru by the parking lot.
“Sorry to keep you waiting Lili” Maru ran up to me “were you waiting long?”
“No I’ve been here for a few minutes.”
“Cool, oh! Did you want to go get some boba?” he clapped “there’s this good place here at the town square.”
“I’ve been, I prefer the cafe though” I fixed my glasses “I’m an iced coffee person, I just wanted to walk and talk.”
“Oh alright” we started walking “what did you want to talk about?”
“You know what you said after my summer showcase?”
“Yea, what about it?”
“I know that you care about me and I appreciate your company but I just” I tried to keep my tone neutral “it had nothing to do with you, but I don’t feel the same way you feel towards me.”
“You don’t want to be my wife?” he said sadly.
“I just think you could do better” I said to disarm the situation “like when you kissed me, it was my first kiss and I didn’t feel anything! No change in my heart rate, no warm fuzzy feelings nor any sort of happiness.”
“Let me try again” he leaned in as I leaned away “please Lili, I want to be your love and I feel strongly about you.”
“But I don’t and I’m sorry” I was really feeling bad that I broke his heart “who knows! Maybe down the line when we become adults, we’ll reunite and start something.”
“I really thought you’d feel the same” he sighed “your the only girl that’ll talk to me.”
“What about Bakugo-san?”
“Elise? They’re not a girl” he hard exhaled “they’re the embodiment of angry!”
“I always thought you two would be together” I pouted “I shipped you two so hard as a child that I wanted to be the flower girl at your wedding!”
“Silly girl! I like the sweet and pretty types” he ruffled her hair.
“Gah! Not the hair!” I punched him “I’m not sweet, I’m tough as fuck!”
He gave me a once-over “Didn’t know tough girls wore pink lace socks with ribbons in their hair.”
I got home and was greeted by the congregation of my mom, Mimi and Jin in the kitchen.
“I’m home!”
“Welcome home Lili!” they chanted.
“What’s the haps?”
“We didn’t end up going to Hiroshima for that meeting” Jin explained “so we’re just chillin here, watching the little ones.”
“Nikita is starting to develop her quirk very nicely” Mimi said proudly “she can now mimic my voice!”
“Oh that’s cool!” I looked at my mom “also, I talked to my new friend and they said that they do have 2 older brothers but that the sister is not with them anymore?”
“That’s slightly concerning” Mom put her cup down “Oh jeez it’s been years since I’ve seen Mirio’s kids. I swear those kids are more secured than our facilities!”
“Yup! I can’t find a single thing about the kids” Jin sighed “no medical records, dental records, school records nor pictures past a certain point!”
“Well in any case, I’m glad that one of the boys is alright” Mom tried to change the mood to something more positive “Lili can you go check on the kids? They’ve been awfully quiet.”
I nod and put my bag down to find them. They were outside, laying on the grass.
“Y’all dead?”
“No! Just tired” Rosa snapped “Nikita is a little too energetic.”
“I was going ZOOOOM!” clapped Nikita.
“Well if y’all just tired” I turned to go back inside “then carry on.” I go to my room and get started on my homework. The scene of Hoshi laughing popped up in my head before I had to wash up for dinner, I don’t think I’ve ever felt soft over a laugh before. Am I in love? Or am I just excited to have a friend other than Maru? Either way, Hoshi and I are in fact good friends! And I’m happy that I’m not unlikeable in this new environment, I’ve had classmates that compliment me and say hello and good bye to me at least! I guess being in the cutthroat world of dance really makes one cold and bitter when you want to be the best.
-2 weeks later, UA training grounds-
“Iida-san, can you make a net so we can catch all the targets?”
“Sure thing! One net coming right up!” I rubbed my hands as I unraveled the muslin sash on my waist “tell me when to stop.”
“uhhh....okay stop! That’s good” my classmate commanded “okay everyone take a corner and lets catch the targets as they fall.”
We’re in groups of 5 for some team building rescue, my team was getting along fine....other’s struggled quite a bit. When we all recouped before heading in for the day, I noticed that Hoshi’s PE top was ripped.
“Hey I can fix your top real quick if you want” I offered as we walked to the locker rooms.
“Um sure BUT um lets go over there” Hoshi panicked and pointed to the edge of the school garden “I don’t want anyone to see.”
“Alright lets” we walk over and the whole time he’s being skiddish “um, that rip is bigger than I thought, mind if you lift your arms a bit so I can get a proper fix?”
“Yea, I MEAN NO!” he lifted his arms but then quickly dropped them “I don’t feel comfortable doing that.”
“Oh I see” I take off my sash “my top wont fit you but you can cover up with this until I fix the top.”
“It’s not that” he starts to turn red “I’m just scared about what you’ll think about this thing I have on.”
I look at the rip and I see that he has a spandex-like undershirt and toned stomach “I don’t see anything out of the ordinary?”
He sighs and takes a quick look around to see if there was anybody watching “Okay, I’ll show you” he takes off his top and tosses to me “um, I’m not sure how to say this, I haven’t shown anybody this.”
I look and I don’t see what’s the thing he’s referring to “What is it? All I see is compression top and your toned body” I poked my stomach “my body is still a little soft in some places.”
This makes him feel a little less nervous “It’s not that but I’m” he takes a deep breath “I’m transgender, I wasn’t born male. This is my chest binder to hide the one thing that will give away my secret.”
“I had no idea” everything clicked for me “wait, does that mean that you WERE the sister I was talking about?”
“Yes, and I knew the whole time who you were” he sighed “remember the night of the hero’s gala? My dad and your parents were talking and we played together” he smiled with tears in his eyes “you snuck me outside so we could star-gaze and you said-”
“Make a wish! My wish is that all your wishes will come true!” I remembered what I said as a child “that’s right! I said that and my favorite thing were stars because in Japanese it means wish and star!”
He nodded as he wiped his tears “That moved me so much as a child because my mom died and I needed something to give me hope” he looked up at me “you saved me Lili, I wished to see you again and that we could be friends. I even changed my name to Hoshi!”
My mind was racing and I felt my heart skipping beats “And your wishes did come true, we did meet again” I smiled “and we are friends, I won’t tell anybody about this.”
“You mean it?” he was surprised to hear me say that “You’re not disgusted by me?”
“Why would I be disgusted? I thought you were one of the boys until you showed me this” I looked at the ripped top “I should fix this!” I fixed the garment and handed it back “you’re my friend Togata-san! Friends don’t let their friend’s secrets out. You can come out whenever you’re ready to tell the world, but for now, I’m glad you told me and I’m happy you’re living your truth.”
He looked at me wide eyed and ran forward to hug me “I’m so happy you accept me for me” he sobbed “it’s been so hard for me to find someone that cares that isn’t my brothers. You can call me Hoshi.”
“It’s not problem!” I hugged back “then you can call me Lili.”
I took note on Hoshi’s appearance and I couldn’t tell if they were female before, the only thing that made them familiar to me were their nose and eyes. He had lighter blonde hair, dark blue eyes and the same height as me, and I’m a tall girl to some! He had some muscle build on him that made his embrace feel secure. I feel myself go soft again, something was happening but I’m not sure what. We spent more time together after that, I told my mom the truth. She was so relieved and happy for them! She encouraged me to bring them over whenever. Hoshi was even happier to know that my mom cared about them too.
“Hey Lili, wanna go to town square with me?” Maru confronted me after school.
“Sorry not today Maru” I winced “I’m going home, It’s Iwa’s birthday.”
“Aw I see” He facepalmed “I forgot that you had siblings for a second heh” he fixed his shoulder strap “I was hoping to spend some time with you, it’s been weeks since we’ve had some one on one time.”
“Yea it has been a while” I push my glasses up “but maybe Elise-sama can accompany you today.”
“Since when did you-”
“DAMN RIGHT I’M FUCKING LADY!” Maru was drowned out by Elise’s holler “Omaru! What are you doing loitering around?”
“He was just telling me he wanted someone to accompany him to the boba shop” I butt in before Maru had a chance to speak.
“I’ll be happy to go!” Elise quickly takes a death hold on Maru’s hand “Why go with this little girl when you have me. Let’s go Omaru!”
“Hey wait!” Maru tried to protest but he was already being dragged down the hall by Elise. He looked back to see Lili and Hoshi walking away in the opposite direction. That really bothered him that he didn’t even notice that Elise literally dragged him by the hand all the way to the boba shop.
“Hey circle head!” Elise let go of his hand “what’s with you? You’re not as annoying lately.”
He sat down at the patio table “What are you talking about?”
“You and twinkle toes-chan” she crossed her arms as she sat down across him “you did something stupid and now she’s not happily joining you anywhere.”
He sighed “you caught me” he put his head down on the table “I kissed Lili the weekend before dorm move-in, and I really though she’d say yes to being my girlfriend but she just panicked and bolted away” he cringed a little remembering that night “she even told me later that she doesn’t have feelings for me and that I could do better. Now she has a new friend and she hardly wants to be around me. I don’t know what I did wrong.”
“You know what I think” Elise put a finger on his forehead “I think that you need to let go, yea you two are friends but you treat her like she’s the only girl in the world!” she flicked his forehead “newsflash Omaru! There’s girls throwing themselves onto you for you to even look at them! You’re so dense and narrow sighted to things that it pisses me off!”
He rubs his forehead “Gee I’m sorry that I like somebody so much” he sat up “but don’t know if I can let go.”
“You have to, she’s all grown up” she sighs “we all grew up together, I’ve noticed all her changes. To be honest, I hope they end up with their new friend” she smiled “they’re so adorable together, a graceful type with their brawny type.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of” he said in a defeated way “I’m being shut out and I’m not the one she depends on anymore.”
“Don’t turn this into a harem thing for her” she rolled her eyes “she’s going to beat the shit out of you if you try to do any of your romantic gestures” she puts her hands up “I’m calling it now.”
“And what are you going to do if she doesn’t?”
“I’m going to beat the shit out of you” she growled “stupid, you’re not going to be ‘the one’ and you’re a fool if you think you are.”
“And what if she does?”
“I’m going to laugh at you, patch you up and kiss your stupid face” she laughed “you’re not the only one with a childhood crush.”
“Oh” he turned red and covered his face “GYA why do I need to get my ass kicked to get what I want?!”
More people are taking note on my new level of friendship with Hoshi. Some were bold enough to ask if we were dating, of course we said no every time. I don’t know if what I have is love or respect for Hoshi! It’s all confusing but we’re enjoying each other’s company and conversations. We even train together but that’s mostly because in the case of their top ripping, I could quickly fix it. The weeks fly by so fast that the Sports Festival comes around and I wasn’t feelin’ it.
“I don’t wanna show them my skills like a show pony!” I huffed and stomped “Dad, isn’t there a work around?!”
“I’m afraid there isn’t” he sighed “look, it’s just a one time thing and you are guaranteed one internship with uncle Tensei if you don’t do everything.”
“I’m not in the mood to show the pros what I can do” I crossed my arms “humph! I wanna dance for the masses, not fight!”
Mom puts her hands on my shoulders “Listen up kiddo, how I see it” she makes eye contact with Lili “if you make your fighting as stylistic as possible, you’re putting on a good show and everyone will be like ‘look how pretty she moves!’ and all the while, you’re just dancing!”
“You know what, I just might do that!” I smile “thanks mom! I guess I should go into my wing to get announced in” I turn to run to my place “see you later!”
Her parents waved her off until she was out of sight “Can you believe my little girl, growing up in my footsteps?!”
“Tenya, are you crying?”
“It’s just that, it seemed like a week ago I was holding her in my arms for the first time” he wiped his tears “and yesterday she was dancing around in her little pink dresses, now she’s on her way to be a hero!”
“Come on you cry baby! We have to hurry to our box seats if you want to see the opening ceremony.”
I tried my best while giving a show during the spars. Kinda fucked up to pit us against each other like this but I’m not going to question anybody about it. I didn’t make it to the final round, putting me in 5th place. Hoshi got 3rd and that was pretty cool! For a brief moment I saw his family, he didn’t look too happy to be with them and I wondered why. I didn’t ask though.
-The following Monday-
“Who do you think you got offers from?” asked my classmate.
“I know I got an obligatory offer from my uncle’s agency” I rolled my eyes “as much as I love my family, I don’t want to be under my uncle’s and dad’s wing.”
“Who’s your uncle and dad?” asked another confused classmate.
“Are you kidding me?” Hoshi spoke up “did the rocket feet not give it away?! Her family carries the Ingenium legacy!” he pointed at my features “glasses, tall, strong legs... all features of the current Ingenium, her dad.”
“WAH?! You’re basically royalty Iida-san!”
“Oh please! I’m nothing like that Turbo Doofus” I blushed “in all honesty, my mom made the family line much more interesting with all the random quirks like my second quirk” I waved my hands to reshape my hair ribbons into a lasso to pull the chair in front of me, making my classmate miss their chair and fall on their butt “who knows, I might fuck it up and make us known for something else.”
“Alright class, settle down” sensei walks in with a huge stack of packets “I have offers to pass back to you, some of you got a little too much attention so be warned on the thickness of your packets” he starts to pass out the packets “...and here’s yours Miss Iida.”
I get my packet and it’s very light. I look over to the others and see their’s are obviously thicker, guess nobody wanted dancing hero Lili. Flipping into the offers part, I got one from uncle Tensei and another from...Best Jeanist? Who the hell is that? “Hey Hoshi, did you get an offer from a Best Jeanist?”
He flipped through his papers to check “Nope, but I’ve never heard of them?” he pondered “maybe he’s new?”
“Doubt, the agencies in attendance were all well known ones” I furrowed my brow “this is weird, I’ll ask my parents then.” When the day ended and I got home, my parents freaked out over the name.
“WHAT?! HE WAS THERE?!” mom screamed and panicked “Oh my god oh my god oh my god!”
“I don’t- what?!” dad was sweating as he quadruple checked the offer sheet “it can’t be?! After all this time?!”
“What’s the big deal! Tell me!” I was freaking out because my parents never collectively lose their shit over things.
Mom takes a few calming breaths “Okay, I’m cool, I can be cool” she turns toward me “Best Jeanist is the hero I interned under way back when” she cracked the biggest smile “and why we’re both shaken up is because he retired like 20 years ago and he was doing some traveling last time I spoke to him.”
“Yeah, he was an amazing hero! Number 4 to be exact” dad butted in “he worked with your uncle and some of my family in hero work. You probably don’t remember him, he held you as a baby and even made you that pink satin dress you loved so much.”
“He made me that dress?” I remembered the dress but not who made it for me “but if you say he’s retired, why extend an offer? Is that allowed?”
“I’m not sure” dad pondered and handed the packet back to me “looks like you have to make a difficult decision.”
I sat at my desk for what seemed days, trying to weight out my options. I made my decision an hour before the paperwork was due on Wednesday....hope I made the right choice.

