Ciao Amore - Emily Engstler x fem!reader

summary: You and Emily are on vacation in Italy together. You have a small argument on your first night there, angst ensues... word count: 2.0k a/n: I definetely wanna write a part 2 to this w/ smut...y'all lmk

This could've been the perfect ending to your and Emily's first night in Italy. Except both of you let the exhaustion from traveling and jet lag get to you, which resulted in a couple's quarrel. 

It wouldn't be fair to say you started it—except maybe that's what Emily would've believed when you gave her the wrong directions to the hotel and delayed your check-in time by a whole hour. 

At first, Emily tried to keep her composure as she asked you for confirmation on which way to turn. She scrubbed her right hand down her face and sighed, "Baby, I need you to tell me if I gotta turn left here or up ahead." 

The sun is blinding, and the tiny sun visor in the mini Cooper you guys decided to rent is barely doing anything to block it out. You're hopelessly trying to translate the directions from Italian to English from your phone. Still, you're getting less and less service the farther into the drive you guys get. Since it's quiet, you each thought the Tuscan countryside was the best option for your honeymoon. No one would recognize Emily here, and if they did, they'd be more lowkey than fans elsewhere could be. But with half a tank of gas gone, sweat collecting on the back of your neck, and a headache forming behind your eyes, your patience is wearing thin, too. 

"Umm…I think it's the next left. Yeah, the one up ahead." There isn't anything in your tone that leads Emily to believe you. 

"Are you sure? Because if not, we can't make a U-turn here." 

"Yeah, Em. That's what it says in the directions." 

As it turned out, you guys were supposed to take the first left, not the second, which led you through a tiny town with the narrowest roads you've ever seen. Emily had to drive as slowly as possible, and you tried to warn her about some of the Vespas parked on the side street. 

"Em! You almost scraped that Vespa!" You yelled in exasperation after she avoided the Vespa by half an inch. 

"Baby, relax. I know what I'm doing," she huffs before adding, "unlike some people." 

You know she's just as eager to get to your hotel as you are, so you let the sass slide this time. "Okay. I wanna see you try to read these directions in Italian. Maybe I should drive instead." 

Emily rolls her eyes and scoffs as she drives out of the little town and into wider streets. The directions show that you guys are back where you're supposed to be. "Not if we wanna make it to the hotel in one piece." 

Scrunching your brow, you ask her, "What's that supposed to mean?" You shift closer to your door, taking your elbow off the center console. 

Emily immediately notices your change in body language. She places her hand on your knee, trying to make amends. She glances over at you but stands by what she said. "C'mon, baby. Don't be ridiculous." 

You scoff and start rubbing at your temples. "You know I can drive! It's insulting you don't think I can!" 

Ever since the two of you started dating, it was evident that you would have to navigate each other's stubbornness. For most of your relationship, Emily was the driver, and you were in the passenger seat. You glanced down at the directions on your phone and saw it'd be about another five miles before you reached your hotel. 

"I never said you couldn't drive! You know what I meant, Y/N," Emily's grip tightens against the wheel as you look out the window, not meeting her gaze. 

You annoyedly sniffle and tell her, "Just go straight for another five miles." 

Both of you knew it would be the longest five miles you've ever had to drive together.

When you both arrived at the hotel, you could finally breathe outside the Mini Cooper's confines. The sun was starting to go down as you guys checked in, and neither of you said a word to each other. As you began to take the dress you would wear out of your suitcase, you couldn't stop angrily unzipping the sides. Emily was stomping around the room in search of her slippers. When you kicked them in front of her, she pouted at you and flopped on the bed. 

You both knew you could behave like little kids when you got into little spats. It was a relief to finally be out of the heat, stop the stressful shuffling that comes with traveling, and finally get to spend time alone together. 

Emily sunk into the bed, shutting her eyes and harshly rubbing at them. When she opened them and turned onto her side, she watched you slide open the balcony door to lean against the railing, eyes trailing the Italian countryside lit up at night. She watched you tie your robe tighter around yourself, knowing you were probably about to step into the shower, 

She thought about opening the door and apologizing, but she figured you each needed some moments alone. She felt so sullen, watching you from behind the door. This was supposed to be a time you could spend together, finally away from the craziness and pressure back home. 

The hotel was beautiful. Outside of the balcony, it looked like the streets were lit up with millions of tiny string lights, and through the cracked door, you could hear the chatter of other couples having an early dinner. Emily sank further into the plush hotel bed before grabbing her book and busying herself. 

You open the door and come back inside, barely glancing at Emily. Emily peers over the top of the book and watches you disappear behind the bathroom door.

You came out of the bathroom with damp hair and your face scrubbed clean of the makeup you had on before. Emily was still reading on the bed when you decided to sit next to her. She closed her book, marking the page before meeting your gaze. 

You tuck a stray hair behind your ear, getting water drips on Emily's arm. You look down at your robe tie before saying, "We should probably get dinner." 

Emily sits in bed, unsure whether she's in your good graces again. She tests the waters by tucking your other strand behind your ear. When you let her, she feels relieved. "Sure, baby. Let's get dinner." 

You each get ready silently, hanging onto a tightness in your chest. It's stupid to argue the way you do because neither of you likes to admit when you're wrong. The only sounds from your hotel room are from the whir of you blow-drying your hair and Emily hanging up some shirts before choosing the one she'll wear tonight. Even if you are a little upset with her, you hope she wears the blue striped shirt that you love so much on her. 

Emily's still watching you from her place on the bed. She's considering how and at what point she should apologize to you tonight. Even if it is true that you're not a stellar driver, she shouldn't have made a comment when both of you were clearly grouchy and eager to just get to the hotel. 

