my rottmnt oc really likes hanging out with donnie and watching him work and listening to him explain what he's doing, and even though he doesn't understand any of it at first, he starts picking up on little things. Eventually, he asks donnie to help him make some little bug-themed robots, and he spends days taking them apart and putting them back together over and over until he knows how they work so that he can make them by himself and show them off to everyone else.

listen. the other boys are straight up burnt out on donnie’s science talk (they listen, because they love him, but they’ve got no idea what the dude’s talking about.)

if you show donnie even a modicum of interest in his tech, he is immediately your ride or die. he’ll give you the full tour of his lab, explaining all of his newest projects and favorite features that he’s customized himself.

when you show him that you put in the effort of learning how to make the robots himself, he’s melting. his soul has left his body, hes so proud of you and so excited that you actually took the time to do something you knew would make him happy.
