STAR TREK UPDATE TIME, holy shit! tuesday we watched ds9's "a time to stand" and "rocks and shoals."

KIRA AND ODO. they've got the station all to themselves...um, e quark. i did get deluded for a hot second, when they were all at the bar together, into believing in kira e odo e quark. i don't think that's going to be a permanent feature in my psyche but it was fascinating to experience just once

first creation and most recent creation of 2020: my first creation was pink - jaehyun for my 127 color series after not writing for almost 2 years! and i thought my moodboards were so darn cute HAHAHA my most recent creation of 2020 is when the snow falls - jaehyun for the taste of winter collab and my most recent creation in general is push & pull - doyoung

i always thought my work was pretty good if i dare be honest for a second. i did. and i always had so much fun making stuff, trying new techniques, making stuff for groups that dont get a lot of stuff made for them. but i’ve started to realise now that i was biased because it was my work, ya know? i’ve started to realise that actually, i was never needed in any fandom. doesnt matter how hard i work, how well i recolour, who i gif, for some reason i’m the last person anyone wants to reblog from, even when people were coming directly to me to request gifsets. i get it, i complain in my own tags about my own posts not getting notes. everyone does it when they work hard on something and it flops.

in boulder city her mom worked as a carer as there’s a lot of retirees there. mimi really resented the slow pace of life, longed for some fucking energy n life. she was a cheerleader in school but outside of school there wsn’t much to do except practise stunts and go on bike rides.  occasionally they’d get dressed up and catch a bus to henderson, the next biggest city for them to get tht sweet night life

her teenage years consisted mostly of hanging around the renovated motel blocks used as housing projects n tanning by the pool. very florida project if you’ve seen that. she reminds me a lot of the mum in that. also she started working as an avon rep going door-to-door when she was 16 bcos she wanted to have her own income. like as young as 14 she’d decided she was smart enough to go to college but she didn’t have the money n her family didn’t really see it as a worthwhile thing, her mom was very like the mom from matilda “you chose books.... i chose looks!” which i think is where a lot of mimi’s more shallow / appearance-driven traits come from

wasn’t really ‘cool’ until high school. before that she was a bit of a lisa simpson type. won a spelling bee when she was 9. was in the mathletes squad in middle school. when she went from middle school to high school she started cheer and tried to reinvent herself basically. always been very concerned with social mobility and keen to socially climb, like when she enters a new situation she’ll find out who the alphas are and quickly try n befriend them

hiii! i couldnt find any tutorials that explain the whole specific process for this kind of silhouette gifs BUT thats okay bc im making one myself :-) thank you sm for the sweet compliment, this whole concept/idea doesnt belong to me and im v happy if others can get inspired by the things i post tho so no problems whatsoever there :*

that said, the scenes you pick are VERY important and they must have a silhouette of your main subject vs a bright-solid background, like rey here: 

im going to assume you already know how to make gifs, but in case you dont, heres a great tutorial to get you started 🌟

so, after you’ve made and sharpened your gif, you should be seeing something like this:

which means its time to get to the coloring. i personally applied my own psd+bw gradient but i know theres ppl who like to do everything from scratch so do whatever you’re most comfortable w! heres my result: 

not very silhouette-like, right? which is why i also added 2 layers of selective color, both of them to enhance the blacks/shadows of the scene:

we’re done, its time to make the one thats going on top of it (in my case its kylo from tfa), HOWEVER dont sharpen it nor add any coloring just yet! 

click your smart object layer and drag it on the base gif:

then, set the layer as ‘lighten’:

notice how parts of the gif can still be seen? keep the layer selected and click on the layer mask button:

now you can delete the extra parts w the eraser (preferably set on soft brush):

(remember that if you’ve accidentally erased too much you can fix it by using the paint tool anytime, but make sure the mask is selected otherwise it wont work)

select the layer (not the mask), sharpen the 2nd gif as well and congrats bc its all over ^^

Yeah, I definitely have a thing for the dancers lol, Seungwoo is a Lead Dancer in Victon.