It's when she sees you twist your hair up into a clip and slip on a slinky black dress that you've had forever that she feels wholly disarmed and forgets why you guys ever argue in the first place. You're leaning over the bathroom sink to dab the lipstick on and swiping what's left on your fingers on your cheeks, puckering and pouting in the mirror, completely unaware of the way Emily's looking at you. She stands there for a few seconds before clearing her throat and grabbing her shoes. When you leave the bathroom, she looks down shyly like a kid in trouble and mumbles, "Ready to go?" 

You nod, remaining neutral outside, but seeing Emily's guilty face tugs at your heart. "Let me grab my shoes." 

"I-uh. I took them out already. They're by the nightstand." She nervously adjusts the rings on her fingers as she tells you this. You brought your favorite black heels on vacation and wear them for most of the date nights you guys have.

This little gesture that she does really makes you feel guilty about giving her the cold shoulder, so you stand in front of her, bringing your hand up to rest against her face, and tell her, "Thanks, baby." 

Emily stills and looks down at you, eyes focusing on the lip color you're wearing and wondering when it'll be time to kiss you. She'd never dream of asking if you're still mad at her because she knows better than that, and chooses to wait it out and see. When you're done slipping on your heels, she puts her hand on the small of your back as you exit the hotel and have dinner at one of the restaurants down the street.

It's hard to stay mad at each other in a restaurant this romantic. Your waiter poured each of you a glass of red wine and left the bottle for you both to split over the course of dinner. Emily's nervously twisting her rings while you look directly at her with your chin propped on the palms of your hand. She's focused on her plate of pasta while you sip from your glass of wine. She wipes the napkin at the corner of her mouth before clearing her throat and looking at you. 

Right now, she could really forget she's in Italy at all. All she could see was the gravity of your long eyelashes blinking back at her, your hand wrapped around the wine glass, and the corners of your mouth turned down into a slight frown. 

"Y/N? I wanted to say I'm sorry, baby." She laughs, reaching across the table to grab your hand. "I was–I shouldn't have said what I did back there in the car." 

You look at her downturned brown eyes, the blue shirt you love so much, and how it bounces off the soft light of the restaurant. You've been thinking about kissing her since she set your shoes out for you, desperately restraining yourself against kissing her stupid and forgetting you were ever angry with each other. 

You sigh, "Are we idiots, Em?" 

Emily laughs, "We must be. We're like little kids." She punctuates the tenderness of the admission by kissing the back of your hand. 

You shrug, "I'm not the best driver, I know." 

Emily doesn't say anything at first, knowing it'd only get her in more trouble to agree with that statement. "Aw baby, you know I can't read Italian. I think you were the best person for the job." 

You playfully roll your eyes, "You don't have to grovel, y'know? You're already in my good graces again." 

Emily reaches across the table to hold the side of your head, gently pressing her lips to yours. You've been thinking about her hands in your hair since she tucked your hair behind your ear earlier in the hotel room. When you pull apart, all you can taste is the wine you've both been drinking, pausing to see how it's turned the corners of Emily's mouth a delicious shade of red. Observing the color makes you kiss her back more intensely, running a finger across her jawline. 

She leans back in her chair, spreading her legs a bit before slowly sipping from her wine glass. "Y'look pretty t'night, ma." 

She's flirting with you like you guys haven't been dating for some time now. You narrow your eyes at her, "Yeah?" 

She gives you one long look, sweeping her eyes from top to bottom. "Yeah." 

You consider what your next move should be. Your instincts tell you to ask your lover what she's thinking. Her expression is relieved, cheeks flushed from the wine you've both had. Out of habit, you actually do, softly whispering, "What are you thinking, Em?" 

She looked to the side before smirking, "I think we should go back to the room so I can show you how sorry I am."

known as probably the most energetic boy on this earth, that day he would catch their fans by surprise when, even if his performance was astounding, he sounded more tired than usual and he clearly had his mind somewhere else. when he closed the door of his room in the hotel, after the concert, he made sure to send an apologise to briizes on weverse. without a second thought (after cheking the time of your country ofc) he called you.

after having a fight with you, eunseok sent you a message about his departure for the tour, and as he didn't receive any message back, he second guessed that you needed your space, which he decided to give. he was sure you'd reach out when you felt better but the wait was slowly killing him.

on stage, he wouldn't seem as if he just had a fight with his significant other, although he kept on thinking about his electronic device, and if it had buzzed with a message of yours. he definetely acted flirty with the camera, sending flying kisses or winks in hopes you were watching it at home and you knew they were for you.

seeing your messages on his lockscreen made his face lit up instantly, which even if he knew he would be made fun of later, he couldn't care less.

his teammates would probably need to take part in it by telling him how much you miss him. then he would call you with all his confidence built up and he would curse them out loud for setting him up.

he would be lost. not only about what to do, but not talking to you and being currently not in good terms, it wrecked his routine and his "normality" so he wouldn't be sure on what to do.

i feel like he would need to talk it out with another member to ask for advice on how to make things right. he would be too shy to act bold by hismelf, so that's why he recurred to talk with euseok during the flight. even if the older member told him to just call you and have a proper conversation (which he of course would do) he dedided to add his own touch.

during the concert, he would say some words or constructions you usually used and poses and gestures you usually made. he just wanted to show you that even if he hadn't reached out, he kept you wiht him everywhere, everytime, no matter what.

"please call me or text me when you can. i miss you so fucking bad and i refuse to go on like this"

if he did really had to leave (or they just obligated him), he would be all the time sending you reassuring messages about how much he loves you, or maybe some memes to make you laugh.

on stage, he would be bubblier and happier than usual, but he would go viral for singing a snippet of 'the reason' of hoobastank. when the fans would ask him later on about why did he choose to sing it, he would dismiss the topic by saying that he just felt like it.

Your husband!Noah - is very clingy even if he acts tough and cool about that. You just simply can't get rid of him the moment he decides to cling onto you which happens all the time. Don't get yourself fooled though! The whole time Noah squeezes the shit out of you in his casual hug, he will mumble some mean stuff about you while treating the crook of your neck as a comfy pillow.

