Hi! You mentioned a dbd pokemon au in the tags of one of your posts and I couldn't help but wonder what pokemon you'd think Caludette would have? If you don't feel comfortable sharing that's also fine!

Sorry for taking so long to answer this, anon!! It’s a really good question, and i’ve actually posted headcanons for my pokemon AU in the few dbd friend groups/servers i’m in, so I have some of this I can send! I’m not 100% on any of these, but I still like what i have and don’t have other ideas yet, so subject to change, but for now, I can share some of what i’ve got. This got VERY bulky, so I apologize in advance for the essay's worth of stuff.

I'm looking over this now and I'll put it under a readmore, actually. It's a LOT. At the bottom there's a more succinct answer for what pokemon I think claudette would have, because I have a few more in-depth hcs at the top.

I feel like Claudette might not want to be a typical trainer, or if she was, she definitely wouldn’t really aspire to be the best, or to defeat the elite four or the champion of her region (Haven’t really decided on one yet.) I don’t know exactly what she’d want to be in this kind of universe? But I do think she’d volunteer at her local pokemon center often, and just.. Live her own life with her few pokemon. Maybe follow some of her own studies, though I don’t necessarily see her being a professor either? Maybe, but idk.

First and foremost (and probably the most concrete idea I have), I think Claudette has a Chikorita! It’s her “starter.” Not sure if it was given to her by a professor, her parents or what, but her Chikorita is the one she’s closest to. They love each other dearly, and wouldn’t leave each other behind for the world. Claudette’s had her Chikorita for years, and they’re always at each other’s sides. I feel like Chikorita is just a pretty good fit for her.

As for another pokemon that’s technically hers, Claudette also has a shiny Eevee! The Eevee was only ever found by chance—at some point during a walk in the park. She heard its cries, and saw that it was likely very little, was almost definitely abandoned, and that it was very hurt. She took it home and nursed it back to health, and it just got so attached to her that it didn’t want to be released back into the wild, and wanted to stay with her instead. She thinks it probably got left by its parents because its bright silver color meant it was incapable of blending into its habitat as well, and was a liability. It’s very affectionate towards her, and she loves it too. I def think that Eevee is hard to work with at first, but she gives it space until it's better again, and then it just.. doesn't want to leave. It grows very affectionate towards her. Maybe it’ll evolve someday, but for now it’s content cuddling against her as she reads. Livin the life haha. Chikorita loafs nearby as well, soaking up the sunlight. Her two lil buddies <3

As of right now, I think she probably wouldn’t have a full team, and these two are the only pokemon that I can think of that would actually be hers. However, even if she only “owns” two pokemon, I like to think that Claudette is just someone that pokemon naturally seem to like. Of course, wild pokemon are still wild, and are going to keep distance, but I think they wouldn’t mind her as much. Definitely the kind of person that your dog (or growlithe? lol) who bites everyone would be nice to and let give them pets, to your surprise.

For what I have right now, I think she would probably live in a cozy place near the outskirts of whatever town/city she resides in, near a forest. Somewhere she can keep a huge garden that she likes to take care of, and go for walks in the wilderness when she feels like it. Although she might only teechnically have two pokemon, I think most if not all of the pokemon nearby at least know her, and she’s just the kind of person that pokemon like a lot—she can’t explain why, but she likes having visitors, and overall loves pokemon. Feels honored when a wild one isn’t all that bothered by her, or is interested by her. She’s willing to feed the pokemon that come to her, but is very very cautious about which ones she *does* feed, because she doesn’t want them relying on her for food. She will feed the regulars on occasion, but tends to feed the more wild pokemon only occasionally. One thing leads to another, and they tell friends about the nice person who gave them food, and then she ends up with a flock of Pidgeys on her doorstep and no idea how to go about solving the problem she’s made for herself haha. A couple pokemon even kind of live with her, or at least around her, and she considers them friends even if they aren’t her pokemon. I’m not sure about details that much, but I like to entertain the idea of a Bulbasaur that really likes to visit, and a Tropius that enjoys being around her garden and soaking in the sun, and likes her enough to stick around.

Straight from my notes page, “Most of the pokemon she knows are friends from the forest near her house!! She's just the kind of person that pokemon seem to like. And so some come to chill near her garden or her house.” And I stick by that.

I know i’m providing really like.. Meaty answers for most of these? Lol i’m sorry, I just really love this AU idea. I am enthusiastic about this mostly because I get to mash my biggest childhood hyperfixation and interest into my current one (and give my comfort characters a better world, like they deserve.) In terms of other pokemon I could see her having, I think a togepi/togetic/togekiss, Shaymin, Snom (I had cute ideas for this! I can’t find them right now unfortunately. I need to update my notes for this AU I think TwT). Probably would have a handful of bug/grass types? Though not those exclusively. She’s not too keen on battles, I imagine, and definitely won’t want to battle until her pokemon faint, because they’re her friends, and she feels horrible doing that. Definitely doesn’t gravitate towards the more battle-ready mons like some trainers might. Maybe Vileplume, mayyybe an azumarill. I can see her having a Lotad, too, or Breloom or Lilligant, or a mon from the Clefable line. Just a whole lot I can see for her really, though the ones I feel fit the most are the Togepi line and Chikorita line, and if we’re thinking she could have possibly met a mythical/legendary, (I have different hcs about her and this mon specifically, but i’ll save those for later if anyone is interested and sends another ask about my ideas on this au), I think a Shaymin would also fit her very very well.  I have WAYY more than this, but i’d have to go through and edit it again to add them, and that’s a hassle. But I might go back and add them to a different post later.

I’m always glad to put more thought into it. This is making me want to go back and try and switch up or solidify some of these hcs again, which I’m keen on doing at some point now.
