trying to figure out the personality of a character who mostly exists in canon as an absence, and whose brief lines of dialogue are mostly related to the plot or to a recurring joke, is tricky :/

but i threw this together during a round of free writing last night and it feels right

#writing about writing #the thing w writing v minor characters is either they stay one note (roux wants to see luffy; yasopp's scared of usopp) or you make shit up #like how i decided roux as their chef uses his friendly face and good cooking to help him gather intel!#i don't have strong feelings about yasopp but i'm liking the idea of a blunt & direct sniper #next to my take on roux and most ppl's take on beckman it feels like a good contrast #the near miss fics