So... I forced my friend into watching Stranger Things (pt. 1)

She's currently in season 2, probably episode 8, AND IT'S SO FUN, like... She has absolutly no idea about a n y t h i n g! About why some people seems to hate Mike (her favorite character so far, alongside with Will and El), and she doesn't even know who the hell is this Vecna guy, HOWEVER!!

I'm pretty sure she knows something is off with Mike and El as a couple, and she allowed me to translate some of her quotes, so I'm not missing any oportunity of sharing those gems:

You glared, so she glared harder.

Moving in with Jihyo is, so far, the biggest step you two have taken in this relationship. You used to fantasize about it - think of all the late night talks and breakfasts and bed there would be! However, the first few weeks - months, even - were... worse than expected. The two of you had never lived together before, which meant that you didn't know each other's living habits.

You always fought about little things: where to leave dirty clothes, whether to keep the curtains closed or open, what time to wake up on weekends, and so on, and so forth.

Thankfully, you and Jihyo had sat down and talked and came to agreements, so things became better, and living together became natural for the both of you.

That doesn't mean you didn't get into disagreements from time to time.

Jeongyeon had come over earlier that week with a mug set for you and Jihyo. Unfortunately, you didn't get the chance to open it until now.

There were two mugs inside: a brown mug with the words 'TOP' in white, and a white mug with 'BOTTOM' in brown.

You and Jihyo simultaneously understood that this was one of Jeongyeon's not-so-funny pranks, but the competitive flames in both of you ignited. Neither of you would accept to use the 'BOTTOM' mug, because that would admit that you were... well, the bottom in the relationship.

Of course, the mugs didn't actually connect to your real-life dynamics, but you felt the need to show your dominance nonetheless.

"Y/N, please," Jihyo repeats for the nth time. "Just take it. It's not as if you'd be crowned 'World's Biggest Bottom' or something."

"You begging like that doesn't seem very 'top' either," you point out, somewhat teasing.

"I'm not begging." She huffs. "I'm simply trying to convince you."

"Not gonna happen."

The two of you stand there for a couple more minutes, glaring with your arms crossed in an attempt to intimidate the other. Neither backs down.

"It's just a mug," you finally sigh. Jihyo's eyes light up, but her face falls with your next words. "You take it, it fits you more."

Her lips part. "Are you crazy? What if the girls come over and see me holding that? They would never live it down."

"Then why don't we just keep it in the cupboard?"

Jihyo blinks. It's a logical solution, but she shakes her head. "I'm really close with Jeongyeon. She might feel bad if she doesn't see us using it."

"Then you take it." You purse your lips to prevent yourself from laughing at Jihyo's expression. "I'm pretty sure Jeongyeon only gave this to us for a laugh, Jih."

"I knew that the moment we opened it." She smirks. "I just wanted to see you admit that you were a bottom for me."

"What?" You gasp. "If anything, you're the one who-"

You weren't able to finish your sentence because a pair of soft lips smash onto yours. You immediately melt, hands falling to rest gently on her hips, smiling when you feel her playing with the hair on the back of your neck.

Jihyo's lips part, allowing you to deepen the kiss. You're pretty sure this kiss wasn't innocent - this is definetely still related to the mugs. And you're not losing.

You turn around to pin her carefully on the counter, making sure not to hit the mugs so as to avoid breaking them. Cleaning up wasn't on your to-do list today.

Jihyo's grip on your hair tightens when your hand slips underneath her shirt, your cold fingers caressing her stomach.

Smirking, you pull away only to put your lips on her neck instead, kissing and even softly biting at her skin.

"Not in the kitchen," she forces out, a blissful sigh escaping from her throat when you reach that certain spot.

She whines when you stop. "I'm thinking you didn't kiss me because I looked hot, did you?"

"No," she admits. "I wanted to catch you off-guard and make you agree to take the white one."

"That's cheating," you complain. "But it didn't work anyway, did it?"

"No," she repeats, rolling her eyes.

"Instead it was the other way 'round." You grin.

Jihyo frowns. "I didn't agree to anything."

A not so soft launch (Pablo Gavi x Reader)

**@dohmeti suggested I could do a part 2 for Dealing with the enemy where both of them have to be on the red carpet and I thought it was a great idea. So after some brainstorming, this is what I came up with. This can be read on its own but reading part 1 definetely adds nice context for the characters. I hope you enjoy it and thanks for the love for part 1 ❤️**

"Our what?"

Your boyfriend's confusion was hilarious.

"A soft launch is when you leave hints on like social media to let people know we are together. And then we do the hard launch".

"Which is?"

"Posting together, Pablo. What else?"

You keep walking around the room, phone in hand, nervous about this moment. While he just lays down in bed not understanding what a big deal this is.

"It sounds like a lot of work".

"Says the guy who spends 90 minutes running around the pitch like a headless chicken. Liking a couple of posts won't be that tiring".

"But why can't we just say we are together?"

"Because that's not how things are done nowadays. We need to do this and maybe mention something in interviews if we are asked. That type of thing".

He shakes his head and keeps scrolling on his phone while you sit on the edge of the bed, index finger hovering over your phone screen.

"Imagine it's a handbag".

"What?"

"Instead of the follow button, imagine it's the buy button for one of those handbags you love so much. You don't hesitate to press that button…at all".

"I hate you".

He reaches to you to grab you by the waist and take you closer to him.

"It'll be fine when people know about us. Stop worrying".

"But what if I lose my Madrid season ticket? Imagine the scandal".

"I'll give you one for the better team. Swapping Madrid for Barça will be an even better decision than dating me".

"Never!"

You take the phone back and press follow.

"Done!"

"So proud of you, baby", he teases, kissing your head.

"Shouldn't you be happy? You were begging me to follow you on Instagram for ages".

"Until you said yes to my offer to be my girlfriend on the first attempt. That's much better than a follow. And I know you stalk my profile anyways".