I guess with Hwanwoong it was his stage presence. He's a great dancer and he's incredibly expressive when he's on stage, or in MV's so that really drew me in. Then when I started watching the reality/variety shows and their behind videos I found out that he's a bit of a weirdo, a touch evil, and incredibly well read. Then of course he is very serious about the groups choreos, etc.

Taemin started out as a complete no for me though. My friend sent me Want because she figured I'd like it but he honestly just creeped me out, so I moved on without a second thought. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I got drawn back in, found myself asking whose MV or stages were in gifsets I was seeing, and it was almost always Taemin, so I had to accept my fate lol

Similar to Woong though, his dancing definitely drew me in. It's unique and the amount of control he has is crazy. Musically, his entire solo career is sublime. Then as I learned more about him and Shinee, everything they've been through, and with him debuting so young, I was just taken in by his strength. There's so much dedication to what he does.

Ah, the good old small box that people get pushed into. Glad he managed to work his way out of it and show how talented he truly was. Him and Kenta both seem so multi-talented, like there's nothing they couldn't do if it was handed to them 😅

It's great to see people being able to be themselves, especially in societies where there is still quite considerable loyalty to traditions and whatnot. There's nothing better than a dork to be honest, a good bit of duality. I feel that with my pair as well, immense charisma and looks that kill on stage, and then bubbly bundles of joy off stage 😂

The amount of determination they must have had to follow this career is unimaginable, especially for The8 if his parents were against it. That's a really tough hurdle to overcome. You've got some great guys there for sure: strong, talented, and all-round decent humans.

time for my monthly salty octavia fan post, again it’s gonna be under a read more and i have anon off, so please don’t read if u don’t like octavia and none of us will have any issues :)

ok so this isn’t anti bellamy at all, i’ve come to my peace that i dont excuse bellamy’s actions in the first half of s3, but i still like his character. the same way that i dont approve of or excuse all of octavia’s actions, but i still like both characters.

anyways i’ve seen this gifset of bob a few times and it’s really annoying the shit out of me bc everyone acts like it’s some tea when it’s rly not. i’m just going to screenshot it bc i dont want to insult the OP or seem like im starting shit with them bc that’s not my intention and i don’t have any negativity towards them

this just really bothers me bc all of bellamy’s actions in s3 up until that point is what led them to not believe him when he said he was on their side. like it’s his fault they don’t trust him, not theirs. i mean there was really no reason for them to trust him, it could’ve been a trap and they all could’ve gotten caught if bellamy was on pike’s side still, so their hesitance to believe him makes sense. it’s so easy for us to say while we’re watching the show that they all should’ve trusted him, but in the show it made more sense for them to not trust him, whether you’re a bellamy fan or not like that’s just the truth.

and people like to blame only octavia for this, but all of them didn’t trust bellamy, all of them left him back there because they ALL didn’t trust him bc the entire season up until that point, he was untrustworthy to them. and most of octavia’s blame goes to bellamy bc he was helping pike all season, the rest of them weren’t.

it’s just annoying when bob says “bellamy was the only person who could possibly save lincoln” like that might have been true, but when they look at his recent actions all season, it makes sense that they weren’t too keen to trust him. he even admits “after he's done, obviously bad things” bc yeah that was good of him to do, but he did it too late, and just bc they didn’t trust him doesn’t mean it’s all their fault, some of the fault still lands on him.

and i dont like how he calls it “hypocritical” bc there’s a lot of hypocritical shit that happens on the show (bellamy’s hatred of the grounders when the sky people landed on their ground and started a war against them, octavia being hypocritical towards bellamy and the rest of the sky people, and im not gonna touch on clarke and her kingdom of hypocrisy) but it’s annoying that octavia is always the only one to get called out on it and hated by a majority of the fandom.

im just tired of t100 fandom on tumblr, it seems like everywhere else people are fine, but here it’s impossible to recognize that characters aren’t perfect yet you can still like them after they’ve made mistakes. or you’re only allowed to like some characters after they make mistakes, the rest are trash and must die. anyways i can’t wait for s5 and i hope my children bellamy & octavia are having a good day.
