me seeing all the "X meets Y" "MCU meets boku no hero academia" "paris hilton meets gotham" "deadpool meets the roman empire" scenarios for fics and stories and published TV scripts and going "are you going to integrate those in a chemical fusion until they're a seamless substance with no parts sticking out like a sore thumb or...??"
#i dont know man incongruent story elements that dont play off of each other and just sit there. for whatever reason#they feel so uninspired and unexciting to me#even if you're going for fruit salad effect the components of a fruit salad play off the taste of each fruit and the combination#is a pleasant experience#i really dont get 98% of ''X meets Y'' stuff they're not integrated at all#if ya put X and Y together i better not detect either X or Y in it. make something new that each of these parts alone couldn't accomplish!