"I do not stalk your Instagram".

"And my fan accounts".

"I don't even check those. Stop lying".

"How about that time I saw you watching a video from one of them?"

"It was recommended on my explore page, Gavira".

"The explore page that recommends similar content to the one you search…makes sense".

You get up, taking the clothes you had picked before.

"I'm going to take a shower and you're not invited to join me for being an annoying idiot".

"I might change my mind about that!"

After your follow, several media outlets posted about why you would follow a Barça player on Instagram and most just assume you had your eye on him. Well, they weren't completely wrong.

There were also comments about it on Gavi's fan pages. You know, those ones you didn't check…while he was around and could see you doing it. They have great photos of him and you liked looking at them when you missed him. 

"Maybe you can comment something on my new photo".

"Like what?"

You go to your Instagram to find the photo you posted a couple of hours ago. It was a behind-the-scenes shot of your show.

"I got it", he says. But he doesn't let you look at what he is writing. 

A notification on your phone alerts you he had sent it and so you check it to see what he came up with.

Smart. Just a comment about work. It gets people talking without being too obvious.

"You're good at this. Ok, what should I answer?"

"How about the zipper emoji?"

"Wait. You're too good at this. I think I've found you a career for when you retire".

"There are already comments from people who noticed our interaction. Perfect!", you said, pleased.

"What's next?"

“I have an interview tomorrow. I’ll suggest I might be seeing someone. And I’ll share my location too. So people can wonder why I spend so much time in Barcelona”.

He shakes his head, muttering. “So much work”.

"I've been invited to the movie premiere you are going to".

"Why?"

"I don't know", he shrugs. "I just have. I get invited to a lot of things but refuse to go. I don't want people to think I'm not focused on my career because they see me at parties".

"Makes sense", you say, cuddling to his side. "Why are you telling me about the invitation then?"

"I thought we could go together".

You think about it for a second and yes, it is a good idea. But it also feels too soon. You had only been doing the soft launch for two weeks. 

"I don't know…".

"Come on. It's perfect. We show up together on the red carpet and we don't need to do anything else".

"Can I think about it?"

He nods but you could tell he was unhappy you had refused. So you mentally proceed to do a list of pros and cons. 

"I don't think it's a good idea".

"Well", says Gavi, getting up and leaving you on the sofa alone. "I'm going anyway. The movie sounds fun".

Saying you feel bad would be an understatement but it is what feels like the right decision at the moment. 

                                 **

There had been some tension in the days prior to the premiere and Gavi uses your not wanting to be seen with him as an excuse to leave in a different car to the event. 

So when you get there, you see him already attending the press. He had gone through a couple of groups of journalists and now it is your time to be interviewed by them.

"Oh my God! You look stunning. Tell us who you are wearing tonight".

"Valentino. When I saw this dress at the fitting, I didn't need to see more".

Rehearsed answers are always a winner.

"Have you seen who's here at the premiere?"

"A lot of people, I would assume", you laugh nervously, knowing who they meant.

"Well, you see, we noticed you following Gavi on Instagram a couple of weeks ago and now he's here. Maybe you'll have a chat with him? Even if he is the enemy?"

"Maybe".

You move to the next groups of reporters and, of course, there are more questions about the footballer that was getting all the attention tonight.

Too much attention, if you were to be asked. Out of the corner of your eye, you could see a group of women surrounding him. Their flirty giggles were so annoying. Could they be more obvious?

You try not to roll your eyes while you keep talking to the press.

But then, one of them really pushes her luck, offering her arm so your boyfriend can take her to the red carpet to pose with her. And he accepts her offer. Obviously, she doesn't know he has a girlfriend but what the heck?

While you wait your turn to go to the carpet, you see her getting closer to him. And then…she kisses his cheek when the photographers asked her to do it!

"Oh no she didn't!"

You walk to where they are posing and when Gavi sees it is you approaching them, he starts to smirk. 

"Excuse me", you tell the girl who is still holding onto his arm. "That's my boyfriend so I would appreciate it if you stopped touching him".

She looks at you, shocked, and does as you told her.

“I think you scared her”.

“Good!”

"But what are you doing here? I thought you didn't want anyone seeing us together".

"Oh shut up!"

You grab his face with your hands and kiss him, causing all photographers to move to where you two are standing so they can get the best photo. 

Gavi immediately grabs your waist and deepens the kiss. His plan to make you jealous had worked perfectly.

"There is your hard launch".

i'm gonna put this under a readmore because a) it will be LONG and b) it will have photos which, while I have cropped/redacted for privacy reasons, still are of me/the backs of other people's heads. For the same privacy reasons I am not linking back to the photographers but some of their watermarks are still there, if cropped a bit.

So first up i wanna talk about my faviroute unethical scientist This is Duck! They live in a post-cordyceps world and have been passing themselves off as a doctor for the last twenty years in order to get shelter/accomadation at whatever survivors base they end up at. They have a best friend, Pigeon, but have lost track of him since their last job, uh. exploded. They have a bit of a skewed moral compass and definetely won't try and take your kidneys. you know. for science.