BnHA Chapter 163: Reunions and Provisional License Training
Previously on BnHA: Gran Torino and Naomasa cornered Kurogiri in the middle of the woods somewhere. It looked like they were about to capture him, but then this big Goron-looking dude stomped in out of nowhere and we cut away from the scene, so who even knows what’s going on with that. Back at the hospital, Deku had a chat with Mirio, who was amazingly cheerful -- the last thing Nighteye said to him was to keep smiling, and he intends to follow through with that. Deku had a moment of guilt-stricken weakness because Mirio had been so amazing while he himself had needed help from everyone. He started to offer Mirio One for All, but Mirio cut him off and said that even if it was “hypothetically possible” for Deku to give him his quirk, he wouldn’t accept because that would only leave Deku in the same situation that he’s in right now. He also said that Aizawa told him they would be working hard to figure out a way to restore his quirk. And Nighteye’s last prediction was that he would be an outstanding hero, and he believes in him. Having been successfully cheered up, Deku returned to school with the other kids. The next day, BAKUGOU AND TODOROKI HEADED OFF TO THEIR PROVISIONAL LICENSE COURSE. YOU GUYS. THEY’RE BACK.
Today on BnHA: The internship kids return to their classmates who have been WORRIED SICK and don’t hesitate to inform them of this. Ochako and Kirishima have quiet moments of reflection about why they want to become heroes and how far they have to go, respectively. The next morning, Bakugou and Todoroki head off to their supplemental training course, chaperoned by All Might and Present Mic. We learn from All Might that Gran Torino and Naomasa managed to capture Kurogiri, but were in pretty bad shape after their confrontation with the Giganto dude, who apparently leveled half the mountainside during their battle. Over at the license exam training course place, Endeavor makes an appearance, having come to watch Shouto train. He also says he wants to have a chat with All Might. Meanwhile Shouto is greeted by his new best friend Yoarashi Inasa (who is still my favorite), as well as For Reals Camie, who we’re meeting for the very first time. Also Seiji of meatball quirk fame is here as well just for laughs. The chapter ends fairly abruptly, but it’s all good because this is going to be a good arc full of fun times you guys.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 187 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
(ETA: apparently the 3rd popularity poll results were released with this chapter! I had to go hunt down the color page and the full results because they weren’t included with the scanlation I read. so I’m adding in this ETA as of finishing volume 18 and belatedly realizing there were supposed to be poll results somewhere in there lol
Bakugou in the number one spot once more! that post-Kamino character development was so good that his popularity managed to withstand 40 straight chapters of being completely absent from the plot. pretty impressive
there is literally only ONE vote separating Shouto and Deku, oh snap. Shouto’s popularity also held up pretty damn well during the Internship arc. absence truly does make the heart grow fonder
Kirishima has moved up a spot! fucking superb you funky little rock man
and a surprise guest breaking into that no. 5 spot, Iida fucking Tenya! wow! beat out Aizawa by a good 400 votes. in this post-ponytail world, that is truly shocking to me. once again I will chock it up to his being absent for so long and making us realize how much we truly loved him. although a more likely explanation is that the anime had just finished up the Hero Killer arc right around when this poll was being conducted in the tail end of 2017
I’m delighted to see Kaminari here at number 8, even before his Kacchan moment which is coming up in this very chapter! I love him so much
Shinsou’s got himself some dedicated fans, let me tell you. they are doing the lord’s work, using this poll as a way of not-too-subtly hinting at Horikoshi to drop Mineta from 1-A and replace him with this kid instead. we’ll keep holding out hope
so that’s it for the top ten (with shoutouts to Aizawa, All Might, and Ochako because I didn’t mention them specifically but OBVIOUSLY I LOVE THEM TOO OF COURSE). I think the full list is in one of the omakes, so I’ll cover that at the end of this chapter.)
[mario voice] here we GOOOOOOO
so we’re back at the fanfic dorms (I MISSED THESE TOO), and the internship kids have finally made it back after going through all sorts of “inquiries and processes”
Mineta’s screaming “THEY’RE BAAAAAAACK” and honestly it’s one of the few times I’ve empathized with him so strongly
are you kidding me. you fit 18 fucking kids into this panel but you couldn’t fit Bakugou fucking Katsuki
also I always die any time Shouji is wearing one of his legendary ponchos. lmao
honestly, even without Bakugou (and who else is missing, though? ... oh shit, Tokoyami), this one panel still feels more like BnHA than the series has in ages. I missed this
(ETA: wait a sec, was Tokoyami out on his own internship while this was all taking place? is that why he’s not here? do I need to stop dragging my feet and force my ADD brain to sit still for five goddamn minutes so I can finish the arc I’m currently on?)
Kaminari’s shouting that Kirishima and Deku (a.k.a. the two who were also involved in Rescue Squad Jr.) are always getting mixed up in crazy shit and they need to stop scaring them
they were scared, then. of course. that’s fine, it was only to be expected. it’s not like I’m tempted to stop reading right this second and go look up post-Internship Arc class 1-A genfics on AO3
but like, I really did want to for a minute, and y’all know how badly I want to see Bakugou again, so please understand that I’m loving this scene just that much
Hagakure’s hugging Tsuyu and Ochako awww
what’s this
Shouto got a mysterious text? Shouto is always on his fucking phone I s2g. get off social media for two seconds and say hi to your friends
(ETA: this seems like a good place to share my headcanon that Endeavor texts like Captain Holt from B99 and composes all of his texts like formal business letters with perfect grammar and begins them all with “Dear Shouto” and signs them all with “Sincerely, Endeavor.” yes he signs them as “Endeavor” and not “dad” or even “your father” because he’s just really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really bad at being a dad. you guys.)
Iida is divebombing in front of the returning kids and screaming at everyone to calm down
;_________;
IIDA BRINGING THOSE CLASS 1-A FEELS. THAT’S OUR CLASS PREZ
but Deku’s waving a hand at him and thanking him for being considerate, “but”
oh my god
loooooool
“ARE YOU SURE, MIDORIYA. BECAUSE I JUST MADE A PRETTY BIG FUCKING SCENE RIGHT NOW, YOU KNOW”
LOOOOOOOOOL, BUT NOW THAT HE HAS THE GO AHEAD...
IIDA FUCKING TENYA I MISSED YOU TOO YOU BIG GOOBER
Momo is running off to make some tea for them
and Satou is literally shoving cake into Deku’s face now
for some reason Ochako is being very quiet though
oh. oh no
honey it’s not your fault!
shit. this is the first job-related death they’ve experienced, though. of course they’re all going to be traumatized by it to some degree. no wonder the staff wanted to brief them thoroughly
I hope they offered counseling. they fucked up with Bakugou and they need to not do that again. class 1-A keeps accumulating various traumas and if these kids don’t get mental health support they’re all going to be a hot mess by the time they graduate
in the meantime we at least have Aizawa “Mom of the Year” Shouta on the job
is it just me or does Aizawa not even pretend anymore these days. he’s so fucking maternal. he loves them all so much, and he’s not even mad about it. they’re good kids
so Ochako is having what we call a Deku Moment
staring at the hands and everything
is this the first time she’s said this? remember, previously her goal was to become a hero so that she could provide for her mom and dad. very selfless, but she was still in it for the money rather than the whole “rescuing people” thing. so I think this is the first time we’ve heard her voice this particular sentiment out loud. and it’s great
Kirishima’s looking at her with a quiet expression that suggests that his own angst is brewing beneath the surface omg
and Sero’s slinging an arm around him aggressively
this is nice! he needs this!
aww! Mina too!
NO NOT REALLY
KIRISHIMA ;_____;
WHERE IS BAKUGOU GODDAMMIT
GASPPPP
ever the antisocial one
HERE HE IS IN HIS OWN PANEL FINALLY OMGGGGGG
omg
so he’s listening in with his resting bitch face, because of course he was worried just like all the rest of them, but like hell you’ll catch him joining in with the obnoxious crowd of people swarming them all at once
but this way he can still see that they’re all right. and maybe he can talk to Kirishima later. and maybe nod at Deku or make awkward eye contact for two seconds and then pretend like nothing happened. you know how they do
LOOK WHO’S HOPPING OVER AND MAKING THE SAME OBSERVATIONS OMG
excuse me WHAT DID YOU CALL HIM JUST NOW? AHEM??
(ETA: this is disturbingly high on my list of all-time favorite BnHA moments)
is he allowed? is this allowed?? what is this. this is the childhood nickname that only one person has ever been allowed to use. (and that one person has apparently never been told to stop using it, either, because you know he would have if Kacchan had actually asked. or demanded. and yet he still uses it, exclusively. and somehow I’ve never essayed about this? what have I even been doing with my life. but now is not the time. maybe in an ETA when I’m not so fucking hyped)
(ETA: so I did in fact write a whole big essay about this, and it got so long that I ended up removing it from this already-lengthy post and putting it up as its own separate thing. because it’s definitely something I’ve been meaning to talk about, but it was pretty off-topic.
but anyways, I just wanted to say that if me writing a 1200 word BakuDeku essay out of fucking nowhere doesn’t perfectly sum up my reaction to him being back in the manga, then I don’t know what does. lol)
I don’t know what to get excited about first. the fact that he noticed Kacchan was in fact sulking in the corner being worried but pretending like he wasn’t. the fact that he came over to bother him. or the fact that he just casually called him the nickname, again most likely to bother him, but he didn’t get blasted into oblivion for it so oh my god. does Kacchan even realize that’s just giving him the green light to do it again later
anyway so Bakugou is making a classic grumpy retreat now
YES
and also he has his provisional license course tomorrow too!
Ojiro’s asking if he’s really just going to skulk off without even saying a word to their returning traumatized friends. Ojiro have you even met Kacchan before
and actually Todoroki is now bidding everyone good night as well
and getting the exact same “what are you a grandpa” response from Kaminari to boot. Kaminari is on fucking fire tonight
oh man. this is going to be one of those chapters where I just post and comment about every single panel, huh
you see, I have to post this one because (1) bunny! and (2) Tsuyu isn’t even surprised about Bakugou. they’re all used to him going to bed this early. see, this is exactly the kind of shit I need to make a note of for when I inevitably start to write fic. this kid is early to bed early to rise
it’s literally 8:30 and Kacchan’s in bed, lights off, glaring at the ceiling
and Shouto is glaring at his phone
I swear I wasn’t originally going to post both of those panels. but I just wanted to comment that (a) Bakugou has an OtterBox-style case for his phone (which makes perfect sense, because he probably abuses the poor thing every day and throws it when he gets frustrated and tries to blow it up at times, and honestly he’s probably managed to destroy it once or twice even WITH the case. and I bet he has the special warranty that includes quirk damage. and I bet they regret ever giving it to him), and (b) I’m getting an inkling that whatever reason Shouto had for retiring to his room early, it didn’t actually have anything to do with the next day’s training
someone on tumblr told me that we would be getting Todoroki Family Drama at some point. but I’m pretty sure that’s still like 20 chapters off. but maybe this is early set-up for it? hmmmm
and now panels of the four intern kids lying in bed wide awake thinking angsty thoughts
FYI, that’s Satou’s bedroom with the light still on in the middle of the 5th floor. and below that, on the fourth floor, that room is supposed to be unoccupied lmao. so that is presumably a ghost right there. next to Bakugou’s bedroom
here, I’ll post the layout so you can see
so I’m not sure if Horikoshi maybe just spaced out and moved everyone’s rooms down one from where they’re actually supposed to be, and this is supposed to be Bakugou and Todoroki’s rooms with the lights on. but if we go by our canon reference, Satou is doing some midnight baking and the fourth floor is in fact haunted
anyway, we’re now cutting to the next day and Bakugou and Todoroki are walking to the train station
every sentence Todoroki says ends with dots
is this the arc that’s going to make me ship TodoBaku. it is isn’t it. it’s already happened for Deku, Ochako, and Kirishima, it was only a matter of time before Strawberry Shortcake got in on this too
(ETA: we’re at a solid “I’ll read it if it’s there and the summary intrigues me” level, FYI)
oh my
first of all, I highly doubt that. Bakugou strikes me as being way too much of a type A to ever be late for anything, and Todoroki also has an air of impeccable punctuality about him
and second of all, OH MY GOD
All Might looking spiffy as hell in that tailored suit with his manly satchel. and Present Mic’s out here trying to poke Kacchan in the fucking eye
so Aizawa was leading the course previously, then? he’s the one who supervised whatever insanity led to Shouto’s nose getting broken and the two of them basically looking like they’d been hit by small cars? I guess he’s only a mom when he feels like it huh
(ETA: so when All Might says “leading the group”, what he really means is “accompanying the two kids to and from their lessons for safety purposes.” which makes more sense. and means that contrary to what I just said, not only does Aizawa continue to be a mom, he’s now a goddamn soccer mom on top of everything else.)
OH SHIT I’M BEING BOMBARDED WITH SO MUCH INFORMATION AT ONCE. THIS IS GREAT. I CAN HARDLY KEEP UP
so apparently they needed Aizawa to help with Eri’s quirk! so this presumably means she’s awake? hopefully he’ll be able to help her
and Aizawa made Mic come along to protect All Might, because he cares! that’s right!
(ETA: and also, maybe not a good idea to send two of the League’s known targets and the son of the current number one hero out into the world all nicely grouped together without any backup. yeah, good call Aizawa.)
and Kurogiri was indeed captured!
but Gran’s team suffered some “serious blows” apparently
!! “there was another individual we couldn’t do anything about”
yessss tell us more about this!
oh shit he done fucked them up proper
he was that bad? bad enough that you weren’t sure whether Kurogiri was worth letting him escape? holy shit
oh snap
was this like. an entire mountain that he fucking leveled here? good lord
anyway, so All Might’s telling them to board the bus
Todoroki is acting weeeeeeird you guys
what the fuck is this kid hiding all of a sudden
so now they’re at some building and the kids’ crazy uncles are dropping them off and waving
this is the cutest fucking shit. the boys look so tiny. All Might looks like he just dropped them off at pre-k
OH SHIT
WELL WELL, IF IT ISN’T THE CURRENT NUMBER ONE PIECE OF SHIT
“I wanted to have a proper chat with you” he says, the veins in his eyeballs reaching critical levels
why does he always do this. can’t you ever just have a normal conversation without dramatically cornering someone in a random hallway
Present Mic is all “I’m going to fuck off now, so good luck”
“I’ma go buy some coffee. it’ll probably take about five hours. just to be safe. see you later”
so apparently the text that Shouto got was just his dad telling him he’d be coming to watch his training the next morning
“I hope he doesn’t bump into All Might,” he thinks. Shouto, does that sound like the kind of thing that’s likely to happen. think about you and your life and how it’s generally gone up until this point. exactly
EYYYYYYYYYYYYY
IT’S MUH BOIIIIIIIIIII
OH HUSH. HERE I THOUGHT KATSUKI WAS GOING TO BE THE GRUMPY GRUMP. COME ON NOW
(ETA: and also there are like, eight people in the whole damn class. how exactly were you planning on avoiding him)
and who’s this?
!!!!
HOLY SHIT IS THIS THE REAL CAMIE
holy shit?!
so this means she’s not dead or kidnapped or whatever! well that’s obviously good!
but just. I have so many questions all of a sudden omg. I should just keep reading
apparently she’s never seen Baku and Todo before? wouldn’t she have seen them at one of the previous courses though? I guess maybe they split up into different groups in the previous sessions?
oh hey look at Kacchan asking these important questions for me
oh my god
right, he was in the character page for this volume
but he didn’t make it past the first round! what gives!!
is that why Camie’s here too, though? were they not invited to attend previously, but then the examiners had a change of heart?
once again Kacchan is acting as my proxy here
at this rate we’re going to have more people observing than actually taking the course
I wonder what Actual Camie’s quirk is? and is she also observing or are they allowing her to take the course with them?
do they even realize it wasn’t her who passed the first half? I mean obviously her teachers and classmates must know, but are they just playing along to help her get her license now?
well at any rate, it looks like these kids are ready to throw down
WE SHALL
BONUS:
people who are too low on this poll: Mina, Mr. Compress, Nighteye, Jirou, Tsuyu, and FUCKING MIRIO, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME THOUGH
for real?? 41st place? beaten out by Stain, Overhaul, Endeavor, Seiji, and fucking Mineta??!
I’m sorry, I was going to do more commentary on this, but honestly my brain just kind of quit in outrage. honestly this poll should be ashamed of itself. the best fucking character in the manga and he didn’t even crack the top 40. for fuck’s sake
#bnha#boku no hero academia#bnha 163#todoroki shouto#bakugou katsuki#iida tenya#uraraka ochako#all might#present mic#utsushimi camie#bnha spoilers#mha spoilers#makeste reads bnha#'camie' is the spelling I see more often than 'kemii' so I'm going with that#hopefully she'll be on the next poll since I don't see here on this one#I'm so tempted to go look up the results for the 4th poll right this damn second#but I'm worried it'll only lead to more disappointment#and possibly spoilers too lol#but oh my god#this poll can go choke and die#what an injustice#smdh

