CRYING IN THE (WINTER)CLUB

Before starting the ID I want to say there are some OC characters in this, and I’ve described their general appearance in this google doc for ref!

[ ID: Wide front view colored art drawn traditionally and colored digitally. Every character is in fullbody except Dr Habit whos drawn till above legs. In the scene many people are gathered out in the winter snow at a backyard. Snow falls everywhere. Overall pic is light blue toned. There is slight pale vignette around it.

Dr.Habit is looking away and wiping a tear, smiling. In the artists interpretation he has yellow fur, pink hair, stitches on hands, deep red nails.He wears long brown fur coat, big white knitted scarf, black fingerless gloves, black fur ushanka with orange fruits and green leaves design. Wears hair in a long plait. A dark grey maine coon leans into him.

Putunia is laying down, hands on cheeks making a ''ooo'' face in anticipation and glee. In the artists interpretation she has long dark brown curly hair. She wears a purple petunia shaped dress, blue pants, short brim straw hat with fake purple flowers,  thick yellow socks. Wears hair in big pigtails tied with pink bobble ties. She is looking at Lil Habby( the puppet) holding a fire gun to a melting chocolate bar, melting into a cup for making a drink. He wears the usual with a pink flower in hair. He has long thin simple shadow arms and legs here.

Marigold is sitting idle on the grass, looks curiously at snow on his petal hair, maybe even irritated. Near him on a pink cushy sofa with green highlights and little yellow flower designs sits Rose playing his flute eyes closed and legs kicking casually. In this picture his hair is longer. His hair tie rests on a sofa arm.

Behind him the Carlas are making a Snow Carla. Fortune Teller Carla is smiling and keeping a camellia on the snow figure. A red sleeveless dress and red gloves are drawn on her, wears hair in double buns with sparkling grey flower bands encircling buns, green eyeshadow. Another Carla laughs heartily, adding more snow.  A green buttoned dress with yellow ''fluff''  and striped brown cap with same fluff is drawn on her. The third Carla's face is away from viewer, she too is adding snow. A blue dress like Elsa's icy dress and a purple flower crown is drawn on her, though the cape is actually worn. The Snow Carla has one swirly eye dug in, a button eye with leaf lashes and branch eyebrow, carrot nose, red wax lips stuck on. From the camellia tree behind the red-clothed one, a pair of green cat eyes with thick brown brows stare.

Farther away on the other side Kamal is walking in, holding a half eaten pitha in hand while approaching. He holds a bag with a box saying ''To Kamal, with love''. In the artists interpretation his face is acne scarred. He wears a blue-black sweater, purple scarf, blue pants, brown winter shoes with white fluff at the top, one gold earring, frog shape chew necklace, hair is in a bun.

At the center Trevor is reaching up  with a stool and fiddling with a giant vibrating hot chocolate machine. He wears his usual coat with added blue jeans, red scarf with yellow and black stripes, leopard print heels, green goggles, mask for mouth, silver ear piercings. Hair is in a mullet and nails are sharp and black. The machine has a funnel streaming black smoke, and many bright devices on it. In the center of it is a radioactive symbol. On one side to its bottom is a part reading ''DEVIL MODE'' in allcaps with fire graphics, a big red button in a glass case is above it with a note that reads ''Never(underlined) touch'', stuck with a smiley face pin. There is a mounted fish figurine on one handle. The hot chocolate is fizzling over the brim.

Behind him a long table laiden with food is seen. There are swirl designs on the wood's sides. There are red and green apples, borscht, three colored drinks, yorsh, glintvein , 3 tier chocolate cake, shchi, cut open peaches, cut round bread, bowl with sweet bread cakes, three small buns, full breasted chicken in aluminium foil. Lily is looking over the table edge, grinning with the aim of stealing the cake.

There are plants around, a winter garden. In some places a green color overtakes the snow with grass growing. All over the yellow fence, to the left side, are huge clumps of winter jasmine.

To the horizon trees in blue-green shades with snow coverings are seen, closer and then farther and farther away. In that distance the silhouettes of Jimothan smiling and waving to Trencil, while dragging Parsley through the snow behind him are seen. Trencil stands and smiles, a little of his towering purple castle with red highlights, many turrets, visible.