They are currently aligned with a group called the Ghost Moths (definetely not the fireflies, please don't sue us) and are working on a cure. there are a couple of immune people in the group and duck is currently planning an "organ donation" program in the event of anyone in the community's deaths, in order to further research the effects of cordyceps on the human body. Each of their patches represents people they've known that have died, and want to remember them. Their last job had a group known as the Nightengales (or alleged Nightengales) delibretely infecting people with forms of cordyceps to test strains of the virus. While Duck was soley on "retrieval duty" (aka, picking up new test subjects) and ultimately helped to destroy the place, they are still incredibly guilty, and terrified their new friends will find out. They are also really struggling, going into the next event, with the loss of a friend who they were not able to prevent from getting infected, and another friend who was literally torn to pieces by a supercharged clicker. (his name is boy george. he's a clicker that can see. it's the scariest shit ever) also they might be on the run from the secret elite group that still controls all the food supply in the country called the consortium for their cure research. (100% duck would have cut into ellie's brain, for SURE. they have a pact with another "we-have-no-ethics-and-have-odd-moral-lines" scientist that if one of the gets infected, the other will vivisect them)

I have written so much of this characters stupid in-character diary, it's ridiulous. I've started leaving it around the game's medbay, hoping someone will pick it up and read all of duck's juicy secrets (like their old job, the fact they have no medical training, and that they've been secretly working on the cure anyway despite being told not to for security reasons)

Second, my hunger games champion, Ashe! From Province 12, they are the youngest of four brothers. Their eldest brother, Smoke, is dying of blacklung, Cinder is disabled after a mine "accident" and Hemlock is working himself to the bone. Five years before the games, their youngest brother, Cinesra, won a bet and moved to the province's merchant district, not speaking to his family since. What a wild coincidence that it is that they both got drawn to represent Province 12!

Ashe went into that arena with one goal - save their brother. With the support that a Champion gets, their brother will be rich enough to save their family from death or poverty. Due to the technology of the ruling classes, you don't get to die just once during your games - And Ashe died three times. The last time, they were woken up, their brother beside them, and told to try and persuade the scientists why the other should die and they should live. When Ashe woke again in the arena, they were convinced that they had been brough back and their brother was dead, with only an hour to go until the end of the games. They found each other, miraculously alive, and then found out: the rules had been changed. If two tributes from the same province were alive, then they would both win. They could both go home. The two of them waited until the last possible moment, as the forcefields were closing in, to rush into the cornocpia. Standing above their only kill of the game, the career, Ashe realised they had won. They both had won.

but that was only the start of the horror. Their victory tour was exhausting; at their interview, they had sung with their brother, and now they were forced to perform as the newest stars. Just when they thought the tour was over, that they could finally go back home... they woke up in a dark cell, with other champions of previous games, and supposedly, trapped in a lab experiment, with the resurrected tributes of former years to haunt them. The scientists were gone, and all their experiments were loose.

And there, in the middle of the second night of this new and terrible hell, the doors were opened and as their brother was going, they got up from their brief sleep and went with him, to make sure everything was okay.

and that's where Ashe Bastion took their final breath. bleeding out, they were dropped by a monster in the dark as the rest of the group ran for cover. they managed to crawl to their feet, and staggered towards where they had made their base.... but bled out of the stairs. their body was picked up and paraded to their brother through the glass wall of an observation booth, before being unceremoniously dumped. and that's how their story would have ended.

But.... perhaps.......... it is not the end............

(fun facts - their kit is obviously quite bare cus of the fact we were wearing the t-shirts provided by the game. to differentiate ashe, i used the space buns, and even slept in them! i also, in the second picture, had Ashe's in-character diary in my pocket, which contains songs of rebellion and the admission that they looked the other way when Cinder stole their explosives (they are the explosives expert in the mines) to try and revolt against the metropole. they have tremendous guilt as that attempt led to dozens of deaths of their fellow miners and the permenent disfiguration and disability of Cinder. They only ever got one kill in the entire arena, and even then never killed any monster while at the labs. they are haunted by the single death they brought about.)

Next is Kestrel! They are a human fighter from a game set post-ragnarok, where humans, alfar (elves) and gods fled midgard when ragnarok occured, and settled instead in some of the other nine realms. Kestrel is from Vanahiem, a place that values nature, equality, and the cycle of the world above all else. All are equal, even gods, and everyone has a voice. They are fiery, passionate, and always ready to defend their fellow Vana. For this reason, they have been named the Champion of the Reaping (Autumn), to represent change, action and passion. They are also a member of the Hunters, who are focused on balance in nature, exterminating threats that might work against that balance, and follow the will of the ancestors. Kestrel is working a little on learning how to bend to that authority, which they have always struggled with, having been a mercenary for many years. They are an impulsive fighter, but they are now also second in command of Vanahiem's forces, learning the trade alongside their fellow Hunter and master of war, Halvdan, who they now count as close as a brother.

Critically, before they joined their fellows on the newly opened Midgard, they only cared about one person - Jackdaw, a Hearthkeeper (storyteller held in high regard), with whom they've travelled. the Birds, as others call them, are also Fatesworn - their souls tied together, for good or ill. If one feels pain, the other does too. (Luna can u tell double life came out just before i played this characteR CAN YOU TELL). When on midgard, mortals are blessed with an extension of life. They can die twice, before it is permenent again. Unfortunetely, Kestrel was very stupid, and a jaunt to the woods to gether resources left them down a life. (CAN YOU SEE WHY I WAS THINKING ABOUT DOUBLE LIFE CAN YOU sEE)

However, Jackdaw has been wandering midgard (i.e. their player has not been able to attend events) and they haven't seen each other since before Kestrel's first death. Kestrel has no doubt he would have felt it, but they have no idea what this has done to their bond.

Kestrel's past is also rearing its head - before they found jackdaw, they may have..... been a minor terrorist troublemaker with a cult that worshipped Hel and promised ruin. Having now seen the truth about Hel (she's nice we promise), in seach for more knowledge, kestrel has reached out to the leader of the cult that they very dramatically left for information. oh, and it's also their ex.