Return the Favor by HummusKing ( T | 43,889 | 10/10 )
Instead of Katsuki Bakugou getting kidnapped, Izuku Midoriya risks his life and ends up being taken by the League of Villains. A rescue is ensured, but instead they come face to face with Deku next to All for One, calling him “Sensei”. They discover that Deku’s memories had been altered from the point when Bakugou tells him that if he wants a quirk, he can jump off the school roof and be reborn with one. He believes he did just that, and was reborn with a powerful quirk that rivals Bakugou.
He’d never admit it, but Bakugou had been saved by Deku in more ways than one, so now can he return the favor?

Deku followed Bakugou’s advice and took a swan dive off the roof. Five years later they meet again and Izuku has a peculiar quirk that happens to be the hero’s greatest weakness. (“How does it feel to be quirkless, Kacchan?” AU: Villain!Deku, Bakudeku).
Wearing Our Vintage Misery by PeridotWraith ( E | 1,643+ | 1/? )
Izuku fought of the urge to retch as the stench of smoke and—oh god—his own roasting flesh reached him and reached frantically toward the man.

But Endeavor just stood there, watching him burn.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Back to Reality by menengaur ( M | 46,975+ | 10/? )

[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Always you by KingHugin ( E | 96,612+ | 18/? )

That is until he runs into an old rival who he would rather kill then try to save, unfortunately it does not go the way Katsuki planned. Now trapped in enemy territory Katsuki must learn what it is to be a hero when all the odds are stacked against him.
Maybe he could even save someone along the way.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Cuts Like a Knife by rainbowtourmaline ( T | 20,505+ | 10/? )
“Are you sure you’re not getting nostalgic for the good old days?” His mentor asked as Izuku turned back to look at Katsuki through his binoculars. “It’s never a good idea to dwell on the past my boy.”
“I’m not homesick.” Izuku said with bated breath, his knuckles turning white at how hard he was holding his binoculars. “Just hungry for vengeance and justice.” Or so Izuku believes at the time.
In a world where All Might didn’t say Izuku could become a hero, can Izuku be tempted back to the light side?

When Bakugou goes missing, Deku has to work with the heroes to get him back. Facing an uncertain future, the League of Villains, and the prospect of his mother finding out what he’s become, Deku is in a race against time to save Bakugou before his own mental health completely collapses.