Ermmm ahffjd to talk a little about what I drew...hmmhfhg...well idk if the perspective( god i tried) makes this look different so ill just throw it out there thats Habits not looking at my sonaJDJVNJ hes looking away and crying due to found family feelings. Carlas doing some gay shit. Pabit+Putunia about to start a small localized natural disaster. I mean how else do u make hot choco without setting chocolate on fire tbh. Hotted chocolate. aNd YeS mY fAmIlY SeLf iNsErTs ArE ThErE tOo >:3. The machine will explode tommorow but its OK. They can make bath bombs from the carnage. Hrhggh I had a different idea but then my sis changed my HC so Im just gonna say Habit built it but with Trevors help hence the flashiness nd DEVIL MODE. Now that ive watched hlvrai i cant stop dropping references this series is so quotable .   Sawww those guys in the back? Honestly Trencils probably a winter person with the low light, fog and blocked sun.

EDIT: Shortened the rlly long ID, but if someone wants to know the plants i drew under ‘winter garden’;  The flowers and plants visible at front are virginia rose, red chokeberry, snowdrops, a single frost covered rose, piers japonica in pots. To the middle inkberry, more snowdrops, colored hellebores patch,  glory of snow, black hellebores patch, pansies, cyclamens, yellow aconite, some more snowdrops. A little farther are two winterberry plants, a camellia tree, witch hazel, english primroses, staghorn sumac.

hey everyone! i just wanted to both showcase my own progress and maybe give some hope to you artists out there who feel like their art doesn’t improve!

this is the first ever portrait i did, and the first drawing of ikael i ever did. looks completely unlike him, doesn’t it ? i was so ashamed of this it was the only artwork i never put on this blog! i did it on july 8, 2017. just about two years ago!

the second art i ever did of ikael! as you can see, it still looks absolutely nothing like the picture above! i had only his hairstyle really down - everything else was too unfamiliar. this is dated january 5, 2018 - a good half year had passed since i had attempted drawing him. it’s up to you guys which you think is objectively “better” loll

this one is dated january 8, 2018! now he’s looking a little familiar, isn’t he? i clearly learned a lot from my mistakes, and you can too! i HATED the one i did before this, guys. i absolutely despised it and i was so close to never drawing ikael again, but i did. and it turned out so much better! when you reach a point like this, please keep going! this is basically the backbone of how ikael looks now! i still use it as reference sometimes whoopsie

this is january 28th, 2018! i filled the page with these drawings, and u know what? it got easier to draw him after that. i got more confident. repetitive iteration practice gives confidence, even if you think the individual drawings are “bad”. it’s not about the individual drawings! remember, you’re always learning, always improving. as long as you seek to do that, you will, even if you don’t notice.

january 29th - the first portrait i ever did of ikael! reference this for later ;)

march 5th, 2018 - who is this smiling young miqo’te with signature big ears? an expression? open eyes? things are really coming together! this took me ages and i didn’t want to refine it beyond a basic sketch, but i’m so glad i did!

may 11, 2018 - quick comparison to how my non-painted portraits were looking! (this is the lovely @glyphenthusiast‘s woL, anemone, btw) i was in a work-heavy art program here and barely found the time to actually practice, but look at the improvement! ;;w;;

july 16, 2018 - this was for a follower milestone! my second ever attempted Full Portrait of ikael. i wimped out and closed his eyes, but i remember being super proud of this!

july 26, 2018 - guys i was SO proud of this one that it’s still my phone lockscreen. and you know what? i think that’s really really helped me love this art and not regret it like i used to do a lot. can i see the mistakes now? yes. do i still love it? surprisingly, yes! (fun fact: i drew and painted the greyscale as we were getting an assignment, immediately coloured it and made some bs excuse abt using it as my assignment cover, and turned it in some editing later! do you know how long it took me? less than 3 hours TOTAL. that’s amazing!)

october 2nd, 2018 - this was for inktober! that’s the only reason i even did it; i was NOT confident in my skills, or my ability to finish things. but look at the detail!