I am SO looking forward to playing kestrel again. they have so much going on - they have been given responsibility as a Champion of the Seasons (meant to advise the council) and as a future war leader (meant to plan the battles and strategies against our enemies). They are also, critically, dealing with the fact that a) they died, and they have no idea if jackdaw is okay and b) they are actually caring about other people that are not jackdaw, which has not been the case since they met.

also they beat up a ghost once and it was AWESOME

A quick shout out to Aleyn, a character who is now retired, but was a bit of a rebel - worhsipping outlawed gods, straddling the line between two nations at all times and their individual and sometimes contridicting laws. After the loss of yet another member of their family (at this point, this was the fifth person they had lost in a year), they have left the Warhost of the allied nations, to try and hunt down and kill an enemy of their clan. I'm just showing off this fit because it fucking slapped and that embroidery on the front took forever

I don't have any good photos of them yet, but they live in a swamp with their family and are very excited to see the world outside of the forests of their homeland. Their name is Cragan, they like fighting and i think these photos sum them up pretty well

They're technically a healer too, but mostly just so they can slap a bandage on their family and get them out of the way of monsters, not fully getting them up lol.

Hello Vita!! I absolutely loved your headcanons with a partner from a different culture.

Being Spanish (Andalusian specifically, which is a exaggerated and stereotyped version of Spanish, hahaha), I think you nailed it with a Spanish and a Mexican as a couple. The accents are... aaaaaaaaah I love them, I don't know if you like the Spanish accent, but I really like Latin accents (by the way, did you know that the actor for Sanji is from the Canary Islands and in the Spanish dub he dubbed himself with a Canary Islands accent? so cute...).

And that idea of big families, that feeling of knowing the ingredients in a meal and thinking we control what we're going to eat but then... it's SUPER SPICY aaaaaaah!!!! water!!!!!, hahaha you made me laugh with that.

By the way, the fact of asking if we're pregnant I think is international! You also made me laugh with that!

I totally buy into the idea that Mihawk has a Spanish mom and a Romanian dad. Honestly, when I watched the live action without any prior knowledge of One Piece, I was blown away seeing that handsome character with that Spanish music in the background! The music fits so well with his aesthetics... and the cross on his chest... being Spanish, you may or may not be religious, but we can't deny that crosses are part of our culture.

By the way, I went to a show in France where a Frenchman fell in love with an Andalusian woman in the XVII century (a beautiful story), and the soundtrack was this. Specifically, starting from the minute I've shared with you, that instrumental part totally gives me the vibes of Ghost Rose and Mihawk, I hope you like it and it inspires you to write more about them!

Yesss, the accents 😚 It's always so much fun to hear all different spanish and latam accents. Ohhh, Taz Skylar's voice was 🫠 I started watching OPLA first on english but I switched to latam spanish pretty soon. Iñaki was sooo cute and they let him talk in mexican (there was a Chapulin Colorado reference!!!) and then ch 5 came and Sanji spoke... My god, his voice is so sexy... It's so rare to have this variety of accents in latam translations, they didn't even gave colombian accents to Encanto 🥺

Big families, salsas not-spicy (lie, they are), medium spicy and totally spicy, a wall full of crosses... That's some of the mexican package 😂 Pro tip: just water don't make the trick, drink milk to get rid of the spicyness in your mouth sooner. Horchata water do it too, there's a reason that's the beverage they would have by default at any restaurant, even street food.

I've been munching for the longest time about Mihawk's heritage with all the little information we have about him and the vibes he gives. If not for the crosses, including Yoru's shape, he would have been more musketeer alike, but the composers definetely felt the spanish vibe too and chose flamenco as his theme because of its intensity and passion. By the way I love the word GloMas: it's like Christmas but more theatrical and angsty, and at the end of all the celebration, instead of getting presents, you end up with less stuff than before (no need to check Ruggie's luggage, officer. On to the question, which is partially about Ruggie. This event has brought to light a new interesting dynamic that I hadn't really considered before, with the Ruggie/Jamil team up. It's nice to see Jamil be himself (i.e. a menace) more unapologetically than usual. I don't really ship them as a "couple", but I definetely see their appeal as potential "acquaintances-with-benefits". And I bet Ruggie would be happy to hear less grumbling when he decides to pay a visit to the rich boys Scarabia dorm. Basically, I'm curious to know if you guys have any thoughts about these two, both related to the event and in general!

YES. These two. These two are very good together.

For the most part I want to just yell YES at everything you’ve said because you’ve honestly nailed it. Glorious Masquerade (with its Christmas-like Glomas glory..) was the first event we’d seen (even before we watched the main story), so Jamil and Ruggie’s unexpected chemistry is something that we have in mind at all times lol

It really feels like they can be themselves around each other, which is exactly what they said, and honestly these two out of the entire cast really deserved it. What they also deserved is to have someone to complain about the harsh realities of serving to capricious princes (Kalim isn’t a prince but) who are unreasonable and frankly stupid at times. Just imagine THE LEVELS OF PETTY AND TIRED VENTING, their venting sessions could be the best.

I don’t know if you wanted any headcanons with them, but since we’re at it, might as well drop some. These are mostly sfw, but the last one kind of isn’t lol

They knew that they might be a good match even before the Glorious Masquerade but never really had a chance to hang out before that. And during the event, to them it felt like they’ve been having telepathic dialogues for ages, and now finally they get to actually chat. They’re on the same page TO SUCH A DEGREE it’s actually stupid.

Even after the event, even though both Ruggie and Jamil went back to being super busy, they kept in touch. Sometimes they text each other, sometimes they meet simply to VENT. Having another person who is done of everyone’s bullshit in this stupid school is a blessing. They also talk about other stuff, like cooking and hobbies and even scheming and such, but their main topic is still “wow I hate these people”.

What they find the most comforting about each other is the fact that they know they are not really friends, but they also don’t have much to gain from each other, so it’s not like they should expect a backstab at any point. It’s actually pretty rare for Jamil to be this relaxed like he is when he is around Ruggie.