The Long Road Out Of The Dark by DeadDoveExtraordinaire, Raccoonheck ( M | 43,770 | 16/16 )
Deku finally gets the chance to live out his childhood dream of being a hero. At this point, he’d much rather be a villain.
Sequel to Bruises and Broken Glass and Light Through The Cracks
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Call Me... Deku by AnimeFanGirl2223 ( E | 33,523+ | 13/? )
Midoriya had enough of being insulted, being told no, being called quirkless. It was too much and he decided on a much darker path. BakuDeku; Angst to the max.
Or
A lone figure watched from a distance as Bakugo prostrated himself, hidden ominously behind the trunk of a large willow tree. He tilted his head to the side, finding the sight strange, but intriguing all the same. He knew the blonde would stay there for a while longer.
Katsuki always stayed until 8:56 every Friday night. It would seem odd to everyone else, but to those who knew what had happened, it made complete sense. Izuku Midoriya jumped off the roof of his middle school at 6:15 PM on a Friday and was pronounced dead at 8:56 just a week later, his broken body losing the battle against its injuries.
“Deku… the Master is wanting to speak with you.” A voice whispered.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
You shattered me, They saved me by ASLlover23 ( E | 8,748+ | 8/? )
Izuku Midoriya was a quirkless boy but he never let that get in the way of his dreams, even when Kacchan beat him and told him it was impossible to become a hero he never gave up. Until the day his hero, his idol All Might crushed him, he felt something in him break the day All Might told him he could never be a hero without a quirk. Good thing Tomura was there to help pick up the pieces, he’d make All Might regret the day he shattered the quirkless boy.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
brutality runs in our blood by 3rdgymbros ( T | 1,527 | 1/1 )
“New kids to babysit.” Izuku drawls out lazily, dropping a quick kiss onto Bakugou’s mouth. “Play nice with them, won’t you, Kacchan?”
Game of Survival by odasaku (jemtessa) ( T | 11,160+ | 6/? )
“Today marks ten years since elementary school boy, Midoriya Izuku, disappeared.”
10 years ago Katsuki’s childhood friend Midoriya Izuku went missing after school one day, there has been no word on his friend since that day. Not until Katsuki and the rest of Class 1-A with the addition of Class 1-B go on a school trip for training camp in which the two of them are reunited…
the only problem Midoriya Izuku is a villain.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Tied Up With Strings by Penkindisbestspecibus ( M | 19,330+ | 4/?)
The legend of the ‘Red String of Fate’ is such that lovers who are destined to be together are bound by a single red string, and this string will inexorably draw them closer together until they fall in love. A romantic, wishful sort of myth.
Bakugou Katsuki has no idea what it is that seems to bind him to Midoriya Izuku, but if he had to put a name on it, he’d probably call it the ‘Black String of Hate’.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Marked as Claimed by Shadowolven ( E | 15,705+ | 4/? )
His pills weren’t working.
Shit. Fuck!
His pills weren’t working.
But the realization came far too late for Katsuki Bakugou.
[Series]Izuku, Don't listen to Deku by Sleepy_Princess_Jade ( Not Rated | 12,923+ | 1 Work | WIP )
no hell had ever burned so sweet by 3rdgymbros ( T | 1,913 | 1/1 )
“But Kacchan, saving people is what heroes do. And I’m not a hero. Neither are you. We abandoned that title a long time ago, remember?”
Criminal by Aniimone ( M | 22,139 | 20/20 )
Izuku gave up on becoming a hero in middle school. It was after his mom died from an expensive but curable disease that he came to the realization that those who are strong enough to play by the rules are the only ones who can. The rest have to break them just to survive, and quirkless Izuku definitely doesn’t fit into the first category.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
oh, the skies (tumbling from your eyes) by ideation ( E | 6,425 | 1/1 )
Everything is a whirl of sensation and conflicting emotions and words that make both no sense and too much all at once, but despite the overload there is one undeniable truth that sticks, that tastes like bile in the back of his throat and fills his lungs like water until he thinks he’ll never again know what it is to breathe, and it is this: Midoriya Izuku loves him, and this is the result.
[Series] You can turn back time but you can't forget the things you've lost along the way by Aniimone ( T | 26,343+ | 2 Works | WIP )
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence | Major Character Death]
The Past is Long Past Dead by Unoutan ( M | 5,736+ | 1/? )
Bakugou Katsuki hasn’t seen Midoriya Izuku since they were thirteen. Midoriya has been classified as missing ever since, All Might’s public admittance of failure before retiring his cloak to Togata Mirio. Thirteen years later, Pro-Hero Bakugou stumbles upon a familiar face in the Red Light District of Tokyo Nightlight during his patrols…
“D…Deku?”
“Eh? K-Kacch-” Slapping both hands over his mouth, Midoriya Izuku, with the same stupid wide green eyes looked at him.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Walking the Line by StormyChaos, TheatricalPlacenta ( M | 24,024+ | 3/? )
Izuku had been changing, though as it would seem, Katsuki was the only one to notice. It might have had something to do with the fact Izuku never acted differently around anyone but Katsuki, but this year… their senior year, it only seemed to get worse.
Like every mask, when worn constantly, it begins to erode… worn and torn, cracking under the pressure…
Izuku never thought he’d slip, but there he was, his heart walking the fine line between justice and villainy, unsure of just who he was… or what he’d become.
No matter what, one thing was for sure; Katsuki burned deep inside his core.
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
[Series] as we both come undone by Amber_Flicker ( T | 2,692+ | 2 Works | WIP )
Innocence ( E | 3,372+ | 5/? )
He won’t cry. If they saw his tears, they’d call him weak. He isn’t weak. Yet, the tears still fall. Just as he thought, everyone laughs harder. Everyone except Kacchan.
No matter how much he yells that he hates Deku, he doesn’t. He genuinely cares about him, and seeing Deku look like shit is bringing out some weird protective side in him.
[Series]The Wolf by BrightEyesEren for SlendShady(1-3), Star_Princess, FireFaithe(4) ( M&E | 16,549 | 4 Works | Completed )
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence] [Major Character Death]
On the Clock by battle_goats ( M | 1,068 | 1/1 )
His clothing was so nondescript, anyone who didn’t know better would assume the young man was a civilian. But no, he was a villain. Katsuki’s villain. The one he’d created, however unintentional. His Deku.
Breaking Things Into Pieces by MediaMaxine ( T | 2,622+ | 2/? )
As a child, Midoriya Izuku longed for a quirk. He wanted to be a hero. He wanted to save. He wanted to be like All Might.
As a child, Midoriya Izuku got a quirk. A quirk that should’ve helped him be a hero. To his classmates, it made him a villain. He just can’t seem to win with these people can he?
Society wants heroes. His peers see a villain. Kacchan sees Izuku.
Until he disappears that is.
(Formally named Rehabilitation)
Void of Pain by Running_wild829 ( T | 17,920+ | 8/? )
Kidnapped by his own villainous father at the young age of six, raised by villains since then and sent on countless missions filled with murder, Midoriya Izuku is anything but normal. He may be fifteen years old, and have a quirk, but that doesn't make him normal. He's been careful on all his jobs, except this one. When Shigaraki turns him loose to kill the infamous Hero Killer Stain, he gets sloppy and goes down at the hands of a couple of Yuuei kids. Dragged into the police station and waking up to a detective giving him a second chance was the last thing he thought would ever happen in his fucked-up life...
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence]
Heroes are Remembered but Legends Never Die by Star_Crossed_Aliens ( M | 6,653+ | 4/? )
Izuku wasn’t truly ready to hear the words he dreaded so much from the one person he admired the most.
“You can’t become a hero.”
[Graphic Depictions Of Violence] [Major Character Death]
Believe in Me by OwO_all_around ( M | 8,489+ | 8/? )
Because he had no quirk, no one believed in him.
They couldn’t believe in his abilities, his lovely mind, nor his potential.
Instead, they chose to ridicule him, pity him, bully him.
So when All for One tells him that he believed in him. He decided to follow him.
The world never believed he could make an impact before, and now they are all gonna regret that decision.
Especially Katsuki Bakugo.
Note: Midoriya is like evil Batman (Owlman?) in this story (no powers, just super evil and smart)
[Major Character Death]
Let me fix it by doki_for_you ( Not Rated | 2,172+ | 4/? )
“As the owner of those words, you’ll have to bear its weight, Bakugou Katsuki.”
On that day, Midoriya Izuku disappeared. And with his disappearance, Bakugou is forced to bear the weight of his words and actions. Overcome with guilt, he lives day-to-day looking for redemption.
But when Izuku returns as an empty, broken shell of a villain, can Bakugou finally make things right again?
Our Path Set On Stone by MaiaMizuhara ( T | 5,214 | 1/1 )
“What are you watching?”
The green haired boy just barely turned his head towards the direction of the voice, “They are talking about us, check it out.”
The headlines were “The Villain Duo ‘Deku and Ground Zero’ Make an Appearance Again!” The same video clip was being replayed through the whole program; both villains had their backs to the camera and were running away from a hero who was following them.
“Those pathetic asswipes will never get us,” Katsuki commented and smirked.
His partner grinned and turned around, walking away from the screen in the middle of the street.
Nobody notices as they disappear through the mass of oblivious people.
KatsuDeku week Day 2 - Heroes/Villains/Vigilantes

Izuku reveals he has big plans for Katsuki.
Shattered Minds and Lost Chances ( M | 3,070 | 1/1 )
He leaned close to Katsuki’s face, once again only inches away. This close, Katsuki could see the despair in Izuku’s crazed eyes. “Or maybe, I just don’t want you to live in a world where you can become this, like me.”
(Izuku Midoriya disappeared the day of the UA exam, and many months later, after being kidnapped by the Villains’ Alliance, Katsuki Bakugou figures out what happened.)
[Major Character Death]

Series Part 1 of I Saw You In My Dream
Contradiction (Villain Deku) by Purplemerald ( M | 10,656 | 4/4 )
Midoriya Izuku wakes up smiling to see Shigaraki Tomura in his bed. He is a villain. A part of the League. But memories keeps hazing, his head aching and he sees blood in his hands for no reason.
He was always a villain, shut down by the very hero he admired. Right?
Why does he see himself in a UA uniform? Who are these people popping in his dreams? Why is Kacchan, his bully, smiling in his dreams and holding his hands?
"Izuku."
He is a villain. Right?

The Caged Bird by Daiako (Achrya) ( E | 5,863 | 1/1 )
Some people are wound too tight to ever let go of control, even when it comes to their fantasies. Katsuki is one of those people. “I told you.” The demon purred. “I built this just for you. I’ve been watching you, learning everything about you, how your power works, your weaknesses, your strengths. How to keep you contained in there.” He twisted his wrist and a book appeared in his hand, palm sized and leather bound. The demon clutched it to to their chest, eyes starry. “How you sleep, what you like to eat, how to groom your wings and take care of you. I made sure I’d be able to keep you safe and happy, Kacchan.”
Kacchan. The named sparked something in his brain, stilled the hand he was about to thrust through the bars to grab the giggling demon asshole in favor of looking him over again, trying to find something he knew in that soft, shadowed face. “Do I know you?”

At a certain point, Katsuki couldn’t be hallucinating anymore, could he? It was more than just the snippets of dark green hair in a crowd, of fair skin, of catching his laughter in the air and it’d been that way for weeks now--Katsuki looked up to see green eyes beneath an otherwise plain black masquerade mask meeting his, lips splayed into a gentle, kind smile. To see it five years ago would have been ordinary--to see it now was the dead walking again.

