he is going to fall off the fence
#art#furry#furry art#emmanoah#emma library of ruina#noah library of ruina#i dont know how to get the poses or perspective or foreshortening to look right but also I DONT CARE#many of my drawings are for the purpose of expressing some kind of image or feeling and i dont mind if they have a bunch of mistakes in the#the fence literally cuts off on the left side but i cant be bothered to go back and draw more lines. it simply does not matter#what DOES matter is that its emmanoah and they make me happy. and i put some thought into the composition and how it relates to them#emma is on top of the fence and noah is not/emma is in front of the fence and noah is 'trapped' behind it/etc

if I may ask, do you have any tips or advice on how to improve drawing anatomy? ;-; I love how all your works look very expressive and dynamic and I thought maybe I could ask you, totally cool if you don’t feel comfortable answering tho!! hope you have a nice day! c:
There's a little bit from these two asks with a similar question! x x I'll take the most relevant part and paste them here :>
practice figure drawing! improving on anatomy is important since it’s the one of the foundations for drawing! learn to break down the body into shapesI like to use this site for pose references and to build speed; I spend 30 sec to a minute on each pose and focus mostly on getting the line of action and body movement. helpful vids to watch: gesture drawing x, foreshortening x, shortcuts x
i redrew my sketches on the right to show the difference a little better :> how I’d keep these in mid would be:
Static: - seeing things head-on/straightforward - leading lines are usually horizontal or vertical - subject is usually center of the page Dynamic: - more angles/different perspective - leading lines are diagonal/curved - subject occupies the space in an interesting way static poses and compositions aren’t bad, but you do get a lot more personality from being able to play with perspective and foreshortening :> you can find some interesting poses on pinterest too if you dont know where to start! type in “poses” and there are a few dynamic ones afkjghjk

7, 19 and 25 for the art asks! Love your stuff btw!!
Aah thank you sm!! 😊 love your bio btw! 💕💕
7. How often do you use references? Sometimes?? Like i often like taking multiple references and inspos and just looking at them all for a while and not use them a lot when i am actually painting, only for the sketching stage. I like to keep my mind open without them. For pose references i usually just set up a timer and take a pic of myself bc i dont know who else has used the references online. When i do actually use a specific picture reference its bc i stumbled upon it on tumblr or something and felt a spark. But more often than not i dont use them
19. What is the most difficult thing for you to draw? Tiles/blocks, especially when im doing more realistic and less styled drawigs, getting the size, spacing, and perspective right is tricky. Buildings because i can never manage to make them look interesting but not in a tacky way. and Foreshortening isnt always my strong suit.
25. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music? Music, always music. I feel like music is suck a key inspiration and factor to my creative process. I like to feel out the vibe of what im doing and make a playlist for it, so it can all flow better. Hell sometimes when i dont have a direction i put some music and let it guide me, thats why i have so many pink floyd-inspired pieces 😂
Thank you sm for asking! 🖤🖤

Waaa u seem so good at composition!! Do u have any tips with inspo and making it happen?
i look at a lot of pose inspos!! I have a folder with a bunch of art inspos + pose refs
im gonna use this piece as a general example since I had a whole bunch of sketches for it :>
these are a few things I like to keep in mind! I had a wholeeeee bunch of refs for this project, from works that I liked from other artists to vehicle and location refs
these are things I consider whenever I come up with compositions!
i redrew my sketches on the right to show the difference a little better :> how I’d keep these in mid would be:
Static: - seeing things head-on/straightforward - leading lines are usually horizontal or vertical - subject is usually center of the page Dynamic: - more angles/different perspective - leading lines are diagonal/curved - subject occupies the space in an interesting way static poses and compositions aren’t bad, but you do get a lot more personality from being able to play with perspective and foreshortening :> you can find some interesting poses on pinterest too if you dont know where to start! type in “poses” and there are a few dynamic ones afkjghjk
here are more thumbnail sketches, i think it's really important to be able to distinguish your main subject from the background, so having it mapped out in grayscale is helpful! i think this step is important so you’re not stuck to one idea, if smth looks wonky in the sketching phase, it’s okay to go with smth else
if you have a good foundation, then your composition should turn out okay too :>
#geometric bleps#i hope that helps a little adjfgh#its a little all over the place but!!#im still learning how to composition better too but this is what I've been doing thus far :'D