They don’t have sex regularly, but they did it once during the Masquerade event and at least once when they came back to the NRC. Both of them aren’t too into sex, otherwise it probably would have happened more often. Ruggie is actually a much better option to have this “acquaintances-with-benefits” deal than Azul, because with Ruggie Jamil can be sure there won’t be any feelings attached to it: they’ll help each other out and will be on their merry way…

finally, a gate that's an actual GATE. I think the plants lore was pretty self explanatory, but I'm so happy we're getting it and it's much more comprehensive that the manga, even(and 98' anime basically didn't explain anything and I had to spoil myself through fandom wiki to understand who vash and knives were). like, it's changed A LOT but it's in the same lane

this knives is so capable, holy shit!! everyone was already joking that he would put kniveses of the past to shame, and it's so true... he knows what he wants and how he wants it done and when he just goes ahead and does it. what a giga chad, honestly

the tessla sequence was quite short, but DAMN. status: alive. after all they've done to her. they put her on ice in this condition so they can keep studying her later. and the twins made her come alive. I'm gonna be sick it's so much worse..... no comas or suicide attempts this time, but these kids were still traumatized as hell (vash looks worse, like he haven't slept or probably eaten in a couple of days)

it was a serious moment but when nai revealed he was reading THE BIBLE I can't ahajakahajajahah... like, NO WONDER HE STARTED A RELIGION omg... pls put that book down you've got the message wrong

and or birthday boy vash... oh babygirl I'm so sorry. when I said I wanted to see him going through this I didn't mean a literal mental torture gaslight dimension!!! like, it's SO crucial to his character to REMEMBER all the good and terrible things he went through.... to have it taken away while he can't do anything, even when he clings to the memories as hard as he can, knives still takes EVERYTHING away from him, until he's the only thing tying vash to this world.

again, any other knives could never! and even before tearing apart all those memories, he gaslights vash even further, saying that he did the fall for him (which is true) and so it's basically his fault (which is very much not true)... and this BREAKS him quite literally... on a brighter note, loved that goofy meryl & nico interaction, remember, when we could still laugh? now it seems like meryl is gonna manage to reach vash in his infinite soup of despair, and that breaks his gate?? I'm so thrilled for the finale it's not at all like I imagined already said this in my previous post, but the flowers are a consistent theme for stampede instead of angels and, like... it's just makes sense for a plant to be a plant, yk. also it's pretty. july is already being destroyed by the roots, I wonder if that's gonna be it or there'll be a big kaboom (in this case it would be hard for meryl to survive, but potentially vash could make a root cacoon to protect her)

also this ep gets bonus points for showing what's going on in the city with the police guys and civilians, 'cause usually stampede isn't great at background and side characters

now making theories about the (potential) second season. amnesia aspect is getting established rlly hard rn! the only question is whether vash gets to remember key moments (like rem, meryl, wolfwood) or if he only retains the vibes of "someone important who said I shoud protect ppl". because it's gonna be interesting if he forgets everyone completely and when nico and meryl (and milly, fingers crossed) eventially find him, he''s like "hi, have we met?"

oh, the POTENTIAL! I think he's gonna get his 98' characterization as super goofy, borderline annoying, because he just doesn't remember all the pain! at least, he doesn't remember the details and fills the blanks with astonishing amounts of cope. and when he's finally able to remember, oh boy, he's gonna crumble.......

How did you and Swansea meet?

So long ago!

I've been on my way to work when my car broke down and a tire popped! Seemed out of the blue..then again, I'de never really brought it to a shop for any sort of checkups. I always worried that my seemingly-fine car would suddenly have issues the moment I did! But with my car broken down, I had to call a tow truck, and was taken to the nearest auto-shop. Oh, I couldn't stop crying..I was going to be late for work, AGAIN! But, I knew this one would most likely be the final straw; I wasn't the.. *most* liked person at work, I had a bit of a habit of running late because of how far away it was from my home, and heaven knows I'm not a morning person! But anywho.

Arriving at the mechanic shop, I was met with the owner and what looked to be his intern or apprentice; a guy closer to my age who'd been busy doing inventory. At this point I was still crying...embarrassing, I know! The older worker told Swany to calm me down and then go look for a matching tire in the inventory. He quickly nodded and got up to come over to me..a few steps in, poor thing fell flat on his face tripping over a toolbox!

I feel bad for it, but I couldn't stop laughing! I walked over to try and help him up; But in my still-shock state, now suddenly turned amused, I couldn't gather myself! I was even snorting like a pig, I was so amused!

Well! He got himself up just fine; bashfully brushing off his pants, before asking if that managed to cheer me up any. Still giggling through much happier tears I assured him it had, before asking if he was alright and giving him my name.

..not sure how, but after he found the tire and delivered it to his boss for the job, we ended up sitting outside and chatting away. I told him about my job which was almost definetely history, he told me about his sobriety journey..I assured him that, luckily, I don't drink alcohol often anyways, so it was never around my house! Eventually as he were joking around, his boss came out and told me the car was fixed and that I had to leave because my car was blocking up space for other customers. I wasn't quite done talking with Swany though, so I took my car..drove it towards parking at the postage office lot next door..and ran right back! His boss tried to threaten loitering charges on me; Well, I called his bluff real quick!

I'm not sure what it was, but I wanted to know more about this slightly bashful, unapologetically sweet, albeit slightly gruff man! By the end of his shift he apparently wanted to keep the conversation going too; inviting me to a diner down the street from his job for dinner.

..and that was that! We got together a few weeks and a couple dates after that. I'm not huge on 'love at first sight'..

..but, he did QUITE literally fall for me the first day we met! Ba dum, tss!

This gif doesn't leave my mind lately. I know you talked about it before, but this one is in a better quality (although, there are mulptiple angles of this, I saw somewhere). Firstly I thought: "Ok, he maybe just wiped smth around his mouth and than patted xz back." But frankly, it doesn't look like that. Why doing that a sec before patting his back? I can't find any other explanation to this, than what it seems to be. It's so sus.

If I can't show affection to my partner in the moment I would definetely do some indirect kiss like this, so he could see what I'm implying.

I know I've posted about this before more than once, but I can only find this post.

This is an ancient candy. I've seen a couple of different angles on it and none of them have ever been convincing. Every single clip I've ever seen of it is extremely blurry and from an awkward angle.