“Better luck next time.”
Bnha fan made story.
This is my first time writing a book,I apologize if it’s bad but I will take criticism!
Chapter 1
It all starts off as normal, everything does. The simple life with your parent, wishing to be someone big in a little world one day. Of course, this fame that would soon be the beholders would become a regret. Of course, this is a just another meaningless life that will soon be overthrown by something new, right?
A boy was in his room, looked no older than 15, his back turned to the wall as he stood in a bland room full of boxes. It was rather messy as many things were out that you could barely walk through without tripping on something. It seemed the boy could care less though, he twirled his plumb shoulder length hair hair around his finger as he suddenly looked down with a sigh. “This won’t work, how in the hell am I going to balance my schedule?” He spoke with a voice of slight annoyance, as if his voice wasn’t annoying enough. “I have too much work to do, I gotta cut something out of my schedule…-“ an older woman’s voice quickly cut him off as there was frantic knocking at the door “Tatsuo??? Are you done yet??” The woman barged in unannounced with a rather annoyed look on her face. By instinct, Tatsuo quickly turned around.
“I thought I told you to unpack your things, it’s a mess in here. What are you even doing?” The older woman nagged, of course, the boy simply had to respond or else she’d never be quiet. “It’s- it’s Nothing okay? I was just-“ he didn’t even get the chance to finish before getting cut off. “It’s just what?” He hesitated to say anymore, his… Mother simply scoffed. It seemed she already knew what he was referring to just by looking at the angry and nervous expression on his face. She tried calming down by letting out an annoyed sigh. “Tatsuo, Honey, I understand that you wish to be a hero, everyone has dreams. Yet, you’ve been working yourself a little too hard. Things like school exist and you cannot be focused on a career that you may regret… especially when you have a room with nothing but boxes, get back to unpacking!” She said in a more calmer, yet still annoyed tone as she caressed her plumb colored hair with her hands, Tatsuo’s expression became a little sad, as if he was discouraged. He chose not to say a word and simply nod his head as if he was agreeing to what his mother was saying. The mother started to smile, thinking Tatsuo was finally coming to his senses as a young teenager. “Good, you should be done unpacking by dinner. Love you, honey.” She smiled and walked out of his bedroom, acting as if nothing happened. Tatsuo on the other hand, seemed discouraged, as if he was just waiting for a miracle to happen in his life while him and his bedroom was in shambles.
“A miracle in my life would honestly be amazing. My life was simply a cycle of never ending nagging. I just wanted something new to come out of this, anything just to be side by side with the greatest heroes of all time. It would truly be a dream come true for me…”
“What do you mean you’re quitting?!” Shouting an older, more overweight man, having such a shocked expression on his face as he scratched his balding head. “Well, I got better things to do than to be here. I’m not spending most of my life in this restaurant when I could become someone big if I just make the right decisions. I’m sorry but I gotta do this.” Said Tatsuo with a rather pleading look on his face. He had thought about doing this for a while now, to clear up his schedule for training to become a hero. It was a rather hard decision considering the fact this was his only source of income, but it was something he was willing to do for the sake of his dream job. The older man laid back in his chair and sighed, looking a little stressed. “You better know what you’re doing, if you come running back to me when all else fails, I’ll laugh!” The man joked, trying to lighten up the mood. “Of course, you’ll need to sign a few things before you may go on your way, hope you brought a pen, because I left all of mine at home.” Tatsuo lifted up his backpack on the desk. “Oh yeah, I think I have on in here. Gimme a sec!” In the end, Tatsuo walked out in pride as he was finally making the first steps to reach his goal. He walked down busy street with his back straight and his head up high. He felt unstoppable, as if nothing could get in his way. Of course, with such pride, something unexpected is always bound to happen right around the corner. His bright yellow eyes were barely fixated on what was going on infront of him. He was simply in his own little world.
Before he could even look down from the sky to see what was ahead of him, something brown and fluffy hit hid face. Not something that smelt horrible, thank god. He would be thankful if strands of hair didn’t get into his eyes. “Gah! What the hell?!” Tatsuo shouted, not angrily, more shocked. he hunched his back over to rub his eyes. Suddenly, a calm, deep, female voice spoke. “Oh my, I’m terribly sorry. I didn’t mean to hit you with my hair” she spoke. It took a minute for Tatsuo to reply. But with irritated eyes and blurred vision, he looked up at her, panting dramatically. “It- it’s fine, miss.” from Tatsuo’s vision, it was rather hard to tell what the lady looked like. All he could make out from her was dark brown hair up in two ponytails and dark skin. The girl then said in a rather quiet tone “oh dear, let me help you up…” she reached her hand out and helped him so he wasn’t helplessly bent over on the side walk. “Thank you…” Tatsuo muttered out in a bit of pain. Rubbing his watered eyes once more so he could see better, this time it worked. He could see that she did in fact have dark brown ponytails, going down all the way to her mid back area. She had darker skin, although, it appeared rather dull at the moment. Tatsuo was looking at every detail for a few seconds, it got a little awkward. “A-Ahem!” The girl cleared her throat. Showing obvious discomfort. Tatsuo noticed quickly. “Shit, I’m sorry! I was just-“ instead of being rather cross with the boy, the girl instead let out a nervous chuckle. “Its fine, I simply don’t enjoy people staring at me for too long.”
The girl then tilted her head, as she was about to ask a question. “Say, you seemed rather happy before my hair decided to ruin that. What for?” She asked out of curiosity. Trying to start a conversation with Tatsuo whom looked close to her age. “Oh, it’s nothing important, just heading back home… uh… Ponytails?” He gave the girl a nickname considering the fact he had no idea what her real name was. The girl chuckled at that. “My name is Dokuro. Dokuro Emiko. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Tatsuo nodded. “That’s… a nice name! I’m Nobiru Tatsuo.” Tatsuo then proceeded to crack a smile. “Hey, listen ponytails, I kinda need to get going. I’ll see you around I hope!” He then ran off, crossing a side walk, leaving the girl there by herself. “…It’s Dokuro!” She shouted to him, but he was already gone.
“It was so damn hard giving up the things I worked hard to get. It was so worth it to me when I was younger. Those were the days I was filled with determination. Not letting the people around me bring me down… wish I could turn back time so I wouldn’t have to tell a story about trusting no one.”
“Here we go… I can do this!” Said the young Tatsuo on his phone, setting up a timer. He was wearing casual sports attire. He was in his now unpacked room, sitting on the floor. “I can do this… I will do this!” He said to to himself. Looking down at the floor as he tried reasuring himself that everything would go as planned. He looked down at his arm, taking a deep breath as his entire arm started to stretch like elastic. In a world full of unnatural quirks, this one was fairly common. Not very special but it can be good for hero work. he tried stretching further, not being able to stretch more than a foot for most of his life. It would be difficult, but the lengths this boy was willing to go were unimaginable. Literally. He stretched and stretched until his elongated arm fell to the floor. Making a little ’thud’. It would be a miracle if his mother didn’t hear that. But she most likely did. It was only a matter of time before that woman came upstair to scold him. He sighed, his arm unusually tired. but he wasn’t stopping there. He tried picking something up with his deformed, shaken arm. Like his phone that was in his lap. He slowly picked it up, his arm shaking like crazy as he raised it up, trying to put it on a shelf of books, of course failing and dropping it. “Shit!” He nearly yelled. His phone had to be cracked now. before he could even check if miracles exist, he heard his mother yell from downstairs. “Tatsuo, what are you doing up there?! I can’t even work properly with how loud you’re being!”
Tatsuo panicked. In a hurry, he quite obviously tried playing it off as he simply fell. “It’s nothing Mom! I just fell!” Of course, his mother wasn’t fooled so easily. “Tatsuo, it wasn’t a fall and you know it. Stop trying to train to be a hero, it’s just not gonna happen!” From this, Tatsuo was rather upset by what his mother said, as she was discouraging him from his dreams, he un-extended his arm, making it go back to normal “okay… Sorry mom!” He shouted for the last time before going to his bed to lie down and think. He was unsure if he should listen to his mother and quit this fantasy already, or continue doing what genuinely makes him happy. He turned to his side and closed his eyes with a frown on his face, saying to himself…
“Better luck next time I guess…”

