I live in England and currently only speak English fluently however I am currently studying both French and German! (German is definitely my favourite of the 2)

Subjects and Interests

My favourite subjects are Maths and Classical Civilisation but I enjoy most subjects. (Lessons can still suck tho bc dam some teachers can be boring)

I enjoy drawing, playing games, reading (books and fics), listening to music and watching youtube.

My fav books are everything Rick Riordan but i plan to read some other stuff as well soon.

My fav characters from the main series are Nico, Leo, Frank and Lester/Apollo but I do love pretty much all of the main cast. I haven't read Magnus Chase or Kane Chronicles since I was a kid so I'm gonna reread those before deciding favourites but I think they were Alex and Carter. Also, in love with all of the side characters even if they are 90% hc.

I think at 298/300 bots rescued in Astro Bot, I'm calling my time with this game Done. The last 2 levels are kicking my ass so hard, I dont think I can beat them.

But i do want to do somewhat of a Thing about the game and its like....

As great as the game and its platforming is, the playstation gimmick really uhh.... stopped working right near the end for me.

And i dunno whether its just the timing (everyones opinion of Playstation has dramatically dropped since the PS Pros announcement), or how they presented the cameos?

See, most of the really recognisable characters are cameos in the first few worlds. By the time you get to the final worlds, you've long run out of characters most people will recognise. So it sort of goes from ":D" to "... who the hell is this and why should i care?"

And heres the thing.... I'm a Playstation girl through and through? The first console i played was a PS1. Ive had every playstation since. I'm also generally interested in gaming, and know probably a bit more than the average person. So many of the cameos near the end of the game were just blanks for me. At least 2 games are JP exclusives for the PS1... meanwhile theres only 1 Crash Bandicoot character? Spread out some of the more recognisable characters across the whole game, and i think that would make me a little less Weird.

But even without that, it just feels like a.... weird basis for a "franchise"? It works for Astros Playroom, because thats sort of a demo game to tell you what the PS5 can do. For a full fledged FULL PRICE game, it just feels a bit scummy? Its no longer a fun little demo full of references to the past. Its a near £60 game whose whole identity is wrapped up in this nostalgia.

I think "gaming fatigue" and people hating Ubisoft games comes from the same issue - gameplay design hasn't changed much the last 10-15 years As someone who is around 30 and has played games since I was 5 years old, I have played just about every type of game there is. So when I sit down to play something I often have this "gaming fatigue" as people call it; I cant find a game I want to play. However I dont think its because Im getting old, its because I feel like I have already played every game that comes out. With Star Wars Outlaws I spent most of my time gambling as it had invented a new form of poker that was fun to master. The stealth and action gameplay however was nothing new and I was bored through it all, and its the same for most Ubisoft open world games. I spent more time downloading Far Cry 6 than I did playing it. I felt like I had already played the entire game.Its also why I really liked Elden Ring or Astro Bot's challenge levels, they want to challenge the player so they throw new things at you that keeps you on your toes. Its new and exciting. I think this is also why anyone who has played games for as long as me absolutely loves fun little games like Balatro.Generally speaking games just don't seem to innovate much when it comes to their mechanics. With Starfield I was tired of its procedural exploration, crafting base building and ship combat the second it was announced. Its overdone and they didn't even implement it well. Hogwarts Legacy had a beautiful recreation of the Harry Potter world but the combat was insanely repetitive. I haven't touched the game since I finished its main story, which feels like a waste of such a beautiful world. I wish it had reasons to keep me playing it.So no, I don't think gaming fatigue is something that has to happen as you age. I think its due to games spending too many resources on better graphics and bigger worlds, but barely any on trying to create new mechanics or new gameplay loops. Its weird as you can study game design just about anywhere, but maybe these people aren't taken as seriously as the people with hard skills like engineers or 3D artists. I know i put a lot of effort into the bangtan readings bc theyre like-- the semi between my usual intense stuff and the light-hearted ones so im-- probably not gonna touch them yet (for now)  -- I always have high expectations for them because they have to be a certain Standard. There’s alot of great bangtan astro posts out there -- part of that is also v pressuring. But another part is that I want to contribute to something in the community as well! That is like, new and welcomed and good and Not Bad... so... I’m holding off bc I have to have like, a week to actually write, edit, re-edit, check myself before I (usually) publish them.. so... this is ur warning my bts inner readings wont be coming out soon!! 

im just talking about gg stuff -- or other idols, thinking about twice and gfriend and oh my god.... girl groups...