may 31, 2019 - finishing off with a pic of my dear y’shtola! i did a bunch of other ikael drawings/half/fullbodies, as well as a scattering of portraits that didn’t take me very long, but this was the last thing i put significant effort into! of course i still have a ways to go, but i’ve come really far!

you can check out my #my art and #sketch tags to see everything, but these images worked the best together! i’m not trying to boast or brag, but i am proud of how far i’ve come, even if some days i dont feel that at all. and i hope this helped at least someone have some hope or inspiration for themselves! <3

I was so proud of this picture. Still sort of am. I remember drawing this with a new set of brushes i had downloaded and it was a lot of fun to redraw these pokemon from small reference pictures. I dont think i noticed that back then but now im proud of my past self cuz i think i managed to draw the pokemon pretty well and it was one of the first times i tried to redraw something without using the exact same pose or position from my reference pic, but trying something different. I was also a bit frustrated with the picture cuz its not exactly how i would have liked it but meh its still nice

HAH. My laptop was definitely not made for a canvas this big xD its a 3000 x 3000 canvas and my laptop was struggling a lot during the whole process and i was so scared it would crash any second (luckily it didnt =w=). I was watching naruto while drawing this, thats why the expression looks the way it does lol Now i dont think it looks that good but back then i was damn proud of myself and i think it a sort of achievement aswell since i had never tried to draw a more detailed face this way

BOOM! x) "BOOM" 2 to be exact, me and my friend keep track of all my random boom pictures lol. This one was a redraw of a random sketch i had drawn previously, aka boom 1. Tbh i dont think i ever had so much fun or was so satisfied with a picture as i am/was with this one. There was no point to it, no background story, nothing, i just wanted to draw something fun and thats what i did and the picture still makes me happy, despite the flaws it has pwp

Very happy with this one too. I wanted to draw fanart for the little trashmaid comic series (its great, check it out) and when i was done i was super happy with how it turned out and the creator of the comic seemed to like it aswell ^w^ I still like it and im not feeling embarrassed about it in the slightest, which i think is the best thing about the picture (even tho it could have been better)

I love this picture and i dont really care about all the things i did or didnt do wrong. At the beginning i was having trouble and got a bit frustrated with it since i didnt know how to draw what i wanted to but in the end i think it turned out great and idk, it just makes me happy :D

The first picture after i had nuked my old account. Id love to ramble about this picture and the story behind it but that would take too much time and i doubt anyone made it this far anyways lol What i can say is that the drawing process of this one was also a lot of fun and i was able to just go into a..somewhat trance state and just, well, draw. I think that one was also the one where i found my love for lineless backgrounds. (when im in the right mood i love painting them)

This was..hm. Challenging. Intimidating. I hadnt seen a lot of Sky: Children of the Light fanart and after my first attempt at a screenshot redraw had gone well, i wanted to try another one. And as soon as i had started, it just worked. I had some trouble with the shading and it doesnt look very good at some parts but eh i still love it (not super happy with the colours but im getting better at that i think)

I dont know what happened there lol I remember wanting to draw something for the prompt but being pretty late? Idk, anyways, for some reason i decided to start drawing at 10pm and keep going without a single break until 2-3am. Again, i was in this drawing bubble and only broke out when i felt like i was gonna pass out and i had to finish. I know i could have just stop and gone to sleep but for some reason i didnt. But ye i like the result, i see so many mistakes and things id like to change but it is what it is

Hach...Theres so much wrong here xD But oh well. I drew the sketch in a free period in school befor latin class and later redrew it digitaly. I wanted to draw stardew valley fanart and so i did pwp It was fun so i dont dislike the picture but i still know that there are parts that dont make any sense xD

Its so pretty ;w; I mean cmon- it is. This is a picture where i have no problem to be arrogant or show of cuz i think i did a really good job with it and welp theres nothing more to say. I love it and it was a great drawing process

Very frustrating. The pose was fine but- the background? Oof. It took me ages to get it done, then i decided it sucks and deleted it and started from scratch and drew a whole new background. Im..half happy with the result. Its not what i wanted it to be but i guess it turned out fine and i dont dislike it

December

Again, super happy. It turned out very nicely and actually close to what i had in my mind. It also came put pretty quick. I only had trouble with the clothes but eh im gonna get better at that eventually