Incineration (KHR/BNHA)
This was the fic I was talking about here and here. Yes, finally, the Hisashi-centric crossover has arrived.
I finished this while hungry and sleepy, so pardon any incoherence regarding the plot. I might rewrite/add some things. Maybe. Not guaranteed.
Summary: Midoriya Hisashi was pretty sure his quirk was breathing fire, so why does he keep seeing things no one else could?
Hisashi didn't even notice it.
He was simply walking home when an old lady approached him. Silver hair from old age was put into a bun, whilst a wrinkled face with twinkling gray eyes and a kind smile greeted him. She had a tiny star-shaped mark on the left side of her bottom lip. Much to his distaste, she wore a bright, gaudy, sequined pink dress.
"Oh, Hisashi, where have you been?" She asked. "Your mother's been looking for you."
"My mother?" Who is this lady? The young man was slightly weirded out. This old woman straight up came to him without warning, telling him about his mom. He didn't even know her, so why was she acting so unreserved towards him?
"Yes, she's waiting for you. Her boss dismissed them early today," The old lady then brought out something from her equally bright pink purse. "I just bought some snacks. Here, have some. I'm sure you're pretty hungry from baseball practice, right?"
As if on cue, his stomach grumbled. Hisashi blushed lightly as the old woman tittered. Hesitantly, he slowly reached for the umaibo, trying to gauge the lady's reaction. Seeing no malice in her expression, he took the snack and pocketed it. "I'll eat it at home. Thanks."
She waved at him. "Well, I've got to go to the market now. Tell your mother I might take long; these old bones don't work the way they used to, you know?"
He nodded. "Right."
She was highly suspicious, but she didn't seem to have any ulterior motives.
What a weird old lady.
Once he got home, Hisashi indeed saw his mother, like the old lady said; which was unusual considering that she always went home at god awful hours in the evening due to her work. "Oh, you're home. Hey," He greeted.
"Hey, sport," She greeted back. "My boss had to cancel today's work because of an emergency, so here I am."
He then decided to ask his mother about the overly-friendly woman. "Hey, mom, do you know any old ladies in the neighborhood?" Because as far as he knew, she was too busy to make friends with the neighbors because of work.
His mother furrowed his eyebrows, gray eyes narrowing in suspicion. He vaguely noted that she and the old woman had similar eye colors. "No, I don't. Why'd you ask?"
"I just met this old lady saying that you're already home and that you were waiting for me?" He rubbed the back of his head. "She also said to tell you she'd take long on her trip to the market."
She pursed her lips. "No, I don't. I wasn't expecting a guest and your father won't come back from his business trip until next week so I know he didn't invite anyone, either. What does she look like?"
Hisashi felt his stomach drop at the implications. Did they have a stalker? "Um, she's old and wore this really ugly dress? Wrinkly face, too." What was the most memorable thing about her face? He crossed his arms in thought before snapping his fingers. Oh, right. He pointed at the bottommost part of his face. "And she had this tiny mark at the side of her mouth? It was weird. She was weird."
His mother rapidly paled as he described the lady. With shaky hands, she grasped her son's. "Dear, does this lady have gray eyes like me?"
"Oh, right. She does." It's not just the color – they have the same shade of eyes, too.
Her grip on his hands tightened. "And is the mark on her face... star-shaped?"
Hisashi nodded vigorously. So his mother did know this person. What a relief! They don't have a stalker, after all. "Yeah! I've never seen anyone with a face mark like that. Is it a tattoo or something?"
Hisashi yelped as she released his hands and slowly skidded to the floor. Her face was contorted in shock and blank gray eyes stared downwards, hands firmly curled into fists. In a split second, his mom had gone from "I sense a suspicious person" into a completely lifeless mess.
Suffice to say, he panicked. "Mom! Mom, what's wrong?!" Hisashi grabbed her and repeatedly shook her shoulders. She didn't respond. "Hey, listen to me! Say something!"
It wasn't until after a few more seconds that his mother snapped out of her stupor and recomposed herself. In an instant, she wrapped her arms around him into a tense embrace. His mother began to cry.
"She... even now, she's still watching over us..."
"Who is she, mom? Why are you so upset?"
His mother just continued to hug him for another minute or two before letting go. Wiping her tears, she gave him a melancholic smile.
Hisashi felt a shiver down his spine when she finally answered him.
"That was your grandmother. She passed away long before you were even born."
The second time it happened, Hisashi remained none the wiser until after the encounter.
He was visiting a bookstore for his school project. They were tasked to make a book report comparing light novels to your regular novels. Unfortunately, neither the school nor the local library had a light novel section; the closest thing was an entire shelf assigned to foreign comic books and manga.
Honestly, he didn't have high hopes for his project. Most of the light novels the bookstore had were of the isekai genre, wherein the protagonist is from the modern world who suddenly gets transported or reincarnated into a fantasy world. However, with the emergence of quirks and the rise of the hero system, this certain genre has become stagnant. Rarely did such light novels not include a protagonist with a useless quirk or a quirkless person altogether.
It wasn't something he was particularly interested in, because most of those light novels were wish-fulfillment given literary form. But he would be lying if he wasn't intrigued by the idea of alternate dimensions- that's kinda cool.
He grumbled as he spied another row dedicated only to harem and loli-centric works. Is this really all they have? The most different one he found was something about gore and magical girls, but it was so old and worn out that he couldn't even read the kanji anymore.
He then felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Excuse me, young man. Do you know where the manager's office is?" It was a girl around a few years older than him, maybe in university or something. He spotted the book held in her other hand. "The cashier is missing and I didn't see anyone else, so..."
Hisashi inwardly groaned. This always happened. The owner was nice and accommodating, but he kept on hiring slackers who wouldn't do their jobs properly. Might as well call the old man. I should ask if he has other light novels, too.
He beckoned at her to follow. They encircled around the shelves at the back before stopping in front of a metal door. He knocked and called out to the owner, "Hey, old man. It's Hisashi! The clerk's gone again and you have a customer to attend to!"
"Will be right there in a jiffy, sonny! Just let me– oof!" They heard a loud crash from the other side. The teen winced. That sounded like it hurts a lot.
"Does this happen often?" She meekly inquired. He simply closed his eyes and nodded.
He then knocked again. "You okay in there?"
"I'm fine. Nothing's broken this time, too, so it's all good!"
"You should really be more careful! What if you bang your head or something?"
"I've been doing these for decades, boy. If I was accident-prone, I would have been long dead by now." The door swung open as the owner peered from his room. "So what did you want again?"
Hisashi gestured to the girl behind him. "You have a customer. She wants to pay but your cashier's off to who knows where."
The owner scratched his head, confusion evident in his features. "Who're you talking about? There's no one there." The teen's eyes widened before he turned around. Indeed, the girl was missing. "You sure you didn't hallucinate or something, boy?"
"B-But she was just here a-a-and she was even going to buy a dictionary or something–!"
The old man simply patted him on the back. "You gotta get a proper amount of sleep. I know you're a baseball nut and all, but that's not an excuse to skip out on rest."
"No, seriously, she was here! She even talked to me while I was knocking on your door! I'm not lying!"
"Then she must've left when you weren't looking."
Later that day, the owner asked his cashier who was apparently lounging in another area of the store if he had seen anyone. The employee denied it, saying that other than Hisashi, no one else came that hour. It was why he decided to read some manga to cure his boredom.
Hisashi's blood ran cold when they reviewed the security cameras. All this time, he had been alone and was talking to thin air.
What the hell is going on?
This continued for more encounters. In some cases, he would immediately realize that he was seeing things no one else could. In others, he never noticed that he was talking with someone who didn't exist until afterwards. Not to mention that his surroundings felt like they were burning him during these encounters.
Frankly, it was creepy, and it was taking a toll on him. He was getting stressed out real fast.
If no one else perceive them, Hisashi simply concluded that he must be seeing ghosts. He was pretty sure that breathing fire was his quirk, so why was this happening to him? He even went to a quirk specialist who told him that his ability didn't change. His friends were starting to worry. His parents were starting to worry. He was starting to worry.
Fire breathing definitely had nothing to do with seeing things so what's wrong with him?
Hisashi didn't understand.
To make matters worse, he began to see them everywhere – at school, during baseball practice in the field, out in the streets, and other places he went to. It even escalated to the point that he was hallucinating places now.
Sometimes, he'd enter an establishment to buy something and subsequently realizing it's not the same store. At times, when people ask him for directions, he'd point towards a specific building as a landmark and people would end up confused because they're not seeing what he can.
This entire mess was frustrating him.
He met a peculiar guy.
Initially, he merely saw him around the vicinity. Sometimes, it was when he was hanging out with his friends. Sometimes, it was on his way home. In other times, it was during his errand runs. Hisashi thought that he must be a new neighbor, but after asking his mother and the other residents, they didn't know anything about a mover.
Surely, a boy around his age with bright green hair would be eye-catching, right?
Not.
No one knew where he came from. Hisashi presumed that he was a ghost, but he was too corporeal to be one, nor did he try to communicate with him like the other ghosts.
Then who was he?
It didn't take long before he encountered the green-haired kid properly.
It was during his walk in the beach park when the other appeared out of nowhere. Startled, Hisashi tripped over his own feet and fell face first to the ground. The other helped him up and dusted sand off his clothes, encircling him. Satisfied with what he saw, he clasped Hisashi's shoulder.
"So you're the one," The green-haired kid said. "I wasn't sure because you weren't reacting at all. But then, you were always around whenever I appeared."
Hisashi was taken aback by his sudden approach. "I'm the what?"
He smiled as if inwardly laughing at a joke. "The chosen of this world, silly!"
The teen scratched his head. What the hell was this guy talking about? Was this guy some sort of chuunibyou? "Um, 'chosen'? What do you mean?" Perhaps insane?
"Figures you wouldn't notice anything. This is a world of superpowers, after all." The green-haired teen huffed and crossed his arms. "Tell me, have you been seeing weird things lately?"
That was spot-on! Hisashi whipped his head to meet the other's eyes and saw his smile widening. "H-How did you–"
"That's because I'm the same as you. We see things that we aren't meant to see." He began to pace around with his hands behind his back. "While everyone else is limited to the world we live in, we are different. We see beyond that; beyond our own existence."
The green-haired teen stopped in front of him, with the glares of the sun shining from behind. It made his hair shine like a halo and his entire body ethereal. Hisashi felt as if he was staring at something otherworldly.
"What do you know about parallel worlds?"
Haku was his name.
He claimed to be from another world, and that he had been trying to contact Hisashi for a long time now. In his world, there were no quirks – instead, there were Dying Will Flames, the manifestation of a person's will and determination.
According to his new friend, there are a limitless number of worlds that exist, and each world has an infinite amount of parallels. However, one thing that doesn't change in every world are the three absolute powers: the power to connect to the past, the power to perceive the present, and the power to predict the future.
For each world, there is one person who possesses an absolute power. He, Haku, and countless others were born with the ability to perceive the present; the power to see and occasionally, cross parallel worlds. The people and places that don't exist were indeed from parallel worlds. His ability had awakened for the first time and since he's never used it before, it was out of his control.
(All of this sounded so familiar, though. It's as if he's experienced this before.)
"Why are you helping me?"
"Because I had no one to help me when I was in your shoes." Haku looked pensive, as if remembering a particularly bad memory. "Not to mention that you can somehow mingle with people from parallel worlds without any prior training. I don't know how you did it, but it should be impossible to interact with others without any sort of conduit to channel your powers."
Hisashi pointed at him with a disgruntled face. "But aren't you crossing over yourself?"
"I'm not. You can only see me because I'm projecting myself to you, but if you want to be technical about it, we're communicating via telepathy."
T-Telepathy? "I thought people didn't have quirks there. Or is this an ability of your 'Flames'?" He said with matching air quotes. Haku made a vague gesture with his hand. "We may not have quirks, but we do have a superior technology."
Haku was a good friend.
He was a generous person who genuinely wanted to assist him, he could tell that much. He was truly grateful to the other teen that he was willing to go out on a limb for a someone he barely knew. Haku taught him how to control his powers so he wouldn’t keep confusing his world and another. He taught him how to regulate the visions so they would stop showing up randomly and interrupt his daily life.
(Oh, he couldn’t completely put a lid on it, but he was able to manage with what meager control he had over it.)
Because they were in similar positions, both were instantly able to relate to one another. They promptly clicked, like two pieces of a puzzle.
It was why Hisashi found it easy to open up to him. The green-haired boy served as his confidant throughout the years. He told him stories about his daily routine – what he did in his school, what he wanted to do with his life. He even went on to ask him for dating advice, and eventually, ideas on what to name his own child and how to be a proper parent.
But sometimes, when the other thought he wasn't looking, he saw something else.
Was Haku helping him only because he was lonely?
Hisashi finally recalled why his current experiences struck a chord within him.
This all happened, even back when he was still a kid; back before he even received his quirk.
Like any other child, Hisashi wanted to be a hero. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to have a chance to chase their dreams. Even though they live in a superhuman society, his family didn't have anything extraordinary. Both of his parents were quirkless, so were all their relatives before them – a rare phenomenon in this day and age.
Suffice to say, he had resigned himself to a mundane life ahead of him.