This is the first clip I've seen that makes this gesture look even remotely convincing. I have to admit that it does look like DD kisses his hand and pats GG's back with it from this angle.

I'm still not 100% on it, but this definitely moves the needle for me, to more of an 80-90% from something below 50.

But the thing that always stands out for me with these kinds of things that turtles latch onto is - for me anyway - even if true, it's not really all that exciting to me. Even if it's a gesture of affection, that doesn't mean it's necessarily a gesture of romantic affection. And even if it's a gesture of romantic affection, well - it's cute, but it doesn't really give me much but a cute little moment.

I'm always a bit of a wet blanket with things like this, I know. I get it that to a lot of turtles this clip will be very exciting. It's just that this happened so long ago, and it's such a small thing, and I've seen far sweeter things (DD's schedule trickery) and far bolder things (GG's SDOC3 cameo) that this doesn't really get my blood moving.

However, congratulations, you have changed my mind on a candy turtles have tried for years to sell me on. I agree, based on this angle it's hard to come up with an alternate explanation for what he might be doing in this clip.

This goes back to what I've said many times - if evidence is inconclusive, just enjoy the candy and don't let me dampen your joy. My opinion shouldn't disappoint anyone, or convince anyone either. I have been proved wrong before, on things I was fully convinced about. The vast majority of candies/theories are totally unverifiable.

Hopefully everybody will come to their own conclusions based on their own analysis.

oh, what are your favourite pathfinder podcasts? :o

I really like Dice Will Roll. They're an all queer pathfinder podcast. I played Kingmaker (video game version) alongside listening to their Kingmaker (tabletop version) playthrough. Their audio and voice acting did start out rough, but it has definetely improved. They are very passionate about playing the game together, and being friends.

Glass Cannon grew on me slowly. Their chemistry works very well. Because of them, I'd love to play Giantslayer (video game version) if any developer were to ever make the AP. Glass Cannon is the largest pathfinder podcast I know of.

Four Corners was really entertaining. Their adventure was cut short due to real life circumstances (i assume), but they attempted to do Wrath of the Righteous. Comparing the table top mythic mechanics to the video game mythic mechanics was really interesting. If I ever have the opportunity to play the AP, I'd love to suggest interchanging some of the mythic mechanics between the two variances.

I recently started listening to the Pathfinder podcast (by Paizo). I was hesitant because I'm not a fan of brand name podcasts, but they hired a cast that have really good chemistry. Because of the nature of brand name podcasts, i don't know anything about the players; I barely know their names. Which is fine. It would just add the human element to what would otherwise be a brand name podcast. I am enjoying their work, though.

Roll Gay Roleplay was my first ttrpg podcast. It's a d&d podcast. The players have really great chemistry. They also make an effort to connect to their fans on discord and patreon. Back when I was more active, they actually did a couple of patreon things for me! I never expected it, but I was pleasantly surprised both times. I haven't caught up to their current season, yet. I created some magic weapons for them once. I learned so much about magic weapons from that experience. Apparently, I make things way overpowered. Woopsie.

As far as I have seen, there's not a bunch of extremely popular ships out there for Drake which means there's so much potential for ships, but my OTPs for Drake are SmoDrake, LawDrake, ZoroDrake, and Drake with @akagamiko's Shanks (I LOVE DRANKS OK!!!!!! NEVER WOULDA THUNK BUT HERE WE ARE!!!) There's also a lot of ships I've never explored, so there may be a new OTP on the horizon!!

HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?  

Okay, SO! If you're character is 18-19 and wants to ship with Drake who is 33, it's just not gonna happen. I'm sorry. That's a 15 year age gap, BUT that only bothers me if the character is 18 or 19 years old. 2 years ago they'd be 16-17 and Drake, 31. NO. Please. Just no. Once you hit 20, DO AS YOU PLEASE, but please don't throw your 18 or 19 year old over here and expect Drake to be wooed. I will block you without hesitation.

HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY ARE CONSIDERED NSFW?  

Once the clothes are off, I'm tagging it NOT SAFE FOR DINOS (nsfd as you may see in the future) !!! Touching, kissing, straight up making out feels pretty suggestive to me and I'll put like a suggestive tag on it, but that's pretty safe for dinos!!!

I enjoy the build up and everything that happens after. The slowburn is excellent. The yearning. Lingering glances--or touches--secretly when the person is distracted or SLEEPING OR faking it off as swatting a fly or getting something out of their hair---all of THAT.

WHO ARE OTHER CHARACTERS YOU SHIP YOUR CHARACTER WITH? 

Other characters who I think would be interesting to pair with Drake would be Killer, Kid, Katakuri, King--damn, that's alotta K's--Hina, O-Kiku (VERY RECENTLY DISCOVERED THIS might work), ROBIN, Nami (ginger couple), IKKAKU (learning of Fossil Fuels through RP). I can also try OCs--I used to write several tbh, and Drake has had a lovely relationship with @bucketfullofocs Aya before I was lured away to Pokemon Fandom and gave Drake a break cause we didn't see him for a long time. I've even dabbed a pinky into Drake and Corazon (a Still Lived Corazon AU I think) and the possibility was surprisingly nice. I guess I'm just a sucker for people bigger than Drake and much smaller than Drake PFFFFF.

DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU? 

I have no problems with people asking if they can ship with me, but once that happens, lets have a few interactions and see how they mesh! If I've chatted with you and I like you, I think it'd be a bit easier to do.

However if we've never interacted before and you wanna ship, we DEFINETELY have to see how our characters will mesh with each other.

I LOVE writing my OTPs because it makes me happy and I enjoy shipping AND considering Drake's backstory, he just honestly feels INCREDIBLY LUCKY that someone actually wants HIM like, this mans hit the jackpot!!!, but I wouldn't say I'm ship-obsessed.