He went to an unremarkable school. He got mediocre grades. He didn't have an exceptional talent or boasted an impressive physical ability. He was just... there. Ask anyone and they'll give the same answer: that he was not someone meant for greatness, but a person meant for anonymity.
He would live as an ordinary person and die as one.
But all of a sudden, something different happened.
He had a peculiar dream filled with dread and weariness. There was nothing but darkness around him and he was all alone. In a flash of light, inexplicable warmth enveloped him as a figure gave him a gentle smile. Just as he was about to reach for this person, he woke up with his arm stretched towards the ceiling.
Hisashi felt the same warmth lingering in his room.
For the next few days, he would have the same dream. It wasn't anything bad, so the young boy did not tell anyone about them.
Not long after, he started to suffer from random hot flashes and nausea. Everything was spinning and he could barely stay conscious. He began to hallucinate, as well. Wherever he looked, his surroundings constantly changed and the people never noticed any difference, so he thought that he was simply ill or fatigued. However, Hisashi didn't want to trouble his parents in case it was just a false alarm.
It wasn't until he saw a bizarrely-dressed man that he admits to himself that there might be something wrong with him.
While he was walking home with his friends, he spotted said man across the street. He donned a mask and a trench coat. He also wore a checker-patterned iron hat with matching gloves. The eeriest part of him was the checker pattern on his own face. The teen scratched his head in puzzlement. Is he a hero or something?
Hisashi has never seen anyone like him before.
He nudges an elbow to his friend and gestures in the man's direction. "Hey, do you think that guy's a hero?"
"Hah, what are you talking about? No one's there."
Hisashi blinked and stared back at the other side. The man was still standing across the street. "Um, he's... just standing there? Don't you guys see him?"
His other shook his head in disagreement. "Man, we knew you weren't feeling well, but if you're starting to see things then maybe we should hurry home so you can rest."
"But–" He was about to add more, when he noted their concerned expressions. The teen sighed in exasperation, yet reluctantly backed down. No use arguing when he knew they were only worried for him.
As they walked away, Hisashi stuck his hands in his pockets and huffed. He was so sure that the man was real – there's no way he could be deluding himself! Then again, he briefly glanced at his friends who saw nothing, maybe I'm so tired that I'm imagining things.
He nodded at himself. Yeah, maybe they're right. I haven't had a decent night of sleep recently anyway.
Making up his mind, he snuck one last peek at the bizarre man again to make sure that the other really is not there. His eyes widened when the man smiled and waved at him.
Hisashi was officially spooked.
He started to lose sleep and eat less, neglecting to take proper care of himself. His cheeks began to sink and his eyes darkened. His previously healthy complexion turned pallor. He dozed off at random intervals. It wasn't until he collapsed that his parents found out and sent him to the hospital.
A week's worth of rest and medicine helped him recover, but they sent him to the therapists after confessing he'd been hallucinating.
None of the therapists could figure it out – "There should be nothing wrong with young Hisashi, yet he's still seeing things that aren't there." – and the counselors were of no assistance, either.
"Don't worry, Hisashi. I'm sure that there's someone who can help you," His mother said, trying to console him after another failed session with a new psychiatrist. Her pats on his back were comforting, yet he still felt awful for his current situation and all the trouble he was making them go through.
"...Do you think it could be his quirk?" His father whispered, features darkened and discouraged. Hisashi wasn't blind to how they were starting to look like him. His parents were stressed out by his predicament, too.
"That's impossible!" She slammed her fist on the table. Just like his father, she was equally burdened with the mysterious ailment of her son. Her hair was unkempt and her eyes dry from exhaustion. "We're both quirkless and our son has always been the same for a long time now."
His father snapped, "I'm not deluding myself that he could actually have a quirk, but there's nothing else we can think of. There's nothing wrong with trying!"
And with that, he was brought to the local quirk specialist.
"You should celebrate. Your son doesn't have an extra joint. Theoretically, this means he can develop a quirk," The doctor explained, pointing at an x-ray; particularly, at Hisashi's toes. "You are both quirkless, correct? It isn't unheard of for first generation quirk users to be late bloomers or to have dormant abilities."
"H-How is this possible, doctor?" Hisashi's mother exclaimed, with both his father and Hisashi himself nodding in agreement.
"It's not an absolute that quirkless people can't give birth to a new quirk. After all, the original quirk users did come from powerless families. There's really no guarantee on whether a child would have a special ability or not." The doctor was writing down something on his clipboard.
Hisashi wasn't paying attention to the man anymore. All he could focus on was the fact he has a quirk, after years of thinking he didn't have one.
"Since your son has been suffering from bouts of feverish heat, I believe that this is the reason for his hallucinations." The doctor laid an assuring hand on his shoulder, breaking his train of thoughts. "Young Hisashi will most likely have a fire or temperature-based ability."
True to the doctor's prediction, a few days later, Hisashi accidentally set a tree on fire – fire breath, the specialists inferred. His parents and friends celebrated the fact that he unlocked his special ability and he, too, hoped that it was the end of his problems.
It was.
After he continuously used his fire to stop himself from overheating, the dreams were gone and the world didn't feel like it was set on fire anymore.
Despite that, something was nagging at the back of his mind - that everyone was wrong, and that there's something more to it than just a quirk.
But if they stopped once, what brought it all back to the surface?
He confided in Haku, and the green-haired male didn't know the cause, either. Haku was surprised to hear that he could tap into this power as a child, when the other only awakened his in his pre-adolescent age.
Hisashi couldn't help but feel antsy at not knowing why. It simply remained a mystery. No matter what he or Haku did, they couldn’t figure it out. The issue began to gnaw away on his mind.
There was something deeply unnerving about it, like a calm before the storm.
Even then, the world goes on without a hitch.
Not long after, things went down the drain.
Hisashi tried to do his best as a father even with his current dilemma chipping down on his psyche. He still went to work diligently. He spent time with his wife and son. He did his best to be a pillar of support to the people around him.
However, regardless of his efforts to bury it inside, it stressed him out. And when he was stressed out, he lost what little control he had over his powers. Images of people’s lives from various worlds bled into his daily life. His vision constantly shifted between looking at the world he lived in and a parallel one. He even had a hard time discerning who was speaking due to the voices from the other worlds.
With the intense amount of vision, he was having difficulty in identifying which was his own world.
He felt like he was experiencing his childhood all over again, only ten times worse.
Hisashi saw death everywhere in the streets and flames burned as far as the eye could see; and even in his dreams, they plagued his mind. In all the worlds he had seen, Hisashi only encountered desolation. He fretted on the current state of the parallel existences.
What was happening to the worlds. Why was every world in the brink of destruction?
To make it more horrifying, it wasn’t limited to just seeing now. Sometimes, he could feel their emotions and physical reactions. Hisashi shuddered at the lingering sensation of his skin being peeled off, or being shot in the chest. Indescribable heat pooled in his body with each world he witnessed.
He suffered from sleepless nights in a poor attempt to stop himself from seeing them, but he ends up dozing off due to exhaustion. In addition to that, he ran himself ragged in regulating his body heat by overusing his quirk.
Haku was no help, either. His green-haired friend didn’t have any idea, simply that no matter who he tried to contact, everyone was either in the same position or unavailable. He often talked to Hisashi to distract him from seeing the other worlds, but it wasn’t enough.
Inko asked him countless times what was troubling him, but he waved her worries off. He tried his best to spend time with his family and enjoy life as he used to, but it was hard to focus when he was drowning from seeing the parallel worlds and felt like he was being incinerated to his very core.
Much to his dismay, he and Inko began to argue non-stop.
“Every moment we do nothing but fight! I think we need some time for ourselves!”
“Oh, so you need more time? What about this family, huh? What about our son? He needs us now more than ever!”
“I know that, but there’s nothing we can do for him; not when he’s like this!”
“So this is about Izuku being quirkless? And here I’d thought you’d accept him. Just because you received a quirk unlike your parents, you act like he isn’t even worth your time!”
“Like you’re any better. I saw it – you were disappointed when he didn’t get one!”
Because he was pouring so much of his time in this issue, Hisashi inadvertently neglected them both to the point that they barely talked in their home anymore; and when he did, he merely snapped irritably at his family. His stress was affecting them, too. There wasn't a day that they weren't fighting.
Izuku, his poor son who did not deserve any of their burdens, suffered the most from the rift in their family. Not only was he being bullied at school after he was proclaimed quirkless (which Hisashi wasn't really surprised to hear), he came home to his parents arguing on the pettiest things.
Neither he nor his wife were blind to his predicament, but no amount of prodding could make him talk.
Hisashi could only bury his face into his hands as he lamented on the fact that their family was gradually tearing itself apart.
“It’s just too much for me to handle. What do you think I should do?”
“I think you should come with me.”
Hisashi snapped his gaze to his friend. The green-haired male merely smiled benignly at him as if he hadn’t dropped a bomb on his lap. Come… with him? Sure, crossing over worlds was possible, but Haku himself said it rarely happened. “What do you mean?”
“You said it yourself, didn’t you? You need time away from all of this – your family, your work… everything on top of the problem with the worlds. Out of sight, out of mind.” Haku explained. “Unfortunately, ignoring the parallel worlds is out of the question. It simply can’t be done. Instead, you’ll keep away from your current life. Think of it like a vacation of sorts.”
A break, huh.
He snapped out of his reverie when Haku placed something metallic in his hands. How did–
Hisashi’s eyebrows rose at this new development – they weren’t able to physically interact before. Haku had a proud grin on his face when he spotted the other’s perplexed expression. “Amazing, isn’t it? Technology in my world has developed so much that we can do this now. It’s how I’m going to bring you with me.”
“This ring is advanced technology?”
“Yes!”
Hisashi inspected the ring. Other than the unique design, it didn’t look anything special. It was silver, with folded metallic wings. In the center of the wings was a green gem; it emitted a few sparks when he touched it. He's never seen anything like it. It gave him an eerie feeling and made him gravitate towards it at the same time.
“What is it?”
“It’s what we call a Mare ring. It can amplify our powers to a certain degree. With that ring, you can cross over to my world.”
The jewel glittered under the sun.
It was quite gaudy in his opinion, but the gem was beautiful enough, he supposed. “What am I supposed to do? Wear it? Then what?”
“That’s it.”
“That’s it?!”
He made a vague gesture with his hands at Hisashi’s incredulous response. He looks like he was holding back laughter. He probably was, the cheeky bastard.
“What do you think? Want to come with me? It’s not like you’re not coming back.” Hisashi hesitated. Haku tapped his cheek in wonder before snapping his fingers. “How about this – we can do a test run! Spend the rest of the day in my world. Once you’ve reached a decision, you can either stay or go home.”
The urge to wear the ring tugged at his heart.
“What do you say?”
“…I’ll do it.”
Haku’s smile widened.
The world exploded into flames.
Images of people flashed through his eyes. Hisashi witnessed events worth of trillion of peoples' lives all at once, maybe even more. The man clutched his head as his vision jumped from person to person, world to world, as the overwhelming amount of information slowly overloaded his mind.
Hisashi only continued to helplessly claw at his head. It was too much for him to handle. An infinite amount of knowledge crammed into his head in one go was too severe. He vaguely heard someone screaming in the background.
Somebody make it stop.
Make it stop!
Haku simply watched him burn.
After the flames subsided, all that's left in Hisashi's place was the ring, with orange flames flickering and green sparks crackling.
The green-haired man's smile faltered. After he picked up the fallen ring, he tutted in annoyance.
"Ah, it's too bad he burnt out before I could finish the transfer. I guess the world can't handle two of the same person physically existing at the same time in the same place." He sighed. “And after investing so much time on him, too. But you know…”
He gazed at the sky.
“I wouldn’t have figured out the full extent of our powers if it weren’t for you or Sho-chan, so really, I am grateful for your efforts. Thank you for being my friend for what little time we had, and for the valuable data.”
His hands clenched around the small trinket.
"Don't worry, Hisashi. Haku will take good care of you. As long as your will is engraved in the Mare ring, I can extract it whenever I want."
His green hair turned white. Purple eyes twinkled in mischief as his smile turned malicious.
"And this time, you can be my ghostly friend."
So if you didn’t understand... Hisashi is Ghost lol.
Okay, I remarked about Haku/Byakuran’s loneliness. There’s that chapter in KHR where Byakuran was isolated and Yuni was his only confidant at the time. Despite the initial megalomania, he struck me as a lonely person; someone who didn’t have much in common with anyone.
(I believe that buried deep down, was a boy living in solitude due to his awareness about existences. This part of Byakuran was what Hisashi saw.)
Then Shoichi fucked up with the time travelling and Byakuran’s descent started.
The point wherein Hisashi first awakened his abilities in childhood was due to Checkerface showing himself. Why he was there? I believe that Checkerface always knows who the next bearer of the Tri-ni-sette artifacts were, and he checks on them. In the BNHA world, the Mare holder is supposed to be Hisashi, Byakuran’s parallel self.
(Also, note that I never described what Izuku’s father looks like. He’s supposed to look similar to Byakuran.)
The next instance that the ability emerged was due to Byakuran awakening his own ability. Remember that all parallel worlds are connected in some way. I imagine that because he unlocked his powers and tried to project himself over countless other worlds, he jumpstarted the development of those Byakurans, too. This was the case for Hisashi.
So Hisashi trusts Byakuran because they’re technically the same person.

BnHA Chapter 007: Costumes and Comforting White Rice
Previously on BnHA: Aizawa had everyone do fitness tests. Turns out superpowered children are very talented. Deku broke his finger.
Today on BnHA: COSTUMES. AND A GUY NAMED LUNCH RUSH
Notes: As always, all comments not prefaced by an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 11 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.
so the title is “costume change”, ooh I’m intrigued
All Might is helpfully rehashing the shit that just went down in the last chapter in case we missed it or weren’t paying attention
basically “Deku fucked up his finger but it was actually somehow the coolest thing ever”
right away Izuku is still crying his gritted-teeth pain!tears, so the unbroken streak continues!
aw Ocha is really happy that he did well and now won’t get expelled
I think Bakugou is broken
[waves a hand in front of his face] you okay there pal. deep breaths. it’s going to be all right
and now he’s fucking launching himself at Deku, presumably with the intent to beat the living shit out of him, oh dear
but teacher’s not having that shit
OH MY GOD AN ACTUAL EXPLANATION FOR THE MAGIC SCARF
YEEES THIS IS HOW WE DO THINGS IN GROWN-UP MANGA! WE EXPLAIN OUR PLOT HOLES LIKE ADULTS
THIS IS SUCH A FUCKING RUSH GUYS
also these panels are hilarious
voop
god bless, the logical explanations for everything just keep on coming. now EH is explaining that the reason he always looks so fucking shake-and-baked is because he has to maintain eye contact in order for his powers to work. I love this, it explains so much. the goggles, the eye drops, the creepy intense staring. and it’s such a good handicap for what would otherwise be an insanely OP quirk
just. thank you jesus. thank you oprah winfrey. thank you tom cruise
do you know, so far I haven’t had a single plot thing to complain about in this entire manga series. (except maybe the whole “surrounding community somehow doesn’t notice the beach cleanup happening right under their noses for ten entire months” thing.) can they possibly keep this up?
“is your finger okay?” “yeah.” NO
HGUMNANAA A FLASHBACKKKKKK A BAKUDEKU FLASHBACK. HOLD ME. I NEED TO SIT DOWN
they’re so cute they’re so fucking cute. Izuku following him around fanboying about quirks. Baku saying Deku’s probably won’t be as cool as his. trampsing along through the woods catching bugs. using the nicknames
and now Baku is FREAKING THE FUCK OUT because he’s been the special one all this time and now Izu finally has a quirk too. like, he seems pissed off, but also strangely threatened. like he’s really nervous that Deku might all of a sudden outshine him. once again, I am speculating if there are possibly secret self-esteem issues. I know it’s too early to be theorizing and I’m just going to look like an idiot but I CAN’T HELP IT. Deku is so good and pure and kind and smart, like he has everything going for him, but because he didn’t have a quirk, Bakugou could always rest assured that he was still better! but now DEKU HAS A FUCKING QUIRK. that’s like the ONE thing he solidly had on him and now the gap is narrowing by the minute. hmm. hmmmmmmmmm
disclaimer, he’s probably just an asshole and I’m projecting character development onto him that doesn’t exist sob I know
BUT MAYBE NOT?????
anyway we’ve apparently seen all we needed to see of these tests, because Deku sums up the rest of it in a couple of summary bubbles. “after this we finished up and I hung in there but it sucked”
yay now the results. which sad son of a bitch gets kicked out I wonder. it’s occurred to me that it might not be anyone and EH might just have been fucking with them, but you never know
HAHAHA
[SLAMS HAND ON TABLE]
NOT TO TOOT MY OWN HORN BUT I CALLED IT AND I’M A FUCKING GENIUS. [drinks a glass of water too fast and chokes]
this motherfucker is such a troll
Izuku appears to be phasing into another dimension from the shock of this news. meanwhile this smug-looking girl with a ponytail standing next to him is all like “I already fucking knew”
you know what, smug ponytail girl, ANYONE can say that AFTER the big reveal. the real MVPs are the ones who saw it coming a whole entire page before it actually happened, so you can shove it okay
and now Eraser Head is saying “we’re done here”? but I want to see the rankings, damn it
(ETA: funny how in the anime he shows the rankings first thing and THEN all the rest of this goes down. somehow he’s an even bigger troll there.)
and he finally takes pity on Izuku and sends him to the nurse’s office. you really shouldn’t need a teacher’s permission to go see the nurse, but I guess it’s the thought that counts
and there we go! rankings. so Izu’s all the way down at the bottom. and surprisingly Bakugou is not quite at the top? AND WHAT’S THIS?
THIS IS A NAME I RECOGNIZE. THAT’S DISCOUNT ZUKO BY GEORGE 8D
please be introduced soon, I’m excited to meet you
no idea who that person is at the very top. but hey good for them
hey guys. guess who ships All Might/Aizawa ever since their rivalish history was established in the previous chapter. [points to self]
so this is good stuff
look at this shade being thrown back and forth. or rather, EH throwing shade and AM struggling to throw it back but he’s too much of a straight arrow for it to really work lmao. “april fool’s day was over a week ago”
also oh shit last year he threw out the whole damn bunch. those guys must have SUCKED
oh my god now All Might is smugly confirming that EH likes Izuku too
hey guys here’s a closeup of All Might’s reaction to this:
you like krabby patties don’t you squidward
my boy Izuku out here accumulating mentors like... something... that accumulates a lot
that’s right, he has TWO whole mentors. what a legend
I got really confused for a second when the following panel said Izu was going home after the first day. even though I know it’s not a boarding school, I somehow tricked myself into thinking it was for a sec
oh hey it’s Iida. he wants to know how Deku’s finger is
lol he didn’t remember being healed last time. thank you for that, information bubble
I’m serious, it’s not essential information but it helps the series to remain consistent with itself, and it shows that the mangaka so far is remembering even minor details like this, and I’m honestly really impressed
Horikoshi Kouhei is the author. just looked it up. I gotta remember that. Good job so far Horikoshi-sensei. also he’s apparently younger than me?? nice to know that some of us millennials are out there crushing it at least
oh snap Recovery Girl cautions him that if he keeps getting hurt he’ll eventually run out of stamina and die. wtf. is “stamina” really a finite resource like that? can’t he just get a good night’s sleep and replenish that shit
I’m genuinely wondering how long him not being able to control his powers is going to be an issue then. I’m starting to think not that long. at first I thought it would be a very slow process, because if he got too strong too quickly it would be bad for the story. but on further reflection, it’s really the other way around. there’s only so many times he can be the only guy without any powers and trying to figure out what to do before that shit gets really old. basically right now he’s TOO nerfed
“I thought Iida was scary but he’s actually just super-serious.” he’s very nice for a 40-year-old trying to hang out with a bunch of teenagers. I’m sure you two will be good friends
Ochako!
Iida’s calling her “Infinity Girl” since she threw the ball so high it registered as “infinity meters” on Aizawa’s scale. I wonder if this name will stick, cuz I like it
haha Ochako doesn’t know Izuku’s actual first name and calls him Deku. he was listed as “Izuku” on the results board, though. you could hardly fail to notice that, since he was in last place. she just wants to call him by the cute nickname. fucking sly move there
hmm apparently he doesn’t like the name Deku? or he’s just trying to play it cool with the Girl He Likes
(ETA: now I know the whole sad story of “Deku” and its various meanings. I wonder just how much work Horikoshi put into selecting this name and its kanji)
like he said, he fucking loves that name
“it’s like the Copernican Revolution” hahaha what. a quick Google search confirms that this was the whole shift from people thinking the sun revolved around the earth to realizing it was the other way around. I completely fail to understand what this has to do with the situation of Deku letting Ocha call him “Deku” because she thinks it’s cute. this metaphor is beyond my fucking grasp
(ETA: I must have been tired or something because it’s obviously just that he’s done a 180 from hating the name to embracing it. still a weird analogy but whatever.)
ohhhhhh here come the feels ready or not
SHIELDS UP. IT’S THE PURE, GENTLE HAPPINESS OF A BLOSSOMING SHOUNEN FRIENDSHIP. THE PROTAGONIST’S FIRST FRIENDS EVER. NO, I MUST BE STRONG, DAMN IT. DAMN ITT
oh what the fresh hell, All Might
first the training!! ten months! grueling!! then the entrance exam!! fighting a bunch of giant robots! not having the slightest clue about how to actually use his brand new powers! then the first day of school!! you think you’re finally safe, but NO we’re going to have a trial that may possibly expel you! but he somehow makes it past that too! surely he’s in the clear NOW, right? he has to be?? but nooo, the SECOND day of school, THAT’S when tHE REAL FUCKING TEST BEGINS, FUCK
WHAT THE FUCK IS THE THIRD DAY GOING TO BE. THE END OF THE WORLD?
lmao Mic teaching them English
lmaaaaao everyone is bored out of their fucking minds except fucking Izuku, that FUCKING NERD
the school chef is a sentient humanoid vacuum cleaner named Lunch Rush
nice try with that gimmick there Lunch Rush, but you’re no Best Fucking Jeanist
“the white rice is comforting, so I go with that!” fucking damn, Deku. maybe try branching out just a little
by the way, Izu is narrating all of this like it’s already an established routine, but isn’t it still just the second day? or was All Might just talking out of his ass before about that “real test”
omg
it’s All Might’s class. don’t tell me this was what he was talking about when he was going on about the “real test” fjksj
PROFESSOR LOCKHART. PROFESSOR GILDEROY LOCKHART IS THAT YOU
yet again they talk about how differently he’s drawn sob I can’t
everyone: [turns and winks at the camera] WE KNOW WE’RE CARTOOOONS
what is this pose
gri gri gri
“today’s activity is [holds up a card that says BATTLE] BATTLE”
UNIFOOOOOOORMS
I MEAN COSTUMES
YEEEES. I’VE SEEN DEKU’S COSTUME IN TUMBLR POSTS. I WANT TO SEE HIM WEAR IT YES PLEASE
HERE WE GO
-- PFFFFFFT
Bakugou looks... I’ll let you know when I stop laughing
Ochako looks like your standard Marvel heroine really but the two little buttons on her chest give it an extra dash of cuteness
Iida looks like a fucking super sentai with that helmet
Yuri on Ice, Mickey Mouse, Kermit the Frog, and Tall Guy with Pterodactyl Arms look fine, I guess
do not fucking tell me the chapter’s going to end before we actually see Izuku
...
the chapter ended before we actually saw Izuku
I’m going to kick you you stupid chapter
there isn’t even a bonus character bio at the end, it’s just a thing about all of Horikoshi’s assistants. good for them, I guess, I know they work fucking hard and they’re doing a good job so far
guess what I’m going to do. “read the next chapter.” yep
#bnha#boku no hero academia#makeste reads bnha#I want a miniseries all about the previous generation of u.a.#featuring the coming of age of all might best jeanist and lunch rush#and aizawa too I guess#lunch rush growing up with his quirk the power of lunch#'you can't be a superhero with lunch powers' everyone said#but he never gave up on his dreams goddammit
